the way thalia’s tree LOOKS like a person who has been turned into a tree is destroying my soul
like thalia was turned as she was facing down the monsters, taking her stand in order to let luke, annabeth, and grocer get to camp.
and the way this scene is shown, the trio is leaving camp, so thalia was facing chb as she got transformed. she was watching her family get to safety, and probably didn’t see the monsters who were coming upon her. she was transformed knowing that her brother and sister were okay.

original thief series basso & garrett :)
ngl, it's about quality over quantity for me. an npc can have a total of three minutes of screen time, but if they have a cool name, they can live rent free in my head and I'll spend several hours trying to decipher drawable features from a blurry screenshot of pixels
there is a vague hint of a story here, and that's because every time I try to play thi4f, I get incredibly frustrated with how Not Fun the game play is. like, is the story good? well. but it has a PLAGUE. that should've given it instant 'I'll replay this once a year' status in my heart, but the game play sucks so bad that I've never finished it. I can't believe Not Fun gameplay beat out my obsession with narrative plagues.
anyway, the idea is basically if the original era had a game with a plague centric narrative and some other stuff I liked out of thi4f thrown into a narrative blender, with a heavy dash of horror thrown in because some parts of the thief games were scarier to me than entire dedicated horror genre games.

why does the pjo series have to unnecessarily villainize goddesses (hera & athena) or show them as silly ladies (aphrodite & demeter) BUT posiedon and apollo are somehow shown as the coolest/most likeable gods, even though arguably, they're right after zeus on terms of corruption?
ares shown as the worst god after zeus and hera amuses me. last time i checked, he was the patron god of amazons and literally killed a man for attempting to rape his daughter but guess who cursed women for rejection? apollo. guess who raped women when they said no (aside from zeus)? posiedon.

But Ibis’ murder and Terry’s subsequent breakdown over taking a life does raise certain questions about Callum and Rayla going forward in two key ways, respectively. [...] This is also where Callum’s parallels to Terry gets particularly interesting as well. The Dragon Prince repeatedly frames murder in the face of self defense (specifically in defense of someone else) as something that removes agency. Thus, that begs the question of what Callum’s test will be, specifically: What will he do to protect his loved ones, perhaps Rayla in particular?
—Why Clauderry and Rayllum's parallels in S4 set up Callum doing something terrible for Rayla in S5, written a month and a half before S5

have you ever asked someone for mosquito bite cream?
does the phrase "mosquito bite cream" take too long to say?
say "squito sauce" instead!
*side effects include: your parents not understanding what you mean, repeatedly saying squito sauce in random situations cuz it sounds so fun, and death!

tsc proving that neil has Percy Jackson Narrator Syndrome:
like, we spend an entire series in his head with front row seats to his private meltdowns, his anxieties, his "I know I can't win this fight, I'm nothing, but I'm willing to die for my friends"
and then we get ONE (1) side character perspective and it's all. "this kid is feral. he's insane. there's no WAY he even SPOKE to- he made a bargain with Ichirou?!? fuck. he's casually ordering mafia hits while sipping a thai tea. he's terrifying. good god."

so what about droid23 who are fuckin creepy. droid23 who are just this side of the uncanny valley. droid23 who are almost perfect replicas. they're plastic and shiny and new with sitcom-perfect smiles and they're just so darn good at being normal that you almost forget to think hey, did paul and emma always act like that?

“That’s a bold choice, Dalek Supreme, coming to a wedding planet dressed in white! Unless you’re here to get hitched… should I be flattered?”
“We are here to exterminate you.”
“Oh, that’s probably for the best. Not sure River would be up for a marriage à trois… not with a Dalek, at any rate.”

I'm fairly certain that Loki's story in the MCU is done in terms of character evolution, but I do think he was situated in a way that means he can pop up effectively anytime as a plot device whenever writers need one (and I'm fairly certain Tom will always be down for a cameo). Which is interesting with Young Avengers obviously being lined up.
Like imagine Loki being somehow instrumental to forming a second team of Avengers, but this time the intent and context is completely different. Not a villain to rally against, but a god guide though time and space? The irony of it, the circularity.
