“It’s not like I like them or anything,” Bruce mutters. Selina gives him an absolutely pitying look. 

“Of course not,” she agrees mildly, like the man’s not currently holding a tiny baby girl curled up in his cape and sniffling into his body armor. It’s a vast improvement over thirty seconds ago, when she was the one holding said tiny baby girl and said tiny baby girl was trying to scream down this entire warehouse. 

But Bruce of course doesn’t like her. Couldn’t possibly. Ever. Certainly doesn’t have any weakness for children whatsoever, in fact. 

She is a sweet little kitten of a child, Selina has to admit. 

Well, when she isn’t screaming, anyway.

WIP Wednesday req for @tarheelwindrunner; Switchboys (if it is the reverse Robin Superboy switch thing I think it is). Spoiler, friend: it is not the thing you think it is, haha. ( I WILL NEVER STOP STARTING NEW WIPS. )

"Why?" Superboy asks, frowning at him in bemusement. Match frowns back. 

"Dude," he says, pointing back and forth between them. "Same DNA, right? You'd be like, my brother. Or my dad, maybe, but that seems weirder given us being sort of the same age and all so let's go with 'brother'. So I'm not gonna kill–actually, kinda don't think I'm gonna kill anybody? Like, I'm really not feeling it on that one, thanks but no thanks."

WIP Wednesday fill for @tarheelwindrunner; Clark panic-adopts his teenage clones.

Match doesn’t really think Superman intends to cull either of them, but he also doesn’t understand what Superman wants, both in general and right now. He and Thirteen are irrelevant to Superman. They don’t matter to him. 

So why did he retrieve Thirteen and steal Match and bring them both here, and why is he wasting resources on Match’s injuries and instructing his AI to scan their systems and put them in the . . . register? 

It doesn’t make sense.

song-exchange WIP Wednesday response for @tarheelwindrunner: I’ve told you before, but Call Me Cute and Feed Me Sugar’s version of Tim gives me ALL the Midnights and Reputation vibes, so that’s somehow both Mastermind and Look What You Made Me Fo by Taylor Swift.

Kon doesn’t text him back right away; Tim goes back to his corkboard for a little while and starts working on some more pros and cons of smartwatches. There’s a decent amount of pros, but he doesn’t necessarily want to give Kon something else he might worry about breaking, so a smartwatch might not be ideal for–

Kon called him “daddy” in all three texts he sent after he told him he’d call him “baby” if he kept it up, Tim belatedly realizes, and then stopped texting. So is he teasing him, or . . . 

Well. Is Kon just teasing him, or is Kon trying to get him to follow through on the “threat” he made there? Does he actually want him to call him . . .

WIP Wednesday req for @tarheelwindrunner; "when I see myself, I always know where you are".

“I’m . . . let me get you something else to wear,” Superman says abruptly, his voice a little tight, and then vanishes in a blur. Match barely has time to be annoyed before he’s back with a tacky purple sweatshirt and a pair of gray sweatpants with a drawstring waist. Both are definitely too big for Match, but apparently Superman isn’t concerned about that. 

Match wonders where they even came from. 

Match doesn’t actually know how he feels about the idea of wearing civilian clothes. He never really has. Even when he’s pretended to be Thirteen, he never dressed like that. 

His suit is burned and bloody, though, and not really in particularly good condition. And it’s not like he’s going to refuse an order, even an implied one.

As Eluréd and Elurín are running from Maedhros, they suddenly find themselves in a giant city full of nefarious villains and masked vigilantes. This is the story of how they come to call the caped crusaders of the world's most crime ridden city their new family.

This is basically a prequel to a subsequent fic where the Bat Fam fights the Kidnap Dads. I'll make this one fun, but I'm really excited about the next one in the series.
