Ch 1 | The Piteous Life of Dr. Stevens’ New Wife
Killmonger AU
Created By: Erikftglitter

“Hey Dr. Stevens. It’s Kari. I just wanted to thank you again for the kind gesture.”
Erik read the message several times before exuding a deep sigh. He had spent most of the night trying to forget the younger woman, but the universe was setting him up for failure.
She’s practically in our hands, Erik.
He wanted to silence the overbearing thoughts from flowing but he couldn’t help but to also think that it was true. Didn’t he deserve the woman and kids that Kari, and so many others, mentioned to him before? Did he really want to commit to dying alone in a world like this?
“No need to thank me Kari. Thank you for not contacting the board about our collision.”
Erik found himself humored with his own response. Little did he know that Kari was gushing from the desk chair that she was texting from. Could this be? She wondered if the doctor would really be interested in seeing her again. Well, seeing her under normal circumstances.
“I won’t…. Only if you allow me to be your tour guide.”
Kari was persistent, inexperienced, but persistent to get the ex-SEAL out of the house. She surprised herself with her forwardness but the clock was ticking and her local blue-collared men were no where near as appealing as Dr. Stevens.
“A man of my word, that I am. Saturday?”
Erik needed to be strategic about his decisions moving forward if he wanted this woman to live. His self deprivation was starting to take a toll on him. He knew that it wouldn’t take long for it boil over once Kari was in his presence.
Just thinking about the girl’s astonishing aura and utter beauty made Erik’s dick jump yet again. What was it about her? He thought back to the initial moment when they locked eyes. She could not maintain eye contact and that certainly enamored him. He could spot a submissive woman quite easily.
Not just someone who was infatuated by the idea of being dominated by him, but someone who was completely meek. Someone who would be most compliant tied up and fucked to the state of oblivion. Kari Evans radiated that. Erik was 99% percent that his declaration of the girl was correct but he’d be patient enough to find out.
“Yes. Wear comfy shoes.”
Erik was more than pleased to return back to work. To focus on a ruptured appendix, or to remove someone’s gallbladder, or even just to guide one of his residents through a hemorrhoid surgery, supplied him a reasonable amount of distraction time. During surgery his main focus was his performance efficiency. Dr. Erik Stevens did not kill patients. One of the reasons the he remains one of the highest earners in the nation is due to that. Erik knew his limitations and typically did not engage in anything that would kill anyone, inside and outside of the operating room, post departure from the Navy.
“Dr. Stevens. Got a minute?” Erik glanced up from his seat at the computer and signaled for the man to continue.
“I was looking over Mrs. Gutierrez’s files, the one who was just transferred, and she’s rejecting the transplant.”
Erik’s face fell into a deep frown. In only his three months at Oregon State Hospital, he’s noticing the consistent errors being completed by the competing hospital. Once their team botches a surgery; Erik and his team are left to clean up the mess.
“Another transplant this soon would kill her before the week ends. Contact her family and consult about the removal. If they wait then the sepsis will spread.”
Erik looked at the extent of the damage on the results that his resident provided. He’s not completely successful just because of his own experience. Thankfully Oregon welcomed him with a skilled team upon his negotiation and he was provided with them when he arrived. He wasn’t fond of many people in his life, but some of his team made his job rewarding.
“Great call.” He murmured to himself. He learned from his mentor, that learned from his mentor, and so forth, that praising young professionals too early made them arrogant. Made them incompetent surgeons who overlooked misplaced sutures, mistreated nurses, and failed to remain at the peak of their performance. The younger surgeon reminded him of himself. That was as respected as he could be.
Kari on the other hand was not having a good time. One of her middle schoolers thought it was a great idea to climb a tree and ultimately suffered a great fall. Why? Kari didn’t have the time to asks as the girl was soaking blood through her jeans.
With trembly hands, Kari used her walkie talkie to call for an ambulance and tried her best to soothe the hysterical girl.
“It’s okay. I got you.” Kari must have repeated that a thousand times before the first responders arrived.
“Ms. Evans. Nina will not cooperate unless you ride with her.” Principal Grant said to Nina as she stood up to disregard the abundance of bloody tissues.
“Don’t worry about the sub plans. The parents would like if you accompanied her as well.” He gave her an empathetic look. “Thank you for being one of good ones.” He whispered when Kari was helped in the ambulance by the first responders.
It was true. Kari was an extraordinary educator. Each of her students were individualized. She knew their strengths, allergies, their personalities, and their ability to learn. Because Caber City’s public school system was barely funded by the state of Oregon, most of teachers were underpaid. Most teachers married rich and taught for a hobby. The students rarely got the opportunity to experience a memorable relationship with education, but Kari made it her mission to change that.
Because she was young and unmarried with a strong sense of change, she was immediately disliked by her coworkers. She grew to pity their lives instead of watching in sorrow. Her students had the highest grades, standardized test scores, and overall success. That was no coincidence and it didn’t go unnoticed. If Kari wasn’t good at anything else she knew that she was a wonderful teacher. Years of watching and modeling her grandmother instilled that in her. She remembered her everyday.
“What’s going? How’d this happen?” Kari met the frantic parents as soon as she arrived at the hospital.
“During her lunch hour she wandered off to a tree and fell several feet from the ground.” The gasps from Nina’s parents troubled Kari. She hated bad news and bad things in general.
“I’m very sorry that this happened. I’ll go now, but I wanted to ensure that Nina was safely taken to the hospital.” Kari spoke again. Not really sure what else she could provide to these poor girls’ parents.
Nina’s mother spoke again. “Thank you for riding with her. She hates hospitals and probably would have passed out if she had to go alone.” Even though the shakiness, Kari understood every word. These were the moments that made her restless nights worth it.
Kari reached her hand to Nina’s mom, and looked at both parents, “She’s a very sweet girl. They’ll take great care of her.” With her final comment she began to frantically rush out the hospital herself. She hated hospitals just as much. With the amount of dried blood on her own clothes she knew that it wouldn’t be long before her own panic attack started.
Kari didn’t care about who she was running past, she just knew that she needed fresh air before she began to hyperventilate. The memories of finding her own grandparents in pools of blood haunted her. Drunk drivers collided with their car and drove away, killing both of the people who raised her.
“Kari?”
“Oh shit. Kari. Breathe.”
“Breathe.”
Erik took in the scene in front of him. There was no way this was yet another coincidence. This was going to be the one that one that Kill was going to play with.
With guided breaths and some gentle touches of encouragement, Kari was able to control her breathing. She’s not sure when she realized that it was Dr. Stevens she had been talking to, but at least it saved her the embarrassment of passing out in the middle of the road. She hadn’t thought about the fact that she was in the doctor’s proximity.
Between the wails of her student and the acquisition of her own trauma, she didn’t have much time to think about Erik.
“It’s alright Kitten.”

I’m going to start running an old school dungeon you linked to a few days back (the Tomb of the Serpent Kings, it looked so neat and well-designed I immediately started preparing to run it) with an online group in OSE.
You have smart and good thoughts on how to do ttrpgs good, and I have been mulling this question for a few days: should I use Foundry and set up the map of the dungeon such that the players can move their tokens around to explore the space, or should I not set up the map and have the players use my descriptions to create their own as we play?
On the one hand, it feels more true to the old-school style of play to not give them the “Solution” to how the dungeon is laid out and gives them the chance of fucking up in interesting ways. On the other hand, I might be using foundry anyway so that their character sheets are all stored in a nice and easily accessible place for me, and we can roll in a way that everyone can see, meaning that not setting up the map in an explorable form might just be arbitrarily denying them access to knowledge it makes sense they’d have. Also I’m worried that random internet or attention issues might lead to people missing important information about the layout of rooms that won’t be as lost if they have an “objective” map to look at.
I’m planning on bringing this up with my players as well before we begin, I just thought you’d have some good insights into what makes a good experience when playing old school online.
Love your posts.
I think there absolutely are benefits to both approaches! Having the players draw their own map absolutely is more true to "the old ways," but I think it's actually arguable whether that was simply due to it being the easiest way to handle the sharing of the map without saddling the GM with further work and that in the current day, with our ability to transfer maps directly from one computer to another, it might not be worth the hassle. And because verbal communication is bound to be flawed and ambiguous between people there is always room for human error there.
Now, having said that, there absolutely is a draw to having the players draw their own maps, which is that it acts as a tiny bit of challenge on top of all the rest of the gameplay. As long as you the DM make sure that your players aren't fucking up too much when drawing the map (I think Foundry allows for players drawing on the map? So that way you could observe the map-drawing process and immediately correct any mistakes that are definitely due to miscommunication) there absolutely is a charm to having players draw their own map. Plus, I think OSE has the rule that mapping is not allowed during pursuit, which I think does also reinforce the idea that mapping is supposed to be a TOOL that players use to keep themselves oriented, and it's a tool whose use can be limited as befits the circumstance.
I don't have a set approach to this myself: I have, in the past, run old-school games while sharing a map, and that isn't without its issues but can make for a smoother, frictionless experience. @vixensdungeon is of the opinion that adventurers getting lost because they fucked up their map is a part of the charm, so in my current OSE campaign I have made it so that players handle most of the mapping (and I only intervene when verbal descriptions fail me). One thing you absolutely do need to address if running with a map that you reveal: you need to remove all secret doors from the map, because if you reveal an entire room to the players but leave one wall conspicuously unrevealed your players are going to be spoiled the surprise of the secret door by the medium itself.
Anyway, I don't think there is a one true way here, but I would encourage you to try having the players handle the mapping! It's a good thing that you'll be discussing this with players beforehand though, and it'll be a good way to set expectations for them. :)
Also, another person drawn in by the promise of cool dungeon-crawling by my blog? Can I get a huzzah?

Hii!! After mizu graduates college, what type of job do you think she'd have? Would it have to do with sports or maybe something way different? (I absolutely love your writing and headcanons !! 🩷🩷)
modern!mizu post-college life headcanons
tags: post-grad life, engineering mizu, stable work life, a woman in stem, moving in with reader, basketball with mizu, mizu join fencing club, peaceful post-grad life (the dream)
a/n: ngl the thought of post-college life is tripping me out,,, im a junior in college rn and the thought of it just kinda doesnt?? exist?? also ive heard too much info from my friends' rants ab their engineering degrees and switching majors from mechanic to electrical back to mechanical engineering,, theyre fucking nuts
modern!mizu would prob be in the engineering sector of jobs
wooo stem baby (i am a digital marketing major i should not be talking)
bc hello?? money???
also let’s use that mechanical engineering degree to good use
she didn’t leave home for nothing
with her technical skills from eiji
modern!mizu would probably be a CAD engineer
CAD aka computer aided design
technically speaking, it would allow her to work from home or hybrid
and she can easily transfer her mechanical and on-hand knowledge to a digital format
like she’s smart yall
she just got some troubles w procrastination
but dont we all?
(coping so hard)
this job would also allow her free time and flexible hours to do her job
and i feel like modern!mizu opts for a good work-life balance
if she wishes, she can take the day off snd just go out with u or go to the gym
the freedom of choice while staying comfortable at home?
sign her tf up
she can have her tea time, gym time, spending time w u time, and her self care time
the self care in question: enjoying the silence
and realistically, its a well paying job thatll keep her and u afloat while helping eiji financially if need be
modern!mizu hopes her work and smarts can help her provide for others and herself
its ab time she doesnt let herself depend on a man for money
yeah thats a fuck u to u, m*k*o
shes made the mistake once
shes not gonna make it again
just bc postgrad modern!mizu isnt in sports doesnt mean she’ll stop playing
she needs to get her exercise and movement some way some form
basketball with taigen
and always aim for the three-pointers
and is successful most of the time
and then proceed to aim for the half court shots
and fail most times
fencing with eiji whenever shes back home
she’ll def try to teach u
and its fun at first but
she wants to stretch her wings out
modern!mizu would prob join a fencing club
it would be a great for her to fully practice and spar
not just against her old man
or go soft w u
but also go against ppl her age
modern!mizu would move into a place w u
nothing grand but a small apartment where u could refresh and build the place to be ur own
ringo is a good friend
a true best friend she could trust
but it was time to move in w u
and not be wary of ringo hearing u when he comes home
modern!mizu would be more adventurous in hobbies
yeah she has basketball and fencing and her tea collection
but now she has a stable job
no need to worry about grades
and just to live life one step at a time
she would probably try out pottery with u
definitely practice her cooking with ringo's and ur help
all in all, a very patient life
(she deserves it)

I don’t regularly use my switch lite because I’ve got an OLED monitor now and it’s better for migraines. I’m pondering hacking to get more use out of it though, (and maybe add accessibility features?), would you say it’s worth the trouble?
It seems there's an homebrew app called Fizeau which allows for better control of the switch's screen, which i think would help a lot
For other accessibility i can think of:
game mods, which there might be some mods to make things more accessible, i'd look around, sometimes these can even be run online without being detected, but be careful
MissionControl, allows your switch to use a lot more controllers which arent designed to work for the switch
and i cant really think of anything else. for me the most i got out of switch hacking is
being able to rip game files (not required but so much easier)
a proper activity log
extracting save data so i can See It and do things with it (like the leanny gear seed checker)
ftp and usb file transfer so i can easily move screenshots i took to my computer or phone
The thing is that the Switch Lite is a patched console, and you need a modchip to get it to work. A Picofly lite is like 10 bucks, but it requires microsoldering and some tools which you likely dont have. it's also not a good idea to do it yourself if it's your first project doing something like this, it needs some practice beforehand. if you dont "know a guy" getting it done could cost about 100 USD.
for the people who have an unpatched switch, there's barely any trouble, it's a 3 dollar shitty RCM jig, it's pretty easy.
but for patched switches you have to decide for yourself if it's worth it or not.

(remaking the post because you can't edit polls and i gave the wrong options)
Alright I'm registering for classes and someone needs to talk me out of doing stupid shit but I'm unsure of what shit is stupidest.
Winter term:
I just finished an 8-week photo class that ended up being a huge investment in time just to go and shoot. However that was introductory photography and there is a 6-week intermediate photography class over winter term. I am signed up for photography. (Elective option for AA in Visual Arts)
There is also a 6-week introductory python course over winter term that I am signed up for and will be taking. I'm solid on that one, as long as I pass my C# class this term I'm going to be taking Python for 6 weeks at the beginning of the year.
Spring term:
College Chemistry Saturday class. 7am to 12pm for sixteen weeks. Lab and lecture; this school doesn't offer any chem classes that are after standard 9-5 hours during the regular week or that can be taken even partially online. Pretty sure I'm going to be stuck with this one and am configuring the rest of my schedule around being *less* miserable because of this class.
Survey of Western Art - Online, seems like a gimme. Does have a textbook but not one that I'm going to pay for. (Required for AA in Visual Arts)
2-Dimensional Design - Online, seems fun and like a gimme, Free/No textbook. (Required for AA in Visual Arts)
Object-Oriented Programming - Online, seems difficult, expensive textbook. Will probably be very necessary if I end up going down a more CS/tech path. Probably going to force myself to take this class.
Java Programming - Online, seems not unapproachable, expensive textbook. I don't particularly wanna but my school offers really limited options for computer science and I want to get what I can out of it before I go somewhere else.
Rationale for these weird combinations:
I'm applying as a nursing student at three schools and a biochem student at one of those schools (nutrition programs are apparently only for first-time students; 2nd Bachelor's applications are a lot more limited. I could apply to major in Francophone Studies at one of the schools though). Supposing I get accepted, these classes certainly won't hurt my status at any school that accepts me and the chemistry class is going to be really really necessary. This is the "i give a fuck about nutrition science and also directly helping people" path and if I go this way I'm interested in NP programs down the line. LOTS more school of the serious "I can't work and do this kind of school at the same time" variety.
If I *don't* get accepted to the programs I'm applying to, I'm going to go to a different community college and start working on a couple of AS degrees in computer junk (network admin and security management, computer and networking technology) and get some computer junk certs. I don't think I want/need a BS in compute science, this is the "practical" route of "I could finish this stuff pretty easily and continue working in a field where I have a lot of connections and familiarity with the industry but I am indifferent about a lot of it (pretty passionate about security and accessibility tho). Also allows me to keep working while I just churn school in the background, and all of the computer classes are transferable between the two schools.
Art classes: I think having multiple degrees is funney. I am currently 5 classes away from an AA in visual arts, at the end of this term I will be 4 classes away; if I take all the classes here and can take an elective over the summer I'll have a degree in visual arts. (There is a reasonable possibility that I'll continue taking bullshit classes behind the scenes to get silly degrees regardless of what happens otherwise)
Pretty sure the sensible thing is to drop *at least* photography and survey of western art and also possibly Java and 2D design. I'm somewhat concerned that if my spring term is just Saturday chem and object oriented programming I will start biting things.
So:

The more I write, the more I understand why Google (in this case, specifically google drive) has such a chokehold on the world.
There is just no other platform that covers all the bases when it comes to the different services and abilities I want to have available for my work.
Google Drive offers a cloud storage i can access on pretty much any device that can download the app or access a browser, and if I'm willing to stoop to using chrome (im not), I can even access/edit my files offline. I can share my files with anyone else that also has access to the app or a browser easily and directly, and give them varying amounts of access to the work. I can have conversations with them INSIDE the document, either in the chat window or through leaving comments on the work itself, all in real time, and easily respond to suggestions from others without having two versions of the project open and skimming for the differences.
There's even an ao3 script I can use for google docs that adds in the html coding I need to make my formatting work properly on the archive.
In an attempt to move away from google drive, I tried a few other options, and none gave me the freedom/services that I need/want from a writing platform. There are file-sharing websites that would let me send a document to someone else, but no way to transfer back comments unless they reformatted the file, edited it, then sent it back for me to reformat. Plus those websites almost always require the other person to also have an account with them. There are offline options, like Scrivener, which is what I use currently for a few different fics, and while it has lots of options, there are almost none that relate to intercommunicative work with editors or Betas or anyone else. Because everything is saved to my computer rather than a cloud, I can work offline, but I'm limited to only being able to access my work from a single device, unless I save everything to an external harddrive and plug it in whenever I want to work. I can't access it on my phone, or share it with others, or leave comments within the work for referencing later. Because it uses its own formatting, I can't even copy/paste writing into it or out of it. In order to put anything in ao3 from scrivener, I have to download the file in a specific format, then re-upload it to google drive and run it through the script i have, THEN copy/paste it into ao3. In order to get any perspective from an editor/beta, I still have to download it and upload to drive, then share the file with the person I want. Then, either I make the changes in the drive document, then Re-download and Re-upload it to scrivener and have to completely recreate the chapters/files that I had working for me, or just have both versions open and only make changes in the scrivener version and just keep downloading/uploading it over and over again to drive. I believe the mac version of scrivener is supposed to let you send documents more easily to other people who ALSO own scrivener, but it's not the kind of back and forth sharing that I would want. It's just a faster file-share than downloading and e-mailing it to someone.
No matter where I look, i cannot find any other platforms that offer the ability to save your work to a cloud (without it ONLY being hosted on the cloud, like Drive. I just want to be able to save a copy of it so that my work is in two places) then share it with others easily, and allow them to make edits/suggestions/comments within the document, while still letting you retain the ability to work on your documents offline when you so choose. Why then, do I not want to use google drive, if it offers everything I'm looking for? Because google fucking sucks. If my documents get to more than like 60 pages long, the entire page starts lagging, as if I'm asking the page to load a massive picture instead of basic text. There is no fix except to make an entirely new document and repaste the words. Drive also kicks me offline at random, despite my internet working literally everywhere else on my computer, and while my work is offline, I can't make any changes, so I have to deal with random pauses in my writing where i'm just waiting for it to reconnect. I can't use the offline edits feature without using a chrome browser. Plus, it breaks constantly, buttons on the screen going missing and documents corrupting in strange ways. In short, it's google. I don't want to use it. But for some reason NO ONE else has made a platform that actually works like google drive, but isn't shit. I don't know whether what google drive offers is actually that difficult to recreate without the concessions that google forces people to put up with, or if no one making websites/platforms understands that this is what people need/want.
The hoops writers have to go through in order to do any collaborative work (and in fandom, that's SO Much more common) outside of google drive is infuriating, and made more so Because google drive exists. I wouldn't be so annoyed that I'm not getting All the options that I want from one platform, if it weren't for the fact that drive is sitting RIGHT THERE proving that it's totally possible for it to exist. it's just that no one's made it, or if they have, it's locked behind a massive paywall.
#personal#rant#writing rant#I hate google but drive is the only reasonable option for people who need beta-work midway through their writing process#NO i do not want to write out the entire fic or even entire chapters before being able to get advise/help/opinions from my beta#Yes that makes me picky and prissy and NO i don't care

Solved problems
Some things computers should be able to Just Do but for some reason cannot:
Large file transfers Okay, this is kinda the big one. The 300mb file transfer on the network, if you will. Arguably it's the entire point of the Internet: a resilient communications network which allows transfer of large quantities of data over arbitrary media. And yet this is the one thing which computers persistently cannot do well, or at least not easily and natively without blood sacrifice and a credit card.
Print Getting a computer to print is one of the most frustrating things, and I do not know why. Especially inasmuch as the overwhelming majority of printouts are simply black&white text on a piece of standard office paper. This should be very straightforward and in fact so simple that most people never have to think about a printer driver, in the same way that you don't have to think about a monitor driver or a keyboard driver.
Actually shut down It should be possible to simply, without performing a dance, holding the button for precisely 23.52 seconds, or anything else, turn off your computer. This should not be a thing the device can block or prevent. There should be a button or switch - maybe with a safety cover to prevent accidents - to interrupt power. Even on a laptop. It should not go into sleep or hibernation mode. It should not be able to come back on. It should not be in a listening state. It should be physically impossible for anyone to use the device to listen in on you because there is no electricity going to the internals.
Gracefully wake up from sleep mode On the other hand, if a computer does go into any kind of hibernation or sleep mode, it should gracefully return to operational status. There should not be a risk of it being caught in a state where it's not off but you also cannot wake it up. This is my computer, not my spouse at 6am on a Monday. My computer does not need coffee, and will not be getting any. If it cannot reliably return from sleep mode, it's just off but wasting power.
Show me the thing I was just looking at Another big one. It's entirely possible, both online and off, for a computer to display faster than a user can process. "Wait, go back" should be an option. It should not ever be "Well, you scrolled past it, it's gone forever."
Easily search the files I have on my computer This one... used to be better? Right now at least WIndows really wants to read the content of files, so if I'm looking for my 2025 Dental bills, it tries to show me every file I have which includes "dental" and "2025" in the text of the file, and does not just show me the four files I actually named some variant of "2025Dentalblah". This should be easy, and it is not.
Locate duplicate files Maybe this one is just me, but... due to migrations and backups, sometimes I end up with several copies of the same files. It should be really easy to identify these files. I mean, there are checksums, okay? This is a thing a computer can do natively and very easily. Yet for some reason there's no simple way to do this, and even duplicate locator utilities are weird and don't work right.
Identify and display files File formats are not a new concept. It should be exceedingly rare to encounter a file format which a computer cannot readily identify and display. Not "And then run as a program" but simply "Oh, this is a quicktime file, I gotcha boss." For a computer today to encounter a file format it can't identify should be a Major Mystery and not an everyday occurrence.
Not allow evil background shit On the flip side, there's a lot of background activity which ipso facto should not be allowed. There's no reason for an application to be contacting a server every 500ms, there's no reason a data file format should have the ability to run a service. These should not be things at all. And these are the source of so many security holes which could simply be closed by not allowing arbitrary code execution.
Now, I know most of these have known solutions, but if those solutions are more than two steps, they're dumb. Because these should not be complicated at all. These should be simply and native and not require effort. These are not new problems, and should have been solved a while ago.

All of My Page Content is Free to Share https://www.billkochman.com/Blog/index.php/all-of-my-page-content-is-free-to-share/ Dear friends, as many of you will already know, for many years now, I have encouraged my online friends to share my work. I have likewise made the rules for sharing my work very clear for many years now as well. But for those of you who may not be aware of my particular sharing rules, because you are a new friend, or perhaps because you have simply forgotten them, allow me to share the following with you for your clarification: 1. If you wish to share my images, KJV Bible Verse Lists, poetry or BBB article announcements, then you must do it the HONEST and PROPER way by using the "Share" link or button, "Retweet" button, or "Retruth" button ONLY. On Facebook, for example, you will find it located next to or underneath each image or text message that I post. I think it depends on what kind of computer or mobile device you are using. 2. Please do NOT download my images from my page, or from any of my albums, or from any other social networks or online sources, and then re-upload them to your own timeline, page or albums. There are some very specific reasons regarding why I request that my work ONLY be shared the PROPER way, as noted above. a. --> It ensures that there is a link back to my page, or else back to an actual page on the Bill's Bible Basics website or blog. In my view, when people break that link back to the place of origin, it is not fair -- and it is dishonest -- considering how many thousands of hours I have invested in creating my currently 7,000+ graphics over the years. Please understand that this is NOT just about giving credit to whom credit is due -- as some people seem to think -- as I more fully explain in the following points below. b. --> It ensures that all of my BBB article links and KJV Bible Verse Lists links are properly transferred to your timeline or page, if there are any listed with my post. As I have mentioned many times before, please understand that my graphics are just the icing on the cake, and are meant to lead my friends and followers to a deeper study of God's Word, by following the links that I provide with each image. In short, if you download my graphics, and then re-upload my images to your own timeline, page or album, or to some other social network in which you personally participate, then any links I provide with my posts will be lost, and your friends will lose the advantage of the deeper Word studies which I provide with each of my images. c. --> I sometimes update my graphics and make better, improved versions of them. If you download and then re-upload my images to your own timeline, page or album, or to some other social network, you will keep older versions of my graphics in circulation, which I obviously do not want to happen. Also, as I just said, by doing that, you also break any associated links I may have included with the graphic. Some people seem to think that uploading my images to their own albums is okay, because all of my images contain my website URL. However, the truth is that we have all grown lazy, and most folks will not take the time to manually type out a URL they see in an image. They prefer easily-accessible, clickable links. Not only that, but unless the graphic is an ad for one of my articles or series, the URL that is on the graphic will only take them to the main page of my website. It will not take them to the actual graphic where they will find article and KJV Bible Verse List links which are directly related to the graphic in question. But there is more. Many of my older graphics display my OLD website domain name. That is, endtimeprophecy .net. For those of you who may not know, I owned that domain name -- as well as endtimeprophecy .org -- for sixteen years. However, for reasons which I explain in articles such as "Tradition or Truth? Old Wine or New Wine?", I relinquished ownership of those two domain names a number of years ago, and have since been using billkochman.com as my only website URL, and Bill's Bible Basics as my only website name. However, the problem is that after I gave up ownership of endtimeprophecy .net, some unscrupulous individual -- or possibly a group of individuals -- bought up the EPN domain name, and for years now has been using the name Endtime Prophecy Net, and the URL endtimeprophecy .net, to sneakily lure people to a website which advertises a hotel chain. On the top of the page, it looks like a very old version of my Endtime Prophecy Net website, but none of the links work. But on the bottom of the page, they have listed a pile of links for their hotel chain. As I mention in the aforementioned article, my efforts to get them to stop such dishonest behavior failed. So, the point is this: If you have any of my older graphics in your online albums, and if those older graphics still happen to have "endtimeprophecy .net" on them instead of "billkochman.com", whether you realize it or not, you are directing your online friends to a bogus website which has absolutely nothing to do with our Christian faith. Sadly, I know for a fact that this is still happening, because even recently, I have seen some of my older images floating around on Facebook with my old domain name on them. So that is another good reason why you should only be using the "Share", "Retweet" or "Retruth" link or button to share my graphics. That way, you can be sure that you are sharing the latest versions of said images. That is, if you are getting them from my BBB website, from my BBB Blog, or from one of the eight social networks in which I currently participate. To reiterate, if you come across any of my graphics online which still have "endtimeprophecy .net" on them, please do not share them. Thank you! Be Honest! Please Don't Cheat, Alter or Steal! Sadly, as some of you will know, for years now, some people -- other Christians, no less -- have used my images in ways in which I do not approve. I freely offer my graphics to all of my online friends. All I ask in return is that you have the decency to NOT alter them in any way -- particularly by not removing my name and website URL from them, or by chopping them up and using parts of them -- and that you share them the PROPER way, by using the "Share", "Retweet" or "Retruth" link or button. Please don't rob others of the blessing of this vast treasure of God's Word, by stealing and altering my graphics, so that people cannot find my timeline, or the Bill's Bible Basics website, or the Bill's Bible Basics Blog. If you are going to share them, share the originals exactly as I create them. Now, if you are not willing to follow the previous simple rules -- which should be easy to do for any honest Christian -- then please do NOT share my graphics at all. I am very serious about this. Some of you have no idea how long and hard I have worked at this ministry for so many years. I am not a spring chicken anymore. Despite the fact that I am growing old, I still work long hours here, and this ministry has taken a serious toll on my health, particularly on my eyes, back, lungs, head and stomach. In recent years I have gotten DVT -- Deep Vein Thrombosis/blood clots -- twice because of it, as well as Acute Bilateral Pulmonary Emboli -- blood clots in all four nodes of my lungs -- and have been hospitalized for sixteen days total, due to the long hours I sit here working on this ministry. So please, show some respect by following the rules. Thank you in advance for your honesty! GBY for respecting my wishes. And thank you for sharing my work. I really appreciate it. There is only so much that I can do to get it out to as many people as possible. So your assistance by honestly sharing my work is a real blessing to me, as well as to others. https://www.billkochman.com/Blog/index.php/all-of-my-page-content-is-free-to-share/?All%20of%20My%20Page%20Content%20is%20Free%20to%20Share

Vendor Lock-in or Vendor Partnership: Navigating the New Cloud Ecosystem
As a solution architect, my journey through the evolving landscape of cloud computing has been both challenging and rewarding. The comprehensive cloud computing training online provided by ACTE Institute played a pivotal role in shaping my understanding and expertise in this domain. This training equipped me with the knowledge to navigate complex cloud ecosystems and make informed decisions that align with organizational goals.
In today's digital era, cloud computing has become the backbone of modern enterprises, offering scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency. However, with these advantages comes the critical consideration of how organizations engage with their cloud service providers. The debate between vendor lock-in and vendor partnership is central to this discussion, as it influences an organization's agility, innovation potential, and long-term success.
Understanding Vendor Lock-in
Vendor lock-in refers to a situation where a customer becomes dependent on a single cloud provider's products and services, making it challenging to switch to another provider without incurring substantial costs or facing technical difficulties. This dependency can arise from the use of proprietary technologies, unique service offerings, or data formats that are not easily transferable.
The implications of vendor lock-in are significant. Organizations may find themselves constrained by the limitations of their chosen provider, unable to leverage innovative solutions from other vendors. Additionally, they may face escalating costs, as the lack of competition can lead to unfavorable pricing models. The risk of service disruptions also looms large, as any issues with the provider can directly impact the organization's operations.
Embracing Vendor Partnership
On the other hand, viewing the relationship with cloud providers as a partnership can yield numerous benefits. A vendor partnership is characterized by collaboration, mutual trust, and shared objectives. In such a relationship, the provider becomes more than just a service supplier; they become a strategic ally invested in the organization's success.
This partnership approach fosters innovation, as both parties work together to develop customized solutions that drive business growth. It also enhances flexibility, allowing organizations to adapt to changing market dynamics swiftly. Moreover, a strong partnership can lead to better support and service quality, as the provider is more attuned to the organization's specific needs and challenges.
Strategies to Mitigate Vendor Lock-in
While the benefits of vendor partnerships are clear, it's essential to implement strategies that mitigate the risks associated with vendor lock-in. Here are some approaches that have proven effective in my experience:
Adopt Open Standards and Interoperability: Utilizing open-source technologies and adhering to industry standards can reduce dependency on a single provider. This approach ensures that applications and data are compatible across different platforms, facilitating easier migration if needed. citeturn0search0
Implement a Multi-Cloud Strategy: Distributing workloads across multiple cloud providers can prevent over-reliance on one vendor. This strategy not only mitigates the risk of lock-in but also allows organizations to leverage the unique strengths of different providers.
Regularly Review Contracts and SLAs: It's crucial to negotiate terms that provide flexibility and protect the organization's interests. Regular reviews ensure that the services align with evolving business needs and market conditions.
Invest in Staff Training and Development: Equipping the team with diverse cloud skills reduces reliance on vendor-specific solutions. Training programs, such as those offered by ACTE Institute, can broaden the team's expertise and enhance their ability to manage multi-cloud environments effectively.
The Role of ACTE Institute in My Professional Journey
Reflecting on my career, the cloud computing training in Bangalore provided by ACTE Institute stands out as a cornerstone of my professional development. The curriculum was meticulously designed to cover both foundational concepts and advanced topics, ensuring a holistic understanding of cloud ecosystems.
The instructors, with their extensive industry experience, provided practical insights that bridged the gap between theory and real-world application. The hands-on projects and case studies enabled me to apply the learned concepts, fostering a deeper comprehension and honing my problem-solving skills.
Moreover, the emphasis on emerging trends and best practices prepared me to navigate the complexities of vendor relationships effectively. The knowledge gained empowered me to establish strategic partnerships with cloud providers, leveraging their capabilities while safeguarding my organization's autonomy.
Conclusion
Navigating the new cloud ecosystem requires a delicate balance between leveraging vendor capabilities and maintaining organizational independence. By understanding the dynamics of vendor lock-in and embracing strategic partnerships, organizations can harness the full potential of cloud computing.
My journey, enriched by the training at ACTE Institute, has equipped me with the skills and insights to make informed decisions in this realm. As cloud technologies continue to evolve, staying abreast of best practices and fostering collaborative vendor relationships will be pivotal in driving sustained success.

Filmmaking and AI (Final Full Essay)
In this this new era of film making it seems anyone can be a fil maker. Just typing in a sentence of what they want to see, and it would ‘magically’ appear out of thin air. This is where the technological advancement of AI is heading to where the process of film making should be easier to accomplish, but would that compromise the creative thinking of film makers such as myself essentially becoming lazy? Would it replace jobs as big corporation would need to employ people but invest in AI instead since it easier and would go on strike? AI seems frightening to the creative community, but I believe AI would not replace humans.
Since film making started in the late 19th century the process was gruelling. From only shooting black and white footage with no sound thus having to have a live band perform at the cinemas to give life to these films. The editing process was long since they used the linear method of editing, which involves arranging images and sounds in order. At the beginning, this did involve using scissors to splice the footage and then using tape to attach it in the correct order. This was until 1920 when the Moviola was invented making editing easier but still long. Until 50 years later when the tape recorders started appearing during the time when computers were beginning to advance. Eventually util the digital age where we can transfer files easily from hardware to hardware. We’ve seen in each era in retrospective how technology advancement has helped improve film making process. Why however does AI feels different?
AI has been used in many areas not just in the creative industry but when AI started becoming a ‘problem’ for creatives is when generated still images was created. Ethically this function was controversial as AI steals data from actual artists and essentially steal their artwork for a random person to type in and have an artwork that is the same. Because of this, AI was negatively looked upon from the get-go. Not only it looked ugly and unpolished, but they were no creativity to these images. Despite this these tools were used constantly even by me. In HNC (my first year) I used AI generated imagery to use for a book cover design.
Since overall, the reception was positive Google first announced the first video generated AI tool. Now 14 months later we now have Sora Open AI which right now isn’t available to the public, however they contacted Hollywood to allow fil makers to have early access and make short films. To me this thought is crazy since I already believe Hollywood is becoming to corporate and not allowing creativity to flourish as hard as before (when it comes to blockbusters). So now will Hollywood get rid of employees to make more cash grab movies?
Well looking at the history of film making, and AI I have concluded that AI will not replace anyone. When the internet first came it was controversial for people back then but now it is accepted and is instrumental to the process of film making. AI will be the same if it used as a tool not a replacement.
While I have always been attracted to film making because of the visuals, hence why I am more into music videos and moving image rather than just movies or tv shows, I know that narrative is the most important element of film making. Making something the audience can relate can only be achieved through a human making it. AI can’t understand human emotion or doesn’t have that experience to make a film that can be as emotional. If someone asked me to watch a film made by a human or AI, I would choose human because the authenticity is there. If Hollywood or other big film industry turn to AI film making, they will become bankrupt. To prove my point, I will analyse the AI short film Air head by shy kids.
Air Head is an AI movie is about a guy that has a ballon for a head. He monologues his identity crisis but, in the end, accepts it. This movie wasn’t enterally made by humans. First a human created the concept for the AI to visualise, but also the voice acting, and music was made by humans. Now AI properly isn’t as advance when it comes to making music out of thin air yet otherwise, they could have generated music for this short film and voice acting sounded robotic I originally thought it was AI.
So visually this movie is bland. It uses reference points to make a story because it doesn’t have the relatability to make this concept emotionally. There are many movies that have unrealistic concepts, but the audience can relate because the content in the movie has realism to it. This movie fails to emphasise this because AI is only projecting the data that it has gathered and not creatively thinking of and interesting idea.
Comparing this to another movie with a similar concept, Edward Scissor Hand, is night and day. From the colour grading, the acting, the emotions, Air Head possibly can create this because it can’t replace human talent. The movie Edward Scissor Hand is about an animated human that has scissors for hands. Edward is an outcast therefore however in the movie he falls in love with a girl and thus accepts his identity. Both Air head and Edward Scissor Hands have outcasts as main protagonists but what the latter movies does it takes use through a show does not tell journey that gives us time to sympathise with the main character and cheer him along. Air Head just tells us his issue and doesn’t give us any time to understand his character. Air head may be a short film, but other successful short films are able to tell gripping tales in the short time frame.
I believe AI should be used in post-production, specifically, editing. Right now, I am making my moving image video for my exhibition piece. A problem that I am facing is not being able to overlap. I you see my final footage (thus far) on Tumblr, you’ll see in the question section the video footage is in the back. I want the shape animation to be in the back but to do that I would have to rotoscope the footage for that to work. That would’ve been a long task that I don’t have the time for, so I just settled. If there was an I tool that can just rotoscope for me accurately it would’ve been easier. That example is what I mean when AI can be used as a tool to enhance to creative process does not replace it.
Overall, hard work pays off. Those that stand out in the film industry are the innovators that can be create and make moving tales. Since AI is here and it is not going away, I believe we should adapt to it. If I can be just as creative and use AI to enhance my projects that will push me further than someone who has is doing it traditionally.
So, to conclude this study I will evaluate AI authenticity by giving an AI generator the same brief I had for my artefact project. I made a short film based on my artefact which was an inhaler. Since I have asthma, this film is personal to me so can AI relate that. Also, can AI generate a more creative video than me. That is what I will assess.

Government overreach, digital warrants and their use in abortion prosecution
Long post. 4 segments. 1. Geofence warrants and their usage 2. Keyword warrants and their usage 3. The application of both in Texas vs "abortion trafficking" 4. My thoughts and why this came to mind
Geofence warrants are warrants for location data from google and several other providers for people in an area, at a given time. As far as I am aware Apple does not give this information out yet, they're easily the best large mobile and location data provider in terms of location privacy.
One usage of this is is theft. If someone had a theft occur from their house while they were at work, a geofence warrant could go out for say, a 3 block radius for the 8h workday the break-in occurred.
Problem: if the thieves didn't carry their phones and used an old car maybe the person riding a bike 2 blocks away becomes the primary suspect because they're the only person listed in the geofence warrant who doesn't live there. Another legit usage is to track who's on a national security site, eg. everyone in a power plant gets tracked. This makes sense to me more than any other use, so I don't think every use of this technology is bad, but it is currently extremely abused. --- Keyword warrants are similar. Keyword warrants are (iirc) standing warrants into anyone who searches certain keywords in online search. Google has been asked (several years ago at this point) to handover personal identifying information and other search history and data (like location and time) to anyone who searches up a giant list of keywords, the list was accidentally released in 2021 for a short period. The beginning of this list of these keywords are things like: "INFOSEC, Information Security, Information Warfare, IW, IS, Privacy, Information Terrorism, Terrorism Defensive Information, Defense Information Warfare, Offensive Information, Offensive Information Warfare, National Information Infrastructure, InfoSec, Reno, Compsec, Computer Terrorism," but in the body it also includes: "Firewalls, Sex, wire transfer, e-cash, credit card, virus," and so on. Certainly designed so they can pull the search history of basically every citizen whenever they want. --- The application of both in Texas vs "abortion trafficking" Texas has established a link between these two techniques. Texas has decided to place geofence warrants along every major highway out of the state, and combined that with keyword warrants for abortion and related terms online. They are pairing the personal identifying information from the geofence and keyword warrants to identify "abortion traffickers" for the state to prosecute. --- My thoughts Fucking disgusting. A mass abuse of governmental power and overreach, not to mention the human rights and autonomy. There's a post in my history somewhere about autonomy utilitarianism which is basically the moral philosophy i hold to, though i think i called it agency utilitarianism at the time. I've never really found a good resource to describe it online. I play video games with random folks, and we chat. Almost inevitably when I get chatting with someone from the south (Texas, georgia, florida) they start going off on how the state cucks me (Canada and California) and our government is too big. It's hard not to throw this kind of thing back in their face. Their state governments have way more to say in what they do than any government I've lived under. I'm very much a live and let live person. I live mine, your live yours, if I'm bothered by something, talk about it peaceably and try not to get the Govt involved. And frankly believe, they Govt should almost never be allowed to get involved unless it's becomes a public hazard, but that's a different post.

Answer 2
So, I posted the drawing of GG and started getting notifications. The thing is, when I checked the blog and scrolled down, I saw a question from a year ago. Back then, I didn’t know much English, so it was easy for me to misinterpret the question, haha.
I think I should have given more details about that question, and yes, I currently trace some of my drawings (well, not all of them). Examples:
As you can see, I first draw traditionally and then transfer it to digital. I should point out that when I become familiar enough with a character, I no longer need to sketch it traditionally. An example is GG from TSSM; I’ve drawn him so many times that it’s no longer comfortable for me to draw him twice because… well, he’s a special character to me.
Oh! Also, in the Moral Orel style, I work directly in digital because digital watercolor allows me to be creative and imagine I’m shaping the character like clay. It really depends on the style. I used to draw everything digitally (like with TSSM), but unfortunately, I started having vision problems and decided to take a break. That doesn’t mean I always draw traditionally; sometimes when I hear music, I get inspired and just let myself flow on the digital canvas.
I’ll be honest with all of you: I really don’t like the way I draw. Believe me, being a perfectionist is a headache. That’s why I leave many things unfinished, because I know it would cost me too much, even in terms of my physical health. I used to spend hours on my computer trying to finish my digital drawings in detail, and that’s not healthy at all. That obsession with trying to mimic the original style started when I saw so many artists mastering it so well, which led me to do the same, forgetting my own style. I don’t fully consider myself an artist, and I probably never will. That’s why I now prefer to enjoy what I draw, leave it unfinished, and no longer obsess over completing it, but I still try to maintain the core style.
I also know that those drawings... will look awful, and I laugh about it. Believe me, when I try to imitate the original style, it turns out terrible. Then I look back at the drawings I did, and I just laugh out loud. It’s amazing how, over time, you realize how bad your drawings used to be, and now the results are so much better.
What I love about digital art is that when I transfer my traditional drawing to digital, I can spot many mistakes and have the option to fix them easily, haha (Well, not entirely... noses and hands have been my enemies since time immemorial. For those, I definitely need geometric shapes!).
That’s all, I guess I just needed to vent a little.
hi, i couldnt help but notice your artstyle changes a lot. do you heavily reference/trace your work?
Hello, good afternoon! I don't quite understand your question… maybe it's because of the bad translation. In concrete answer, I don't have my own style… or so I think, since I always try to correctly draw the characters in their original style. Yes, I use references to get used to drawing the characters correctly. An example is Rick and Morty, who at the beginning had to start drawing them on paper and in all sincerity I comment that the first drawings are ugly. With Orel and his characters, especially Bendy, he is one of my favorite characters and as you can see, it took me a while to get used to Orel's style. Now, in question of tracing or tracing… I don't trace drawings… I hope I have resolved your question and sorry if I misunderstood.
(I'm sorry if the answer is misspelled, English is not my native language)
