What are you hoping they do with Kip going forward in the next few months?

if they could just fucking feature him consistently in the programming and not once every month and a half that would be a great start ngl

but ideally they would do something with kip and ospreay, even if just to put them in a match together for starters. they obviously have a long history together and are friends, plus we could easily have it mean something a bit more with kip holding on record more wins over will than will does over him, so. thats a start. but ideally when will blows this whole don callis family thing apart and hopefully takes aussie open from them, we can then tack kip along with that and call it a day 💜

Ok I would love to (in as non-spoilery a way as possible) hear more about your Strahd character bc I am VERY intrigued

Hehe okay. So her name is Namya, she’s half human half dusk elf. She was a university student/life cleric, until one time when she was visiting her mother (the dusk elf, never met her human father), an assassin broke in and attacked them both. She was able to kill him, but not before he had killed her mother. Right before she died, Namya’s mother pointed to a map saying that that’s where her people come from (which is, surprise surprise, the valley of Barovia). Namya also finds a note on the assassin’s body that was an order to kill her and her mother written by Rahadin (one of Strahd’s main lieutenants).

So she hires a bodyguard and enters the valley to try to find out more about her past, especially as she quickly finds out that it’s supposed to be impossible for someone to leave the valley, but somehow her mother did. And obviously she wants revenge. Cue meeting other party members (one of whom is the bodyguard), many shenanigans, death saves, and cool moments, (and also ending up becoming queen of the dusk elves), and now we’re nearing the final confrontation with Strahd.

And then at the very end of last session the GM dropped a huge bomb on us of my mother showing up….,. As a vampire. So yeah idk how I feel about his cliffhanger lmao… especially after I almost died while having my epic face-melting revenge on Rahadin… xD (plus my GM gave me some spoilers about how this whole vampire thing happened with her which is CRAZY and I still don’t know how Namya will react lmao)

But yeah! It’s been very fun. Also I call it my “dads game,” because literally every other player and also the GM himself are dads, and then there’s me xD (basically the GM’s dad wanted to play a game again with people, so it’s him, my dad, and a mutual friend’s dad, then my friend the GM, and one of HIS friends. And me ^_^)

Opinion poll: should I remove the AOS tag from my fics?

Since I'm already in the process of overhauling my ao3 works--

We all know my fics are written about the TOS characters/timeline/universe. I've long tried to maintain ambiguity (e.g. not mentioning Kirk's hazel eyes) for AOS fans on several of my stories that I wanted to think/pretend could be read as either universe/cast, but... there are still details that differ between the 2 universes and will always distinguish them from one another whether I intend to make a distinction or not. I use "sickbay," "synthesizers," and "landing parties" instead of "medbay," "replicators," and "away teams." I never refer to New Vulcan or a second Spock. I almost never have Kirk cursing, and he is Not Blond in my fics (I usually describe his hair as brown with auburn highlights because that occasional tendency of it to look almost red in certain scenes on the show has always been weirdly important/meaningful to me as a redhead 😞).

All that said, am I just part of the larger problem of incorrect tagging now? (i.e. trying to keep potential readership as wide as possible but thus refusing to acknowledge that dialogue alone is usually enough to make TOS irreconcilably different from AOS, among other things) Especially now that, to say nothing of the disparities between TOS and AOS, we also have Str@nge New Worlds and Disc0very involving their own actors and versions of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, et al (and their own new f*cking-around with canon, from what I hear 😒 not bashing or shaming, I'm just old and set in my ways), I've lately been feeling that perhaps I should just bite the bullet and admit to everybody who Might be a potential reader that no, my work really probably isn't interchangeable with AOS (or any of the other new series) and is just TOS-specific.

As much as I don't want to alienate folks who are okay with both timelines, I admit it would feel more honest and it would certainly look "cleaner" to have all my fics be uniform. And how many readers would I even be sacrificing anyway? Anyone who gets into anything I've written can likely very easily tell within the first few paragraphs that I'm biased toward TOS anyway, and if that's not their cup of tea I assume they just turn back.

Any thoughts out there? 🤔
