none of the character AI chatbots actually talk like the characters why are you satisfied with automated mediocrity
#when a roleplayer is clumsy and out of character it's okay they're trying and having fun and really it's in good fun#when a stupid beepboop program that is built to replicate a character's speech patterns Fails at replicating the speech patterns. uninstall#delete sys32. download bonzibuddy. unleash wannacry. shoot that fucking thing in the motherboard.#you deserve better babe. find a rp server.

ariane: elster i need you to delete sys32
#signalis#asking the bot within the simulations of the computer to delete the program running the simulation is a bit more complicated than sending#a command using the shell

So. I am having a lot of trauma recall that is explaining feelings of...
??? All the stuff.
And yeah, it's good that pre- you do therapy because I honestly need to take inventory of an absolutely distorted development of self around trauma that I... forgot that I remembered, somehow disturbingly well for the circumstances, once I start to write it out.
Huh.
I just figured it'd all always be fuzzy and there must be some generic-ness I can rely on, when it comes to healing from childhood shit.
But my experiences were fucking unhinged? Not just exceptional along a spectrum of violence or neglect, but deeply bizarre and purposeful manipulation.
Maybe my brain damage isn't as horrible as I thought. Maybe brain is doing very well at partitioning and hiding the real Sys32 folder inside a maze of unsearchable contents and hidden folders that are behind and withing malware or who the fuck knows. Duplicates. And halfway-restored registries. Paths that lead nowhere, inability to grant Admin privileges even though I am the admin, and it...

"A Hero Falls" by Michael Abels from NOPE
youtube
Had a moment earlier where I kinda started shutting down. Trump has his admiration of Hannibal the Cannibal but I happen to ~admire the actual man of said name.
Robert John Maudsley is an English man who has been in jail for the longest period in England. Initial charges of murdering a child/himself abuser. And several other similar such cases.
Apparently this past month he's been on a hunger strike after the guards confiscated his TV, Playstation, books.
My late birth father's name was Robert so I have a tendency to gravitate towards folks of said name. But this one has always bugged me because like. All his cases of violence have been against child molesters. He's kept in isolation, glass box, blah blah blah.
But just. I dunno.
So yeah. Kind of had a weird schizo moment on the bathroom. My body is sort of weird due to the catatonia. Like half of me will lock-up and my brain will refuse to move it. Or I'll have to deal with having a scolding voice when I do move something.
Unconsciously I felt that sort of expectation trying to force me to just sit there and wallow in self pity.
Which is just sort of odd. Anyways. Turning 32 in a week. Woo.
Not sure of the joke but something about System32. >_> been seeing the phrase/joke of a kid being told to delete Sys32 and it crashing their computer permanently.
Nice song from the film Nope. Or sad. Sad. My brain consistently tells me I am supposed to/allowed to/need? to listen to country music. But outside of that occasionally been getting more down time when I can just listen to music without being on alert.

Hereâs the thing; even if the person tangentially knew about winRAR, a second pair of eyes for anyone would be prudent. People make fake versions of programs (apps) thatâll have, say, a | instead of an l. Or a 0 instead of a O. They can even function exactly the same way, only with some nasty things working in the background. Your computer will get bogged down in hidden processes. Viruses will change their filenames and replace innocuous files you already had downloaded.
I promise u, if u havenât fallen for something thatâd get u a virus, it WILL happen eventually. Youâre going to overlook something simple one day and thatâll be It, which is why u get antivirus in the first place. Most of us have antivirus and arenât raw dogging browsing the internet, and if we hear of someone that is, we tell them to get some immediately.
It really isnât simple, and the only reason we can point and laugh is:
because we grew up with computers
Because we learned this lesson the hard way
Because we were taught, either by a savvier adult or in a computer lab class in elementary/middle school.
Because there were so many pop culture and memetic references/sources about, say, deleting system 32. (In the off occasion someone doesnât know that one, absolutely donât fucking touch sys32.)
Do yâall know the latest viruses by name, or even the types of viruses? Do you know what the latest ransomware is called and what files it may be hidden as? Do you even know what ransomware is yet?
You have to learn somewhere. I know yâall hate being made fun of for not knowing something. I was hoping you would take those experiences and go, âI shouldnât do that to someone, itâs really cruelâ instead of âoh boy, canât wait to do this to someone!â
I'm sorry, but I adamantly disagree.
This is very good behavior.
They didn't recognize the file extension.
They didn't recognize the EXE program.
And so they refused to open them.
That is excellent internet security hygiene.
They went to a trusted person (their brother) and verified WinRAR was legit and then proceeded to unpack the files.
How is this not *encouraging* for gen alpha? Is it just because they didn't know what WinRAR was? Who cares? I'm just proud they were being careful.
Unlike my boomer uncle who once installed so many spam search toolbars that there was no screen real estate left to show webpages.

V1o, new character :]
she is a trojan by technicallity, but in all reality is pretty harmless the most dangerous thing she can do to your computer is bluescreen it by somethingsomething triggering the kernel i forgot she can do that along with - move your files - screw with your mouse - eject the disk drive - look at things on your desktop - play audios (wavs, mp3s, oggs, etc) - open up command prompts and talk with you although she cant - access sys32 - outright delete files - open executables - run scripts - pretty much anything that would harm your computer oh yeah also this https://beta.character.ai/chat2?char=kcAfv-A6oCAeGnhBNA49qSHWihEm9W-VFzKGwZxG3qo i've had this for a while

is ISN'T! it still is very much an issue that can happen on new devices (tvs/monitors/etc)
if you have windows, you can go to Control Panel and search for "screen" (Mac and Linux users, you should have a similar path, but i dont know it off the dome)
It'll give you the default ones, but if youre like me and love retro shit (my discord is literally PC-98 themed lmao) take a peek at this video, it has a dl for the older screensaver themes and how to install them. (you will have to drag and drop files into sys32. ive vetted them, but be warned.) also here's After-Dark's Archive, incase the flying toasters enchanted you <3
do gen z and really young millenials realize that the most popular screensavers of the 1990s had SOUND?
I feel like it's important that y'all know that the After Dark screensavers, which were basically the most popular not-automatically-provided-with-Mac-or-Windows screensavers around, had sound. And were a thing. DO THE GEN Z BABIES KNOW SCREENSAVERS????? I SEE SO FEW THESE DAYS
#your tv should ALSO have screensaver options built in. phones however may not...#i have NOT tried after-dark's ones. so i cant vouch for them. but the first set i have and use.#i also cant get Underwater or Wildlife to work for me. but also those arent the ones i want so its fine.#poke around online. theres tons of fun ones. customize your user experience <3#also mac/linux may have some issue running the old windows screensavers. ive never checked if thats possible.#if not im SURE someone has made alternates.
