When team black’s very own perfect male wife, Daemon Targaryen, goes behind his wife’s back, overrules her decisions, and stains her reputation…

I been trying to tell team black that daemon ain’t a male wife for the last year to no avail. That man has not once given a crap about Rhaenyra or what she wants or believes in. He believed that grooming her would lead to her being subservient to him and bending to his will so he could be king.

He’s acting like he’s king. Because in his eyes he’s the real power. It’s why he chokes her when she isn’t decisive like he wants. It’s why he makes ulterior plans without her permission to get what he wants. It’s why he ignores her when she needs him in pain and fear and grief. And most importantly, it’s why he sullied her name.

He is angry that he is behind Rhaenyra in succession, angry that he relies on her claim to get himself and his blood on the throne, angry that he has to answer to her instead of the other way around. So he will destroy her claim and her reputation so that he is more loved than her.

If you wanna be a fan of daemon because he’s just a bad person and you like how bad he is…go ahead. But I’ve had enough of the team black “perfect innocent meow meow male-wife girl dad daemon” narrative. He’s a pedophile, a predator, a misogynist, a wife beater and murderer, and a genuinely despicable person who just had a child killed to suit his blood lust and hatred as well as to ruin the reputation of the woman he resents for being more than him. Who's greatest (book) contributions were procuring young maids for Daemon to deflower, organizing the murder of a six-year-old, having said six-year-old's sister, mother, and grandmother brutalized, (allegedly) suggesting Alicent and Helaena be sent to the brothels and be forced to have bastards, (allegedly) playing a role in Helaena's death, and convincing Rhaenyra to put a hit out on a sixteen-year-old black girl. That Mysaria?

but of course, hotd would have us think her ultimate goal is protecting vulnerable women and teaming up with Rhae to fight the patriarchy when her book counterpart gained all her power and influence by exploiting the weakest and most vulnerable women and young girls in King's Landing. something something women will take advantage of other women to carve out a scrap of power and safety in a patriarchal world but she's not on team green so of course she can't be bad.

Anyways... every time a king's landing character speaks of Mysaria positively know that there's a reason they called her "Lady Misery" in the books 🙃

Okay they didn’t have the time to be sweet and gentle they had SHIT TO DO. The like three scenes we have of Harwin and Rhaenyra were filled with so much tension and genuine love for one another. I have no god damn idea how they were keeping their hands to themselves.

AND I know dame well they were getting freaky in the worst possible places because where else are they gonna do it? Her room? The dragon pit? His room? The city watch bunks? Laenor’s room? In one of the many hidden passages ways?

THEY HAD THREE KIDS IN TEN YEARS! Daemon and her had three in six. If HARWIN AND NYRA WERE MARRIED I know damn well there’d be a whole baseball team of “plain” brown hair, dark eyed little Strong Targaryens running a muck in the Keep.

In conclusion if we saw Harwin tame that dragon none AND I MEAN NONE of us would give daemon the time of day again

I’m sorry when did getting killed in a battle or burnt to a crisp become a more dignified way to die? Has this fandom run so far with the notion that women are only valuable if they are masculine or fighters to the point that we find gruesome deaths in battle as a superior way for them to die?

Why must a woman be a warrior or a fighter to have value? Why must she seek power in traditionally masculine ways to be powerful and respected? Why does this fandom wish for all women to be the same cookie cutter, fighting girlboss lest she be titled a misogynistic pathetic trad wife? What is wrong with this fandom and their glorification of masculinity and violence and their continuous desire to have any soft, gentle, kind character be changed into a fighter or else they will ridicule and hate her?!

Helaena deserves far better than her book canon death. But she also deserves better than to die in a battle for a war she didn’t start that has already ruined her life in an unimaginably painful way.
