Just finished rewatching We're All Doomed
And DAMN does it hit hard on the second watch.
Something that really resonated with me was the idea of consistently not being happy, but not being devastated. Of always waiting for the future. Of essentially being the "meh" emoji. And I used to really suffer with this, then I transitioned (yay), and was fine, for a while.
But recently it feels like I'm grasping at straws to find anything that will keep me going, just these last few months until I finally finish school and move out. I can feel myself sinking further and further into this hole and what's worse is that I know I'm sinking, but don't know how to prevent it.
So I've taken to creating. I'm consistently writing 1000 words a day, almost every day. I'm starting to make videos. I'm doing whatever the hell I can to create something worthwhile while I'm here, because I don't feel like I'm doing anything of worth unless I'm creating. And that's helping, a bit.
But Dan reminded me of something essential that I think I'd forgotten, and it's that we need to find the beauty in everyday life. And yeah, it's cliché. Yeah, everyone says that. But it's true.
Nobody is measured solely upon their production. I am not worthy just because I create things, even though it makes me happy. While it's tempting, it's not healthy to shut myself in my room and work myself to death until 2am every night.
Taking walks helps with this. Participating in school activities helps. Playing music helps. Reading helps.
I think it's healthy and productive to find a project to work on, for my own sake to have something other than school work I can feel productive about. I've realized I will never be happy in life unless I am creating.
But I'm sure Dan's been there, and I have a feeling he came out the other side a little worse for wear. I can't create things unless I care for myself and find the joy in everyday life, which can be so hard when every day feels the same, every day feels like I'm just waiting for the next thing.
Being alive is a gift. And i thank We're All Doomed for reminding me of that because I needed to remember.

Constantly citing this article and the studies it uses.
Here's a quote:
"That study shows that transmasculine individuals were actually more likely to be victims of childhood sexual assault, adult sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking than were transfeminine individuals (as shown in the chart below).
The only category in which trans women were more likely to be victimized was by hate violence, and even there the difference was small: 30 percent of trans women reported having experienced hate violence, compared to 29 percent of trans men."

me when my meteor-powered robot gf attempts to murder me 😳😳
#context:#after Bortom city recognized Beatrix as a threat and began persecuting her‚ she became widely known#A great reward would be given to those who captured the runaway android‚ and most people feared her.#To sum it up‚ she was alone in her journey and refusing to trust anyone so easily.#The persecutions got worse when more cities allied themselves with Bortom. This attracted robot hunters.#At some point‚ Beatrix met this golden-eyed‚ humanoid shadow that always seemed to watch her from afar#It wouldn't stop following her‚ until it was close enough to initiate a confrontation#Beatrix was basically FED UP with the persecutions and so she fought using her fists... while he had a gun.#The bullets couldn't cause great damage‚ and were actually microchips designed to stunt robotic enemies#Beatrix barely resisted the effects and managed to take down the other... who raised its hands in defeat.#Imagine the situation: She's literally got him on the ground‚ fist raised to deliver a powerful blow while he's SHAKING IN HIS BOOTS#Turns out the microchips take effect‚ and Beatrix attempts to escape before it's too late... But her systems go off abruptly#...Then she wakes up in this cozy workshop of sorts. She goes outside and BOOM!!!#A ship moved by machinery? Robots living peacefully? People walking past her without batting an eye? This must be a dream!#She's finally found Fusionsprunt (or was found but it). The city built for and by rebells like her.#and about the golden-eyed enemy? yeah uh. that's Hunter. of course that was Hunter. he could NOT resist making a dramatic appearance.#the mysterious enemy is actually just some silly guy w workaholic tendencies father of a prodigy and who also enjoys piloting his spaceship#fusionsprunt#fusionsprunt hunter#fusionsprunt beatrix

gojo would kill your work husband. but if he were the work husband, that's a different story
REAL!! he’s such a hypocrite because if someone mentioned you had a work husband, his entire world would stop and he wold devise the absolute worst plans to make sure that your co-worker, everyone at your job, and everyone in the next building over knew that he was happily committed to you
but if he is the work husband, he’s very........ dutiful in his role. there’s a loose office/lawyer au in my head where satoru is your secretary, and for all intents and purposes, your personal assistant, and he’s good at his job, but mostly because he considers his job to be pleasing you. he has coffee for you when you arrive, he moves your schedule around without you asking, he has answers to questions before you can even ask them, he has fresh flowers on your desk weekly, pokes into your meetings to pretend to hand you a file that’s really just maybe a single document in a manilla folder with candy on top of it—he’s made himself your business, your partner; he’s made himself irreplaceable, and he loves to remind everybody of that fact.
he’s also extremely loyal. sure, he could day a week’s worth of work done in about a day, but that doesn’t mean he’ll just use his talents for anybody. he’s your secretary, so he’s at your beck and call, and everyone knows it. they know he’s the best, but also that he’s off limits—not because you won’t share him, but because satoru won’t let himself be shared.
he also extends his duties beyond work, of course. when he hands you a print out of your schedule for the day and you’re confused by the three-hour block of time you have in the middle of the day, satoru just helps you shrug your coat of your shoulders and smiles, “that’s for the lunch date you have with me, of course!” hanging up your coat in your closet for you, “i’m paying, see you soon, sweets.” and because you’re great at your job, and satoru helps you be great, nobody really questions when the two of you have time for a 13-course tasting menu at 1pm on a tuesday afternoon. and if they did, all satoru would say that you two had a lovely date
#anonymous#he's like donna from suits but worse because he's like if harvey were donna LOL#i have soooooo much to say about him#he doesn't really Have to work he's a nepotism baby supreme#but he met you maybe in undergrad? and he's been obsessed w you since#he knows youre a workaholic so he's dutifully sat by your side all these years through college through grad/professional school#and when you told him you got to hire your own assistant he was the very first applicant#because getting paid to spend his days with you and take care of you? he was already doing that for free might as well make it official#everyone in the office knows satoru loves you except you honestly#he probably has his own masters/JD but elects to be your assistant anyway bc that's so much more fun#what he Really wants to be a househusband but first he's gotta ask you out and propose and all that good stuff (cue him rolling his eyes#and going on about formalities and boring systems and blah blah blah)#also in the office au in my head: nanami (also senior partner) higuruma ofc <3 beloved (managing partner) and TOJI!#WALK WITH ME!#its honestly probably satoru's influence that gets toji into law... as someone who so feverently broke it in the past#idk maybe there's a megumi situation that makes gojo be like yk if ur this good at skirting/breaking the law youd probably be half decent#at enforcing it... or at least helping other people get around it too#and so lawyer toji is born#does he screw around w the rich people who r stupid w their money? absolutely#but you nanami and higuruma just let it be bc he brings in those settlements better than anybody else....#hmmm... i kinda wanna make megumi somebody's associate but also..... yuuta.....#i think i just like sticking yuuta in a tie if im being real#but anyway... satoru is your Work Husband and everyone knows he wants to be your real husband#but they just let it slide bc rumour has it even tho hes just a secretary hes got equity in the firm?? and besides that his heart eyes give#away his hopeless devotion from a mile away#the day you actually start seeing somebody outside of work... oh theyre in for Trouble#satoru x reader#him dragging you out of ur office late at night and u protesting so he just. puts u over his shoulder#and ur telling him to let u down but he's insisting u go home and then nanami pops out of his office#and ur like wait nanami this isnt what it looks like but he's so dead in the eyes when he just sighs

I know my experience is not universal, but I biked 5+ miles to do my errands today and I genuinely think we'd be much happier as a human collective if we increased residential density and switched to largely alternative modes of transportation.

i don't want to go into too much detail about my life and how i connected to LT, but just know i am not entirely comfortable with what i am seeing on my dash. a few years ago circumstances lead to me losing my hearing for majority of a year and then became hard hearing for a period of time before i regained my hearing back. its not fully where it used to be but that loss, that hope, and what you take with you on the other side stays with you long after the recovery. i know because i see it every time my mom is in remission.
and then a few months ago, i got a concussion which lead to me being momentarily unable to walk without an caregiver/walker/cane. i worked hard on my PT and now am able to manage on my own two feet again as of three weeks ago.
all i am saying is sure hating on part 4 is your opinion and might not be for you but there are people in your life and maybe on your dash that are reading what you think about people who were disabled at a time of their life, are on their way to recovery now, or got the treatment they've been waiting for. the hardships, the journey, even all the good that happened during allllll that still matters after recovery.

Altaïr: Wait, When did I get a cult?
Malik: Better question- where’d you get the kittens?!
Desmond: More important question- Why are we in Renaissance Italy!!
Ezio: ???
When Desmond accepted his death, he expected to die.
Did he believe in the afterlife?
Not really.
The Farm had never been religious and all those lessons about how the Templars used religion only served to make Desmond ignore it altogether.
Not because he was appalled by the Templars’ ways or because he didn’t believe in a higher being or something deep like that.
No.
He avoided religion because it was boring.
To be more exact, after hearing the same lessons about the connection of the Templars to religion, it became boring.
Just another reminder of his life on the Farm.
So no.
Desmond never thought about the afterlife.
He always assumed he would die and that would be it.
Kaput.
End of story.
Whatever disappointing story he had, anyway.
It might have been disappointing for someone like William Miles but it was a nice one for Desmond. His life in New York felt like a dream. It wasn’t always a happy dream but it was…
Nice.
It felt real.
He felt real.
So when he woke up in one of the Assassin Tombs in Italy, Desmond knew he was alive.
He felt real.
He had to alive.
Then he heard two more people slowly get up and Desmond wondered if this was the afterlife.
Why else would Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad and Malik Al-Sayf be waking up in the same place as him.
When he learned that they were in Renaissance Italy, his first thoughts had been about Ezio. He wanted to find him. He wanted to see him. To make sure he was okay.
He had woken up too late though. The same day as the execution of his father and brothers… in Venice of all places.
He could, theoretically, go to Monteriggioni and meet with Ezio there but… Altaïr and Malik weren’t fit to travel. Something was ‘strange’ about their body, like they weren’t use to it. And it wasn’t just because they had their left ring finger. Malik admitted he could feel the pain of losing his arm over and over again. Altaïr’s body would give up after a few minutes and he seemed to be moving through sheer willpower (or stubbornness… both, it was always both with him) so their priority was to find a secure hideout that wasn’t a tomb.
It took an entire day for Desmond to get enough funds to buy them a small house in Venice and a change of clothes (pretending to be a foreigner who wishes to learn from the great artists worked enough to make the tailor less suspicious… a bit). Desmond didn’t bother to hire any servants and focused on helping Altaïr and Malik get used to their new bodies.
They both remembered up to their deaths and that left countless scars inside them. Altaïr theorized that they need to get use to their new bodies because they had been used to their weakening old bodies. Their new bodies seemed to have been created with the idea of them in their prime.
Before the failure in the temple underneath Jerusalem…
By the time Ezio entered Venice, he had already heard about them. The strange three men who kept to themselves, assisting the thieves of Venice for a price.
Most of the time the price they ask for was information.
Sometimes, they would ask for an IOU, their way of saying the thieves owe them a favor. They mostly used those favors to get the thieves to distract certain guards or to be bait.
Ezio heard from Mario that he should make their acquaintances and greet them before doing any missions in Venice.
It was their turf after all.
He did not expect their home to be a warm one.
… with lots of cats.
Too many cats.
“Altaïr! Who is this?!”
Ezio stepped inside the open doorway that led to the inner courtyard where he heard the shouting. A man wearing simple white robes held a black cat by the armpits in his arms, glaring at another man who was sitting underneath the great tree in the middle of the courtyard. Four cats were sleeping around him and he was petting another cat that was curled on his lap absentmindedly.
“That one followed me yesterday. Ask Desmond what to name that one.” The man named Altaïr-
Wait.
Altaïr?
“Stop bringing more cats! We spend more for their food than we do for ours!”
“Hello?”
Ezio turned around to the sound of the voice behind him. He didn’t even notice him approaching Ezio from behind.
The man standing in front of him holding a small stack of books smiled at him as he said, “It’s nice to finally see you, Ezio.”
“My name Desmond Ibn-La'Ahad. Welcome to our bureau.”

When Steve and Eddie start dating Wayne pulls Steve aside and is like “I know this sounds odd but you’re gonna have to take him on walks every once in a while.”
And Steve is just like “?? Sir? He is not a dog?”
Wayne gives him a slightly haunted look, muttering “sometimes I wonder,” under his breath before clearing his throat and telling Steve to just trust him on this one.
Steve thinks this is probably something Wayne had to do when Eddie was a child to get him out of the house but the man is a full-grown adult now, Steve is not gonna walk him.
He kind of forgets about it until one day. Eddie’s been staying at Steve’s for the week and he gets home from work only to find the kitchen absolutely wrecked. He finds Eddie in another room standing in a pile of books. He very slowly approaches him, putting his hands out and making his voice soft and as carefully as he can being like, “Hey, babe, what’s up?”
Eddie whips around, eyes big and wild, rambling almost too fast for Steve to understand. “I needed to make a cake but I didn’t have a recipe so I improvised and that did not work so I went to find a recipe and did you know there are like fifty-year-old medical books here? There are so many descriptions of gross stuff in them.” He waves one of Steve’s granddads old books around and Steve has to lean back to not get smacked by it.
“Yeah… my granddad was a doctor,” he says all while eyeing him warily.
His hair is frizzier than usual and he’s about to turn around to grab more books and Steve does not know what this is or what to do? Should he do something? That’s when he remembers what Wayne said about walks and the way he had looked, a bit stressed and disbelieving. It’s about how Steve is feeling right now so he might as well try, right?
So he grabs Eddie, pulling him along towards the door, making up the first excuse he can think of. “Speaking of my granddad, he built a tree-house for me in the woods behind the house, let’s go look.”
He walks into the woods at the wrong opening, leading them kind of far in before turning around to wander and pretending to look. He finally steers them back to where the tree-house actually is, all in its tiny rotten glory, and right at the edge of the lawn.
“Guess it was closer than I remember,” he says with a shrug as if dragging Eddie around for twenty minutes insisting it was further in is in any way a believable mistake.
Eddie gives him a look like he’s acting insane, which, okay fair but Eddie did start it. And anyways he looks better now, judgmental as all hell but better.
“Cool,” He eventually says then stomps back inside.
Eddie spends the rest of the day making fun of Steve for getting lost in the woods where he grew up but he’s not climbing the walls anymore so Steve counts it as a win.
After that he brings Eddie on regular walks, tells him it’s because he doesn’t do sports anymore and needs to move, doesn’t always feel like running and it’s boring going alone. Eddie accepts it easily but also says it’s so weird because Wayne will also drag him along on walks, and, like, what about him attracts these people who need to go on walks all the time and can’t do it alone?
Steve and Wayne have a pact to never tell Eddie, they do not even want to imagine how that would go because Eddie is a drama queen at heart and their system is working (until years later when Steve and Eddie live together hours away and Steve goes on a trip with Robin, he comes back to Eddie on his way to turn their living room into a greenhouse)
