im wild all the way no question. i crave living with my pack in the remote wilderness, hunting for our own food and making our own clothes, practicing our traditional customs, openly using canine body language and vocalizations to communicate, shifting under the full moon without having to worry about being caught by humans, all of it. if it were possible for me to live like that right now i'd do it in a heartbeat. interestingly enough i also used to be very judgmental of tame wolfbloods (even before i learned what therianthropy/otherkinity was) which is also very on paar for wild wolfbloods lmaoooo

as of right now i mostly just consider myself to be a wild wolfblood forced to live a tame lifestyle (think like s2 jana), which is fine it certainly has it's perks, but at my core im very much so wild and always have been ⏾⋅𐬹

I hope we get crinegfail Alastor moments in season 2. I feel like he’s managed to get the audience to see him the way he wants to be seen and not the way he actually is (deeply performative attention hungry loser with attachment issues)

LITERALLY. 90% of this guy's intimidation factor is built on his reputation and little flashy power displays alone, and much like vox i think he covers up vast chasms of loserfailure with a grin and a clever attitude and everyone just BELIEVES HIM. i want him deconstructed bit by bit, crushed under the pressure of his own mounting instability and the unwanted intrusion of Found Family worming into all the little cracks in his armor until he can't tell apart his masks from his self. i want everyone to see him for who he really is when he isn't performing and then shock him by still caring about him anyway. i want him DRAGGED kicking and screaming into authentic connections with other people. or else i want him to get exponentially worse until he violently self-destructs and ruins everything. works for me either way

I'm interested in your thoughts on the wounded bird conversation. Specifically, what was happening in Will's mind while he was talking with Bedelia?

Yay, some of my favorite dialogue! I have more ideas about this than anyone could ever want or need, but here's a condensed version:

When deciphering Will's thoughts in this scene you can either think about it from a completely in-universe perspective or embrace Bedelia's role as the show's Watson. Personally, I love the way she flips between character and all-knowing hannigram interpreter, so I'm inclined to take Will at face value during their therapy sessions.

The wounded bird conversation is one of the only vestiges of a concept that fell by the wayside during production but that I find fascinating: Will wanting to save Dolarhyde (x, x, x, and the first quote of x). So I like the interpretation that Will is thinking about Dolarhyde/Hannibal. It's a satisfying callback to the chicken snake scene in Shiloh, if you've read the book. And it highlights the contrast between Will and Bedelia at that point in time: he's willing to help some killers and she's willing to kill some innocents. But people without my level of brainrot probably think the wounded bird represents victims like Abigail or the red dragon's families. Or maybe even foreshadowing for what Will does to Chilton. Will might be thinking about all of the above at different points in the conversation.

The other thing that gets me about this scene is how easily Bedelia brushes off the idea of Will being a killer. Everyone else in his life is (rightfully) suspicious of him or makes jokes about his criminal mind. Even Wally is quick to draw the connection between Will and Dolarhyde ("You shouldn't put this guy in a mental hospital, you should kill him"). Bedelia is the only one who scoffs at the notion, and it surprises Will. I guess police violence is small beans compared to the kind of murder that gets her off, so fair enough. Still, I like how she's the last person to draw a distinction between Hannibal's influence and whatever is left of Will's original self. And Will desperately wants to believe her, because he needs to distinguish himself from Dolarhyde.

My in-universe answer would be more like: Will is no thoughts head empty, completely focused on making catty little jabs at Bedelia while learning whatever he can about Hannibal lol. And then she starts talking about birds and he's like ??? Oh, so now you're telling me to kill people. Great.

10. What do you think the Changeling’s story was really about?

OUGH this is a tough one😭 okay here's what I think. All of pathologic is, in a way, about sacrifice right? or about its inevitability? the way i see it, pathologic presents you with a question (though i still can't really say what it is) and lets you approach that question from two different angles (the bachelor and the haruspex) arriving at two different conclusions.

The changeling route feels a bit like a victory lap, in that you get a bunch of lore about characters that you didn't have access to as the other two healers. I think I'd say it's more about human sacrifice, like in a more personal way.

Daniil manages stuff in big numbers right? Like setting quarantines and the morgue and whatnot, and then just investigating. Artemy basically spends the whole game searching for a panacea, and in the second half deals more with the kin and his place in it. But Clara has to drag herself out of the dirt, she goes personally to interview people, she gets the worst of both worlds. The townfolk don't trust her and the kin want nothing to do with her. She learns by touch. To get her ending, you leave both the polyhedron and the town standing, but the sacrifice to do so is a lot bigger, in a different way. Not to mention that, to even play as Clara, you have to have beat the game once already, which we all know is not an easy feat.

I'd say the sacrifices you have to make in the utopian and termite endings are more impersonal, and then the changeling route comes at you out of nowhere on day 10 with having to sacrifice most of your bound, even though at this point you've been wih these characters for at least a couple dozen hours.

I guess right now I'd say the changeling route is about the sacrifices that regular, day to day people have to make in order for things to work properly, and how those often are forgotten when talking about societal issues in broad, abstract ways. I'm going with that [*answer might change at any point]

17. Which character do you see yourself befriending IRL?

Honestly as much as i love them, most of the cast seems like they'd be insufferable irl!🥰✨️ I'm gonna go with grace bc i'd love to offer her a warm meal and a bed

yeah uh, i have a bad case of americanization where most media that i've consumed over my childhood is american copaganda (CSIs, Criminal Minds, Cold Case, The Mentalist, that one writer guy from the stuttering gif) so when i had to give a physical setting for Ryan and Agnes' story, i naturally gravitated towards the US for it lol. surprising (in a bad way) how i know more about US crime than my own country's...

If you could change one thing about Keefe, anything at all, what would it be?

Honestly I don’t think I would want to change anything about Keefe. His flaws and mistakes are what makes him my favorite character. It adds depth to his character.

What I would like to change though is how Sophie deals with his flaws and mistakes. I want her to call him out more. I want her to stop brushing his mistakes off. I want her to hold him accountable for his actions. I noticed the other characters tend to do this more than her (barely but still) but it doesn’t impact how the readers view Keefe because they’re not the main character. Sophie being the main character creates this sense of control over the narrative and her opinions, feelings, and thoughts are what readers will tend to go with.

So if Sophie were to just stop going easy on Keefe and really just let him have it then I think that would be pretty awesome!

oh absolutely!! here we go

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

First off I love his Masters design, it looks so cool. I love the half mask and peacock-esque coat. I also find the concepts Jack is based off of really interesting! Love an unhinged artist. I feel like he had so much potential as a villain and a character. Team Starbreaker as a whole is just such an intriguing cast of characters when you think about the circumstances they're in and what pushed them to become who they are in Metal Masters.

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

Hmm. I'm putting him in Pokemon I think he would fit right in there. He would absolutely have a Smeargle and a Grafaiai.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

He gets featured often in gallery shows post Masters. I know we don't see much of Jack's art aside from the way he carves stadiums, but I think his favorite mediums are sculpting and oil painting. I think he's really good at painting animals specifically.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

YAALON AND JACK ALWAYS we love oc/canon in this house. the two of them have a very important story to me. but also the fandom shipping chris and jack was very fun too i miss those guys.

for big adventures (not that i have those very often!) i usually take Mischief

he's the most adventurous of all my plushies and likes going new places and seeing new things, so sometimes that helps me be a little braver too. here's a silly photo of him on the plane with me the last time we flew

i haven't been adventuring much recently due to some medical stuff, but pretty soon i'm going to be having a very big adventure and picking whose gonna come with me is very hard
