hey so, this might sound weird i get it, i will be spying on myself using stalkerware for an art project over the next few weeks, i am doing this on an entirely separate phone (for privacy and safety reasons), which means that if you want to be a part of a weird cyberpunk tech art project you can send me text messages to that phone. be aware that anything you send to the phone will be uploaded to the servers of a stalkerware company, so yeah, keep that in mind. all phone numbers (and potential other PII) will be redacted for the project i'll be using the data for, but message contents MAY APPEAR.
so yea with those disclaimers out of the way, feel free to message me at +41772840150 and i'll try to reply to as much as i can! (keep your international text message rates in mind, the phone number is swiss)
if you want to support this project reblog this + if you can afford it support me via ko-fi and make sure to read up on my latest stalkerware blog post
this cyborg babe is my biggest achievement of this week as i was trying to get myself to draw her for so long but was always scared of the complexity (i don't usually draw robotics). finally she's here and in two colors!
@gadgetpatch has my new character shader nearly finished... Look at her... Look at my baby daughter Vesna she's so pretty now....
And go hire Dana for your projects she's the best tech artist you could wish for
My rigging professor makes reference videos for us to watch as he rigs, to demonstrate new material (it’s largely useless because he goes at the speed of light over brand new concepts but whatever).
So right now we’re working on a quadruped. I got a little miffed when he saw my model, he was critiquing the anatomy on the dragon I made and I disagreed with his sentiments heartily. Two other creature artists who had looked it over were also perplexed by his feedback but I let it go.
So I’m watching his video later in the evening and he’s decided to rig a horse. He starts off by saying he did a bunch of research first. He said things like “wow! Did you know they don’t have clavicles? That’s their scapula!” and “Oh my gosh they walk on their finger bones!” And I’m sitting there like yeah yeah, the horse finger bones, we’ve all seen it.
He starts showing the skeleton he built to rig on and all the joints and it looks normal….
But then. THEN!
He gets into the movement and this is how he made the horses front legs bed.
I screaaaaamed. I was laughing so hard I almost fell out of my chair. I kept waiting for him to be like “Ah yes, this horse is the stuff of nightmares” and fix it but he didn’t!
I finally dropped a comment when I could breathe again being like “Hey so that front knee…” He felt very silly and said he’s gonna fix it but I’m saving this pic for when I’m sad.
Some of my favorite streamers started playing Valorant and I really liked the way the barriers that prevent players from entering the play area at the beginning of the round looked, so I tried recreating the effect in Unity !
I absolutely love the stylized aesthetic of the vfx in this game, and how matte the shading is. It looks so good.
Oh hey I just joined tumblr so I figured I'd make a lil introduction post.
I'm Andrea, a trans woman in her 30s and a tech artist in the video games industry. Right now I'm working at Iron Gate studio on Valheim!
In the past I've done lots of other fun 3D art things like work on an official Doctor Who game, and I also made Mildred Thoughtslime's old 3D background for her videos.
When I'm not working you can find me playing the EWI (electronic wind instrument!!!) or most likely streaming myself at https://twitch.tv/andiicraft pretending to be a Deputy in the wild west. Or relatively wild, anyway - it's 1902 after all.
