RAMBLING ABOUT ALFENDI LAYTON

thoughts ive gathered from watching the game and ideas (headcanons, she means headcanons)

in before someone tells how wrong i am about several things

-i find it interesting that Al and Kat are so gung-ho about following their intuition and gut instinct when i dont recall Hershel ever being like that. Hersh was very grounded in his logic and investigate before coming to any conclusion but his kids base their thinking on vibes and then investigate for the sake of confirming their feeling. 

-it almost feels like (based on how Al encourages Lucy’s thinking throughout the game) the whole intuition method was Alfendi’s brain child that, after Hershel left, either he taught Katrielle or she picked up from him. (i am a firm believer that Al looked after Kat when the professor left they were like 18 and 10, theres no way she was just. alone for 11 years) 

-Potty Alfendi seems capable of caring about other people so i wonder if he ever spoke violently to Kat while taking care of her since thats how he always was before Forbodium. never acting on anything of course, or maybe he was more tolerant of her since shes so much younger than him. and seemingly the only family member hes got that he still gives a damn about.

Kat sees the best in people so maybe she just brushed off any crazy ass thing he said. “ill have your liver for dinner!” “can you have it tomorrow? i really want burgers tonight”

-i think i didnt register this part but do Al and Fendi share a memory? ok like, lets look at Toko Fukawa and Genicider Syo (i know theyre not good DID rep but i need some comparison here) when Toko fronts, Syo cant hear what she says and doesnt remember what happened while Toko was fronting and vice versa, like two people taking turns sleeping within the brain. Al and Fendi (potty and placid respectively) however, seem to be more like a driver and passenger. both can hear what one is saying and Al never seemed confused as to where he was or what was going on when popping in to save a case. maybe its because theyre not really separate people but different versions of the same person?

-when the fuck does this game take place timeline speaking? Alfendi’s little hi hello in the anime proves hes canon but the phone calls the commissioner was getting in lbmr and that being revealed to have been the commissioner talking to Hersh seem to suggest that Hersh had been back for a while. Al’s game came out before Kat’s but lmj and the anime seem to be the proper timeline we’re going with? idk i was confused having found millionaires conspiracy before mystery room.

-given that theyre the only family each other have, does flora even keep in touch with them??? i seriously doubt that Katrielle isnt aware of her “new brother” but does Hershel know? does the man still think he only has one son? how do you react to your foul-mouthed criminal-obsessed son suddenly being a decent member of society? 

-they made him so damn cute in the manga ❤️❤️love it when he just goes =D and you can see the resemblance and tell that hes biologically Hershel’s son AKDNDNSJ

Ok I'm curious and this is the best platform I have for this sooo..

Would anyone be interested in a Tokomaru-centric + story-boarded Multi-Animator Project? From both a potential viewer and participant point of view. Cuz I have an idea I might enjoy hosting, as it may be too big of a project to do on my own atm, but am hesitant to definitively make it a MAProject as I don't know how successful it may be.

This will omit details of plot/ song/ etc. as a factor. I wanna see if there's interest for the Tokomaru aspect specifically, cuz if there's not enough interest for that alone I don't know how much a specific song or plot will help.

Korekiyo Shinguji dating headcanons:

- Can and will constantly have an arm wrapped around your waist.

- He’ll call you things like Darling, Sweetheart, Dear, etc..

- Despite what the fandom may think, he doesn’t call you stuff like “Kitten” or “Love Of My Life.”

- If you’re sitting on this lap, he’ll slightly bounce his leg up and down.

- He gets you little gifts, most would be considered weird though. He gets you animal bones, snail shells, buttons, very old books, antique figures, necklaces with his blood in them, etc..

Kyoko Kirigiri- Ultimate Luckster- Mastermind (: Sometimes lesbians can be evil okay! was trained as a detective like everyone in her family and didn’t get the ultimate :) she’s definitely not mad about that :) her luck cycle depends on how far she plans things ahead. her good luck is when she’s spontaneous! She hates when ‘normal’ people are accepted by ultimates.

Makoto Naegi- Photographer (Mostly wildlife and nature photography, with Sayaka helping him for some animal photography (: trans and bi <3 One of sayaka’s birds nests in his hair like all the time)

Kiyotaka Ishimaru- Ultimate Swordsman (AUTISTIC ICON, has trained in kendo since he was a kid, then was essentially given away to the Fujisaki clan by his very stressed dad. Semiverbal, rarely speaks.)

Chihiro Fujisaki- Ultimate Yakuza (Taka is her bodyguard! His family is in debt to hers, the Fujisaki clan is the most powerful in Japan. trans icon, of course, dates Sayaka! Very direct, though she’s far more delicate and polite when talking to taka, her best friend)

Sakura Oogami- Ultimate Nurse (Works as an EMT- her clan still is in martial arts, so she’s still very buff, she assists in injuries at the family dojo. Autistic Icon)

Asahina Aoi- Ultimate Gamer (ULTIMATE ADHD. streams and has a ton of fun, will ramble while breaking records, demigirl who loves her girlfriend sakura :)

Mukuro Ikusaba- Ultimate Chef (Works best with ‘cheap’ food, and making them taste good. a byproduct of growing up on the streets with junko, and junko being bored of the same old food they dug out of the trash. now works closely with junko for her teams’ nutritional needs! autistic and sapphic.)

Junko Enoshima- Ultimate Team Manager (there are SO many sports she can never get bored, and the professional scene is always changing! prefers coaching womens’ teams, because being an ultimate brings them more publicity and usually higher pay :)

Mondo Oowada- Ultimate Prince (OH MY BOY. trans adhd icon. now the crown prince of Novoselic, with a reagent in his place until he comes of age. His service dog Chuck is a maltese and an absolute sweetheart. Chihiro takes him under her wing to teach leadership. also dates taka later OF COURSE, though they’re poly and I may add more ppl to their relationship later.)

Celestia Ludenburg- Ultimate Musician (specializes in violin, most strings, though she can play any instrument. grew up poor, dedicated herself to an instrument and persona to cope)

Byakuya Togami- Ultimate Musician (Yep. two musicians. two catty trans gay icons about to throw down. they HATE each other and grew up as rivals. specialize in classical, they literally tore a professional orchestra full of grown adults apart trying to make them side with who was the best musician. they’re so good that they’re matched, and Hope’s Peak accepts them as one student and combined ultimate. they room together. they fight. Literally if one of them gets expelled, the other does too, so they’re STUCK. eventually they become literally inseparable and insufferable together like the WORST siblings. I love them.)

Sayaka Maizono- Breeder (animal handler) (Specializes in birds!!!!!! has songbirds on her shoulders all the time. will give unsettling animal facts without realizing they’re unsettling. sends her songbirds to serenade chihiro when they start dating <3)

Yasuhiro Hagakure- Gymnast (you see this tall goof who acts like an older brother to everyone and wonder HOW he’s a gymnast. he’s completely different in competitions, though still lighthearted. becomes a big brother figure to mukuro and junko especially <3 also trans bc i say so.)

Leon Kuwata- Traditional Dancer (he just. kinda hates it. it takes SO much work and effort but he takes to it naturally. his cousin kanon is NOT like in canon, instead she’s helpful. he’d literally rather be doing anything else. doesn’t know how to do anything like... basic either. can’t cook. cant do his own laundry. everything was dedicated to traditional japanese dancing before he attended HPA.)

Toko Fukawa- Engineer (writes schematics and is very good at it. gets VERY upset when her plans go wrong. her notes are orderly and perfect. host for their system!)

Syo- Mechanic (a factive of genocider syo, NOT an actual killer. she’s a protector mainly, and also is more adept at hands on skills when it comes to fixing things, her hands are less shaky. Her notes are a disaster and she does it to spite Toko.)

Hifumi Yamada- (???) (reserve course) Protagonist! My BOY. HIFUMI IS GOOD OKAY. He’s autistic and loves anime and gaming! he’s not particularly ultimate-leveled at them, or anything else! Attending Hope’s Peak as a reserve course student! At one point he joins the student council as a reserve course representative even if he’s only a freshman :) He’s also a moderator in Hina’s livestream chat, under the username of JusticeHammer, fastest ban hammer this side of the internet. He's internet friends with hina and sakura, and doesn’t realize Oh We Go To the same SCHOOL until he bumps into them. and realizes hina doesnt know what he looks like. but sakura does. its hilarious. he’s aroace, and during the year they’re locked in HPA, is in a queer platonic partnership with Hina and Sakura, while they’re dating each other. it’s great.)

Goodbye Despair! (second game)

Peko Pekoyama- Lucky student (ohohoh. her luck relies on her conviction. if she has doubts her bad luck strikes HARD. trans!, was taken in by Fuyuhiko’s family when she was a baby, grew up as just another kid in the family. They all expected Fuyu to go off to HPA on his own and then BOOM acceptance letter)

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu- Programmer (He. gets so angry while coding. He has an array of rubber ducks to talk to and work through his coding issues with. trans of course. Very protective of Peko when people say she doesn’t have a ‘real’ ultimate. ADHD and Autistic)

Sonia Nevermind- Writer (Literary Girl) (Her family immigrated to Japan when she was young! She writes a lot of serial killer novels, murder mysteries and horror and all that! Trans and bi :)

Gundham Tanaka- Detective (YEAH my guy is a detective. still talks Like That. Trans and bi and he and Sonia were kinda-dating (t4t autistic power couple in the making) when things started happening. He spends some time with his cool older sister who he looks up to a LOT. He and Sonia talk through things together a lot, they both have those red string walls, one for murder cases, another for a fictional plot lmao.)

Mahiru Koizumi- Moral Compass (my GIRL. autistic. Her morals rely a lot on people taking responsibility and being reliable, and she ends up having to work through some biases she didn’t realize she had when she arrived at HPA. Is still protective of Hiyoko, though that protectiveness is spread a bit thinner to extend to the rest of the class.)

Hiyoko Saionji- Clairvoyant!!! (HI YES I COULD TALK ABOUT HER FOR DAYS. Has actual visions in dreams and when she suddenly faints, but doesn’t really realize they’re uhh Real Visions for a WHILE. uses her status as an ultimate clairvoyant to trick and bully kids when in school for a LONG time, though her homelife wasn’t great with her grandmother trying to find ways to make her visions more consistent. SHES ALSO 12 WHEN SHE JOINS THE 77TH CLASS. she’s just so advanced in academics and her ultimate is so interesting hope’s peak cant HELP but scout her early. she has SO many issues guys no one appreciates hiyoko enough, autistic gifted kid hiyoko my beloved.)

Akane Owari- Gambler (started gambling to help out her family and Got Good at it. is very very conscious of money and food like all the time. Runs the hope’s peak betting pools once she arrives. these ultimates bet on a lot of things. she ALWAYS wins. until she doesnt!!!)

Mikan Tsumiki- Martial Artist (ohhhh Mikan. Still anxious and clumsy (though not like THAT in canon) and literally no one looks at her and thinks Oh The ULTIMATE martial artist?? it isn’t until you see her in the ring that you understand. She started learning self defense as a kid because her (bad) parents essentially said she had to rely on and protect herself and no one else would help.)

Kazuichi Souda- Pop Idol (OH TRANS ICON? he’s nervous and paranoid about Everything still, though now it’s like. oh the entire world is always watching my every move this is Okay (: has the brightest neon album eras. he literally keeps up a like. weird chad persona when interacting with people because he’s masking how hard he’s constantly just internally screaming.)

Nagito Komaeda- Soldier (AHAHAH my mans got issues problems disorder he’s a messssss, this trans guy, this absolute gay. this boy leveled a city of thousands of people with his own hands and some bombs. Still has medical issues, but most of his like. treatments and medicine is hold hostage as long as he stays in line. believes the ends justify the means and anyone who dies to him is obviously weak, because look at him! he’s weak, but that doesn’t matter because he doesn’t have to be the strongest, he just has to be stronger than the weakest scum.)

Chiaki Nanami- Heir (OOF. Agender, uses any pronouns. Doesn’t really. enjoy being the heir. grew up with Byakuya in the same circles. she treats the economy and stock market and stuff like games. enjoys gaming but isn’t good at them. collects so many things. has halls full of collections. Her parents stopped controlling her once she was able to prove she had more money than them and could literally bankrupt them if she wanted.)

Hajime Hinata- Baseball Star (Chiaki’s best friend, his family was upper middle class until he hit it BIG as a baseball star. wants to do BIG things and wants to attend hope’s peak more than anything!! Doesn’t really think of baseball as his THING, just a means to an end! trans :)

Teruteru Hanamura- Biker Gang Leader (started with shaking down some jerks who didn’t pay their food and drink tabs at his mama’s restaurant. now he RUNS their tiny town. His siblings are essentially gang mascots, he works hard to keep them out of trouble (while bringing them to like. meetings where he ends up beating a dude almost to death. its fine). most of what he does it to get more money to keep the restaurant afloat and care for his mama with her health conditions.)

Nekomaru Nidai- Fashionista (the drama. the CHAOS. most people are like ohhh we can never understand this artistic genius when he’s literally just. vibing and has ADHD and a love for coffee. Works a lot on accessible clothing lines for disabled people! Also he and Kazuichi work together sometimes, Nekomaru is good at calming Kaz down and seeing like, the root of whatever problem and making it better. ALSO A TRANS ICON and just flaunts it.)

Imposter- In the hope’s peak days they are impersonating Ryota Mitarai, as a part of the 77th class. In the Killing Game they impersonate Mondo Oowada as the Ultimate Prince. They’re doin’ their best.

Ibuki Mioda- (???) (Izuru Kamakura) Protagonist! Gundham Tanaka’s older sister (though they’re in the same school year). Nonbinary and using just. an array of pronouns alongside she/her, and jokingly fights with gundham for neopronouns like MOM said it’s MY TURN on the rawrself pronouns. She attends the reserve course to stay at her brother’s side. She dresses loudly and acts even louder because !!! she wants to stand out!! in the middle of this drab reserve course hell!!  but when things go down, she wants to be someone, to be worthy of being her amazing brother’s big sister. so she accepts some offers.

NON-KILLING GAME:

Ryota Mitarai- Ultimate Analyst (stays in his room. He’s terrified of the outside world but fascinated by it. watches hope’s peak academy through security feeds, picking up on little details. he just wants to understand things but never looks at the big picture.)

Chisa Yukizome- Ultimate Boxer (Homeroom teacher!! She’s working really hard and believes in everyone! Some are intimidated by talent, but she’s never hurt anyone outside of the ring! Dating Kyosuke)

Juzo Sakakura- Ultimate Student Council President (Has anger issues, though his work at reigning them in assisted in becoming an Ultimate. Was responsible for security and the Hope’s Peak student council. Dating Kyosuke)

Kyosuke Munakata- Ultimate Housekeeper (Meticulous, works himself to the BONE even if he’s good enough to not have to do that. Is working on establishing another Hope’s Peak! Dating Chisa and Jozu!!!)

Seiko Kimura- Ultimate Blacksmith (GIVE MY GIRL KNIVES!! She’s an anxious gal, always wearing a facemask that filters the air in her forge because she has some respiratory problems. she prefers making more decorative pieces like an artist, but sometimes can create utilitarian pieces or tools to fit specific needs. Still a doormat)

Ruruka Ando- Ultimate Pharmacist (She constantly asks Seiko for new tools for her developments in medicine, saying its all for the advancement of humanity, so Seiko denying any request is SELFISH, though she never thinks to make anything for seiko’s health issues. Dating Izayoi. Specializes in medicine for mental health. Not Doing Great :)

Sonosuke Izayoi- Ultimate Confectioner (He loves sweets. LOVES them. Creates things that look plain, ordinary. but taste so GOOD you CRY and maybe ascend for a little bit. sometimes Ando makes cool new drugs to put in the sweets, who knows! It’s a mystery! He always has like. a huge refrigerated case of fresh cakes, and constantly has a lollipop in his own specialty recipe in his mouth.)

Kyoto was 100% the reason Celeste is dating Junko, it’s canon now. She is extremely involved in seating for extracurricular activities (i.e. the tea parties), and commonly puts them together. She finds putting Taka and Mondo apart...helps them?? She has no idea why but if they’re seated far from each other, they are immediately cuddling once they leave the room.

Grey-hair and Blue-hair girls are dating, no I do not take criticism (grey hair has braids I think and protects a mob guy?? and blue hair is the mastermind ig, she has black glasses apparently) - queer eye anon

Leon and Chihiro were some very powerful masterminds behind ishimondo ngl 👀 like chihiro’s brainpower combined with kuwata’s sheer strength of will?? UNSTOPPABLE those gay bitches never stood a CHANCE

Leon ALSO wingmans for sayaka because they’re besties who hate each other ❤️ he’s constantly cracking jokes with her about how she should just text Mukuro that she wants to fuck, or jokingly advises her to use raunchy pick-up lines on Sakura. He’s come very close once or twice to just. Blurting out “HEY MUKURO! SAKURA! SAYAKA’S GOT A HUGE FUCKING CRUSH ON Y-” only to have the idol clamp a hand over his stupid dumbass mouth <3

it’s okay because sayaka absolutely gets her revenge when she has to wingman for him and makoto (the only reason she doesn’t completely fuck up kuwata’s chances and embarrass him is because she’s besties with Makoto, too, and knows the poor guy’s ALSO got it bad. There’s a lot of Sayaka (and literally everyone else too) having to deal with some gross oblivious loveydovey pining from these fucking dorks, so she gets her fill of teasing)

And Hina wingmanning for Sakura???? Bruh okay u have no IDEA how much serotonin platonic sakuraoi gives me simply because????? Them?????? They????? Love???????? I love them???

And basically Hina’s just the right amount of empathy/sympathy and logic!! Her main, go-to piece of advice is “just talk to them!” And - surprise - trusting her on this usually leads to having fun and making good memories with the object(s) of affection !!

She’s such a sweetheart??? And like yes ofc she doesn’t have an answer for everything, because her heart is just a lil bit bigger than her brain sometimes (ok but mood tho like no shame this is both kin and projecting) but she’s trying her best!!! As she always listens to whoever needs her at that moment and gives the best advice she can - which isn’t even limited to romantic situations!!! She’s one of the go-to students for when someone’s having, like, an everyday problem or feeling stressed because she’s so non-judgemental and soothing to be around!!!

Anyway, Kyoko-

she also (unfortunately) is forced to wingman for Makoto and Leon, which means a lot of listening to naegi ramble on about how cool and nice and interesting and pretty and blah blah blah kuwata is (don’t get Kirigiri wrong, she adores Leon, but a girl can only take so much, y’know?)

and requests for Makoto to simply......TELL LEON are almost ALWAYS refused because nope no way in hell absolutely not and so she’s like great I’m gonna go bang my head against a desk because I seriously cannot take the two of you anymore

eventually she (secretly) goes and talks to Leon, without betraying Makoto’s trust or disclosing any information she feels he would not be comfortable with, does her best to subtly hint at the fact that hey. koto’s got a crush. you should fucking ask him about it before I go completely insane. Leon doesn’t fully get the hint but does go talk to Makoto, which FINALLY prompts some goddamn CONVERSATION about it thank GOD

sometime after all this, Kyoko gets inadvertently wrapped up in co-wingmanning with Makoto for Komaru and Toko/Jill. Except. Those three have no clue about the fact that there is any wingmanning going on.

and makoto’s like “because she’s my sister and she’s in love and I want her to be happy!!!”

“Okay but shouldn’t they work this out on their own”

part 1 of my mindless ramblings about Danganronpa

So have y’all ever considered the fact that Genocider is gender fluid? I know I kinda like briefly touched on this subject but hear me out. In Danganronpa: The Animation, they specifically say that they don’t really care what people call them, in response to Hina asking if they’re a boy or girl. Of course keep in mind that’s me summarizing. So, like technically, even though the franchise has some iffy things about the community, Genocider is gender fluid! Jill for fem days, Jack for masc days, and Syo for non gendered days! Now, take that thought and now imagine everyone asking for their pronouns whenever they appear, and like they’re kinda shook because why do you people care?? And everyone is like because we are low key friends?? We are literally in a killing game together?? And they’re still shook because people care about them? And Hina comes up one day with with some of those bracelets that you can wear to like subtly tell people your pronouns for that day and she’s like yeah I figured you got tired of always answering so I made you these, and now Genocider uses them religiously. In today’s Ted Talk we will be discussing-

This is dumb, but: What is your opinion on Ultra Despair Girls game? If you haven't played it, then your opinion on Toko Fukawa.

Oh! It’s not dumb at all!

In short, Ultra Despair Girl’s just wasn’t my thing. I can see why people might like it, the animation parts and the 3d gameplay was super cool. I liked the story too on how it expanded on what happened with the outside world and all. But I don’t feel like its a necessary game to play because it wouldn’t effect anything, other then being mentioned as posters in SDR2 and DRV3. I don’t really think they really play into the plot of the series over all.

But what i really don’t like was the characters, like the WoH. They were all annoying to me. So were the bears, Haiji, and the others. I really didn’t like Komaru, she was just so boring to me and i don’t really see why people like her....I mean, she was the first female protag but they made her so plain and boring, even more boring then Makoto. I think it would be more interesting if Monaca DID turn her into the new Ultmate Despair at the end of the game. I think it would have been interesting since her brother, Makoto, was turned into the Ultimate hope at the end of the first game.

And also some parts of the game kinda just freaked me out. Like that one hand part before the Kotoko boss fight. I can understand why she did it, basically “If you think this is wrong, then what the adult did to me was also wrong” But it was just a gross thing to do. Also the fight with Syo and Kotoko before her boss battle just,,, ew

and it makes it worse they made her say that line, “I’m 18 so this is all okay!”, to try and make that okay???? Just no, she is clearly a child so like.

So yea,

over all rate of the game, 4/10, interesting game, cool aspects but just bad in my opinon.

And also, about toko

I think she’s interesting, thought she isn’t on my list of favorite charcters list tho.

I think her character development was okay, but I wish they would have made her lose the stalker love for Byakuya but I know they never will.

I also think her DID is pretty offensive to people with actual DID, it’s bad rep for them but I can’t speak for someone who has DID, its just my opinion.

In over all, i don’t really have any strong feelings about Toko, she’s not my favorite but not my least favorite either.

Toko really got the biggest upgrade, huh? She went from being part of the minor half of the dr1 survivors (Toko, Hina, Hiro) to full on dual protag with ahoge and everything. And ya know what? She absolutely deserved it and I'm proud of her.

And this, friends, is where I ramble for a while because anon is COMPLETELY RIGHT!

Okay so when I first saw the DR1 anime (yes I watched it before the game playthroughs) I didn’t really think much of Toko. In the playthroughs, I thought she was funny, same thing with Syo. They never had much presence in my mind until Another Episode was a thing.

During Another Episode, I got to see her grow. I saw her develop from someone with very little self esteem into someone who can hold her own and who has a best friend, something I think she always needed.

Watching her grow like that, becoming a protagonist when she didn’t have much significance in the first game, was something that was really beautiful to watch. As a content creator, I loved seeing her character develop fully into that. I know she’s just fictional but I really am so proud of her for allowing herself to grow and allowing Komaru to help her grow.

Toko is one of my freaking favorite Danganronpa characters and I just love her so much

Hi nonie dear! Sorry this took quite a bit to get to, I’m sure you’ve heard from the other matchups but this has been a really busy week for Mod Otoya and I with choir and school crap, but we’re back!!

I match you with~~~ Syo Kurusu!!! I don’t know if it’s because he’s one of my faves and I’m an INFP but I feel like he suits an INFP s/o don’t y’all think? Anyway you two would have such an adorable dynamic, whenever you’re feeling more outgoing you guys would be super playful, teasing each other, making fun of each other, playful fighting, stuff like that, but when you’re all worn out and out of steam he’s perfectly content calming down and just listening to the others ramble and talk while you guys are pretty much off in your own world with you curled up to his side or even on his lap if you don’t mind PDA (This is basically a description of my INFP friend and her boyfriend they’re actual goals goddd) 

He finds it adorable how you get really shy around strangers or intimidating people and is always ready to Step Up and Protect you or just help you warm up to them and be more comfortable in said person’s presence. I have a huge trouble with wanting to talk to people but being too scared to because of social anxiety and I feel like he would totally be the type of friend to help you out to the best of his capabilities if something like that happens to you too. He loves going to the beach with you and no not just because he gets to see you in a swimsuit, just the beach is a generally really fun and high energy place which is what Syo is all about. 

His music taste is like literally action anime soundtracks which I can see you guys binge watching together if you like action anime--if not he might just force you to watch it in the same way you would force him to watch your favorite shows that he isn’t interested in (and would secretly actually like by the end of it) He finds your writing really cool, and loves reading it over whenever you allow him to see since he could pretty much feel you and your thought process behind it which is the greatest thing in his opinion because it shows how well he knows you. 

Other possible matchups include Masato Hijirikawa!! (I don’t know why but both Mod Otoya and I headcanon him as like super literate and stuff -probably because of his background- which would be cool since he’d give you like tons of encouragement on your short stories, plus he’s a bit on the quieter side which is a nice contrast to your overall outgoing nature) or Ai Mikaze!! (He’s totally intrigued by how different you act when you’re with friends as opposed to when you’re with strangers, and he would be your video game buddy!)

Ramblings on Syo’s interactions

Also, despite my initial saltiness over the Syo interactions, outside of using Togami as an excuse to have her interact with people, there were a few interactions I really liked. There's three(I guess 4) big ones that stood out for me at least, the first two being the interactions she had between Sonia and Nekomaru. In Sonia's interaction I legitimately enjoyed seeing Genocider dealing with a fan, being pretty annoyed but also amused that she had this weird celebrity status. Along with that, her willingness to show/inform Sonia about something new to her(despite it being overly lewd) was refreshing since it means Genocider is not only capable of getting along with another girl but trying to be friendly with her... even if it was overly so. In Nekomaru's case, it's finally shown that yes, Genocider's down for beefcake macho men types too. Considering almost every translation of her preferred men type varies, jumping from studs, hunks, adorable, pretty and so on, it was hard to gauge if it was a case of what the Japanese considered attractive or if she did like guys like that too. So now I can rest easy that she might like Mondo purely for the hunk factor. Alright, tasteless pandering aside, the next two ones are actually really nice. First is Usami's interaction with Genocider. As expected, Genocider just treats her like a joke and abuses her just like the majority of the student body does, however despite this, the way Usami handled herself and showing Syo that even with as messed up or terrible she was, she'd still stick by her really made me appreciate just how great of a teacher Usami can be. Genocider's initial reaction of being impressed that rather than scold her, Usami properly lectured her like a teacher should showed a rare side of Syo not really seen in any of the other games or anime. The fact Genocider Syo of all people acknowledged Usami's words as genuine goes to show even the serial killer can be talked through, even if stubborn. Lastly is her interaction with Maki. I cannot emphasize how important this one is especially, since it's one of the few interactions where Genocider seems to be teasing or baiting someone into saying something, but is actually at least a little curious. It's tough to tell but I'd say she's being tsundere about it, especially when she admits she's brooding about graduating in her own way. That really seals it in for me, along with her saying that it might be the last time she sees Maki face to face, giving Syo some much needed humanity by making it clear that she IS going to miss her classmates. She IS going to miss being a part of Hope's Peak Academy and her surprisingly peaceful time there. I'm a total sucker for that stuff, so for it to be done for Syo is great!

So what happened to the 78th class if it's not to spoilery? (Like specifics on who murdered who and that stuff)

//i actually wrote notes on how the game goes in this au so thanks for asking!

notes under the cut (warning, it’s a lot to read, and also equivalent to rambling, not all of this is entirely solid yet and there may be holes in logic compared to the original, I’ll also include a short explanation of what happens after the game ends)

After The Incident, the 78th class agrees to barricade themselves into Hope’s Peak High, to avoid the riots outside. In doing this, they also trap themselves with Ultimate Despairs, Mukuro, Junko, and Ishimaru. Junko and Ishimaru start planning for the Killing School Life.

Shortly before beginning the game, Ishimaru executes Junko and Jin Kirigiri in a fit of despair in front of the 78th class, then uses Yasuke Matsuda’s memory removal method to wipe everyone’s memories.

The big difference here is that there is no Junko impostor, and Mukuro participates as herself, with all memories wiped.

Also, Ishimaru participates and acts as if he’s just another victim instead of barricading himself in the data room like Junko does in the original.

The motives all remain the same, The videos of everybody’s captives, (including Ishimaru’s, and for Mukuro it’s a video of Junko’s execution), the embarrassing secrets, the money, and instead of the revelation of Sakura being a mole, (since she dies in the first case), Monokuma spreads lies to make everyone believe there is a traitor, when really, there isn’t.

(I won’t be going into the absolute evidence details, only major events like character interactions and crossings with the canon story)

In the first case, Mukuro kills Sakura. 

Mukuro is threatened by the video of Junko, and wants to escape the school immediately to find out what happened to her sister. Meanwhile, The mastermind blackmails Sakura into killing someone, and she and Mukuro have a chance meeting in the student dorm area after everyone had gone to bed.

While this happens, Sayaka is still making her plan to kill Leon and has switched rooms with Naegi already.

Mukuro kills Sakura and hides the evidence of the murder, but leaves the body in the hallway so everybody is put under suspicion, and shortly after, Leon goes to visit Sayaka, but sees the body and panics, running to his room and waiting out the night instead of seeing Sayaka.

The night goes on until morning comes, and Ishimaru wakes up earlier than everybody else to go to the breakfast meeting, and finds Sakura’s body leaned up against the wall. He goes to alert everybody else about the discovery, and eventually the body discovery announcement goes off.

The trial later on ends with Kyoko and Naegi dragging the truth out of Leon and successfully indicting Mukuro.

Mukuro is executed. 

The execution i thought up for her involves her being carried by soldiers with Monokuma heads to a room for execution by firing squad. She manages to break free of their grip and kills them with a knife hidden in her boot, and runs for a door that reads exit, only to find a long concrete corridor, with tall walls. She attempts to climb them, only to find that she can’t. Meanwhile, more Monokuma faced soldiers come into the room, grab her, and blindfold her, facing her forward to a firing squad. She gives one last smile as she remembers Junko and how this might be filling her with despair right now. The Monokumas shoot their rifles, one hitting her square in the head, killing her instantly.

In case 2, Asahina is depressed and upset over the death of Sakura, who she was just getting to become friends with.

Eventually, Monokuma reveals the dirty secret motive.

In this timeline, Ishimaru happens to be in the locker room around the time that Mondo would have lost it and killed Chihiro, and because of this, Chihiro isn’t murdered.

Instead, Celes is threatened by the dirty secrets, and blackmails Hifumi into helping her plan a murder in the pool area. Asahina overhears their plans and goes to the meeting place to talk the two of them out of it, claiming that nobody else should have to die like Sakura and Mukuro did.

Celes doesnt listen, and Asahina in a dire attempt to save everybody from Celes and Hifumi, slams Celes into the pool and kills her.

Hifumi, meanwhile, is waiting for Celes to carry out their plan, and grows worried when she doesn’t meet with him, so he goes to check on her and finds her dead body floating below the surface of the pool.

Asahina is found as the culprit, and is executed.

For Case 3, Monokuma reveals the money motive, and nobody is biting.

Hagakure and Leon are socializing and hanging out in the rec room, and Leon makes a joke along the lines of, “I may actually kill someone if we have to stay like this any longer” and Hagakure takes it seriously. The two have a massive misunderstanding and Hagakure threatens to tell everyone else that Leon intends to kill someone, and Leon becomes deadly serious, threatening Hagakure with a nearby Monokuma bottle. Hagakure retaliates by hitting Leon on the head with another one of the bottles, causing him to pass out, while Hagakure runs out of the room.

Wondering why Leon didn’t follow after him, He goes back to check and finds Leon dead on the ground.

Panicked, he takes some of Leon’s blood and writes a fake dying message pointing to Mondo. 

Mondo does pass by the rec room and sees the body and the writing left on the ground, and goes inside to smear it so nobody can read what it says, then leaves, so nobody wrongfully suspects him.

Later on, Makoto and Chihiro go to the rec room and find the body, as the body discovery announcement goes off.

Hagakure is found guilty and executed.

In case 4, the remaining survivors theorize that there may be a traitor in their midst, and Monokuma lies, saying there is a traitor, when really, they are already dead (Sakura was the traitor and died in the first case).

Sayaka, who only got by without killing anybody by hanging out with Leon (who is dead now) and Makoto (who is now spending most of his time with Kyoko) plans a murder to get out of the school.

She decides to try and kill Chihiro, as he’s the weakest of the survivors, and writes a note to him, asking him to meet in the warehouse.

Her plan goes similarly to the first case of the original game, she waits around a corner with a kitchen knife waiting for her victim. Chihiro ends up being late after running into Mondo and Ishimaru in the hallways, while Hifumi goes there to look for more anime merch to put in his room.

Sayaka ends up killing Hifumi by accident, thinking it was Chihiro.

Sayaka is later found guilty, and executed.

Case 5 and 6 go almost exactly like the original game cases, the difference this time being that instead of Mukuro, Kyoko suspects that Junko is the mastermind, as she’s ever appeared in front of them, when in fact, Junko has been dead from the beginning and stowed away into the body freezers, and her body is used at the crime scene with the white coat and mask.

Ishimaru originally put on the mask and attacked Makoto in his room, being chased off by Kyoko, who was locked out of her room by Byakuya. Later on, Ishimaru, Chihiro, Mondo, Byakuya, and Toko are in the gym taking Monokuma apart, while Kyoko is missing and Makoto is sleeping.

Junko’s body appears in the garden with the mask and coat, and the bomb that Genocider Syo activates burns the body beyond recognition.

The trial goes unfinished and the group accuses Makoto, sending him to his execution, but Alter Ego, who Makoto, Chihiro, and Kyoko planted into the school’s computer system, stops the execution, sending Makoto to the trash room where Kyoko rescues him.

Later, everybody begins exploring the school for the final investigation and the final trial. In the trial, they find that Junko was originally a mastermind but was killed, so the only one who could be the mastermind was someone in the room with them, as Kyoko found a laptop pointing to Monokuma being an AI like Chihiro’s AI, Alter Ego. (This is the Junko AI that Kamakura later manages to plant into the Neo World Program in SDR2)

Everyone begins to suspect each other until the evidence leads them to suspect Ishimaru, Mondo goes into an outrage at this and tries to defend Ishimaru, until eventually Ishimaru admits to being the mastermind, and to killing Junko.

He attempts to fill everyone with despair at the thought of being released into the outside world, and it works until Makoto gives everybody hope.  

They all vote against Ishimaru.

A different version of Super Duper Nasty Torture happens, where the executions go: Makoto’s (he wears a helmet and isnt killed by the crusher, dont question it Junko got hit by a pile driver in the original and survived), Sayaka’s, Hagakure’s, Asahina’s, Jin and Junko’s, and then Mukuro’s, with a twist.

Just before the bullet aimed for his head lands, an explosion goes off, knocking a hole in the wall and throwing Ishimaru into the outside world, while the survivors who are still watching are convinced that he died in the explosion, and he is proclaimed dead by the Future Foundation. The reality is that Kamakura managed to sneak into the building and set the explosion as a decoy, to make the world think that Ishimaru died, while allowing Ishimaru to escape the execution, albeit badly injured, but alive. Kamakura sneaks out of the building and grabs Ishimaru before anyone can find him, nurses him back to health while running from the future foundation, and the two manage to make it to Towa City, to call the Remnants of Despair to destroy the Future Foundation.

The survivors leave the building with the escape button that Ishimaru left behind, and are picked up by the Future Foundation, Makoto, Kyoko, Byakuya, and Toko follow the same roles they do in the original, while Chihiro helps with tech support and the Neo World Program for the Remnants, and Mondo acts as Byakuya’s backup force and meets Kanon Nakajima in Towa City, in Hagakure’s place.
