STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH | 3.07 EXTRACTION

Okay, my turn to go full tin foil hat on Tech living though that fall. So.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s seeing this:

“You have to admire ‘em. They find a way to survive.” I know the ice vulture is Crosshair’s thing, but its silhouette also looks like the marauder, and when I think of the marauder, I think of Tech. I think there’s more to tease out here with Tech and Crosshair parallels, but THEY. THEY find a way to survive.

Anyway, I’ll be getting a fitting for a clown wig if y’all need me.

So I don't have any sort of concrete theories as to how he survived and/or got away from Eriadu, but what if Tech is alive and gathering the allies the Batch made over the course of the first 2 seasons and will appear right when his brothers need him most in the finale?? And CX-2 was just a red herring??? I am just not convinced the writers would go to such lengths to avoid the word "dead" when describing Tech for the past year and also have this mysterious character who is so suspiciously like Tech but then have him not be Tech and just not bring him back at all. That would just be pointlessly cruel and bad management of fan expectations. I also think that as the episode count winds down and we get less and less time to see the Batch together, the chances that we're getting either a clone rebellion-focused show OR Clone Wars-style show with split focus between Ventress/Quinlan/the Path and the clone rebellion (both of which would feature the Batch) only go up. Why else would they leave such little time with these characters they have spent so much time and energy on?? Totally could be delulu here and my sanity is probably too dependent on this hope of seeing the Batch more past the end of this season, but if they don't bring Tech back or have a version of a wider clone rebellion show featuring the Batch in the works, it would feel like such a squandered opportunity...

Oh God... Imagine that IS Tech, brainwashed into being "A Believer" like the Clone that tried to assassinate Chuchi.

And imagine his brothers manage to stun him and rescue him. Then he wakes up on the Marauder and the brainwashing kicks in.

He follows protocols for being captured and tries to bite down on his suicide tooth.

Realizing this, Wrecker leaps forward and jams his fingers into Tech's mouth to stop him.

Wrecker's yowling in pain and Tech's just like "GRRRRR" trying instinctively to bite through Wrecker's fingers.

They stun him again and then the first stop is a doctor than can safely extract the suicide shock tooth. And sew up the bites wounds to Wrecker's fingers. 😂

More TBB Thoughts - Echo

SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2

I want to address the "we're in this situation because of Omega" thing.

I've seen a couple of people calling Echo an asshole for this, but if we're being completely honest here, he's not wrong???

It isn't Omega's fault. Echo knows that. But he isn't wrong in saying that Omega is the reason they are in this situation. It is her presence in their lives that means they are in this place, but that doesn't mean it's her fault.

People's lives/life circumstances change when a child arrives and that's exactly what has happened to The Batch. It doesn't mean that it's the child's fault though.

Echo doesn't blame her. He never did. But it's also understandable that she heard his conversation with Hunter and felt guilty. Her presence has altered their lives and she feels responsible for that. That's why she tries to get the treasure. Because she wants to help them, not burden them.

And once Echo finds out that she feels like a burden because of what he said, he makes sure she knows that that's not the case. He understands that her overhearing what he said hurt her and he rectifies that. She didn't know that he doesn't blame her and that's understandable.

But as I said earlier, Echo isn't wrong.

What he said was the truth. Okay, it's the bitter truth, and not everyone wants to hear it, but it is the truth.

He never blamed Omega because it was never her fault. But he was the only one willing to stand up and point out that Omega's presence has altered their lives and not always for the better. Looking after a child is difficult, it causes problems. Echo knows this. But he also knows that the sacrifices are worth it because he would never want anything to happen to her.

Echo is someone who will stand up and say what needs to be said, even if it isn't easy to hear.

Crosshair trusting in Echo, his team. When he told Rampart to relax it didn’t even sound snarky, it sounded like genuine reassurance.

Rampart was the one that said the line "Abort the mission."

OH my god this is probably my favorite episode of the season so far. Things have been really heavy with the overarching plot so I feel like we needed a little bit of a breather.

The creators did so well balancing the script for this one between the humor, the tension (especially at the end of 'will they attach on time') It almost felt like a callback to how a TCW episode would be balanced.

I'm relieved to know they literally just took the paint off their armor to 'blend in' (which were they really?) But I've been stressing all season that something horrible was the reason for them scrubbing the paint off.

I needed this episode, we all needed this episode to have some action and progression in the overarching plot with some good humor. Not the only two (three) things missing.

WHO IS CX-2?? (It's Tech. I won't be taking notes)

I have a lot of thoughts regarding the first three episodes that are bouncing around my brain and I'm going to try and wrangle them up here in this post-

Crosshair's shaky hands. I can see the floodgates of all the angsty art and fics that are going to come out of that. IT AFFECTING HIS AIM??? Gods above- If we get a scene of someone holding his hands while they're shaking I'm going to lose it

I'm a fucking clown for thinking we'd get Crosshair's reaction to the news of Tech's death. Absolutely CLOWN. Like they didn't give us Echo's reaction to Fives, of course they wouldn't give us Crosshair's to Tech's

Speaking of Tech,,, I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that special trooper in all black is totally him,, right?? The scrawny ass legs?? The goggles on the helmet?? Fuck,, I even think I saw the guy limp away.. It HAS to be him

Crosshair is such a little shit. I love how he was trying to dissuade Omega from escaping with him by saying shit like, "If I got the chance, I'd leave you behind" and the moment that Omega's like, "I've got a plan" he's like "What do I do?"

Them hijacking a whole squad's ship was fucking hilarious though, get fucked

SO DOES THIS MEAN WE HAVE TO WATCH OMEGA GET CAPTURED AGAIN?!?!

Either next episode we're going to get Hunter & Wrecker back on Pabu or continuation of Omega and Crosshair crashing their ship somewhere and Omega potentially being captured again and Crosshair eventually being reunited with Hunter & Wrecker (pretty please)

Anyways,, thankfully the episodes weren't as devastating as I thought they would be but I know it's only going to get worse from here before it (hopefully) gets better.

I feel its most likely gonna be hunter because if it was crosshair it would be too obvious a bit like with tech last season. But seeing omega mirror crosshair and hunter watching them it gives me the vibe of hunter making sure he would be good to her if he were to die.

Anyways I hope I’m wrong because I don’t want them to die but yknow Star Wars and heartaches…
