i am having So Much Fun with so many of the things that i'm writing but currently one of my MOST favorite things is jamie and phoebe's dynamic in the dear phoebe gift fic. i have banged pots and pans about their narrative parallelisms before, and i shall continue to bang them until everybody understands. they're so! THEY ARE SO!!!!!!

At that very moment, as if Jamie’d heard her and chosen to be contradictory (another word Keeley had taught her, specifically in relation to Jamie in fact), the doorbell rang. “I’LL GET IT!” Phoebe hollered before her Uncle Roy had the chance, shaking the water off her arms and dashing for the front door. She no longer had to lift on tiptoe to reach the doorknob—a fact which filled her with immense pride every time she remembered it—which gave her the maximum momentum necessary to launch herself into Jamie’s arms the minute the door was swung wide enough for it. “Hiya, Pheebs!” he said cheerfully, hooking his hands beneath her armpits and spinning her around once. “Oi, you’ve grown since I saw you last.” “You saw me last week, Jamie,” said Phoebe, gravely. “I can’t possibly have grown since then.” Jamie set her on the ground and took a step back, tapping one finger to his chin in deep thought. Then he wagged his head back and forth decisively and said, “Nah, you’ve definitely grown. Gonna be taller’n me soon enough.” “Well,” said Phoebe, “you’re not that tall anyways,” and delighted in how he stumbled back, hand pressed to his heart, a wounded noise croaking out through his lips in a silly, squeaky way that reminded her of a mouse.

hi kitty <3 i have two 1975 movies for u: grey gardens & adoption!

grey gardens is an odd little gem of a documentary about aging socialite edie bouvier beale & her mother. they live in an old house with lots of cats, where they fight, sing, & wear fabulous outfits!

adoption is a hungarian movie with beautiful acting & cinematography (the visuals reminded me a bit of persona actually). the story is also very moving & just feels very authentic.

big fan of arnold pumpernickel rye i always get the pepperidge farm kind growing up but the arnold kind is sooo much better

If she stares for long enough without blinking, that figure seems to manifest behind her, towering far over her vanity’s mirror. The longer she stares, the closer it approaches. It seems to lean down, one phantom hand settling on her head, the other reaching for her right hand. A silver dagger made of light and blue skies seems to manifest in its hand, not pointing at her heart or her throat, but moving as if to place it in her hand. And Zelda, heart racing, can only continue to stare as its phantom presence seems to grow, and grow, threatening to engulf her whole if she doesn’t—if she can’t—

Zelda blinks. The figure behind her is gone. A hand comes up to the top of her head, trembling slightly as she smooths down her hair.

I loooove the beach because I so rarely am at the beach. It's always so special, whether it was rainy, or even a metre of snow o.o yes, that was interesting lol. Looking out into the sea, hearing and feeling the waves splash - 🥹✋It's a special place. Now I'd like to have a walk on an empty beach during the evening. Seifer kneels down to the tide pool on the edge of his beachside home, scanning the various low-tide puddles in search of his lusus for the last time. After a quick moment, his eyes lock onto the little creature wiggling about to get his attention.

With a snaggletoothed smile, he reaches into the pool, pulling his parent into his cupped hands with the motion. As he lifts his lusus, he speaks in hushed tones, nervous and eager in equal parts.

"It's finally time, tomorrow I enter the fleet. This'll be the last time we see each other..."

The nudibranch lusus swims in a small circle in some form of acknowledgment that only Seifer can understand.

"I'll miss you too, but I think it'll be good for me. I'm tired of being lonely and directionless, you know?"

His lusus begins to glow faintly and it makes Seifer chuckle quietly.

"Besides you, yeah, I always had you- and thank you... for everything. Be safe, alright?"

The beast bumps its little head against his hand and slowly stops glowing.

"Love you too."

With that, Seifer gently places his now former lusus into a bigger, nicer tide pool, waves goodbye, and makes his way back hive for last-minute preparations.

Roy’s heart doesn’t leap to his throat. It seems to simply…vanish, get swallowed between one breath and the next, implode upon itself like a dying star and leave nothing behind but empty space. He can’t feel it anymore; can’t feel the rush of blood in his ears as he starts to run, ungainly at first and then faster, faster, muscles aching, stomach pounding. Jamie’s small and he can’t go very far on his own yet but he’s got the advantage of time, and as Roy watches he slides a bit further down the slope courtesy of the damp slick of rain before climbing back to his feet and continuing on. “Jamie!” Roy yells, the name tearing from his chest so fiercely he wouldn’t be surprised if it left a hole behind. “Jamie, fucking—Jamie, stop!” But Jamie doesn’t stop. He doesn’t even turn around.

hmm reading the entirety of lotr aged 11 definitely did something to me. the combination of that/generally how many audiobooks i listened to, and how much time i got to spend biking around the woods when i was a kid, and my little sister being born when i was 8 are probably the three things that id call out especially. forests and books and being an older brother

talking of my little sister... shes really into the self care app thingy called finch at the moment and me and will both have accounts so they can be friends with hers and she draws our finches having adventures together and it's very sweet. her build a bear axolotls are getting lesbian married and she's crocheting them both wedding outfits. ugh already asking the hard questions, aren't you.. i guess i would say that at least my longer stories are quite well thought out, i try to give not only my main characters, but also my important side characters arcs and important stories to tell!

definitely listening to music lots and just sharing ideas with friends, asking for their opinions, and just reading a ton as well 🥰
