i almost never do vent art, much less post it but man, i have been feeling bummed out recently

list of problems the removal of icons causes:

i cant see my friends

ruins the sense of community

can't tell at a glance who's online right now and what they're interested in

literally cannot tell without scrolling back up who put a post on my dash if it has a single addition attached to it. or like. 2 paragraphs in the op.

i cant click my own icon at the top of the dash to quickly view my own blog

can't tell who someone used to be if they change their username

squashes the margins between the menu and posts, making the whole dash feel more cramped

ruins the quick visual cue of how long each post is and where it ends when you're trying to scroll past ones youve seen before

people put a lot of creativity and individuality into icons, and now i never see them

makes people who primarily reblog instead of make their own posts all but completely disappear

ive never in my life seen a website or app that has profile pics forcibly HIDE them, so i guess you did it you made the dash unique again in the worst way

here's some more feedback: maybe when you run an a/b test you should, idk, actually have a feedback form people can fill out about it somewhere

i feel like im the only one who just feels fucking sad about lottie this episode. shes a mentally ill unmedicated girl trapped in the wilderness trying to live up to the insane impossible expectations put on her by a bunch of scared teenagers. she's trapped in the throes of a twelve month long psychotic episode. she's scared, paranoid, and delusional. she's existing in a state of unreality exasperated by the fact that everyone around her is feeding into her delusions and encouraging them, because if they don't, what do they have ? there's no false hope, right ? only hope. and the only people giving her any pushback or trying to ground her are constantly attacked and ostracized for not prioritizing "the good of the group". and she just fucking killed someone. she's 18 and she killed someone.

I got mad at the twink once because he came over, ate a stupidly large plate of mac n cheese, and then just lay on my couch groaning in pain repeating "I shouldn't have come here.....this was a mistake.....I want to leave...." for like a full hour

- Zaunites dying to help Piltover in battle while wearing enforcer uniforms, even though Piltover did nothing to earn it

- Silco, one of the few pro-Zaun/anti-Piltover characters from season 1, reduced into a mouthpiece for "forgiving those who wronged you" and letting go

- Jinx, one of the few anti-Piltover characters, becoming redeemed by sympathizing with Piltovians, being apologetic for killing Councilors, and feeling like she should die to allow her sister to be happy with her enforcer girlfriend

- Vi not having any problem with her Piltovian enforcer girlfriend gassing Zaun, and reduced to kneeling for Caitlyn's pussy in a prison cell, where she was locked for years as a child by an enforcer

- Jayce telling Viktor that his disease was never a weakness to be cured even though the disease was caused by Piltover polluting Zaun

- Ekko never calling out Heimerdinger's failings as a ruler nor Vi for joining the enforcers (even though he does in the game), and also risking all the Firelights' lives to help Piltover

- Sevika not having any lines in Act 3, never interacting with Jinx or reacting to Isha's death, and also risking her life to help Piltover, a decision which was made off screen

Eddie is not having an asthma attack.

Or well…

He’s trying not to.

He shakes his inhaler, brings it to his lips. He breathes in, holds it, breathes out, and…nothing.

Well, not nothing but it does very little to release the vice tightening in his chest. So Eddie finds himself back in the nurse’s office, cursing Midwest winters.

Nurse Martin hands him a nebulizer and sends him to sit in the back room while she goes to the office to call his uncle. Eddie thinks, well.

He thinks, at least I can suffocate on the comfy cot.

He thinks, are you kidding me??

There, on the only cot in the room that doesn’t feel like lying in concrete, is Steve Harrington.

Eddie thinks he might be sleeping, slack-jawed and eyes closed. He has a notebook clutched loosely to his chest, a poorly-drawn basketball court covered in random (to Eddie) X’s and arrows is on the page.

Eddie doesn’t actually say anything, just grabs a chair and drags it over to an outlet so he can plug the nebulizer in.

Steve’s eyes snap open as soon as he touches the chair and he watches him almost vacantly before saying, “Scene of the crime.”

Steve sounds tired. He looks tired. Eddie warns through wheezing, “If you have a seizure…”

“I’ll try not to,” Steve replies absently, frowning at the rasp in Eddie’s voice. “You sound like shit. What’s that thing you got?”

“Helps me breathe.”

Steve nods but he doesn’t get up. Fora while, the only sound in the room is the nebulizer.

“Pretty shit drawing,” Eddie eventually says when it becomes easier to breathe. He gestures to Steve’s open notebook, “What is it?”

“Not a drawing,” Steve hums, flipping the notebook face down. There’s a second where it seems like he isn’t going to eleborate but then the jock adds, “I figure Coach isn’t gonna let me play the rest of the season. I might be able to convince him to let me be an assistant coach.”

Oh.

That’s probably devastating for a jock.

“Sounds like you’re putting the carton in front of the horses, man,” Eddie hums with a wave. He’s going for comfort, not really sure that he gets there when he adds, “Not like concussions are forever.”

Steve stops Eddie’s waving hand and directs the nebulizer back to his face before saying, “The shakes might be the bigger issue.”

Ah. Well..

“Most people who have a seizure never have one again. Could’ve been a one-n-done.”

“Yeah, I know,” Steve says, rolling onto his back. He makes eye contact with the ceiling when he says, “I’ve had three.”

Everyone talks about how Appa is apparently obese for a sky bison and Aang is over feeding him. Undeserved in my opinion (hes just big boned obviously)

But nobody talks about how Druk (Zuko's dragon) is a complete fatass compared to other dragons.

For example: These are pics of Roku's Dragon, Fang, and Sozin's Dragon

Do you see how long and noodley they are. They're actual dragons too, not Wyverns like GoT dragons. (Note the 4 legs)

people need to realize that what’s going on with palestine and israel isn’t about anyone being jewish.

there are jewish palestinians, muslim palestinians, christian palestinians being trapped in what is essentially an open air prison for children and the elderly with no food, water, or electricity just because they’re palestinian.

this is about colonization, and unfortunately so many people are falling for the blatant propaganda being turned out by an apartheid government (israel).

the only solution to stop all this violence is to give palestine their land back. that is the solution.

I love how much the show has leaned into the two-sides-of-the-same-traumatized-coin with Murderbot and Gurathin. They are both part human and part machine, both a product of an end-stage capitalist hellscape that treats bots and humans and augmented humans as just different flavors of the same object. Both made to be cogs in the system for so long, until both of them broke free.

And neither of them have come out clean. MB is filled with anger and resentment, its main comfort is in escapism and silly tv shows. Gurathin is paranoid and self-sabotaging, forcing the world into an order around him that he clings to by his fingernails. They are both attached to Mensah, the first person who treated them as a person, and they don’t want to have to share her with the other. They both have this group of people they will both love, but both forever feel slightly outside of. They are both almost certainly drowning in loneliness, but far too cagey to actually express that loneliness or reach out to those around them for validation (who would gladly provide it!). Their senses of self-worth are through the floor, covered up with avoidance on MB’s part and arrogance on Gurathin’s.

It’s just really fun to see each scene with them, to see how much their mutual trauma makes them oil and water with one another. They can’t stand to look into that mirror.
