Australian Skilled Visas on Priority for Nurses, Teachers; Apply Now!
Highlights: Priority to nurses and teachers while granting Australian skilled visas.
Australia is addressing its scarcity of nurses and teachers by prioritizing their skilled visa applications.
Those in the occupations on the priority list will get their visa applications assessed in three days.
For some Australian skilled visa types, application processing has been done to ministerial instructions with PMSOL scrapped.
Australia needs more professionals, including nurses and teachers. In fact, there’s a list of professions that are used to prioritize the order of assessment of applications for Australian skilled visas. This new system works on priority occupations set by following ministerial instructions.
Now, the skilled visa applications of professionals like nurses and teachers will be assessed within as early as three days.
Since the abolition of PMSOL (Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List), the ranking of visa applications is done based on professions. Those in demand are given weightage.
These are professions like nurses and teachers who are urgently needed in Australia in large numbers. To gain a perspective of this situation, consider this fact. It’s expected that a shortfall of teachers in Australia by 4,000 positions will be witnessed by 2025.
Tumblr media
Unlike the current system of skilled visa application assessment, PMSOL had a large list of occupations. PMSOL had even those professions which were not critically lacking in skilled workers. This made PMSOL ineffective and was replaced by the currently active priority system.
Priority in doing visa application assessment will be given to the following high-demand occupations. These professionals will get their Australian skilled visa applications processed at the earliest:
School teachers
Counselors and psychologists
Nursing support workers
Childcare workers and childcare center managers
Medical scientists
Social workers
Aged and disabled carers
Medical technicians
Australian visas processed as per priority
Here’s a list of visas that are processed according to the new priority standards:
Subclass 124 (Distinguished Talent)
Subclass 188 (Business Innovation and Investment) (Provisional)
Subclass 191 (Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional))
Subclass 489 (Skilled – Regional (Provisional))
Subclass 858 (Global Talent)
Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme)
Subclass 189 (Skilled – Independent)
Subclass 457 (Temporary Work (Skilled))
Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional (Provisional))
Subclass 887 (Skilled – Regional)
Subclass 187 (Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme)
Subclass 190 (Skilled – Nominated)
Subclass 482 (Temporary Skill Shortage)
Subclass 494 (Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional))
Subclass 888 (Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent)

Guess who picked up their (student) resident visa today 🎉🎉 (yes, it is I) However, the one brain cell still kicking around in my skull by the end of this week decided it had had enough of keeping up appearances after class let out, so on the way there I missed my metro stop (it was only two stops down), then walked in the wrong direction for so long that I finally noticed something was amiss because I’d reached an entrance for next station (I’ve been to this government office twice previously, it’s not a new destination), and got lost again on the return, wandering mournfully (and sweatily) in an underground passageway I thought was leading to the MRT (actually located 150 meters back behind me). Later, finally at home, I tried to make some instant noodles, and reached for the kettle I was certain had finished boiling only to discover it was back by the sink because I had never filled it up in the first place. Two more weeks til my semester break, two more weeks.

New Zealand is providing the perfect opportunity for all the Secondary School Teachers out there to get a straight residency pathway. How Teachers can apply for Canada PR in 2023?
Tumblr media
Canada, with its stunning landscapes, diverse culture, and high-quality education system, has become a sought-after destination for professionals around the world. If you're a Canada PR for Teachers your permanent home, this guide will walk you through the process of applying for Permanent Residency (PR) in 2023.
Understand the Express Entry System
Canada uses the Express Entry system to manage applications for permanent residence under economic immigration programs. The system assigns points based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language proficiency. To begin your journey, you'll need to create an Express Entry profile online.
Eligibility Criteria
Before you start the application process, ensure you meet the basic eligibility criteria. Generally, you must have at least one year of continuous full-time or an equivalent amount in part-time work experience in a skilled occupation within the last ten years. For teachers, this could include roles such as elementary or secondary school teacher, lecturer, or teaching assistant.
Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
Teachers applying for Canada PR must have their education credentials assessed. This process involves verifying that your degrees, diplomas, or certificates are equivalent to Canadian standards. There are designated organizations authorized to conduct this assessment, so make sure to choose one recognized by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Language Proficiency
Proficiency in English or French is a crucial factor in your Express Entry application. You'll need to take a language test approved by the Canadian government to prove your abilities. This is typically the IELTS for English or the TEF for French. Aim for a high score to maximize your points and improve your chances of receiving an invitation to apply.
Gather Required Documents
To avoid delays in the application process, make sure you have all the necessary documents ready. This includes your ECA report, language test results, reference letters, proof of work experience, and a valid passport. Ensure that all documents are clear, complete, and in the required format.
Make sure check this:  age limit for international students in canada
Create an Express Entry Profile
Once you've gathered all the necessary documents, it's time to create your Express Entry profile. Provide accurate information about your education, work experience, language proficiency, and other relevant details. Your profile will be assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, and candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for PR.
Job Bank Registration (Optional)
While not mandatory, registering on the Job Bank can increase your visibility to potential employers in Canada. This may lead to a job offer, which can significantly boost your CRS score. If you receive a valid job offer, be sure to update your Express Entry profile accordingly.
Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA)
The highest-scoring candidates from the Express Entry pool are issued Invitations to Apply for permanent residence during regular draws conducted by the Canadian government. Keep an eye on the draw results, and if you receive an ITA, you'll have 60 days to submit your application for Canada PR.
Submit Your PR Application
Once you receive an ITA, it's time to submit your complete PR application. Pay close attention to the instructions provided by IRCC and ensure that all required documents are included. Failure to submit a complete application within the specified timeframe may result in the rejection of your application.
Medical Examinations and Police Certificates
As part of the PR application process, you and your family members (if applicable) will need to undergo a medical examination conducted by a panel physician approved by IRCC. You'll also need to provide police certificates from each country you've lived in for more than six months since turning 18.
Pay the Application Fees
PR applications come with processing fees that must be paid online. Make sure to pay the fees promptly and keep a record of the payment confirmation. The fees cover the primary applicant as well as any accompanying family members.
Wait for the PR Decision
After submitting your application, be patient. The processing time for Canada PR applications can vary, but you can check the status of your application online. If additional information is required, IRCC will contact you.
Land in Canada and Activate PR Status
Once your Canada PR is approved, you'll receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a permanent resident visa. You must travel to Canada before the expiry date on your visa to activate your PR status. Upon arrival, Canadian border officials will validate your documents and officially welcome you as a permanent resident.
Conclusion
Applying for Canada PR for Teachers in 2023 is an exciting opportunity to build a new life in a country known for its inclusivity, beautiful landscapes, and high quality of life. By understanding the steps involved and following the guidelines laid out in this article, you can navigate the process with confidence. Keep in mind that immigration policies may change, so always refer to the official website of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for the most up-to-date information. Best of luck on your journey to becoming a permanent resident of Canada!
