my friends were talking about the idea of fandom weather reports

the thing about shanks is that he prioritizes other peoples’ desires over his own. to an unhealthy extent. like, to the extent that he may have sacrificed his own dreams in order to fulfill a final request from his captain.

so, if luffy says the next time he sees shanks, he’s going to be the captain of his own crew, and a crew much better than shanks’ at that? shanks will do whatever he can to make that happen, even if all he can do is delay their next meeting.

if oden says he doesn’t want shanks involved in saving wano, shanks will stay uninvolved. once wano’s been saved, though, he’s free to interfere—if just to keep the navy from interfering.

if buggy leaves, saying they’ll be enemies the next time they see each other… well, probably best not to see each other, then, if shanks doesn’t want to treat buggy as an enemy.

i think it’s pretty clear shanks doesn’t want to do any of this. he wants to see luffy, he wants to see buggy, he wants to help wano and see momo and hiyori… but what he wants doesn’t matter to him.

one of my favourite character relationship dynamics, platonic romantic or anything, is when two characters are absolutely the bestest of best friends and when one is hurt or something the other will scream and cry and wail and explode and when the other is in danger then the first one will go on some kind of silent terminator-esque rampage about it. besties (do no separate)

#i havent watched more than season 3 of x files but i rewatched season 2 recently #and that entire season along with the first half of season 3 (where i am now LOL) have been entirely this #literally like. mulders the screaming crying throwing up type and scullys the terminator one #its awesome #another far less obvious and possibly less intentional example but recently ive been reading some villainess manwha called #a villainess no more and like. the romance is kinda sweet and gentle and cute and all but like #i kind of really loved in the early parts where they kinda just became besties at first sight #like bro......they are BEST FRIENDS #rn in the story ive gotten to the point where theyre best friends And lovers which is sweet #its interesting though normally im a huge sap who loves romance in like everything but like...i kinda preferred them just as besties?#not something that happens to me often (nothing wrong with purely platonic relationships im just a romantic dweeb)#(theres exceptions of course. speaking of scully and mulder i like them best not as romantic or platonic but a secret third thing)#(theyre relationship is: scully and mulder. you know. thats their relationship status)#but this is a case where i really loved the platonic married besties dynamic a LOT #are there any comics or something about two besties being married platonically. maybe im craving something i never knew i craved #besties wedding. besties wedding #but i guess its no surpirse that i love besties dynamics if you remember all my complaints about certain routes in certain sengoku era otog #i think shingens route should have had more goofing around. i think mc and shingen should have become besties before romance #sometimes i cant buy romance unless they become best friends first. become BUDDIES before u put a ring on it #if that makes sense. who knows what im talking about. hold your besties real close tonight.....for me #(a transparent version of me smiling is overlayed over the night sky before i fade away into stardust)

I sent so many emails today

#like 5? were to clients and 4 were to foreign attorneys and like 12 were to partners lol #sending emails to clients and FAs is always nerve wracking tho #but the partners will usually review my draft email to clients before i send it #but for FAs not so much esp if it's just a status check #but today i had to email an FA to request examination of the client's patents in Canada #and i had asked the partner if there was anything i had to do before requesting examination bc i noticed for some in the past #we had amended claims and he was like well method of treatment claims aren't allowed anywhere but the US #and we went thru it and i understood bc i mean its not difficult and then he was like “i have confidence that you understand at a high level #what to look for when telling them to cancel certain claims so go ahead and email a request for all of these and dw about #getting me to sign off but also feel free to call if you do have qs or want me to review what you wrote.“#so i sent emails to the FA requesting exam of specific claims and terminating method claims without anyone looking it over beforehand #and oh man i was nervous but i sent the emails and the partner didn't call me to tell me i fucked up so 😭#honestly its a compliment that he even said he had confidence in me lol this guy doesnt usually have faith in anyone ☠️#posts

it really is funny though how quick alien conspiracy theories and new age stuff start delving into race science though. i guess its the tendency for people who believe in made up social structures to also really want some kind of magical thing that proves their specialness to everyone else. like even if they dont believe in aliens being progenitors of the white race or whatever theyll find some other thing like “aliens are racist and only like white people bc theyre smarter” or some shit. its like a whole Thing
