Autumn, 1900
For the rest of the day, Winifred worked quietly; still rather disoriented from her train being delayed that morning. Those sorts of things always seemed to put her in a strange mood, and Francis' genuine reassurance over her insecurities had only made it worse. She had never intended to lie to her coworkers about who she was; it was an honest mistake — when she filled out her application; she signed her maiden name, Monet, instead of Baudelaire and didn't notice until she was proof reading before handing it in; and she had truly had intended to change it. However, for a fleeting moment she thought, 'why can't I be someone else for a while? It would only be like playing a part,' and soon, she was posing herself as a 30-something year old spinster trying to make her own way in the world. There at the Windenburg Daily, she was not just Mrs. Baudelaire, a rich man's life, or a mother struggling to exist outside of that title. Of course, she considered the idea of explaining the mishap and coming clean. Except that, when she thought of how angry JJ, Terence, and especially Francis would be, she could never bring herself to try. As the years passed by, her double life had brought her the sense of self she'd been longing for. But she was no fool. She knew it was not a matter of if her folly would catch up to her, but when; and all she could do was hope that at the very least, she might publish a few stories beforehand and it would somehow be worth it.

transcript below the cut
*click* *click* Winifred: oh, bullocks! *panting* I'm sorry I'm late, guys. My train was delayed Terence: Relax, Winnie; he isn't here yet Winifred: But, I hate- Francis: He's right, Win; you need to learn to relax a bit <the day goes on> *typewriter clicking* Francis: The days just get longer & longer. Winifred: Shhhh!!! Terenece: Here comes- JJ: *groggily* Good morning everyone. *in unison* Morning, JJ! Winifred: *mouthing* I forgot the coffee. JJ: Winnie, dear, my coffee? Winifred: Um, yes, I- Francis: She wanted you to try the coffee next door! Terence: She was just waiting for you to arrive. JJ: Ah, what a splendid idea! Winifred: Well, you know, I just thought with it being so chilly and all. JJ: Good thinking; Francis, go along with her. Francis: Yes, sir. Winifred: We won't be gone long. Francis: It smells so good in here. Two coffees, please. *liquid pouring* Winifred: I don't think I make a very good secretary. Thank you for covering for me back there. I don't know what I'd do without you and Terence. Barista: Two coffees, to-go! Francis: You know we like having you here, right? JJ, too. He likes you a lot. He's just... Winifred: Uptight? Francis: Well, I was going to say particular, but I suppose that is part of it, yes. And you're not a lousy secretary, okay? Terence and I understand it's a hard life for a spinster, but we don't see you that way. Always remember that. Winifred: Yeah...I-I will...

What if Terence D'Arby was in the Jojolands
Tumblr media
Who do you guys think each of them would main in mario kart (my headcanons under the cut)
Tumblr media
Jodio - Shy Guy (specifically the dark blue version)
Lowkey a pro at this game. Likes to challenge himself in time trials and knows all the best cart combinations. If there is a shortcut on the track, he WILL take it (and will almost always be successful). Actually enjoys Rainbow Road (the real reason for his psychopath diagnosis).
Tumblr media
Dragona - Pink Gold Peach (I could see them picking Daisy too)
Just there to have a good time tbh. At least most of the time, because every now and then when they're doing particularly well their competitive streak kicks in, and trust me – once they get into it, they get REALLY into it (cross them at your own risk). Favorite track is Cheep Cheep Beach.
Tumblr media
Paco - Bowser
He thinks gaming is dumb and a waste of time (definitely not because he sucks at it). On the rare occasion he does get convinced to play, he keeps bumping into walls and other players (it doesn't help that he picks one of the heaviest characters in the game). Known for notoriously running into banana peels. Gaming sessions usually end in him "inviting" the other players to the gym.
Tumblr media
Usagi - Luigi
Relates to Luigi on a personal level for being the underappreciated helper of the group. He's actually quite good at the game. His aim is freakishly accurate and he loves to hoard items to target other players (for unknown reasons they seem to hit everyone but Dragona). Similarly to Jodio, he takes shortcuts almost every chance he gets, but unlike Jodio, it doesn't always go so well. Also probably likes Baby Park like the freak he is.
Tumblr media
Charmingman - Dry Bones
Used to play with Mauka a lot, so he's surprisingly good, and can get quite competitive too. Drives solely on bikes, which give him some good ol' maneuverabilty to avoid all those damn banana peels Usagi keeps throwing around. Secretly loves the music tracks and sometimes listens to them while riding his bike irl, imagining himself to be in a race. Favorite item is Boo.

THE BONES WE HAUNT - WIP Intro.
Tumblr media
Title: The Bones We Haunt.
Genre: Historical Fiction, Gothic horror, romance, novella.
Status: First Draft + development.
Synopsis:
November, 1905.
While on holiday in Cambridge and attending museum lectures with her mother, Jane Sterling seeks to make this her chance to officially pursue her love of paleontology. While her family encourages the pursuit of passions and challenging rigid social norms, the institutes in place hinder her passion, making her resort to dressing brightly and speaking loudly for attention.
Jane's chance comes to reveal itself in the form of the wealthy and reclusive Sir Terence Hayes, who’s come in search for her father, the esteemed paleobotonist Dr. Samson Sterling, to appraise fossils found in his garden. Her mother eagerly volunteers Jane to go in Dr. Sterling’s place as he remains ill in America, and Terence brings her to his isolated family's estate in the vast, deep, muddy marshes of Wolf’s Run. And the land is shrouded in urban legends. There are whispers of 'The Wolf's Run Beast,' the 'Monster of the Marshes,' that haunts the land under the cover of night, and as Terence leaves Jane to her work he is hell-bent that she's to return to Cambridge before nightfall.
However, freak storms rage, causing the marshes' waters to rise and wash out the roads in flash floods before Jane has a chance to return, leaving her stranded at Wolf’s Run - and at the mercy of all that lurks there.
As night looms, the staff hastily depart, an eerie silence falls, Terence forbids her from even coming near the cellar, and, most importantly, he warns her against leaving her room before dawn. All is merely a strange act to Jane, brushing it off as the eccentricities of an Englishman, until something comes scratching at her door, hungering for her blood.
What started as a mere chance at becoming known swiftly becomes a tumultuous game of blood, teeth, survival, love, and salvation - and Jane must prepare to sharpen teeth of her own if she's to survive the horrors of the Wolf's Run marshes.

surprise surprise, another WIP inspired by Jojo's need to turn every DILF she falls in love with into a love interest in a monster romance-adjacent book! 🥰 This one's victim??? Ciaran Hinds as a brooding but sweet capital 'r' Romantic were-beast/werewolf-ish creature. 😍 The vibes for this WIP are, like... 90s gothic period drama.... bluebeard meets 'mexican gothic' meets company of the wolves meets 'the death of jane lawrence'... and i've only known this WIP for 3 days and I'm already obsessed, help-

My top 10  most anticipated fights of the weekend (7/31/2024-8/5/2024). In no particular order. But also, bonus stuff cause there's more stuff going on I'm happy to see.
Tumblr media
Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov - Terence Crawford is arguably the best boxer on the planet. He went undisputed in 2 divisions. He absolutely picked apart and tore up an elite welterweight in Errol Spence. And now he’s got his eyes set on Canelo. But that means trying to bridge 3 weight classes. So he’s moving up to super welterweight, where he will challenge WBA champion Israil Madrimov. And while the Boots fight is the one boxing fans wanted to see, Crawford is a 36 year old moving up a weight class to fight a young undefeated world champion. Nothing to sneeze at. Madrimov is a more than capable world championship level boxer and there isn’t a ton of tape out there on him because he’s still relatively young in the game. The table is set for some magic.
Cory Sandhagen vs Umar Nurmagomedov - UFC on ABC 7 - First time we will see Cory Sandhagen in almost 11 months after he tore his tricep mid-fight against Rob Font. Crazy to see how quiet it’s been for Sandhagen, even with the injury. The constant flux of the 135lb division has had him lost in the narrative. With O’Malley becoming champ, his weird rematch with Chito, Yan finally getting the bounce back win, Figs moving up to 135lbs, Cejudo coming back, and now Merab finally getting his title fight, I feel like Sandhagen is an afterthought. But nothing will boost your career like putting an L on a Nurmagomedov. Umar has done his part of adding to his father and brother’s family legacy, winning 5 straight inside the UFC to stay a perfect 17-0. The interesting part of this one is Usman has a propensity to strike with his opponents, far more than his brother did while Cory has shown he is susceptible to a heavy, aggressive wrestling game. We’ll see how it shakes out but I’m super excited for this one.
Chito Vera vs Deiveson Figueiredo - UFC on ABC 7 - this one has stinker potential. I like Chito, but the man spends 95% of every fight just walking forward throwing nothing. He’s got huge potential for violence. He finished that otherwise one sided beating of O’Malley by hurting him with a bad knee to the body. But he will just let you circle if you want for 15-25 minutes. And I feel like that is a lot of what Figueiredo has built his game around at 135lbs.He’s not the huge powerhouse bulldozer anymore. He’s just a really fast, accurate puncher who can leap across distance. I can see this being a fight where rounds are decided by like a handful of exchanges. But still hyped as I like watching both fighters fight when they’re at their best.
Elves Brener vs Joel Alvarez - UFC on ABC 7 - Brenner is fun. Alvarez is fun. Alvarez is a 6’2 freak at 155lbs who likes to use his size to set up submissions (he’s won all 20 fights by stoppage, 17 by sub). Brener is a Chute Boxe fighter. Nuff said. Should be electric while it lasts. And I don’t expect it to last terribly long.
Dakota Ditcheva vs. Jena Bishop - PFL 7: 2024 Playoffs - I’m not sure if this fight will be competitive. Small sample size but Dakota Ditcheva really looks like the goods. But Jena Bishop is an elite jiu jitsu player and if you’re going to get exposed for your lack of grappling skills as a striker, she’s the type you lose to. Ditcheva is a fantastic striker who has shown some tremendous finishing ability against lesser competition. Jena Bishop will be the best fighter she has fought thus far and it’ll be interesting to see if the knowledge of her grappling skills causes Ditcheva to forego some of her tools to avoid possibly being taken down.
Taila Santos vs. Liz Carmouche - PFL 7: 2024 Playoffs - A weird fight. Feels like with a different bracket, this is the final. This has stinker potential too tbh. Carmouche is not historically a fun fighter and Santos is someone who is more known for giving Valentina Shevchenko a hard time rather than a fun fight. But the interesting thing for me is which version of each fighter shows up. Santos is so content to grapple, wrestle, etc with a lot of her competition and when forced into that type of fight, can prove to be incredibly difficult to handle. Carmouche is someone who theoretically will try to take her down and beat her up with elbows from inside the guard/half guard. But we’ve also seen instances of Carmouche getting an opponent who she will decide to strike with, because the idea of extended grappling sequences seem too much or too risky. I’m interested in that dynamic, even if it makes for a hard 15 minutes to watch
Andy Cruz vs Antonio Moran - It’s Andy Cruz. Of course I’m interested. The rush does not stop. Cruz has fought competition high above the benchmark for guys just starting out their careers. He’s fighting former world title challengers at the very start of his pro career. And working with Bootst team in Philly shows me he’s serious about become not only a world champion but a big player in the sport. He gets a spot on the undercard of Crawford-Madrimov. Matchroom is positioning him for big lightweight fights. And while Antonio Moran isn’t a world beater, he is a guy who is 30-6-1 and been a step up fight for fighters like Devin Haney, Arnold Barboza, and Jose Pedraza.
David Morrell vs Radivoje Kalajdzic - David Morrell was the scariest fighter at 168lbs. HUGE power out of both hands with some really crafty set-ups thanks to that Cuban amateur background of his. But with the politics of the division revolving around Canelo, he decided enough of that and has moved up to 175lbs is search of a big fight. Radivoje Kalajdzic is a fine 175lber in his own right. Not a world champion level but a fine first fight in the weight class with some pop himself. And considering how hard it was for David Benavidez when he made the jump against Oleksandr Gvozdyk, we’ll see how much of Morrell’s power really carries upwards.
Nabil Anane vs Felipe Lobo - I don’t know as much about Nabil Anane as I should but from what I have seen he is 6’7 fighting at 145lbs. A true Muay Thai Sebastian Fundora. And I’m here for it. Lobo is always a fun fight, win or lose. Nabil has won 3 straight in ONE and looked like a killer in the process. What’s not to love?
Dedduanglek vs Nakrab 2 - A rematch of a fight I remember really enjoying the first time around.
Honorable mention:
Caroline Dubois vs Maira Moneo - I had a secret 11th fight I wanted on here. Rare in recent weeks seeing as a lot of folks are taking off for the summer. Caroline Dubois is emerging as a true elite talent at lightweight. With Katie Taylor up at 140lbs, those LW titles are potentially floating in the ether. Dubois is looking to grab the interim WBC belt in a fight against a very game Maira Moneo. Haven’t seen much of Moneo but she has a win over an old but game Erica Farias. Can’t put this in the top ten because I don’t know Moneo like at all but I’m always excited to see Caroline Dubois.
Olympic Wrestling - Olympic Wrestling starts on Monday, August 5th. And to me, it’s by far the most fun combat sport at the games. You got so many fantastic wrestlers competing this year. Akhmed Tazhudinov, Stevan Micic, Rei Higuchi, Hassan Yazdani, Amir Zare, Geno Petriashvili, etc. Mijaín López is looking to become the first ever 5x Olympic gold medalist in Greco-Roman, cementing himself as the greatest Olympic wrestler of all time. Yui Susaki is looking to etch her name as the heir to Kaori Icho and Saori Yoshida and lead the Japanese Women’s Wrestling team into their next era of dominance. American Amit Elor is the future of the US Wrestling team and after capturing 8 gold medals at the world level in the last four years, she’s looking to add a gold medal. Speaking of Americans - Kyle Dake, Spencer Lee, Zain Retherford, Kennedy Blades, Aaron Brooks, Kyle Snyder, Mason Parris, Dominique Parrish, Helen Maroulis, Kayla Miracle, and more. It’s a great squad. They’ll definitely bring home some medals. Looking forward to it!
Feel free to show what has got you all excited this week in the world of combat sports.

Re-read Parsifal's Page recently, and a few fun things that stood out to me this time:
Piers was elven at the start of the book. Eleven. And his parents just. Sent him off! With a knight they'd just met! Like Trebuchet. Sir. I understand that he's on The Quest or whatever, but that is a baby.
Parsifal picking Kai up by the scruff of his neck as if he's an angry kitten. Somehow I always forget that this happens and yet it always cracks me up.
I love Piers but watching Parsifal have his sweet inquisitive nature sucked out of him hurts and it's an absolute crime that Piers instigated this.
The scene where Piers gets an axe for Parsifal and mocks the smith's work is ten times funnier when we remember how young he is. Middle aged man who has been at the forge all his life just got roasted and shown up by a child who probably barely comes up to his elbow. Classic.
Parsifal telling Piers, "I wouldn't have thought it of you," after Piers admits to having seen a faery. Like okay I get it but you didn't have to roast him like that.
Piers thinking that the faeries surrounding him and trying to entice him away only for his father to chase them off was a dream. He's probably been surrounded by magical craziness all his life and just. Pretends it's his imagination. Of course I'm sure it doesn't help that his mother's solution to him being sick as a child was apparently to get him blackout drunk. But I digress.
Connie trying to be a girl boss only to be immediately shut down because she is surrounded by people who have known her since the day she was born and remember her teenage horse girl phase.
On the topic of horses, Parsifal's deserves a raise. This man learned how to fight and how to talk polite but certainly not how to be nice to a horse and it shows. It's a wonder he hasn't killed the poor thing.
The fact that if Parsifal had found the castle before becoming a knight who wanted to do great deeds he would have been exactly the sort of person who would ask the question but he never would have found the castle if he didn't want to do great deeds but the country boy who lived in the woods was more likely to ask questions than the knight but the country boy wouldn't have found- you get the idea. Thinking about this cycle absolutely kills me.
Rumor has it that if you listen hard while reading the scene where Arthur forgets Parsifal's name and starts listing other versions of the name as he tries to remember, you can hear Gerald Morris chuckling to himself.
There are few things funnier than Piers going, "I'm going to learn how to be a good servant by watching Sir Gawain's squire," only to have Terence give Gawain the silent treatment, proceed to insult him nine ways to Sunday, then relax and smile and chat like nothing happened after Gawain gets a chance to explain.
Half of Malchance's army turning on him because one of Terence's old friends was there.
Piers being equally capable of identifying ladies in waiting by their clothing as he is at identifying good steel. We focus on how he's secretly like his dad, but it's also not just the speaking french that makes him like his mother. This boy is a mix of both his parents, and not always in the way he thinks.
I never realized how absolutely heartbreaking the scene with the lady who tries to seduce Gawain is. Like, it's funny on the first read, but someone being driven mad because they couldn't cope with their father's grief is so horrifying, actually.
Gawain just knowing that Terence needs to stay with Trevisant without any discussion needed.
Guingalet launching a horse thief 8ft in the air.
Literal children Piers and Ariel not understanding why on earth a man would want to get into a castle full of women.
The absolute wildness of Kai to just. Straight up propose as soon as he discovers that the woman he's in love with isn't in love with someone else. Good on him, honestly. He knew what he wanted and went for it. (Also the way their marriage proposal/acceptance sounds like a challenge is so cute, actually. Like, yes, you lay out those terms of agreement for this life long commitment. It's adorable.)
The absolute weight of Parsifal not trusting magic anymore after the paths he's wandered. The absolute gut wrenching scene that is Piers trying to cry as quietly as possible after Parsifal rejected his gift. I just. Ow. So much ow.
Loved that Connie didn't immediately run to Parsifal with open arms. They had a discussion. His leaving hurt her. But they forgave and made it better. Almost as good as the practical Kai/Connoire marriage proposal.
Trebuchet recognizing a suit of armor he made before even recognizing his own son. The most renowned armorer in faery land, ladies and gentlemen. He has one special interest and we love him for that.
Just the whole message of the book. Things that are given are better than things that are earned, better to be a great husband/blacksmith/woodcutter than to have your praises sung by strangers, ask questions rather than trying to look smart, etc... it all feeds into a general theme of humility that is so poignant and so beautiful, and also reflects one of the running themes of the entire series. That's why I love this book, and this series in general. They're comedic, but they also resonate so deeply that you could think about it for hours.

To die for
"You swore an oath."
"Aye."
"To die for me."
"Aye, that I did. But those vows said nothing about killing for you, as I recall. Nor standing idly by as you bloody your own hands."
Sir Terence stood as he always did; one hand upon the hilt of his sword, both feet planted between Prince Revlan and the door. In theory, he was protecting him from threats from outside. Today it felt like the reverse.
"Well, if it neglected to mention it at all, where's the problem? You're free to take a day off, and I'll deal with the terrible twins. You don't have to be involved at all."
"My oath was to the people too. To the throne." Sir Terence was unmoved, in either sense. "The princes are mine to protect, no more or less than you. For as long as I draw breath, they are not yours to kill."
"So what will you do?" Revlan had a blade of his own. They'd spent hours sparring, and knew each other's strengths and weakness as well. His guard was certainly stronger, although he lacked for creativity. "Are you going to restrain me?"
"I will certainly stand in your way. The princes should be informed, as well. I'll see that they have their warning."
"A betrayal, then. Did your much vaunted oath of service not mention standing by my side?"
"To protect you in face of imminent threat, and die for you if need be," Sir Terence recited, as if it was as fresh in his memory as it had been twenty years ago. Revlan wondered if he chanted it every morning in front of the mirror.
"But you'll throw me under the cart? If you tell the twins of my plans to take power, what do you think they'll do to me? Do you think betrayal is some light-hearted sin, for us both to commit at our leisure? You'll be signing my death warrant in preventing theirs. Only one of us can take the throne - or two, I'm not sure how they'll figure that one out. You have to choose."
"I intend to throw us both on their mercy. If they execute me for that, I will consider my oath fulfilled. I will die to spare you from the axe. But I will not live as you wield one in the executioner's place."
"Oh, but you know how I prefer the sword." Revlan drew it at that: a curved rapier, as sharp as the day it was made, as yet unblemished by bloodshed. Today, one way or another, he intended for it to have its first taste. "If you will not move willingly, I challenge you to a duel. Edged weapons. To the death."
"I have served as a guard for forty years, man and boy," Sir Terence protested, reluctantly drawing his own standard-issue longsword, the veteran and survivor of countless skirmishes. "I know you have your training, but you do not wish to challenge me on those deadly terms. I would beg you to reconsider. If our swords do meet, you have no chance of survival."
"That's fascinating to hear," Revlan said, seemingly unconcerned. "In fact, you sound an awful lot like an imminent threat - wouldn't you agree? I'm in dire need of some protection from all of that fearsome experience. If only I had a guard to take your blade in my place."
Sir Terence said nothing to that; perhaps reciting the oath again in his mind, searching for the catch. He didn't seem to find it.
"Those terms remain." Revlan stepped closer, but sheathed his blade and slipped around him to the door. "I'll leave you to fight amongst yourself."

Review of: Whiplash directed by Damien Chazelle
Whiplash is a film directed by Damien Chazelle. The movie is an exaggeration of Chazelle’s experiences in a competitive high school jazz band, telling the story of a 19 year-old boy with dreams of becoming a phenomenal jazz drummer like Buddy Rich. Watching the movie changed my perspective on jazz music, now making it seem more intense than I’ve ever thought it was. Like many other people, I thought that the jazz genre is a calming genre, and that it is one of the least violent music genres. However, seeing Andrew struggle to match his abusive teacher’s expectations made me realise otherwise.
The beginning of the movie lead me to think that I’ll be watching a drummer in an intense environment, but I didn’t expect that intense environment to be a jazz band. It was obvious to me how Andrew’s dreams and expectations were sugar-coated, and as soon as Terence Fletcher entered the scene, Andrew got a punch in the gut by the ugly truth: to progress and become a great artist, he’ll have to abandon so many important things. Even in the real world, people face such big challenges to achieve greatness, but paying an abnormally large price for that greatness. For instance, bodybuilders damage their muscles for their body to repair them, and they spend massive amounts of money for their diets, and they dedicate all their time to their profession. Even though musical struggle is not usually depicted to be physical, that is exactly what happens. I expected that Fletcher would be some kind of antagonist in the story, and I was right. Soon enough, things got brutally violent, with Fletcher throwing offensive insults and chairs at Andrew, and Andrew keeping quiet and accepting Fletcher’s behaviour as if it was the norm. It irritated me to no extent, watching Andrew taking the abuse with no complaint, and instead pushing himself to do better and improve his skills.
Throughout all of the movie I waited for Andrew to leave the band or for Fletcher to meet the fate he deserves: to be prosecuted for his violent methods of improving his students’ skills. Eventually, Andrew was kicked out of the band by Fletcher for playing badly because of some extreme injuries. I pitied Andrew for having his dismissal from the band be so public, and I knew that Fletcher thought kicking Andrew out of the band was the right decision. I disagreed with that choice to the point where I wanted Andrew to prove his worth once again, but seeing that getting kicked out of the band would be a huge disappointment to Andrew, I knew that Andrew would most probably quit drumming unless Fletcher himself asked him to come back. It saddened me how quickly Andrew’s dream died, but I was impressed by how the movie portrayed reality without making it seem like a tragic fairytale where the hero faces challenges bravely, falls down, then gets back up stronger.
I was extremely concerned by the end of the film, where Andrew literally drums his sweat tears and blood once again, going back to playing the drums after partially healing both physically and emotionally from the violent training he was put through before. Fletcher finally accepts Andrew and acknowledges high achievements, and is led to believe that his abusive methods work in making elite artists. What disgusts me about that is Fletcher is not completely wrong to believe that. If Fletcher wasn’t such a bully, Andrew wouldn’t push himself to do better, instead he’d be content with his initial musical skills, and he’d never get to fully achieve his dream of being as good as Buddy Rich. What made the ending more unsettling is the fact that Andrew’s story is common, if exaggerated. People in all professions are faced with a similar situation, a dream they want to achieve and a strict mentor who sometimes crosses the lines. Although it is obviously morally wrong, it is how great artists are born; beauty is pain and pain beauty, but shouldn’t there be a limit to that? How can society accept such behaviour as the norm, but fight against all other kinds of abuse? By the time Fletcher is satisfied with Andrew’s drumming, Andrew had paid a tremendous price for his greatness, and I was still confused as to why Fletcher couldn’t have improved his students’ abilities without abusing them. Is all greatness only truly achieved through pain and violence? And do Fletcher’s motives justify why he could get away with his actions?

Seven Sins Challenge: Which of your OCs fits pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony and sloth. Then pass it on...
Thank you, my lovely friend, @treason-and-plot for the ask. This was a tough one, but here I go...
Pride: Probably Juliette Shen, because after she broke up with Robin, it took her a while to forgive him and out of pride she hid from him that she was having his baby, although she later admitted that was a mistake. Robin was also a bit prideful at that time, but also apologized afterwards.
Greed: If there is someone greedy in my game that would be Terence Cho, he can never get enough, maybe that's why he married Cynthia, a rich heiress, who is also a thief, lol.
Wrath: Beautiful Kelly Randall, no doubt. She's as pretty as she's grumpy, luckily her wrath doesn't last long thanks to her beloved Dale. ;)
Envy: I don't recall any envious people among my sims. They are all happy with what they have so far. That might change soon, though.
Lust: All of the three Cho brothers, especially Dale. 😄 Tony Langerak from Island Paradise would also fit here. 😋
Gluttony: Practically all of my sims! Nothing they can't control, anyway. 😉
Sloth: I can't think of which of my sims might fit here, most if not all of them are hyperactive, lol.
Note: Some of these sims aren't really OCs, cause they were born in game, but their looks and personalities are by me, so I consider them all mine. 💖

Mullan has a vast body of work but is probably best known for his portrayal of Joe in the 1988 Ken Loach film ‘My Name is Joe’. For this work, he won the highly prized Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival.

A few years later, in 2011, the Sundance Film Festival awarded Mullan a World Dramatic Special Jury Prize for Breakout Performances for his role as Joseph in Paddy Considine’s Thriller/Drama ‧ ‘Tyrannosaur’ (2011) with Olivia Colman.
Tumblr media
Since then, Mullan has gone on to work with directors like Steven Spielberg (War Horse 2011 ‧ War/Adventure ) alongside Jeremy Irvine and with Alfonso Cuarón popped up as a totalitarian crank in Alfonso Cuarón’s Children of Men, goading the dispossessed into parading their “refugee face”. On Mullan suggestion, Cuarón swapped his character’s weapon of choice for something less obvious, but more threatening, and has become one of the most respected modern film and TV actors.

War Horse 2011 ‧ War/Adventure ‧ Film of the Year 2012
He has also made his name as a director, with acclaimed movies such as Neds, Orphans and The Magdalene Sisters.
Tumblr media
His other film credits include ‘Hercules’ 2014 ‧ Action/Fantasy alongside Dwayne Johnson as General Sitalces, Commander of the Thracian army. Lord Cotys's second-in-command right-hand man portrayed by the late John Hurt.
Sunset Song, 2015 ‧ Romance/Drama Terence Davies’s adaptation of Lewis Grassic Gibbons’s novel, stars Agyness Deyn as Chris, a Scottish farm worker who sees family trauma merge into global catastrophe as the First World War devastates her village.
youtube
Starring Peter Mullan, as Chris’s abusive dad. was filmed at various locations across Scotland in Aberdeenshire, including Fettercairn and the Glenmuick, Glen Tanar, Invercauld and Ballogie estates. Sunset Song is certainly a masterpiece of Scottish/ British literature and was voted Scotland's favourite book.
Scots Quair is actually three books, Sunset Song, Cloud Howe and Grey Granite, that tell the story of Chris Guthrie, a young woman in the North East of Scotland, moving from the hard, rural life of her adolescence to adulthood and marriage. A Scots Quair is one of the most important works of Scottish literature.
Tommy's Honour 2016 ‧ Sport/Romance is based on the powerfully moving true story (and novel of the same name by Kevin Cook) of the challenging relationship between “Old” Tom and “Young” Tommy Morris, the dynamic father-son team who ushered in the modern game of golf.
Tumblr media
Tommy's Honour 2016
Peter Mullan stared as Tom with Jack Lowden playing his son. The film was filmed in the Edinburgh city region including Peebles and Musselburgh golf course.
youtube
He also played Yaxley in ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’, parts 1 and 2. In TV, he’s played characters in ‘Westworld’, ‘Top Of The Lake’ and Netflix’s ‘Ozark’ as Jacob Snell. [Netflix]
In 2020 He was great in #Ozark portraying local crime lord Jacob Snell, The crime boss of Osage Beach until he died in season two of the Netflix hit.
Tumblr media
Ozark 2017 ‧ Drama ‧ 4 seasons
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (TV Series 2022– ) - Peter Mullan played Durin III king of the dwarves and builder of the great halls of Moria.
Tumblr media
Moria is introduced in Tolkien's novel The Hobbit and is a major scene of action in The Lord of the Rings. In the fictional world of J. R. R. Tolkien, Moria, also named Khazad-dûm, is an ancient subterranean complex in Middle-earth.
On the big and small screen, from sci-fi to action and comedy, there are plenty of Scots actors who have made a huge impact on the world of acting. Just take a look at the right place where you will find them in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Asks for a Fic Writer! 🔆
Tumblr really didn't want to show me this, the fiend, but I was tagged by @randomsquirrel (thank you!)
How many works do you have on ao3?
Oh only about 1,365 (6 if I remember to post another tonight)
2. What's your total ao3 wordcount?
2,676,845 I am very mentally well thank you for asking
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Whatever ones the brainworms are currently wiggling in. So currently it's ffxiv and ffxvi and a little dash of sso
4. what are your top five fics by kudos?
Breakfast NSFW Stranger Things steddie. Which is actually the sequel to the second most kudosed one but I guess we're all sluts for domesticity.
Monster in the Bed more NSFW Stranger Things steddie. The lines of kudos emails I got from those two were fantastic.
Sunny-weather Snuggles and now for something COMPLETELY different, SFW mlp appledash. I used to have this little tradition, I suppose, of starting a new '30 day otp challenge' for every ship I liked. Don't think I ever finished one though.
Garden Party which is another SFW mlp fic but this time rarijack (I love their dynamic).
Odd Tattoo NSFW wtnv cecilos, god knows why I gave it the mature rating. I actually had this on ff.net initially, it's THAT old. But wtnv is just that popular I guess (for good reason! Night Vale my beloved).
5. do you respond to comments?
I do now after sitting there making flustered noises for a good ten minutes.
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Funny thing about me, I never remember my fics. Ever. Legit I surprised myself one day discovering a stash of estimeric fics that I just. Don't remember writing. I feel like there was one though. It could be Frozen Wasteland SFW ffxiv which is about the bloody banquet at the end of arr which. Yeah. The saddest part is that I never went anywhere with it because then I started sb and met Lyse and um. Yeah.
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Starlight Kittens sfw ffxiv Lyseka I think. There are probably happier endings but that's the one that immediately springs to mind.
8. do you get hate on fics?
Sometimes there are weird 'this is so cringe wtf' comments but hey it's not my fault if they don't embrace the cringe.
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
I was called sin mother for a time for a REASON okay. All kinds, vanilla, kink, monster, you name it. Very much into a/b/o and monsterfucking but I keep overthinking it and that kills the mood so fast.
10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?
[hides the ffxiv/ffxvi one under the bed] I mean yeah. Craziest one was probablyyyyy the Gotham x SSO one. I can't remember what happened but I remember the crossover.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge but it's not like I go looking. Wouldn't surprise me if someone had stolen an sso one though, some of those kids man...
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
Again not to my knowledge but I also know that ffxvi is very popular in other languages so honestly I'm waiting for it.
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
I swear to god I have but I can't find it (unless Jack posted it??? It was years ago though) but I suppose the Wild West AU also counts? Green-eyed Drake's Revenge was the last one (god I miss that era so fucking much I met some of the best people but also the worst but I just really loved being a part of such a big project).
14. what's your all-time favourite ship?
The answer probably would've been easier before I played ffxvi but uhhhh yeah it's Terence/Dion from FFXVI. Which you wouldn't know from my fics for that fandom (I keep getting distracted by other ships) but like. Canon gays. Hello. How can I resist. Ship that makes me go 'eeee' and then think about for a while after I see it.
15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Haha what unfinished WIPs I don't have those scattered everywhere. I would like to actually finish Frozen Wasteland (linked above) someday but there's also a phoenixflareknight fic that I'm slowly pecking away at but it has no real plot or anything so I don't think I'll finish that. And the aforementioned ffxiv/ffxvi crossover.
16. what are your writing strengths?
Making anything look good, baby. Or so I've been told. Sheer determination? Dialogue maybe?
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
"And where is all of this action taking place?" Shrug emoji. Descriptions.
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I think it's fine as long as there's a translation somewhere.
19. first fandom you wrote for?
Sonic. I don't think I published any of them though. It's probably better that way.
20. favourite fic you've written?
There are a few that spring to mind but I associate them with an ex-friend so ew but Lost and Found is the ffxiv/ffxvi crossover fic I do have published where I put my character and her sister and the arr-era Scions into the world of ffxvi. I love it and wish it got more attention but maybe the time's just not right yet, idk.
I tag @tiredassmage @trusted-friend-ffxiv and @sso-eden-dawnvalley

🕯️
‘Prince Dion is… well, amazing! We’ve been training for roughly the same amount of time but… he feels leagues ahead. Sure, he’s got Bahamut, but being a Dominant doesn’t just magically grant you the ability to excel in combat. Not only that, but he’s extremely dependable, honorable, courageous.’
‘He’s the Crown Prince. Nobility. But he seems more down to earth than other highborn nobles. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that he’s the Crown Prince. Or, well, it is on the battlefield, at least. He’s not someone I’d want to be enemies with. I’d love to spar with him one day, though. The combat experience alone would help me improve immensely. Definitely can't tell him I've forgotten he was the Crown Prince before, though...'
‘Thinking of Bahamut… I really wish priming didn’t hurt Prince Dion so much. N-not because I’d really like to have a go at Bahamut or anything… aha… but in all seriousness, the crystals curse is what’s most concerning. Especially with how often the prince is priming… I wonder if Prince Dion would scold me for challenging the Emperor to a duel… the old guy deserves to be knocked down a peg or two. Our prince deserves better, old man!’
‘Would it be too inappropriate to ask Prince Dion for relationship advice? Never thought I’d be interested in romance but… well, the prince and Sir Terence make me curious… on second thought, better not. That’d be weird.’
