GLUTEN-FREE SWEET POTATO ROTI (RECIPE LINK IN BIO) Yesterday I had roti cravings so I had to go for it but since roti is often made with flour that contains gluten I went for roti made of buckwheat flour and sweet potato. If you want to know how I make roti with sweet potato go to the link in my bio. The recipe was before my gluten-free challenge and that roti was made with spelt flour. You can replace it with buckwheat of course like I did now. It’s freaking delicious! Always loved eating roti. A few posts ago I mentioned how my grandmother made roti every single morning. That was her bread.

I loved my roti with curry, vegetables and chicken. That time I wasn’t a plantbased eater yet.

We ate so many roti back then that I couldn’t see roti anymore for a while.

Roti made of sweet potato is different than normal potato of course and my mother is a typical Surinamese woman that doesn’t want Surinamese dishes with a different twist. Can my Surinamese fokes relate to this: your parents making a so called “spaghetti” but it’s actually a bami?! They just need to put those Surinamese herbs and think that they made a spaghetti 🙄😊

Anyway, when my mother tasted this version of roti she really liked it! Soon on the blog but first another one… My crispy tofu!
