I'm thinking about this again.

Saw a funny clip of Ezra earlier and then thought about Rebels too hard and ended up crying and then crying again about it in the shower.

I miss you so much Star Wars Rebels.

Idc what anyone says, to me, Star Wars Rebels is made up of everything wonderful about Star Wars and just everything that makes Star Wars Star Wars.

I miss when TV shows had multiple episodes and several seasons. I know Rebels didn't get to have like Clone Wars treatment or anything, but it got a hell lot more than something like Bad Batch or any of the live action Star Wars TV shows.

Idk, I just,, thinking about them™️

So fun and whimsical. But it could also be serious when it needed to. Ezra Bridger being like the best character ever. The diverse main cast. The tying between TCW and the Original Trilogy and their characters. The found family. Thrawn. Kallus. Kanan just being the best Jedi ever. Kanera. Chopper being an actual menace. The founding of the Rebellion. Having hope. Redemption arcs. Cool alien creatures and species. Just,, ugh.

I'd kill for Star Wars to make another show like Rebels again.

Sometimes I think about how the Ghost crew consists of two aliens, three poc humans, and a droid whose model isn't even being manufactured anymore and I just,,

The same can't be said for the VAs necessarily but the fact that all these characters look the way that they do and have that shared experience of their people, their culture, and/or their planets being exploited or straight up destroyed by the Empire is just so so satisfying to someone like me.

I just love how diverse the main cast of the Ghost crew is, like that's something you can do in animation. It's a lot easier to create characters who aren't human when you're animating versus if you're doing live action. Like when's the last time we had a colorful alien main character in a star wars project?? The other aliens we've gotten have all been bland browns and dark colors. As excited as I am for Andor, nearly the ENTIRE cast is made up of human characters! This is a galaxy far far away! Where are the aliens???

But I digress, every now and then I see a picture of the Ghost crew and it just fills me with warmth. Just an odd family group made up of so many different backgrounds, colors, and characteristics. Yet they all have similar life experiences, they've seen some of the same fucked up shit happen time and time again, and they all have this goal of going against the oppression they and the galaxy face,, and that's just beautiful.

Gay, Reciposexual, and greyromantic I mean,, just look at him. Now here is a character who was made for the queer formerly gifted kids who are now burnt out. And idk, I just can't see him with a woman. You'd suggest that, and he'd be the type to go "Ew 😒."

Commander Cody:

Fives:

Grey Aroace, Bi I saw aroace Fives and it changed my life. Why not project onto my favorite? I think he fucks around every now and then but he cares more about looking out for his brothers and trying to win the war more than anything.

Commander Fox:

Aroace I lowkey fuck with Foxiyo but I also love them as a queer platonic pairing. Fox's one true love is a fucking break and a whole pitcher of caf. And also he's my fave so he gets hit with the projection beam.

He has BARELY changed, just a newer outfit and a couple more accessories, and more detailed but he needed to be redesigned

I hate to break the chain of all these lovely bits of art but all I've got is this bit of this Crosshair and Tay'kaa fic that I'm slowly getting through.

Deep down, it was what Tay wanted. If he could, by the stars, he wanted to give that little girl a stable, peaceful life and the childhood he never got–the life Phelia never got to live. He knew that was the same for Crosshair. That’s where Crosshair was coming from, their pasts be damned. It was how Crosshair’s brothers and their partners all felt for their own kids, and to Tay’s horror, he realized he wanted that too.
