dude its so weird seeing americans get super salty at christians like the experience between usa and europe is so different and how the religion itself is proselytize-d (dunno how to english) is so weird. evangelists and baptists kinda seem like cults.

There are certain religions/denominations that aren’t closed and do accept converts but it’s crazy to think about someone converting too. How the hell did you get them to let you join an Amish community? What the fuck do you mean you were raised agnostic and converted to trad Catholicism? I know Mormons do proselytize but it’s crazy when you see someone who converted to Mormonism out of the blue from a secular background. You have to be grandfathered into these faiths with years of religious guilt stamped into you as a child.

im gonna be real i adore your art immensely and i go crazy for your religious interpretations, but i always forget youre actually christian because the way you view and interpret the bible and faith is so unlike any other religious person i know and way more similiar to my atheist insanity about it. anyway. your art makes me feel so many things

That's so funny. I mean you'd be right in a way. I was raised christian but then kind became more apathetic to it when I hit like mid teens, and then reading the bible a little bit more critically and just analyzing characters how you would a book avshsb. At some point I became vaguely more religious again but it's a weird thing. So I've viewed the bible religiously and I've viewed it agnostically and now in a weird place where I'm reading it with both those concepts in mind

You know, I get really tired of Christian apocalypse cults

Here in we're defining apocalypse cult as a group that keeps talking about how "this even is actually the end of the word for realsies this time", and I'd probably get tired of all apocalypse cults, but they're not the ones I tangentially encounter

I was just thinking about the invasion of Ukraine and remembering the typical round of the certain Christian groups that are like "this is the end times", and gleeful about it and it's just like... you people are sick

Others are suffering horribly and you're all pretty much celebrating because you're crazy enough to think you've figured out the time of the rapture or whatever, and now you'll go get to be bosom buddies with Jesus

Well I'll tell you, if God's actually friendly with ghouls like you I want nothing to do with that frankly, but I don't think that's it. I think you've got some people who want to feel important by rubber necking at human misery

Anyway, it's all kind of irrelevant. I really doubt this has anything to do with any of you all on here. It's not like this is common even among Christians

I came across a comic which basically featured the brothers where they were younger as they asked questions while their mother dressed them up for church.

It was so cute but also made me think.

What do you think the role of Christianity was in the Mario Brothers their life? Would they still be part of it or would they turn agnostic/atheist?

I think, being Italian, they've got some Catholic roots, but it's more a cultural thing than something their family actually believes. Every so often they'll attend an easter mass or an infant baptism to reconnect with relatives, but ultimately their worldview is very agnostic in a "who the heck knows what's going on in this crazy universe" kind of way.
