Do you think there’s w reason shanks doesn’t want to met luffy or does he actually believe in that stupid promise from years ago 😭 And why is he always so melancholic
Tumblr media
the thing about shanks is that he prioritizes other peoples’ desires over his own. to an unhealthy extent. like, to the extent that he may have sacrificed his own dreams in order to fulfill a final request from his captain.
so, if luffy says the next time he sees shanks, he’s going to be the captain of his own crew, and a crew much better than shanks’ at that? shanks will do whatever he can to make that happen, even if all he can do is delay their next meeting.
if oden says he doesn’t want shanks involved in saving wano, shanks will stay uninvolved. once wano’s been saved, though, he’s free to interfere—if just to keep the navy from interfering.
if buggy leaves, saying they’ll be enemies the next time they see each other… well, probably best not to see each other, then, if shanks doesn’t want to treat buggy as an enemy.
i think it’s pretty clear shanks doesn’t want to do any of this. he wants to see luffy, he wants to see buggy, he wants to help wano and see momo and hiyori… but what he wants doesn’t matter to him.
#asked and answered#one piece#shanks#—shanks hides his feelings#—shanks has a savior complex#as to why he’s so melancholic… just look at his life man#you were found in a treasure chest. no idea why. but that’s ok! you were raised by the greatest pirate crew there ever was!#then your captain becomes terminally ill. you spend four crazy years fulfilling his wish to see the last island & having adventures!#but your friend gets sick and you don’t get to see that island. and your captain has something to say to you after that makes you cry.#then the crew disbands. it’s just you and your friend now. and then your captain is arrested.#and then your captain is executed. you see it happen. and on the same day your friend tells you you’re enemies and he leaves you.#your life isn’t over—you make other friends; you form another crew. but the only time you hear about your old crew it’s lies or executions.#you adopt a kid—you can’t *not* after finding her in a treasure chest—and you find her a friend. and he gives you hope for the future.#then you fuck up and she’s gone. she hates you. and that kid’s on his own path. you get to hear about it but you don’t get to be part of it#(you’re the destination so you don’t get to be part of the journey)#and all the while the wg’s getting more oppressive & people you love are dying & all you can do is hold the line. maintain the status quo.#because you’re not the one who can change things. you’re waiting for him to come find you. that’s all you can do: wait.#i’d be pretty sad too ijs

Bad Decisions (Sanji x f Reader)
Summary: Your hunger and your impulsivity both get the best of you and you end up in a compromising position. You ask Sanji for help, but it might be even more important to him than it is to you.
Pairing: Sanji x afab!reader
WC: 3500+ oops
TWs: vaginal sex, pet names, oral sex, fingering, crying, begging, virginity loss, it's porn with a brief plot idk man
You were starving. You and the crew had just finished a rough fight on a random island and brought back several chests and bags of treasure back to the ship. For over an hour after your return, you sat on the wooden floor of the deck with Nami going through bags full of gold, silver, and rare jewels.
“Once we find somewhere to turn all this into berries we can buy the CUTEST new outfits!” Nami shouted with her back to you, head buried in a treasure chest.
“Nami your closet can barely close and you still have stuff with the tags on it, what the hell do you need new clothes for?” You quipped back while rummaging through a burlap sack.
“I’m a pirate, I can do whatever I want y/n.”
You rolled your eyes and continued going through the bag. Your hand felt something… fleshy? Like the soft, tender skin of a banana. You grabbed it and pulled it out to see a strange pink, oblong fruit. Your immediate thought was that this was a devil fruit, but it didn’t bear the signature swirled texture.
“Nami... come look at this…”
A door was suddenly flung open from the galley.
“Hello my beautiful girls! I’ve prepared you an aperitif to keep you satiated before dinner is ready! My sweet y/n here-“
Sanji stopped in his tracks after his sudden intrusion.
“Where the hell did you get that? Put it down!” Sanji swiftly placed the tray he was carrying on a barrel and snatched the strange produce out of your hand.
You were confused as to why Sanji suddenly looked so concerned.
“Sanji what the fuck is your problem? I found that fair and square!” You snapped at him, your piracy-addled brain wanting to keep it for yourself since it was clearly of value at this point. He held it behind his back as you approached him.
“Mon amour you don’t understand, this is a very dangerous berry and should not be consumed under any circumstance.” Sanji stepped forward, eyes dark with concern.
“Ok weirdo keep your purple banana, I’m here for the diamonds.” Nami said as she carried several of the bags downstairs on the Sunny to the storeroom, leaving you and Sanji in a stalemate on the deck.
“I’m putting this away.” he said as he walked back into the galley. You followed him quickly, not even letting the door close behind him before threw it open behind you and snipped at him.
“Ok give it up cook, what’s your deal with this thing? Why is it dangerous? It’s not a devil fruit, right?”
“You don’t understand. These are very rare fruits that are native to the South Blue. I’ve only heard tales from patrons at the Baratie of what this can do to you. It’s the worlds most powerful aphrodisiac.” Sanji’s hands were shaking as he placed the fruit on the kitchen island.
You snorted trying to keep your laughter in but it fought its way to the front. “Hahaha oh stop it! Those are old wives tales, Sanji. If it’s not a devil fruit, it’s harmless. You’re afraid of it, why? Afraid that it will make you what? Too horny? Come on, be serious!”
“I’m as serious as a heart attack, love. You have NO idea what this can do to someone. And there’s only one way to reverse the affects.” He met your gaze with his last sentence. You expected him to wink or pull something perverted, but his blue eyes showed nothing but worry. You sighed and backed off, realizing that the fruit probably wasn’t worth any money. You returned to the deck and going through the bags Nami left behind.
—-
After another half hour of treasure picking, you heard the growl of your stomach and was painfully reminded of how hungry you were. You silently cursed the curly-browed chef that dinner was taking so long. You made your way to the galley to see how the cooking process was going.
You walked in to find an empty kitchen. Sanji was probably out having a cigarette. He stopped smoking in the kitchen as much after Robin found a pile of ash in her scrambled eggs one morning. Sanji felt so bad that he cried and groveled for three days.
You remembered where Sanji stashed that fruit in the ice box.
Curiously you lifted the lid of the ice box and grabbed the strange berry. As you rolled it in your hand inspecting it, your stomach panged again. Long term thinking had NEVER been your strong suit, hence why you ended up on a dangerous pirate crew with little experience at sea.
Impulsively, you popped the fruit in your mouth.
And god, fuck, it was the most magical taste you’ve ever experienced. It was like dark chocolate, raspberries, lavender, all the most tender, delicate flavors rolled into one. You audibly groaned as you tongued it around your mouth. You didn’t want the experience to end but you had to swallow. Right as the fruit hit your stomach the door to the deck opened and there was your blonde lovecook. He looked at you, then at the empty fruit stem in your hand.
“Tell me you didn’t…” he stood there, mouth agape.
“So what if I did? I was hungry and you’re dragging ass with dinner. Those stories aren’t even real, I’ll be fine.” You confidently strode towards him trying to move around his tall, slender frame when he grabbed the sides of your arms and forced you to look at him.
“ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW DANGEROUS THIS IS?”
“Get off me!” You were young but you were strong and you shook off his grasp with ease. “I’ll be fine. Stop worrying about me. I can handle myself.” And you ducked past him and walked out onto the deck and back down to your room. You would be fine, right? He had no evidence other than stories from dirty old men on the Baratie. You spent awhile in your room reading before the crew was called for dinner. It was a beautiful spread. Luffy was dominating the serving platters while you sat next to Robin and joked about something gross Franky had done earlier in the day with a large bottle of cola.
Halfway through the meal you started to feel warm. You ignored it, blaming the summer heat. But the warmth grew, spread to your cheeks and deep in your tummy. Your skin felt like you had a fresh sunburn. Robin rubbed your arm accidentally while laughing at a joke and you jolted forward, your skin being so sensitive and hot.
“Are you okay y/n?” Robin asked looking into your eyes, visibly concerned.
“I’m fine I think… I think I’m just tired… maybe I need to go to bed.”
You looked across the wooden dining table and Sanji was staring directly at you. He had clearly been watching you the whole time, eyes filled with concern for your physical state. You ignored his glare and excused yourself back down to your room. This feeling was unlike anything you’ve ever felt in your life. It was like static electricity going straight through your veins. You went straight to the bathroom and splashed cold water on your face repeatedly. After a big sigh you buried your face in a towel. Looking up into the mirror you notice something. Your nipples were completely erect.
You couldn’t possibly believe that this fruit did what Sanji said it did… but you realized you were growing increasingly wet between your legs.
“You’re kidding…” You audibly curse to yourself.
You went back to your bed and grabbed your book to start reading and calm yourself down. You stared at the pages, your brain unable to focus on any of the words, only able to focus on the electric feeling in your body.
Your body was no longer just hot, it was BURNING. You were wearing a large grey t shirt and light pink panties. You look down and see that you’ve soaked them completely through. Frustrated, you throw your book on the table and lay fully on your back. You want to resolve the issue quickly without problems so you reach your hand down into your underwear and start to circle your clit with your right hand.
It wasn’t enough.
You insert your pointer and middle finger inside of yourself the way you always do when you need to release. It wasn’t working. You were hurting. It simply wasn’t enough. You kept trying. You were panting and sweating, your hair plastered to your forehead and grunting in frustration as you struggled to reach a peak. Your skin was so sensitive but you simply couldn’t get there. You were starting to feel sick…. The hot, sweating feeling becoming too much for your brain. An idea suddenly hit you-
“There’s only one way to reverse the effects.” Sanji. He knew. He knew how to fix this. You sprinted out of bed, still in a t shirt and panties and grabbed your baby den den mushi and called the Sunny’s landline, knowing it was in the kitchen and Sanji would be there washing dishes. It rang. You waited. Sweat beads dripping down your forehead, pain radiating through your lower half, you kept waiting for a response.
“Y/n? Mon amour? Are you okay?” Sanji’s concerned, deep voice came through on the line.
“No I’m not. You were right I was wrong, okay? I need you to get down here now.”
He breathed heavily on the other end, having an idea as to what you were going through. He didn't respond.
“Sanji. You told me you knew how to fix this. Please…” your voice was trembling and broken.
As soon as he heard the desperation in your begging he knew it was serious. He had an obligation to his crew mate.
“I’ll be there right now.” And he hung up.
Barely a few moments later you heard rapid knocks on your door and the knob turning. Sanji was fully unprepared for the sight he saw when he entered your room.
There you were. Laid out on your bed, but thighs clamped together so desperately trying to get any sort of friction on your aching clit. Sweat from your neck had stained your large, old t shirt. Your breathing was so heavy he could see your breasts rise and fall tiredly, clearly not wearing a bra.
“I told you not to do this…”
“Okay! I know! I get it! I should have listened to you! But right now Sanji I-… I need your help.. please…”
He had imagined it so many times… you spread out in bed, begging and pleading for him. Was he dreaming again? He fisted his cock late at night so often thinking about this exact situation. But as a gentleman he was hesitant. Would you be begging for him like this had you not ingested that fruit? Would it be right to touch you like this? You weren’t drunk, you weren’t on drugs, but is it right? His brain was going a thousand nautical miles a minute until you spoke again.
“Sanji…”
You looked at him as you sat up on your elbows. You let your legs fall apart as far as they would go so he could see the massive soaked spot on your panties.
“Sanji please… it hurts so much…”
Hurts. You said it hurts. You were in pain. He could see the tears threatening to fall from your lashes. He has never seen you like this a day in his life, even 2 years ago when you first joined the crew and you were new to piracy. He had seen you take blade slices and Chopper sewed them up with no anesthesia and you barely winced. He could barely imagine the pain and frustration that was causing you to have this reaction now. He vowed to never leave a woman in distress, and you certainly were.
“Let me go get Chopper, he will know what to do.”
“NO!” You shout at him. “Don’t you dare tell anyone on this ship what happened. You said you could help me and I need it.” You were pleading with him. He saw the look in your eyes. So much desperation. So much lust. How could he leave you writhing in all this pain?
Screw it.
Sanji quickly slips off his shirt jacket and it falls to the floor. He strides toward you loosening his tie. He sits down next to you on the bed. He was more than a little hesitant but he couldn’t resist anymore.
“I need you to understand... that if I help you with this… we won’t ever be the same… I need you to tell me that’s okay.”
You grabbed his hand. It was so soft and delicate in yours. Slender fingers slotting in between yours. You looked up into his all-blue eyes, you could see the worry. He looked at you like a porcelain doll that he might break if he takes it off the shelf to play with. But you could tell deep down, he wanted to play.
“It’s okay. I need your help Sanji. Please help me.” You breathed out, the feelings getting so much more intense. Your pussy was clenching around nothing after just feeling his hand in yours… your pulse was so high… You needed release soon or you thought you might have a heart attack.
“Fine. But if anything feels wrong you’ll tell me to stop, love, right?”
You nodded your head aggressively and lifted your torso off the bed and removed your shirt. Tossing it aside you then shimmied off your panties, leaving your body fully naked on the bed for him. He had never seen something so beautiful… pert, full breasts heaving on your chest, a sheen of sweat covering your skin. A puddle was forming on the sheets between your legs…. He knew this wasn’t normal. The wetness your pussy was experiencing was nothing human at this point, dripping far more than was normal for any biological person. It was clearly aching.
Sanji got to his knees at the base of the bed, fully taking his tie off now and undoing several buttons of his dress shirt. “Ok love, I’m going to fix all of this.”
He grabbed the backs of your knees and yanked your sweat covered body to the edge of the bed so that he was face to face with your hot, dripping sex.
“Merde…”
Sanji knew this was his dream. Sure the All Blue was number one but this was the best thing he’s ever seen or smelled. He leans forward towards your bare pussy to deeply inhale your scent. You cover your face, embarrassed at his lewd, perverted actions.
“Sanji please…” you were whining and writhing, waiting for him to touch you.
He firmly grabs your hip with one hand and holds you down while he spreads your lips with two fingers from the other hand. No longer able to resist your sopping cunt, he dives in immediately and latches onto your throbbing clit.
You scream out underneath his touch, your skin so painfully sensitive that it feels a thousand times more pleasurable with his mouth. You moan loudly as he laps and sucks at your most sensitive area. With the affects of the fruit and the pleasure Sanji is giving to you, your brain short circuits. You instinctively fist his blonde locks and pull him deeper into your cunt. You needed release and you needed it now.
Sanji was in Heaven, your sweet sounds and the taste of your rapturous pussy he could barely think straight. Things were going beyond well… especially for someone who has never done this before. Sanji has never touched a woman, let alone had sex. This was a show. He snuck some of Robin’s erotic novels months ago and tried to understand  how to please a woman should the opportunity arise. Sanji’s hands were shaking on your thighs, trying to make sure everything was perfect for you. He remembered reading that having fingers inside a woman feels good when done right. He inserts two fingers and crooks them upwards, pulling slightly while his lips were wrapped around your clit and you shouted out in pleasure.
“Sanji! Oh my god! That’s it, please! It’s perfect, right there! Don’t you dare stop, please!”
Hearing you simultaneously praise and beg him made his head swim. He never thought he’d be able to pleasure a woman like this. He ruts his crotch into the side of the bed as he slurps down all of your sinful juices, trying to suppress his own sexual desires.
You felt the tension and in your belly start to reach its peak and you aggressively grabbed Sanji’s head.
“Im… cumming!” You shrieked as you released all over his face. You laid back and heaved and felt relieved.. but only for a moment…
He pulled off of your cunt, goatee soaked in your release. He greedily licks his lips, smirk forming at the corners.
“My love… it was the best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life… and as someone with a refined palate, I simply can’t say what an honor it’s been.” He tries to compose himself and put his tie back into place as he stands up from the bed. You grab his wrist.
“Sanji… I need more… all of it… please…”
He couldn’t believe that he was hearing. Was this it? He needed you almost as bad as you needed him at this point.
“My darling… do you mean that?” He asks hesitantly
“Of course I do. It still hurts, Sanji. I can’t get rid of this unless I feel all of you inside of me… please…”
Sanji rips off his clothes at lightening speed, stumbling over his trousers in the process. Thick cock slapping his stomach as he pulls down his briefs. He climbs back onto the bed and hovers over you. Remembering the books he read, he grabs an extra pillow and shoves it under your ass, grabbing an experimental squeeze as he does it. You giggle.
“M-my love… I’ve… I’ve never done this before.”
You look up at him, shocked and bewildered. A virgin? Maybe it was because of the mysterious fruit’s effects, but this man had just given you the most earth shattering orgasm you’ve ever had. How can this really be his first time?
“Oh Sanji I’m sorry I just can’t help it, if you don’t want to-“ He cut you off with a sloppy, passionate kiss on your lips. It was messy, it was frantic, it was needy and so, so good. He pulls back panting and says to you,
“I want to. My love, I want to more than you know, please let me help you.”
You release a breath you didn’t know you were holding and reached up to cup his face with one hand and pull him into a kiss. With your other hand you reached down and guided his throbbing, virgin cock into yourself.
Sanji groans against your lips, you suck a breath in, finally feeling the fullness your body has been violently craving for what felt like an eternity. He leans back from your kiss, seemingly trying to catch his breath and compose himself. He knew it would be good, but the feeling was far more than he’d ever imagined. Your insides were so warm, so wet and open for him, fitting him inside you so perfectly like the last piece to a puzzle. He was broken out of his trance by a desperate whine from underneath him.
“Sanji… baby please… I need more, fuck me now please?” You bucked your hips upwards into him deeper, trying to fuck yourself on his cock desperately trying to fix the painful ache in your lower half.
He pulled out of you slowly, still hesitant as to what to do, this being the first time he’s ever made love to a woman, let alone someone he felt so passionately about. He leans forward and fully pushes his sensitive cock back inside of you and you let out a high pitched whine. He repeats his actions as he finds a comfortable rhythm.
“Oh Sanji thank you so much, thank you so much, it feels so good baby, just like that…” You punctuated his thrusts with explicit compliments and loud moans. Growing confident, he leans back and places his hands on the back of your thighs and pushes them up to your chest. He speeds up his hips and you feel his thick cock reach the perfect spot at this new angle.
“Sanji! There!” You were screaming at this point. Sanji had half a mind to cover your mouth, knowing every other person on the Sunny could hear you calling out his name in pleasure… but the other half? The thought of everyone knowing that HE was the one giving you such intense pleasure that you can’t help but shriek his name throughout the ship? That was the half that was winning.
You feel like you’re about to explode. It was right there, you could feel it. Tears begin streaming down your face as your love cook destroys your sloppy pussy with vigor.
“My love you’re so close, I can barely pull myself out… Please cum for me? Mon amour, I need to see it again. I need to feel you cum on me, please? You’re so beautiful when you cum, you’re perfect, darling, please?” Sanji was shamelessly begging you to release on his cock. He desperately drilled his hips into you, pushing your further up into a pretzel.
“Yes Sanji I’m right there, fuck baby I’m cumming, SHIT-“ you screamed. The orgasm ripped through your entire body, unlike you’ve ever felt. It was an almost painful, intense pleasure. Sanji continued to plow into you, so incredibly close to his own peak, trying to talk you through it but your ears were ringing.
“So perfect baby, such a perfect, gorgeous pussy. My perfect little pussy, so good for me…I love you so mu- oh my darling, I’m going to cum, please let me fill you!”
Your brain short circuited, so broken by your orgasm, body almost numb. “Yes of course, I want all of it Sanji please! I want your cum inside of me.”
And with that, he did. He moaned your name loudly as he slumps forward meeting your forehead with his. He lets your legs fall comfortably, but stays on top and inside of you. Nothing but heavy breathing and the sound of waves hitting the side of the ship could be heard. After a few minutes he pulls back and he looks into your eyes, seeing the relief, that you’re finally rid of your pain, he smiles. You smile back. You both start laughing.
“Sanji, thank you.” You finally breath out after catching the giggles, not even believing what just happened.
“It truly was my pleasure, darling. Just… just promise me you won’t do anything that stupid again?”
“After how incredible that was? I can make absolutely no promises.” You laugh. “Hey remember when you said you loved me?”
Sanji buried his face in your neck with a groan, clearly embarrassed and hiding his shame. It wasn’t a lie, he just knew you didn’t feel the same way. He didn’t know what to say, he wanted to throw himself into the ocean outside the window just to get away from confronting this. He pulled out of the crook of your neck to look at your face.
“Y/n I-“
“Shhh…” you press your finger to his kiss-bitten lips. “Stay here tonight. We can talk tomorrow.” You assure him while stroking his cheek. Sanji sighs in relief, kissing you gently and laying his head on the pillow next to yours. With nothing left to say you both drift off to sleep, limbs tangled together on your mattress. You can talk about this in the morning.

Caine x reader (that can get injured)
Warning: blood and gore and violence
On one of the challenges, you discovered that you could bleed and actually get hurt, hurt. You see, one of the times when Caine was throwing knives at Pomni he completely missed instead of, you know hitting her head, and it flew directly at you. You did dodge it, but not enough, it slightly sliced the side of your neck, it stung, so you touched it and looked at your hand and saw blood, so you covered it up and ran to your room to sort it out, while people asked if you were ok. So ever since, you have avoided those types of challenges and activities. You had also got a scar and you decided to hide it and didn't dare to tell anyone.
----------
After you had been here for a while, someone else had joined, Gunhead, he was skittish from the off, and he's slowly been getting worse, to the point you were getting worried, so you told everyone about it.
---
"If you're so worried about him, why don't you go check on him, while we start today's challenge!" Jax said sarcastically with a $?%! eating grin.
"That's a great idea" Caine added obliviously, you would argue and tell them they were stupid and say Jax was being an @$$hole with anyone else, but it was Caine so you didn't and went to check.
You walked down the hallways to check on this guy, while mumbling about hating Jax. You finally got to the door but........it was smashed open. You looked inside and the room was trashed, Jesus, what the hell happened in here? Suddenly you heard some buzzing glitching noise behind you, you turned around to see a massive black pixely mass of spikes with multiple eyes, you were horrified, you also assumed this was what they meant when they told you about this guy called Kaufmo abstracting. You moved out the way since one of its limbs had directly went where you once stood, and it tried again. It smashed a hole in the wall, you started to run but had wrapped one of its legs around your ankle and pulled you closer, cutting your ankle in the process. You shrieked in pain as blood dripped from your ankle.
As the group looked for the hidden treasure chest, they heard you scream.
"What was that?" Zooble asked as they looked around.
"That didn't sound good," Ragatha added.
"Eh it was probably nothing" Jax said nonchalantly...
As much as it hurt to do so, you pulled your leg from its grip. You successfully did that but this also led to more cuts and more blood loss.
You shakily got up and started running, ignoring the pain in your leg.
You heard it not far behind, and then it jabbed its limb towards you, dangerously skimming your side, and blood seeped through your clothes.
"Ack-" You fell to the floor with a thud, the thing that was once someone like you had grabbed your waist and lifted you up and then seconds later smashed you back on the ground, then the wall, the roof, the other wall three times, the floor again. It tried stabbing you again and you had to dodge it pathetically while rolling on the floor. You took a few more beatings and screamed some more, but nobody came. It was about to stab you until it got distracted by something and ran off. You lay there slumped against the wall with blood everywhere.
---------
After they had found the chest with disappointingly fake money inside Caine had appeared again.
"Well done! Great job my little superstars..." he trailed off noticing one of his favoured humans wasn't here.
"Urm...Where's (y/n)?" he looked around, and so did the group only just realising you weren't here.
"Oh! I guess they never came back," Ragatha said looking down in shame that she didn't realise sooner.
"Eh, I'm sure they're fine," Jax added not really caring.
"W-wait, didn't (Y-y/n) go to check on the new guy," Gangle sniffled as she looked up from her yet again broken mask. Caine sighed, took his hat off and Bubble came out.
"What's up, Caine?" They asked not really looking in any particular direction.
"Go tell (y/n) and Gunhead to hurry up and get here!" he instructed, to bubble.
"On it boss!" they shouted excitedly as they floated off.
---------
Bubble hovered around the hallways,
"(y/n)! Gunhead!" they turned another corner.
"(Yyyyyy/nnnnnn-" they stopped as they saw you, they zoomed over to you.
"Oh there you are, come on!" they nudged your unconscious body.
They looked at you,
"Wait a minute,"
---------
Caine waited as Bubble came back,
"Boss! Boss! Boss!" Bubble rushed up.
"Well, did you tell them?" Caine asked.
"Well...I didn't even find Gunhead," they said awkwardly
"Well did you at least tell (y/n)?" Caine asked exasperated.
"I couldn't," Bubble admitted.
"Why not?" Caine asked starting to get bored of the conversation.
"Well they wouldn't respond, and they were on the floor and covered in red stuff," Bubble rambled on.
The group looked at each other hoping it wasn't what they were thinking, even Jax. "what.....?" asked Caine before he zoomed off with them all failing miserably to follow behind him.
----------
When he finally found you he was horrified, he floated over to you, not knowing what to do, no one has ever bled in the amazing digital circus before, they normally just glitch and with a snap of his finger they were good again. That's it that's what he'll do he thought, he clicked his finger...nothing. The rest finally caught up, Ragatha covered her mouth, Jaxs' ears flopped down, Gangle started crying again, Kinger waited a few seconds and then screamed, Zooble squinted in disgust, and Pomni threw up. Caine grabbed your arm,
"What-",
and let go, it flopped to the ground,
"Wha..what, WHAT what!?",
he grabbed you and started shaking you, making more blood come out your side, he panicked.
"Right, stop stop stop!" Ragatha walked forward, Caine turned his head towards her looking crazed.
"I know this has never happened before but we need some medical equipment," Ragatha explained while also trying to calm down the very stressed ringmaster.
----After Ragatha stitched you up because she's good at sewing----
"There! All done, I should probably take them to their roo-" Ragatha was cut off as she was about to pick you up, until Caine scooped you up in a flash, hurrying down the corridor.
Jax then suddenly said
"Ooooooh that's what the screaming must have been" and then Zooble immediately started to strangle him.
-------
Caine whizzed through the halls until he found your room, he looked down at you in his arms, he's never really felt anything like this before. He finally opened the door and put you on your bed he stayed there for a while, maybe a little too long, everyone had already gone to their rooms and went to bed and got up again. He went before anyone noticed, and went on with the day, well if you can call it that.
-------when you finally wake up which was literally a week-------
After a week of him coming to check on you, he went in expecting to see you still lying down, but instead, he got a pleasant surprise, with you sitting at the bottom of the bed, back facing him.
He tried hugging you immediately, startling you and causing pain to shoot up your abdomen. He profusely apologized, and then bombarded you with questions, stuff like 'Are you ok?' and 'Why didn't you tell me?' he also started crying about it being his fault because he sent you there, but you reassured him it wasn't his fault, he also told you that he put the abstracted gunhead in the cellar.
And ever since that day, he has always been more protective of you, making sure nothing happened to you, and making sure you weren't doing anything too dangerous. You'd try to hide it when you hurt yourself because he always starts freaking out and puts you in your bed. you think it's sweet but it can get a bit annoying at times. You and him have started to spend more time together since that day, maybe something will happen between you two.

May I please have Bleach Headcanons or a scenario (up to you) of how Ichigo would react to discovering that the person responsible for stealing Ichigo's S/Os underwear turned out to be Kon (that was why Kon looked so happy recently with his 'prizes').
S/O who is a literal goddess and Ichigo's childhood friend and you know the rest about her including that Ichigo's family knew S/O for a long time because she is Ichigo's girlfriend and S/O knows that Ichigo is a soul reaper and she joins him on adventures and everything.S/O has reported to Ichigo something about her missing underwear and apparently they always seemed to disappear when Kon went made some unexpected visits to her home or something along those lines..and surprise surprise it turned out it was Kon who had been stealing Ichigo's S/Os underwear when Ichigo discovered his secret stash.
The request is not 18+ at all..it's just Kon being a pervert and Ichigo not being impressed by Kon's perverted actions of underwear theft..
Hello! Thank you for requesting!
I hope this is of your liking!
Thank you for being kind too!
Tsuki's note: I changed the request a bit, hope that's ok.
---------------------------------------------
• You realized you suddenly had lost a considerate amount of clothing.
• Not only from fighting - they do ruin clothes! But …. The quantity of underwear was also decreasing.
• Whenever you bought a new one, another one would be gone.
• You mentioned your clothes has been mysteriously disappearing to your boyfriend, Ichigo.
• He blinked at you as if you were talking about a nonsensical dream.
• You insisted your drawers were getting emptier and you had only one culprit in mind.
• Now you never said your underwear was missing - that's embarrassing. No matter how long you guys know each other, it's awfully embarrassing to say.
• So, you told Ichigo that the only culprit you could think of was Kon.
• The boy gave your idea a thought and he could not deny that it does fit the bill.
• But if that's the case where your clothes would be?
• The two of you began to search Ichigo's home.
• You divided the task: you were looking for on the first floor and Ichigo on the second floor - you did not like to open all the drawers from his sisters and father's room.
• When you were almost done on the first floor you heard screams and yells from above.
• Looks like he found the treasure.
• You went up the stairs very quickly.
• You found and heard Ichigo screaming and shouting how terribly perverted Kon is and you saw said stuffed animal running down the hall begging for mercy.
• He was running directly into you and jumped to try to reach your chest.
• Kon failed when you covered yourself with your wings, making him hit your feathers.
• He fell on the ground and that was enough for Ichigo to grab him by his head.
• That's when you found out the toy was keeping your underwear on a fake bottom of a drawer in Ichigo's room.
• How he managed it? So who knows. Maybe Ichigo stayed too long away from his room and Kon had enough time for it.
• You felt your face burn. You left your boyfriend to deal with the toy while you ran to the treasure box.
• You saw it, at least 15 of your articles of clothing there.
• You debated if you should keep them or just throw them all away and buy new ones.
• Ichigo got to the room again and it sure got very awkward.
• He cleared his throat, scratched the back of his head and offered a bag so you could take your clothes back.
• As you couldn't face him right now, he started stuttering how he didn't know about it and he did not look into it
• That made you giggle. You knew that, he was so confused when you told him about the missing clothing - and you never gave details.
• That made the mood less awkward.
• He laughed too.
• At the end of day, you decided to collect those and throw them away - literally away from you, on a different street you didn't even know existed.
• You would just buy new ones.
• He didn't ask what you did with those and you didn't feel like mentioning it.
• But Kon was grounded and had to stay with Urahara for a few months.
• Of course he was terrified, not because Urahara would hurt him, but because the man is a little…. Eccentric?

Ok but can I request the following?
Jason and Y/H making couple dolls about it, jason making a Y/N stuffed animal and them making a jason stuffed animal, as a nice couple activity and gift
Jason has always enjoyed doing things like this for you, enjoyed crafting you little toys or gifts, it's something he's amazing at, and that he enjoys doing, so why not do one of his favorite activities for his favorite person? Of course, he just wasn't expecting that one day you would like to return the favor right back to him.
It had been your suggestion, that as a little activity the two of you could make each other stuffed animals and exchange them as gifts, and of course, Jason accepted your proposal without hesitance. How could he not when you were offering up something so lovingly romantic? It made his nonexistent heart beat faster, and it wasn't long before he was prepping all of the materials the two of you would need to complete your task of crafting the stuffed animals together. That was how you'd found yourself here, both tinkering away at making your respective toys on either side of Jason's workshop. It had been your idea as well, to hide the toys while you crafted them, and Jason conceded, although he couldn't help but sneak glances at you over his shoulder from time to time as you worked so hard for him.
By the time you're finished with your respective toys, it's Jason that offers to go first, presenting you eagerly with a stuffed elephant, one made from your favorite colors, one that's absolutely adorable, and your joyful reaction strokes his ego enough to make him feel incredibly proud. When you pull out your own toy for him, a delightful little stuffed frog, it has his chest aching all over again as he delicately holds the little plushie you've put so much work into. The frog is made of red, and it has green eyes to match his own, and it makes him feel so incredibly special. He wraps you up into his arms, pulling you close and thanking you, pressing kisses to the top of your head as he holds you there, basking in the love that he feels for you. He treasures you, just as much as he'll treasure that little frog, as he'll be displayed proudly in Jason's workshop, so he can always glance up at it and think of you.

A/N 2 ▸ This story is like a lot of crossover with Jeongwoo’s story but I hope I was able to bring justice to Haruto’s character and bring his story to life. :P ok now enjoy for real realz.
You were the prettiest girl Haruto had ever known in his life. But to him, you were also his rival. You always managed to score just a few points higher than him on each exam, each quiz, each assignment. To him it always felt like the teachers liked you more, so he made sure your classmates liked him more. The thing that made him really mad was that you were so unbothered. You were ambivalent to him and you didn’t even know his name. If you really were strangers and never sat in the same class he could understand. But you had been in the same classes for years. Each time you spoke to him, you politely asked for his name. As if you were strangers.
When his parents told him that his family was going to move to another city, far enough that he would have to transfer schools, he had mixed feelings. This was his last chance to confront you. To understand why you’d never bothered to remember his name, but each time he approached you he found you furiously scribbling in a notebook. Although he resented you for not knowing his name, he could never get himself to disturb you when you looked so stressed scribbling whatever it was in your notebook.
What Haruto didn’t know is that you did notice him. You noticed the handsome, tall, skinny boy that was always in the corner of your line of sight. But you had no idea what to say to him. So you never approached him. He was a stranger.
Haruto wished he could forget you. He was a bit uncomfortable transferring to a new school at first but thankfully, three other boys had transferred with him. Asahi, Mashiho, and Yoshi had become literal brothers to him. The school also had a transfer students program and he made a new friend, Hanbyul. She was a chatterbox and sometimes she could literally chat his ear off, but she was also sweet and helpful. But she wasn’t you.
But that didn’t matter because Hanbyul had another guy on her mind all the time anyway. “You know we’ve just been friends for such a long time and lately, I’ve started to...I don’t know. I feel different. Nervous. Is it normal to feel nervous around your best friend?”
“I don’t know. Is it?” Haruto responded.
“No, I suppose it isn’t. But he probably doesn’t feel the same way. I doubt he’s ever even thought about me in that way.”
Haruto felt someone nudge him, he turned to see that it was Asahi. Haruto leaned over to hear what he was going to say. “Is she talking about Jaehyuk’s brother?”
Haruto nodded.
“Jaehyuk talks about his little brother and this chick all the time. She’s so off the mark. The little brother definitely has feelings for her if Jaehyuk is anywhere near the mark.” So both parties had feelings for one another but both parties were too chicken to say anything to each other. And for no good reason.
In a way that reminded Haruto of himself and it pissed him off. He knew that spending so much time with his new friend would raise suspicions but he didn’t care. He knew that spending so much time with her pissed Jeongwoo off. It didn’t take a genius to recognize it when they went to the Big Bang Concert together.
Haruto thought he was going crazy when he spotted you a few spaces over at the concert. He rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times to make sure it was really you. Haruto stormed over to you once he decided that it was in fact you. He had spent months thinking about what to say to you if he ever saw you again, he wasn’t going to miss this opportunity. Haruto didn’t even think to tell his new friends where he had gone.
You saw a tall, handsome figure approaching your direction. You took a second to check him out, but then turned back to the performers and continued to enjoy yourself. Your parents were reluctant to let you go out to this concert on your own but it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you wanted so badly. You smiled sadly at what might happen when you woke up tomorrow.
“I didn’t know you were a fan of Big Bang.” You heard a voice from behind speak into your ear. You jumped in surprise and turned around to see that it was the handsome stranger you saw sauntering your way earlier.
“Hi, what’s your name?” You asked with a polite smile on your face. This is probably exactly what your parents were worried about, creepy men that would try to approach you. You started to think about the best way to remove yourself from the situation safely. The now unamused expression on his face alarmed you.
“When are you gonna cut the shit. You know who I am.”
You looked at him puzzled. “I do? How? From where?”
Haruto felt something in his chest crack. “I used to go to school with you. You’re Y/N right?”
“Oh, yeah. That’s me.” You furiously racked your mind trying to remember what you had read but your memory came up blank. You couldn’t help but cringe and turn away. This is why you tried your best to keep to yourself and away from people. You looked up to see Haruto staring down at you with a curious expression. “I’m sorry I don’t remember you. You said you used to go to school with me? You don’t go to school with me anymore? Can I get your name again? I’m really sorry. I’ll try and remember.”
“My name is Haruto. I don’t go to school with you anymore. I transferred to a new school a few months ago.”
“Oh, I see.”
Haruto wasn’t sure how to feel when he realized you actually had zero recollection of him. For some reason seeing you up close and seeing you really trying to remember him made him feel a bit sympathetic. He couldn’t understand why. It still totally irked him that you didn’t know his name. But something told him to sit down with you and get to know you.
“Well, do you like your new school?” You asked, looking up at Haruto. Your heart was beating hard and fast. You prayed that your face wasn’t flushing.
“Why don’t we just enjoy the rest of the concert for now and we can grab a late night meal after the concert?” Haruto proposed. His own palms were sweaty and his heart was beating fast.
You thought about it for a second, then nodded and smiled. Haruto felt like the world had a glittery filter for a second. He’d always acknowledged that you were attractive, but up close smiling at him, you were drop dead gorgeous.
“Awesome.”
After the concert, the two of you walked side by side as you left the crowded venue. You noticed Haruto took a second to text someone on his phone. He caught you snooping and laughed as you turned away. “It’s fine. I was just letting the friends I came with know that I was gonna head out with you.”
“Oh, if you need to get back with them it’s fine.” You said, maybe hanging out with Haruto was a bad idea after all.
“Not a chance, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you. I’m honestly curious to know how you are and how things are back home.”
Your face flushed at his words. You couldn’t remember the last time you had spent time with a guy like this. Was this a date?
“Alright. Then what are you in the mood for?” You asked, pulling up a list of restaurants that were still open at this hour.
“What’s available now? What are you in the mood for right now?” Haruto looked over your shoulder at the menu as he asked.
“Um, what about McDonald’s? I’m not that picky and there’s not that much open right now.” you said.
Haruto stared at you with wide eyes, were you always this cool? So the two of you made your way to the closest McDonald’s and debated which was better, Coke or Sprite. To Haruto, Coca-Cola was non-negotiable.
“How is your new school?” You asked Haruto, munching on a few of your fries. “Do you like it?”
“What are you doing here?” Haruto interjected.
“What do you mean?”
“We’re not in Japan. This is far from home. Why are you in America?”
“Oh, I’m uh- I’m visiting family. I’ve actually transferred to a school around here for the time-being as well.” You jumped in surprise when Haruto shrieked.
“You’re here now? Like for good? Like you go to school here? Where?”
You giggled at the questions he rained down on you. The way he asked you with his cheeks full and eyes wide was rather endearing. “Yes I’m here now. I’m actually, uh, home schooled for the time being.”
“Oh, interesting. Why are you homeschooled? I remember you were always really good at school.” Haruto said before he shoved another chicken nugget into his mouth. The irritating thought that you were always better than him at school, just by a little popped up in his mind but he pushed it away. That didn’t matter anymore. He had your attention now.
You felt your face flush. Even with your condition it was true that you maintained your good grades. So Haruto must have actually known you back in Japan. You eyed him again, when he caught you staring at him you turned away. Haruto smirked.
“Enough about me. Tell me about your friends. You said you came with friends from your new school right?”
“Well I’d say one of them is actually who I’d consider a friend. The other one is a mutual friend. A childhood friend that has feelings for her.”
“Her?” it slipped out of your mouth. Haruto’s smirk reappeared and his eyebrow jumped up when he looked at you. You looked away, what was this funny feeling in your chest? It was weird.
“Our school had this transfer student program and she just happened to be assigned to me. She’s really cool, I’m not into her like that and she’s not really into me like that. She likes her friend.”
“How do you know?”
“She told me.”
“Oh. That feels like something important. Like a secret.”
“Well, I told her a secret as well.”
You stared at him. He didn’t indulge in the secret. Haruto was wholly focused on sipping the last of his Coca-Cola before putting it down on the table and letting out a sigh.
“Well so what’s going on with them now?” You asked.
“Hopefully, they both pull their heads out of their asses tonight. I gave them time alone so the best case scenario is that they just talk it out. The dude, Jeongwoo, I actually met him for the first time tonight and he’s a cool dude. It would be nice to have more dude friends around here.”
“You don’t have any guy friends?”
“I do. There are 3 other transfer students from Japan and they’re all dudes and I’m friends with them. Actually, Americans like to play this sport. Lacrosse? My friend told me to try out for the team and I think I might. Mashi, Asahi, and Yoshi agreed to try-out as well so it’ll be fun.”
You nodded, you had no idea what lacrosse was and you didn’t think you would be that interested to learn either. “I should get home.”
“Right of course.” Haruto said, getting up. “Where are you headed? Let me call you an Uber.”
“No, it’s okay. I can actually walk back home from here.”
“Oh really? Well, at least let me walk you back.”
You hesitated for a second. Would it be smart to show this guy where you lived? But then you shook it off, he seemed pretty harmless throughout the night and you trusted that he knew you from school in Japan. So you agreed.
“Do you have to be home-schooled?” Haruto asked.
“No, I don’t think so.” you answered.
“Would you be interested in attending school in person again?” Haruto could feel the devil on his shoulder kicking him. What was he doing? He had already gone to school with you before and the fact that you always did just a smidge better than him drove him nuts.
“Um, I haven’t really thought about it. Why?”
“You should consider transferring to my school?”
Your eyebrows shot up. “What?”
Haruto stepped back a bit and raised his hands. “It was just a suggestion. Honestly, I struggled a bit when I first came here. I can’t imagine how lonely it must be to be here and just be home-schooled so I figured it might be nice to have some sense of community.”
“Um, I’ll think about it.” You weren’t going to think about it. You looked up and breathed a sigh of relief when you saw the familiar apartment complex. “This is me. You don’t have to walk in with me. I’m gonna go now.”
“Wait.” Haruto said. You turned around to look at him, a thin smile on your face. “I, uh, I had fun.”
“Yeah, this was nice.” You said truthfully.
“We should do it again sometime.” Haruto said. You stared at him, he looked perfectly composed to you. But his heart was practically beating so hard he thought it might fall out of his chest.
“Honestly, I’m not so sure that’s a good idea.”
Haruto felt a heat and anger flare up in his chest. But he did his best to tamp it down and get it under control. This was literally the first time you had acknowledged his presence. He put a smile on his face. “Well, then maybe we’ll just run into each other again sometime.”
“Maybe, it’s all up to fate now. Good night Haruto.”
“Good night Y/N.”
The second you made it back into your room you pulled out your diary. You scribbled the notes you had logged into your phone throughout the day as quickly as possible. Briefly reliving each moment as you wrote them down. By the time you had gotten to the end of the list and began to recount the concert you could feel your eyelids getting heavier and heavier and your hands writing more and more frantically until suddenly, you crashed.
The next morning you woke up and read your notes. You squinted at the last thing you had written. Your handwriting became illegible near the end. ‘Haruto?’
The next morning Haruto woke up and smiled at the memory of you. Asahi and Mashiho eyed their roommate as he pranced around the living room and kitchen smiling and singing. But nothing could bring Haruto down. Well until he saw his friend looking depressed as hell.
“Dude what’s up?” Haruto asked. “Did you and Jeongwoo figure your shit out?”
“Uh, about that. Well, no.”
“No? What do you mean no?”
“Well what about you? Did you run into her?”
“Nuh uh, this isn’t about me. You literally had the perfect opportunity to make something of it. To make a moment! Did you guys have a moment?”
“Yes, I think we did. But I got scared. I don’t want to lose Jeongwoo as a friend, but at the same time I don’t think he has any feelings for me like that. I just, I think I need space. Maybe if I just distance myself from him a bit then I can get over my feelings and…”
“No offense, but that’s the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever heard in my life.”
“Well I don’t care if you think it’s stupid. This is my decision and my decision is that I don’t want to see Jeongwoo for awhile. Ok? I’m not ready for the conversation. So you better get used to seeing me more often!”
Haruto sighed as he watched his friend storm out of the room. He turned around and exchanged looks with Asahi. “Did I say something wrong?”
Asahi shrugged. “Honestly, I think you’re valid. I think her logic in avoiding Jeongwoo is pretty dumb. The dude’s in my gym class. Honestly, he’s chill. I don’t think he’d react badly to her if she confesses regardless of how he feels.”
“I should probably find her and apologize anyway.” Haruto said, exiting the room. Eventually he found his friend and they sat together in the cafeteria.
“Sorry about what I said earlier. I’ll admit it was kind of harsh. But honestly I can’t say I understand your logic at all.”
“It’s fine Haruto. You seemed extra happy when you walked in this morning. Who was the friend that you saw at the concert?”
“It was her. Y/N.”
“No way! Isn’t she in Japan?”
“That’s what I thought too. I was so shocked to see her.”
“What did you say to her? What did you guys talk about? Did she recognize you?”
“That’s the thing. The best part of it all was that I actually had her attention. You remember I told you about how she never acknowledged anybody right? She was always reading her notebook in the hallway. In the past when I spoke to her she never even knew my name! She had to ask me every single time. But this time, there’s no way she wouldn’t remember me!”
“Your relationship is weird. But I guess that’s sweet. What does she write about in her notebook?”
“I don’t know. Why does it matter? She knows my name now!”
“That’s another thing. You went to school together for years and she never remembered your name? Why?”
“I don’t know.” Haruto said. Now he was grouchy. All the questions that had been brought up to him were valid, but these weren’t things he wanted to think about.
A few weeks before the lacrosse tryouts in the spring Haruto went to the hospital to get a physical done.
Once he was done he stumbled into a small cafe right next to the hospital. When he saw who was manning the cash register he rubbed his eyes and looked away and looked back a few times to make sure he wasn’t being deluded. When he was confident that he wasn’t going crazy he stood up and walked over to the register.
You saw a tall, handsome, and skinny guy walk up to the cash register. You cleared your throat and stood up straight. “Hello, what can I get you?”
“Y/N! It’s fate. We ran into each other again!”
“Again?” You put a smile on your face and thought of a response. “Hey, it’s so good to see you! How have you been? What’ll you have?”
“Do you...remember my name?”
You felt your heart picking up speed and your palms beginning to sweat. But you kept your composure. “Of course, let me take your order and we can chat for a second.”
Haruto beamed. “Okay, then I’ll just have an Iced Americano.”
“Okay, that’ll be $3.30. The ice machine is in the back so I’ll be right out in a second. You rushed to the back of the cafe and pulled out your diary and flipped through the pages, reading the entries as quickly as possible. Out of the corner of your eye you noticed a torn piece of paper that had slipped out of your bag. You picked it up, it matched the paper in your diary. You flipped it over to see that it had a name written on it. Haruto.
Was that this guy’s name? Who was he to you? Darn it, why hadn’t you written more?
You quickly filled the cup with ice and walked out filling the cup with cold brew. You grabbed the marker and scribbled Haruto on it. You walked back over to the cash register. This guy’s eyes were practically glittering in anticipation. Was it normal for someone to get this excited over a coffee?
“I’ve got one iced americano for Haruto?” you said.
If his eyes were glittering before, they were practically flashing light strobe lights at a nightclub now. A matching beaming grin on his face. “Yes! Y/N it’s fate. We ran into each other again!”
“Right. Yeah, of course. What are the odds.”
“Do you have a minute?”
“Um, I’m working right now. I’d rather not get in trouble. Maybe another time?”
Haruto swiveled around, eying the cafe. “It looks pretty empty to me. I don’t think you’d get in trouble if you came out for a second just to keep me company.”
“Still…”
“Is your manager even here right now?”
“No.”
“Then come on. Just come out for a second.”
You looked around the cafe, cursing at how vacant it was. You tugged at your sleeves for a second before answering. “Fine.”
You followed Haruto out from behind the counter. He walked over to a table and pulled a seat out from underneath the table. He smiled as he waited for you to sit down. You walked over to the table and turned around. Haruto slid the chair underneath you as you moved to sit down. Once you were seated Haruto ran around to the other side of the table and sat down.
“How are you? How have you been?” Haruto asked.
You stared at the boy sitting in front of you. He was so handsome. “I’m doing well. How about you?”
“I’m good. I was in the area because I needed to go to the hospital.”
Your ears perked up. “Why were you at the hospital?”
“Why do you wanna know? Are you worried about me?”
You didn’t say anything. You just stared at Haruto. Haruto cleared his throat and looked away for a second. “I’m just playing with you. I went to get a physical.”
You nodded, tracing the patterns on the tablecloth.
“I needed one for lacrosse tryouts.”
“Lacrosse? What is that?” you asked. Haruto thought the way your nose scrunched in confusion was adorable.
“I told you about it last time! Remember? It’s this sport that Americans like to play. I had never heard of it in Japan either.”
You didn’t remember. “Right.”
Haruto couldn’t understand the dynamics of the conversation. He watched as you avoided eye contact with him and intensely focused on tracing the pattern of the table cloth. Then you would stare out the window of the cafe, it almost appeared as if your eyes were glazed over. “What are you always writing about in your notebook?”
Your head spun over to look at him so fast, you thought you might have gotten whiplash. “What?”
“Your notebook. I remember in school back in Japan I always saw you either writing things down in a notebook or reading the same notebook. What’s in it?”
“Um, nothing. Don’t worry about it.”
“Why? It can’t be that bad. I promise I won’t laugh no matter how embarrassing it might be.” Haruto said. Leaning forward over the table so that he was in your face.
“Forget it.” You said, leaning back and looking away. You glanced over at your bag that was perched far back behind the counter and breathed a sigh of relief. “Look. I gotta go. I’m supposed to be working right now. I think you should go now as well.”
You stood up from the table so quickly that the chair you were sitting on toppled over. You didn’t bother to turn around and pick it up. You walked back towards the counter without looking back.
Haruto watched you as you walked away. He narrowed his eyes when he saw you grab your bag and walk to the back of the cafe. There was only one thing on his mind as he walked out of the cafe. Your notebook. What was in the notebook?
You frantically flipped to today’s page in your notebook. In all caps with your boldest, darkest black marker you wrote at the top of your notebook. ‘Beware of Haruto. Tall, Handsome. Asked about notebook.’
Then you shut the notebook and exited the back room, breathing a sigh of relief when you noticed that the cafe was vacant once again. You walked over to the cafe table where you had previously sat and picked up the chair that had fallen over when you had left the conversation.
The next day at school Haruto was deep in thought. What could possibly be so important about a notebook? When Hanbyul shoved him, Haruto shrieked as he fell out of his chair. “Dude, what the hell is your problem?”
“What are you thinking about? You look like you’re thinking so hard that your brain might break.”
“Do you have an important notebook? Is that like something girls do?”
“You mean like a diary?”
Haruto snapped his fingers and looked up. “Yes! Exactly like one of those. Do you have one of those?”
“I did when I was younger. I don’t keep one anymore though. Why do you ask?”
“My friend. The one from home, Y/N? I think she has one. I asked her about it yesterday and she got all dodgy and weird.”
“Ah, well. Back when I did keep a diary it held all my dirtiest secrets. I don’t think I would want to share it with anybody or for anybody to know about it. Not even now, and as an elementary schooler I really don’t think I had any secrets worth keeping.”
“It was so weird. She got so defensive over it. I didn’t realize bringing it up would be such a touchy subject.”
Hanbyul shrugged. “Different things matter to different people. Are you ready for tryouts? They’re coming up soon aren’t they?”
Haruto nodded. “Asahi, Mashiho, Yoshi, and I have started going to that gym that you recommended. Lacrosse is actually pretty fun. Mashiho is the best though. Are you coming to tryouts?”
“Of course I am. I’m practically making you go so it’s only fair that I be there to see how you do. I reserve the right to totally make fun of you if you embarrass yourself though.”
Haruto rolled his eyes. “Yeah, whatever.”
Soon enough it was the first day of lacrosse tryouts. Haruto had frequented the cafe that you worked at in hopes of getting the chance to speak to you again. Unfortunately, what he didn’t know was that you had quit the job and diligently stayed home and studied.
Haruto was agitated at the thought of not being able to speak to you again. When he tried to sit down and rationalize it himself he couldn’t make sense of it. A year ago he despised you for not knowing his name. You know his name now, right? What more did he want from you?
“Haruto? Haruto! Hello? Are you even listening to me?”
Haruto turned to look at Hanbyul. “Honestly no, sorry. What’s up?”
“I feel bad for how I treated Jeongwoo. You were right, avoiding him was not the right thing to do. But why hasn’t he said anything to me?”
“Look I can’t tell you what’s going on between the two of you any better than you can. My assumption is that he’s a bit hurt and confused at the moment by how you’re acting and he doesn’t want to make things any worse than they are.”
“Can’t you say something to him?”
“Me?” Haruto looked up from his stick that he was re-taping. “What do you want me to say to him?”
“I don’t know. Just...just get him to react.”
Haruto scoffed. “If you want me to do that I can but again I feel like it’s not going to produce the results that you want. Like I think if I say anything things are gonna go really sour so I think you should think long and hard about this.”
“Haruto!”
“Look, I gotta go. Tryouts are starting.” Haruto said, turning away and walking onto the field. He didn’t miss the hard stare coming his way from Jeongwoo. Haruto ignored them and focused on his gameplay. Lacrosse had actually become really cathartic for him and he found that he really wanted to make the team.
Haruto noticed that the coaches seemed to be reacting favorably to how he was playing. He also realized that Jeongwoo was also really good but he played really aggressively, like he had something to lose. At the end of practice Haruto figured his hunches must have been correct because the coaches called him over to speak with him.
“I’m sure you know Varsity tryouts were this morning, all of your friends from Japan did great as did you and so we’re thinking about pulling you up to varsity. So tomorrow I want you to come early and try out with the varsity team, alright?”
Haruto beamed and nodded.
“Good work son.” The coach slapped Haruto on the shoulder. He did his best not to fall over. Thankfully the coach didn’t notice.
Haruto walked off the field and headed towards the school parking lot. Just as he pulled his phone out to call someone for a ride home his phone pinged, he tapped on the notification to see that it was a message from Mashiho.
Mashiho: Haruto have JV tryouts ended?
Haruto: Yes, I just finished
Mashiho: Cool. Have you found a ride home yet?
Haruto: No, do you know anyone who can come get me?
Mashiho: Ya, a lot of the guys on varsity can drive. Junkyu is over now but he offered to come pick you up.
Haruto: Junkyu?
Mashiho: He’s trying out for the varsity team. He’s cool. Kinda goofy but cool. I’ll come by with him.
Haruto: Alright, thanks dude.
Mashiho: Np.
Haruto checked the time on his phone before putting it back into his pocket. 6 P.M. Would you be at the cafe? The last few times he had gone by he hadn’t seen you. He put the thought away when a car appeared in front of him. The window rolled down and Mashiho cheered when he saw Haruto. “Get in the car! You smell!”
“Shut up and unlock the door Mashi.” The car door clicked open and Haruto hopped into the backseat. There was a large dude sitting in the driver’s seat who kept fidgeting with a bunch of random controls.
The guy turned around with a giant grin on his face. “Hello! I’m Junkyu. You must be Haruto! Nice to meet you!”
Haruto bowed. “Hello. Yes, I am Haruto. Nice to meet you as well.”
“Ruto! How were tryouts?”
“They were really good. Coach pulled me over at the end of tryouts and told me to come early tomorrow morning and try out with the varsity team.”
“Damn! You must be so good!” Junkyu said from the driver’s seat. Haruto tried not to be concerned by the way Junkyu was driving. His head kept swiveling from left to right. “Did you guys play sports back in Japan? All of you were insane at tryouts today!”
“We all played football. I think Mashi and Yoshi played basketball as well.”
“Football? Do you mean football football or soccer football?”
“Eh?”
“Do you kick a ball or do you carry a ball?”
“You kick it. Duh. Why would you carry a ball? That’s just dumb.”
“Americans call a totally different sport football. Don’t worry about it too much. But it’s awesome that you guys are so good.”
“Well to be fair, we were told about that Lacrosse Club and we had a few training sessions every week leading up to try outs.” Mashiho said.
“Ahh! How’d you hear about that? A few of us have been playing on their club teams for a while.”
“My friend told me about it. She’s the person responsible for me in the foreign exchange students program. Hanbyul?”
“Oh! I know who you’re talking about. Her brother was a legend at this school. He was a top recruit since his sophomore year here. But right before the most important game of his senior year he tested positive on a drug test and he couldn’t play. It totally turned him, his team, and the school around. He got dropped by the college that was recruiting him. But I heard he struck a deal with a pro-team and I guess he’s been training with them. The dude was in a league of his own.”
“Damn. That’s insane.”
“Yeah, our school takes lacrosse pretty seriously. The best players at our school get recruited to some of the best schools so it’s a great opportunity.”
Haruto knew there were probably more important things to be thinking about in this conversation but he couldn’t help but wonder if he could get you to come to one of his games.
The second day of tryouts Haruto was absolutely on fire. His shorts were shart, his passes were quick, and his steps were light. The varsity team was definitely of a different caliber but Haruto found the challenge fun. It was nice to be able to play with the rest of the Japanese boys as well.
At the end of varsity tryouts the coach pulled him over, “you were great out there today. How are you feeling?”
“I’m feeling alright coach.”
“Up for a few more hours?”
Haruto paused, but then nodded. He wasn’t in a place to argue with his coaches. “Sure.”
“Great. Then I want you to continue through JV tryouts. Grab some water and then head back out onto the field.”
“Alright coach.”
Haruto jogged out to the edge of the field. He was surprised to see Hanbyul sitting at the edge of the bleachers. “What’s up?”
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
“What do you mean what am I doing here? I came to watch your second day of tryouts.”
“Are you sure you’re here to watch me?”
“Shut up. Why are you all sweaty already?”
“Coach had me try out with the varsity team today.”
Hanbyul’s eyes widened. “Dang, you must be awesome. The last two boys that made it onto the varsity team as sophomores were my brother and his best friend Bobby.”
Haruto shrugged. “The game is fun. It would be awesome to play on varsity.”
The coach blew his whistle, signalling all the players to come back out onto the field. Haruto turned around and gathered around. Every so often throughout the day Haruto ran back to the bleachers where Hanbyul sat. His bag was stowed away there as was his secret stash of Coca-Cola. It probably wasn’t smart to be drinking Coke in the middle of tryouts but every so often he needed a pick-me-up.
“You need to quash that habit.”
“Yeah yeah.”
At the end of the day the coach told Haruto to wait for him inside his office. So Haruto did just that.
“So what’d you think about tryouts today?” Coach asked.
“It was intense.”
“Yeah, what did you think of the way the varsity team played?”
“They were quicker, sharper, and more nimble.”
“Good observation. Do you think you were good enough to play on their level?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, then answer me another question. If you had to pick another player from the JV tryouts today to pull up to Varsity who would you pick?”
Haruto thought about it for a second. The answer was obvious. The only other person who seemed to put up a fight with him was “Jeongwoo.”
“Good guess.” The coach laughed. “I don’t know what they feed you kids in Japan. But all four of you are good.”
There was a knock on the door. Haruto turned around to see Jeongwoo. He smirked when he saw the sour expression on Jeongwoo’s face. But it was gone once he had walked into the room and stood adjacent to Haruto.
“The two of you have demonstrated amazing capabilities and I am considering pulling one of you up to the varsity team. Take this opportunity seriously. Tomorrow is the last day of tryouts.”
The last place Haruto expected to run into you was at the hospital. The last thing you were expecting at the hospital was for a dude to come up behind you and scare you. It was horrible, you can’t remember the last time you screamed so loudly, let alone at a public place.
“What are you doing here Y/N?”
“Uh, I’m-” you hesitated, trying to craft an answer that was vague enough that you wouldn’t have to tell the whole truth but not vague enough that he wouldn’t continue to ask questions. But thankfully Haruto seemed to take it upon himself to fill the silence.
“Look, I just wanted to say I’m sorry that I totally misjudged you when I first met you? In fact, I thought I hated you.”
Alarm bells went off in your head. Was it normal for a person to come to you and tell you they hated you? “Uh, thanks?”
But Haruto continued. “But I wanted to say I totally read you wrong. You’re actually really cool. And I wanted to say thank you. For remembering my name.”
That was the first time someone had ever said that to you. You stared at him blankly unsure of how to respond.
“Haruto! Haruto! Haruto! Please report to waiting room 105, the doctor is ready for you now.” The voice over the loudspeaker belted.
“Well, that’s me.” Haruto said with a soft smile on his face. He got up and waved goodbye to you before heading to the back of the office.
Once he was safely out of sight you pulled out your notebook. Your face paled once you flipped through it a few times. You thought about what to do. What did this guy want? You wrote out all these questions in your notebook. Then you came to a conclusion of what to do and wrote that down in your notebook as well.
You ripped out a piece of paper from your notebook and scribbled your number on it. Then got up to the receptionist desk. “Hi, I don’t know if you’re allowed to do this. But when that guy Haruto comes out. Would you mind giving him this?”
You handed the sheet of paper over to her, the receptionist gave you a look and then a wink before accepting the sheet of paper. You figured that meant she accepted, so you waved goodbye and left the hospital.
“Excuse me sir!” The receptionist lady called out to Haruto as he was about to head out of the doctor’s office. What felt and looked like a nasty possible sprain on the lacrosse field just turned out to be a measly bruise.
Haruto approached the reception desk. “There was a young lady earlier. She asked me to give this to you before you leave.”
Haruto looked at the slip of paper. His eyes widened into the size of large gumballs when he realized what was on it. He felt like his heart would explode. But then his mind pumped the brakes, he wasn’t ungrateful, but why did you give him your number?
On the way back home you second guessed your decision at least 30 times. Why did you give him your number? The only reason you could think of was that you didn’t want to not know the guy. Contrary to what your mind and your diary told you. Your heart didn’t want to give him up. Maybe it was selfish and confusing, who knew? But who cared?
Haruto’s excitement was cut short when he finished punching your number into his contacts. Before he could even send a message to you, his phone rang. Hanbyul.
“Hey Hanbyul, what’s up?”
Haruto became alarmed when he heard a sniff and a muffled sob. “Haruto, I miss him.”
Haruto sighed. “He’ll come around soon.”
“Is there nothing you can do to make him come around sooner?”
“Hanbyul. If all goes well he’s going to be my teammate. Plus, what could I possibly say to change things?”
“I don’t know. He probably thinks there’s something going on between us.”
Haruto paused. “Is that why you’re friends with me?”
“No, no I swear it’s not. You’re an amazing person and you’ve been an amazing friend.”
“Hanbyul.”
“I know, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything. I’m sorry.”
“I don’t like what you’re asking me to do. But you are my friend. If you’re really sure this is the way you want to go about it.”
“I’m- I’m not sure. I just need things to change.”
On the third day of tryouts Haruto was in a funk. And it showed. The events of yesterday night haunted him, he was happy to see you but he was sorry for Hanbyul. Haruto didn’t really like to fight with anybody, but he found her requests unreasonable and the questions she asked about you probing and uncomfortable.
It seemed as if Jeongwoo was the same way. Haruto gave into the niggling voice inside his head and said probably he shouldn’t have said. “You’re gonna lose your girl to me and now you’re gonna lose your spot on the team to me?”
It pushed Jeongwoo off the edge and the two of them went at it. Haruto played ferociously and aggressively. As did Jeongwoo. The game ended when Jeongwoo illegally body checked Haruto.
“Dude what the hell is your problem?”
“No, what’s your problem? Your comment back there? Absolutely uncalled for.”
Valid. But Haruto wasn’t going to admit that. “Please. Pull your head out of your ass. You’re hurting your friend. Talk to her.”
Haruto stood by as he and Jeongwoo got scolded for their behavior. Eventually, tryouts ended with neither one ending up on the varsity team. Haruto knew he probably should have been more bothered but he wasn’t. He had other things on his mind.
When Haruto exited the office he saw Hanbyul waiting outside. She turned to look away from Jeongwoo back to Haruto. Tired and hopeful that their saga would end, Haruto smiled and jutted his chin out towards Jeongwoo. Hanbyul smiled and ran after Jeongwoo.
Since the fateful day you have Haruto your number. Whenever he had a free moment he would ask to see you. After each time you saw him, you thoroughly wrote down everything that had happened in the day. You didn’t want to forget.
A few Mondays ago, you went to get ice cream together. “What’s your favorite food, Haruto?”
“Me? Anything unhealthy.”
You whacked him on the arm for that.
“Ow! What was that for?”
“For being a stupid teenage boy. And because I’m jealous of your metabolism.”
A couple Thursdays ago, Haruto asked you if you wanted to go watch a movie with him. The Uber and the weather didn’t quite work out. “Sorry we missed the movie by 45 minutes. But on the bright side, it’s not raining anymore!”
You laughed. “I guess you’re right. What should we do instead now that we’re here?”
Haruto looked around. He pointed at the grassy meadow. “We should just lay down on the grass and look at the stars.”
“The grass is wet.”
“Look, they're selling plastic tarps over at that convenience store. Let’s just buy one.”
“Okay.”
Haruto paid for a plastic tarp and spread it down out on the grassy meadow. The two of you laid on the ground parallel to one another. Until Haruto turned to you “can I hold you?”
You felt your face flush and you looked away. You hesitated for a few moments but eventually Haruto smiled when he heard a soft “yeah.”
So he moved his arm as you lifted your head to rest on top of it. You curled into him as his arm wrapped around your upper body. Haruto’s stomach exploded in butterflies. Your face was on fire. But the two of you were happy, blissful.
Last Friday night Haruto asked you to come to one of his lacrosse games. “Y/N, this is my friend Hanbyul. Hanbyul, this is Y/N.”
“Y/N?” Hanbyul stared at you eyes wide. Like she knew something. She looked like she wanted to say something but she held it in. You wondered what it was, but decided not to think too much about it.
Hanbyul was sweet. She kept you company throughout the game. But she was an aggressive cheer-er. Most of her attention was spent yelling at the field. Her energy was contagious and by the end of the game you were standing on the bleachers cheering “Go Haruto!”
Now it was Saturday and the two of you had finally gone to see the movie that you had meant to see a couple Thursdays ago. You clasped onto the arm that Haruto had held out for you as you exited the movie theater. “That movie was so good! It was so crazy!”
Haruto laughed. “Yeah it was okay.”
“Just okay? You didn’t like it?”
“No, I liked it. It wasn’t bad. But I feel like there were better movies from this cinematic universe you know?”
“Yeah I guess.”
“Which one was your favorite?” Haruto asked.
“Huh?” You looked up at Haruto to see him looking down at you. You turned away. “Um. Would you wanna come back to my place?”
“Huh?” Haruto wasn’t normally caught off guard but this time he was.
“I mean. Not like that. I just, I don’t know I’m not ready for the night to end and I figured since my place is close by we could just go back and chat.”
Haruto smiled. “Yeah, that sounds nice. Let’s go.”
Soon after the two of you arrived at your place, Haruto got situated on the couch and after making sure he was properly settled in. You had gotten up to go fetch your drinks. Haruto spotted your notebook sitting on the edge of the coffee table. He glanced over to see that your attention was fully occupied on making your drinks. Haruto turned back to stare at the notebook. No. The notebook was staring at him. Haruto knew it was wrong. He knew he shouldn’t peek.
But he couldn’t help it. Every time he saw you he either saw the notebook with you or he saw you writing the notebook and every time he even remotely looked in its direction you guarded it with your life. This could be his only chance.
And so, Haruto grabbed the notebook. He flipped through it and saw that it was very meticulously dated. Upon closer inspection he noticed that each entry was timed as well and every timed entry had extensive details about what you saw, what you talked about. Then he flipped backwards and found one page not like the others.
This page wasn’t dated. Instead, it was titled. Haruto. Haruto’s eyes widened. Every line of his designated page was filled. There were things about him on there that even he hadn’t realized he had said. Why had you written all these things down? All these details didn’t seem that important to him. They were like things that were probably easily remembered. Or things you could ask him about, he’d answer if you ever asked him about.
Just as he was about to continue flipping through the pages of the notebook. “What do you think you’re doing?”
An index card fluttered out of the notebook right at Haruto’s feet. Haruto bent down to pick it up. But in a panic you kicked his shin and as he howled and grabbed onto his leg you snatched the card. “What the hell Y/N?”
“No. I should be asking you that. I’ve made it abundantly clear that this notebook is not to be touched. It’s incredibly private to me.”
“What is it? Why is it so important? I asked Hanbyul what it might be and she just said it was probably a diary. What is so special about yours?”
“What is so special about mine?” you were so angry you felt like your head was about to pop. While your head didn’t pop. Your mouth certainly did. “What is so special about mine? This notebook? This notebook. Is my memory. I don’t have a memory.”
You tossed the card at Haruto. He picked it up and read the words on the card as you spoke.
“At age 13 you were involved in a very traumatic car accident. The accident left you in a coma for two weeks. After you recovered from your coma you were diagnosed with anterograde amnesia. From that day on, you no longer have the ability to make memories. The memories you make within a day will only last until you fall asleep wherein your memories of the previous day will be wiped. Use your notebooks to keep track of your days. Use these notebooks to help you remember.”
You could hear your voice waver as you finished reciting the contents on the index card.
“Y/N, I-” Haruto said. The world seemed grayer and grimmer. Everything made so much sense now. Why every time he spoke to you in school you had to ask for his name. Why sometimes you looked confused or blank when he mentioned something or attempted to crack a joke.
“So now you know.” You whispered. You could feel your body start to heave, your breathing became heavy. The gravity of what you had just exposed started to weigh down on you. “You need to leave. You need to leave and never come back.”
“Y/N. I wish you would have told me.”
“Why?” You snarled. “Why would I tell you that? Each day I wake up I can’t even remember who you are. Why would I have told you anything? Just so you could go around pitying me? Telling everyone else about me? Absolutely not.”
Haruto started to feel tears well up in his own eyes. He felt trapped in his own body as he watched your body fail yours. When he saw you collapse something snapped in his head and he got up and picked you up. One arm held you under your shoulder blades and the other below your knees.
“Get. Out.” you said in between wheezes.
“No. Y/N. I’m sorry. I don’t want to. Let me help you.”
“Get. Out.” you said, barely conscious.
“Y/N. You’re scaring me. What do I do? How do I help you? Let me help you and I’ll leave you alone.”
Your eyelids were getting heavier and heavier. Honestly, you weren’t even sure what exactly was going on. Maybe it would be smart to have Haruto call your doctor before he left. “Emergency Numbers. Notebook.”
Haruto placed you down on your bed just as you had passed out. Haruto immediately ran back to the living room and grabbed your notebook that had fallen onto the ground. He flipped through it frantically. What page were the emergency numbers on? He saw them scribbled on the inside of the back cover. He grabbed his phone and dialed the first number listed at the top.
“Hello? Is this Y/N’s doctor? She’s just passed out and I don’t know what to do. I’m in her apartment right now. Someone please come help me.” Haruto hadn’t even realized that tears had been streaming down his face until he saw wet splotches appear on the notebook. He wiped them quickly and sniffed. “This is scaring me.”
“Yes, this is Y/N’s doctor. I’m on my way over. Who is this?”
“Haruto. I’m a friend of hers.”
“Haruto. You did good, son. Just wait. I’ll be there in a second.”
“Doctor. Is she gonna be okay?”
“Honestly I can’t tell you right now. I have to check up on her. Right now I’m in front of her door so you can let me in.” The call ended and Haruto opened the door.
“Is she in her room?” The stout man asked.
Haruto nodded and followed him back into your room. He tried to help the doctor but eventually the doctor turned to him and said “son, just relax. Give me some space. She should be fine. She had a panic attack, something must have worked her up. But she’ll wake up. But, it might be better if you aren’t here by the time she wakes up.
“I understand, doctor.”
The doctor took a good look at him. Then nodded grimly before turning his attention back to you. Before Haruto could leave though he saw a stack of index cards, a roll of washi tape, and a pen sitting on your desk. He was still holding your notebook from earlier. He grabbed the materials and headed back out to the living room.
Before he left he scribbled out a note. Then pulled something out of his wallet and taped it to the back of the index card. He then taped the index card to the inside of the front cover before shutting the notebook and leaving it in the middle of your coffee table. He held in a sob as he got up. How had things gone so sour so quickly?
Haruto walked back over to your room and peeked in. Your doctor was still busy doting on you. So he turned around and exited your apartment. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and called Junkyu. “Hey, can you pick me up?”
“Yeah of course. Send me the address.” Junkyu said, trying not to be too alarmed by the tone of Haruto’s voice.
Eventually, you woke up. After reading the note that your doctor had taped to your hand explaining the situation you took a deep sigh. What a shit show. You needed to find the notebook your doctor had mentioned in his note.
It was sitting in the very middle of your coffee table. You flipped through the last few pages to read your entries. Your eyes started to water and you felt yourself get emotional. You could sense that you had grown close to someone. You read about yourself and how you felt about Haruto, but who was Haruto? For the most part you had made peace with your situation but for the first time in a long time, you began to feel frustrated. Angry. Cheated of a normal life that other 16 year old girls got to live.
Just as you were about to shut the notebook you noticed there were two index cards taped to the inside cover. The first one explained your situation. It was more or less what your doctor had just explained to you. But the second one was new. You lifted it up to your face and began to read it aloud.
Y/N,
If you’re reading this, I want you to know that you are the love of my life. My name is Haruto Watanabe and I am 16 years old. I met you for the first time in our freshman year of high school back then when we lived in Japan. We were only 14 years old. I used to be jealous of you, how you beat me in school every time even if just by a little bit. I also resented you because I thought you never bothered to remember my name.
By some stroke of fate, we both ended up in America. Whether by fate or not we saw each other a few more times and met up with each other and I really began to fall for you. You are the kindest, most beautiful, and genuine person I have ever met in my life.
I want you to know that even with your condition. My opinion and my feelings towards you have not changed. I want to be honest with you and tell you what I did and I hope in time you can read this and not feel angry.
Y/N, I did something bad. I invaded your privacy. You see, every time I saw you you fiercely guarded this notebook. Everytime I asked about it or possibly glimpsed at it you would react so strongly so eventually the curiosity of needing to know what was in the notebook killed me. And one day when your attention was occupied elsewhere, I read it.
It seemed like a regular diary to me but you caught me in the act and got upset with me. You explained to me your condition and I want you to know I’m sorry. I’m so so sorry I behaved so insensitively. If I were a more selfless man I would have left your life for good. But I am not. I’ve attached my school I.D. to the back of this card. On it has my name, my picture, and my phone number.
If you ever find it in yourself to forgive me. Please give me a call. I will always love you.
Love,
Haruto Watanabe
You flipped the back of the card over. Sure enough there was a school I.D. taped to the back. You pulled the card off and stared at it. The boy in the picture was handsome. He was tall. His height was 6’2”. You scoffed, at least you had good taste.
You saw his phone number at the bottom. You pondered over whether or not to call him, what would you even say to him? Where would he even fit in your life?
These were the questions that ran through your mind as you pulled your phone out and dialed his number. You stared at the numbers as you recited them aloud again. Your thumb hovering above the green button.

invisible - scaramouche x reader (part 2)
you can read part one here
warnings: mild language
life as a fatui agent wasn’t as interesting as it might sound. sure, there were debt collections and the occasional mission, but, to be honest, you mostly just handled paperwork. still, you always found yourself enjoying your work— especially after you found yourself stupidly infatuated with your cruel, beautiful boss.
scaramouche had been speaking to you a bit more since the mission, sometimes bringing his paperwork to you directly, or occasionally asking you to supervise the lower-level agents while he was away on business. you knew it probably meant nothing, after all, you were just good at your job. it was only natural that he would want to give you a few extra responsibilities. however, that didn’t stop your mind from wandering to thoughts of him while you were bored at your desk, or before you drifted off to sleep.
but you couldn’t allow yourself to have those thoughts. you hated yourself for having a stupid crush on him— he was wicked, and selfish, and sadistic. at least, that’s what people said. but what about that moment back when the two of you had been attacked by treasure hoarders? he hadn’t seemed too terribly cruel then.
you sighed, signing your name at the end of another tedious document. the workday was almost over, surely you could make it through another thirty minutes of boredom without wanting to kill yourself. you scribbled away at your work, checking the clock every few minutes in anticipation, until…
“ugh, finally!” you slid the papers into a neat pile and practically raced for the door, grabbing your coat and weapon on the way out. you were in such a rush that you weren’t paying any attention to your surroundings, so you didn’t notice the man right around the corner.
“ugh, what the hell, dumbass! do you have a death wish? watch where you’re—” your eyes widened when you saw the person who had been berating you. oh god, you were so screwed.
“o-oh, mr. scaramouche! i’m so sorry, i was just in a hurry, i shouldn’t have been so careless!” you internally cringed at your groveling, hating that you had to reduce yourself to this in front of him of all people. but your self preservation skills had kicked in, and you knew scaramouche was not known for being forgiving.
but when he noticed who you were, he stopped his little tirade and started… smiling? slowly, he rose from the floor, brushing himself off before reaching out his hand.
you were getting major deja vu right now.
you hesitantly took his outstretched hand, and he pulled you to your feet. the two of you shared a small look, his pale purple eyes boring into you. then, he let out a small sigh. “you sure are clumsy, you know that?” he said, crossing his arms over his chest. you felt your face flush, and you didn’t really know how to respond. honestly, the fact that he hadn’t killed you yet was a miracle.
“yeah, i guess i am…” you looked down at the floor. “i— why aren’t you mad?” you blurted out, regretting it almost immediately.
scaramouche cocked an eyebrow. “who says i’m not mad?”
oh dear. there was still time for him to murder you yet. “i-i just meant— i mean, people always say you’re this horribly guy, who, like, murders his underlings over the stupidest of things, you know?” wow, you just had to open your big mouth again, didn’t you? you were so nervous that you didn’t notice the little smile playing at scaramouche’s lips. “that’s not what i meant! i just… i should probably stop talking, shouldn’t i?”
scaramouche was struggling to hold back a laugh. “yes, you probably should,” he replied, pretending like he wasn’t enjoying the flustered look on your face. “i will admit, i am known for losing my temper. but it would be foolish of me to kill off such a talented agent over something as trivial as this.”
you couldn’t help but blush a bit at his comment. that wasn’t the first time he had paid you a compliment, either, and you found yourself unable to control your heartbeat when you finally looked him in the eye again. “so…” you trailed off, unsure of what to say.
“so,” he began, leaning in until your faces were merely inches apart, “maybe i should bring you on missions with me more often. i could use someone with your… courage. as long as you promise to try not to fall on the ground as much.”
your face went completely red. you were trying your best to remain composed, but you were probably failing miserably. “i-i think i could do that,” you said, giving him a little nod. he grinned.
“good.” the minute scaramouche stepped back, you let out a breath that you didn’t even know you had been holding. “i’ll see you tomorrow. don’t be late,” he said, rounding the corner and returning to his office.
you stood there for nearly ten minutes, trying to comprehend what the hell just happened. your heart was racing, and you could barely even feel your face anymore. you honestly had no idea what you were feeling…. but one thing was for sure— you definitely weren’t invisible anymore.
ok i’m not completely happy with how this turned out but it’s fine! i’ll live with it lol. people seemed interested in a part two so i delivered! don’t know if i’ll ever add more to this particular fic but i’ll probably do more scara fics in the future, i love the short angry hat man. thanks for reading!

Sakusa, Tsukishima and Kenma when their s/o gets a wound
requested: sakusa, tsukki, and kenma with a s/o who gets a wound? maybe they went to do an activity and get their knees scraped bad and the boys find out? how would they take care of their s/o?
Sakusa was such a good pick for this oh my that’s probably why his is a bit longer please forgive me I am weak for him ok
Sakusa Kiyoomi:
Tumblr media
There were not a lot of things you could do as dates, since Sakusa declined most of your suggestions saying that it would be too unhygienic or too much work making sure everything would be clean.
But when you came up with the idea of going wandering on a mountain trail, where only mostly elderly people where, he was all for it. Of course he also didn’t liek staying insiode all the time, and a place where anybody went while being in nature sounded like music to his ears.
However you regretted your decision soon after you guys started your trip. You were breathing heavily and your legs already felt like spaghetti and you werent even halfway up the hill. Sakusa however, with his amazing sports stamina was walking ahead and barely notived that you fell way behind, until he wanted to talk to you and you didn’t respond to his words. He turned around wondering where you were. Did you maybe get lost? But then he saw you hanging over, your hands placed on your knees and you looked up to him smiling, but you couldn’t hide the exhaustion.
Your boyfriend couldn’t help but chuckle seeing you like that. He walks to you and stops in front of you, tilting his head while he observes your heaving figure. “You know, we can just return if you want to. But the air up here is really good and I guess it’s even better at the top.” You just shake your head, insisting on continuing this trip because it hasn’t been often that you saw Kiyoomi this careless. You were determined to make this an enjoyable trip for the both of you, but especially him. He deserved a pause from his hectic life.
So he grabs your hand and walks slowly beside you for a while, both of you enjoying the nature around you and the fresh air sweeping through your lungs. When you’re finally at the top you have a nice picnic while enjoing the view over the land, watching leaves dance in the wind and tumbling around you, taking in all the scents of exotic flowers and birds chirping somewhere in the tree tops.
You feel a lot better when you get back down. Walking down on a mountain is a lot less exhausting than walking up, after all. Your steps fly more easily. Too easily. You’re more careless with your steps and before you can stop it you stumble over a big rock in your way, landing on your knees before Sakusa can grab your wrist. However he’s quick to help you up again and you flinch and hiss when you shift your weight on your left leg again. Your knee is totally scraped, a small rill of blood running down your leg. Some small stones still stick to your skin and Sakusa is quick to pull out a small package from his backpack, because this man never goes anywhere unprepared.
He helps you sit down on a tree trunk next to the path you were walking and he looks at you with slight amusement but also worry in his eyes. He sighs before leaning down and placing a kiss on the top of your head and then kneels down in front of you, taking care of the wound. “What am I gonna do with you? You’re so clumsy...” he mumbles and you have to smile, though your knee still burns badly. Sakusa takes care of it perfectly, even kissing the bandage on top of your knee after he’s done. However, he doesn’t let you walk down again, he carries you down all the way on his back and you’re not complaining.
You just cling onto him and cuddle into his back, burying your face in his neck and stroking his hair occassionally, thanking him for taking care of you so well. He smiles to himself when he feels you pressing to him, feeling your breath so close on his skin.
After the trip he still checks up on your knee everyday, even when it’s not a wound that serious. He still claims that it shouldn’t get infected and that he’s the only one besides a doctor that can take proper care of it. Always kisses your knee after every check up! A true cariing cutie, I am way too soft for this man
Tsukishima Kei:
Tumblr media
It was hard to get Tsukishima thrilled of the idea of going somewhere special to hang out. He was more of the stay inside kinda person, preferring just cuddling up to you in private.
You accepted his choices (even though you still got him to go to certain places sometimes) and that’s how you transformed everyday situations into little dates. Like lunch in school or staying in your garden instead of in the house, sometimes you’d even join his practice and watch him there. Even though he would never admit it, he enjoyed it when you do that. It always makes his insides all giddy and warm because you care for him so much!
You also always walk home together, talking about anything on your way or just quietly listening to music while enjoying each other’s company, silently holding or hands or sometimes he’ll just sling an arm around your shoulders and pull you close to him, walking like that for a while.
Today however you were “balancing” on a wall next to the sidewalk while talking to Kei and rambling about your day. It was fun to you focusing on taking the right steps, even though the platform you were walking on was not that small. You still had to be careful about where you placed your feet, because there were roots and other plants growing over and through the stone. “Ugh anyway, and then our teacher just made us write a test, and it was fine I guess but still sucked.” you ended your little rant.
“Y/N, are you really sure you should walk up there? Don’t you think it would be safer down here? You’re gonna get hurt if you don’t look out.” Tsukki just says while looking up to you with a vague face. You almost laughed seeing him like that. Was he actually worrying about you? Contrary to you always worrying about him at games, this was a nice change.
“Don’t be silly Kei, I’ve been balancing on things since I was a child, literally nothing will happen-” And that’s when you literally cursed yourself, because just moment later you stumble over a root and fall down, though you manage to cushion your fall with your hands which got the most damage.
Your boyfriend is right next to you in no time, helping you up and scanning your body for any injuries, but luckily only your hands got injured and your elbow felt weird, making your whole arm feel like some sort of pudding. Tsukki is just shaking his head while taking in the scrapes and cuts on your hands. You flinch when he softly touches your strained skin and he looks at you with disapproval. His eyes literally tell you “I told you so.” but fortunately he has enough tactfulness to not say it out loud. He accompanies you to your house, constantly shaking his head when you whimper and pout because your hands hurt.
He reluctantly helps you clean your hands, because he claims he’s not good with that kind of stuff and he only helps you bandage the wound because you don’t want to move your hands too much. Quiet sounds of disapproval still leave his lips as he does, though. Something like that could never happen to him, he says. Still, the look in his eyes is loving. He appreciates your playful side a lot. Without it, his life would be pretty plain. Without YOU it would be.
He loves you, but please prepare for a bunch of teasing after the incident. He will never let you climb on something or balance somewhere every again for a long time because honestly? He cares about you a little too much and he can’t bear to see you hurt in any way.
Kenma Kozume:
Tumblr media
Kenma always seemed to be busy with some things. In the morning it was school, in the afternoon volleyball practice and in the evening and at night he was usually gaming.
You tried you best to insert yourself into his routine. Walk to school with him, spend the breaks at school with him, game with him, watch him at practice. You were fine with it, really, because you noticed how over the time he got more cooperative and sometimes skipped volleyball practice to hang out with you, or he was starting to game a bit less in order to go to the cinema with you etc.
But you still treasured the time the most when you could hang with him normally, like at practice. You could actually spend hours watching him do something else other than hanging over his console.
And the other members loved you, too. They appreciated you being at practice, it was like having another manager. You also took care of them and told them everything you observed, you brought snacks and cheered for them in any game. Sometimes you’d even join in during training camps and get along with other teams, as well.
You normally used your time during practice to do homework or work on other things, but today you helped out as the “ballboy/girl” basically and ran around the gym catching the flying volleyballs and collecting them for the boys. You’d throw them back to them or helped them to serve the ball, but you were always just moving around the whole time. You didn’t mind, though. It was actually very fun, the boys were constantly joking around. But Kenma didn’t look all that amused whenever a ball just closely missed you or when you almost fell in an attempt to catch a ball.
You watched as him and Yaku were talking to Lev and teaching him how to do a proper serve. The first year was listening eagerly, moving his hands and arms around enthusiastically and you found yourself grinning when Kenma moved his hands over his face in frustration.
Then it finally came to Lev putting all the tips into something and he was standing at the end of the field, ready to serve. You watched him fail a few times until he hit the ball with a loud bang and slammed it over the net, right to where you were standing. No one had enough time to react properly and before you could even think about diodging the ball landed straight on your chest and you fell backwards, hitting your head on the floor hard. For a moment you couldn’t see or hear anything, just darkness and dancing light in front of your eyes and a defeaning beeping in your ears.
Someone helped you to sit up and you slowly began to see contours of people around you, and their voices were still incomprehendable to you. You felt hands on your back and then on your face and you looked into your boyfriends face who had widened eyes and looked very pale.
Then he turned around and basically chased Lev through hell for doing this, giving him the lecture of his life even though you weren’t hurt that badly. there was a small wound at the back of your head and just a little bit of blood came out.
Kenma was by your side the whole time, flinching a lot more than you when you got a bandage around your head. You got some medication from the doctor and while you were tripping a little bit he still stayed at your side, giving you his console so you can play and distract yourself from ther pain
Literally really won’t leave your side, will stay at your house until you can go to school again and he just spends the days next to you in your bed, pouting when he sees the wound and carefully stroking your hair. He’s a big cuddler during this time and literally won’t led you near the gym anytime soon. He always gives Lev death stares when he gets near you, like a hissing cat.
A protective boy, 11/10 would love and cherish

Unwilling prey, homebrew humanoid mimic pred, fear play, soft vore, safe vore, fatal implied (for your party), reader insert, DnD type setting
🥭🍡🥭🍡🥭🍡🥭🍡🥭🍡🥭🍡🥭🍡🥭
Your heart pounds in your chest and you're gasping for breath as you lean against the cave wall and collapse, breathing hard you can help but think how stupid you were to agree to follow your group members as they wandered off from the main group and from the designated trail to explore, you're lvl ones, it's bad enough you guys got literally sucked into the campaign you were playing, DM included, then they wanted to split the party, but they wouldn't listen to you when you expressed how bad of an idea it was to explore an unknown dungeon if you split the party. Unlucky for you that had them decide that nobody was gonna pair up with you and now you're in this mess.
You had bumped into one of the DM's homebrew monster races a fucking humanoid mimic based on your DM's idea of "ok how about a mimic but this type of mimic is sexy and can be born from other races though still be full mimic but they at first they look completely normal and can shapeshift only the lower half of their body and ears with only minor changes to the appearance of their torso like if they try to turn into a fully scaled mer they're successful with their ears and tail but only get a few scales on their face and chest, and like, they take the abilities of the creatures they turn into and they can be any alignment"
And then your remember what else your dm said "I'm going to use them in vore campaign as a pred" a predator species, this is the vore campaign, what the fuck do you do now?
Your palm covers your mouth as you inhale sharply, your DM still controls certain aspects, you still have to role against the DM though they're trapped with the villain of the campaign they can still tell you when to roll and you can still tell them your role with some form of dice telepathy you don't really understand.
when the party split the DM made you make stealth checks when you entered the dungeon, you failed and as a bard the DM had you playing music which you asked if you were at least going to play well, you rolled a Nat 20 for that, and the DM told you if you lost the dice and didn't roll when you needed to you may end up screwed. the mimic ate yours. How? Well.
----
You failed a perception check and sat on the random chest you found, you heard and voice tell you it sounded nice, you react by immediately jumping off it as it opens your dice bag fell to the ground with one of the mimic's hand snatching it off the ground, their crossed arms resting on the rim of the chest and propping their chin up with a mischievous grin on their face they address you," oy, why ya stop playin?" Failing to get a response out of your stunned form they push themselves up before they toss the bag in the air a few times, they dangle the bag in front of them " ya need this aye?" You nod feeling tense, the mimic grins, opens their mouth and tossing your dice bag in their gaping maw before snapping it shut as you stare in horror at the disappearing bulge of your dice as the mimic swallows them.
"Phooo, how bout ya come n get em? Go on n reach in." they place their elbows on the rim of the chest and prop their head up their maw gaping open once more while they look at you deviously, you turn tail and run.
---
You grimace, if you don't get those dice back then...., taking a deep breath you turn around and walk back into the room, they're still waiting and grinning at you while you approach, "change ya mind?" They open their mouth again, you kneel and slowly shove your hand down their throat, their throat is relaxed, it feels like you're shoving your arm into a slimy tube lined with balloons, you reach in all the way to your shoulder you should have reached the dice by now, it's then you remember what else your DM said
"they'll have like six stomachs, and like four are bigger on the inside, 2 are not connected and are just filled with treasure n shit then there's and with the other four only 2 are digestive and the digestive ones are connected to each other and vise versa with the non-digestive ones, the top ones are stretchy and durable enough to hold a god damn chimera without much trouble but their stomach would look about half the size of what they ate because bigger on the inside and the bottom ones are like hammer space, once something is in you wouldn't even see a bulge, the friendly acting ones like to trick their targets into feeding themselves to them, only-"shit, oh fuck.
Your face goes pale and your eyes widen , you jerk your arm out to your elbow before the mimic's throat captures it in a vice grip, they grab your other arm and shove it in too gulping thickly you're pulled back in up to your shoulders, you stare at their face in terror, their eyes tell you all you need to know, they're going to eat you, there's no escape.
They grab the back of your head and shove your face into their salivating maw swallowing harshly, you're cries are muffled by the slick flesh pressed against your face, they grab your belt and pull , a sharp gulp forcing you in up to your hips, the mimic shifts their shape as they heft your kicking legs in the air giving themselves legs as they stand lifting themselves up and grasping your kicking legs in the air, they swallow and as your thighs pass their lips your hands push through a ring of flesh. Squish tight by thick muscles pulling you down you try to think of anything that might help you in this moment, a few more swallow your head enters the chamber.
Shit you can't think of anything, it's only a few more rounds before you're forced to curl up inside their gut, from the outside it looks as if they had swallowed a beach ball, you feel something hard under you and you grasp it, pulling it out from under you, you discover your dice bag, you roll to while you attempt an escape, you don't meet the DC, the only thing that escapes is air as the mimic let's out a belch loud enough to echo for several seconds.
They slap their hand on their stomach,"Ur-up, oy now, ya don really think tha would work did ya? Once I swallow something it ain't comin out easy, feel free ta keep tryin tho, ya squirmin feels great." Shit, you roll to persuade them to let you go as you struggle, kicking and pushing at their stomach wall, you tell them you didn't come in here alone, that your party will no doubt come investigate where that echo came from.
You fail once more, you can't see the wild and vicious looking grin that forms on their face, "a meal an a fight, sounds great ta me"shhiiiiit they're one of those types, you feel them move around a bit, you try to remember the last thing your dm said about the humanoid mimic's race, only, only what? "Only thing that can save you at that point is making it appealing to keep you alive as one of their many items they swallow, like give them something no one else can do" something no one else can do, the homebrew spells you chosen.
'what if I told you I had the ability to summon food and drink?' you feel them stop "I'd say ya were bullshitin me." 'but what if I can prove it?' You feel a hand slam down on your back and wince "then prove it, how bout ya summon me a beer?" 'i will need you to press a waterskin against your stomach.' "oh?" 'it's not a long range spell,' you feel them press something again their stomach and cast the spell hoping it will work through flesh, the mimic looks at the waterskin sceptically as it fills, they uncork it and lift the spout to their nose, they take a sniff and don't find anything off about the liquid so they take a swig, then proceed to down it.
You tense hearing them gulp and get ready to become drenched in alcohol...but it never happens,no drink comes raining down on you, you're confused they said a meal and a fight, you, weren't you the meal? What's going on?
"Ah, tha's some good stuff." They pat their gut, "was jus gonna take ya in for yur bounty but now I changed ma mind-" 'I have a bounty?' You interrupt, the mimic scoffs "wha ya didn know?" 'no, why do I have a bounty on me?' "oh yur serious, ya know tha group uh nobles ya pranked a tha had ya run out uh towns a while back?" 'oh them......I regret nothing...but wait, you said a fight and a meal after I told you about my party, what did you mean by that?' you ask apprehensive, "what ya think I meant?"
Oh, oh no, you shift uneasy, 'you're planning to fight and eat my companions aren't you?' "maybe I am,wha ya gonna do bout it." ....well the DM did say that it appears even if you end up dying here you can always roll-up a new character and come back as long as someone from the original group is still alive but you won't remember how you died.
'I'm in your magic damage resistant stomach, I don't think there's anything I can do except offer to summon food so you won't eat them.' they pat their bulging gut, "nice try but I ain't a bout ta give up on a fight an a squirmin meal, as fur wha I'm gonna do with ya now" you hear a groan beneath you and their gut clenches pressing down on you as you begin to slip through to the stomach connect to this one you hear them say "can na have ya givin me way, so I'll have ta swallow ya deeper."
You take a small plummet before landing in something soft and wet, you quickly cast dancing lights, you see you landed in a bunch of fabrics and other soft items, you think you see a few pillows and you have a bit more room despite being shoulder deep in fabrics and pillows, the sphincter above you looks twice your size now, damn you think, they really are bigger on the inside.
You sigh feeling a bit bad knowing you accidentally sent what is most likely a very high level mimic after your party, but hey, you did warn them splitting the party was a bad idea, you can't hear much now except the groans of their organs around you, knowing your not actually in any danger now you lift your arm out of the fabric and slam a fist against one of the fleshy walls surrounding you in frustration, their stomach jostles and you clap your hands over your ears at sound of their booming laugh "still got sum fight in ya ey? An after I made ya all nice n comfy, gave ya my bes room, could a put ya with all the gol n weapons after all." They joke, and you sigh again and rub their gut wall, "tha's better. I'm gonna enjoy having ya round,"
That sounds like they're still not going to let you go....fuck maybe you shouldn't have let them know you could be a source of free food and booze, on the other hand the nobles probably would have did you in for the embarrassment you caused them, guess you're stuck with a mimic bounty hunter, by the time they get here again from the starting point you're sure the mimic will be long gone and they won't be able to find you.

His Girls
For my dear friend @sweetsecretskeptinside , who loves the idea of Aaron being a girl dad probably more than I do. Part of the Full House series Rating: Mature (for the tiniest bit of spice, but mostly because Emily has a potty mouth)
Trigger Warning: mentions of people throwing up/being sick Read over on a03, or below the cut
“I should cancel.” She says, nervously biting her lip as she readjusted their daughter on her hip. “I don’t think it’s a good idea if I go.”
Ivy was unwell, a cold making their usually happy baby very cranky. Emily was standing by their front door, dressed in a knee length red dress, her hair curled to perfection and her make up painstakingly applied. She looked beautiful, as she always did, but on edge. She had Ivy curled in her arms, the 9 month old practically trying to crawl under her skin as she clambered to get impossibly closer to her mother.
Aaron was usually the favourite, the one Ivy would seek out at any given moment, but as soon as she was sick she was all about Emily. Demanding her mother’s embrace and attention.
“Em, love, it’s your bachelorette party.” He says, trying to reason with her. “If you don’t go it’s kind of pointless.”
“But she’s sick.” Emily rocks Ivy, gently patting her back at the same time to try and soothe the rattle in her chest. Each cough that came from her daughter made Emily’s heart constrict. “She needs me.”
Aaron closes the gap between them then pulls his fiancee and daughter into his arms. “She does, but I’ll be here.” He soothes, pressing a kiss to Emily’s temple. “And you need to go out with your friends, when was the last time you did that?”
He knew the answer was long before Ivy was born, her reluctance to go to bars with Penelope and JJ whilst pregnant born out of being the designated driver, and having to ignore many questions about her sex life with Aaron. He still remembers her coming home one night when she was 5 months pregnant, frustrated to the point of tears over how different things were.
He also knew that some of her hesitance to go out now was that this was the first time she was willingly spending a night away from their daughter. Emily had gone back to work months ago, when Ivy was 4 months old, so had been away on several cases since then, but she’d turned down many requests from Penelope for girls' nights in the interim. Wanting to spend as much time with Ivy as she could when she didn’t need to be away.
Aaron loves her for it, how much she adores their daughter. She was exactly the mother he always knew she would be, the one he assured her she was when she struggled to believe she could do it during her pregnancy and the hard early days of motherhood. But he knew she needed some of her old self back, to remind herself of who she was outside of the BAU and their home. So despite how much he selfishly wanted her to stay home, how he knew Ivy would settle easier with her there, and how he struggled to sleep without Emily next to him, he was encouraging her to go out.
Emily sighs. “A long time ago.” She runs her hand up and down Ivy’s back again, who now had her face pressed into Emily’s neck.
“We’ll be fine here.” Aaron says, gently easing the baby into his own arms. “She’ll go to sleep soon anyway, and then Jack and I will watch a movie.”
Her hands twitch to reach out for Ivy when the little girl starts to cry again, but the doorbell rings before she can talk anymore about cancelling her night out. Emily sighs as she turns to open the door, a fake smile plastered on her face as Penelope enthusiastically greets her, pulling her into a hug.
Ivy cries, drawing the attention back to her. Emily is by Aaron’s side immediately, her hand on her daughter's back. She kisses her hair, soothing her with gentle words.
Aaron and Penelope exchange a quick look whilst Emily kisses the back of Ivy’s head, and an understanding passes between them before Emily can change her mind again about going out.
“Come on.” Penelope says as she links her arm through Emily’s. “The bride-to-be can’t be late to her own bachelorette party.” She tugs Emily towards the door, not really giving her any choice in the matter. “Your adorable mini-me will still be here when you get back.”
Emily throws Aaron a smile over her shoulder as she leaves, watches as he gently bounces a still cranky Ivy. “Call me if you need me to come home.”
“Have fun, sweetheart.” He says as the door closes behind them, unable to resist smiling when he could still hear Penelope’s enthusiastic voice as they walked away from the house. He looks down to Ivy in his arms, and rubs her back when she coughs again. “Why don’t we go see what your brother is up to?”
Ivy promptly throws up on him and he sighs.
It was going to be a long night. ______________________
Aaron is surprised when JJ brings Emily home only three hours later. When he opens the front door and sees her leaning against their friend, a giggle on her lips and a very hazy look in her eyes, he realises this might be the drunkest he’s ever seen her.
“Is she ok?” He asks, not quite covering the panic in his voice as he takes her from JJ, who made sure Emily was fully leaning against him before she let go.
“She got really drunk, really fast.” JJ explains, a sheepish look on her face. “The same thing happened to me my first night out after I had Henry.”
Realisation dawns on him, a memory of Haley getting absolutely wasted her first night out with her friends after she had Jack. Her tolerance changed, but her expectations of her ability to drink wine like it was going out of fashion remained the same.
Emily could drink like no one he had ever met. He attributed it to her growing up in Europe. Wine and hard liquor were her drinks of choice as a teenager, as opposed to the wine coolers and beer she was more likely to have drunk if she had been in the US. He could smell absinthe on her breath, and he wondered if they’d even bothered to eat anything before they went straight into the heavy drinking.
“Thanks for bringing her home, JJ.”
JJ nods at him, and mercifully ignores it when Emily clearly palms the front of his jeans. She always had been a handsy drunk. He thanks JJ again before closing the door, and he thinks logistically about how he was going to get Emily upstairs.
“You’re very handsome.” She slurs into his cheek, hand moving round to his back pocket, slipping in and grabbing a handful of his ass. “So pretty.”
Aaron stifles a laugh, knowing when he tells her about this in the morning she’ll be embarrassed. “Ok, sweetheart.”
She somehow stumbles on the spot and he knows he has no choice but to carry her. He wraps an arm around her back and places one under her thighs, lifting her into his arms. As soon as she is leaning against his chest she loops an arm around his neck, sleepiness taking her almost instantly.
He gets her into bed managing to change her into one of his t-shirts and get her shoes off, tucking her in. When he gets in next to her she rolls towards the edge of the bed. “Need to check on Ivy.”
“Not now, sweetheart.” He laughs pulling her back towards him. “She’s sleeping, just like need to.”
“I need you.”
He kisses the top of her head. “I’m right here.” ______________________
He suddenly wakes up at 1.30am and at first he’s not sure what’s woken him. Aaron sits up in bed and quickly realises it’s empty next to him. He hears retching coming from the ensuite and is out of bed quickly.
He finds her kneeling on the bathroom floor, just flushing the toilet as she sits back, groaning as she turns back to look at him. He sits on the floor behind her and rubs her back. “Oh, sweetheart.”
“I used to be able to drink more than this.” She laments, all but crawling the small distance from where she’d been laying on the bathroom floor into his lap, curling up into him like a cat. “I cannot remember the last time I got sick. I think I was a teenager.”
Aaron smiled to himself as he stroked her hair. She wasn’t wrong, she could usually drink the entire BAU under the table. Derek never learnt, always daring her to drinking challenges he would inevitably lose. The worst Emily ever got was a hangover, a headache that made her head feel like it was going to explode as she begged him to stay in bed with her. He’d never seen her get sick with it before.
“Sweetheart, you had a baby 9 months ago. And you only just stopped nursing her. Your tolerance has probably changed.”
She groans and presses her face into his thigh, curling tighter into his lap. “So what you’re saying is this is our sweet little girl's fault?”
He laughs at that. “No, what I’m saying is that you probably shouldn’t have gone straight for the absinthe.”
He feels her gag at the mention of alcohol and stops himself from laughing, knowing she would kill him for it even in her inebriated state. “Hindsight is a wonderful thing, Aaron.”
Aaron is about to ask her if she is fine to go back to bed when she wrenches herself from his lap, head bent over the toilet bowl again as she throws up again. He holds her hair with one hand and gently rubs her back between her shoulders. “You’re okay, Em.”
She groans, pulling back and leaning against him.
“You done?” He asks gently, hand still rubbing circles on her back. Her answer is a nod, and he flushes the toilet. He gets on his knees to reach for a washcloth off the counter, and he runs it under the tap before sitting back down next to her.
She apologises again as he washes her face gently with a washcloth, wiping away tears and vomit as she murmurs threats towards Penelope that he knows she would never carry out.
“You’re ok, love.” He soothes, pulling her hair back into a ponytail with a hair tie he had found on the floor.
“I’m a mess.” She laments, leaning against him. “I don’t know why you want to marry me.”
“Because I treasure you.” He replies, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Besides this isn’t that different from when you were pregnant with Ivy, except this time I can make it better.”
“You make everything better.” She mumbles into his neck, finally sounding sleepy. Aaron smiles and kisses the top of her head.
“Do you think you can make it to bed?”
She shakes her head against him. “No.” She swallows, grimacing at the taste in her mouth. “You can go though.”
He scoffs. “Like I’m going to leave you on the bathroom floor alone.” Aaron kisses her forehead. “I’ll be right back.” He leaves the bathroom and grabs a couple of pillows from their bed as well as the comforter.
He sits back down on the floor, and settles with his back to the bath, a pillow between him and the hard surface. He pulls her to his side so she can lay on him, a pillow on his thigh for her to rest her head on. When she’s settled against him he places the comforter over her.
“I’m sorry.” She apologies again, words slurring due to her sleepy state and the alcohol in her system.
“Stop apologising.” He replies, cupping the back of her head. “I love you, part of that is looking after you when you’re sick.”
“Even when it’s self-inflicted?”
“Especially then.” He soothes. “It’s just another way you and Ivy are similar.” He jokes. “I’ve had both of you throw up on me tonight.”
She lifts her head, too quickly if the groan that followed was any indication, and looks at him with concern laced through her features. “She was sick? You should have called.”
“Em.” He placates, lowering her head back down into his lap, scratching his blunt fingernails over her scalp. “She is fine, she just coughed a little too much that's all. It was only once.” He continues the way he’s scratching her head, knowing it never fails to lull her to sleep. “Now try and get some rest, baby. I’ll be here if you need me.”
She sleeps for two hours against him, and when it becomes clear she will sleep through what is left of the night he gently removes himself from under her. Despite a slight protest in his back he picks her up off the floor, gathering her into his arms so he can settle her into their bed. She doesn’t wake at all, a true sign of just how much she must have drunk. He places the comforter back over her and puts an empty trash can on the floor on her side of the bed.
Aaron slips into bed next to her and falls asleep as quickly, the warmth of her body providing comfort he could never find elsewhere. ______________________
Emily wakes up in the morning feeling awful. Aaron is not in bed next to her, but there is a glass of water on the nightstand along with some painkillers. She quickly takes them, carefully sipping the water as she does so, her stomach still unsettled.
She gets in the shower, washes away the lingering stench of liquor she swears she can smell on her skin. And she brushes her teeth to get rid of the awful taste in her mouth.
When she gets downstairs no one is in the house. She grabs her cell phone off of the kitchen counter, not even sure how it got there in the first place, and is about to call Aaron when the front door opens.
Aaron walks in, Ivy’s car seat in one hand and a McDonald’s bag in the other. Jack walks in right behind him, another McDonald's bag in his hands and a big smile on his face. As the smell of greasy food gets to her nose she doesn’t think she has ever loved her fiance more.
“You, Aaron Hotchner, are a GOD.” She kisses him before taking the baby carrier from his hand, leaving it to him to sort out whatever food he’d bought. Emily smiles at Ivy as she lifts her out. “Hi sweet girl. I missed you last night.” Ivy coughs against her and Emily frowns at the pitiful sound that comes out of her. “Oh, baby.”
“Em.”
She turns to look at Aaron and can’t help the laugh that escapes her when she sees the pile of hash browns he has bought.
“I love you so much.” She says as she reaches for one. “I can’t wait to marry you.”
“Me or the hashbrowns?” He quips, a wide smile on his face.
Emily bites into the food in question and groans. “It’s about 50/50 right now I’m not going to lie, honey.” ______________________
Ivy cries throughout their entire wedding ceremony. The little girl reaching for her father from Derek’s arms, clearly feeling as if she was missing out on something.
Aaron looks up at his bride, once again taken aback by how beautiful she looked. She gives him a quick nod before looking down to Jack who was standing by Aaron’s side, and she gives the young boy a wink.
Aaron walks over to the front row and takes Ivy from Derek, her tears clearing up almost instantly when she is in her fathers arms. He goes back to the front, apologising to the officiant before looking back at Emily.
“Hi, sweetheart.” Emily whispers to Ivy. “Didn’t want to miss out on the fun, huh?”
They smile widely at each other when they are told they are man and wife, and she leans forward and kisses him, laughing against his lips when Ivy grabs at her. Tiny fingers digging into the lace of her dress at her shoulder. Emily pulls back from her husband and beams at her daughter, taking her into her own arms. She rests Ivy on her hip and kisses Aaron again.
He places his hand on Emily’s cheek, holds her in place despite the good natured jeering from their guests. When he pulls back he keeps his hand on her face, thumb skimming over her cheek bone. He smiles as he looks at them both together, Ivy resting her head on Emily’s shoulder. He wraps his arm around Jack's shoulder and pulls him towards him, and with his whole family within reach he doesn’t think he’s ever been happier. ______________________
Once the festivities at Dave’s have ended they go back to their own house. Jack and Ivy fast asleep by the time they get home, the long day having taken it out of them. Aaron carries in Jack, and Emily takes Ivy, whispering to him that she’d meet him in their room once they’d settled the kids down.
Aaron pulls Jack’s bedroom door closed behind him and smiles when he sees light still filtering out from under the door to Ivy’s nursery. He walks in and his smile widens when he sees Emily pacing the room, still in her wedding dress, their daughter fast asleep in her arms as she speaks to her in both English and French.
“My girls.” He whispers, and it draws Emily’s attention to him, a beautiful smile on her face and a flush to her cheeks as she sees him.
“She started to wake up when I went to put her down.” Emily explains, tilting her head back to look at the baby against her chest. “Although she seems to be out now.”
“I’ll take her.” He says, reaching his arms out and gently taking Ivy, both relieved when she stays asleep. “You go to bed, love. I’ll meet you there.”
“Okay.” She kisses Ivy’s head. “Goodnight, baby.” ______________________
He helps her unbutton her dress, the tiny buttons down her back almost too small for his hands to undo. She sighs as his hand traces up her spine, loosening the dress over her shoulders. Aaron doesn’t miss how she yawns as she steps out of it, the lingerie underneath the dress briefly distracting him.
She leans back into him, smiling as he wraps his arms around her. “Hi, husband.”
Aaron kisses her temple, his smile wide against her skin. “Hi, wife.” He’s about to trail his hand down her belly, run his fingers over the lace of what she is wearing, but she yawns again and his decision is made.
He shrugs off his jacket and then his shirt, settling the shirt over her shoulders. He turns her around and does up a couple of the buttons before kissing her. When he pulls back he rests his forehead against hers. “Let's get into bed.”
Emily climbs into bed and he follows after stripping off the rest of his clothes. Aaron pulls her towards him, settling her tightly against him.
“Shouldn’t we fuck or something?” She asks, pressing her face into his neck. “It is our wedding night.”
Aaron laughs and grabs her leg, resting it over his waist. He runs his fingers up and down her thigh. “You’re tired, Em. It’s been a long day and you need sleep. We have forever for everything else.”
She hums, sleep already overtaking her. “What did I do to deserve you?”
He kisses her forehead, and gives the only answer he has for her. “You’re you.”

OK FIC IDEA:
that one au where you can hear your soulmate singing out loud in your head- but leopika
leorio wasn’t much of a singer as a child- the impoverished corner of the world he lived in didn’t have much music to sing to, either. the closest he’s got were the staticky, muffled and clipped tunes that rattled out of the neighbor’s radio. that’s why he’s always preferred listening- listening to his soulmate’s songs.
it was in a language he didn’t understand, but it was the clearest, sweetest music he’s ever heard. he memorized those humble tunes and lullabies, tracing the foreign syllables over and over with his tongue and humming the melodies nobody but him and his soulmate knew. he carved his soulmate’s voice into his mind, bragging to Pietro about his melodic partner and how he couldn’t wait to meet him.
then one day they stopped.
he found it coincidental- that it was on the same day Pietro passed away from illness. but it was fitting- it was a day where all the music and life left him.
as years went on his hopes of hearing his soulmate’s comforting tune dwindled away, but the music and the tunes he cherished so much as a boy remained, even as he learned new songs to sing to in the world around him. he’d sing out as loudly as he could, the raunchiest and most irritatingly popular songs he knew on some days, hoping offhandedly to lure the music from his partner again and hear that kind, soft voice just one more time. it never worked.
so, he swore to never sing that song, that one soft melody, until he heard it from his soulmate themself.
then he met kurapika. a guy who didn’t sing at all, and whose expression alone sang out his melancholies. his voice was prim and strict, the annoying, uppity kind that made Leorio’s blood boil, but it was familiar.
in the confines of trick tower, the topic began to stray.
“your soulmate must love your singing.” he teased.
the blond seemed to hesitate, and didn’t meet his eye. “i don’t care about soulmates.” kurapika’s voice sounded almost sad. “it would be for the better if mine never meets me at all.”
“yeesh, that’s real positive of you.”
“and what about you?” he said almost accusingly. “what do you think of your soulmate?”
“i don’t care about my soulmate, either,” he bit out, “but it’s for a good reason. mine stopped singing to me.”
“they must have their reasons.”
“which are probably as pompous and bratty as you!”
then they were back to their usual bickering. life went on, and his ambitions neared with every step of the journey he completed. their little group parted ways to chase after their own interests and dreams, and for around a year, leorio never saw one of them face to face.
then kurapika showed up on a cloudy evening, after billions and gazillions of ignored calls and texts left on delivered. they exchanged apologies and grievances and angers, embraced each other and shared glances that lasted a few seconds too long as they talked.
for some reason, kurapika had a strained look on his face when leorio began to sing the lyrics to some queen song. he wouldn’t even look at him, but leorio shrugged it off as usual angsty behavior.
they found themselves on the rickety balcony of leorio’s cheap apartment, looking out over the city.
“so, still given up on your soulmate?”
kurapika said nothing.
“well, me too, i guess.” he sighed out. “i lied to you- back at the exam when i told you i didn’t care about my soulmate. i,” he laughed, a bittersweet sound, “i actually cared a lot. it just felt easier to deny it. it’s... pretty damn hard facing the idea that maybe my soulmate really doesn’t care anymore, doesn’t want to meet me. maybe they’re gone. maybe they hate my voice or something- from what i remember, they were a hella good singer. nice, bright voice and everything. maybe they didn’t wanna end up with someone musically talentless like me. maybe that one time i sang ‘call me maybe’ in the shower was the last straw.”
and to his delight, it drew a soft chuckle from the blonde leaning against the railing next to him, arms brushing and shoulders touching. his hair looked like silver in the moonlight. still, kurapika didn’t reply.
so leorio forged on.
“i, uh, already told you my soulmate stopped singing. like, completely. but i still remember the songs they used to sing. they were a huge comfort to me when i was little, when things were hard and a little bit of song was something people couldn’t even afford. i didn’t even know what the words mean, still don’t, but all i know is that they meant the world to me.” leorio glanced at kurapika with a sheepish smile. “wanna hear? so maybe you can hunt down the bastard that left me hanging?”
“sure.” his voice was scratchy, almost pained.
and leorio began gently. kindly. he was sure his accent was off- it didn’t roll off his tongue as fluently as it did for his soulmate all those years ago. but the sounds and the tune was the same- the one that he’s devotedly committed to memory, the one that he hastily wrote down on a piece of binder paper as a reminder of the comfort his soulmate used to bring, the one that he swore to never forget- it was his soulmate’s last song.
when he tapered off into absentminded humming, he realized kurapika was crying. his eyes were blown wide, flecks of magenta shimmering across the deep, scarlet hue of his irises. tears rolled down his soft, pale cheeks, glinting like diamonds in the moon’s embrace, falling on a dampened shirt that clasped trembling shoulders. leorio felt clumsy and dumb, trying to soothe kurapika, asking him what was wrong, if he was okay- then kurapika began to choke out words, rubbing away at his eyes with his arms.
“how do you know that song.” it wasn’t a question, it was a demand.
“i already told you, my soul-“
“no. you don’t understand. it’s a very personal song. a traditional song.” kurapika teared up again, liquid sadness welling up in his eyes. “it’s a song- a lullaby- that i’ve forgotten for the longest time. it’s my mother’s.”
leorio gaped, “your mom was my soulmate?!”
“no, you idiot!” Kurapika couldn’t help but laugh through his tears, beating a fist against leorio’s chest. they burst into a fit of laughter, boisterously cackling in the silence of the night, overpowering the honking cars in the streets below and the sound of their worries adrift in their heads. nothing but them existed.
kurapika’s hand remained there, on leorio’s chest, starting to clench at the fabric of his dress shirt. they were silent, for seconds, minutes, maybe hours, until Leorio’s hand drifted up to meet it, brushing gently against the soft, scarred skin of Kurapika’s slender fingers.
“i’m sorry.” kurapika whispered softly, barely above his breath. “i wasn’t fair to you. you were always trying, always singing to me.”
leorio couldn’t speak.
“i’ve been hearing your voice for years now. you and your- your stupid songs-“ he laughed out, but it sounded more like a choked sob.
leorio couldn’t breathe.
“i didn’t mean to make you lose hope. but i was hoping you would, so you wouldn’t chase after someone like me.”
leorio couldn’t think.
kurapika was leaning closer, voice growing quieter and quieter until they had to be inches apart to hear, to exchange words.
“i couldn‘t bring myself to sing. i didn’t have a reason to, not anymore. not after what happened to my clan. i noticed you stopped singing for a time, too. but it only took months before you began again, gaining more momentum with every song. i envied you and your strength.”
kurapika had started to shake, small frame shuddering against leorio’s. without thinking, he brought his other hand up to thumb away a tear that had begun trickling down kurapika’s face.
“i wanted to sing to you too, but all the songs i wished to teach you had disappeared from my memory. i was so preoccupied with my goals, that i... i began to forget the things that mattered more. what the faces of my family and my old friends looked like. what the lukso sunlight felt like on my skin, or how the grass felt underneath my feet. what the croons of a happy piko bird sounded like, or how beautifully blue the sky was on a sunny day. what my mother’s voice sounded like, what the words to her songs were, i, i-” kurapika sobbed, “i betrayed myself and my entire clan. i thought i had truly lost them and the part of myself that i swore i wouldn’t let die.”
their foreheads fell together, touching reassuringly. kurapika’s eyes fluttered closed as he spoke, body rendered as fragile as his voice, his feelings, his heart. leorio held each with careful, treasuring hands.
”i’d become a monster. a stranger in the same body i walked my home with. i thought- i thought that my soulmate didn’t deserve someone like that. someone like me.” he heaved out, chest shuddering with every quiet breath, “you don’t deserve someone like me, and i could never-“
and leorio shut that bullshit up with his lips.
they slotted together perfectly. call him disgustingly cheesy, sappy, any romantically insulting insult you could throw- but it felt like harmony. it felt so beautiful, his emotions crescendoing and his heart thrumming mercilessly in his chest as it fitted against kurapika’s. those soft, slightly chapped lips, damp from the tears that had trickled past them, felt perfect on his, like his lips were made to meet them. and just as easily as he had lost the music and life all those years ago, it was returned to him, in the form of a blond, pressed up against him and demanding for more, more, more with his mouth, hands all over his shoulders, fingers tangled in hair, breathing in each other, kissing like it was the very last thing they could do.
when they parted, leorio let himself get intoxicated by the sound of kurapika’s panting, drunk on the soft sounds that spilled past his lips like music.
”cut- cut the crap,” he breathed out, pulling kurapika closer by the waist and burying his head in his head of gold. ”for the rest of my life, stop talking. and start singing.”

So imagine being asleep after Sal wrecked you and the fish babe waking up from a bad dream and feeling... Really insecure. Like let's be honest, she's confident as fuck, but sometimes, I bet she notices the weird looks others give her and that can't always be fine.
So, imagine her thoughts spiraling away until she literally can't understand why you're even there other than letting her fuck you cause she KNOWS she's good in bed. And she wants to get up a bit and swim to clear her thoughts - but the moment she tries to leave the embrace, you make a soft, whining noise of loss and tighten your hold on her... but of course she can break it easily, and gently still. And you wake up like "whu happen? u ok?" And she kinda cries sitting on the edge of the bed.
So you immediately wrap your arms around her and snuggle into her, and when she whispers a "go back ta sleep", you just shake your head and yawn and, still sleepily, mumble. "Nuh 's long 's I can... help. Wud prfer no sleep ova sad Sal."
And you cuddle into her broad back with all you got and she doesn't push you away, instead just sighing and wiping her tears away before softly asking "Yer... yer like me fer more than sex, aye?"
"Wha- of course! Sal. You're the most interesting, charming, funny, smart, handy woman I ever met. Not to mention you have a gorgeous smile, stunning eyes and you're fucking hot in general. You're... So comfy to be around. The sex is great, don't get me wrong - but you're so much more to me than that."
And as soon as you finish speaking, she turns around and pushes you back onto the bed, looking at you above you with a deep, soft look in her eyes you can't quite place yet... So you cup her cheek and wipe a tear away with your thumb.
"You're mighty fine, Sal Moreau. In every sense of the word."
That makes her smile again... Then she lies down next to you and snuggles her head on your chest like a very tall, buff little spoon. And you hold her thee and cuddle her SO much and kiss her hair and everything until she falls asleep in your arms a while later, cradling you against her like the most precious treasure she ever could've found.
🥺🥺🥺
aaaaaaaaaaaa... I.. 🥺 This is so soft and vulnerable and beautiful and fjdkskkslaam... I just wanna give Sal a hug. Like, now.. I'm not gonna add much to this, because it is just .. fucking perfect.. but.. okay...
The weight of Sal's body on yours as you aroused from your slumber. A dark night sky outside telling you that it's far too early to be awake - a warm Sal against you telling you that you'd be far better off staying right where you were. Her deep steady breaths the only sound against the faint beat of her heart against your skin. She was comfort - in every sense of the word. Wrapping your arms around her tighter, you smiked as your felt her instinctually snuggle in closer to you. A faint smile to her lips as your fingers stroked gently through her hair. A slight ache in your heart at the idea that she had only ever been made to feel that she was good for one thing. That the multitude of amazing things about her didn't exist. You placed a soft kiss to her temple, nestling your head against hers as you whispered into her - a simple promise that she'd never go a single day, feeling like that again.
aaaaaaaaa 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 This made me way too soft djdksks thank you for this, dear 🥺💖

i haven’t officially posted my own treasure planet headcanons, so that's what this is! some of this might be ooc but i don't really care because they are fun to think about, so yeah, enjoy!
this is gonna be long so i’m gonna put it under a keep reading
it makes me so sad that they supposedly don’t keep in touch at the end of the movie, so that's where headcanons come in. Jim and Silver went thru WAY too much to not keep in touch, Silver couldn’t leave Morph without being able to see him again either (Silver literally refers to himself as Morphs ‘dad’ in one scene!!) they at least send letters or have some sort of burner phone, with Silver being a wanted criminal and all. for a while they probably just sent letters, Jim talking about the academy and Silver sending little gifts from his escapades such as a lava rock or an especially interesting coin. Jim keeps all the gifts in a box, along with the letters but if he feels especially attached to a gift, he’ll set it on his window sill of on the rim of his mirror. as much as I like the idea of Jim getting Silver a jitterbug/ladybug, realistically Silver would be the one to set the idea into motion. Jim gets a larger gift and its a little phone, made of parts that Silver could scrap together (or on he found in a shop on a traders planet), he immediately sets it up and texts Silver. it was really nice for them to talk in real time and were probably already discussing the idea, even though Silver could get caught, so Jim was really excited about it. Jim now keeps Silver updated on life events and Silver calls every now and then to tell Jim about his travels. Silver hasn’t quite figured out how to send photos but once he does, he starts sending some everyday (including some hilarious selfies, akin to what a dad would post on Facebook).
Silver absolutely visits, for a while it was very, very scarce because he was still wanted but was sneaky enough to come and see Jim every few months. he comes and hangs out at the inn for a few days while his crew is out at bars or stocking up on items for their next adventure, as well as they know better than to fight their captain on his decisions. during these visits, Silver tells Jim (and anyone brave enough to sit near them) stories about what he had seen, creatures he had encountered and wonders they had discovered. Jim tells Silver about his time at the academy, new friends he’s made and what he’s learning, including some complicated stuff. sometimes Jim even get so into it, he brings out a textbook to express his point. while Silver is pretty smart, he has no idea what Jim is talking about (because its usually math and obscure facts) and usually just smiles and nods as Jim rambles. (lol this may be me projecting my ADHD onto Jim but i have the feeling he info dumps to people hes comfortable with)
speaking of the academy, i think despite all the combat training and captaining that Jim is learning, i think Jim would be really interested in math. like a surprising amount. it would probably be difficult to start off but once he did, hoo boy he could not stop. there were some hurdles he had to face but eventually he landed in a pretty advanced math course (not the highest but still pretty up there, maybe like calculus or applied mathematics). knowing some math was important as a captain, having to deal with probability on a ship in the Etherium, but Jim was fascinated by numbers and the way they made up the world. i think he would be really interested in physics or theoretical stuff, which is difficult but i think he could do it. he probably uses his previous experiences in space to help him visualize the math, which helps a lot.
the first time Silver came to the inn, Jim practically tackled him. which was no big deal since he’s almost double Jim’s size, Silver was more worried about Sarah and what she thought of him being a pirate and all. Jim assured him that everything was ok and he asked her but Silver still felt a bit nervous. he felt like he was intruding on her territory. but while Jim had run upstairs for something and Silver stood sheepishly in the doorway, Sarah came over with a smile on her face and shook his hand. he wasn’t expecting that at all, he was more ready for a glare from the kitchen or even a talk about ground rules. Sarah talked to him about how excited Jim was (she was also kind of excited, she had met plenty of pirates and was almost as fascinated as Jim was) and how she was grateful for Silver staying in her sons life. Silver felt much more comfortable after that and they started talking too, (not sure if it would be romantic or not, it would be cute but i love them just being friends as well) they became pretty good friends. Jim loved it, even if they weren’t married or Silver wasn’t biologically related to him, he felt like he had a full family again. when Jim was busy or sleeping, Sarah and Silver would chat over coffee or in the kitchen while Sarah cooked, Silver helping. Sarah would probably rope Silver into helping her at the inn once she learns he can cook and he kind of falls into a routine. come see Jim, hang out, when Jim is busy/out, go put on an apron.
(this one is 100% projecting lol) this is a pretty loose hc, especially since it started as a joke but now i really like it. i think Jim, as well as Silver, is transgender. Jim wasn’t really expecting Silver to be trans, as are most (he passes super well lmao). i mean, many pirates were gay, why can’t space faring ones be trans? hell, Silvers crew probably has a slew of queer folk among them, if not all of them being some sort of LGBT. body modification looks like a regular thing in their world, so i think Silver has already had top surgery, whether he was planning to or not. by that i mean that i think Silver could have been injured, woke up and found that something was missing. worried he may have become more cyborg, he checked, winced and found that bandages had been bound around his chest. ‘well that's out of the way’. despite not wanting to be vulnerable around his crew, most of them if not all of them know he’s trans since most of them didn’t see it as some sort of weakness, it was just who you were. (if ya’ll are interested, i have some crew hcs like gender and sexuality but this post is mainly about Jim, Silver and Sarah)
(continuation of the trans hc) when Jim came out to Silver, there’s a moment of silence between them. in Jim’s head it was awkward, but in Silver’s, things started clicking. Jim was worried Silver didn’t understand and quickly explain but Silver comforted him, and explained that he understood. Jim was the confused one now and Silver quickly cleared that up, explaining that he too was trans. Jim was relieved, confused and surprised. he hadn’t expected that outcome but that wasn’t bad, if anything he thought it was cool. he had more in common with his adoptee-dad than he had thought. Silver now makes sure to emphasis his compliments when Jim is working, hoping to boost Jim’s ego and make him feel better. it works and Jim feels even more comfortable in his own skin. (i have another part about Silver taking Jim to get top surgery but they would need Sarah’s permission first, not that she’d say no but Silver doesn’t want to encounter her wrath xD)
i’d like to think that Silver takes Jim up on his ship, not for plundering but just to sail around. the new crew had already seen Silver in action and decided nobody wanted to question him about Jim, especially since he was causing any trouble. eventually Jim couldn’t really visit Silvers ship anymore, being a Navy officer and all but that was ok, Silver still came to the inn and Jim had his own ship/s.
Silver knows all the drama around town, mostly because Sarah hears it fro customers and then gossips to Silver about it. Silver will come in, say hello and she’ll start, he’ll probably respond with something like ‘no way, they did that?’ and then he’d listen as she worked.
when talking to Jim, Silver refers to Sarah as ‘ma’ and Sarah starts referring to Silver as ‘dad’ since they have become Jim’s collective parents, and it doesn’t bother either of them.
after Jim lets Silver get away at the end of the movie, Silver stays on his own for a while, though no one knew that. he got a larger boat, just big enough for him and he wandered planets, drifted through space, just thinking. he wasn’t sure what to do next, he was a wanted man but he also had no crew. the thought of settling down passed in his mind but he couldn’t bring himself to do it, he was comfortable in the Etherium, he would get cabin fever after a week. so he continued being a pirate, it was rough work but he loved being among the stars, exploring the galaxy. Jim knew this and didn’t want to push Silver to stay at the inn for a long amount of time but they still made it work.
Silver has little experience with children, having none of his own until Jim (i’ve seen people give Silver children as his backstory but he doesn’t strike me as that kind of guy, not that he wouldn’t want kids but he’d have to choose between family life or pirates life. that's too much for him.) the most experience Silver had was with helping people at port and with his crew, anyone young enough to need guidance and smart enough to listen.
Silver loves music but really only know sea shanties, drinking songs and some old folk music, but he can still be found singing with his crew and humming while he’s working. Jim on the other hand listens to a lot of music, especially after treasure planet. (this is assuming they have all the music we have xD) he listened to brooding teenage music before, like Teenage Dirtbag or bands likes Greenday, but now he has a few shanties on his list as well, plus some classical music for when he’s studying or relaxing. he also listens to ABBA, either because he just likes them or because his mom plays them in the inn.
Jim, Sarah and Silver have way more pictures of each other now. the inn now has multiple family photos with Silver included, Jim has a framed image of the three of them and Silver has a little scrapbook. it’s the only thing he’s ok with having on his ship, still worried about being seen as ‘soft’ (even if he is a big softie and everyone knows it).
Silver usually wears a pretty simple working outfit with his nice coat and hat but when he does want to look nice, holy shit does he do it well. sometimes when he’s dressed up he wonders why he doesn’t do it more often just for fun but then he thinks of the countless times he’s had to throw out shirts stained with blood. he would never let that happen to his nice clothes.
i really like the idea that if things had been different, Sarah Hawkins would have been a pirate, and a damn good one at that. maybe she wasn’t in this life but that doesn’t stop the occasional daydream and questions to Silver about his lifestyle. he offers to take her on his boat when he takes Jim and she hesitates but says yes in the end. Jim definitely didn’t get his wanderlust spirit from Leland. (this is a little ooc for Silver but not for Sarah, i 100% believe she would be a pirate) maybe after Jim joins the Navy, he buys a small boat, big enough for him and his mom and they go on trips where they just enjoy the Etherium.
you cannot tell me that the second Silver was out of earshot on the long boat that he didn’t cry his eyes out. motherfucker may know how to hide his feelings but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them, he’s a sucker and he knows it. when he gets more comfortable around Jim and Sarah, he finds himself getting way more tearful from touchy feely stuff. Morph being cute? sobbing. Jim called him dad? waterworks. literally anything that tugs on his heartstrings? has to go to his cabin to cry his eyes out. the first time Jim and Silver met up again, they both just started sobbing.
Silver, Jim too probably, has PTSD (sorry if i get anything wrong, i’m not sure what else to call it) to an extent. it isn’t intense to the point that he gets overwhelmed with emotions and has flashbacks (unless it has to do with his missing limbs) but he does have some nightmares and prepares for the worst in most scenarios. Jim has to remind him that the bang at the door wasn’t pirates, it was just a unruly customer and that the silhouette he saw outside was just a passing ship, not canon fire. Silver apologizes every time, despite not doing anything but switch to his sword and brace but he can’t help but feel bad for worrying them. i can’t imagine the kind of terrors he has about loosing his limbs.
Silver, when he detaches his arm, will forget he only has one hand. sort of like that video with the astronaut back on Earth, but instead of gravity, he keeps handing stuff to his cyborg hand, dropping the item and they being confused when he can’t find whatever he had. he’s just so used to it by now, he’ll even gesture with his missing hand and not realize he can’t convey what he’s doing. Jim has been asked to hand his stuff, Silver will try to grab it without look and ask Jim why he didn’t hand it to him. Jim has to remind him that he doesn’t have his cyborg arm, leaving Silver apologizing. its always lighthearted between them and they joke about it but Jim knows Silver is still bothered by it a little.

Celebration | Zhongli x Reader
Happy birthday, Zhongli💖
Length: 1.5k words
Summary: It’s Zhongli birthday and you just found out. Now you have to plan a celebration for him!
Tumblr media
Zhongli had never celebrated his birthday, he never felt there was a need to. To put it simply, Zhongli didn’t care about small things like birthdays, but he still valued life and the big picture. Though birthdays weren’t something important to him, he did value them to an extent.
The thing was, he didn’t care about them enough to celebrate his own. In fact, you didn’t even know that his birthday was today! That was, until you heard from the grapevine. Instead of being upset, you were excited to celebrate your boyfriend’s birthday.
The first thing you needed was a cake! Well… you could always bake one, but how well would that turn out considering the little time you had? So, you opted to buy a cake! Your friend Xiangling was a chef and she was also quite talented in making cakes- hopefully with normal ingredients.
Next, you would need a small place to set up the celebration. You still had yet to decide how many people you were inviting. But you were getting ahead of yourself. First, you needed to find Xiangling.
***
“Huh? A birthday cake for Zhongli? I mean I could, but it’ll take all day.” The chef informed you, making you frown. Well, it’s not her fault, you did come to her last minute.
“That’s alright! I’ll take anything you can come up with.” You laughed nervously, making Xiangling shake her head.
“Don’t worry, I know you don’t have much to work with, but I know you can do it! I’ll make the food too! Have you decided how many people are going to be involved?” You sighed and shook your head, leaning on the counter behind you. You were preoccupied with other things to think of such details.
“I’m not sure yet. I mean, I haven’t even told Zhongli about me knowing of his birthday and setting all of this up.” Xiangling nodded with a knowing smile.
“Then, why not spend this day with him? Just the two of you. I’ll cook you up a nice meal, you two can spend the day together, and cut the cake at the end of the day!” That was actually a pretty good idea and maybe Zhongli would be more receptive if you, alone, were there to celebrate something he doesn’t consider important.
“Actually, that’s a great idea! I’ll do that! Thanks Xiangling, you’re amazing!” With that, you were out of there on the hunt for the next object on your list.
The location.
Zhongli’s place was nice and so was yours but you wanted somewhere else. Wangshu inn wouldn’t do, since it was a bit far and not as private as you wanted. Eventually, you decided on your own place. As simple as it was, it was the most convenient.
So, you quickly booked it back to your place and started setting it up. You didn’t have streamers or any sort of decorations so that was great, but you made due with what you could. The least you could do was have a clean house so that he would be just a little bit impressed. Not that you lived in a junk pile.
Once your house was clean and ready for Zhongli, you moved onto your last objective.
His present.
What could you get Zhongli? Sure, the man was always low on mora but there might be something he really liked. This seemed to be the hardest decision and you sat down on the couch to think about it.
What’s the one thing Zhongli really wanted? Food? Well that was already being made but no. Maybe money? No, Zhongli probably wouldn’t want your money. What about an object? Well, Zhongli didn’t seem to have any sentimental stuff nor did it seem like he was ready to stock up on some. Zhongli wasn’t attached to mundane items like that. So what? What could you possibly get your boyfriend that he would actually like?
The next two hours were spent thinking about that but you couldn’t come up with anything. Eventually, it was time to start setting up for dinner. Xiangling has arrived half an hour early with the food.
She insisted you let her set it up while you went to get Zhongli. This way, by the time everything was ready, Xiangling would slip away and the meal would still be warm enough to eat. Well, hopefully. She always had Guoba to set something on fire.
You agreed and quickly left, wanting to bring back your boyfriend as quickly as possible. The food was getting cold.
***
“Oh, (f/n). Hello, what brings you by?” Zhongli asked with a tilt of his head. You smiled and gave him a hug, which he happily returned.
“Are you busy? I need you to come with me.” Damn! You should’ve asked ahead of time in case he was. That could’ve ruined everything you’d done today and wasted all of Xiangling’ shard work. But Lady Luck must’ve been smiling down on you.
“Not at all, where are you taking me?” He asked with little resistance as you guided him away from his home and towards yours.
“You’ll see! I have a little surprise for you!” You said, cheerfully. Your attitude always brought him joy, a type he’d never experienced before. Zhongli cherished you and if he had to lose everything in the world to keep you, he’d do so in a heartbeat.
“Is that so? Well I look forward to seeing it.” Good, because you still had to tell him you found out about his birthday and chose to celebrate him without asking. Even though it was a kind gesture, there could have been negative memories tied to said event.
***
“A dinner?” Zhongli asked as he loomed at the table that was set so beautifully. You nodded and urged he sit down, which he did. You had told Xiangling about his favorite meal, which she was more than happy to make. You also hoped the cake was in the fridge or you’d be calling her back to ask where it was.
As dinner went on, you and Zhongli talked about anything and everything. You loved spending time with him, finding yourself always feeling safe and loved around him. Zhongli had a natural calming aura, so whenever you were anxious, you went to him and your stresses and anxiety would just melt away.
You and Zhongli had been together for well over three years now. Everyday with him was a gift and you treasured every last moment with him. Sure, there were days where you couldn’t see him, but the distance made your hearts grow fonder- as the saying went.
But it was time. You had to come clean and give him his cake, then confess you had no present for him.
“Everything ok, love?” You nodded before sighing.
“Look… I found out about your birthday. And that’s it’s today. This is our little celebration, I even have a cake! I… don’t know why you didn’t tell me, but I hope it was ok to do this.” Zhongli seemed stunned but the look soon melted into a soft smile.
“Oh? I’m sorry I didn’t, but I don’t find things such as birthday celebrations necessary. They’re rather menial to me. At least my own is. I appreciate you doing this, however. Thank you. It means a lot to me.”
“W-well I have one more confession.” You said as you stood up and walked to the kitchen. The entire time you prayed the cake was inside. To your relief it was and you wasted no time bringing it out to the table. Zhongli looked over before nodding approvingly.
“This was the confession? You made me a cake?”
“Well no. Actually, Xiangling made the cake. And the food. I was busy setting things up- no. I actually couldn’t come up with an idea for a present. Every birthday should have a present. Unfortunately, I don’t know what you really want no matter how hard I thought. So, I… I failed.” You mumbled, lowering your head. You didn’t expect it to bring down your spirits this much. You could always make it up to him later and you knew that. Sadly, you still felt hurt over your own decision.
Zhongli smiled, taking your face in his hands and tilting your head to look up at him. His thumb stoked your cheek before he leaned in and kissed your forehead.
“(F/n), your presence is my present. The fact that I got to spend tonight with you is more than enough for me. The only thing I could ever want in this world, I already have, and that is you. I cherish you more than anything so simply having you at my side is the greatest gift you could ever give me.”
Your lips curled into a smile and you sighed in relief. You leaned into his chest and he wrapped his arms around you, giving you a tight hug.
“I love you, Zhongli.”
“And I love you.” You looked up at him and leaned up to kiss his lips.
“Happy birthday.”

@mixandmatchupmuses - Starter | Falling into Night Ravens College |
;;~ It was one of those peaceful days. Barbara, Shenhe, Lumine, Keqing, and Ganyu ended up meeting one another for a friendly get-together. Though it was never anticipated that in this so-called get-together they would end up in one of the strangest problems ever. Keqing as the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing found herself putting together a nice lunch at the Xinyue Kiosk.
Ganyu who was working on Lady Ning's paperwork ended up finishing early and was allowed to leave for a lunch break. The traveler and Barbara entered Liyue only to be stopped by Millelith whom bowed their heads and asked for both to meet lady Keqing at the said location.  This of course left Shenhe, the misunderstood Cyro user whom was walking around Liyue at the time to bring back food to her teacher, the one and only cloud chaser only to be asked to show up, just as the others had.
Each found themselves being asked to head to the well-known and famous restaurant in all of Liyue. Once they all showed up however Each took a seat and greeted the Yuheng. They all enjoyed a wonderful meal together talking about certain ideas and rumors they heard all across Tyvat. Though their fun, however, was short-lived. A stranger about the height of Ganyu ended up walking up to the group and interrupted their conversation.
They insistently begged for the girl's help, a child who was barely the height of the chair the Traveler sat in, was kidnapped by a group of treasure hoarders, they held the girl in a cage made of bamboo just on the outskirts of the city of contracts. And despite this being a time of leisure and fun. Each agreed to help, Treasure hoarders were the worst of the worst and they refused to sit back and watch a young child be captive.
Each of the respectful vision holders made their way to the location. though when they got there something extremely strange happened, there as no treasure thief's, there wasn't even a girl in a cage it was all .. just blank canvas world.  A strange portal Appeared behind them blocking the way out. "It's a trap!" Lumine called out before a bright light filled the area, blinding everyone at this point.
A terrible shaking began to commence as the group soon found themselves vanishing. their vision blacked out and the spinning feeling began to replace everything before finding themselves in a strange room filled with.. floating...coffins?! The Room flashed with a bright light as 5 illuminated figures laid before the front looking quite confused.
Keqing, Lumine, Shenhe, Barbara, and Ganyu all found themselves looking at one another and soon after at the room. "What... just happened?" They all said in unison. “Stop copying me.” They said again. “No you stop!” Each began to slowly stand up as Keqing and Barbara glared at one another, for copying the same words. “Stop it!” They called out together as well.
The argument came to a abrupt halt as Lumine took a deep breath. ”Ok ok enough, we have no clue where we are or why we are here, I don’t think now's the time to be arguing over who’s copying who here.”
Tumblr media
Ganyu sighed as well as she crossed her arms under her chest.  “The traveler is right.. maybe we should take the time to figure out where we are first and how in the world we ended up here in the first place..”
Barbara nodded her head as well. “We were all tricked, the person who asked to help must have been working with the abyss, I’ve heard strange rumors that the abyss can mimic others from their voice and looks.”
Tumblr media
Shenhe sighed before looking around. “So this might be a abyssal lair? I so we might want to cautious. Though this looks to nice to be anything that is involved with the abyss order.”
Keqing stood there in silence as she thought about if for a moment. “For now keep our guard up, I don't think this has to do with the Abyss but could be wrong. We should however take the proper method to figuring out where we are and how we get back, my suggestion would be go through the doors and ask for directions.”
Tumblr media
Though as these words were said each froze up as they heard the door opening up with a click.

Where the land and ocean meet
Tumblr media
(Merman!Izuku x reader)
Type: sickeningly sweet fluff.
Overview: From the moment he watched you stumble onto his beach he was enamoured by you. The more he watched you the more he fell in love and when your worlds accidently collide he only falls deeper.. and so do you.
A/n: This is day 5 of the Izumonth collab! You can find the announcement post here. I hope you enjoy!!!
You climbed down the steps of the cliff, taking caution not to slip. They were old and crumbling, steps created by nature and not man.
Your eyebrows knitted together, lips pressing into a thin line as you took on one step at a time. Sadly, they were the only way down to your little, secret, beach so you had no other option but to brave them anytime you wanted privacy.
Ever since your family had moved up onto the hills, away from the town, you had been exploring a lot more. Eventually stumbling across this private beach. It was hidden by the cliff, the sand receding into a small cave-like structure. It was peaceful, your very own pirate cove. You had been coming here almost every day since you had moved.
You had yet to tell your family about this discovery. You wanted to enjoy the solitude for a while longer before telling them about it. You were sure as soon as you told them they would also be down here every day, therefore breaking the peaceful aspect of your hidden treasure. You had thought about never telling them a few times but they would most likely find it eventually anyway.
Especially because you keep disappearing everyday for hours at a time. Someday you would have to come clean, but today was not that day. You lay down your blanket, the sun at a perfect point for it to shine directly on the beach. The heat tickled at your skin making you hum, it felt like a thousand warm kisses. You threw your bag down next to you and got comfortable.
You skimmed through a new book you had bought, though you only made it a few pages in before the idea of a nap hit you. With the sound of gentle waves rolling against the shore, the feeling of the sun caressing your exposed skin, and nobody around to disturb you, it was the perfect condition to catch up on sleep.
You pushed the book aside, making sure to lather sunscreen over your skin for the second time that day. The cold gel made you shiver, but it was still better than waking up to a nasty sunburn.
You rolled onto your stomach, using your arms as a makeshift pillow, and before you knew it you were falling into a blissful slumber.
---
“What are you doing!” The brunette asked, eyes widening, as her friend dove into the water, swimming towards shore, right where the human was.
“I just want to get a closer look! They’re asleep so this might be my only chance!” He replied.
He had been observing you almost every day since you started showing up at the beach. Usually, it was where he would come to relax, but now you had come to claim the beach as your own, unaware you had stolen his hangout from him.
Not that he was complaining, he had found himself admiring you from afar. He enjoyed watching you from behind the rocks, observing your habits, listening to you sing to yourself, and watching as you splashed in the shallow ends of the water.
He was completely enamoured by you. You were a beautiful mystery to him, and he would do anything to get a closer look.
This was the first time he had seen you fall asleep on the beach and he didn’t want to miss the opportunity. He wanted to poke around those human objects you always brought with you. Sometimes he would find you laughing or smiling, even talking! To that rectangle you were always holding. Humans were so strange, you would never catch him talking to kelp, or corals! Maybe the rectangle was a new species of land animal?
His curiosity got the better of him and despite the warnings from his friend he kept swimming forward. Her cries of worry drowning out as his eyes focused on you.
He halted once he reached a cluster of rocks by the side of the beach. He was close enough to see you better, your chest was rising and falling at a steady pace, the sun bounced off your skin in a way that made you look like you were glowing. He had never been so close to you before, his tail wagged beneath the water in a giddy manner, he could even see the grains of sand that stuck onto your feet.
He took time to admire you again, a small lopsided grin spreading across his face, accompanied by grand blush. You looked so relaxed, he could only see one side of your face but your expression was so soft, he wondered if you were dreaming of anything.
Seeing your eyes closed gave him more confidence to move forward. His tail pushed him through the water, the sand started to rise as he reached the shallow end. He pulled himself from the water using his hands, his tail dragging behind him like a dead fish.
His torso made it onto the and but he made sure his tail didn't leave the water so he wouldn’t dry up. You were so close now, he could've reached out an arm and caressed your soft skin. The thought sent tingles down his spine.
Despite knowing his friend was likely having a panic attack from behind the rocks, he pulled himself closer once again, his face finally coming up next to yours. A small part of his brain told him to go back, you could wake up any second and see him, but his body didn't comply.
He couldn't focus on the fact that this was reckless, that if Uraraka told anyone about this he would be in a lot of trouble. All he could focus on was you.
He lay beside you, head resting on his bicep as he listened to your gentle breaths. His irises traced over your face, soaking in every detail. The way your lashes brushed against your cheeks, how soft your parted lips looked. You were even more beautiful up close.
He was so deep in thought, he hadn’t realised his hand had come up to brush, stray, strands of hair from your face. His feather-like touch brushed against your skin and he felt sparks rush through his body at the contact. So many weeks of watching you from afar and falling deeper in love with you.
It had all come to this moment. If only your eyes were open, he would give anything to see your sparkling irises up close. He sighed, dreaming of what it would be like to stare into your eyes.
It's true when they say be careful what you wish for, your eyes slowly fluttered open. He wanted to admire them, they were gorgeous, shining more than anything he could have ever imagined.
But panic overtook him and without a second to lose he dived back into the water, the ocean acting as a blanket of protection.
He swam back to his friend, heart racing in his chest. He couldn’t believe that had just happened!! You saw him! Your eyes met! His head finally poked out from the water when he reached the rocks, turning back to you.
You had turned over onto your side, your breathing still steady. He sighed in relief, you had gone back to sleep.
“You got really lucky there…” Uraraka shook her head, she couldn’t understand what had gotten into him. He was a naturally curious person, but that was so reckless!! Her heart was still in her throat, and seeing him laying down next to the human, was he not thinking at all?! If anyone found out about this he would be put in lockdown. Never allowed to leave their kingdom again.
“Yeah..” He muttered, he noted the worry in his friend’s eyes and looked down. “Sorry.”
“It’s ok. Let’s just go.” She said as she turned away, she paused for a second, not daring to look back at him. “I don’t think you should come back here anymore... For your own safety. I won't tell anyone what you did.. just, please, never do it again. You know the consequences.” She said before diving into the water.
His blood went cold. Never see you again?... Could he really live with that? He turned back to your figure curled up on the sand. He watched you longingly. Maybe Uraraka was right... These feelings were getting stronger everyday, he was becoming attached to you, a human, and he didn’t even know your name.
Maybe it was best he didn’t come back. If you found out about him, his kind, who knows what you would do. That's why merfolk had these rules in place. Any merpeople found getting too close to the shores would be put under temporary lockdown, break the rules more than once and it would be permanent. By doing this he was putting his whole species at risk. He couldn't be selfish like that. No matter how much he would miss you, his first love. He had to let go. With one last glance, followed by a sigh, he dove into the water and followed Uraraka back home.
---
Warm..
Why did he feel so warm? He forced his heavy eyelids open. A goan bubbled in his throat as the sun blinded him. The noises of yelling seagulls and crashing waves filled his ears. Was he on a beach?
His brain raced as he tried to remember what had happened. He remembered going to hunt for food with his group, a shark attacked them… he used himself as bait to distract it so the others could swim away to safety. It fell for the bait and chased him for what felt like hours, he swam as fast as he could, Echoed thoughts of dying entered his memory. After all, not many of his people went up against a shark and lived to tell the tale. He remembered swimming closer to the shore, hoping the shark would be dissuaded from following him into shallow waters.
He had almost reached shore but as he looked back to see if the shark was still there he swam head first into a rock, and everything went black. There were no memories left after that, just black, a feeling of cold and then another of warmth.
"Are you awake now?" A melodic voice asked from beside him. He turned his head only to be met with your worried eyes. His heart leaped into his throat, he wanted to reply but the words got caught. His mouth went dry, eyes widening as he struggled to decide how to feel about the situation..
Should he panic that a human had seen him? Or be happy that the human was you?
It had been weeks since he had last seen you, staying true to his words and keeping away. It pained him so much, his heart constantly tugged him in your direction, but he had to fight himself every step of the way. He had to keep his people safe.
But now, here you were! Talking to him!! You had seen him! All those weeks of torture seemed pointless now! Izuku rushed to push himself up from the sand but his body rejected the quick movement, pain striking through his head, he let out another groan. Your hand placed onto his chest and pushed him back down. "Be careful, you're hurt." You scolded softly.
When he lay back down his head didn’t hit the sand as he intended, but instead something that was a lot softer. He turned to see the strange material you always lay down on, it was folded over a few times, and he had to admit, it was quite comfortable. He felt the waves rolling against his tail, he wondered if you were the reason his gills were still being fed water or if it was just by pure chance.
Despite being intrigued by the soft object beneath, he couldn't forget about you. His heartbeat quickened again upon meeting your eyes. He gulped. You looked surprisingly calm for a human meeting a merman for the first time. He always figured if you two ever happened to meet you would be all over the place, questions spewing from your mouth as you paced back and forth.
You saw his eyebrows knit together, he probably had a lot of questions. You weren't even sure if this creature would be able to understand your language. Technically he was half human, so it was worth a shot. "I found you here, knocked out on the beach, I think the shore washed you up, you had a few cuts on you, but other than being knocked unconscious and a bump on your head, you're ok."
You smiled and he felt hypnotized. That smile he had admired from afar for so many months, the smile he had missed every day he was away, he was finally able to see it up close. It was as if fate was rewarding him for taking on a shark.
Your eyes were beautiful too. He had spent most of his time noting every single detail about you, but seeing you up close gave him a whole new perspective. You were even more gorgeous than he had thought.
"You're not… surprised?" He asked. You giggle as if he had said something funny. "I was at first, but you've been knocked out for about 3 hours now. I had time to process it while I was waiting for you to wake up."
3 hours? He had been unconscious that long? He was going to be in so much trouble when he got back home. As much as he knew he should leave this beach right now and never return. He couldn't find it in himself to want to move. Not because he was in too much pain, but because this was the first time he was able to speak to you.
The human who had captured his interest as well as his heart was right in front of him, taking care of him, smiling at him. Maybe he was dead after all and this was just his version of heaven. He smiled at the way the sun hit your face. You were an angel roaming the sandy shores. "You stayed here with me that long? Thank you!"
"Well, I couldn't just leave you washed up on shore alone now could I? Besides, the chance to talk to a real mermaid! No way would anyone pass that up!" You chuckled.
Midoriya sat up. His head still stinging from the pain, he felt a little dizzy but overall ok. Merfolk tended to heal pretty fast, by tomorrow this injury would be completely gone, so there was no need to worry.
He bit back a smile. He was just as excited as you were. Maybe it was selfish but he trusted his instincts, you didn't seem like a bad person at all, he had observed you for months, even if you had never had a conversation, he knew you. He was there when you helped that crab out of the plastic it had gotten stuck in and when you went around picking up all the washed up trash on the beach. He knew you were a kindhearted person, he wouldn't have fallen in love with you otherwise.
Without realising he let out a dreamy sigh, his eyes trailing down your body, not in a sexual way, more out of curiosity. His eyes landed on your legs, they were on show as usual. He smiled, they looked so weird! You had two of them and those weird things attached to the bottom. Toes? He recalled.
You smiled at his reaction to your legs, lifting one up for him to see. "I guess seeing them must be unusual for you?" He nodded. He used his hands to pull himself forward, his tail dragging behind him, staying in the water. He didn't touch them since he didn't know what kinds of boundaries humans had. Merfolks tails were pretty sensitive, only to be touched by a mate! Maybe it was the same for humans and their legs?
"They look so complicated, there's two of them and they look like they have so many parts. It's like having two tails with ten extra tiny fins on the bottom." His eyes sparkled as he got to admire them up close. You laughed at his analogue, wiggling your toes for his own entertainment. "I suppose that's one way to look at it."
He sat back up until he was level with your face. It felt like the closer he got the prettier you became. To test this theory he absentmindedly brought his face close to yours. You shrank away from him, averting your gaze from him. Maybe it was normal for merfolk to inspect people like this? Or maybe he was just curious about seeing a human for the first time. You didn't want to push him away and hurt his feelings but feeling the tip of his nose against your cheek made your nose scrunch up. You could smell the salty ocean water on his skin.
He pulled back a little, noticing your body language. you turned back to him now you had some space. You looked into his emerald eyes, they shone like jewels underneath the sun's light. He was very good looking, no doubt, but that didn't make the close proximity less awkward.
"So- uh. Do you have a home?" You asked, your voice wavering. Thankfully he sat back, leaving your personal bubble alone. He looked out to the sea and nodded. He did have a home, and if he wanted to stop his family and friends from getting worried he would have to leave soon. They might think the shark had killed him and pronounce him dead. He didn't want to put his mom through that.
"It's getting a bit late and you should probably get back home before the sun sets." You warned him, you had already been here for hours while taking care of him. Your family were going to start getting worried too. So much for your daily relaxing beach day.
Instead it had become ‘nearly fainting upon finding an unconscious mermaid on your beach’ day. You chuckled as you remembered the feeling of your legs giving out from under you and collapsing into the sand. You had never felt so many emotions in one go, doubt, shock, worry, confusion. What a day it had been. You were sure no one would believe you if you told them what happened, not that you were planning on telling anyone anyway. You didn’t feel like being laughed at or mocked.
Despite the sun sinking below the horizon, both of you had yet to make a move to leave. Instead you opted for sitting in an awkward silence as you waited for something to happen. Each of you desperately wanted the other to ask them to stay. You wanted to know more about him and merfolk, to understand this phenomenon. And he wanted to stay so he could get to know the human he had fallen so hopelessly in love with.
He bit his lip, couldn't let you go, not now he finally had you back! "I'll come back!!" He blurted out without thinking. His hands quickly came up to cover his mouth. He couldn't believe he had just said that! What made him think you'd even want him back?! You didn't know who he was! Now he sounded desperate and creepy! Why did he have to be so stupid. Not to mention how frowned upon it was by his people! What if he had just put them all at risk!
"Really!?" He watched as your eyes lit up with joy. You looked ecstatic. His heart melted seeing how happy he had made you, his worry slowly faded. That smile was because of him, and it felt really good knowing that. He nodded, he couldn't find it in his heart to take it back after seeing you smile. His head turned away, the thought of this becoming a regular thing had made the blood rush to his cheeks.
"I'll be here again tomorrow then! I'm here almost everyday." You didn't need to tell him that, he already knew your schedule, not that you could have possibly known that. "I'll see you tomorrow then!" He smiled with a nod, though, still, made no movements to leave. He sat admiring you for a few seconds longer before hesitantly turning and crawling back into the water.
He had to remind himself that this wasn't the last he would see of you. He would see you tomorrow, he would get to talk to you, see you smile again. Once he was far enough out he dove into the water and swam away. He resurfaced by the same rocks he always used to admire you from behind and looked back to see you waving at him. He brought his hand out of the water and gave you a small wave in return, his face sporting a love struck grin.
Before he knew it, the days were flying by and turning into weeks, then months. No matter how tedious the journey to the beach got, he never missed a day. Even if he could only be with you for 30 minutes, he took whatever he was given with a smile. Every second with you was worth it. He lay awake at night, on the sandy ocean bed, thinking about you. How you talked for hours and it never felt awkward, how one time made you laugh so hard you snorted. You were so embarrassed but he thought it was the cutest noise in the world.
He even loved those moments you both lay in silence, listening to the waves crash onto the shore, and watching the sunset, as seagulls danced in the sky. He remembered one time, you lay so close to him your hand accidentally brushed against his. It sent electricity through his body, just like the first time his hand made contact with your skin. It was too bad you pulled away before he could intertwine his fingers with yours.
He continuously convinced himself he definitely would have taken your hand in that moment had you not pulled away so quick.
His tail flopped against the waters edge, you sat beside him, eyes sparkling with passion as you explained to him about the concept of art and photography. “Capturing a single moment in time forever?” he repeated with a hum, bringing a hand up to his chin in thought. He thought over the concept, sometimes they would carve pictures into rocks but it was a hard and grueling task so not many people took to the hobby.
You used your phone to snap a picture of him before turning the device to his eyes. He gasped, grabbing the phone from you so he could get a closer look. “Whoa! That’s me!?” his lips parted, “.. Do I really look like that?” He tilted his head, one cheek puffing out. You giggled, there probably weren’t mirrors in the ocean. Was this the first time he’s been himself? “What’s with that expression?”
He shrugged, tilting the phone in his hand as if it would make him look better. “I’ve only seen myself in the reflection of the ocean, but the ripples make it hard to get a clear image.." he leaned closer to the phone, eyes narrowing, "My eyes are really big...” He muttered, pressing his fingers to his eyelid. You snatched the phone from him, He wasn’t about to get insecure on your watch. “Well, I happen to think you have beautiful eyes.”
He sucked in a harsh breath, his cheeks dusting pink. “Y-You do?” He asked, his voice wavering as he spoke.
You nodded. “By human standards, you’re very good looking. So don’t be putting yourself down!” You scolded him softly while putting your phone away. His fingers dug into the sand, the grains lodging underneath his fingernails. Hearing you say he was good looking, that you thought he had beautiful eyes, his heart couldn't take it. His clenched up in his chest, stripping him from breath. He gulped, hoping you wouldn’t see how hot his face had gotten.
“Oh! I actually wanted to ask you something!” You turned to him, eyes wide with curiosity. He nodded, urging you to go on as his hands played with the sand. “Well, Ever since i’ve met you you’ve been able to understand me. How come? You say you’ve never met another human? So how can you speak the same language?”
He shifted in his spot to get comfier, hoping to relax his tense body. Your compliments were still ringing in his ears, boosting his ego. “Well, from what’s been told from generation to generation, merfolk came first, humans evolved from us. I’m not the first merperson to talk to a human, there have been many. At one point, almost all merfolk were doing it, we were all friends! We learned your languages so we could communicate better! But that… was a long time ago.” He frowned, a shadow sweeping across his eyes. “Things went bad, our people started being hunted, disappearing never to return, those humans wanted to hurt us. Now we have rules in place, we’re not allowed near humans, we hide our existence, which is easy since humans have only discovered about twenty percent of the ocean.”
“You’re not allowed near humans!?” You repeated, jaw dropping in the process. Izuku let out a breathy laugh, though there wasn’t much humour to it. “Yeah… everyone at home always tells me I have a dangerous curiosity. I guess they’re right since technically… I shouldn’t be here..” He looked down at his tail splashing in the water, his eyes remained distant for a moment before he shook his head. “Even if it's frowned upon, I don't regret the time we've spent together, In fact, I treasure ever second.” He smiled, looking into your eyes so you knew he wasn't lying.
You turned your head away from him, unable to fight the smile coming onto your lips. “I’m Glad you don’t, my life has been so much better since i’ve met you and i’m not just saying that because you’re a magical, unknown creature from the depth of the ocean.” You joked and he giggled. “Even if you were a human like me… It wouldn’t change a thing. I like you for who you are, you make me happy.” You admitted with a red cheek. Now it was his turn to hide his face, his cheeks pushed up into a smile. “You make me happy too.” He replied, the giddy feeling in his chest made his tail wiggle with joy.
Everyday he spent with you felt like he was on cloud nine. He got to admire every little detail about you, how your eyes sparkled when you talked about something that you were passionate about, how your nose crinkled at things you didn’t like, how you mimicked him without even realising it by splashing your feet in the water next to his tail. He loved hearing about human culture too, something his people had become greatly disconnected with. He was surprised to know about all the creations humans have made over the years. He was slightly jealous you had so many machines to help you do tasks with ease.
You brought him human food and he brought you ocean treasures. He shared just as much about his people as you did about yours. He trusted you, You had both created this unspoken bond together. He was falling deeper and deeper in love. His connection with you rivaled that of the ocean, if he was ever given the chance he would leave the sea behind and choose to be with you in a heartbeat.
The sun began to set over the horizon, leaving a painted reflection on the water's surface. Like everyday, before you both left, you sat and watched the sun set. It was silent, peaceful, not a word spoken between you two as you found comfort in each other's presence. The familiar sounds of waves crashing against rocks and seagulls yelling from the skies were enough for you both, you didn’t need to speak.
Izuku turned to you. Catching the way the orange glow of the sun reflected on your skin, how your hair danced in the gentle breeze. There was a content smile on your face making his heart leap into his throat. He wondered if one day he would be able to look at you and not feel like his heart way about to implode.
He wasn’t sure what overcame him but the need to confess his feelings grew stronger the more he stared at you. Maybe it was the serenity? Or maybe it was how breathtaking you looked? It just felt like the right moment. He cleared his throat, ready to speak. “Y/n.. I. u-uh-” When you turned to him his body froze, words lodged into his throat. His breathing became rapid and choppy, his hands gathering sweat.
“Yeah? What's up? Are you ok?” You tilted your head, worried about this strange behaviour. He looked like he was about to pass out, or throw up, maybe both?
He suddenly shook his head and with the speed of a cheetah he crawled forward and dove into the water. “Nevermind!! I’ll see you tomorrow!!” He yelled not leaving any room for you to reply as he began swimming away as fast as his tail could manage, not daring to look back. When he submerged under water he slapped his palm against his forehead, teeth gritted together. “I’m such an idiot.”
The next day, he swam back towards the beach like he was in a marathon, he was desperate to apologise for his weird behaviour yesterday but his friends had started prying into where he was rushing off to. Out of all the days for them to get nosey and interrogate him, it had to be the day he was going to apologise to you. He was worried you might be upset at him for rushing off yesterday, and now he was going to be late too!? He could only hope that you would wait for him.
Izuku looked back a few times to make sure they weren't following him. He wasn't the best liar in the world. He'd never had to lie to them before, so he wasn't sure he had convinced them that he wasn't doing anything special. He told them he was just going for a swim with the dolphins, but they didn't look convinced, his body language gave him away.
He hated lying to them, it felt awful! But he knew they wouldn't understand your situation. You were safe to be around, there was no danger. Upon his second visit to the beach you promised not to tell anyone, in fact, you had no interest in telling others about your find. You knew what humans were capable of and you promised to protect him from any harm. You cared about him and he trusted you with his life.
But the others would never see it that way.
As the waters got shallower he moved up to the surface, eventually his head poked out, locks of green hair being pulled down by the water, covering his eyes like soaked curtains. He remembered the first time he had poked his head from the water in front of you. You laughed, claiming he reminded you of a "wet dog." Whatever that was.
Using his hand to brush his hair back from his face he noticed the vacant beach. There was nothing but foot imprints left in the sand. He slowly sunk back into the water until it was just under his eyes. "I missed her…" his words creating bubbles in the water.
He turned to leave, but he noticed your bag was there, partially hidden behind a rock. He swam forward towards the shore. The footprints looked like they trailed around the cliffside, disappearing once they reached the rocks. He dove back into the water, much like a dolphin, and swam around the rocky terrain. He resurfaced to see if there were any signs of you.
He sighed in relief once he saw you. You hadn't left early after all. You stood at the edge of an abandoned pier. Most of the wood was chipped away as if someone had taken a hammer to it. It creaked with every movement you made. Though you didn't pay any attention to it.
You turned upon seeing the green hair poking from the water. You waved, getting ready to turn and run off the pier. He sighed, at least you didn’t seem upset with him about yesterday.
You barely finished taking one step, when the wood beneath your feet cracked. Your sporadic movements didn't agree with the feeble pier. It felt like it happened in slow motion, your body fell, disappearing into the void of water below.
He didn't have time to think or react, his body dove forward as soon as your body fell. His heart sunk along with your limp figure, his hands outstretched as if that would get him to you faster. A cloud of red enveloped your head, mixing in the blue of the water. He would have panicked if not for all the adrenaline coursing through his veins. All that mattered was getting you back to safety.
He finally grabbed you, his arms looping under yours as he pulled you back up to the surface. When you hit the open air, you didn't make any movement, your body floating lifelessly in his arms.
He shook his head, the worst case scenarios started eating at his anxieties. He had to get you back to the beach. He moved you behind him, pressing you onto his back and looping your arms around his neck. He grasped your wrists tightly as he shredded through the water with the strength of a speed boat.
In a matter of minutes you were back at the beach. He placed your body safely onto the sand before he pressed his ear to your lips, there was no breath. With no hesitation he placed his lips onto yours, the water filling your air way came back up, filling his mouth. What a nasty feeling it was, but if it was to save you then he would ignore it. He pulled away and spat out the water onto the sand beside him.
He was in no way good at healing, especially not humans! He could only thank Poseidon that he was graced with the ability to use water magic, it may have just saved you.
His calloused hand pressed against your cheek, turning your limp head to him. "Y/n.. please.. please, wake up." He pleaded helplessly. You let out a cough, excess water dropless leaving your airways. You were breathing again, but your eyes didn't open.
The red blotch of sand under your head brought attention back to the other problem. "Oh god.." he looked around, his stomach was churning. He had to stop the bleeding!
His eyes darted around for a solution, eventually landing on your bag. He used his arms to drag himself towards it. He began rummaging through for anything he could use to stop the bleeding.
He found a spare shirt, he let out a breath of relief, this would stop the bleeding for now. He took the material and ripped it apart into strips, hoping you wouldn't be mad at him for destroying your shirt, but it was for a good cause. He moved back over to you, his hand cradled your head, holding it up. It was only a small wound, thankfully, it wouldn't kill you as long as he stopped the bleeding. He examined it, he didn't want to bandage it without cleaning it first. He grabbed your bag again, and found a water bottle. He remembered you telling him about how humans didn't like salty water. He didn't really understand why but it was probably a safer bet to clean it using your human water than his ocean water.
He tipped the bottle over the wound, water washing over the cut, drenching your hair in the process. After he was sure it was clean enough he bandaged it up with the cloth, making sure it was secure.
Even after he was done, he never let you go. Rather, he held you tighter. One hand cradling your injured head as the other arm went around your waist. He rocked you gently, holding you against his chest. He was breathless, his mouth was dry as his heart thumped against his ribcage. He was more scared now than when that shark chased him all those months ago. The panic of losing you was worse than anything he had ever felt, and losing you to the very place he called home no less. It sent shivers down his spine.
You let out a groan, your arms shifting in his hold. He looked down and his eyes met yours. You winced in pain as you moved. "Careful, don't move too much. I've got you." He brushed hair from your face. Your half lidded eyes looked up at him, dazed and confused. "What happened?"
"That pier you were on broke. You fell into the ocean, must have hit your head on the way down too. You almost drowned." He explained, his face twisting into worry again.
To utter shock, you smiled despite the obvious pain in your eyes. "You saved me?"
"O-of course I did!" He exasperated as if it were the most stupid question anyone has ever asked him. He felt your hand come up and brush through his damp hair, much like he had done to yours a moment ago. "I guess we're even now then." You chuckled, he always made such a big deal of repaying you for helping him when he was washed up. Being out of the water for too long would have dried up his gills, and that would have suffocated him to death. You had saved his life, and now, he had saved yours.
"Ow, shit, this really hurts." You pressed your fingers to the cloth around your head. Izuku helped you sit up, steadying you when you swayed, you had lost a lot of blood, he was worried you might not make it home on your own. "You should really go to the housepetal." He was only trying to help but when you laughed at the suggestion, his shoulders deflated.
"I think you mean hospital." You corrected him. "Oh." He giggled along with you, finally understanding. "But you're right, I should. I'm just not sure I can make it up the cliff right now. I feel so light headed."
He shuffled closer, despite you sitting up just fine on your own, he was ready to catch you if necessary. He was not going to let anymore harm come to you.
"Is there any water left?" You asked him, he reached over for the bottle that he had used to clean your wound. There was a little less than half left. He gave it to you and you hastily drank it all down.
Once finished you let out a satisfied gasp before discarding the bottle into your bag again. "Feel better?"
"Not yet. Soon." You replied, tilting your head forwards as if it would help get the blood back to your head any quicker. He watched your movement, his tail gently splashing against the water's edge to stop himself from drying up.
His eyes skimmed the back of your head, where the wound was. His mind went back to seeing your lifeless body sinking into the ocean's darkness as a cloud of red engulfed you. It was something he never wanted to see again, though the memory was well carved into his brain at this point.
He hated to admit it, but for a second it crossed his mind that you might have died. That he hadn't been quick enough to save you. Holding your limp, unbreathing body in his arms had shaken him to his core.
You hand accidently grazed against his on the sand, pulling him out of his swirling thoughts. It was just like that day a few weeks ago, when your hands brushed against his for the first time, but this time he didn't hold back. You went to pull your hand away but his larger hands encased it, pulling it back towards him. You gasped as your hand was snatched from you, his skin felt so smooth against yours.
He looked deep into your eyes. "I have something to say." He'd never looked so serious before. You gulped, nodding for him to go on.
He inhaled through his nose, his fingers subconsciously squeezing yours. “Before you found me washed up on shore.. I used to come here everyday." He started, pausing for a second but you didn't make any reactions, just waited for him to go on.
"My friends and I used to spend a lot of time here but then we had to go away since a human found our cove, but I found that-... I couldn't leave. I was so enamoured by you,  and... I slowly started to fall in love." He heard you sucking in a breath. "Then, I finally got to know you, I fell more in love than ever before! Seeing you almost drown, thinking about what would've happened if I hadn't been there. It made me realise…" he looked away, out at the vast ocean that separated his world from yours. "What we're doing right now, seeing each other everyday, it might not last forever."
He hated admitting it outloud, he could hear his heart breaking it two at the thought of being torn away from you again. Thoughts of you moving away, someone else finding this beach and ruining your secret space, one of you could get hurt, he could be put in lockdown. There were so many possibilities that were running through his head. "I just wanted to tell you how I felt. I want you to know how much you really mean to me. I'm in love with you. So whatever happens in the future.  Please, always remember that."
"You think too much." You whispered without missing a beat, your expression unreadable through his eyes. "We're always going to find a way to be together, no matter how long it takes. We'll always find our way back." You whispered, your fingers shifting in hand to intertwine with his.
"How do you know that?" He asked, his eyes were full of doubt but you seemed so sure of yourself. You pulled on his hand, yanking him forward until his nose brushed against yours.
"Because I love you too."
His eyes widened, he sucked in a breath as your lips moved closer to his. He could hear his heartbeat echoing through his ears like the beating of a drum. Your lips finally made contact with his. He inhaled through his nose, your lips were so soft, softer than he could ever imagine them to be. His lips quivered under yours, shaky breaths exhaling from his nose. He tried to keep up with your moving lips despite the lack of expertise. You smiled into it, putting a hand onto the back of his head, patting down his hair and like putty in your hands, he relaxed.
You finally pulled back to see his flushed face. He brought up a hand to his lips? pressing his finger tips to them.  "A.. kiss?" He breathed out, looking at you with half lidded eyes. He smiled, shuffling closer so he could sit side by side with you on the beach. His arm came to your shoulder as you curled into his side.
You were right. As long as you loved each other, there was nothing that could tear you apart. You would always find your way back, and you would always have a shared home where the ocean and the land met.
Bonus:
Izuku kept pressing his fingers to his lips, eyebrows knitting together. "You really haven't had a kiss before have you?"
He shook his head, "Well, merpeople show affection in other ways is all.. but that kiss felt so good.. I wonder why we don't do it more often?" Even if he was speaking out loud it felt like that last part was a question meant for himself.
You tilted your head, "Well, what do you guys do to show affection?" You asked, curiosity getting the better of you.
He smiled and turned to you, genuinely happy that you had taken an interest in his species. "I can show you if you want!!" You nodded, curious to see what he would do.
He moved closer to your face, aiming for your cheek. His tongue rolled from his mouth and as it got dangerously close to your skin your leaned back, face turning red. "AHH! WAIT! NEVERMIND! I DON'T WANT TO KNOW-"
