The walk home was slow, you noticed.

A welcome change, none the less, considering the hectic atmosphere your schedule filled you with for the past few weeks.

You see them before they see you as you round the corner of a familiar street and start to trek the last few meters to your front door. Your friend, glances at you almost immediately though; something you ought to give her credit for—she always had a sixth sense when it came to noticing your presence.

If it was a good or bad thing, you can’t say. A quirk’s a quirk, you muse. Though, in this case, the situation she found herself in seemed almost comical. She’s standing, almost awkwardly, beside your dog who’s facing a man—crouched down and looking to be in an animated conversation (if you could call it as such) with him.

You snorted when she looked almost relieved when you drew closer. She kind of looked like a third wheel to the two of them. But in a way, you can’t blame the stranger. Your dog had always had a charm of his own—his energy drew those from the same wavelength.

“I was gonna go take him out for a walk,” your friend called out to which you smiled at.

“I can take it from here, thanks for watching him,” you reply, waving her off when she looks even more relieved. You roll your eyes as she mouths call me, with her eyes darting between you and the stranger (still crouched) in front of your dog.

You knew that look. And apparently she did too when your gaze towards him didn’t fly past her.

Then again, who would blame you? The stranger looked well built—even from the awkward position he was in, and the fact that your dog was already comfortable with him spoke volumes by your definition.

The monochrome black and white hair was an interesting feature, and so were the wide set of golden eyes he peered at him with—but somehow it fit. Last time you checked, solid gold was an unnatural eye color, but the stranger had a flair for making it look flawless.

Your dog notices you fairly quickly, though, automatically turning from him and facing you as you crouch down in a position similar to his and hold your palm out for him to nuzzle into.

“Hi,” you coo. He doesn’t say anything—expected, but his snout pushing against your palm was as much of a hello as a verbal one.

“Hi,” a voice across you replies, and if you didn’t have a good sense of balance, you would have tipped over. Right, you remember, he’s still here.

Looking forward and up, you notice the width of his smile and crinkle of his eyes before you process the greeting. He had a little halo behind him. Pretty, is a word that fits, but you don’t say that and smile at him instead.

“Hi,” you say again as you take the hand he offers to help you up. “(Y/n), the owner.”

“Bokuto Koutarou,” he replies, shaking your hand. It’s firm and precise, you notice; much like the handshakes you’re offered when you’ve closed a deal at work. For someone who smiled so freely—the grip in his hand told you there was more to him than just silly smiles and golden eyes.

“He’s really approachable,” he tells you. You smile.  “Yeah, he knows when to pick out the good ones,” you laugh. He beams at your comment, and leans down to pat his head again, so you can’t help but match his enthusiasm.

“New to the neighborhood?” you ask, and shakes his head no, still smiling.

“I’m from this neighborhood, but I’m home for a few months. Off season,” he explains and you nod your head.

“Ahh, I just moved in last month, so between us, I’m technically the new one here.”

“That’s a way to put it,” he laughs. The ends of your lip quirk up almost automatically you notice. Happiness was contagious, they said; they’re right, you conclude.

“I can watch him for you if you’d like; I’m home for the next couple of months anyway,” he offers, looking at you with an honest smile.

“We’ll see,” you laugh. “You’re not working from home?”

“Nah, off season, so coach gave us a couple months to rest.”

He picks up on your expression before you could articulate your thoughts, so he speaks again, “I’m playing for MSBY.”

You still stare back at him and let some seconds pass before he takes your silence as an answer and explains, “Volleyball.”

In a comical scenario, this would have been the part where a lightbulb were to ding above your head, but it isn’t—and in real life, you’re standing across a boy who looked to be more observant than you give him credit for, so you say, “Ah, don’t know much about it, sorry,” and offer a smile as consolation.

“I can always teach you,” he suggests.

“We’ll see,” you tell him again, repeating your words from some moments ago.

“It’s okay,” he says. “You don’t have to play if you don’t want to. I can just show you. I’m the ace after all.”

7PM was a nice part of your day. There was something about the relaxed pace on the walk home, and the neighborhood streets looking as busy in the mornings, and the general atmosphere of unwinding evident in the air. The sun’s dipped a little lower in the horizon by now, the tips just barely peeking as the golden hour shifts into a dark blue—but it’s the gentle hum of a television show drifting from an open window, and the thought of coming home, settling in, and reminiscing about your day that gives you all sorts of the domestic butterflies.

Bokuto Koutarou looked like he was right in place. Usually by now, you’d be halfway through the first show your TV has prerecorded earlier that day, and maybe on your second helping of dinner, but this was nice.

Sitting outside your home with your dog nestled between the two of you as you listened to him talk about nothing in the particular felt familiar to you. The way he’d occasionally shift and lean down to pat him on the head, and the way you’d give him a high five after a particularly witty comment felt almost like second nature to you.

He fit right in, you think.

Bokuto Koutarou with his monochrome hair, golden eyes, and extroverted personality fit right in despite the contrast of your usually quiet unwinding.

“I’m looking forward to seeing you around,” he says when the streetlights finally flicker on and he’s turned his heel to walk to the house conveniently right across yours.

“Yeah,” you wave, smiling. Me too, you finish in your thoughts as you turn and fit the key into the lock.

You’ve made it one step in the house, the room still quiet and lights still shut. You know that if you turn them on now, the first thing you’d most likely see was the photo wall you made with your friends. A compilation of all the impromptu travels and late night food trips. Good memories, you think. A part of home.

The house still sits in silence, save for your dog running to the kitchen, probably searching for his bowl of water, the pads of his feet audible on the wooden floors when your phone lights up with a text.

It’s from Bokuto, you notice, and it’s just a selfie he took with your dog earlier.

You smile. 

You flick the lights on and walk to the kitchen where your dog looks at you, fur a little wet from the water he must have drank. You show him the photo Bokuto sent you and smile again when he barks, recognizing the stranger he bonded with earlier. 

You could get used to this, you think. 

Your usual schedule may have shifted a little, but still, in a way, it kind of feels like coming home.

There were several kdramas that I discontinued because I was bored and just sorta disliked it (like it’s not my type). Most of these are action-genred dramas and the ones that are political and pretty heavy (like I didn’t finish vagabond and k2 although they are actually really good ones, I just don’t really like the genres that’s all), but out of all of these I’d probably hv to choose Abyss (stopped watching it after only 2 episodes) or Cheese In The Trap (THE ENDING OMGG I WANNA CRY 😭😭 CITT IS LITERALLY MY FAV WEBTOON AND THE DRAMA’S ENDING RUINED THE WHOLE THING)

Well I’ve known kdramas ever since I was little (I used to join my cousins sometimes while they were watching them) but as a summary, I liked dramas because of webtoon (like drama genre yk) and at that time my cousins and one of my aunt who were at my house at the time were binge-watching CLOY so I sorta joined and watched like half of it, and when it was done there were other kdrama reccs there (we were watching it on netflix) and one of them was WWWSK and I was sorta interested and curious so I decided to watch it with my aunt. Ever since then I’ve been obsessed with kdramas that I binge-watch them everyday lol

Technically the first drama I’ve finished was What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (step one on being a PSJ fan woohoooo), but back then when I was little I sometimes joined my cousins when they were watching The Heirs and My Love From The Star

Well if you’re talking about drama that I watched this year, it’ll be too many as I’ve only just started watching kdramas literally March this year, so I’ll only perceive this as my favorite drama that was released in 2020, which is Backstreet Rookie although a lot of ppl actually hated it. Personally I disagree with those points too (adult webtoon, prostitution, underaged kissing, etc) but I really like how it’s such a funny comical drama, like those types of dramas are my favorite

okay so i already talked about them meeting here (there’s more in my #st tag but i’m too lazy to link it) but anyway i want to talk more in depth about how this kind of crossover would work

the notion of the byers moving to derry (bob was talking about moving to maine in s2, so it would totally make sense) is SO FUNNY because at first everything is chill. maybe things even remain chill in hawkins bc the gate’s not open-open, technically, so maybe it’s kept tame and all??? and everyone’s like “oh hey maybe we can chill”

and then psych it’s murder clown time

also i feel like el is psychic so she has to be able to sense the clown. maybe will can also sense the clown. maybe they’re both just there like “hm this town is oddly forboding.” also if they move when they’re like 14 in ‘85 then the losers are... uh... 10? and richie and mike have to be related so mike’s gotta be like “ugh my dumb little cousin lives there” and el and will introduce themselves and now they straight up have this 5th grader imprinted on them like a wildly annoying duckling and they tell mike and mike’s like “yeah he’s the worst”

i feel like el would have to be homeschooled? like there’s no way she could just join into high school when we’ve seen in canon that she can barely write and she has a really limited vocabulary, so joyce definitely buys her books and maybe she meets up with mike h. and is immediately fascinated bc she did not know more people could have the same name and mike h is therefore immediately like oh who is this odd girl who is surprised by people named michael of all things so they end up being friends??? 

10 year old baby mike h just showing el around the town bc he doesn’t actually have friends??? and actually i just thought of this but i’m literally dead over this actually. will and el just biking around with mike h and baby richie keeps showing up to chase after them bc they’re his dumb nerd cousin’s older friends and he can’t be chill and mike joins the losers club 4 years early??? and now el and will have lowkey adopted 5 entire children like steve adopted them when he was in high school and el is confused and bewildered by richie (and eddie) and they’re way too loud for will but he copes bc it’s a new town and he’s lonely and learns how to tame them kinda when they follow el home like a bunch of little ducklings by getting them invested in what he’s drawing or teaching them about dnd even though they’re way too spazzy for it and richie complains about how it’s not as cool as video games and bill and eddie keep going off road and mike w is all cranky bc yes, okay, he did say he’s getting too old for dnd and he’s sorry but seriously will is replacing him with his dumb little cousin???? and will’s like “are you seriously jealous of a child that shoved a figurine up his nose last time we played, i’m just trying to keep them from screaming” and mike’s like “... i mean okay point taken but...”

joyce does her best to keep el from revealing she has powers but then when she realizes the tiny kids she’s surrounded herself with are being bullied by bowers and co she makes sure to take care of it and richie’s the first one to catch on like “AAAAAAAAA MY DUMB NERD COUSIN GOT A SUPERHERO GIRLFRIEND WHAT THE FUCK?????????” and then he badgers her with a million questions until she literally just claps her hand over his mouth and holds it there shushing him

and then georgie goes missing in ‘89 and will wants to help find him like he was found but el can tell right away that georgie’s already dead and that there’s something here and they decide to help kill it

also like can joyce help them against pennywise? clearly the curse doesn’t entirely push adults away bc betty ripsom’s mom was still looking for her, but at the same time it clearly skews adult’s perception of reality. i imagine it would be literally terrifying for will to have joyce not believe him about something going on and also that would be sad so i’m just imagining her believing them but they have to remind her about it every five minutes. just like “wait what are we doing?” “we’re killing a clown” “oh yes yeah that clown. right. i know. wait what?” “we’re going to KILL a CLOWN” “oh, yeah, okay”

the rest of the party comes up to maine to help and eddie despises mike w SO MUCH because he’s an older teenager who looks like richie but, like, hot and eddie’s like “what the FUCK” and then they go clown hunting and el totally murders the clown bc she’s probably more powerful than it by far

Even in a city like Miami, Hana is hard to miss in a crowd. Bubblegum bursts, her lazy chew concealing the switchblade sharp smirk that slides across her mouth a little too late for anyone to be able to avoid the trouble that comes from it. She thinks she’s wired up wrong, like a casino gambling machine full of bullets that just keeps dishing out violence while playing its disjointed electric-warped song of congratulations, bright lights flashing wildly.

To your left, a man walking his pet leopard down the sidewalk; to the right, Hana Mercado paralysing a man with the touch of a fingertip for wolf-whistling her. She fits in well here, Florida born and raised, helping the drug lords keep their territories and the mutants keep their identities and everyone and anyone in between keep what’s left of their slowly unravelling sanity. Despite the bustling sea of tourists that ebbs and flows with the good weather, it’s easy to feel lonely. Hana isn’t great when it comes to other people. Pushing them away is a lot less difficult than making them stay.

Everything is loud. Everything is bright. The electricity is near palpable as she splashes through the remnants of a thunderstorm, rainwater spraying over fresh white sneakers. She’s quiet when the sun sets, bleeding red across the sky, the colour of the popsicles she’d eat for dinner as a kid. It’s hard to fear the consequences of her actions when she’s as close to a young god as anyone’s ever going to get. Mutants? Deities? Same difference if you know how to play to the right narrative.

Fuck you has always been easier to spit than a genuinely spoken I love you and that’s the honest-to-fuck truth.

BIO:

Money is power. And power is power. And electricity? The sort that decorates the country like a spiderweb, an interwoven network of wires, all humming, all singing to her, the siren’s call of greatness from above ground and beneath it? Power.

Hana is a vicious formation of blood and desire, with the scent of someone burning from the inside inhaled like a nicotine hit. Interrogation comes naturally to her; smiles that should be sweet on a face like hers turn sharp and deadly. She likes to hear them beg. To watch them shake. People spill their secrets to her whether they like it or not.

It’s been that way since she was nineteen years old, static dancing between her fingertips after getting too riled up in an argument with a neighbour’s son over stealing her family’s gas cylinder. An impromptu lightning strike had left the tarmac lining the trailer park sizzling, black and sticky like summertime ( and don’t worry, the Cheeto-dust-decorated-rude-mouthed-slacker-of-a-punk-ass-brat had survived – getting hit by lightning suddenly made him interesting, too, so if anything she’d been doing him a favour ).

A freak accident, they’d called it. Another one of those unexpected Florida storms. But she knew better than that. As had her mom, smoking a fresh pack of Camel Blues from the other side of the door’s insect screen, fresh foils in her hair, acrylic nails the colour of the algae in the neglected community pool down the street. Thinking back, maybe this all stemmed from swallowing too much of that fucking nuclear-waste-looking water when she’d dared to swim there as a kid, hot and sweaty as a storm breaks on the horizon.

But the point – the point is that, to her mom, having the human embodiment of Pikachu as a daughter was as good as winning a jackpot at one of her weekly bingo sessions. She tries to sell it. Power. The ability to pluck electricity from charged particles in the air makes her daughter useful. A living battery. Studies on mutants at University of Miami dish out hefty paychecks after the right terms and conditions have been signed ( note: if you die, that’s on you, don’t try to sue us ). Hana attempts to protest but even she can’t deny that the allure of getting rich sounds like a dream come true.

So she goes to college. Not in the usual sense, sure, but she gets to live on campus ( in a secure underground testing facility beneath the BioMed building ) and hang out with others ( mostly mutants ) her age. And it’s fine for a while until simple fitness tests and blood sampling turn more extreme. Some days are hazy, pumped full of drugs and hooked up to machines that she doesn’t know the name of, let alone the purpose, beeping their own idle hospital-like symphony. Other days are dark and quiet, plunged into sensory deprivation for the sake of whatever it is the boffins in their lab coats are trying to figure out.

She’ll get rich or die trying and, ironically, neither of those things happens.

When the anti-mutant-testing protestors storm the building, they free Hana from both the confinement and the contract. The money she was supposed to get at the end of all this vanishes, along with the pleased looking humans who pat themselves on the back for doing a good deed and disappear to go and celebrate. None of them ask her if this was what she wanted. None of them stop to think that maybe liberation was never an option for her.

Her mom’s gone too. A new trailer stands where Hana’s home once had. The monthly paychecks from the university never reached her bank account, instead wired directly to Mrs Mercado. She laughs until she cries, the air crackling overhead.

After all that, turning to a life of crime is far easier than it has any right to be. Angry and alone, she fucks a guy in a gang in the back of his drop-top and makes herself useful when it comes to getting money out of those who owe it. She runs from the cops. Has a gun pressed to her temple. Watches an illegal weed farm burn at the flick of a lighter. Nothing phases her because she doesn’t let it. Rules stop meaning anything when you realise just what having powers can get you. Making a living from getting spineless people to open up their mouths and offer the gold that is information makes her feel a little less like a failure. Interrogation has a nice ring to it, after all. And once she makes a name for herself, sought after by those who know that secrets are worth a decent stack of bills – well – who is she to turn a job down?

EXPANDED CONNECTIONS:

YVETTE. It’s more than just the sticky sweet sugar of sisterhood. Hana would fight tooth and nail for Yvette should she say the word; would go to war for her if needed. There are very few people in the world that she cares about more than herself, but her partner ( in crime, in the sport of bringing their enemies down, in a vodka-tasting kiss that she’s managed to take a little too far ) holds the throne to Hana’s adoration. If only Yvette would take another step further into chaos and embrace becoming the seductive sort of danger that people run from.

ANDREAS. He knows how to say the right things, she’ll give him that. Hana wants what is hers. And sure, she may not know what that is exactly but the whispers of power he offers are captivating. After so long of operating alone for anyone with enough money to afford her services, the concept of joining strengths is a tricky one to navigate. She keeps him waiting, keeps him on his toes, avoiding a crystal clear answer for the sake of keeping her cards close to her chest. Better to have multiple options on the table than settling for the first one that comes along.

DEREK. Oh, the joy of knowing she’s the shiny new model; a glossy picture-perfect upgrade; a brand new battery to keep Damien and his clowns energised. The temptation of coaxing out Derek’s anger to watch him slip up and fall further from grace is all too great. She’ll press a cherry red lipstick kiss to the dark shades of the sunglasses he will no doubt need down here in paradise. Her future is bright, can he say the same about his own?

DAMIEN ft. JACKSON. He sends his loyal hound. She can only assume that Jackson is missing a collar because he doesn’t like wearing it in public; his Tiffany heart-shaped dog tag would probably get too warm glinting in the Miami sunshine. Hana knows a mob boss pet when she sees one, sniffing her out amongst the cheap cocktails and plastic palms of a Tiki Bar on Ocean Drive. Who’s a good boy? It’s appealing, the carefully constructed dream Damien offers. Almost a little too good to be true given the circumstances. She knows his gang has chased others out, a fine show of strength and organisation, but how long will it last when he doesn’t even know this city?

who is your bias: kim seunghun (of silver boys) aka honey boy

what made you notice him: i don’t really know what exactly it was about him? but when silver boys appeared on skz, i was instantly drawn to him, despite initially anticipating to see yedam&rae. he just has this charm..? charisma..? and i’ve heard many people say the exact same thing about him, so i’m convinced he has something special. when he came in after yedam during ‘why so lonely’ .. yeahh, i still remember how i felt hearing him sing for the first time. he left the biggest impression so i’m completely clueless how i didn’t recognise him right away when ygtb intro vids began. anyway, i was waiting for all of silver boys since we now knew them, but i was most familiar with the mixnine trio, so i was positive they’ll probably remain my faves since I was already very attached to them. but when seunghun’s intro vid came in I just... gasped.. he did it again. and when he sang ‘you are my lady’ ..i nearly cried. i technically fell for him twice, so i couldn’t wait to find out more about him :)

what is your favourite thing about him: god i don’t know, i love this boy with everything i have? it was weird at first because it usually takes a while for me to pick my bias, but he was just like ‘no bitch, you mine,’ within like 5 seconds, and the more i saw of him, the more i loved him. he just kept proving he’s the sweetest, most caring, loving and compassionate person & friend. his strength and perseverance are untouchable, he is goofy, a meme, a clown, clingy and annoying, reliable, a sunshine, i just love everything about him. he’s tall, has the most beautiful smile, lips, hands, neck... the way he started training to fulfil his mum’s dream of becoming an idol when she was younger although that’s not what he originally wanted? they way he chose to sing ‘d half moon’ when he knew ‘beautiful’ was his song, just so he doesn’t go against junkyu? the way he loves and appreciates honeys and mates?? he’s so wholesome i cry

I'm being boring and trying to rationalize something about Pennywise:

Let's talk sewer clown under the cut: (tw:: I'm talking about the sewer demon like I don't think I can tag everything pls proceed with caution)

This is really really thought of in thinking of the 2017 movie as the simple canon for the situation but I can't help shoving a bit of the book in there:

Why doesn't pennywise touch / physically hurt the kids?

(Other than: simple Hollywood magic no one actually wants to watch children be hurt. Or if they do they can go to fucking jail for all I care.)

But no I'd say the scared-est we see A child in the film is when he rips Georgie's fucking arm off (& my poor strong baby still tries to run. Talk about strong and brave jfc.) and then we're basically to assume he ate Georgie soon after? Maybe closely followed by watching Patrick in the sewers? Who we are also to assume is eaten ... eventually?

I've heard the rationalization that like pennywise can wait longer after he's had a few kills down to eat which is why he waits to kill bev. (But honestly that entire fucking plot makes no damn sense any way you spin it I'm Just Saying. Anyway.) but like. If she's not scared of him... why doesn't he just start like ripping out fingers. She'd be pretty fucking scared pretty fucking quick. I'd say that he doesn't know physical pain as a piece of his bag of tricks but he clearly does? Does he require a base level of fear to feed off of before he can do anything else? If so, why can he transform at all when the kids are in the sewer pretty clearly no longer afraid of him Bc he just got the shit hit out of him by richie (which would be embarrassing for anyone lbr here.)

We could say : simple technicalities. It's a film. No one wants to watch kids get tortured. But there was much stranger shit in the books... and even as adults, pennywise really does not lay a hand on them. Why??? {he threatens to give richie cancer. richie believes he can. why not...just...do it? i’d say amongst the scariest things adults can discover is a cancer diagnosis. and he can clearly see richie is terrified of it. but then he lets him go and doesnt do it? why?} I find it so strange, especially Bc of Georgie being a very much...prelude to the rest of the novel.

Tl;dr: In which a plucky tealblood attempts to find concupiscent quadrants for herself and her clade before drone season arrives but is slowed by the confusing attentions of a local seadweller and the machinations of his best friend’s moirail; meanwhile, a rogue clown seduces the tealblood’s moirail’s auspistice with nefarious intent and the tealblood is courted in flush by a cerulean of comically haughty disposition, providing a reflection of the tealnlood’s own prejudice against her seadweller suitor, who is not (as she believed) flirting with her caliginously, but rather flushedly, though this will not be revealed until the end of the second act [insert another twenty lines of title here, i’m too tired to do it]
