Teya!!!!! I miss writing for her! Of course I can! Thank you for the good vibes, been feeling blegh lately~ but this little drabble made me smile! 😋

honey in your tea

Teya never drank tea. In fact, she preferred coffee. The bitter bite of it on her tongue, rousing her from her sleep and preparing her for the day. It reminded her of home - at least, what she remembered of it. The jungles of Seheron, lush green canopies dappling sunlight onto her cheeks. At times, she missed it. She missed the way the humid heat of the island made her hair curl, missed the other Tal-Vashoth who cared for her until she could make the journey to her new home. She didn’t drink coffee anymore, and yet she didn’t miss it.

Sera smirks at her from behind a tree, waltzing closer as she sees the Qunari frowning into her cup.

“Don’t like tea?” Sera asks, chuckling. “Me neither. Yuck”

“I wish I did. I could use it right about now.” Teya sighs, placing the cup down as Sera finds a seat next to her, wrapping her arm around Teya’s waist. 

“It’s better with honey. Got any?” Sera suggests, reaching over and tugging open the flap on Teya’s pack. She rifled through Teya’s belongings, pulling out bandages and herbs gently.

“I thought you said you didn’t like tea, Sera.” Teya laughed softly, clapping her lover on the shoulder.

“Yeah, but you need it. And I know it’s better with honey.” Sera continues her search for honey, getting closer to the bottom of Teya’s pack.

“I do. All those damned bees you asked for, we have way too much. At this rate, we’ll need an Inquisition Beekeeper at Skyhold.” She gestures to a side pouch, and Sera pulls out a container of honey. It was almost crystallized, but it was honey nonetheless, golden-brown and sweet.

“There. That better?” Sera plops a dollop of the honey into Teya’s tea, swirling it around in the cup before handing it to Teya. She sips gingerly, expecting the familiar earthy, herbal bitterness, but is pleasantly surprised by the sweetness of the honey.

“Yeah. Thanks, Arrows.” Teya leans over to press a kiss to Sera’s forehead, but finds her chin pulled down and her lips met by her lover’s.

“Welcome, Magey. You taste like honey now, ‘s nice.”

The aesthetics of all my OCs are wildly different and I just love them so much!!! I had a bunch of thoughts and needed to write ‘em down so here’s some pairing aesthetics!

Vel and Varric are busy taverns with clever names serving cheap, shitty ale; ink-stained hands dripping color onto each other’s skin. The sound of coins clinking on well-worn tables, backs pressed up against doors. They are confidence and ease. They are knowing.

Ari and Bull are bloody hands and war paint, the rhythm of the drums like the thumping of still-beating hearts torn from the chests of gods. They are instinct and desire, ripped sheets and heated kisses. They are primal.

Nehri and Solas are an endless, flat sea - magnificent and green, the calm after a storm. And yet, they are the storm. They are the wind in the trees, the howling of the wolves on a frigid winter’s night. They are omnipotent- they are divine.

Ash and Dorian are the softness of marble in the hands of a master sculptor, humid summer evenings soaked in wine and sweat. They are the soft touch of silk, a high-cut collar angled dangerously upward towards the heavens. They dare to defy. They are rebellion.

Teya and Sera are terrible jokes and toothy grins, the cool touch of a sharp blade against the skin. They are the lights in the city on a foggy night, and the danger lurking behind every shadow. They are blasphemous - They are irreverence.

Cassia and Blackwall are honeysuckle blossoms and lamb’s wool, the crocuses peeking through the snow in the first warm days of spring. They are the calloused hands of laborers, the courage of soldiers, memories of hardship never to be forgotten. They are virtue - They are righteous.

Let’s be real for a second-

If all my Inquisitors met, it would be absolute pandemonium.

Vel and Cassia would be sitting eating cheesecake or something, talking about their beloved husbands/partners and (VERY QUIETLY) discussing their favorite romance novels, arranging Cassia’s copy of Swords and Shields to be signed by Varric. There’s a lot of giggling and whispering between them, and it unnerves everyone else(who think they’re plotting world domination by cuteness.)

Teya and Ari would cause an absolute scene going back and forth screaming compliments at each other. Ari's “You’re fucking MASSIVE! Creators, what the fuck! I love you!!!” and Teya's “You’re so fucking LITTLE it’s ADORABLE!!! Literally what the goddamn!!! You’re perfect!”. The ‘Qunari in love with an Elf’ club is tight-knit

Ash would be standing in the corner next to Vel and Cassia, hesitating to talk to Nehri - because she’s interesting, but definitely looks like she could kill a man with a single glance. He would be sipping on a glass of wine watching Teya and Ari yell compliments at each other, highly amused.

Nehri would be outwardly disinterested, but secretly she would be desperate to join in the conversation. But she doesn’t want to appear too eager, cause that would blow her ‘disinterested mysterious forest witch’ persona that she carefully curated for exactly this situation.

Then it would most likely devolve into a drinking contest, in which everyone bets on Teya and loses - because Mithari Isena Syrillon-Lavellan can put away booze like it's her only purpose in life.

Physical Description: Teya stands, tall and imposing, at 6′9″. She is absolutely ripped, with washboard abs and thighs as big around as a human man’s chest. She has medium brown skin with cool greyish undertones and black, loosely curled hair falling just past her shoulderblades(though usually braided tight against her head for convenience in combat). She has bright yellow-gold eyes, somewhat similar to Morrigan’s.

Clothing Style: Teya likes a good ornament. She has golden caps for her horns which she keeps for special occasions, matching them with rich red and gold tones in flowing dress robes and harem style pants to compliment her complexion. She prefers to keep her style mostly androgynous, and wouldn’t be caught dead in a corset or skirt. You get the feeling that most of her outfits could convert to armor at a moment’s notice.

Background

Teya had an isolated childhood. She never really got to interact with other children, let alone other Qunari children. She spent much of her childhood studying and training to become a warrior under her father’s tutelage, until her magic manifested. She was kept safely away from the reach of the Circle and Templars, learning to wield and control her powers in a comfortable environment with her mentor, a Tal-Vashoth known to her only as Atash. As a consequence, she is quite skilled in managing her own emotions and keeping herself in check rather than trying to suppress her magic at all costs.

Once she grew older, she joined up with the Valo-kas, and worked as a mercenary for many years before the Conclave.

After the Conclave, shit hits the proverbial fan for Teya. She doesn’t want to be a Herald. She just wants to get back to what’s comfortable for her - minus the Mages and Templars killing each other. But she relents, realizing all the people assembled in Haven and eventually across Thedas look to her for an answer, for a sign she was sent by the Maker. Inspired by their faith, both in her and their Maker, she agrees to become Inquisitor and see through the defeat of Corypheus and the restoration of order in Thedas. She becomes not only a ruler to be feared, but one to be loved as well. Her soldiers look to her for inspiration and guidance, and find peace in her kind, tender, tranquil disposition.

During the course of the Inquisition, Teya meets Sera, a Red Jenny. From the get-go, Teya is attracted to her - not only because she’s cute, but because of her cynical personality and lighthearted antics/pranks. Gradually, they learn more about each other and decide that maybe a relationship would be a step in the right direction. Then, surprisingly, they fall in love - truly. Deeply. Stupidly. But it works for them. A Bumblebee buzzing around in the Buttercups.

After the events of Trespasser, down one arm but up a wife, Teya and Sera stay on the road together, retiring to their estate in Kirkwall when it suits them. They eventually come across a lone Mabari on their travels, and take him in - Teya names him Wiggles. He becomes the most spoiled and beloved dog in all of Thedas.

Combat & Skills

Preferred Fighting Style: She prefers to hang back, preferably behind Bull or Cassandra(the only people who can effectively block blows because she’s ridiculously tall), only occasionally coming to point to close rifts and hit demons and Venatori over the noggin with her staff.

Favorite Weapon: Her staff. It’s driftwood, sanded down with various bits and bobs hanging off of it at odd intervals. A large purple crystal is nestled at its tip, in the middle of a forked branch. The gnarled wood of the staff reminds her of home.

Magical Abilities: She’s a mage, so, lots. 

Special Skills: Not anything noteworthy, although she, unlike most mages, can actually fight with her fists. She just chooses to use her magic because it’s easier for her.

Relationships

Family: Her parents. She has no other family, unless you count Sera and her Mabari, Wiggles!

Love Interest: Sera
