okay not an ask but ive been dying to see some filo reader x katsuki 🙏🙏 katsuki would be so mesmerized he would learn to cook every dish there is and ask if it tastes like home UGH MY BABY
i know its NOT an ask but ><
katsuki wasn’t one to ask for help, but for you? he’d do anything.
you had been feeling a little down lately, and he knew that one of the things that always made you feel better was your favorite filipino dish. the only problem? he had no damn clue how to make it.
which is how he found himself pacing in the kitchen, his phone pressed to his ear as it rang.
"hello? sino 'to? (who's this?)" your mom’s voice came through, warm and familiar.
"hey, tita (auntie)," katsuki greeted, a little awkwardly but determined to speak at least a little bit of tagalog. "it's katsuki. i, uh… need your help with something... po."
"oh?" she sounded amused. "what is it, 'nak? (child?)"
he cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck. "i wanna cook her favorite dish for her po, but... i dunno how. thought you could, y’know… teach me."
there was a pause, and then—laughter. "ay, ang sweet mo naman! (oh, you're so sweet!)"
he huffed, his cheeks warming. "tch. just help me out po, tita... please?"
your mom giggled but started giving him the instructions, step by step. katsuki listened intently, taking notes like it was the most important mission of his life. when he messed something up, your mom scolded him like he was her own son.
"no, no, not like that! ay nako (oh my gosh), katsuki, don’t burn it!"
"i’m not burning it!" he retorted, quickly adjusting the heat.
by the end of the call, he had the dish almost perfect—maybe not as good as your mom’s, but damn close.
"thank you po, tita," he muttered, a little embarrassed but genuinely grateful.
"of course, anak," she said fondly. "you take care of my baby, okay?"
he smiled softly. "always."
katsuki wasn’t the type to get nervous. he could take down villains, handle the most intense hero work, and push himself past his limits without hesitation.
but right now?
he had set everything up carefully—your favorite dish, cooked to the best of his ability, plated nicely in front of you. he sat across from you, arms crossed, but you could see the way his fingers tapped restlessly against his bicep.
"i know you’ve been feelin’ kinda down lately," he muttered, not quite meeting your eyes. "figured... maybe this would help."
you blinked at him, surprised, before looking down at the plate. your heart swelled. he did all of this for you?
"katsu..." you whispered, touched beyond words.
"just eat it already," he grumbled, trying to sound impatient, but you could see the way his jaw was tight, the slight furrow of his brows. he cared—he really cared.
so you took a bite.
the moment the flavors hit your tongue, a wave of emotions crashed over you. it wasn’t exactly like your mom’s, but it was damn close. the effort, the heart, the love behind it made it even better.
"this is amazing, kats," you said, looking up at him with genuine admiration. "how the hell did you pull this off? did you use a youtube tutorial? google recipes?"
katsuki scoffed, leaning back in his chair with a smug look. "tch. you think i’d trust some half-assed internet recipe?"
you raised an eyebrow. "then how—"
he huffed, looking away, suddenly seeming a little flustered. "called your mom," he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. "she walked me through it."
your eyes widened. "you called my mom?"
"yeah, yeah, don’t make a big deal out of it," he grumbled, avoiding your gaze. "figured if i was gonna do it, i’d do it right. so i asked the expert."
you stared at him for a moment, your heart swelling with warmth. "katsuki... that’s so—"
"shut up," he cut in quickly, face slightly pink. "just eat, dammit."
but you couldn’t help the grin that spread across your face. he had gone out of his way to talk to your mom, to learn something that would comfort you. it wasn’t just about the food—it was about you.
you took another bite, savoring the taste and the love behind it.
"i love you, y’know that?" you said, smiling at him.
katsuki clicked his tongue, trying to act unaffected, but the way his ears burned gave him away. "yeah, yeah… i love you too. just finish your damn food."
but when you looked down at your plate again, you felt his hand reach for yours under the table, giving it a small, firm squeeze. and that, more than anything, told you exactly how much he cared.
katsuki watched you like a hawk, leaning in just slightly. "does it… y’know… does it taste like home?"
your chest tightened, warmth blooming in your heart.
"it does," you murmured, squeezing his hand back. "it tastes like home because you feel like home, katsuki."
he stiffened for a second, almost not sure how to process your words.
"tch. sappy little shit," he muttered, but you could hear the smile in his voice, feel the way his grip tightened like he never wanted to let go.
"you're my home too, sweets."
‎‧₊˚✧[ it's me, kia ! ]✧˚₊‧ 。゚•┈꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱┈• 。゚ ‎‧₊˚✧[ more of katsuki ! ]✧˚₊‧

Christmas 2024 setup (this one is mine) Before the 2024 ends, let me share you my simple setup for Christmas 2024. I have a Nativity (Belen in Tagalog, Filipino language). I had this Belen since 2023. I purchased it from Parkson in NU Sentral. This year, I added the small red christmas tree. I got it from Eco Shop from NU Sentral. The Nativity Scene: A Reminder of the True Meaning of Christmas The Nativity Scene is not only a cherished emblem of Christmas but also a poignant reminder of the holiday's historical roots. Its origins date back centuries, serving as a narrative anchor that tells the story of Jesus Christ's birth, an event steeped in religious lore and tradition. This scene, a timeless tableau, captures the essence of Christmas, providing a bridge from the past to present celebrations. It is a tradition that has been embraced and perpetuated through the ages, allowing each generation to connect with the core meaning and values celebrated at Christmas time. #OFW #malaysia #CYBERTITO CYBERTITO – the uncle who loves information technology. Of Eerie Places and Kindhearted Strangers
It has been a long time since I've volunteered. Not counting my previous job where I had to work with underprivileged youth, I think my 2018 construction stint in Nepal was the most recent. More than 6 years ago if you think about it. Since I moved to a new city and sort of rebooted my life from scratch, (sort of being the operative word here), I've been immersing myself in activities that I've either always wanted to do, or have done before but for some reason, stopped.
I finally found a weekend volunteer activity that fit my schedule! It happens every Saturday at about 8am and takes half a day, and in a cemetery, a place I've always found fascinating but weirded other people out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Say hello to ATD 4th World's Ang Galing Literacy Program!
Here, we tutor children who live in the Manila North Cemetery and guide them as they read and write. The lessons are mostly in Tagalog as the kids are in elementary. Our tutorial area is a family mausoleum, with coffins and a pet cemetery within the enclosure.
Tumblr media
I did not know that there was a community within the cemetery. Families, proper water source, and transportation inside. Like a mini subdivision of sorts. But most live in poverty as they are often families of those hired by the mausoleum / lot owners as caretakers.
Tumblr media
It has been an interesting few months, having met new faces in the oddest of places, and getting to help out and develop a camaraderie with the children I've taught. When I got to attend their Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony, I was so proud of the kids! I look forward to next school year when we resume tutorial classes and I get to contribute to my community again.
Sorry for the short post, I just decided to write this down lest I forget again. Haha. `Til the next writing muse visit! :)

yes exactly!! i love thirteen getting to be the protective one, and i can see it being a little angsty, you know, a little -- for your own good, i will dump you, but also: thirteen has so little agency, so little control. and not in a toxic way, but like! give her someone to take care of, too! give her three stray cats and a girlfriend who forgets to eat because she's so busy watching youtube knitting tutorials!
and amy as someone who is interested in many things, passionate about many things, but also unmoored, sort of searching for a purpose, used to moving (ex-hippie parents, maybe), needing someone to help settle her down, to moor her. finding stability in remy, loving how kind and forceful and determined remy is, but also needing remy's more grounding presence. being so positive (maybe too positive sometimes), absolutely embracing remy's need to get as much out of life as she can, but also needing someone to help her slow down and stop and settle.
they live near-ish to the ocean, maybe a ten minute walk; you can kind of see a sliver of it from their bedroom window (they use the smaller bedroom as the master just for this reason). they have three strays (and feed many more) and walk to the beach almost every day. and try to learn greek and speak it to one another (badly), and remy gives Free Medical Advice (unlicensed!!) to all the old grannies and grandpas in their neighborhood and sometimes they take trips to stockholm or morroco or once (with a predictable tagalog) to australia!! i want these gals to have the nicest and sweetest life!!
Tumblr media
@ariemfox i have some silly amy HCs 👀 ....soooo self indulgent but who the hell cares
the most self-indulgent first: thirteen and amy met, completely accidentally, through chase. he wasn't trying to set them up or anything! he knows amy vaguely through his bowling league, they're not even friends, but one day he was out drinking with thirteen, saw amy, said hi, they hit it off, chase backed away with a "oh, no, this is going to be a Thing, isn't it." (it was)
she's part greek, her grandparents still live in greece, it wasn't a completely arbitrary decision for them to move there, although amy doesn't really speak it much better than thirteen. they're learning together! they both love to travel, they both want to see the world and learn and experience new things, that was a big point of connection for them.
thirteen absolutely tried to pull the "i'm being noble and dumping you" thing after a couple of months, and amy accepted it for like. fourteen hours. and then just laid it out like: if you want to dump me because you don't think this is going anywhere, fine, but if i am going to lose you, i don't want it to be for a noble reason; if our relationship is going to end, i want it to end in ten years, not two months. amy is maybe a little naive/idealistic to the reality of thirteen's illness (she's not a doctor, she's not familiar with huntington's), but she's like -- i love you, and you don't get to take my agency away here.
i think she's in academia. maybe history or linguistics. something really smart and knowledge based, but a completely different knowledge/skill set than thirteen, you know? and she's a dork. she likes to bowl. she's a rambler. she loves to travel and try new things but also is quick to get in over her head, both in positive ways (being willing to give remy her whole heart despite the future) and slightly negative ones ("let's move to greece!" "i'm going to learn to bake!"). in a weird way, i think this would work for them: thirteen is used to being the Sick Girl, the Girl Who Needs To Be Taken Care of, who is treated as fragile in some ways; she gets to take care of amy and be the grounded one.
but of course, this can and has spilled out into "you're being unrealistic about our future together/you're being naive" arguments. they get through it! maybe thirteen also needs a little bit of idealism in her life instead of house's universe of calculated cynicism!
indulgent again: chase and amy aren't really friends - they like one another because they both like thirteen a lot, that's about it - but thirteen is weirdly invested in them being friends, has joked about them getting together when she is gone, etc. this is not ever going to happen (amy is, in fact, a lesbian, despite thirteen's jokes about chase counting), but they indulge her a little.
amy isn't just a manic pixie dreamgirl, though. she's serious about her research and work, and her recklessness/impulsiveness/moving 5 times in 8 years is symptomatic about feeling out of control and unstable: she can veer into toxic positivity (because she doesn't want to always face reality). she and thirteen do fight sometimes, like any couple! but when gay marriage is legalized in the US, they get married, and they go back to greece, and amy starts and abandons her third novel and thirteen tries to learn to cook and they're very happy together <3

Philippines Fashion Style Lookbook I
In which Ai learns how to use GIMP to actually edit her lookbooks for once. (T▽T) This is my first time making an edit like this so apologies if it's very rough around the edges
First off, thanks to @itselliandra for her wonderful and absolutely amazing tutorial vid for showing me how to do all this! Which I wouldn't have found in the first place without browsing through @emmastillsims' beautiful lookbooks as well! ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊωˋ )ଓ⁾⁾
So, about this lookbook! For those that don't know, I'm a Filipino, and have lived in the Philippines pretty much my entire life! I wanted to share what kinds of styles and fashions were what I usually saw when traveling, going out, etc. ╰(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)╯
In the Philippines we definitely dress for the weather! It's usually hot and damp! Hence the more loose, showy, and flowy clothing!
From left to right, the styles in this lookbook are:
Hubadera - Coming from the Tagalog word "Hubad" which means bare or naked, this is a fashion style that emphasizes showing a lot of skin and feeling sexy. Think your Sim has the guts to pull off the hubadera lifestyle?
Basic - Simple and stylish! Beat the Filipino heat with a simple dress and light accessories to match. Whether going to the mall to hang out with friends, or meeting up with classmates for a group activity, sometimes basic is best!
Acubi - Minimalist and trendy, Acubi is a style that's in-between Y2K, minimalist and subversive. My sibling loves wearing this style and they were the one who suggested I include it! It apparently originates from Korea, and if there's one thing I know, it's that we Filipinos love all things Korean.
Tita of Manila - Literally meaning "Aunt/Auntie of Manila". With her designer bags (Whether they are real or secondhands she bought from an ukay-ukay is up for you to decide), expensive jewelry, and taste for wine and tea, the tita is a matron of class and privilege. Don't let her looks fool you, she can be as witty and as sharp as she needs to be!
I hope you all enjoy this one! I know I did as well! CC used and credits will be down below! Apologies if this one is super lengthy as far as my usual lookbooks go! ( ╥ω╥ )
Hubadera: Hair, Sunglasses on Head (By Erplederp, from an NSFW site), Choker, Top, Shorts (Base Game), Shoulder Bag (TSR), Navel Piercing (By Colores Urbanos, but I don't remember the link TwT), Rings, Nails, Thong, Platform Sandals
Basic: Hair, Earrings, Necklace, Dress, Watch, Shoulder Bag (TSR), Wedges (TSR)
Acubi: Hair, Earrings, Necklace, Cardigan, Skirt, Messenger Bag, Bra, Rings (TSR), Belly Piercing (TSR), Nails, Leg Warmers, Boots
Tita of Manila: Hair, Earrings, Eyeglasses (Base Game), Necklace, Dress, Pearl Bracelet, Purse (Adfly), Ring (TSR), Nails, Heels
Poses: @helgatisha
