That said though, yes, the cause of your discomfort is deliberate on my part. I knew from the day I started FtGoG that it’s going to feature a thorny Gaara, Kagome, Rasa situation. Why? Because a central theme of FtGoG is reversed mirror images (ala how Kag is a reversed mirror image of Kaguya). Remember that thorny Kikyo, Inuyasha, Kagome situation from canon Inuyasha? Yeah… now you get to see the situation from a different perspective. Doesn’t matter whether you are InuKag or InuKik fans. I’m going to make you squirm when you see the reversed mirror image of your old OTP and experience the perspective of the opposite side, see what the view of you and your old OTP is like for people of the other side.
