Some Sunny Day

Summary: We all know Captain Price and how he is described to be a crotchety soldier who has been through a lot. So what would the loss of someone special to him effect him Side Note- This occurs before Task Force 141 is formed and when Price was a lieutenant. Warning: Angst

Females, She/Her She/They DNI Being in the Military is a job that will cause pain, loss, camaraderie, and friendships that may at some point be broken. Price is a well versed man in this category, having been in the Military for 18 years of his life. He has watched many of his brothers and sister fall on the field, and it melded him into the man he is now. During his upbringing, there was one person that had been strong enough, one person that he had known when he first enlisted in the Military. C/n, also known as M/n L/n, had joined the Military around the same time period of Price. They've grown a lot from the time they had first joined, and they've been by each others side for years. Through high and low they comforted, defended, supported, and overall cared for one another.

When they were given time off, they would use that time off to find solace in one another's presence. Price would read a book, enjoying the peace and quiet of the room while M/n would lean his head on his shoulder, either falling asleep or reading the book along with Price. They would also have a specific time, 8:37 p.m exact, to be able to enjoy a cup of tea together at the end of a long day. The way his h/c hair framed his face was something that never failed to captivate Price, and the way he never failed to lighten the mood also drawn Price to him. The two men, when on leave from the base, usually go to the beach or just stay at a hotel for more...private time.

When on the field, Price would be keeping a lookout for any dangers that could potentially harm his comrades, and especially M/n. Even when knowing M/n was a tough cookie and could handle himself he never failed to call out for him on the radios, just to ensure he was alright. Even when the s/c skinned male got injured, he always smiled through the pain, as a way to give reassurance that he'd be fine. Their relationship was something that a lot of people would dream of having.

It was chaos, the smell of smoke and the sound of gunfire was the only thing that filled M/n's senses as he hid behind a low wall. He was in the main building that The mission went terribly wrong, leading to buildings being destroyed, soldiers on both sides being KIA, and smoke making it hard to breath. M/n had been injured, badly, due to the fact that he was in the middle of the crossfire.

He sustained 2 gunshot wounds, one being in the leg and the other being in his side. He reloaded his sniper rifle and fired it again, despite the nasty feeling of his own blood oozing from his side, making him feel dizzy. He could hear the sound of Price's voice cutting through on the comms system, but due too all the noise going on around him plus the feeling of slowly drifting away didn't help. His grip on his weapon faltered as his body began to give into the exhaustion and pain.

Price could be heard barking orders, his comrades all retreating and about to depart from the field when he realized. M/n was still in the collapsing building, so in a rush he began to yell into his radio, calling for his fellow soldier, his friend....., his lover....He could hear the sound of static coming through on his radio, an ounce of hope filling him.

He moved so quick on his feet, knowing he was short on time to find M/n and get out of the area safely. There was fire, the crackles drowning out the sound of enemy soldiers footsteps as he stumbled into a room.

There he was, laying lifeless on the ground. Price had has his fair share of times when his blood went cold, but this was on another level. He took one, then two, three steps before dropping to his knees and frantically cradling M/n's body. He felt for a pulse, and there was one.....a very weak one.

"Come on sergeant we're getting outta here!" Price ordered, his tone serious and seemingly unaffected but his expression said otherwise. He began to pick M/n up but the sound the e/c eyed male let out made his heart ache, the other man was in pain and that was clear. He gently set him down again, thoughts racing as he tried to think of how he could get M/n out safely. The sound of an pained cry alerted the remaining enemy soldiers, making them go in the direction where M/n and Price were. M/n, in his barely conscious state was able to hear the footsteps, and used whatever strength he had left to push himself up against some crates behind him.

"P-price...you need to go.." M/n said, looking at Price who had a look of perseverance on his face. He knelt down next to M/n, cupping his face.

"I'm not leaving you muppet, we're gettin' out of this to-" Price was cut off, M/n's voice cutting through his words

"No....no, there's not enough time." M/n croaked, undoing his dog-tag and holding it out for Price to take, a smile on his face as blood came from his mouth. "You need to go, love, go..."

Price stared at M/n's weakened form, the chains of his dog tag dangling from the openings of his fingers, the smile he was giving. His heart was breaking, his breathing becoming labored as he shakily took M/n's hand, taking his dog-tag, and holding the males hand tight. He didn't want to let go, not yet, not ever, but it seems that the world was against him like every other time. He slowly brought M/n hand to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss upon it before resting the males hand down gently, watching as his breathing began to slow.

He couldn't watch, and as the enemy began to approach Price ran for it, didn't look back despite how much it hurt not too. He gripped the dog tag, regrouping with the remainder team. Inside the truck, Price kept his gaze to the floor, gently tracing the writing graved into M/n's dog tag. He stayed silent, not saying a word.

Price was in his office, looking through files, signing paperwork, overall doing his usual duties as captain. He was tired, still carrying a lot of hurt and guilt on his shoulders after all that.s happen during his upbringing in the military. Though there was one thing that kept him going, that made him not give up.

After finishing up his work, Price got up to make a cup of tea. He boiled some water in a kettle, grabbed his favorite tea, and tea-cup. He then poured the hot water into the cup, unwrapping and placing the tea bag inside. He watched the tea leaves stain the water a cool brown color, before adding some lemon and a tad bit of sugar. He brought the cup to his lips, sipping the drink slowly, savoring the taste and smell. Small things like this never failed to bring back memories, which caused him to sigh, a brief chuckle leaving his lips as his hand went to grip M/n's dog tag. He pulled it out of his shirt, eyes softening as he gently traced the letters of M/n's name. Gaz and Soap were always nosy, pestering Price about why he has two dog-tags ever since he first got seen with it. He wouldn't get specific, but he would say it belonged to someone very..very special to him. He wore it for comfort, for reassurance, for hope. Hope that some day, he and his true love would finally meet again, some sunny day....

george o'hara, still an asshole, died young, nobody cared, blah blahhhh. unlike canon though , george was more of an absentee father figure, was distant with miguel

miguel knows that tyler is his biological father, and they work together as always. what's different about it though , is that here miguel tries, foolishly or not to strike up a father-son relationship with stone, but ty is the one that shuts it down this time. kind of an inversion of canon. ( me @ myself; rewatch that one scene in netflix's eric that gave me vibes for this )

miguel is a mutate, but not a known / declared BOW yet (plot dependent). remains human-passing. future potential there for him to join a task force --

eyes remain brown. the red hue appears only when his mutation is active, and can get worse from there if he loses control, or is otherwise worked up to an extreme degree (i.e. sclera turning fully red / scarlet)

addition to the above, veins appear more pronounced along his temples when he uses his powers, just for an extra bit of spookiness / showing there's something definitely not right with him. it's kind of like what happens with byakugan users, when i picture it in my head

The Beginning

–A Star Is Born

A/N: Grammar is for chumps.

Summary: These two songs represent Ansi's beginnings as a child star.

My Reasonings: I chose a popular song by Shirley Temple to mark the rise of Ansi's child stardom.

A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes is the first song that Cinderella sings in her movie. The main theme of the song is that despite the pain you're currently facing you can't give up the hope that things will change for the better. At this point of Ansi's life she feels the same as Cinderella because she believes this change in her life is only temporary. This song also illustrates Ansi's childhood naivety. She thinks that it won't be long before her life goes back to normal despite the obvious signs that it won't.

Lore: Ansi had always been a tech genius. By the time she learned how to count she was already typing out zeros and ones. Her programming abilities only improved as her father taught her more advanced skills. By the time she turned ten she was more versed in computer code than some senior programmers at Alchemax.

She was so good that her father started bringing her to his job at the Midwestern Alchemax branch. (That and the fact that she was driving her mother, who was attempting to homeschool her, insane.)

Nobody actually believed in her abilities. They thought that she was just a privileged brat that they were being forced to babysit. There were some who had more aggressive opinions that they didn't even try to hide. Ansi had become very familiar with the hushed whispers and dirty looks whenever she entered a room. (She also had to deal with racial prejudice since she was one of the few black people on site.) 

Most of the time they just ignored her. The few who pitied her gave her small and meaningless tasks (which only took her a couple of seconds to complete). She never complained to her father about it being surrounded by tech was enough for her. 

However, things changed the day a computer worm infected Alchemax's server. It started off slow. Desktops were running slower than usual. But many assumed it was due the precarious nature of the weather in the Midwest. It was impossible for their systems to be breached (Despite Ansi's constant warnings about the major weaknesses in their system). But it wasn't long before the slowness of the desktops went from a minor inconvenience to completely unusable. Panic began to spread across the facility. No one knew the cause of the worm or how it spread. The only thing they could do was stop it before it got to the super computer. Fortunately, Ansi's laptop was the only one unaffected since no one ever connected it to the mainframe. They all watched in awe as she effortlessly took down a computer worm that took the entire programming staff days to just slow it down. If Ansi didn't interfere they would've lost billions of dollars worth of tech. And yet in just a couple of hours Ansi was not only able to get rid of it but completely reverse the state of the infected computers. 

(It's quite easy to take down a worm that you created yourself.)

After such a miraculous feat people had to acknowledge her abilities. Soon she was put on bigger projects and given more difficult tasks. She was well known throughout the facility as their very own Coding Princess.

She was almost always at Alchemax. Even when her mother gave up and put her in public school she still went after classes. However, there was always one day in the year where her father refused to let her go with him to work. She knew why. It was the day of the annual progress report. 

The one day in the year where the head of Alchemax came to check out their tiny facilities. 

The one day in the year where her grandfather visited the area. 

(Somehow he always found time for work but could never find time to say hello to his own family.)

She didn't know why her father was so against her grandfather learning about her abilities, but she never pressed him about it. Sometimes she wonders what he would've said if she had asked. At the very least she would've been prepared for what was to come.

No one had expected the director's surprise visit. 

Somehow he'd gotten wind of the virus outbreak that had almost compromised the entire database and he was absolutely livid. 

Ansi knew of her grandfather's temper but she had never seen the man so red in the face. It wasn't long before he went from fuming to actively hostile, Ansi felt bad for the innocent workers who were standing near him. 

After leaving them bruised and bloodied he finally calmed down and said that everyone who worked that day would be fired unless Ansi went back to Seattle with him.

Ansi didn't care too much about the people working there but she still agreed. (It's one of the tech capitals of the US. Of course she was gonna say yes.)

Her mother was overjoyed to finally get recognition from her father while her father was absolutely terrified. He knew what the director was capable of but he was powerless. Assistant director was just an empty title given to him because he was the son-in-law of the director.

So begins Ansi's hellish life as the super genius child star, Niya.

He’s just trying to lead a normal life… Or as normal as life can be for someone like him, at least. Though the war left deep scars on his soul & he will often have nightmares about the things he had to endure during it, he’s doing his best to heal & to finally find happiness.

He does end up finding said happiness when at last, he allows himself to acknowledge the romantic feelings he’s had for his long time friend Orihime Inoue for a while & soon after graduating high school, they start a romantic relationship.

Pre-TYBW, Ichigo is a high school student doing his best to protect his loved ones from ill-intended creatures (and keep his grades up while he does so, not an easy task).

Given how powerful Ichigo has become & how much he’s done to aid Soul Society in times of hardship, he has the potential to become a captain should he choose to leave the world of the living & join the gotei 13. In the end however, his human side speaks much louder than the shinigami one, love & devotion to his family keeping him in the human world– aforementioned family grows, when he gets married to Orihime & they have a son named Kazui. 

He’s between 23-29 in this & has mostly healed from the traumas caused by the war. He works from home as a translator & still acts as a substitute shinigami every now & again. He’s absolutely elated that he can finally have a peaceful life alongside his loved ones while still keeping in touch with his friends from Soul Society.

( ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆ ) v: shattered windows & the sound of drums; people couldn’t believe what i’d become. | AU.

AU with adversitybloomed

Ichigo’s powers grew far too strong for even his human body to handle & it got to a point where his mere presence in the world of the living was disturbing the balance between the human world & the spiritual one. Left with no other choice, he goes to Soul Society, has to live there now. He isn’t very pleased about that & as he isolates himself in a forest to sort out his thoughts & feelings, he ends up running into a girl, Mulan– a goddess? He doesn’t fully understand what she is, but doesn’t matter. To him, she becomes a savior, the one who gives him hope and helps him comprehend and truly control his own power, so that he can be able to return to his world, to his family eventually.

Follows the same idea of the AU above, where Ichigo was forced to move to Soul Society due to how great his powers have become, but with a twist: in this, he decides to join the Gotei 13 & learn how to be a “full” shinigami. He does struggle a lot with leaving his human life behind though & will frequently think about giving up the whole embracing his shinigami side thing and just trying to figure a way to return to the world he once belonged in.

Ichigo lives in Konohagakure, has lived there his whole life. When he was around 4 years old and his sisters barely older than newborns, their parents were killed during Kurama’s attack to the village– leaving them as orphans. He, however, never directed his anger towards Naruto like everyone else did– never blamed him for what had happened either. Because his late mother had taught him to be kind & wherever she may be now, he wanted her to still be proud of him. Besides, Naruto was just like him… An orphan boy, lost and confused who had to figure out how to take care of himself. He’s always sort of felt sympathy towards that poor boy.

And that sympathy later turns into true admiration after Naruto saves the village from pain, despite having been mistreated by most of the villagers his entire life. Ichigo thinks the other really deserves the title of “Hero”.

As for his abilities, Ichigo can perform ninjutsus and genjutsus to satisfactory levels, but his strong suit is taijutsu & he will sometimes use a sword to fight.

This is mostly live-action based as I’m not caught up with the anime! Ichigo is a skilled swordsman, having started his training & becoming one after the small village he lived in was attacked by pirates & his family killed in the process. He swore to himself he would become strong to fight cruel people, pirates like those who destroyed his home. Now, he doesn’t really have a place to call home anymore, he’s always traveling– going from one place to the next, hunting down pirates who commit horredous crimes, such as the ones he witnessed when he was but a child.

star wars verse ramblings.

sabu has a ship named b6-76, he never gave it an official name, since it is nothing more than a flier that the EMPIRE had assigned to him. it's a perfect replica of their base ships, equipped with a barrier incase of attacks & blasters on the front of it. he doesn't often use this as a means of combat. he prefers hand to hand.

he dresses the part of a SITH, he finds no shame in being able to be picked out as a member of the empire on first glance. donning himself in DARK ROBES & armor. he wears mostly red & black, very easy to pick out in a crowd with his impressive height. his eyes are adorned with red & black markings.

he doesn't own a blaster, but he has shot one before many times. he has no issue plucking one right out of the clones hands if he feels they aren't making their shots. he is very aggressive towards his own troops, unafraid to yell at them for their own inadequacies. he prefers to use the saberstaff that he was given by his master.

he doesn't have a necessarily positive relationship with his master, the two of them ended contact the moment that he graduated from being a student. he learned much from him, but he believes that he can learn much more from texts & actual combat than he can from someone who orders him around. he's compulsive & unafraid to chase down the enemy when the time comes to it.

incredibly powerful with the force, especially for the task of mindreading. he uses this as a means to tell whether someone is hiding information from him or not. meditation was one of his strongest suits when he was training to be a sith. putting everything out of his mind for the sake of becoming one with the force came naturally to him. however, he doesn't rely solely on this for combat.

his face is his WEAK SPOT, if someone goes for his injuries during a fight, he will recoil. as per his main verse, they never healed properly. he maintains his gravity in a way that he is always protecting his face from people, not wanting them to get a hit off on him there - it will bring him down.

FINAL FANTASY VERSE DUMP

final fantasy ix verse: ordained thy crystal doomed

gaia seemed like the perfect planet to become the new terra. or at least, that is what garland thought. when he tried to fuse the crystal’s together, a dark force rejected the terran crystal and foiled garland’s plans. this dark force was none other than sephiroth who had already claimed gaia as his own. sephiroth and garland become locked in a cold war over gaia’s crystal for thousands of years. 

sephiroth, with his mastery over hallucinations steered kuja into discovering garland deemed him a failure. with the creation of zidane, sephiroth’s main goal is to foil his programming and make sure he doesn’t not bring about gaia’s end. to anyone outside of garland and kuja, sephiroth veils himself as a benevolent being whose only intention is to save gaia.

final fantasy x verse: come to me o’ boundless souls

this is going under the assumption that final fantasy x and vii take place in the same universe. this verse also takes place after the events of the remake from sephiroth’s perspective.

with the planet’s defenses finally destroyed, sephiroth holds free reign over time. as now a constant of the universe, sephiroth is able to send one self to the recent past to try and change his fate with cloud and company while he sends another self to the distance past. it is in this distance past that he discovers spira and the farplane. seeing a source of energy like the lifestream, sephiroth now plans to use the farplane as a fail safe should he fail again to absorb the power of the lifestream. he becomes interested in yuna as a summoner and seeks to understand more through following her as a shadow.

final fantasy xiii verse: when chaos comes knocking

when bhunivelze fell into a crystallized sleep, pulse created the first fal’cie without divine influence. this fal’cie was sephiroth. originally tasked with helping pulse find the unseen realm, he is the one who discovered the link between the chaos within human souls and the realm they seek to find. when humans began to populate pulse and cocoon, it was he who instigated the war of transgressions through his use of hallucinations and deceptions in order to kill enough humans to rip the gates open.

it was when etro intervened that sephiroth first discovered that she, created without power, found the ability to manipulate the world through the power of chaos. wanting this power for himself, he soon began to seek the unseen realm for the sole purpose of becoming the new god of death. to do so, he seeks to find and kill etro by changing the timeline. his meddling creating enough of an effect to kill many iterations of the seeress yeul and setting caius ballad off on his quest to destroy time.

by the time bhunivelze awakens and decides to create a new world without chaos, sephiroth attempts to guide the savior towards defying bhunivelze in the hopes of keeping a world where he can be the god of death.

final fantasy xiv: the shadow is mine and so is the valley.

on the thirteenth shard of the star, the nightmares of amaurot remained etched upon the earth. having discovered the fossilized remains of an ancient creation, humanity sought to achieve that power for themselves. thus, the jenova project was created and with it, the super soldier and hero sephiroth. originally bred to be a warrior of light, the ascian igeyorhm took it upon herself to use sephiroth as a pawn to bring about a rejoining.

after discovering the experiments that created him, sephiroth went mad. however, his delusions of grandeur became too much for the sundered ascian to take care of on her own and sephiroth’s overwhelming defeating of the true warrior of light brought about the flood of darkness that irrevocably changed the thirteenth shard forever. 

however, sephiroth did not perish in the flood. instead, becoming an incredibly powerful voidsent with his will still intact thanks to the ancient power within him. believing himself to be an ancient and the true denizen of the star, sephiroth now seeks to become a new god unburdened with the need for prayer like the primals.

final fantasy xv verse: heaven’s dark harbinger

when adagium was found imprisoned in angelgard, the niflheim empire was also able to covet some of the starscourge trapped within the destroyer’s body. before turning to a magitek army, verstael first tried to make an army of super soldiers using daemonic miasma. the result was sephiroth. though he was the perfect soldier verstael intended, creating an army like him was not time or cost effective and so he turned towards the idea of magitek. however, sephiroth remained in service and rose through the ranks of niflheim. though he is unaware of his creation, ardyn does.

when ultima forsook them, the circle of malius attempted to create a divine child to commune with their lost god. sephiroth was created by infusing aether directly from the dzemekys mothercrystal with a mother already with child. this was part of the sin that swept the mothercrystal from the world. while the fallen were punished for attempting to use the divine for their own personal gain, the mother still gave birth to a son drenched in aether.

sephiroth is not the perfect creation he was meant to be. though he has the same amount of aether within him as an eikon, he does not share in their powers. he is a bearer in the sense that he can cast magic without a crystal but on a scale far exceeding those of the common man. however, he did have a connection to ultima as the surviving remnant of the mothercrystal's aether which allowed ultima to twist sephiroth's mind.

after learning that he was created through sin, sephiroth grew made and seeks to destroy all humans to make the world ready for ultima's people. like barnabas, his link to ultima means he does not age and as continued to serve through the decades. he is now a general in waloed, though his true loyalties lie with ultima.

Lore Dump: Current State of Affairs

Note: The following is a discussion on this blog's main verse and what one could expect when doing crossover threads. As the original SR series is effectively dead in the ground, and as someone who wasn't the biggest fan of how it ended, I am basing this entirely off of my own ideas regarding canon, and my revised version of the third game. Please note that at this point in time, I do not have a post that details just what exactly I've done to rework the events of the third game. Something that I've always been fascinated by were the long-lasting consequences of what the Saints had done during the gang war in Steelport. Because let's be real here; the fact that a street gang was able to completely wipe out a large scale criminal organization, whose power and connections were on a global scale, and win against a paramilitary task force that was under the control and supervision of the US government, which was more than likely really fucking embarrassing for them, is monumental.

And when I say monumental, I mean do you know how fucking insane that is? Like, do you know how that's going to affect the world? I would not put it past any kind of governing body to get a wee bit paranoid over this shit. "Well, if the Saints were able to hold their own against the fucking US military, what does that tell every other criminal organization across the globe?". That's horrifying for people in high positions of power! It sets an example. Plants an idea.

So, I can see them trying to deal with this in a number of ways; either they start dumping all their money into law enforcement in order to counteract organized crime, stay vigilant and play by ear, hire outside forces (I like to consider the Masako and STAG as the catalyst for PMC's becoming much more prevalent in this world). Or, special bonus crime answer, you work with OTHER criminal organizations in order to take out what you consider a huge threat. No matter what choice is made, the end result is all of them coming off as if they're panicking like crazy.

Something to consider as well is the public's perception towards what transpired in Steelport, and the way everything was handled. While the Saints' general popularity may have waned somewhat, there's definitely people out there coming to their defense. Or, at the very least, arguing in their favor. They could be seen as arguably better than a lot of the gangs they've gone up against (something that is hinted at in NPC dialogue during the second game), and they did prevent an entire city from being demolished because the US left a dude in charge who would do absolutely anything in his power to get the job done. So, like, hmm, maybe funny purple gang is a necessary evil?

But on the contrary we have the obvious. "How can you defend a bunch of criminals? Maybe things wouldn't have escalated this badly if they weren't around. These people are scumbags! Worst of the worst! And their leader is a godforsaken psychopath (sociopath, maniac, nutcase, whatever you feel like blurting out that day)". None of it is particularly surprising. Most folk don't really like the idea of letting a gang exist, no matter what sort of perceived "good" they might have done for the community. These are also the same kind of people who may even support whatever kind of law or program may be used in order to strike back against organized crime, regardless of how it may impede upon their life or the lives of other people.

"And what about the criminal underworld? Wouldn't this affect them too? Oh, please tell me more, Andre! You're very smart and creative." Ha ha! Why thank you, Hypothetical Person. But, yes, the criminal underworld will absolutely be affected. I mean, put yourself in the position of a gang leader; how would you personally feel seeing the Saints accomplish such an incredible feat? Either you're gonna try gunning for their leader's head, find yourself inspired enough to try and be just a little bit bolder, recognize the potential threat they are to your empire, or be a real stupid motherfucker and continue to underestimate them. It's highly dependent on the gang itself and the kind of person leading them.

The Saints are in a very interesting position currently. They have cemented themselves as a criminal organization to keep an eye on. A gang that has the potential to put themselves in the history books depending on what choices they make. And knowing how ruthlessly ambitious The Boss happens to be, it is almost guaranteed that the Saints will be doing whatever possible in order to expand this empire of theirs, no matter who might stand in their way.

It is the dawn of a new era within this world, and the 3rd Street Saints are carving their path to greatness.

not book related but I finished aot a few days ago and needless to say it's consumed my thoughts. so here is an aot verse aelin!

aelin galathynius is an eldian residing in marley. she was born into the royal bloodline on her mothers side, who is a distant relative of dina, and making aelin a distant cousin of sorts to zeke. at the end of the great titan war, a branch of the royal family refused to flee to paradis island with king fritz, which included her parents. they resided in liberio with dina fritz and other eldians, biding their time until the eldian empire could regain power. unfortunately, when aelin was around the age of eight, her parents were murdered, leaving her orphaned.

she was taken in by a man named arobynn hamel, a highly respected leader in the marleyan military who is known for raising impressive warriors (most are orphaned marleyans but it’s not that uncommon for him to have an eldian). where her parents taught the history of eldia with pride, arobynn beat any notion of love she might have for her heritage out of her and restyled her in his own image to the point that she no longer acknowledges her royal bloodline. she only wants to please marley and become an honorary marleyan. he trained her with ruthless efficiency to be a killer, going as far as forcing her to break her right hand so that she could train exclusively with her weaker left, and giving her lashing whenever she failed a particular task. she quickly learned not to fail at all.

eventually, she joined the warrior unit of the millitary with the other eldians. due to her preliminary training as a child under arobynn's supervision, she quickly rose in the ranks and is considered one of the best fighters amongst her class behind the titan holders, but is instructed by arobynn to hold back and remain behind the nine chosen titan holders. this is because arobynn has his own plans for her, wanting to send her to paradis for his own scheming reasons, needing to ensure her life isn’t a ticking expiration date, whether marley approves her going or not. for writing purposes: either they approve her going and she joins marcel, annie, reiner, and bertolt to paradis or she sneaks onto the ship per arobynn’s instructions and joins them at some point once they are there. she then joins the 104th training corps, with a main focus on aiding her comrades and gathering secret intel for arobynn.

additional headcanons: - her and annie grew up very similarly, and therefore have a kind of unspoken friendship between them, especially as they age - although in the warrior unit, she was trained moreso as an assassin vs a soldier - she would be the first of the group to turn against marley and join eldia - befriends mikasa (much to her chagrin) and forces her to teach her new tricks with the odm gear - armin reminds her of sam

Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters Verse Info For Gao, Tasuku, and Suzuha

(Note: These verses are written in the context of the events of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga by Kazuki Takahashi, and do connect directly to the canon of my Mokuba specifically. However, they can be easily adapted or written to not include connections to Mokuba and or adapted to fit the Anime's story. In addition, the inclusion of these characters in the storyline of my Mokuba does not have to be present in any interactions had with Mokuba either. These are meant to be a basis/starting point for interactions not a end-all be-all. I am flexible and this can all be discussed at the individual level.)

General Set-Up That Applies To All Three

The Game of Buddyfight

In the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!, games are a way of life and have a deep history in the world itself. They help connect and bring people together, whether it's for fun, recreation, or to decide the fate of the world. The world has tons of popular games, and one of the new and upcoming games is known as Buddyfight, a game with many similarities to that of the popular Duel Monsters game created by Maximillion Pegasus.

The game was created by one of the many companies under the famous Amanosuzu Group. This conglomerate is headed by Lord Amanosuzu and will be inherited one day by his daughter, Lady Suzuha Amanosuzu. The game was developed around the same time as Duel Monsters tailored mainly for the market of children, but has grown to be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is more of a niche game title compared to the worldwide phenomenon of Pegasus' creation, but it is still enjoyed by many people.

Much like Duel Monsters, the game has a connection to the supernatural, but the creators did not know this at the time of creation. It is connected to a series of parallel worlds (Dragon World, Star Dragon World, Darkness Dragon World, Magic World, Dungeon World, Hero World, Ancient World, Danger World, Legend World, Katana World, & Lost World) where creatures of all sorts reside. The first connection between the two worlds began when a young boy known as the 'Boy of Destiny' that had lost everything was reached out to by the heir to the noble Jackknife clan of Dragon World, who was destined to be the boy's protector. For this 'Boy of Destiny' was fated to save the world and protect the future.

The existence of this connection is not made public, and to almost everyone on Earth, Buddyfight cards are just cards used for a game. However, as the bonds between players and their monsters become stronger, so does the potential for more connections between these worlds to be formed.

A year following the events of the main story (AKA 6 months after DSOD is over), Buddyfight has grown in popularity to the point where the existence of Buddy Monsters no longer needs to be hidden. This means Buddyfighters their monsters can sometimes be seen walking around both Domino and Cho-Tokyo (more common in the latter), with more Buddy Contracts being formed than ever before thanks to the official authorization of them from the Buddy Card Office run by the Buddy Police.

The Buddy Police

Initially started in the coastal city of Cho-Tokyo but has since expanded to other regions of the world, the Buddy Police is a police force specially tasked with dealing with gaming-related crimes. These crimes can include something as common as cheating in official gaming events, to something rare and horrific like having underground death games. They are both their own force of authority, but do work with local law enforcement often.

The key members of the force include its commander Commander I, its intelligence officer Stella Watson, its chief officer Tsurgi Takihara, and their special field agent, the Buddy Police Boy Wonder aka Tasuku Ryuenji. They fight to uphold justice and protect the people, especially children who are more often than not victims in crimes.

Recent reports of a large amount of death games being played in the nearby city of Domino in Japan have forced the Buddy Police to take action. They have sent their chief officer and the Buddy Police Boy Wonder to investigate the situation and gather intel undercover, not knowing that the games being played here were no ordinary death games that they have experienced. Supernatural forces were involved, forces that have a history spanning back to 3000 years ago in ancient Egypt.

Story Description

Gao Mikado attends Aibo Academy, a Pre K-12 school sponsored by the Amonosuzu Group located in Domino City. There he is a member of the special Buddyfight course, a course that allows him to focus on building his skills in the game of Buddyfight in addition to regular schooling education. He is a relative newcomer to the game itself, only starting when he began 6th grade, but has taken up to it very fast and has been known as 'Dumb Luck Gao' around the school grounds after his miraculous defeat of famous prodigy, Tasuku Ryuenji during his very first game.

He is not only good at Buddyfighting, but is also a national champion at Aiki-jujutsu martial arts, even competing against adults. He helps his mother out in their family dojo sometimes with running classes for the community, such as a self-defense class. He also has been an instructor for self-defense and other martial-arts related elective courses at Aibo.

Gao loves to hit up the local arcade and card shop scene when he's not in school or training, always looking for an interesting challenge. It was at this arcade that he met Mokuba Kaiba, and became fast friends with him. The youngest Kaiba brother even taught him Capsule Monsters Chess, as well as Duel Monsters. In return, Gao and his mother teach him self-defense.

Gao, aside from being known for beating Tasuku, is known locally as the Mighty Fun Fighter, a fighter who is known to beat up bullies and protect the weak. He has a passion for fighting just as much as he does Buddyfighting, but is not the type to physically hurt people with his skills. He will not hesitate to fight if needed.

Gao is the second person to make a Buddy Contract with a monster on Earth. Unlike other humans, over time he eventually makes connections with three very different dragons, Drum, Bal, and Batzz, who all share the title of his Buddy. His best friend Baku has created separate decks for each one, as well as a deck for all three as well. Any of them can grant Gao their power via a Buddy Skill (a special power granted to a fighter by their Buddy Monster), which manifests as a sun-themed skin-board Gao uses to fly around and get from place to place.

Story Description

Tasuku Ryuenji is a member of the Buddy Police and a Buddyfight Prodigy known as the 'Prince of Buddyfight'. At the age of 9, his family passed away in a huge natural event known as the 'Disaster", leaving him alone and stranded in a mountain range for three days. During that time, he realized his own powerlessness as a child and wished to become an adult in order to help those who cannot help themselves, and that desire resonated with a being from another world, Jackknife Dragon Findar The 100th. Jack came to Tasuku in the form of a Buddyfight card, and manifested his true form in order to shield and protect Tasuku from the elements until he was found by civilization. It was after his rescue that he joined the Buddy Police and was taken in by Mr. Takihara.

In addition to being the first human to connect with and form a contract with a Buddy Monster, Tasuku also possesses a power known as the Future Force. This power, one that comes from his future self, is accessed through Tasuku's Buddyfight deckcase, the Star Pulsar. With it, he is able to make the power of his cards into reality, a power he uses only in extreme circumstances. He can also gain the power of flight in the form of two green rings on his feet through Jack's own power, aka his Buddy Skill.

This power and Jack's existence are kept a secret. Only those in the Buddy Police, Mokuba Kaiba, Gao Mikado, and Lady Suzuha are privy to this sensitive information, and Tasuku wishes to keep it that way. Jack disguises himself either in his card form or through the form of a plushie. He can communicate with Tasuku telepathically in these forms if needed.

He is sent to Aibo Academy as a student as a coverup to investigate the increasing game-related crimes and gather information. It was through this that he met Gao Mikado and became good friends with him, including offering to be his first opponent in Buddyfight. He has a history with Lady Suzuha not only due to being 7th grade classmates, but also due to her family's company creating the game and him being often asked to help promote it.

Tasuku's first major act since coming to Domino was his direct involvement in the aftermath of the Death-T incident at Kaiba Corporation. It was there he met Mokuba Kaiba, who he helped during the period of his brother being in a coma. It was because of meeting Mokuba and hearing the full story (including what Kaiba's real dream is) that Tasuku ultimately decided to not press charges on Kaiba Corporation for their death games, the younger Kaiba's insistance his real brother will come back to him one day just as Yugi Muto had promised him he would. Though, Tasuku wants to meet Seto Kaiba himself, to gauge with his own eyes whether what he experienced at the hands of Yugi was enough justice and to determine what kind of man he is to become.

In addition to using a Dragon World deck, eventually, Tasuku becomes in possession of a deck from Star Dragon World that becomes his main deck. This occurs after some training he and Jack underwent in that parallel world, and upon completing, both were granted the powers of Star Dragon World, becoming the first fighter and buddy for that world in existence.

Story Description

Lady Suzuha is the only daughter of the famous Amanosuzu Family, owners of the Amanosuzu Group, a huge conglomerate consisting of many companies across various industries such as gaming, mining, construction, and more. She is a rather elegant and savvy young lady, always able to see an opportunity when she sees one. She is a 7th-grade student at Aibo Academy and a member of the special Buddyfight course for her grade. She also partakes in extracurriculars relating to business, charity, and the arts, including having her own arts and crafts club that Mokuba is a member of even before he joined her at Aibo Academy in his high school years.

The game of Buddyfight was her own buisness venture. Everything related to it is handled by her and her assistants of the Amanosuzu Group. However, Lady Suzuha was not the individual who made the game itself, rather saw its potential and decided to take a risk on it, which turned out well in the end.

Being someone of high status and someone of influence in the business and gaming worlds, Lady Suzuha has, of course, powerful connections in those spaces. One of those connections is with the Kaiba Family. She met Mokuba Kaiba at a business event hosted by the previous head of Kaiba Corporation, Gozaboru Kaiba and that connection she later used to try and form a business relationship with the company once Seto Kaiba became president, but became a good friend to Mokuba in her own right (in fact she was his first friend post leaving the orphanage and is the person who has been his friend the longest).

Around the time of Gozaboru Kaiba's death, she fell out of contact with Mokuba for around six months. From her point of view, he was 'grieving' his step-father's death (since she was unaware of just how AWFUL of a person he was) and hence why he sort of 'needed space' after a while. She heard from him again following his brother falling into a coma suddenly, and the two reconnected, even being present when Mokuba made the lockets for himself and his brother.

She and him often participate in arts and crafts and chess together (including Capsule Monsters Chess, of course). She also will play Buddyfight him with as well, and he was even present during some of the early development of the game.

please meet ciaran bravewood sato <3 this delves into everything you need to know concerning his main verse set in dorverold. everything pretty much transfers over to a modern verse, though. the main differences are ciaran lives with kaiya and helps her around the raven. also be warned -- this is a lil long!

born to an elven mother and a human father, ciaran's conception was not met with approval. his mother's clan believed humans to be a poison on the land, yet they did not throw his parents out; his mother was a much-needed healer, a gentle woman beloved despite her choice in spouse. even so, ciaran grew up feeling as though he could never try hard enough, never be enough for his elders. they assumed he would be just like his father.

ciaran didn't see why that was a bad thing. his father was a really cool guy, he thought.

when sickness befell the clan one year, claiming lives, they were quick to blame ciaran's family and quick to force them from the village. without many other options, they headed for the grand city where ciaran's father had family.

they never quite made it. the grand city loomed in the distance, just a few miles away when vampires attacked ciaran's family. his parents were slaughtered, sucked dry before him, and he knew he would die, too. still, the child thrashed; still, the child raged; he knew he would die, but still, he promised the vampires death.

eyda heard his promise, felt his rage, and seeing an opportunity, came to ciaran's aid. time appeared to stop as an intangible voice offered the child the power to survive in exchange for his body upon his death. ciaran accepted.

the child made good on his promise. the vampires' bodies turned to ash as the sun rose, and ciaran sat with his parents until a kind, travelling merchant happened upon him. after burying his parents, the man took him the rest of the way to the grand city where ciaran would find himself lost in a crowd of people. overwhelmed and on the verge of breaking down in the street, he climbed over a wall and into a garden.

it was quiet and smelled of jasmine -- his mother's favorite.

kaiya found him crying on a bench, all bloody and covered in dirt, and the rest is history :' ) she took him in with the original intention of helping find his father's family, but when they were met with a dead end, kaiya more or less adopted ciaran.

he never told her what happened to him, nor has he ever told cyrillo. he doesn't want them to feel guilty when they had no part in his parents' deaths; he doesn't want them to worry that he feels anything other than love for them.

at 19, ciaran acts as an errand boy for kaiya and cyrillo as well as the occasional guard. they still tend to treat him like a kid, but they are well aware of the magic he wields and the destruction he is capable of. he's been honest about the deal he made and how he isn't sure who it was that spoke to him, but even with his guardians' extensive knowledge, they aren't sure, either. they currently seek a way to free ciaran from the deal he made as a child.

with the traitor king edmund's rise to power, both kaiya and cyrillo were adamant about ciaran staying in the grand city and away from harm, and ofc!! he didn't listen. he followed after kaiya, got himself into heaps of trouble, and now he's been tasked to help in the kitchens as punishment. no training with the soldiers of the free army.

they said nothing of training with sunna's chosen : )

a young colton cassidy is found strapped for cash after the passing of his father and late stage diagnosis of his mother's cancer — following in the footsteps of his main verse, he finds a quick fix in GUN RUNNING. he recruits a team and makes DEADLOCK a very well known name in the business throughout the american southwest. so it doesn't take long for the LAW to get word of a new player in the streets.

they're assigned to a task force specializing in dismantling nationwide gang operations, who watches him and the gang very closely over the next few years, compiling all evidence needed to greenlight a sting operation on what was believed to be the gang's headquarters.

it's considered successful at the time, after partially disbanding the team and taking the then 21 year old colton in for questioning and holding. impressed with skill and mental fortitude, as well as vast knowledge on their current subjects, they offer the kid an ULTIMATUM: join up or lock up.

he chooses the former.

he works on this specialized task force for a little over 10 years. they have their ups and downs, but they get by and get the job done. shortly after getting word of the resurrection of the DEADLOCK GANG, the team is hit hard — assumingly by the aforementioned gang.

the force crumbles — half dead, the rest severally injured, the team's disbanded. colton, having paid his dues, hits dirt and goes into hiding, roaming from town to town for the next several years.

as the heat finally dies down, an investment opportunity lands in his lap. an old, shoddy bar in a middle-of-nowhere town full of nobodies — perfect for a nobody with nowhere to be.

he buys the bar and rebrands as the HIGH NOON SALOON. with a little help from an old friend, bars, in the kitchen, the place is brought back to life, quickly drawing in the locals and travelers alike — and all the TROUBLE that comes with them...

The Distance Between Us

distance is an upcoming part of my no-reapers au exponential differentiation! set during the two year period between the end of in the land of giants and the start of jack harper must die, it's a nihlus-centric novella following him and his mother sinatina after the events of itlog. [spoilers for itlog ahead!] sina is gravely injured during the archangel shootout in itlog and needs to be hospitalized (despite her insistence otherwise), taking nihlus out of the story temporarily while he gets her to the citadel for proper care. while she's stabilized enough by the climax for nihlus to feel safe leaving her side, she still needs help, and at the end of itlog he decides to part ways with shepard so he can take her home and care for her.

so while matteo is off having the other three novella adventures, nihlus is at home, at surdak outpost, taking care of his weakened mother. it's a very interpersonal, emotion-focused story, similar to the weight of memory; through itlog, we see that despite what he said in bm about being "over it" wrt what happened between him and his mother all those years ago, sina's betrayal both with pushing him to join the military and the lie about his father's identity is very much still a sore spot between them, and the loss of marty and the hole he left behind has barely healed at all. sina still misses marty, and as more and more of her friends fall she only misses her husband and clings to her son harder. nihlus has gotten older and been through hell a hundred times over in his career, and his time with saren and his family has helped him come to terms with his father's death, but going home again forces him to confront emotions he was happy ignoring - and now he doesn't have a reason to decide he's done and leave again. now they have to talk about it, and they have to work through it.

the title is a play on words, like i'm so very fond of - nihlus and sina live in a small, shitty apartment, and with nihlus helping her recover from her injuries there's a lot of intimacy in changing bandages and making sure she's taking her meds and washing the parts of her body she can't reach, so they're physically very close, but the proximity only makes the unresolved emotional problems more and more obvious.

Hounds Bay

hounds bay is my original urban fantasy verse!! one of. a few og verses i have actually but the only one that has a for-definite actual novel plot, lol. i haven't started writing it yet cause mass effect brainrot has gripped my brain very hard but i do have an outline i promise

the main plot premise goes: auberon "ben" corbin lives by himself in the woods, self-exiled to practice magic without the oversight of the various organizations meant to keep magic users from doing things they shouldn't. like necromancy. which is what ben is up to. he's living in the woods so he can do necromancy. this is not a good thing. he's kind to the people he resurrects, and tries to help them with any unfinished business and gives them a job helping him with various chores and tasks around his home for as long as they feel like sticking around and won't force them to stay if they don't want to, but it's still very much illegal for a reason and not great.

the not-greatness of this becomes evident when one day a rare visitor comes by, things go well and the stranger goes about their merry way the next morning, only for ben to start noticing more ghosts than usual skulking about his farm, particularly some very unsettlingly doglike ones that don't do anything besides sit and watch him. a couple days later a different stranger who introduces himself as argus cotton turn ups asking some very unsettling questions that seem to know way more than he has any reason to. there's ghosts in his shadow, and he has an unnatural gait, stalking and predatory.

then the moon comes up, and argus is revealed as a werewolf, and the ghosts following him as black dog omens. the black dogs are a sign the three of them are working for the local fae lord, and argus accuses ben of committing a string of necromantic murders that have been occurring in the nearby city, claiming the scent of necromancy and the murderer led them straight to his homestead. terrified and confused, ben flees into the woods, and argus and the dogs give chase. he's finally captured as the woods give way to a haunted bog, which is in fact the area where the dogs' original human bodies have been interred for millennia (i have. so much lore for these characters and how the world works).

ben is taken back to the city to await trial, which has to wait until nightfall. during the day, he's confined to the house of a hedgewitch named amelia, who turns out to be the lover of both the fae lord and lady of the area, halwn and lily, and mother of halwn's half-human son leo. he hangs with amelia and leo for the day, blah blah blah, this is getting longer than i thought it would, trial at moonrise with the fae court, including the werewolves (of which surprise, argus is a deposed king), the black dogs (stuttgart and glasgow, malevolent and unstable but loyal to halwn), a couple dragons (who have their own several books' worth of lore), etc etc. amelia and argus both argue in favor of ben's innocence, and we learn that the necromancy murders are destabilizing the boundary between life and death, putting pretty much the entire fabric of spacetime at risk. argus, it turns out, is mildly clairvoyant and has a strong sense for when somebody is lying, so halwn agrees to give ben a chance to prove his innocence and find the real murderer.

and that kicks off a whole chase around the city, ben is joined by the black dogs, argus, and a young adult dragon by the name of sand to help him track down the killer, amelia and leo also help out just don't tell halwn about it, there's some political maneuvering with the fae and human magic users and other magical beings, a dragon korb is attached to gets grievously injured, fun stuff, oh my god this got so long i have so much stuff about hounds bay actually--

Ares is more the type who'd be called "beautiful" instead of handsome, as he's not as muscular as those he serves with. Still, he has his share of muscle, bruises, and scars--souvenirs from everything he's survived. His hair is a heady bronze in the sunlight, since it's light brown with reddish undertones, and his eyes are an ever-changing mix of green.

PERSONALITY

Many view him as prideful, but he simply lacks the insecurities that others believe to be important to a normal sense of self. In other words, he doesn’t care much about what others of him, because they are not his family/loved ones. He’d rather have a tight circle of close friends than the approval of everyone. He also views all people as equal, so if he overhears a bully antagonizing someone, he'll jump in to end things. Sometimes he's so eager to "end things" that he ends up doing something rash and violent. This, as well as his deeply-ingrained loyalty, can easily be seen as weaknesses of his.

BACKGROUND

His favorite childhood memory is of his dad chasing him into the waves as a toddler while his mom laughed & watched. His parents, famous war hero Petros, and even-more-famous Thekla, divorced when he was six. About a decade later, both parents were checking on their son when it was convenient, but...well. He'd end up having a kid when he was in secondary school, after sleeping with a female friend while drunk and naked. It was definitely an accident, and yet he didn't mind children. He and his friend decided to keep things nice and platonic there, and he promised to send them money every day before he came to visit. Not long after that, Ares, like most others his age, joined the army to finish their mandatory service. He ended up serving past his term.

EXTRA

In the US, away from his traditional dad, he starts dressing in a more genderfluid way, wearing low-collared shirts and mesh tops, getting his ears pierced, putting on eyeliner and light makeup...etc. He still identifies as a boy, but he comes out as pansexual (& to his close friends, polyamorous). He keeps plenty of pictures of his current lover(s) on his phone because he tends to get a lil lonely while traveling, even when he's with the entourage he's used to. Even though he has no hard feelings towards his time in the military (despite his PTSD), he's kind of insecure when it comes to letting people outside his inner circle see the healed gunshot wounds on his torso.
