Profiles in Villainy

Mandark

Susan ‘Mandark’ Astronomanov is an evil boy genius who is bent on ruling the world.  His parents were drop-out free spirits who offered their son a girl’s name as a means of defying traditional gender roles and stereotypes.  This led to young Susan being mercilessly teased by his peers. He cast the name aside, choosing instead the nom de guerre 'Mandark.'  

The youngster possesses an incredible intelligence and genius for mechanical engineering.  His intellect is on par with that of his hated rival, Dexter.  Realizing that Dexter was the only person capable of thwarting his plans for world conquest, Mandark has made it his mission to demoralize Dexter and destroy Dexter’s Laboratory.  These efforts to best Dexter and conquer the world may have succeeded had not Mandark been repetitively undone by his unrequited love for Dexter’s sister, Dee Dee. 

Actor Eddie Deezen provided the voice for the young villain.  Mandark first appeared in the third episode of Dexter’s Laboratory, entitled ‘Dexter’s Rival,’ airing on May 11th, 1996.

How would you write Dexter's Laboratory?

Seasons 1&2 would remain mostly the same. I'd definitely give Mom and Dad actual names (like Jeff and Kathy or something), give Dexter's babysitter, Lisa, more personality, have Dee Dee get punished for her annoyance more often (i.e. in Book Em, Golden Diskette, and Quiet Riot) and do more Justice Friends and Dial M for Monkey skits.

Seasons 3&4 would definitely be changed from being gag focused to story focused. I'd keep the idea of Mandark's parents being hippies as that's such as well as his real name being Susan as that's a genius way to give him a weakness that Dexter could find out and threatened to blow the whistle on if Mandark goes too far. I'd also keep his sister, Lalavava, on board as Dee Dee's frenemy. They get along better than their brothers but maintain a friendly rivalry when it comes to ballet. I'd also do my best to avoid flanderizing the characters by having react to situations as people, not as stupid and annoying characters. I also want they show to end with the ultimate showdown between Dexter and Mandark, where they pilot their labs as giant mechs and duke it out. It would be the true series finale that brings the ongoing rivalry between the 2 geniuses to a close.

Alright who is winning the science fair?

Maybe Dib is out of the running. I'll make the case that he is his father's son and has shown to be technologically proficient, he can even use irken tech but yeah, he'd get stomped he's too much of an unfortunate dumbass.

Despite Jimmy and Dexter's ability for robotic tech, P&F both have literally made trees that can move like robots and found life that shouldn't exist.

I think canonically Dexter is probably the most super intelligent out of the group, but Phineas and Ferb seem to have some extreme almost supernatural tendency for everything to go perfect for them, so they might just win due to bizarre circumstance.

Maybe Numbah 2 because the judges will actually be able to recognize he was and should have been able to make it himself, Dex Mandark and Jimmy disqualify themselves by refusing to play the elementary school game, while Dib is distracted proving P+F are somehow cheating.

Well, they're all geniuses in their own rights, but I can at least eliminate Dib and Numbah 2 Dib is smart but can't even prove Zim's an alien, let alone beat him. Numbah 2 can do A LOT with 2x4s and duct tape but that can only take him so far with these heavy hitters.

They can turn any alloy into straight gold be using molecular manipulation. No one else even stood a chance in this economy-based society. Like cool, you are a marvel engineers, but can YOU increase the value of any alloy just by shooting it? Didn’t think so…
