Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

I can’t believe it’s September. Time is flying.

Coming off a long week of nights. My first true 80hr work week as a resident. I’m sure it seems like small potatoes to the surgeons out there, but I’m definitely tired. 😅

I went on a cute lunch date with my bf and then we spent the rest of the day in the kitchen. He made homemade pho and I made a lemon olive oil loaf cake. We sipped on orange wine and watched Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix and it was such a perfect day. ❤️

#kirby #daily kirby #my art #digital #hal laboratory #nintendo #it was a hard day today.#sometimes you just gotta cry for an hour about requiring significant assistance to do basic stuff that you don't actually have help with rn!#(my wife is working 6 12s at a job we had to move across the country for)#(which means 1 she is *exhausted* at *all* times and struggling to even meet her own needs)#(and 2 our other partner and all our family and friends are. multiple days away by car. so they can't come help.)#it's getting hard to even stick leftovers in the microwave for myself but no one else is able to cook for me.#it sucks.#(we're moving again in june because this was a 1-year position from the beginning)#(and the idea is for our other partner to move in with us which will help a lot)#(plus my wife should be switching to a reliably 5-day week at that time)#(but we don't know where we're going for another month and a half.)#(so we can't really do any groundwork or anything to make that happen.)#(and having zero agency other than sitting and waiting and getting worse alone Really Sucks!)#I guess this is a bit of a secret part two to yesterday's meducation lol #favorites

2010 Australian Grand Prix - Jenson Button(ft. Robert Kubica & Felipe Massa)

#this was genuinely a race of attrition in the back. 10/24 cars dnfed and i think all but 2 were technical problems #this was a really exciting race tbh i really had no clue what the podium would be #its weird cause i knew seb mark and nando didnt win it but i was so confused how they were gonna lose it? and then it was like OH JENSE OFC #jense was incredible in this race ah what a comeback #everyone thought he made a huge mistake switching to slicks so early on and then it turned out he was the strat goat #and it makes it better cause it wasnt even a call from the team! it was literally his call!!#as we all know hes a god in the wet and it was so admirable and brave of him to make such a bold call for himself and have it work out #the way he has such dominance and performance in wet races(ex canada 2011) is forever so impressive and cool to me #also!!! this race really proves to me why rly i like 2010. really close racing BUT ALSO:#its so sick that both nando and jense won their first/second race with their new team against their teammates who have been there longer #like to have both of them win with the same prestige is so satisying and emotional for me #and god i got flashbacks to aus 2009 seeing him standing on the car. its cool he won melbourne back to back #but also. this post race honestly sucked. bad tv direction bad lighting(not in their control tbf) i felt like they showed nothing well ah :#tho my fav gif is where felipe is standing on his tippy toes and jense bends down sjakjf #jenson button #robert kubica #felipe massa #f1 #formula 1 #2010 australian gp #we do a little bit of f1

Kudo makes funny facial expressions

Just when I think the day's going well, I crash a golf cart

#summer camp tag #ace is a mess #i do not have a drivers license and i havent even been behind the wheel in like 4 years since i stopped lessons cus of the pandemic #the day was going fine i got loads done didnt feel like i was irritating my director too bad #doing some paperwork for her and she says when im done well take the golf cart out while its not currently raining #im like ooh fun never been in a golf cart before i see the higher up staff in them im not gonna say no to chilling in a golf cart #i did not realise that meant i would be driving esp when she asked if id been in one before and i said no #she then asked if i could drive and i said not really thought that would be it #cus i was supposed to be studying for my theory before working towards my practical #but no she insists im driving and first off i gotta reverse outta this bay now at least i didnt have to think about gears #but i hate tryna figure out how to turn whilst in reverse in mess with my brain im not great with shape visualisation #we do all our stops its fine for the most part a lil too fast going down some of the hills #and some tight turns but my turns were always like that cus im too busy focusing on the most immediate thing #we get back i park fine and then shes like oh actually there are some more stops we can make so i reverse and turn back out #do our two stops with only minimal confusion about direction then as i go to park into the bay we came from #shes like oh actually park in the bay closest to the health centre and what i should have done was reversed and adjusted my angle #instead i drove directly into the supporting beam separating the two bays 🙃😭#i immediately turn the cart off and expect her to switch with me instead shes like laughing it off oh it was just a little bump it was fine #im like it was not that was a loud ass bang i feel so bad and then she lifts up the light cover i broke off saying its just a scratch #and i feel worse so pf course thats when the camp director comes out to check on the noise and i dont think ive ever worn a guiltier look #but theyre both laughing it off oh just having a little driving lesson :) and i am mortified #she gets back in the cart and shes still insisting that its fine and i should still park after that which i do with great trepidation #but there are no more problems and the lights still work but the cover does need fixing and i just oh my god #ive never crashed before never clipped or scratched a car so of course id crash the golf cart trying to park of all things 😭

was absolutely agonizing over which movie to start the year with bc i didn't want it to be horror like every movie i've seen for the last 3 months so i decided to commit to something i've been meaning to do anyway, watching all Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki films. bc i haven't seen any of them. or know anything about any of them. other than that people love them.

anyway, so i'm starting from the beginning (well, as far back as i can start anyway, i'm not tracking down the shows Hayao Miyazaki has worked on) and currently i'm a little under 10 minutes into Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (1979) and the image of Lupin cranking his belt mechanism as they slowly descend is absolutely cracking me up

I will never understand how some people hate all tea, which there are like a billion flavors of, but love coffee, which all has the same terrible taste no matter what

#i hate when people try to get me to drink coffee by being like try this one its mostly sugar you can't even taste the coffee #i literally can taste the coffee in things that are stored next to coffee beans for a prolonged period of time #several people have tested me by tricking me into drinking something with trace amounts of coffee and i can always taste it #and its fucking disgusting #i hate the smell also. when i worked at starbucks i had a terrible time. i couldnt even drink our smoothies bc the mix was stored w coffee #and i could taste it in the smoothie. everyone thought i was insane but once they gave me 2 samples of smoothie #one from a brand new mix and one that had been sitting with the coffee beans for a long time. and i knew which was which #without being told. and they finally believed me lmao #i will never forget this one time i accidentally switched mine and my friend's and drink (soda and iced coffee)#and took a huge sip of iced white chocolate mocha with caramel (i also dont like white chocolate and caramel!)#and almost threw up. i had to seriously fight to swallow it bc i knew if i spit it out in my friends car he'd fucking kill me #i was like well in case you were wondering i still hate coffee
