Tasneem's PoV
“What pictures should I share next?”, I wondered, handing my phone over to Hiba.
We were hanging out at my home right now, which was not rare for us. After all she was my best friend.
“That one's hot”, she suggested. “Oh, and take this one, too.”
My mom was not home. So we were sitting on the couch in the living room.
“Isn't this one a bit too sexy?”, I considered.
“Nah. It's alright. Look at this”, she declared, showing me a pic of herself.
In comparison to that mine was still innocent. Yet I would not judge her for it. It was completely in a gray zone.
“What else do you have?”, I inquired, taking her phone from her.
Meanwhile she was skipping through my gallery.
Hiba was absolutely great at taking pictures.
I stopped in my tracks when I found a picture of (f/n). I could not help but stare at it for a while.
She was sitting in class, apparently listening to Miss Abeer. Her focused gaze was kinda cute. Therefore I had my difficulties to skip to the next picture.
The more I scrolled through Hiba's gallery though, the more pictures of (f/n) I found. The weird thing about that was that (f/n) was never looking into the camera.
Something was off.
“Hiba? Why do you have so many pictures of (f/n) on her phone?”, I asked her bluntly.
“Huh? What are you talking about?”.
I presented her collection to her.
“Guess I always forgot to delete them”, she brushed it off, wearing a poker face.
“Why did you take them in the first place?”, I continued.
“Why does it matter? It's nothing unusual to have pictures of your friends on your phone”, she shot back, obviously getting irritated.
“What about your other friends then? Wait! Do you like her?”, I assumed.
“Maybe I do. So what?”, she proposed.
A pit formed inside my stomach. This could not be true.
“You can't like her”, I exclaimed.
“Why not? Because she's a girl? Come on, Tasneem! I didn't think you were homophobic”, she stated.
“No! You can't have her. I've had a crush on her for months now”, I proclaimed.
“And yet you're still dating Omar”, she reminded me. “But that doesn't matter anyway. (f/n) wouldn't want somebody superficial like you.”
“You're calling me superficial? Have you taken a look in the mirror recently?”
“At least I don't stuff my mouth with junk and hang over the toilet whenever something bothers me. It's only a matter of time until she finds out and then she's gonna be so grossed out by you that she will never even want to look at you again”, she claimed.
That was an excruciatingly low blow. I had not even known that Hiba was aware of my eating disorder. But throwing it at me like that made me question our whole friendship.
“You know what? You may be pretty, but that's all you got. You're a bitch who cares about nobody but herself. The only thing you can do is make everyone else feel miserable, so you don't feel as shitty about your life. That's why nobody wants to hang out with you. The only friends you have are around because of me”, I ranted.
“Wow”, Hiba mumbled and left abruptly.
Her teary eyes were burned into my mind, knowing that I had caused all of this. But right now I could not care less.
Ironically I did exactly what Hiba had accused me of. Retreat to my eating disorder.
Actually Hiba was my only friend that mattered to me, but from time to time I just could not stand her mean attitude. Yet I had not meant to lose her completely.
What was I supposed to do now?
Hiba was stubborn and hurt, which was not a good combo.
Every time I tried to approach her throughout the next days, she would straight up ignore me. Until she did not.
“Why are you even trying to talk to me? You made yourself pretty clear that you couldn't stand me. So just leave me alone”, Hiba grumbled as I had met her outside in the break.
“Hiba, I'm sorry. You're my best friend. I don't want us to be fighting”, I apologized.
“You're sorry because you can't stand the fight. Not because you're actually sorry”, she accused me.
“So what? If I remember it correctly, you were the one starting this in the first place”, I reminded her.
“Oh! Now I'm the villain. I mean … of course I am. Because little Miss Perfect could never do anything wrong”, she remarked.
You know what? Maybe you're right and this whole thing between us just doesn't work out. You wanna be a bitch? Then be my guest! I won't bother you again”, I declared and walked off without looking back.
The urge to binge was unbearable. Therefore I was relieved to have two pastries in my school bag, who were gone in the matter of a minute.
For that one minute everything else seemed to fade away. But it was over quickly and instead of my initiate pain, the guilt and fear of ruining my hard work kicked in.
My feet were moving on their own, carrying me to the bathroom, where I made sure that nobody was inside.
Then I let it all come out, deleted the sugar and fat and countless calories from my system.
A tear slid down my cheek. Was life really supposed to this excruciating?
I wiped the tear away and got out of the stall, cleaning myself up at the sink. Apparently I was having tunnel vision because I had not noticed someone standing across from me.
“Tasneem ...” It was (f/n). Shit!
I felt myself flinch out of surprise, making a mess with the water covering my hands.
The look on her face told me that she had heard me.
“Hey. Sorry you had to hear that. I think I've eaten something wrong”, I lied.
“So you're gonna go home now?”, she questioned.
“Nah. I'm already feeling better”, I brushed it off.
“You're not”, she claimed.
“No offense, but how do you want to know that?”, I shot back.
“It's written all over you”, she insisted. “Is that what you're doing when you claim to use the restroom?”
“What are you even talking about? I was just feeling sick”, I exclaimed.
She flinched slightly when I yelled at her, making the guilt return. It was not fair to let all my bottled up emotions out on her.
“You are sick, Tasneem. But not the way you're claiming to be. It's okay. I'm not judging you or anything. I just want to help you”, she noted softly.
I avoided to look at her, completely out of words. She knew. It was too late to convince her otherwise.
Suddenly she wrapped her arms around me, enveloping me in a comforting hug.
“You're so tall”, she stated after a while, grinning up at me.
“You're just short”, I teased her, making both of us chuckle.
For a short moment I forgot about everything weighing me down. I wished life could always be this easy.

Untouchable
A week later
Tasneem had avoided Han all week. Not a glance, not an interaction. She'd made a point of ignoring him, of pretending nothing had happened. For her part, Emy was enjoying her vacation, carefree and light, as if everything were perfect.
That day, after an impromptu nap, Tasneem awoke to a silent house. Everyone seemed to have gone out. She stretched slowly, enjoying the tranquility, then decided to take care of the laundry.
She entered Emy and Han's room to get some clothes to wash, not expecting what she was about to see.
Emy wasn't alone.
Her muffled laughter stopped short when she spotted Tasneem in the doorway. The shirtless man she was pressed up against immediately straightened up.
A heavy silence settled in.
- Are you serious?" gasped Tasneem, dumbfounded.
Emy gasped before suddenly turning around, her expression shifting from surprise to anger.
- What the hell are you doing here?! she snapped, furious.
- I... I just wanted to get the laundry... Tasneem murmured, still in shock.
- And you had to come in like a savage for that?! Haven't you ever heard of knocking?!
Tasneem stared at her, unable to believe what she was hearing. Emy wasn't even panicked at having been caught cheating on Han. She was just... attacking him?
- Wait... Do you realize what you're doing? asked Tasneem, gradually regaining her composure.
- It's none of your business," spat Emy.
Tasneem gave a mirthless chuckle.
- You're right, it's none of my business," she replied, crossing her arms.
Emy stared at her, her expression hardening.
- I don't give a damn about your judgment, Tasneem. You think you're perfect, but you're just a pain in the ass who's always sticking her nose in everything.
Tasneem shook his head.
She'd spent days torturing herself for what she'd done with Han, convincing herself that she'd betrayed her sister. But now it all seemed ridiculous.
She had nothing to reproach herself for.
She turned on her heels and left the room without another word.
Dinner was approaching, and the tension in the air was palpable. Tasneem had no desire to continue playing the victim, to let herself be consumed by unfounded guilt. She'd made up her mind, and what seemed like a moment of weakness would be no more than a memory. She had made up her mind.
Han sensed the change even before he saw her. There was something in the atmosphere, a different tension.
When Tasneem entered the dining room and sat down opposite him, he looked up at her.
She looked at him at last.
Her dark eyes no longer fled his. On the contrary, they scrutinized him with a new intensity, an assurance he didn't know she had.
He frowned slightly, disturbed.
And then, under the table, he felt something.
A light pressure against his leg. A touch at first, then a more assertive contact.
His gaze locked on Tasneem's, but she didn't let on. Just a small, almost imperceptible smile.
Han froze, lost.
He didn't understand what was happening. What had changed.
But one thing was certain.
It was having an effect on him.
After dinner, Han felt lost. He had tried to find an opportunity to talk to Tasneem, but she seemed totally absorbed in conversations with her father. Every time he approached her, she subtly turned away, as if she didn't want to hear what he had to say. Frustrated, he had watched her behavior silently from afar, wondering what could have changed in her.
Night fell, and the house grew quiet. Han, after circling in his room for a long time, finally decided to go out and get a bottle of water. He hoped this little gesture would help him relax a little, but as he entered the kitchen, he saw her.
Tasneem was there, standing in front of the counter, preparing her honey milk. The gesture seemed almost ritualistic to her. But as she saw him enter, she stopped for a moment, looking up at him with a look Han had never seen before, a look that was cold but charged with something more.
He stood frozen in the doorway, a strange sensation rising in his chest.
Finally, he decided to break the silence.
- Why did you act like that at dinner?" he asked, his voice slightly lower, as if afraid of the answer.
Tasneem shrugged slowly, a slight smile that seemed both amused and distant on her lips.
- What do you mean?" she replied in an almost detached tone, as if she didn't see what the problem was.
Han felt lost, a hint of frustration rising inside him. He moved forward a little, his gaze still fixed on her.
- You know very well what I'm talking about...
Tasneem didn't move, continuing to mix her milk with honey with disconcerting calm.
- So what?" she finally murmured. It was just dinner, Han. It doesn't make sense to look any further.
Han, taken aback, froze. He felt as if every word out of his mouth was crumbling, as if his mind was going in a direction he couldn't follow.
- I can't ignore myself for a week, Tasneem, and then do this. It's not... this kind of thing, it's not done
Han, increasingly disturbed, moved a little closer, not really knowing what to say. Everything seemed so vague. He couldn't work out if she was trying to push him further away, or if she was trying to warn him about something.
Tasneem moved slowly towards him, her gaze never leaving his. Without a word, she placed a hand on his chest and drew him to her.
Without waiting for an answer, she approached him and, without warning, kissed him. The kiss was both gentle and urgent, like a gesture to end the discussion, but also to rekindle something they'd been trying to push away. Han, still in shock, responded to her kiss, but he couldn't shake off the unease that was growing inside him.
After a moment, she stepped back, her gaze as piercing as ever.
- Frankly, you're right. I shouldn't have tortured myself like that this week. I was feeling guilty... I was thinking about my sister, about all this, but in the afternoon, I saw what she was doing. I saw her in your room with another man. And then I thought, why should I feel guilty when she's doing this to you? It's not fair, and I don't have to apologize for what happened between us.
Han was speechless. A heavy silence fell. His thoughts were racing. He had never imagined that Tasneem, in all her complexity, would say this to him. She seemed both liberated and scarred by what she had seen. And he, lost, didn't know what to think.
He stared at her, his breath slightly ragged. He wanted to speak, to tell her that this was no excuse, that what they'd done had nothing to do with his sister, but instead, he kissed her again.
His lips found hers with an urgency he didn't understand himself. He knew he should have stopped, that he should have stepped back, but he was incapable of doing so.
Tasneem responded to his kiss with the same intensity. Yet when they pulled slightly apart, Han frowned, his hand still resting against her waist.
- You've got no right to use me like that," he murmured against her lips, his voice low but charged with a tension he no longer even tried to hide.
Tasneem stared at him, searching for something in his eyes.
- So why are you doing this? Why do you go on, if you're so angry?
Han slid a hand down his back, his gaze dark and troubled. He didn't have a clear answer. He just knew he couldn't stop. He looked at her for a moment, then shrugged slightly before murmuring:
- Because you have sweet lips.
He caught his breath, letting his fingers graze her skin as if hesitating between pushing her away and drawing her closer.
- But I'm still pissed off.
A wry smile appeared on Tasneem's face, a smile that seemed to understand everything, as if she could see beyond his words.
- Good," she breathed, her eyes shining with an indefinable glint.
And this time, it was she who returned to capture his lips.
The kiss intensified, charged with a tension that neither of them tried to ignore. Han felt Tasneem's fingers clinging to his shirt, as if she were trying to hold him against her, to keep him there, close. He slid a hand over her hip, his thumb brushing the light fabric of her top, and felt a shiver run through her.
She didn't shrink away, on the contrary. She pressed herself a little closer to him, her short breath grazing his skin. Han knew he should stop, that there was still too much left unsaid between them, too many unanswered questions. But right now, he didn't care.
- Are you sure you know what you're doing?" he murmured against her mouth, his hand moving slowly up her back.
Tasneem looked up at him, her gaze burning with something that completely disarmed him.
- I think it's the first time in a long time that I'm sure of something.
Her words were enough to shatter what little control he had left. Han pressed her gently against the counter, their bodies brushing against each other with deliberate slowness. He slid his lips along her jawline, depositing hot kisses to the curve of her neck.
Tasneem let out a soft sigh, tilting her head back to give him more space. His hands slipped under her shirt, brushing her warm skin with his fingertips.
Han closed his eyes for a moment, fighting the urge to rush everything. He wanted to savor this moment, the feel of her body against his, the way she reacted to his every move.
- Han..." she whispered against his ear, her voice trembling slightly.
This simple whisper raised the tension a notch. He pulled back just enough to look into her eyes, searching one last time for some doubt, some hesitation. He found none.
So, without waiting any longer, he grabbed her by the waist and lifted her slightly, depositing her on the cold counter. Tasneem wrapped his arms around the back of her neck, his eyes shining with envy and provocation.
- I don't think you're that pissed off," she breathed, smirking.
Han let out a slight laugh before gently nibbling his lower lip.
- Believe me, I still am.
But that didn't stop him from kissing her again, with even greater intensity.
Tasneem tightened his embrace around her neck, his legs closing slightly around her waist as he continued to kiss her. The cold of the counter contrasted with the heat rising between them, making each contact even more electrifying.
But as he slid his hands down her thighs, ready to draw her even closer, she let out a small laugh before murmuring against his lips:
- We can't do that here...
Han stared at her for a moment, his breath short, fighting the urge to simply ignore his remark and continue.
- Why not?" he breathed, letting his lips brush against her neck, placing light kisses there.
Tasneem shivered, but she placed her hands on his chest, pushing him away slightly, though the look in her eyes betrayed anything but the desire to stop.
- Because we're in the kitchen, and anyone can surprise us...
Han closed his eyes briefly, trying to regain control of himself. She had a point. This was no time to be reckless, even if the urge to take her right now was almost blinding him.
Tasneem sensed his hesitation and, with a wry smile, she slid her fingers down his arm before stepping flexibly down from the counter. She moved closer, rising on tiptoe to whisper in his ear:
- My room is right there...
These words were enough to make him lose all restraint. He grabbed her hand and led her straight to the back door, the one that led to her room on the first floor.
As soon as they crossed the threshold, Han closed the door behind them and pressed her gently against it, capturing her lips again in a feverish kiss. His hands moved down her body, savoring every curve, every shiver he provoked on her skin.
Tasneem clung to him, her fingers digging lightly into his back as she responded to his kiss with equal ardor.
- Are you still pissed off?" she breathed, barely detaching her lips from his.
Han stared at her, his gaze burning.
- Completely.
But that didn't stop him from lifting her up again, this time to her bed, determined not to think of anything else but her.
The days passed, and the tension in the house only increased.
Emy, without even realizing it, was picking on Tasneem, putting her down at the slightest opportunity, always finding an acid remark to slip into the conversation. It wasn't frontal, it wasn't always obvious to others, but Han could see it. He could see how every jab, every subtle humiliation, every scornful glance weakened Tasneem a little more.
At first, he hadn't paid too much attention. He was still lost in the flood of his own emotions, in the turmoil of what had happened between them. But the more the days passed, the more he found himself observing, noticing the smallest details.
He saw how Tasneem didn't retaliate, how she took it in silence, sometimes gritting her teeth, sometimes simply lowering her eyes. He saw how she isolated herself, spending more time in her room or outside, avoiding open conflict.
And he could also see how, without even meaning to, his own feelings for Emy were gradually fading.
He didn't know when exactly it had started, but one morning, waking up next to her, he'd realized he felt nothing. Nothing but a vague detachment, a muted weariness.
Emy continued to act as if everything were normal, as if their relationship hadn't changed, as if she had nothing to reproach herself for. But Han knew. He knew what she'd done. And worse, he was now seeing a side of her he'd never really wanted to see before. A cruel side, a side that played on her power over others.
And the more he opened his eyes, the more he realized something else.
Every hurtful word Emy spoke to Tasneem, every gratuitous humiliation, only widened the gulf between them... and brought him closer, despite himself, to the one he'd never thought he'd see otherwise.
After the hike, Emy's mother suggested we eat at a small restaurant by a lake. The place was quiet, almost deserted, with a terrace overlooking the water glistening in the afternoon sun.
- It'll do us good to settle down a bit," she said, settling herself at a table.
Everyone followed, some more enthusiastic than others. Han sat down next to Emy, opposite Tasneem. She looked tired, but said nothing, content to watch the scenery distractedly.
The meal began in a relatively peaceful atmosphere, until Emy, true to form, found yet another opportunity to attack her sister.
- Wouldn't you like a milkshake, Tasneem? It would do you good after all that effort. Oh, but I forgot... maybe you're avoiding the calories now?
Han felt the sting go through him like a blade. He expected Tasneem to ignore him again, but this time she looked up at his sister, her gaze hard.
- You got a problem, Emy?" she asked in a calm but sharp tone.
Emy's father looked up from his plate, intrigued by Tasneem's tone.
- Why do you say that?" asked Emy, falsely innocent.
- Because you're always making useless remarks. Don't you have anything better to do?
A slight silence settled over the table. Emy's mother tried to defuse the tension by changing the subject, but Han saw something in Tasneem's eyes at that moment. A mixture of weariness and restrained anger.
And he... he felt strangely on Tasneem's side.
The more the days passed, the more he saw what he'd refused to see before. The more he realized that Emy wasn't the woman he'd idealized. And the more he found himself looking at Tasneem differently.
[___]
Han: guys, I'm in the worst possible situation
Changbin: that's nothing new
Minho: go ahead, spit it out, let's have a few laughs
Han: no, but this is really serious
Felix: always say
Han: okay... first of all, I'm on summer vacation with Emy's family
Jeongin: yeah, we know that
Han: and then I found out that Emy is cheating on me
Silence in the group...
Changbin: wait, what???
Seungmin: but... is this a joke?
Han: no, her sister saw her with a guy
Hyunjin: pffff, she dared to do that in the middle of summer while you're stuck with her family??
Chan: that's hot
Minho: well, it sucks, but you've taken worse... what's the real problem?
Han: ... I cheated on Emy too
Felix:
Changbin:
Hyunjin:
Jeongin: with whom???
Han: his sister.
Seungmin: EXCUSE ME?
Chan: wait, wait, wait. HIS SISTER???
Han: ... yeah
Changbin: NO BUT YOU'RE DEBILE OR WHAT????
Felix: I wasn't ready
Jeongin: that's the worst nonsense I've ever heard
Minho: but wait, it was only once...?
Han: several.
Hyunjin: oh no, this is worse than I thought
Seungmin: you're screwed
Chan: HOW DID YOU GET YOURSELF INTO SUCH A SHIT???
Han: I don't know, it just happened
Changbin: "it just happened"???? NO, MY BOY, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN LIKE THAT
Jeongin: and Emy, does she suspect anything??
Han: no, she's too busy putting her sister down
Felix: so, not only is she unfaithful, but she's always hurting him, and you've just... gone over to the other side?
Han: well... yeah.
Minho: it's incredible. We're in a live K-drama
Hyunjin: the real question is: how do you feel about her? Because if it's just the forbidden side that appeals to you, you're dead.
Han: I don't know... at first I thought it was just something that got away from us, but now I don't want to be with Emy anymore. The more she acts like an asshole, the more I realize that her sister deserves better.
Seungmin: except that you're just getting her into even more trouble
Han: yeah, I know...
Chan: so you've got two options: either you stop everything straight away, or you work out a way out of this crisis, because it's going to end badly
Changbin: and probably before the vacations are over
Han: yeah, I know... but I can't stop.
Felix: You're really screwed.
Han heaved a deep sigh and placed his phone on the bedside table. The screen went blank, ending the chaotic conversation with his buddies. His heart was still beating a little too fast. He knew he was in deep shit, but that didn't change the fact that he was exactly where he wanted to be.
He turned his head slightly.
Tasneem was lying next to him, on her stomach, phone in hand. Her slightly uncovered back showed the mark he'd left on her a few minutes earlier. Her hair was still a bit disheveled, and she was focused on her screen, as if oblivious to the chaos in his head.
The house was empty. Completely silent.
It was rare to have a moment like this, without the risk of being surprised. Everyone had left for the afternoon, which gave them time... too much time.
Han ran a hand over his face, trying to get his thoughts back in place.
- They're going to kill me," he muttered, thinking back over the messages.
Tasneem didn't even look up.
- Who did?
- The boys. I told them everything.
This time, she finally took her eyes off the screen and looked at him.
- Told them everything?
Han nodded.
- Everything. That Emy is cheating on me, that I've cheated on you too... several times. That I'm completely losing it.
A slight smile appeared on Tasneem's lips. She stretched slowly and put her phone back on the table.
- That's funny," she breathed.
Han frowned.
- What's funny?
She straightened slightly, leaning on an elbow, her face far too close to his.
- That you still have trouble accepting that you like it.
- Like what?
- Being here, with me.
Han opened his mouth to reply, but no words came out. Because deep down, he knew she was right. And that was the problem.
Tasneem let out a small laugh at Han's expression. He had that lost look, the one that was still trying to fight the obvious. But she knew.
She touched his arm with her fingertips, tracing an invisible line on his skin.
- You can keep torturing yourself, or you can just... accept.
Han stared at her, torn between telling her she was wrong and simply kissing her.
- Accept what?" he asked, his voice hoarser than he would have liked.
Tasneem raised an eyebrow, as if the answer were obvious.
- That you're not just a guy stuck in a shitty situation. That if you're here, it's not just an accident.
She moved a little closer, and he felt her breath against his cheek.
- That you chose to be here.
Han felt a shiver run down his spine. He should have stepped back. He should have said something, anything, to defend what wobbly excuses he had left.
But he didn't.
Because she was right.
And he was screwed.
A heavy silence settled between them. Tasneem looked at him with that assurance that always unsettled him, as if she'd already understood everything before he could even put into words what he was feeling.
Han wanted to reply, but there was nothing to say.
He was there. With her. Not with Emy.
It was a choice.
He breathed in deeply, trying to push away the feeling that took hold of him every time she got too close. But Tasneem didn't give him time to compose himself. With a slow gesture, she slid her fingers down his arm, creating an electrifying heat as she passed.
- Tell me you regret it," she breathed.
Han clenched his jaw. He knew he couldn't say that.
- Tell me that if you had to do it all over again, you'd stop.
Her gaze was anchored in his, defiant, waiting for him to cling to the illusion of a morality he no longer had.
- Go ahead, Han. Say it.
But he said nothing. Because he couldn't lie.
Because he knew he'd do it again.
Again.
Without warning, Tasneem straightened up and reached for her phone on the bedside table. As if she'd already had her answer.
- What are you doing?" he asked.
She shrugged, tapping her screen.
- Ordering food. I'm starving.
Han blinked, taken aback. The intensity of the moment had just been swept away as if nothing had happened, and he didn't know whether to laugh or get angry.
- Are you serious?
- Are you serious? Did you think I was going to beg you to love me or something?
She looked up at him with an amused smile, but there was something else in her eyes. Something deeper.
- I'm not the one in an existential crisis, Han.
She let her words hang in the air for a moment before turning her attention back to her phone.
Han, on the other hand, remained frozen, his heart beating wildly. Because he'd just realized something.
She'd already accepted what he couldn't. And this was even more important.
And that was even more terrifying.
Han looked at her for a few seconds, still in shock at the ease with which she seemed to accept the situation, while he struggled with his own contradictions. Then, without really thinking, he moved.
He moved closer, put an arm around her waist and drew her gently against him. Tasneem didn't protest. She simply let her phone fall back onto the bed as he pressed his chest against her bare back.
Without a word, he placed his lips on her shoulder. A simple, almost hesitant kiss. Then another, higher. Then a third, along the nape of her neck.
He felt her shiver.
Tasneem closed his eyes briefly before letting out a light sigh.
- Do you think this will help you stop overthinking?" she murmured.
Han smiled against her skin before continuing down her neck, planting slow, burning kisses.
- Not really," he admitted between kisses. But it helps to forget that I'm screwing everything up.
Tasneem let out a little laugh.
- You're not the only one, you know.
Han tightened his embrace around her, inhaling her scent, enjoying the simple fact that she was there, against him.
- And Emy?" he finally breathed against her skin.
He felt her body tense slightly, but she didn't pull away.
- What are we going to do about her?
Tasneem didn't answer immediately.
She turned her head slightly towards him, seeking his gaze.
- Do you want to stay with her?
Han shook his head without hesitation.
- No, I don't feel like it.
- Then it's up to you how you want this to end.
Her tone was calm, poised, but Han detected the shadow of tension in her voice. It was as if she wanted to sound detached, but it affected her more than she cared to admit.
He held her a little tighter, burying his face in her hair.
- I want to be with you," he murmured against her skin.
Tasneem closed her eyes.
She knew they were on a dangerous path. But she also knew she didn't want to turn back.

It was like any other day but different. Since Hiba is one of the most popular girls in school every thing change. I'm not confident like I used to be. I don't have anyone to stand up to me. I started to skip school not because
I wanted too but I was forced. I used to live with Hiba but she doesn't pay attention to me anymore. She didn't even care when i moved back home which I regret. I live with my mom the reason I moved out because of my mom I couldn't take it anymore. Hiba used calm me down when ever i get a bad grade and have to face my mom. But my mother knows better then taking back to Hiba but since Hiba is not here things changed.
"Hey, (f/n)" My friend smiled at me in the bus. I sat beside her and chatted with her a bit." Oh yeah, I don't see you hangout with hiba anymore. Is everything ok?" She wondered. "Yeah everything's ok she has just been busy recently" I responded with a small smile. The moment we arrived I got of the bus and went to my classroom, Just to see Hiba giggling and laughing with Tasneem. I couldn't help but feel a bit jealous but I had nothing to say I just went pass them and sat at my seat it hurts more because Hiba's seat was right beside me. But I couldn't take it anymore. I got up and grabbed Hiba to the bathroom."Hey! What the hell!" Hiba shouted "what's wrong with you Honestly (f/n)!" . "When will you stop ignoring me?" I asked "it's none of your business" she responded "ever since you have been hanging out with Tasneem you changed. It's like I don't know you anymore. Why? Just why?". She didn't respond all she did was take out her phone and scroll on it."Hey! Hiba I'm talking to you don't ignore me" she sighed put her phone away. "So what? Huh it's none of your business. Can't I have some time for myself" she yelled back and walked away. I pulled her wrist and stopped her from leaving."please Hiba. Did I do something wrong? Please tell me why are you always ignoring me in school, ignoring my calls and texts everything, please tell me" I begged. "I am just Sick of you (f/n) okay!". "Then beake up with me" I was speechless oh the words that just came out of my mouth I couldn't believe what I just said. I didn't mean it at all and I can tell that Hiba was surprised as well. We both froze for a moment then Hiba spoke "oh really that what you want?"
"No I didn't mean it Hiba" she proposed. "Sure. Sure you didn't. Never talk to me again" she threatened and left leaving me speechless. Couldn't believe I hate myself now Hiba hates me. The more I think about it the more it hits me I didn't even notice how long it have been until the bell rang I washed my face and left the bathroom. I walked in class to see hiba sitting at her usual table I sat down and Miss Abeer walked in. I didn't even pay any attention to class because I was just so focused in something else. But I know I can't change anything well I don't know.

----------------
Today was one of those days I could almost burst from excitement.
My girlfriends Hiba and Tasneem had invited me to go to Pins with them to have some fun together.
Of course Ali and Omar were going to come as well, but that did not worsen my mood in the slightest.
I had taken my time choosing the perfect outfit. Enough to look hot, but subtle enough to not look cheap. I had wanted to dress up for them.
I could not help checking my phone every minute as I was waiting for them outside. Tasneem had assured me that they were picking up and I did not need to worry about anything but showing up.
“Hey, hottie”, Hiba called out through an open car window.
She was wearing her signature smirk as she was eyeing me up and down.
“Are you gonna come in or just keep decorating your neighborhood?”, she teased me.
That made me snap out of my trance and jump into the car.
Hiba took a hold of my waist pulling me onto her lap when I intended to climb over her to get to the middle seat.
“Hey! Don't keep her to yourself”, Tasneem protested and pulled me away from Hiba by my arm.
A giggle left my lips at their behavior. They could be so sweet.
During the ride their whole attention was on me as they were complimenting my outfit and taking this chance to make out. The driver would never rat us out.
But the touches, compliments and kisses all stopped as soon as we left the car again. As if we were entering another universe.
All of a sudden Hiba and Tasneem were walking ahead and I was struggling to keep up with their fast pace.
They threw themselves at the boys, chatting away. It was like I did not even exist anymore, although I was right next to them.
Ali and Omar were nice to me as well, giving their best to include me in the conversation. But it was like Hiba and Tasneem were actively ignoring and excluding me, drawing every little attention away from me, even if it was merely a simple question.
Our teams were uneven. So Hiba and Tasneem just decided that I was not going to play and instead only watch.
When Omar considered that it was not fair to leave me out of it, he made the compromise to play together with me and switch between trys.
The girls were cheering the boys on while they played, giving them a high-five when they managed to hit a lot of pins.
Now it was my turn.
I picked one of the balls and got to the line in front of the bowling alley.
Before playing I turned back around to the others, hoping for some encouragment from my girlfriends. But they were not even looking at me. They were invested in another conversation with the boys. Honestly they appeared like they were flirting.
Tears sprung to my eyes, blurring my vision.
How could they do that to me? Why had they invited me in the first place if they did not care if I was here?
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Then I rubbed my eyes to clear my vision again.
I had no idea how I did it, but somehow I managed to get a strike, hitting all the pins at once.
Suddenly my sadness and betrayal were replaced by excitement. Maybe I had overreacted.
I made my way over to the others. “Guys! Did you see that? I hit them all”, I declared proudly.
“Nice job”, Omar complimented me.
Hiba and Tasneem were still not paying any attention though.
My face fell again as the disappointment returned.
I sat down on a chair, swiping through my phone. I was skipping through the pictures we had taken mere minutes ago in the car. If I did not have those pictures I might have thought I had imagined it all, considering how different they were acting right now.
Without saying another word I stormed outside, glancing at the others on my way. They did not notice that I was leaving. Of course they did not.
By now the tears were falling, my head hanging low hoping that no one would see.
Should I text my mom to pick me up? But then I would have to explain the situation or at least come up with a decent lie. My mind was not ready for that.
So I decided to walk home instead.
I did not care that it was dark and I was alone. I did not care that I had to walk for two hours straight to arrive home either. I just wanted to get home and hide under my blanket.
The outfit that I had felt so confident in earlier was feeling suffocating now. Apparently it was not enough. I had pictured this whole night completely differently.
It should not have ended with me walking home alone, crying my heart out.

Brighten My World - Tasneem x fem reader (Chapter 2)
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter
warnings: grieving
word count: 1.121
-------------------
Before Tasneem had become my girlfriend she had kept me a secret. She would only meet me at school when nobody was around. Her friends had had no idea that we were even interacting at all.
But now it had all changed. They all did not know the whole truth because we had decided to wait a bit longer to tell anyone about our kind of relationship. But Tasneem was trying to integrate me in her friend group.
“Have you taken in a stray?”, was Hiba's first reaction when Tasneem had introduced me to her friends.
“Shut it, Hiba”, Tasneem shot back angrily. “I won't let it slip if you try to pull her down.”
“Woah! What's gotten into you? First Sarah and now that freak? What are you trying to accomplish? Improving your status by taking in outcasts? Is Shams next then?”, Hiba mocked her.
“You know what? Forget it!”, Tasneem exclaimed and pulled me away from then.
I could feel Hiba's eyes boring into my back.
“I'm sorry, (f/n). I should have expected Hiba to act out. If I had known it, I wouldn't have tried in the first place”, Tasneem stated. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, it's fine. Don't worry about it”, I brushed it off.
“Please don't lie to me, okay? You don't have to pretend around me”, she assured me.
We were coming to a hold between two buildings, a corridor where barely any students came by.
Tasneem was still holding my hand, waiting for a reply.
“Of course it always hurts a bit to be rejected. But I didn't really hope for anything. So it doesn't bother me too much”, I explained.
“You shouldn't stop hoping for good things to happen, (f/n)”, Tasneem considered.
“Yeah, I know”, I admitted. “After all you're the best reminder that there's still hope. I guess it's just a bad habit I picked up.”
Tasneem sent me a sympathetic smile.
“Speaking of bad habits … have you finally talked to your mom about seeing a therapist?”, I wondered.
Her body language was answer enough.
“Tasneem, you need to work through it all. I can only help you so much and you never know when I'm not around anymore”, I remarked.
“Why? Are you planning to leave me already?”, she worried.
“Of course not”, I reassured her. “Sometimes you don't have a choice though.”
“That's not the first time you're saying that”, she recalled. “Why are you worrying about that so much?”
“It's my thing I have to deal with”, I alluded.
The ringing of the school bell signaled the end of the break before we could deepen the topic. I did not know if I should curse or thank it as this conversation was just as tough as it was inevitable if I wanted to build a trustful relationship with Tasneem.
After school I was visiting Tasneem again. Her mom was not even questioning my presence anymore, already expecting me to join them for dinner.
Shortly after entering Tasneem's room we ended up on her bed in a make-out session, hoping that her mom would not walk in on us.
When we were both too exhausted to continue we switched over to cuddling.
“Do you wanna tell me now? About the thing that's hurting you so much?”, Tasneem questioned.
“I haven't worked through it yet. The last time I tried to tell you I broke down crying”, I reminded her.
“I wouldn't mind comforting you”, she noted. “But you don't have to tell me if you don't feel ready for it.”
Tasneem was caressing my cheek with her hand, a gesture that was relaxing me to no end.
“What if it makes you uncomfortable?”, I considered.
“Why should it?”
“It's about the last person I had a crush on, my first love”, I confessed.
She took a deep breath. “You lost her?”
I nodded slightly, holding onto her other hand for support.
“I was too scared to tell her. And now I never will. That was the only reason why I was able to gather the courage to tell you about my feelings for you”, I proposed.
“And why you're always afraid that we won't stay together as well”, she concluded.
“Yeah”, I whispered.
Silent tears were running down my cheeks. But with Tasneem still caressing my cheek and having her to hold onto, I could hold it in check. Stop it from paralyzing me again.
“It was Layan”, I enlightened her.
Tasneem gasped at the revelation. Now I could see tears in her eyes as well.
“She was the closest person I had and Rania, her best friend, told me that Layan loved me, too. But Layan didn't want to admit it to herself. So she tried to be with someone else, which killed her in the end”, I declared.
My crying was getting stronger the more I was talking. I was choking on some words, but continued anyway: “If I had just told her, she might still be alive. It feels like it's all my fault.”
Now I could not control the sobs anymore.
Tasneem switched over to holding me in a tight embrace, until my crying settled down again.
“I'm so sorry you have to endure all of this”, she whispered. “I wish I could make it better.”
“You are”, I uttered, clinging even more to her.
We stayed like that for a while, my breathing regulating itself.
Tasneem placed a kiss on my head. “I love you”, she proposed.
“I love you, too”, I mumbled into her chest. “Thank you for wanting to be with me.”
“You were the one who started helping me first, remember?”
“Doesn't matter”, I pointed out. “That doesn't oblige you to be my girlfriend.”
“True”, she stated. “But that made me get to know and love you. It's awful what happened with Layan, but it isn't your fault that she made the wrong decisions or her brother in that matter. And even if you feel guilty about it, it made you save me.”
“I never thought about it like that”, I admitted.
“What do you think about going out and enjoying ourselves a bit? We don't have to if you're too exhausted or not in the mood for it. But I think it might help”, Tasneem suggested.
“I wanna do what makes you happy. Seeing you smile always cheers me up”, I proclaimed.
Ironically my words caused her to smile at me.
“That won't be hard then”, she supposed and pulled me up with her.

Btw I somehow turned this oneshot into a series. I've already written chapter 3 as well. I didn't plan it. It just happened. But I'm glad it did.

Brighten My World - Tasneem x fem reader (Chapter 3)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Previous Chapter
warnings: eating disorder
word count: 1.247
--------------------
My heart clenched when I heard Tasneem's tear-struck voice on the other side of my phone: “I'm sorry, (f/n). I did it again. I just … I couldn't.”
“Hey, please don't beat yourself up”, I replied softly. “Can I come over?”
There was a short pause before she answered: “Sorry. I was nodding, but of course you couldn't see.”
We would both be laughing now if she was not already crying.
“Alright. I'm on my way then”, I assured her.
It was already nine pm. and I did not want to ask my parents to give me a ride. So I sneaked out and grabbed my bicycle.
About ten to fifteen minutes later I arrived at Tasneem's house. I had never been this fast on my bicycle before.
“Hey, Tasneem wanted me to come over”, I greeted her mom, who had just opened the front door. “Can I come in?”
“Of course. You know the way”, she supposed.
Without initiating any more small talk I hurried upstairs to Tasneem's room, but she was nowhere in sight. Instead I found her laying on her bathroom floor.
By now she had stopped crying and switched over to staring blankly ahead.
“Hey, it's okay”, I promised. “I'm here now.”
I pulled her into my lap, holding her the best I could. After all she was really tall, although she honestly did not seem like it in her current state. It felt like she might break if I was not careful enough.
Once she was in my arms she started crying again and I simply let her.
“I'm sorry I let you down again”, she whispered after a while.
“Tasneem … you didn't”, I proclaimed. “You're ill. It's not your fault. You're doing anything you can to get better, even seeing a therapist now. We can't expect your eating disorder to just disappear all of a sudden. I'm just glad you called me and let me support you.”
“I love you so much”, she proposed. “I'm lucky to have you.”
I smiled down at her, gently brushing through her hair.
“Can you stay for the night?”, she requested.
“Of course”, I promised. “I didn't take anything with me though.”
“Just take yourself whatever you need. The toothbrush you forgot is still here”, she recalled.
“I already got all I need here with me right now”, I proclaimed, cupping her cheek.
“You can be so cheesy sometimes”, she declared, chuckling at my words.
“Guilty”, I admitted, joining into her laughter.
“So what do you think? Wanna get up and play some games?”, I suggested.
“Yeah”, she agreed. “Let's have some fun.”
We stayed up to play some games for over an hour, just enjoying to spend such simple time together, distracting us from all our problems.
But soon we were too tired to focus properly and hence decided to go and brush our teeth. When I was washing my hands, I could not help but splash some water at Tasneem, making her yelp in surprise.
I fled before she could avenge herself.
“Hey, come back”, she complained and ran after me.
Her room was pretty big, but not big enough for me to escape. So a few seconds later she tackled me onto her bed, pinning me under her.
“You coward”, she teased me.
Her grin faltered as her eyes moved from my own to my lips.
Tasneem let go of my hands and leaned down to kiss me.
I could taste her minty toothpaste as we had just finished getting ready for bed.
One of my hands settled in her hair while the other was pulling her body closer by her back.
I had no idea how long we were making out, but afterwards I was so exhausted that I almost fell asleep without intending to.
“I bet there are a ton of people who would be jealous of me for being with you”, I considered. “After all you're the most popular girl at school, although I honestly never really cared about that.”
“Nah, maybe Sarah took over that role now. But I don't care either”, she claimed. “Way too much pressure anyway.”
“Life would be easier if you truly felt that way, right?”, I assumed.
A frustrated sigh left her lips. “It's just hard to believe the exact opposite of what you've been taught. Trying to be the full package is too stressful”, she pointed out.
“Tasneem, you're incredible, okay? There's no one I admire more than you”, I confessed.
Some silent tears sneaked their way out of her eyes. “Thank you”, she whispered. “Still hard to see myself like that, but hearing you say that means a lot because you're actually the person I admire the most.”
“Me?”, I repeated surprised. “Why me out of all people?”
“You're the strongest person I know, doing your own thing no matter what”, she proposed. “So it's only natural.”
We shared another smile before she fell asleep. Apparently Tasneem had been even more exhausted than me. No wonder after falling back into her bad habit and crying for so long.
Ironically I could not fall asleep anymore and instead watched her peaceful slumber.
When the door opened I had to control myself to not jump and wake her up.
I sat up slightly to get a proper look at the intruder. Of course, it was Tasneem's mom. Who else would it be?
She signaled me to come over to her and I did not hesitate to oblige, leaving the room before Tasneem could wake up.
We went downstairs and settled on the couch.
“Sorry for getting you out of bed. But I couldn't resist when I noticed you were still awake”, she stated. “How's Tasneem doing?”
“No offense, but shouldn't you ask her that? It's not really my place to say”, I remarked.
“It's just … I'm worried, okay? You arrived here completely out of the blue, at night. Tasneem doesn't really talk to me. I know I haven't been the best mom to her. I placed too much pressure on her and I'm sorry for that. I just want to know how she's doing.”
I sighed, contemplating what to do. “Honestly … it's a good sign when I show up here because it means that she's confiding in me, that she's working through her feelings and not dealing with it on her own. So yeah … she's struggling. Of course she is. But she's doing the best she possibly can”, I explained. “Did you ever tell her though? That she doesn't have to be perfect. Did you apologize?”
She shook her head no.
“I think she needs to hear that, too. She needs her mom, not an overachieving mentor. Still no offense”, I noted.
“None taken. After all I asked you for your opinion. I appreciate your honesty”, she proclaimed. “Maybe you're right. Thank you for talking to me.”
“It's nothing”, I brushed it off.
“It is. You're a good influence on Tasneem”, she complimented me. “Now feel free to go back to bed if you want to.”
I nodded and started my way back.
Tasneem was still asleep and yet immediately wrapped her arms around me when I climbed back into bed, a content feeling spreading through my whole body.
She was a good influence on me as well.

I'm Right Here - Hiba x fem reader x Tasneem (Part 2)
Tumblr media
Part 1
warnings: Angst
word count: 1.098
Requested? Yes!
----------------
“Hey guys! Do you know where (f/n) is?”, Ali wondered.
“I haven't seen her since her last play”, Omar recalled.
Tasneem and Hiba exchanged a glance before taking a look at their phones, hoping for a message that would solve the mystery. But there was none.
“She didn't text us”, Tasneem declared. “Did she say where she was going?”
“Honestly I didn't even realize that she had left until now”, Omar admitted.
“Do you think we should search for her?”, Ali considered.
Maybe she just went to the restroom though. I'll go take a look”, Hiba announced.
“Let's look around for her, too”, Ali suggested. “One of us should stay here in case she's coming back.”
But even after searching for twenty minutes they could not find (f/n) anywhere.
“I have a bad feeling about this”, Tasneem mumbled. “Leaving without telling us is so out of character for her.”
“Shit”, Hiba cursed.
“What is it? Do you know anything?”, Tasneem urged her.
“She left without telling us and we didn't even notice. That's the whole issue”, Hiba noted. “We basically ignored her the whole night.”
Tasneem's eyes widened in realization. “You're right. We really gotta make it up to her.”
“I'm gonna call her”, Hiba decided. “We're leaving.”
“Well, thanks”, Omar stated sarcastically, earning a death glare from the girls.
He held up his hands in defeat. “Hey, I was just joking! Time's up anyway.”
“See you”, Tasneem exclaimed while following Hiba outside.
“She isn't picking up”, Hiba remarked.
She had probably tried about four times already to no avail, but she did not give up.
“How about driving over to her place?”, Tasneem proposed.
They hurried out of the car as soon as they arrived.
As the door did not open after the first ring, they continued ringing without a break until (f/n)'s mom suddenly opened.
“Do you think it's fun to disturb people this late?”, she complained before recognizing the girls.
“Sorry”, Tasneem apologized for both of them. “Is (f/n) home?”
“No, she said that she was going out tonight. I think she wanted to go bowling or something”, her mom remembered.
“Okay. Thanks, anyway”, Tasneem replied politely before they walked away again.
“What do you think where she is?”, Hiba inquired.
“If she didn't call her mom, then she's probably still wandering around”, Tasneem suspected.
“Then let's go find her”, Hiba shot back frustrated.
The worry and guilt they were feeling was spurring them on as they were walking toward Pins, hoping to find their girlfriend on the way.
They did not say a word, the tense air between them too thick to get a word out. Thousands of worst-case-scenarios were flooding their mind.
After a felt eternity they finally spotted their girlfriend.
(f/n)'s head was hanging low as she was walking through the streets of the city. Her mind had gone blank by now as the monotonous movement of walking was working on its own.
She did not see the other girls approaching her until she recognized Tasneem's soft voice: “Hey.”
(f/n) looked up at them, stopping in her tracks. Her eyes still red and puffy from crying. Her posture slouched from sadness and exhaustion.
Hiba and Tasneem had known before, but in that moment they realized just how much they had fucked up.
After the first few seconds of surprise (f/n) got a hold of herself again, ironically ignoring the duo now as she was simply walking ahead.
“(f/n), please stop”, Tasneem begged.
But the former did not want to listen after the way she had been treated. All she wanted was to get home, slip out of her outfit and sleep to forget it all.
Hiba placed herself in front of (f/n) and took a hold of her shoulders. “We know we screwed up”, Hiba proclaimed. “We acted like absolute assholes.”
“We never meant to hurt you. I have no idea what we were thinking”, Tasneem added.
Now (f/n) snapped back from the emptiness. Sadness, betrayal and anger were hitting her full force without any warning, making the tears return and wander down her cheeks.
“Just leave me alone”, (f/n) whispered, pulling away from Hiba and moving to continue walking.
Instead of stopping her again Hiba and Tasneem accompanied her.
“Just tell us what we can do and we'll do it”, Tasneem stated.
“We'll make it up to you”, Hiba promised.
“I … I can't”, (f/n) cried, suddenly stopping again. “Do you even love me?”, she questioned while turning around to face the girls.
“Of course”, they said in unison.
“Doesn't feel like it”, (f/n) pointed out. “It felt like I was invisible. You were basically flirting around with the boys right in front of my eyes. Do you have any idea how that felt?”
They could not respond anything to that. No words could take that pain away now.
“I was so excited”, (f/n) confessed, fighting to keep the sobs down. “I was looking forward to today the whole week. Do you know how much time I spent picking my outfit? I wanted to have fun with you and you didn't even acknowledge me. Seriously why did you invite me?”
The silence between them was heavy, wearing all of them down at the same time.
The other girls were close to crying as well now.
“I'm sorry”, Tasneem claimed. “There's nothing we could say to take it all back. Honestly I don't get it either. I just wanted to spend time with you, too.”
“It's like turning into another person when leaving the safety of a private space like the car”, Hiba considered. “Putting up a facade in front of others. No excuse though.”
“I don't wanna live like that”, (f/n) remarked.
Hiba and Tasneem both agreed.
“It's not fair to request something from you after all we've done today. But can you help us to change that?”, Tasneem inquired.
(f/n) was hesitant at first, scared to get hurt on such a deep level. But somehow she just could not imagine her life without the two girls in front of her. She really did want it all to work out.
“Okay, I'll try. But that doesn't mean I'll take shit like that again”, she clarified.
Hiba and Tasneem were overjoyed.
Tasneem immediately jumped into (f/n)'s arm while Hiba grinned at the two before snatching (f/n) away. If life could just be easy like that.

So I kinda changed up my writing style for this one as you may have noticed. I'm rlly not used to write from this perspective, but i felt like it would fit this part better. So i figured i'd try. How do you like the second part?
This story is finished now btw. So there won't be part 3.

I Love Her More - Tasneem x fem reader (Chapter 2)
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter
warnings: none i think (otherwise let me know)
word count: 961
--------------------
(f/n)'s PoV
Back in class I noticed Hiba's absence. Despite her ruff attitude I knew that this was not like her.
I wondered if anything had happened between Hiba and Tasneem. That would explain why Tasneem had been upset as well.
My eyes wandered over to her to see if she was worrying about Hiba, too.
The sad expression on her face when she switched between looking at me and Hiba's empty seat revealed that she was somehow in on this.
After a while I just could not sit still anymore. The minutes ticking by were feeling like hours. So I asked to go to the bathroom and started searching for Hiba.
Luckily I already had a suggestion where she might be. She had a favorite hiding place where she secretly disappeared when something was bothering her.
So I walked straight to that and found Hiba sitting there with her head placed on her knees.
“Hey, Hiba”, I called out softly.
Her head snapped up at my voice. “(f/n), what are you doing here?”
“What do you think? I was searching for you. You didn't come to class”, I pointed out.
A smirk crept onto her face. “Oh, how cute. You missed me already”, she teased me.
She had been crying, but I decided not to mention it.
“Wanna get back to class?”, I suggested.
“Nah. You can go back if you want”, she remarked.
“I won't leave without you”, I proclaimed and sat down next to her. “Remember last week when we were in the mall and you yelled at that guy?”
“Of course I do”, she recalled with a chuckle. “He was obviously staring at you. He wasn't so cocky anymore when I confronted him though.”
“Yeah. My hero”, I noted smiling. “I never have to worry when you're around. But you really didn't have to start a fight with my cousin on my birthday.”
“Hey, he deserved it”, she justified herself. “He was stealing the show from you on your own birthday.”
“True. But you didn't have to make him cry”, I considered.
“Not my fault that he's so sensitive”, she declared. “You deserve that somebody's fighting for you.”
“Thanks Hiba”, I uttered, a soft smile adorning my face.
“God! You're so cute”, she proposed, making me blush.
That did not exactly improve when her face got closer and she even cupped my cheek.
“Hiba, what …?”
She interrupted me with a kiss and I could not help but freeze.
I had totally misread her behavior, thought that she had just been a great friend. Apparently I had been wrong.
“What the hell?”, Tasneem exclaimed.
When had she arrived here and why did she have to see?
That made me finally unfreeze and push Hiba away from me. “Tasneem, it's not what you're thinking”, I claimed.
Tasneem completely ignored my words and instead started yelling at Hiba: “How could you do that to me?”
“Do what to you? It's not my fault that you're too chicken to make a move”, she shot back.
“So our friendship doesn't even matter?”, Tasneem inquired.
“What friendship? You made yourself pretty clear that you couldn't stand me anyway. So why bother?”
Their fight had been over me?
They continued yelling at each other, while I was stuck in the middle, contemplating what to do. I've had a crush on Tasneem for a long time now, but I did not want to lose either of them.
I took a deep breath to calm myself down before yelling at them to stop. To my surprise it actually worked out.
But now that they were both looking at me expectantly I did not quite know what to say. It felt like I was moving in a mine field, every wrong word could blow it all up.
“Have you already forgotten everything we've been through together? How much time we spent? How many of our experiences are linked to each other? How can you just throw it all away over a crush?”, I questioned.
“It's not just some silly crush, (f/n). I talked to Omar and broke up with him because I only love you. Being with Omar was just what everyone else wanted to see. But I don't”, Tasneem confessed.
I took her hand in mine and squeezed it slightly.
“Guys, I'm really flattered that you both love me so much. But I don't want any of this to ruin our friendship”, I proposed.
“It won't. But only if you make your decision”, Hiba pointed out. “Otherwise it will always be between us. If you turn one of us down we can at least work through it.”
Tasneem nodded in agreement.
“Are you sure?”, I wondered.
“Yeah. Let's get it over with”, Tasneem stated.
“Hiba, I'm sorry. I love you so much, but as a friend. So I choose Tasneem”, I announced.
A big smile captured Tasneem's face as she pulled me closer, but I shook my head at her, waiting for Hiba's reaction.
Hiba shook her head, tears evident in her eyes. Then she disappeared without a word.
I had the urge to go after her, but knew that it was too early for that. She needed time. What she definitely did not need was one of us to try to cheer her up or be sympathetic.
So instead I turned around to Tasneem and pulled her down into a kiss.
“You have no idea how long I've waited for this”, she proposed afterwards.
“Me too”, I confessed, pulling her into a tight embrace, hoping that Hiba would be able to accept our new relationship at one point.

Brighten My World - Tasneem x fem reader (Chapter 4)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Previous Chapter
warnings: threatening, mentions of toxic parent
word count: 1.210
---------------------
“Hey, (f/n). Why have I never been over at your house?”, Tasneem wondered on our way to eat lunch.
She was feeling more confident with eating around me by now and I was always right there if her mind was trying to trick her.
“Um … I dunno. I guess it just never happened”, I supposed. “You didn't miss out on anything though.”
“I know you talked to my mom”, she confessed.
I stared at her with wide eyes, not daring to say anything as I was waiting for her to elaborate.
She pushed my shoulder playfully, making me stumble a step to the side. “Don't look at me like that! It's all good. She actually apologized to me. She told me that she noticed my improved mood since you're around and that she wants me to stay like that, even if it means that I won't keep up with all my commitments. It feels like she's finally beginning to see me.”
A bright smile captured my face. “I'm so happy to hear that, Tasneem”, I proposed.
“Thank you”, she shot back. “Seriously. For everything.”
Her smile was making my heart flutter. The urge to take her hand in mine was almost unbearable, but I knew we had to stay low in that aspect at school.
“So … back to the initial topic. I realized that my mom is completely used to you showing up whenever and I don't even know yours”, she pointed out.
“You don't need to know her”, I insisted.
“Why are you so against it?”, Tasneem inquired.
By now we were sitting outside to eat. The weather was great, which was nothing new.
“Are you afraid that she might embarrass you? Because I'd laugh about some silly childhood stories, but it would only make me adore you more”, she continued.
“Or is it because of our relationship?” She had lowered her voice for that question.
“She doesn't need to know if you don't want to.”
“No, it's not that. We just don't have the kind of relationship you and your mom have and I'm pretty sure you'll be disappointed. Or rather upset, maybe”, I claimed.
“What do you mean?”, she questioned, concern written over her face.
“It's just … I know she loves me, in some way at least. But most of the time we're living separate lives. When I was struggling with Layan's death, she told me to suck it up and stop grieving over what's gone because I won't get it back anyway. I know she meant to give me good advice. We just don't get along that well”, I explained.
Tasneem placed her hand on my forearm, a supportive gesture I appreciated a lot.
“She's pretty much a hypocrite. She wants me to tell her about my feelings and plays the concerned mom, but the next day it's like our conversation never really happened and she just wants me to go on as if everything was fine. That's why I couldn't even talk about Layan a few weeks ago. I hadn't been allowed to grieve”, I stated.
“I'm sorry, (f/n). That's awful”, she noted.
“You helped me through it”, I proposed. “I just don't want her to screw our relationship up. You know … make 'helpful' comments or trigger you in any way. I like our life the way it is right now.”
“Me too”, Tasneem agreed, smiling. “But whether you like it or not, your mom is still a crucial part of your life and I'd like to meet her someday.”
“Okay”, I gave in. “But we'll do it on a day my dad comes home early. He's amazing, just busy a lot of the time, thanks to his job. So I don't get to be with him much.”
“It's settled the...”, she decided.
“Hey, Tasneem!”, Hiba called out, approaching us.
A smug grin was adorning her face while she was scanning the way we were sitting, Tasneem's hand still on my forearm.
“What's up with you recently?”, Hiba questioned. “Why are you spending all your time with that loner? What's your plan?”
“Isn't it obvious? I'm spending time with her because I enjoy it and I'm not spending it with you because you're being a bitch about it”, Tasneem declared.
Hiba was having difficulties to control herself. At least I assumed that reading her body language before she stormed off without another word.
“I can't believe her”, Tasneem ranted.
“Maybe you should talk to her?”, I suggested. “The real kind, without just clawing at each others throats.”
“I don't think that'll do”, she presumed. “Hiba's kinda living in her own little world, thinking she's the boss and has to be in control all the time. I doubt resonating with her would work out.”
“I just don't like standing in between you”, I confessed.
“It's not you. We've been having issues for quite some time now”, she reassured me. “But that's enough with all the serious talk. Let's plan something to do on the weekend.”
Somehow changing topics was easy for once, relishing in the positive aspects of our lives. Laughing together with her just felt like every bad thing was gone. So from that point on the break ended quicker than I wished for.
At the end of the school day Tasneem and I were about to head out together like we always did. Even when I did not tag along, Tasneem insisted to walk me to the bus to cherish any moment together we could get.
But today she had forgotten one of her books in the classroom. So she had to head back while I was waiting in the corridor, close to the exit.
Everyone else had already left. At least that was what I had thought until Hiba pushed me into the bathroom that was right next to me.
“What the hell?”, I exclaimed, regaining my stance.
“What did you do?”, Hiba interrogated me.
“What do you mean?”, I inquired confused.
“What did you do to make Tasneem hang out with you? You're a loner. A nobody. Why would she want to keep you around?”, Hiba questioned, her voice dripping with disgust.
“This is between you and Tasneem. You should talk to her about it”, I suggested.
Hiba took a step toward me, getting dangerously close. Honestly it was intimidating, but I stood my ground anyway, not putting distance between us again.
“You should stay away from her”, she advised me.
“Won't happen”, I assured her.
“You'll regret that”, she warned me.
“I don't think so. But maybe you should question your behavior if you want Tasneem to be your friend because I'm pretty sure she wouldn't appreciate what you're doing right now”, I considered.
“I'm gonna make your life a living hell”, she threatened me.
“I don't think that will be possible. I've already been through hell and yet here I am. I don't go down that easily”, I promised, not suppressing the grin that was forming on my face.
“We'll see”, she alluded and left me behind.

Brighten My World - Tasneem x fem reader (Chapter 5)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Previous Chapter
warnings: none, i think
word count: 937
----------------------
“Are you coming to Omar's birthday party tomorrow night? I'd really love you to be there”, Tasneem proposed.
Once again we were cuddling on her bed after school.
“Sorry, but I can't. I already have plans”, I enlightened her.
“What plans?”, Tasneem wondered, looking down at me.
I had not wanted to tell her at all, maybe after it was all over. After all she had been looking forward to Omar's birthday party for quite some time now as they were pretty good friends. Honestly it surprised me that she had waited so long to ask me to come along. Although she had probably just assumed that I would agree to tag along anyway.
“You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. It's okay”, she reassured me. “It's not like you're obliged to tell me where you are just because I'm your girlfriend.”
“That's not it. I just … I'm going to a memorial for Layan. And I didn't want to tell you because I was scared that you'd feel weird about it or wouldn't be able to enjoy the party”, I admitted.
“Do you want me to come?”, she offered.
“You don't have to.”
She interrupted me: “I know. That's why I asked if you wanted me to come.”
“I don't want you to miss out and feel out of place”, I noted.
“Still not what I asked”, she reminded me.
“Okay”, I snapped. “I want you to come! Happy now?”
She gently stroke through my hair, calming me down again. “I'll come”, she promised.
I wanted to resist again. It felt like I did not deserve her kindness, her support. But at the same time I desperately tried to resonate with myself. After all it was probably my grief that was talking, the urge to isolate myself. The guilt of not being able to save Layan that was gnawing at me. The guilt that was trapping me, telling me that I deserved to suffer.
But it was all in the past. It still hurt of course and rationally thinking it should. Layan had been incredibly precious to me after all.
Yet Tasneem was with me now and I did not want to miss out on my life with her over the one I had lost with Layan. There simply was no going back in time. And considering it was making me feel torn.
Because even if I could change the past, it would mean to lose Tasneem. So the what if scenario was not soothing in the slightest.
“I'm sorry for yelling at you”, I apologized.
“It's nothing really. Hiba's way worse, you know”, she claimed.
“I still don't like it. I don't wanna hurt you”, I noted.
“Like I did when you visited me for the first time?”, she wondered.
“Is it still bothering you?”, I inquired.
I took her hand that was caressing me and turned around a bit to be able to look up at her properly.
“Kinda”, she admitted. “You didn't deserve that.”
“But you needed to vent”, I pointed out. “You were just not used to talking about your feelings. That's why you talked me down. Of course, it wasn't the right way to handle it, but you did all you could. Apologize and not repeat it. There's no need to beat yourself up over it.”
She softly smiled down at me and gave me a kiss on the forehead.
“But about Hiba”, I changed the topic, sadly making her smile falter. “I really think you should talk to her.”
“Did you forget how she treated you? She literally threatened you”, she recalled.
I had told her about the bathroom incident. Not to screw Hiba, but to get it off my chest.
“Just view it from her perspective. You two have been best friends and all of a sudden you started hanging out with Sarah, placing her over everything and everyone else, including her. I bet she feels like you replaced her and that's why she's acting out so much. She misses and needs you. Now you're spending pretty much all your time with me, which I'm not complaining about by the way. But I think it's understandable for her to be jealous and feel left out”, I considered.
There was a small moment of silence as she was taking my words in.
“Shit”, she cursed quietly. “Why do you always have to be right?”
“Naturally gifted”, I joked, earning a laugh from her. “You could ask her to spend the weekend with you.”
“But we already have plans”, she reminded me.
“Which won't disappear until the next weekend”, I remarked. “I don't want to force you to do anything, but that way you can find out how to handle the situation. You know what your therapist advised you.”
“Be blunt with the people I care about instead of holding up a facade. Yeah, I know”, she declared.
“So what do you think?”, I questioned.
“Okay, I'll try. I do miss her”, she confessed. “Although I really don't wanna leave you alone after tomorrow.”
“Maybe I can hang out with Rania”, I suggested. “I haven't seen her in a long time.”
“Who's Rania?”, Tasneem wondered.
“Layan's best friend. We also came along well, but we kinda lost each other after Layan's death. Were too busy grieving, I guess”, I enlightened her.
“I'll text Hiba then”, she proposed.
I only hoped that it would all work out.

She's not what you think, she's an actress Part.3
Pairing:Tasneem x Female!Reader
Word count:1844
Tumblr media
You were excited to hear her answer, you knew it was probably not you since you were the one to call her out on her ED a few minutes ago. She had a crush on someone in this room. She had to act like it wasn’t a big deal, so she quickly thought of someone who she  wouldn’t hurt by her saying their name. “I have a. I have a crush on Y/N.” Your eyes widened,if you weren't already looking at her you'd probably break your neck at the speed you would've turned. If you hadn't watched the words leave her mouth, you'd convince yourself that you were hallucinating. You,she said your name. The one girl who minutes ago called her a liar and knew her biggest secret.  You just know that would make her hate you and put a metaphorical target on your back. That she'd want to ruin you, not be crushing on you. Al thought you had to remind yourself that she was probably lying, but her hesitation made you unsure yourself. The whole room was silent. "Me? You're crushing on me?" You were completely shocked at what Tasneem had just admitted, she was just about to say that she was kidding and that she was just lying to play the game. But then she just went ahead and said the truth, she definitely had a crush on you. Her friends were now looking at her too, surprised that she would be crushing on the same girl who called her out on her ED. She was a bit nervous, but she was also waiting for you to say something after finding out. Rand quickly broke the silence
"Y/N,truth or dare?" Looks like you had to talk to Tasneem later.
"I pick truth" Tasneem was surprised that you went with truth, considering how her answer for truth made her crush on you reveal. She wasn't expecting you to go with truth again so she was a bit curious to see what you'd answer.
“Have you dated any women?”
“Yes,a couple” Tasneem was a bit surprised with your answer.
"I'll give you one more,truth"
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
"You girls are tame compared to my American friends. They would be asking me some wild stuff. But to answer your question,No I'm not dating anyone at the moment"
“Do you have a crush on anyone?”
"And here I thought you were about to ask something more bold,I'm not crushing on anyone right now"
"What would they ask, your American friends?" She asked.
"Just stuff like 'have you ever smoked?' 'have you ever slept with someone?' Those kinds of questions' ' They seemed to be shocked, these girls were definitely much more innocent. You wanted to laugh but held it in. Tasneem was slightly surprised with the contrast between you and your American friends. The things they seemed to be asking were very out of hand and not things you'd ever ask someone on the first few times of meeting them. She was expecting you to talk about how weird they sounded by asking such things, but you were acting like this was all normal. Tasneem was a bit thrown off by this, as she thought you were going to go against the things they do since they don't really seem normal.
"Girls chill, all Americans ask these questions at sleepovers" You laughed. "Now who's next? Sarah, truth or dare?" Sarah was up next, she looked a bit nervous at having to play this game. She cleared her throat a bit before answering.
“Truth.”
"What's the weirdest DM you've gotten?" Sarah seemed to really have to think about this question, she really didn't get that many dms and she didn't normally reveal her weird dms to anyone. She wanted to sound normal so she decided to choose a more casual answer instead of an extremely personal one.
“The weirdest? Um,probably one from a random creep that was asking me to send him pics of my feet.” The girls all reacted with
"Eewww!"
“I know,it was really weird. I mean who even asks for that anyway? What do they even want them for?” Tasneem laughed a little bit,as she couldn’t believe anyone would actually ask something like that.
"I got those DMs soo much," you laughed.
“Wait,really?” Tasneem asked,shocked.
"Yeah,I've gotten people asking for feet pics and much worse"
“Worse? Do I even wanna know?”
"You don't,trust me Tasneem" You explained "I think we should start that movie since it's pretty late" Tasneem was slightly disappointed that you were now redirecting everything by switching the subject to the movie. She was honestly pretty curious about the dms you had gotten. But, she was quick to realize that there’s only so much she could push, so she decided to let it go. She was also getting pretty tired, so it wasn’t a bad idea to watch the movie now. You excused yourself to get a glass of water,as you held up the glass you heard someone walking behind you. You turned to see Tasneem, leaning against the door frame. She hadn't had a moment alone with you yet, this might be her only time to talk without everyone listening in. She thought this was the perfect opportunity to have a conversation with you and figure out more about you without anyone around. You decided to speak first
"So you like me?" you smirked.
"N-No." She says nervously. You moved closer to her, backing her against the wall before putting your hands on the wall either side of her head. Tasneem's face turned red, making your smirk wider.
"Is that so?" You whispered into her ear. "Well, what if I kissed you?" You drew a line with your fingers down her neck. The fake friendly tone was completely gone from Tasneem's voice, she was starting to get nervous. She could feel your presence so close to her and she knew that this situation was all getting very real, very quickly. She felt the heat of your hands against her body and your whisper on her ear, and it was sending chills up her spine. She could feel your breath on her neck, causing her face to turn even more red. Tasneem didn't think about what to say, she could only manage to barely whisper.
"Would you?"
"Do you want me to?" You placed a light kiss on her neck
"Y-yes please." Tasneem could hardly manage to form words as she was struggling to keep herself composed.
"Well since you asked so nicely" You pushed her further against the wall and kissed her. She started to let herself fall into the kiss as her own hands rose up to your back. You could feel her holding onto you tighter as her feelings overcame her and she let herself get caught up in this moment. She felt her breathing get faster and hotter with the moment, her body getting more and more heated with every passing second. You pulled away before it got too intense. "I'll take you out sometime,if you promise me something" Tasneem’s breathing was now very heavy, she felt as if she had just run a mile. But she also had a feeling that you had stopped before things really got out of hand since you mentioned making a promise. She quickly pulled herself together as you said that you’d take her somewhere and she knew she had to agree to this and make a promise so she could see you again and hopefully have another moment like this. She answered without hesitation.
“Anything.”
"Promise me,you'll get some help" For a split second, her expression faded from joy to utter confusion. You mentioning that she should get help completely threw her off guard. She thought that you were just going to ask her to keep this whole situation a secret, she never thought you'd actually worry about her mental health. It took her a moment to compose herself and respond to you.
"You want me to get help?"
"Yes,that's what I want" Tasneem was very surprised that this was your condition. She thought you'd go with something else like promising to keep this whole thing a secret. She was glad that you had mentioned this because she definitely should seek help for her Bulimia. She wasn't surprised though, she knew you were one of the few people that actually knew about it. Tasneem answered you without hesitation.
"I promise." Cupping her face you kissed her again. The moment your lips made contact with hers, she couldn't help but feel the same rush of happiness that she felt in the first moment. She was feeling completely overjoyed as she felt you cupping her face with your hands. She felt so lost in the moment that she could barely feel the outside world as she let herself fall fully into this kiss. All of her insecurities, all of her worries were gone and she couldn't feel anything but the rush of all of these positive feelings, especially now with you. She wrapped her arms around you as she kissed you back. You didn't want to pull away but you had to before someone came looking for you.
"I promise that you'll get as much as you want once you go through with your end of the deal. Tas,you don't have to pretend to be perfect, not around me" Tasneem was slightly surprised by that statement, she thought that everybody expected her to be perfect. She couldn't believe that you knew the real her and that you were telling her she didn't have to pretend to be perfect around you. She always thought she had to be perfect so that other people wouldn't see her as weak, but now she was being told that she didn't have to pretend anything in front of you. You made her feel like she was just another human and not this perfect image she felt like she had to live up to. "I've seen this before with one of my friends, the pressure of being perfect made her snap. No one noticed until it was too late. I don't want the same for you"
"I-Is she okay?" You shook your head
"She's gone" You went silent for a moment "I don't want to be telling someone this story sometime in the future but about you instead." You made her realize just how serious her problem was and it scared her even more. She felt as if she was going to completely break down in front of you anytime now, but she was trying her best to hold it in. She managed to speak with a shaky voice.
"I-I promise I'll get help, I won't let the same thing happen to me." This situation really got her thinking about the severity of her own problem. She finally managed to compose herself enough to speak again. "I promise, I'll get help for this problem. I truly will."

She's not what you think, she's an actress Part.1
Pairing:Tasneem x Female!Reader
Word count:2572
Tumblr media
You weren’t too thrilled about your mother moving you halfway across the earth and sticking you in an all girls school, you saw As the girls walked down the hallway you noticed how everyone is making space for them. You notice them slowly walking down the hall. They notice you,The one who looked to be the leader stepped forward.
“Are you new?” The one who seemed to be the leader of the group asks. “She’s pathetic Tasneem, let’s just leave.” The tall girl scoffs as she looks you up and down. While the other girl just observed.
"I'm Y/N L/N" Her eyes went wide at your last name along with every single girl in the hallway,it's a reaction you got constantly thanks to your mother's fame rubbing off on you. She had moved you here in hopes to escape the paparazzi and make your life a bit calmer. The school was closed off so no one could come and bother you,but the judgment of teenage girls was worse than the press. Although everything about these girls were fake, fake nails, fake hair, fake smiles and the fakest personalities. You had seen plenty also thanks to your mother, you were able to spot them miles away. Every girl in this school was fake, especially Tasneem.Who is completely shocked,
“Your last name is “L/N” You could already feel a huge amount of jealousy rising from her. She is still smiling, but you can tell it’s not genuine. Her “mean girl friends” look at you with their mouths open as well.
"Yes" You could tell she knew exactly who you were, but was trying to act like she didn't for some reason and you didn't feel like dealing with that right now "I know you already know who my mother and I are,so don't waste your time pretending to be shocked" Tasneem looks like she wants to rip your head off, but she is keeping that reputation she wants to have. She still has a fake smile on her face, you could tell no one had ever spoken to her like that. “Yes. I know who you are obviously, and just wow- your mother is literally awesome.” The two fake friends she is with have huge grins on their faces, trying to fit in and also kiss up to the ‘New girl in town. You knew what they were doing, nothing about them was ever real. Tasneem's jealousy was easy to see,for you anyway anyone else would fall to her sickeningly sweet tone. She was clearly trying to suck up to you in hopes of getting something, fame, popularity or just wanted a brag. She was trying to get you on her side before you 'out-popular' her and took her place as the queen of the school. She just wanted everything you had got. She tries changing the subject. “Are you in any of our classes? I don’t think I've seen you before?”
"Just moved here a couple weeks ago,it's only my fourth day here" She looks at you, wondering how she hadn't noticed you before. She didn’t seem to remember, but she was probably so used to people paying attention to her instead of her paying attention to other people. “Oh wow, so you really are new” She says this in a really fake and exaggerated way.
"So?" Tasneem then thinks of a ‘good excuse’,she just wanted to seem like ‘the nicest person ever’ because of her reputation. She couldn’t be rude to the new and popular person. “Oh- I just didn’t realize- like you’re kinda popular you know?” She laughs awkwardly with her fake friend, trying to pretend she is being funny. You knew exactly what her next. The words would be 'since you're new you probably don't know a lot of people or have a lot of friends here, wanna hangout after school?' That's what they always said, every single time. And you were right.
“Since you’re like uh- new and everything, maybe we could go to my house after school?” She says this in the most fake tone ever. She hopes you say yes so she could get dirt on you. She looks at you with the fakest smile she possibly could fake.
"I'm not allowed to go to other people's houses, you know safety and all that. I'm only allowed if I have a bodyguard with me and I've only been here for a little bit so I currently don't have one assigned" Tasneem seemed annoyed. She never expected this, for someone to turn her down. She just expected you to be as easy as everyone else was. She felt a wave of jealousy run through her once again. She tries acting all ‘concerned’  and fakes a pouty expression. “Oh- you can’t come to my house at ALL? Not even with a bodyguard for a couple hours?”
"I should have one later today when everything's sorted but I don't go to people's houses unless my mother approves, and considering we only just met she's not gonna agree" Tasneem was pissed now, she wanted to talk to you, get to know you. You knew her next question already. She crosses her arms and rolls her eyes. “How long is that going to take then? Will I have to wait a couple months?!?” She fakes a laugh, her two phony friends laugh along with her fake laugh.
"Should be done by the end of the day,I can't go over to your place unless my mother likes you. But once I have a bodyguard assigned I can go to any public place, like a mall '' There doesn't seem to be a way to shut her up so you agree, you wanted to know why she wanted to hangout with you so much. it was probably to get dirt on you but you wanted to see her attempt.  Tasneem’s attitude completely switched now, she looked even angrier. She tried her best to hold that nice person title but it was kind of slipping away. “Just a mall? Are you serious? I wanted to have you at my place, not shopping with a bunch of other people. It’s not like it’s even that dangerous!” Her phony friends just stay silent with this comment.
"Tell me, has anyone ever broken into your house to steal your hairbrush and socks? People are crazy and unlike you I can't take risks" Tasneem gets pissed again. She was annoyed by how protective you were. She felt like you were making her look bad if you had a bodyguard. She rolls her eyes. “Fine. Can we go to a cafe or something? I want to talk to you one on one.” She said this still with a “nice” tone, her phony friends were just looking at you and her. One of them whispered to the other that you were hot.
"Sure, you pick since I don't know this place yet. I'll meet you at the front of the school after classes" Tasneem had a big grin on her fake face now, she got you to basically do what she wanted. This is what she liked. She looks at you once more with that fake smile, trying to hide that attitude she was still holding. “Okay sounds good to me. I know EXACTLY where to go.” She said this in a nice voice, her phony friends just giggled and said how cool you were. Tasneem walked away.
After school,You walk to the front of the school to see Tasneem standing there just outside talking to her popular phony friends. She then notices you and quickly says bye to her friends. “Hey! I’m ready to head out now.” She says.
"Yeah,my driver should be here to pick us up at any moment" Tasneem seems to get a little annoyed at your words, probably jealous. “Oh, I thought we were going on public transport,” She rolls her eyes.
"Not a good idea, especially when you're famous. It's not very safe" your driver pulled up,got out and opened the door for you. "Where too miss?" your driver asked. you turned to Tasneem "She'll tell you the place"
“Just take us to Al-Warda Al-Qadima (The old rose), it’s just 5 minutes away.” She tells your driver. She turns back towards you and smiles with her fake smile. Now it was her time to try and get info on you. The driver opened the door for you and you got in,gesturing for Tasneem to join you.Your driver then started driving, you two in the back and your driver at the front. You could feel her getting jealous, you knew this was bound to happen. Tasneem just stares out the window, she is getting so jealous of the life you live, the fact that your drivers take you everywhere while everyone else in this school has to come on public transportation or have their parents do it. She feels herself getting even more and more jealous as the car keeps driving. You reached the cafe and your driver opened the door for you,you stepped out. Tasneem behind you, she had that fake smile once again on her face. She looked around in that jealous glare, looking to see if anyone saw her. The driver then quickly drove off, as you and Tasneem were alone at the cafe. It was a pretty busy cafe, everyone staring at both of you. They probably knew who you were anyways. All eyes were on you the second you walked in and sat down,a waitress quickly made her way over to you with two menus. Tasneem is now getting nervous and jealous at the same time. She thought you would just be an “easy person” to get along with and become friends with. This whole fame thing was making her nervous, people staring in your face, people wanting an autograph, even the waiters trying not to stare, but failing. Once both you and her received the menus, Tasneem puts on that fake nice smile, yet again. You looked over the menu
"I'll have a strawberry juice and a scone, please" You handed the menu back and looked at Tasneem. Tasneem looks over the menu for a few more seconds, she can’t believe that you weren’t ordering something with a ton of calories like her fake friends usually do. She decides that she would order the exact same thing you order. “I’ll also have a strawberry juice and scones please.” She says this in that fake nice voice, again. The waitress took the menus
"Right away" she quickly walked off, leaving both you and Tasneem alone. She stares at you for a couple seconds before she finally speaks. “Have you ever tried here before? I’ve heard that this place is really good.” She was just trying to make small talk now.
"No,I just moved her Tasneem" She stares at you for a couple more moments then decides to continue making conversation. “Oh, so you’re brand new to this city?” She asks this in the fakest way possible, her jealousy just making her more rude and nosy. You felt like rolling your eyes, but you clearly had better control over your emotions than her.
"Yes,brand new" “Sorry, can I ask you something? Why are you so cautious?” She asks, she was just trying to get some kind of information about you.
"I have my reasons, some past experience that I'd rather not talk about" You knew she was looking for something to use against you. She just nods, still staring with that jealousy in her eyes, she couldn’t help herself. Her jealousy was now completely overpowering her. She quickly asked another question. “So-,um-,where did you leave from again?”
"I've lived in America first and then Dubai,Hawaii and Tokyo for a little bit and now I'm here" She was completely shocked, she hadn’t expected you to have lived in so many places. And it was clear that she was jealous. “Wait, so you’ve traveled across the world? Your parents let you do that?” She says with a surprised tone, even though that was a dumb question. She was just trying to get as much information as possible about you now.
"You could say that" She stares at you for a couple more seconds, she decides to try again to ask you more questions about your life that would lead her to figuring out more info. “Do you have any brothers or sisters?” The waitress came back with your food and drinks. "No,I'm an only child"
“Oh, it’s just you? That’s cool.” The waitress walks away from the table, leaving the two alone again.
"Yeah,my mother's always pressuring me to make friends" She laughs a little bit. “Pressuring you?” She said this jokingly, but she was really curious to know what you meant by that statement. She decides to keep going with this. “Is your Mum like strict or something?”
"The exact opposite of strict, she's just protective"
“She probably isn’t even that overprotective, she just cares a lot.” She says this with her fake tone, thinking it would convince you that your mum was just caring and not overprotective. Your mother was overprotective and she had every reason to. Tasneem brought up the whole 'making friends' bit and told you about her sleepover this weekend. Seemingly very eager for you to be there, probably because she's trying to get more Intel on you. "Well,if she wants you to make friends I'll be having a sleepover this weekend. I'm sure you could convince her to let you come"
"I can try but I can't guarantee you anything" “Okay, well you better try.” Tasneem is just staring at you with a fake smile on her face, waiting to see your reaction. Before you could respond your phone rang, your screen lighting up with 'mom💖' you stood up.
"please excuse me" you took a few steps away before you picked up "hey mom"
Your mom was just checking in on you,you reassured her that you were fine and that you'd be home soon. You decided to ask her about the sleepover and she surprisingly agreed to let you go. You finished your conversation and hung up before you sat back down at the table. Sipping what was left of your juice "sorry about that, just my mother.Looks like I'll be able to come to your sleepover"
“Great!” She was just trying to seem genuine when deep down inside, you could tell that she was jealous.Tasneem just took another sip of the juice and smiled, this time at least it looked genuine. But you knew it was fake, now she had to step up and make her party impressive. To make herself look good and try to look on your level. She finishes the rest of her juice quickly and puts down her cup.
"If you're done,my driver's here to take me back home. We can drop you off if you'd like"  “Oh, that would be nice, thanks.” She says this with her fake tone. You soon arrived at Tasneem's house
"I'll see you tomorrow then" Tasneem stares at you for a few seconds before she quickly says bye to you.
“See you tomorrow” She fakes her nice tone once more, but this time it’s a little more real.
