🧿what steps do you take to not take things personally if a fic doesn't do well, or if your writing/posting/sharing experience isn't going how you'd like it to? Wait, we aren’t supposed to take things personally? Honestly, any time I post a fic I post and then I walk away from my computer. I am a terrible perfectionist and a pathological people pleaser (lol), so it helps to just remove myself from the situation.

💞what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language 💘Is there any posted fic you want to rework/re-edit/re-write? The characters and dialogue! Characters are what guide a story, what make people care, if they don't care about what happens to the little wierdos in your story, then what's the point? Dialogue is really just my little pet peeve, I can't stand really stilted dialogue.

And yes! I'm a little torn about this but there is a little bit of an urge to go back and rewrite the first few installments of the Grumpy x Sunshine series and other earlier fics. I'm focusing on finishing up The Twin Flames and then I'll think about it some more.

💫what is your favorite kind of comment/feedback? Any of them. All of them. I think when people tell me that they thought of my stories irl or when they hear Taylor Swift and think of me, my heart melts a little 💕

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with? I work really hard (like embarrassingly hard) on all of my fics, but I really struggle with fighting scenes, I don't particularly like writing them and I don't think I'm very good at them either.

I think the one fic that I struggled with the most is Alone Together. It was very hard on me, I think it was the first fic that I cried while writing.

🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic? I'm a little worried that one of these days I'll sort of just fade out, people will stop reading, stop caring, you guys will move on without little old me.

But also, that somewhere, there's a freaking TYPO after three rounds of editing.

hi, kly! on a scale of 1-10, how did trool!mira's middle school years go? sending good vibes to ya. 🌌🌌 - 💫

ooh an interesting question! I don't know if I can give a rating (what is it based on?) but I can describe how it was.

trool!Mira was a transfer student - her family moved while she was in the middle of Grade 9*, which was initially difficult for her because she had no friends and was always alone (on top of culture shock). Then one day a group of nerds took pity on her and asked her if she wanted to hang out with them. Over time she opened up more and came out of her shell and eventually befriended the popular kids. She mostly moved on to those groups (she had more common interests with them) but she stayed friends with the nerds too. Some of the popular kids didn't like her because she was nice to "losers" so they would spread rumours and called her "fake" behind her back. (This was pretty rough when she found out, because she's a people pleaser and perfectionist and it fed into her fear of being hated by everyone and ending up alone.)

Mira is smart but academically she had (and still has) some trouble staying on task and also procrastinates, so there were some challenges there too. Overall though, she did okay. Her later school years were much better.

*Where I live the definition of "middle school" varies, so I chose grades 8-9. (Some places have middle school or they call it junior high, and it ranges from grades 5 to 10 (and varies still like 5-8 vs 7-9 vs 7-10 depending on location and school) (roughly age 10 to 16), which is quite broad in terms of development.)

& okay so her dynamic with everett is very much opposites attract ❤️ she’s bubbly and lighthearted and will never miss the opportunity to be sarcastic. makes the world’s most godawful puns. a little bit of a people pleaser and a perfectionist - very much a believer of the fake it till you make it philosophy so she often appears way more confident than she actually is and only the people she trusts are privy to her true insecurities.

very loyal! she’s nice to everyone that’s nice to her but has no problem being rude if the occasion calls for it. that being said even though she has a lot of friends & acquaintances her circle of close friends is really small and if you’re one of them she’s always gonna be on your side which i think is everett’s favorite thing about her ❤️ she has no problem calling him out and telling it like it is but also she’s always got his back and gives him the space to make mistakes and grow from them and be better without abandoning his side <3 as long as she can see that someone is truly trying their best and is not taking advantage of her kindness then she’s game.

and as for her family no trauma here shockingly! since malia’s fc imaan is moroccan & egyptian so is malia!! her parents moved to morocco to give her and her brother a better life. they’re both super loving and hardworking, and malia’s love for cooking definitely came from seeing her mom cook in the kitchen and wanting to help her and wanting to learn more about her culture ❤️ her dream is to open a moroccan/ egyptian/ fusion restaurant and share her culture with others <3 while her parents are lovely and she is super close to them i think her perfectionism and putting too much pressure on herself definitely comes from her parents but that’s just the quintessential first generation immigrant experience! and her brother angelo is an absolute angel <3 he’s older than her by 4 years and is her best friend- he’s always been there for her he makes her laugh he teases her he comforts her when she’s down - she wouldn’t be the same without him ❤️

LITERALLY LIKE D3 WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! It just doesn’t make sense why Ben didn’t apologize to Audrey before then. Ohhh and yes that other point about mal. I def agree! Cuz it also even seemed like mal did try to amend things with Audrey in the last scene of D1. So idk why she didn’t try to actually apologize to Audrey. I literally hate how they do that trope where the mean character gets development in the first movie and then they get set back to just their mean personality in the sequel. It just annoys me a lot.

And yes Ben letting mal go without consequences was sooo weird. I hate how they made him seem like the bad person for getting upset at mal when he was justified in getting upset cuz she spelled him. Like I think him having the whole ‘it’s my fault,’ could have been handled better in a sense. Like Ben is now going to be the king so it very well could have showed him now becoming a people pleaser and wanting to be a perfectionist (even with his own girlfriend) cuz now he’s under a lot more pressure than he was before. And it could have showed how becoming a king is actually affecting him and his mental health. And of course you have the whole dad issues thing where he doesn’t want to become his father. So I think having that guilt makes sense in that way but the way they treated it in canon makes no sense at all and is a horrible lesson/message to give to kids. Like everyone was willing to jump on Ben for apparently dumping/hurting mal when that wasn’t what happened. And the fact that they never even asked tho annoys me. Like idk the whole guilt thing could have been resolved if they had the characters actually ask Ben what happened and why he got upset at mal. And then have the characters validate Ben’s emotions and his fears. And kind of ya know not victim blame him in the whole situation.

And oohhh nice!! I also love Robin and max and Lucas a lot! They’re just so precious and amazing. Along with Chrissy. And honestly that’s a mood trying to find fics where she lives.

Most of the time it's not even "development" it's just the protagonists being way too nice and forgiving to the mean girl after they've done nothing but be a dick the whole movie. and then it's completely undone and they become even worse the next movie. Audrey and Mal could have been the exception because they were BOTH the mean girls! Audrey was a bully and Mal stole her boyfriend with magic and almost took down the kingdom! It was equivalent exchange and they both could have apologized to each other.

Yes!! I've seen posts that make Ben out to be the bad guy for getting upset about Mal trying to erase his memory (over a mistake I'm sure he would have been willing to have a conversation about had she not done what she did) and I'm like?? You can excuse erasing your bf's memories but draw the line at the bf getting mad about it?

And yes, Ben having a "It's All My Fault" reaction to so many things could have been explored some more. "Ben is now going to be the king so it very well could have showed him now becoming a people pleaser and wanting to be a perfectionist" YES EXACTLY!!!! He's put so much pressure on himself to be a good king and it leads to him making himself responsible for things that are not his fault. But the movie never does anything with this!

If you’re like me, I like a good legacy challenge with nice themes/aesthetics to place/plan out with each heir with enough wiggle room for creative interpretations. No. Well I’ve always wanted to do a zodiac legacy challenge but could never find the rules for TS3 or most of them were made for TS4.  So I guess I thought I would just make one then.

He seems innocent and as if his perfect bubble of the world would pop if you mentioned something upsetting but the reality is he’ll listen to anything you need to get out and then give really good advice followed up with his usual humor.

He trusts that there is good in everyone and gives people second chances

Weaknesses 

He does really stupid things a lot

He’ll connect pipes wrong, resulting in later damage and messes

He’s always getting himself hurt, jumping too many stairs at once, making someone really angry and running for his life (Sammy’s the main one that’ll actually chase him down)

It’s like he has no sense of self-preservation

He knows how to stick up for himself and others

MBTI Typing Nancy Drew Characters - Henry Bolet Jr.

So. Henry Bolet. Fan favorite, one-of-a-kind, a gem, our goth boi. We all love him. I’ve typed the main characters, but I haven’t typed him. Might make a series of this.

Anyway, Henry Bolet. He’s an INFJ.

INFJs are well-known for accidentally (or not) making other people’s problems their own. They have their Fe focused on helping others or understanding them. I don’t know if he knows it, but he definitely did this with Summer when he was buying her all those things. 

INFJs tend to try to be people-pleasers, and it can be harmful to them. They focus so much on helping other people they forget to help themselves. Because of that, sometimes they can seem needy-- like he says in the game. They really just want to help. But they also need help as well, to be honest here. (He also didn’t know what to do when Ned offered to help, even though Ned hardly knew him.)

Sometimes, when you add his people-pleasing with his distaste for confrontation and his poor mental health, he can be a pushover. Like with Summer. (Curse you, Summer.)

Another point is that INFJs have a tendency to be perfectionists. We can see that Henry is very upset about the way his uncle handled the estate-- or maybe how he didn’t handle it-- and how he had the books organized perfectly in that shelf. 

I could go WAY deeper into the psychology of Henry Bolet, but that would push me into a WHOLE different topic that I do not have the brain power to focus on. Would I like to delve deeper into that? Probably. But not now.

As for this moment, I have typed Henry Bolet as an INFJ. There ya go.

In the beginning of the actual movie you can see he is polite and mannered to everyone - even to the dwarves, when they basically barge in. He likes reading, music and drinking tea too, and you seem to be also on the more shy side, so that's what he doesn't mind. Bilbo dislikes seeing his loved ones in pain or any kind of harm, too. He would also help you to not to care too much of what people think of you - he became that weird one in Shire after running off to an adventure, after all. He would be very supporting and caring, always making sure if you're comfortable and if you ate.

For Lord of the Rings, I'd ship you with Haldir. Haldir is your protector - he protects you from harm in any way, and you take care of him and make sure he eats and rests when stressed. He often tells you he loves you and kisses your forehead, then lips, to make sure you won't change because of people who don't deserve your attention.

P. S. I've had one friend as a kid and I would always do as she says and schoolmates like this, but lemme tell you - it doesn't matter if you like white roses over red roses, for example. There is bilions of people in the world - someone likes white roses too, someone not, someone dislikes roses in generall, and that's okay. Some people come into your life for a second, some for a week, others for a few months or years, but there will be a point in life when your paths will go to different directions. idk man working with teenage girls is really tough sometimes. as a chronic people pleaser its hard to not take their actions with a grain of salt. and like this month’s bulletin boards are writing down women that inspire you and on both floors, every RA except for me was named. now if this had been done at the beginning of the year, i would have been named. and like. someone wrote down the christian conservative hipster RA as the “cool RA”...ya is she rly that cool when she’s lowkey homophobic and is adamantly pro-life?? idk why this bothers me so much. i guess because i had so many health issues starting with the concussion in october and then all the tmj shit i just don’t have any energy to give them much less have a lot for myself to begin with.

like working with them is like playing a sims game, the things you do or don’t do give them positive or negative points and me not being able to give energy/me just trying to get through my two jobs and grad school, you can almost see the points with them go down. i gave so much of myself at the beginning of the school year that i almost burned out too quickly as a natural introvert, and it was hard to find that line between too much or too little and they used to give me little notes and gifts and always asked for hugs and now i hardly interact with them, and when I do they aren’t as open with me anymore.

and it just makes me so sad and frustrated at myself. like why can’t i be a normal person without chronic health issues. i never used to be an overachiever like this, like actually one of my biggest flaws used to be settling for less than i can achieve and now i have become a perfectionist and i just want to be able to give 100% to all things and i can barely give 100% to one thing. its like my life is constantly that choose two triangle thing which is my grad assistant job, being an RA to minors, or grad school and then added chronic health issues it just makes everything so much harder. i can’t succeed fully with all three.

when i started this job with them, i didnt want to be the typical RA’s who aren’t that involved and i was very involved at the beginning of the school and year and enjoyed hanging out with them but it was also so draining. and i just noticed that the whiteboard outside of my room which has a drawing of a space scene with a space cat saying where i am, someone had taken their little finger and wiped through a few spots. and we had an issue with this earlier in the year with other people’s boards and i have no idea why or who would do that to mine. the only few that i think would care enough to do that are the girls that were clingy with me to start with and now they’re mad/upset that i can’t give much of my energy to them like i was. idk or some of them heard the rumors of me being a terf idk.

idk why does it matter what a bunch of 15 year olds think of me. why am i even writing about this to begin with. how can i want to help people in the ways that I want to when i am not physically able to right now. i feel like its my fault. this job can really be challenging and annoying sometimes, but the little moments that i get to share with them can be really sweet and rewarding. i just wish i had more to give, and it doesn’t feel fair that i can’t.

I was never the adhd kid stereotype ya know? Perfectionist people pleaser sure but I wasn't the type to act out and I got good grades, gifted and talented and all that, so I think any diagnosis of adhd would be seen as ridiculous at the time.

For me, old ways meant that I was hypercritical of myself, a perfectionist, and I got in my own way my trying to be a people pleaser all of the time. I assumed the worst in others because I assumed the worst of myself. Old ways had no self love or self preservation. They lived in fear, and so I feared finding and being close with people that actually cared about me. Old ways meant pushing good energy away and choosing what was familiar to me even though that wasn't what I actually wanted or needed. Old ways weren't conducive to healing and growing into a strong individual. New ways look oh so different...They always have good intent, and they assume the best in myself and others. I've learned to give myself a break, and to not be so modest every time someone gives me a compliment. I deserve to feel good, I am not a burden. I always try my best, and when I do something well, I remind myself, "Ya! I did that sh*t!" New ways are lighter, not attached to resentment or self pity. They aren't worried about "fitting" because they are authentic and authenticity attracts a real and loving tribe back. New ways feel good because they feel right. They are outside of the comfort zone, but they are happening on the frequency at which I'm supposed to be living. These new ways come with lessons and enlightenment. They aren't always easy, but they get you to where you want to be. One door at a time, new ones will open, with these new ways.
