#that scene where she's like 'when did I fall in love with Sasuke...' girl you literally didn't

sorry but it IS very funny when Naruto Shippuden is trying to build literally any romance for Sasuke + Sakura, and so they do flashbacks to meaningful moments between them...and it's the same like. Two. it's the same two scenes every fucking time. and they're not even particularly romantic scenes IMO. and then Naruto shows up and Sasuke's attention is immediately diverted and entirely on him and when they get Meaningful Moments flashbacks it's like a whole fucking movie which 60% of the time includes their silly little kiss. and they literally have a gay little shared mindscape to have these flashbacks in

Ok into the IzuOcha ask: I bet you have come across ships where "this girl deserve better" not sure if you read naruto but sasusaku is canon aka sasuke x sakura. Now, some fans of hers (all of them) say she is a poor thing and deserve better (wont enter here how untrue it is as she got her happy ending, its sasuke who is miserable) and ...I can say Izuocha can be the sasusaku of mha.
Will be canon? Sure.
Will be happy for Izu? NO. Not in canon. Not by Hori.
They had a cute meet. Sure, but it never developed more than that.
1) she calls him deku. Do I know Japanese? No. So I give a pass and maybe deku and dekiru are similar speaking. Ok. The issue here is not that...is how Ochako sees BK calling Izu deku with 100% hostility and ...head empty. Its sus. Its also not cute Izu accept the name deku.
2) she makes no attempt to know him. Grant Izu doesn't either but he does have an excuse as social cues are smth he struggles thanks to 10 years of abuse...amazing how that is smth Hori remembers to give to Izu😒
3) the LN, it paints their relationship so bad. I dont need to point out the obvious.
4) the aftermath of Ixu vs bk. Izu was punished for defending against his abuser, Iida didnt let him see his notes and treated him as a criminal...sure it was to be comical but falls flat as Iida wanted to commited murder (hated he punched Izu) byt Ochako didnt even approach Izu and asks whats up. She also blamed him. "This is a problem of both" and runs with that.
5) Mina and Aoayama have to tell her, and subsequence us, she likes Izu. Otherwise, we wouldn't guess. She made the decision to hide her feelings for Izu...and why? Is not as if she lost a big chance to win money by blushing to Izu.
6) I dont like how the girls in class A1 are taking Ocha's side here in relation to the ship. The movie where Izu meets Melissa...when Izu returns to class A1 the girls seems upset as if he did smth wrong...I find that unfair(I never saw the movie and have 0 desire to do so as BK is there. And sure that scene may have context...)
7) She never even attempt to know Izu. But she is ok in being Toga's blood bank. Togaochako may not be canon and she may have rejected Toga...but the point is not "Ochako wants to kiss Toga" is how Ochako makes no effort for Izu...but we are supposed to see her as this great love interest. In canon, she really isnt. It kills me how she makes 0 effort for Izu...didnt smile when she corned Izu with bk and others...didnt look happy to see him...but is willing to die for Toga. Like....does Izu has a love interest?
8) she called him plain...when she has a plain design. The things she says and does could have land her "mean girl" title
9)"you wont fight quirkless are you?" While I dont subscribe to "quirkless discrimination " as everyone does...I do think it makes sense for only quirked people to be heroes...so with that in mind, Ochako is somewhat saying is ok for Izu to break bones but fight quirkless is wierd? That is intersting to explore but would make her look bad...and by consequence bk and we know who Hori loves.
Not saying Ocha should do anything and everything for Izu...but this story only allows the shallow forms of "love"
Ocha and Izu blushed? Soulmates
Ocha and Izu gifted each other? When is the wedding.
I've answered an IzuOcha asked before so if you wanna take a look at that for more of an insight feel free to.
1. It actually used to irritate me that she called him Deku too BUT someone pointed out to me that Uraraka is from the Mie (?) prefecture and can tend to mix up the pronunciation of "Deku" and "Dekiru" due to her accent. So when she wants to say "Dekiru," it comes out sounding like "Dek'u." This person also said that it gives meaning to their relationship that Izuku decided to keep this name because of this and I actually do somewhat agree. I think Horiloshi's execution of this could have been better (show don't tell Hori), but I don't mind it as much as I used to.
2. I would actually say Uraraka does make a decent attempt to get to know him at least in the beginning. Sure her questions and conversations aren't super deep, but she goes out of her way to make conversation with him and get him to open up. She is only 15/16 too after all so I give her a lot of grace.
3. For my own sanity, I choose to ignore the light novels. If I read them I'll come out disliking 98% of the characters🙂
4. Yes this... Isn't great for either Iida or Uraraka. It actually feels like flat out character regression for Iida (done for a cheap laugh). Uraraka (and all of 1A including All Might and Aizawa) has a kind of warped view on Izuku and Bakugou's relationship. I don't think she's aware that their toxic relationship goes past rivalry, probably because Izuku never says anything bad about Bakugou and doesn't open up. I'm not defending what she says here because it was wrong, but she doesn't have the full story. If she did, her reaction would be very different (she is one of the few characters that will call Bakugou out, even if it isn't as harsh as it should be). I don't even think Horikoshi himself understands the power imbalance between Izuku and Bakugou, so it makes sense that his characters don't either.
5. So Uraraka does this because she doesn't want her feelings to get in the way of becoming a good hero. It's not a bad approach to her character in theory, but Horikoshi's execution of it is horrible (which is true for most of his characters). The problem isn't necessarily that she does this, the problem is a) there was nothing leading up to her having feelings for him past admiration it just... happened, b) there's really no explanation as to how simply having/accepting her feelings would get in the way, and c) it focuses way too much on her avoiding her feelings for Izuku than her actually growing as a hero; in trying to focus her away from Izuku Hori's centering her around him even more. In another author's hands, this could have actually been a decent arc, but oh well.
6. This scene actually isn't too serious. Yaoyorozu and Jirou aren't being malicious to Izuku, they're just teasing him. And they're very nice to Melissa (so is Uraraka) and get along with her well. I don't even think Uraraka was that jealous, maybe a bit envious if anything, and she wasn't upset. The movie doesn't focus on Bakugou too much (unlike that monstrosity of a second movie) so it's not a bad watch. I enjoyed it because we learn more about All Might's time in America and Izuku's friendship with Melissa is super cute🙂
7. I think it's just a different approach to Toga and Izuku as people. I'm not saying it's wrong or right, but I am saying approaching saving them in two different ways isn't outlandish. And she did stand up for him against am angry mob so I don't think it's right to say she didn't put in effort.
8. Plain isn't really an insult. True it's not exactly nice, but I wouldn't call it mean. She also had no idea of knowing he would see that footage.
9. Interesting🤔

If you could how would you fix ino's development
i love you and also im sorry.
ino is such an interesting character, kishimoto took your average pretty mean girl and made her actually super sweet and caring, adaptable, and intelligent
i actually like her personality a lot, she values her looks and can be a bit crabby but compared to sakura, ino is a lot more willing to work with her teammates. she actively takes charge to the point that shikamaru and choji look to her for what to do
id keep her "crush" on sasuke but id instead make it something that sakura misinterpreted and ino went along with bc she thought sakura just didnt want to be friends anymore. she still flirts with sasuke but in a joking way.
id keep her rivalry with sakura but makes it explicit that she wasnt the one that instigated it, id also make her less "mean" in a stereotypical bully way since she was the one that defended sakura from bullies in the first place. she should still be sassy and a bit of a hot head but not overtly rude to others.
also id have her win her fight with sakura, just bc i think it contributes better to sakura's development, but also opens up an extra fight in the chunin exams. not sure who id pit her against but im just saying it would give her more stuff to do (maybe shino? they were both top students at the academy)
she goes on the sasuke retrieval mission and stays behind to help choji fight. theres no reason that she shouldnt go, choji can still almost die and ino can use the time he bought her to finish off orochimaru's lackey but ino has PROVEN to be a good ninja, even if her fighting isnt that great shes fantastic crowd control…come the fuck on.
development wise…no healing abilities…it just felt so tacked on and she didn't nearly have as much passion for it as sakura did. id focus 100% on her clan's reconnaissance bc their abilities are super interesting. would def give her an upgrade regarding her body switching jutsu so shes not left unconcious on the ground with every technique. when shes a genin thats fine but ur telling me sasuke can summon God and ino still can't control people without falling asleep?
okay the puppet scene with the "Mind Puppet Switch Cursed Seal Technique" literally has not left my mind its SO cool and I wish ino learned to use it. is it "ethical"? no. might even be a war crime. but thats fine i think. let ino be a little scary.
AND!!! SUNA LITERALLY HAS A PUPPET MASTER!!! Ino can train with kankuro or at least ASK for assistance
ALSO. OH MY GOD. GIVE HER MORE TO DO IN THE HIDAN AND KAKUZU ARC HOLY SHIT. that arc literally just ended up being about shikamaru (based) and naruto (???) why weren't ino and choji more present!! naruto literally appeared to save the day with his new jutsu when this mission shouldve been team 10 and team 10 ONLY (kakashi is on thin ice)
i like the confrontation between shikamaru and hidan in the forest, thats fine, but ino and choji should be absolutely duking it out with kakazu and his family of puppets! you know who else uses puppets/external tools? INO. Have her try to control kakuzu's external guys while choji beats him up, naruto arriving on the scene feels cheap :/ have kakuzu remark that "oh the strategist is gone" and then ino just immediately takes over as the leader and thinks of a plan because shes teammates with shikamaru's lazy ass and also BEING SMART IS LITERALLY SO IMPORTANT TO HER CHARACTER
AND GIVE HER (AND CHOJI) A SCENE WHERE SHE MOURNS ASUMA. OH MY GOD. HER FUCKING TEACHER JUST DIED. Ino is sidelined sooo much in team 10 its insane. maybe she and her dad (while not super close) talk about what its like to lose people you love, her dad has been a ninja for decades, he would comfort her. have her arrange a bouquet and place it on asuma's grave, have her break down crying over her teacher! this would also be interesting since we dont spend as much time with team 10, but would be able to see that the side characters have their own lives and feelings outside of naruto.
regarding romance ive personally always seen her as a lesbian but her relationship with sai is fine i guess. if she and sai are endgame id like more of a buildup to it. but if i can get my way she and sakura end up together <3
i think shes fine in the war arc, but the war arc itself is something i just wouldnt include if i were to rewrite naruto
also her blank period outfit is UGLY throw that shit OUT girl

you know what would automatically change my hatred to love for sasusaku? If their genders were reversed. Majority of the reason why I hate sasuke and sakura relationship is because the type of environment and the culture I grew up in where it's been fed to women since basically birth to always be faithful to her man no matter how terrible he treats her, even after marriage. The pharse, "Just be patient and he will change", infuriates me to another level. Seeing sakura chasing after sasuke throughout the series after numerous rejections and an attempted MURDER on her by him made me roll my eyes so hard like girl just move the fuck on omfg. And even after their "marriage" sasuke's treatment towards her doesn't get better lmao, leaving her alone with a whole ass child to take care by herself?? BYE sakura's patience for him is outmatch cus I would've divorced his ass for that. Though, the more I mature, little by little I begin to understand the complexity of their relationship after putting my gender issues aside for a second and look deep into them. And especially now, after reading your perspective on their whole relationship, it really did made half of my hatred go away and understand the relationship wholeheartedly. Like yeah, I absolutely love the trope of one person saying they don't deserve the other person's love but the other person keep loving them anyway, that stuff makes me giggle and swing my legs in the air and shit. It's just that the only way this trope would work for me if the person loving them has enough self-respect for themselves AND if it's a girl in the former & the guy in the latter. And honestly, I found naruto being borderline obsessed with sasuke annoying too but the reason why I can digest it more well is because naruto can go head to head with sasuke without backing down. Like, I wanted to see at least ONCE sakura having a heated argument with sasuke, or punch him in the face in the series. I feel like sasuke deserves a punch from her at the very least 🤷🏽‍♀️
Sigh, I really did wanna love their relationship and their journey to love (that scene of him catching her when she was about to fall and then having that iconic eye contact had me feeling butterflies ngl) since it has all the tropes I love but the execution is just so...
i mean if it helps any i absolutely hate post-canon and that's where my primary divide with most sasusaku fans lies 😭 i'm not sure if you read the blue-plums post i reblogged but it's a good dissection of why exactly it fails as a conclusion to both their individual arcs and their relationship arc generally. the post-canon we see is a direct answer to what sasuke's and sakura's dreams are at the start of the series, but the problem with this is that sasuke and sakura are nowhere near being the same people at the end of the series as they were at the start. generally, i don't think post-canon really takes the individual arc of any character into much account. its primary goal is maintaining the status quo with a slight veneer of friendship power draped over it for aesthetics. but nothing at the root is changed despite every traumatic development the characters were relentlessly subjected to. resultantly, you're left with a portrayal of sasuke as a neglectful father who glorifies the lone-wolf hero trope, which goes against everything he could possibly have learned from itachi; and you're left with a portrayal of sakura as someone content to keep house despite the bulk of her character arc being grounded in her ability and desire to take initiative not only at home, but abroad. it's not true to who either of them is by that point and, even more than that, it's a disservice to everything they've put themselves through for the sake of the love they were vying for. so while i love sasusaku as it progresses up through 699, i tend to wholeheartedly ignore whatever comes after and relegate that instead to either my own imagination or blue-plums's in her fics
what i will say about the naruto and sakura distinction is that a lot of people are more comfortable with how sasuke reacts to naruto bc they believe what naruto is doing is right. it's kind of like: if the only thing sasuke will realistically respond to is violence then obv naruto can resort to that violence without dwelling on it too much. but if you think about violence in the context of sasuke's entire life, it's not actually helpful at all beyond its ability to physically bring him to a grinding halt. even when naruto finally breaks through to sasuke, it's not the violence that makes things click for him. it's the words he says after, and it's the words he's always said before that that have stayed in sasuke's mind. violence, in contrast, is a poisonous thing for sasuke bc it's the only thing that has defined the parameters of his entire life. it robbed him of every person he cared about prior to his meeting team seven, and inevitably it intimidated him into seeking out more violence once he realized that he was incapable of saving the new people he'd come to care about as well. everything, at the root, was driven by sasuke's traumatically-exacerbated response to love and loss. the idea of losing naruto and sakura to the hands of anyone else was unbearable. so he decided that he'd rather have killed them himself. it was absolutely irrational. but a twelve year old child put through that kind of successive, relentless trauma was never going to think rationally, and certainly not after being exploited by people like orochimaru and obito (and to an extent itachi) in turn
all of this to say: there is of course a gendered aspect to the fact that sakura's response to sasuke is markedly not violence. but i also think people sort of refuse to dissect her response any further and esp in context of the narrative itself. despite being the hallmark of rationality within the team and perhaps even the series, sakura was inevitably always driven by the value she placed on humanity. it would've been so easy and rational and "right" to kill sasuke bc he was an insurgent, a terrorist, a danger to public safety, etc. but sakura knew it was more complicated than that. even without knowing about the intricacies of the uchiha massacre she'd been a witness to his suffering and struggle and helplessness. she was as much unable to kill him bc of her love for him as she was unable to kill him bc she knew it wouldn't be right. bc really, what would it solve. sasuke being written off or dying would accomplish nothing bc he would become one more person in the long line of victims to nationalism and the military-industrial complex. while naruto's desire to retrieve sasuke was driven by his love for him it was also driven by the fact that he was stubborn and relentless and refused to give up on people. if you won't believe in yourself i'll beat the belief into you. it's a very shounen-esque trait. in contrast, sakura's desire to retrieve sakura, while also driven by her love for him, was significantly driven by her ability to see that sasuke needed help. in fact, that's all she ever wanted him to get: help. and it would be one thing for this to be an isolated desire but when you read it in context of her own goals as a medic and a mental health professional, her unwavering belief in sasuke is a lot more striking. she was the only person in the entire narrative who never resorted to violence as a solution to sasuke's problems. and she was angry, to be sure. much as she loves him the struggle to bring him back and convince him that he was worthy of love and healing left her emotionally exhausted. but they're also children at the end of the day. she could've been angry at him, or naruto could've been angry him, and in the end none of it would've mattered in the face of knowing they'd finally gotten through to him. he had a smile on his face, he didn't have an arm anymore, and for the first time in his life he met a loss with utter peace and content. it was a thing of miracles after six years of relentless grief and sorrow, and nothing else could've been on their mind.
at the end of the day, team seven's love for sasuke isn't rational. the farthest thing from it, really. but that's what makes it so radical in context. if love in naruto was only ever meant to be rational then hardly anyone would survive. love was always written as an act of defiance and for however subtle the depiction sakura exemplified it
#this is already so long i won't ramble any further in the text bc i've gotten across my point#but tldr you're totally valid! like honestly a lot of sasusaku fans tend to take the full scope of post-canon as gospel and it's infuriatin#and it definitely panders to a lot of gendered stereotypes#the relationship is i think way easier to digest if you isolate 1-699 and then pretend none of the rest exists lol#me personally i want sasuke to go on travels and meet lots of orphans and dedicate himself to humanitarian work#and i want sakura to do her mental hospital thing and research and advocacy at the village#before the projects she works on inevitably extend to intervillage endeavors#it's a nice way for both her and sasuke to explore their respective itches while also doing something that overlaps#with what the other person is doing. i am also a gazillion times more inclined towards them adopting an orphan#than i am towards the idea of them getting traditional married and having a traditional family and birthing traditional babies. boh-ring#i have a post somewhere on my old blog but to Me it would be revolutionary for sasuke to separate himself from the idea that the#only real bonds are those borne in blood. bc all that matters is love. i think adoption would be a really good personification of that idea#also occasionally they can come back to konoha and do silly couple things. like go to the farmers market and plant flowers#and harvest tomatoes. househusband sasuke and workaholic sakura. my dream combination truly#outbox

Nari's Feral on Display Part 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Disclaimer: Chapters mentioned by number are no longer that number Chapter 27 is now Chapter 13.
It punches really hard how she thought about what he had done for her because there she is thinking of him and Sasori still can't believe she gives a damn about him.
Sasori really acts like he is an unlovable monster while looking like a soft K-pop star.
You know I loved murder kitten Hinata.
Can you imagine if I called the technique fucking murder mittens?
I really wished she had exploded more guts
You just want the poor girl to have more trauma, don’t you?
I will love Hinata forever for threatening Itachi with... health care?
Itachi is like, how dare you treat me, doctor.
“I wasn’t planning on getting ambushed.” Kisame defended. “That is my point!" I'm actually laughing like a psychopath. The fucking foreshadowing.
>.> Oh no. What could that mean? We couldn’t possibly have a worse ambush where they left her too far from help and she got hurt… nooo….
Hinata putting up a fight AND MAIMING A SENIOR CITIZEN
Not me dying at this being said when I fucking wrote the scene, and that is what I had her do.
HINATA TOSSING SASORI OVER HER SHOULDER LIKE A SACK OF POTATOES
I love the visual you have painted.
Hinata worked her fucking ass off to keep Sasori alive because she cared about him, she needed him, she owed him. He learned how to maim and kill because of him. He must have meant SO MUCH to her and... did he even know? I mean, he was surprised she even tried, he didn't want her to hurt herself saving him, THIS IS PEAK DRAMA.
Sasori and Hinata in the story have my whole heart for this section of the story because their relationship is so lovely yet so tragic. Sasori is so resistant to trusting her but falls so hard but holds back from ever telling her because he thinks he closed that door years ago when he became a puppet. Hinata gives her whole heart and care because she craves the validation and acceptance that she gets from all of them, especially him because he invested so much time into arguing with her to understand her, and she recognizes that if he didn’t care, he would just ignore her and his badgering and bickering is how he shows love and… GAH they are just really just so tragic.
Because as far from human as Sasori is, he feels, and he loves, and he longs. His skin might not be soft to the touch, but he feels something so tender inside of him at times, and he just doesn't know what to do with this shit.
Can you imagine if Sasori x Hinata was end game and when she wanted to show him affection, she puts her hand over his heart because she knew he could feel it and he was the only one who would trust her to get near it? T-T
I really wished you had talked about Sasori's humanity and what humanity might mean to him, because he wished for immortality and after having it for so long it really weighed on him when he met Hinata and this is so fucked up.
Do you really want me to kill you with that conversation? I think it would kill you to have them talk about it.
When Hinata told him he was her family and that no one wanted her and all he said was "you are too emotional", I really think he wasn't talking only about her. He is emotional about her too and he doesn't know how to deal. And Hinata doesn't understand him at all, and she still cares about him so much it hurts.
I am slowly being convinced that I should just write a spin-off from this point in the story where Hinata doesn’t save Sasuke, so she ends up with Sasori.
Sasori is mostly commenting about her here, about her being too emotional, but he realized that though it is something he would usually hate, in her, it’s something that he loves, something he wants to cling to. He doesn’t want to admit that he wanted her to care enough to come save him. He thought he would die, and that would be his be his cynical confirmation that his love was one-sided.
It kind of is funny, because I don't think he wanted to go away. If he did is becayse feelings are confusing, and feelings are a nuisance when you're trying to be an immortal in peace.
But Sasori was so done (angry as a consequence of concern, yeehaw) with Hinata reaching her limit for him he even brought Itachi up. This is peak cinema.
After this point, where he accepts that Hinata does care about him enough to put herself in harm's way, he becomes a lot softer and shows outwardly that he cares if she gets hurt, not just that she doesn’t die as his teammate and their medic (like he would say if asked when he took her to Suna.)
Meaning Sasori heard everything she said. FUCKING FUCKETY FUCK.
Yeah think about the fact he was there to hear her crying over him… the whole time. Whatever worries she mumbled and whatever she pleaded to keep him alive because she was desperate he would have heard all of that too. WELL, until the next one. :D

I just got into the fandom and I love it so much. However, there are parts where I just cringe. I’m going to be completely honest when I say I can’t see SS being a thing, a healthy one at that. A rumor said that Sasuke always had feelings for Sakura but he didn’t know how to show them because hatred blinded him. I just... find it utterly bullshit. Hell, even I do ship narusasu, I tried to be open minded and not fall too far off canon or the characters. I don’t understand how Sasuke had those feelings for her when all he did was shown the opposite and it felt genuine. He seem always annoyed and pushes her away. She kept forcing her feelings on him when he makes it clear that he’s not interested. I don’t hate the ship because it’s not my ship but because it’s extremely toxic. It feels one-sided (Sakura’s side) more than anything and it’s makes it hard to believe he had those feelings for her. I mean, on the second episode of season five, she confessed and poured out her heart and he blew it off. I cringed hard and was beyond disappointed because she’s making it about herself. That’s literally how I feel about their damn “relationship”. She made it about her and her only. When he’s hurting, it’s about her. It’s so annoying and it makes me see how self-centered Sakura. When she said she understood Sasuke, I wanted to scream (I nearly did but my family is sleeping and I don’t need a lecture.) She doesn’t know Jackshit about Sasuke besides he’s the only survivor of his decease clan, he’s a loner who cares only about himself, and he’s attractive. She’s just like every other fangirl expect she’s on his team. I’m trying my best not to hate her but Damn she’s really pushing it. Anything that annoyed me was that she made it seem like they were dating, again making it about herself and her feelings. She sent Naruto to get Sasuke for her benefits, so she can keep him. Again, disregarding Sasuke’s feelings and what he wanted. Naruto should’ve said “I’ll bring him back because HE wants too, to keep HIM safe, not for you.” I just can’t with this ship. I’m still wondering why the hell is it even a thing? Also find it beyond pitiful how she stayed with Sasuke in Boruto when he left for 12-13 years?! No note. No checking up. Nothing. Hell, Sarada doesn’t know how her own father looks like or the truth of her mother. Both of them were miserable and I find it absolutely ridiculous when SS shippers still say “they’re in love” or they’re OTP. If that’s what true love looks like (good thing it’s not), then I’d die single. I can’t be the only one who thinks this ship is just as bad as Harley Quinn x Joker.
First off, Thanks for this lovely ask @larrycherry04 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I've always wanted to write about this and your ask is the perfect timing.
Disclaimer: SS shippers, Sakura fans!!! Don’t read  this post!!
Me being an SNS shipper, I am just going to write this from a non-SNS perspective. Meaning, I am going to consider Naruto and Sasuke are just friends or rivals.
Bear with my lengthy answer.
Where do I even begin?
A rumor said that Sasuke always had feelings for Sakura but he didn’t know how to show them because hatred blinded him.
I think this rumor is from a light novel called Akatsuki Hiden or whatever shit. But for me, it looks like a pathetic attempt to convince those horny women shippers who would pay any money to read a romance which mirrors their own love life where they desire an ‘unreachable & handsome’ man who has this ‘cool & overbearing’ aura and carries this ‘bad boy badass’ vibe. They would do anything to get the attention from this boy. Until this point is where the reality ends.
What they really wants to happen and fantasize is somehow that handsome man, one day, will look only them and recognize their love and becomes a ‘soft’ guy who would bring the heavens for them and treats her like a princess. That fantasy led them to buy these novels and believe everything while completely disregarding the canon material. And those novels are aimed at these type of women.
You must have been wondering now, ‘I have seen these type of shit somewhere’!!!!!
That’s right.
50 Shades of Grey, Twilight, Beauty and the Beast, 100′s of K-Drama, C-Drama follow this shit romance trope and it’s regrettably fucking popular.
In other words, Don’t believe anything apart from the canonic resources.
Let’s dissect the canon materials about SS.
TEAM 7
This is how it all started
Tumblr media
Does anyone see anything positive here????
Well, I am not.
Sakura wanted to impress Sasuke. Since, Naruto always picks fight with Sasuke, she badmouthed Naruto in the hopes that Sasuke will recognize some common ground with her which may develop into a friendship. But she shot her own foot.
[Regardless, I hated her here and she never redeemed herself, for her being completely insensitive & oblivious towards Sasuke’s life, the boy she loves]
Technically, Sasuke should have said ‘You’re Annoying’ towards Naruto for kissing him before the class and tying him up later. Here, Sakura is simply badmouthing another guy. He, somehow, find this very annoying than anything Naruto did earlier.
Sasuke always had feelings for Sakura but he didn’t know how to show them because hatred blinded him.
Am definitely not seeing any feelings here.
ZABUZA ARC
Alright, much later, somehow Sasuke started to integrate into team 7 and started to see them as a Family. No denial here. He started to care about everyone in his team at some point. Which was evident from the way he thought to himself, ‘That was Sakura’s voice... What is Kakashi doing?’
But does it means he hopelessly fell in love with her??? Nope.
Its just a team camaraderie where he was worried about his teammate. If he has special feelings towards her, he should have said ‘I must go save Sakura’ or something along the line.
But, later in that episode, he went on to die for Naruto and even at his dying moments he didn’t think about Sakura or Team 7. It was all about someone else.
Even seconds before falling into Naruto’s arms, Sasuke was smiling with no regrets.
It was funny very later that after he got up from his temporary death, rather than consoling her like ‘Sakura, Don’t cry. Am alright’ or anything, he was asking ‘Where’s Naruto?’. LOL.
Even much later, when Sakura was asking him about a date, he bluntly said ‘I refuse’.
So, you’re telling me, throughout this arc, a boy blinded with hatred can able to pout, play childish games, train and die for a boy but when it comes to Sakura he can’t show his feelings???
Sorry, I don’t see romance here. Not in this arc.
Whether you agree or not, every parent has their favorite child, every child has their favorite parent. Even within your family, you always have a special person.
For Sasuke, Itachi was that person in his real family. Sakura was not that person in his Team 7 family. It was Naruto.
CHUNIN EXAMS ARC
This arc is where those SS shippers celebrates a lot and I know why. Remember earlier I talked about that shitty 50 Shades of Grey romantic trope??? The following scene vaguely falls under that pattern.
A guy loses his control because of a cursed seal and beats up the guys who hurt one of his teammates which happens to be a girl and calms down after seeing the girl.
That Infamous back hug.
I understand why SS people lose their mind with that scene. And I don’t blame them. I am going to throw their own proof at them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, this First databook, tells us that he finally sees both Naruto and Sakura as comrades and his heart softens from the path of revenge, a little bit.
Definitely, Sakura’s tears or love towards him stopped his rampage. But nothing says about whether Sasuke loves her back.
Much later, Sasuke also stops his cursed seal on his own after thinking about worried Sakura and a screaming Naruto (Who don’t know about this seal thingy at that time).
Well, whatever. That databook has another funny fact, that too in the same page.
Tumblr media
LOL. Weird!!!! This accidental kiss unravels Sasuke’s heart ❤️❤️???? 🤣🤣🤣
So, influencing Sasuke’s heart can be attributed to both his teammates, according to this databook. Atleast upto this arc. There are no special feelings for Sakura alone, guys.
Proof?
Tumblr media
If Sasuke really considers her in a romantic light (this is after that back hug), he doesn’t have to do this at all. Believe me, Love is all about subconsciously or purposefully enjoying or feeling little touches. Those touches can be through eyes, memories or physical. Sakura is delighted with his touch because she loves him but Sasuke just see her as a comrade and keeping his distance but this time very politely.
If Kishi really likes these couple, he doesn’t have to make this scene at all. It’s not just this one instance, he rejected her twice very bluntly before this saying ‘Don’t cling to me!!!’, ‘Sakura, you’re heavy!!!’.
If you say her back hug is a token of romance, then I can say ‘this’ kiss is also a token of romance. You can’t ignore one while keeping the other.
Anyways, at the end of the arc, Orochimaru is the best judge to identify who can change Sasuke’s heart. And that person is not Sakura.
DEPARTURE
she confessed and poured out her heart and he blew it off.
You know what, Larry??? You are 1000% right.
But, atleast, I thought she was genuine in the first part of the proposal, like saying ‘Revenge is not good’.....bla bla.. Because, Revenge will never satisfy a person completely and I agree. Then she took a 180 degree by saying ‘Take me with you, Sasuke-Kun. I’ll make you happy’. This is where I lost it entirely. ‘Alright Bitch, So you really don’t care about his revenge or health. As long as you have the chance to get inside his pants, you are okay with it. So you are okay with Sasuke going to Orochimaru as long as you are with him..... Fucking Shit!!!!’  This is not okay at all.
How did Sasuke respond?
Tumblr media
“Why should I have to tell you anything”
“I’m telling you to keep your nose out of my business”
“Stop bothering me over everything I do”
Ummm..... where I come from, this screams ‘Irritation’ to me. Added to it, throughout the whole conversation he never saw her face. There was evidently no pain or anything from his face. On top the cake, here comes the cherry
Tumblr media
“You really are...annoying”
This is where he saw her face throughout that painful confession before knocking her out. Umm... When you love someone or atleast feel for someone, you will look in their eyes and speak some farewell words before you leave. Or atleast show some pain??? There’s visibly nothing from Sasuke’s face.
Alright, I know what SS wankers will pull out here. That Databook 2 with some vague words. I am going to throw this at them.
Tumblr media
Again, like I acknowledged before, he considers her as a comrade and part of a family. So, her existence also eased his loneliness. But you have to look at the word choice here. “The one that filled his lonely existence was Sakura”. It’s not the ‘Only’ person. Before he left he said ‘Thanks’. Meaning, Thanks for all these days. That’s all between us.
Tumblr media
This piece was about the Team 7 picture. So he acknowledges, he was not alone during his genin days because of his companions and Kakashi (so it’s not just Sakura to ease his loneliness). Whatever he said to Sakura was real.
So can we safely confirm “You’re annoying” is real????
But what’s really interesting is the way Sasuke projects himself before Naruto. I am going to refrain myself from attaching all those rollercoaster of emotions flowed throughout the fight in VoTE 1. Otherwise, it will become an SNS post.
However, this particular scene caught my attention.
Tumblr media
Ummm.... Initially Sasuke walks without looking at Naruto. Then he looks back and answers him.
Naruto was pretty much asking the same question as Sakura. “Why does it come to this?”
But Sasuke pauses and surprised for a moment and asks him pretty much “Why do you care about me?”
Why couldn’t Sasuke do the same with Sakura???? Kishi can pretty much make a panel or two rather than making some insulting panels.
Anyways, If they throw the databook, then I can also throw the same.
Tumblr media
Alright, can someone explain the highlighted sentence for me???? Because I want to confirm whether I have a blurry vision.
Here, Sasuke is trying to punctuate Naruto as a different person from the rest of his companions. ‘his companions as well as that with Naruto’, I mean, Come on!!!! Naruto is also one of your companions along with Sakura. Why differentiate????
‘The village, companions, Naruto,....’ . Again....He is differentiating his home (village), companions (his friends), and Naruto. So who is Naruto for him? What is the need to make exception for Naruto? It’s very clear he is placing Naruto at a high pedestal for some unknown reasons.
Before this Databook dissection, remember I said something about saying Goodbye, ‘ When you love someone or at least feel for someone, you will look into that person’s eyes and speak some farewell words before you leave‘
Tumblr media
Sasuke is doing exactly that here in this scene without saying anything.
Am sorry SS shippers, you can scream all you want about Sasuke knocked her out and left her on the bench. But there was no emotional distraught when he left her. Sasuke seemingly spent a longer time staring at Naruto than looking at Sakura when she confessed.
OROCHIMARU HIDEOUT
Well, there is nothing I can say about here for SS. He pretty much saw her and said, “Sakura, huh?”.. And that’s all. He didn’t give two shits about her.
His attention was completely on someone else.
UNDER THE BRIDGE
She sent Naruto to get Sasuke for her benefits, so she can keep him. Again, disregarding Sasuke’s feelings and what he wanted. Naruto should’ve said “I’ll bring him back because HE wants too, to keep HIM safe, not for you.”
Naruto pretty much said the same thing in this arc, Larry. Naruto, in part 1, was happy for Sakura feeling the same about Sasuke as him, that is ‘To bring him back’. And also sad that his crush really loves someone else. But after Sakura gave up on Sasuke and faking her confession, Naruto decided, ‘Alright, I want to save him personally. I don’t care about our promise anymore”.
This is where, SS ship goes into a crazy ride and it’s not a positive one.
Sasuke was on a rampage. He lost the ability to differentiate between his friends and foes. He stabbed Karin. And when he find her alive, he was about to Chidori her.
And then comes the pink princess, full of lies and deceit. And Sasuke being impatient and disgusted with her lies, he does this
Tumblr media
Well, in part 1, she had a degree of power to change his heart. But not here. He, instead, got riled up more and even tried to kill her without a warning and that too by not looking at her face. Pathetic!!!!
This scene screams ‘Trust issues’ from both sides.
Did it stop here???
Tumblr media
Fucking Shit!!!!!! Is there any people who still ship this nonsense?. If you are a Sakura fan, you should hate her for the lack of trust and backstabbing the person she loves,
If you are a Sasuke fan, errrrmmm.....I have nothing to say. You know what to do.
There is nothing positive here, that can make me ship them. He is killing her like a Mosquito.
If you truly loved someone in the past, even in your darkest moments, you will be honest and you cannot fake before that person.
Proof??
Tumblr media
Here, Sasuke had a clear resolve to kill his brother, Itachi. He lived for this moment for about 8 years and immersed himself in Darkness for 3 years with Orochimaru. He could have run away, dodge or look away from Itachi. But Sasuke simply couldn’t!!! You know why?? Sasuke loved Itachi once more than anything in this world. At this moment, he is letting all those defense loose and embracing the moment and see what Itachi was about to do. Because somewhere in his heart he trusts Itachi.
But killing Sakura doesn’t make Sasuke feel anything. She is just another victim like Danzo or Karin or all those Samurais or a fucking mosquito!!!!
So you are telling me that Sasuke had feelings for her but kept it hidden all along and still tried to kill her like a pest???
Give me a fucking break!!!!
And you all know, who changed Sasuke’s heart here in this scene. It was not Sakura. There’s absolutely no reason for Sasuke to listen to that person and what’s more, Sasuke even made a promise (despite being in darkness, he had it in his heart to listen to that person) to destroy Konoha only after killing that person ..
WAR ARC
Well, this is the arc where Sakura behaves like a rabid dog on heat waiting for Sasuke and shamelessly trying to wag her tails. But Sasuke didn’t give two shits about her, not once or twice but multiple times.
MOMENT 1
Tumblr media
An explosion was about to kill the whole shinobi alliance and this dude wants to save Jugo, his companion and Naruto, the person who will challenge his Revolution, his rival and the one whom he wants to kill. Why only Naruto??? Why not Naruto and Sakura???
Pink cherry Queen doesn’t even crossed Sasuke’s mind.  Because he already threw her away in part 1.
MOMENT 2
Tumblr media
Alright Bitch!!! The entire shinobi alliance was dying on the other side of the battlefield. And this asshole is doing a clownshow before Madara just to get inside Sasuke’s pants????
I mean, Come On!!!!
Well, if Sasuke truly likes her, he should be the one to have catched her or atleast should have asked her, ‘are you alright??’
I am sorry, where are the romantic feelings???
MOMENT 3
Tumblr media
ROFLLLL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For the first time, Kishimoto is trolling those Sakutards through Sasuke’s words, what we, readers were right about all along. He is calling her useless here. And still these fake feminazis trying to ship her with him???
Don’t you guys have any self respect??? If so, this should be the moment to jump out of this trash ship.
MOMENT 4
Tumblr media
Geez!!! You are still on this ship?????
He clearly doesn’t want to save her at all. The hawk can clearly lift 3 people. Sasuke is not even making an effort here.
And you are still yapping that he is blinded by darkness???
MOMENT 5
This is the moment SS calls it as ‘eyesmex’... While in reality, he was just looking at her and silently thanking her for helping him out. Do you know what is a real ‘eyesmex’??? I will attach it at the end.
Tumblr media
If you guys pull this as true love, then he should have stayed in the same love till the end. But Sasuke has other ideas.
Tumblr media
This is the one of the funniest thing in this arc. LOLLLLL
Instead of being relieved that Sakura was saved, Sasuke was wondering about Kakashi’s Susanoo.....and Sharingan.
Do people still think he cares about her????
MOMENT 6
Tumblr media
Am cackling here, while dissecting the sorry state of this ship guys 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!! If something good happens to me because of SS , it’s just the way you guys are making me laugh by making a clown out of yourself!!!!
Do you guys know something? There was a man named Itachi. Before massacring his clan, the very first person he killed was his ‘supposed’ Girlfriend, named Izumi. I wouldn’t say Itachi loved her like a lover boy. It was just one sided on her part. He just talks to her when he finds a spare time and considers her a good friend.
Do you know how he killed her?
By putting her in a ‘Tsukuyomi’. And what kind of Tsukuyomi, you ask?
Tumblr media
Can you see how he fulfilled her dreams gracefully before he was going to kill her???
Why didn’t Sasuke do this???? Why particularly select a murdering genjutsu????
MOMENT 7
Tumblr media
He said it, finally.
He don’t love her at all. There was no hidden feelings. He admitted from his own mouth.
One day later, after the final VoTE battle ends.... After exchanging some intense feelings and even crying tears of happiness with Naruto....
Sasuke tells Sakura, ‘Sorry’....
Ummm.... That’s all???
All those negative shits happened before cannot be solved by just simply saying ‘Sorry’ and ‘Thank you’. If someone has an ounce of self-respect, they should know this is not OKAY at all...🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️
Am Sorry, but Sasuke was just being politely blunt, kind of insincere towards Sakura and turned his attention somewhere else in a matter of minutes. He was not even bothered by Sakura’s tears here. Instead staring at someone on his left. Remember I talked about touching the person physically and visually?
Sasuke is subconsciously or purposefully touching someone on his left through his eyes. Definitely it’s not Sakura. You know who it is. Remember SStards’ infamous ‘eyesmex’... I seriously believe this is a perfect example of ‘eyesmex’.
Tumblr media
All these intense looks and feeling pain still doesn’t serve Sakura, even after pulled out of darkness. If there is a moment, where SS wants to shine, then this is where it should be. He should have told her, how he missed her all along, how he felt about hurting her, should have wiped her tears and some corny shit. But instead, Sasuke went for a long ass monologue for his friend and talking about sharing his pain.
What about your kween’s pain????
You don’t have to ship SNS. But you should know where Sasuke’s priorities are.
It’s not Sakura.
Sasuke said ‘Sorry’ to Karin too. ‘Thank you’ to Kakashi as well.
And what’s even more pathetic is, still Sakura wants to get inside Sasuke’s pants by accompanying him. Bitch, you can help your village, console your best friend Ino who lost her father, try to surpass Tsunade, improve your skills or whatever... Why bother him???
So, if you really think ‘Thank you’ as a token of love, then I can’t help it but term Sakura as a rabid dog who waits for her master to come home and throw some bones whenever he finds time. Your standards for a romantic love is piss poor and you will suffer just like Sakura in Boruto with just emptiness. All Sasuke did was poke her forehead just like Itachi which symbolizes keeping someone at a distance. He also said the same words to her just like Itachi said to him many times ‘Mata kondo da’ meaning ‘Maybe next time’. And we all knew that next time never came for Sasuke.
Now all we see is a Sasuke as an absentee father in Boruto for which I don’t blame him. He was never a marriage material in the first place. Sakura and the Manga Editors forced him and she is paying for it.
Hell, Sarada doesn’t know how her own father looks like or the truth of her mother. Both of them were miserable and I find it absolutely ridiculous when SS shippers still say “they’re in love” or they’re OTP.
All I want to say to SS shippers is, Your Ship Has Sailed Already. You cannot expect Sasuke to go lovey dovey towards Sakura with a 12 year old daughter around and for fuck’s sake, this is not a romance manga, it’s a battle manga. So stop dreaming about this kind of non-existential romance and pull yourself altogether.

Hello!
Recently, in Quora I saw a person bashing Sakura's love for Sasuke. She says that Sakura was so selfish and she doesnt deserve him. Karin deserved him because she was selfless.
Then s/he showed an instance where Kakashi and Obito saved Sasuke and use that as an evidence to tell that Sakura never cared for Sasuke despite she tried to save his life for so many times.
This was that person's thoughts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can you debunk this? 😜
Thanks for sharing this.
Normally, I never read any post past the point - "Karin is a more deserving wife than Sakura because - " 😂
But, I will debunk this one for you.
In Naruto Series, If not Naruto, then it should be Karin.
I have always wondered, when these people make comments like this, do they take Sasuke's feelings into consideration? Because if Sasuke ever gets to read any of this horseshit he will be like -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess his expressions speak for themselves.
Sakura doesn't deserve Sasuke a bit, she only ripped the fruits of Naruto's efforts.
First, Sasuke is not a "fruit" to be ripped 😂.
Second, Was this Anon sleeping in this scene?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does this Anon know how Konoha finally got to know about Sasuke's whereabouts after 3 years? It was because Sakura was willing to "blow off her arms and legs" and get herself stabbed. Just to KNOW ABOUT SASUKE'S WHEREABOUTS. And this was just the beginning of Shippuden, She still continued to try save him, even after he tried to kill her, She never gave up on him. It's explicitly mentioned in the manga.
Also, The next time someone decides to compare Naruto with Sakura, please tell them that THIS SHOW IS CALLED "NARUTO", NOT "SAKURA". He is the one who is SUPPOSED TO TURN EVERY ANTAGONIST TO PROTAGONIST. (Neji,Gaara,Nagato, Sasuke)
Just because it was Naruto, who ultimately saved Sasuke, doesn't mean that Sakura's efforts meant nothing. If it meant nothing, Sasuke wouldn't have thanked her again and again.
Also, by this Anon's logic, Hinata, Konoha, Sasuke and the ENTIRE FIVE SHINOBI NATIONS are ripping fruits from Naruto's efforts. And their efforts during War mean absolutely Nothing.
Sakura ripped fruits from Naruto's efforts. MY ASS.
Sakura and other academy girl's reasons for having crushes on Sasuke that "He's so cool and hot and he can do anything!"
But the reason Karin had a crush on Sasuke in the first place because he saved her from a large bear and smiled at her for a second back in the chunin exams.
I feel like SK fans are TROLLING THEMSELVES whenever they bring up this point.
How does it matter who had a better reason to "start crushing on" someone ? Also, since this anon brought this up, "who has a better reason to love bullshit", Just answer me this question.
Who would you rather fall for?
1. A person with whom you have a relationship like this -
Tumblr media
(And I haven't even added 10% of all SasuSaku Scenes)
Or
2. A RANDOM PASSER-BY who saved you from a bear?
I guess even the SK Fans know the real answer 😂.
Karin's life has been a living hell. She lost her family and her clan, had to watch her mother die from healing too many people at once, and then Karin was forced to become a healer in her mother's place and has been physically abused and bitten by grown men against her will. And then Orochimaru has been experimenting on her, but she has no choice, because she has no family left and nowhere left to go
The fact that Karin's Ufe in an horrible that a simple act of kindness moved her heart. At Karin's darkest time Sasuke is what reminded her that there is indeed good left in the world, somewhere, and it can even smile at someone like her
So... Where did this Anon get this story from?? This was clearly not in manga. Or at least I never read this in manga.
Also... How does this sobstory make Karin a better wife or a better lover to Sasuke than Sakura? This Anon is not making any sense.
I have already talked about it here -
As a teammate Karin was always with Sasuke, To Sasuke his new team was also important, they remained him of team 7.
But, There is a huge difference between Team 7 and Taka. Naruto and Sakura were Sasuke's family. Karin was not.
If you really wanna know the difference between the way in which he treated Karin and Sakura.
You can take a look at this post -
If anyone said that among all the female Sasuke only care for sakura Its wrong Sasuke was always kind towards everyone, jugo wanted to left karin behind during their fight with Killer Bee, but sasuke didn't
Wait a minute. Did you just say -
"Sasuke was always kind towards everyone"
Wikipedia Definition of Kind - "having or showing a friendly, generous, and considerate nature."
This Anon means to say, Sasuke is - "friendly", "generous" and "considerate" TO EVERYONE???
Just. Please. Stop.
I am sorry, but this Anon's understanding of Sasuke's character is hilarious. 😂
Yes, Sasuke had a pure and good heart. But he definitely WASN'T KIND TOWARDS EVERYONE.
Hell... He wasn't even "kind" to Itachi or Naruto or Sakura, whom he loved and cared for so much.
Being Kind is not Uchiha Sasuke's style.
Also, Yes. Sasuke saved Karin. But he always had a more protective instinct towards Sakura.
Again I am asking...How does this make her a better wife for Sasuke?
if u talking about sakura, she doesn't deserve Sasuke at all, she is selfish, what she did to get Sasuke except crying and begging? Nothing
Yeah... This Anon is right... Sakura was definitely selfish.
I mean Just take a deep breathe and think about it -
"Getting yourself stabbed for a stranger(Chiyo) whom you met less than 24 hours ago" - Sakura
is definitely a more selfish act than,
"Refusing to let anyone other than Sasuke bite yourself, even if that person(Tsunade) is literally ripped apart and dying" - Karin
And you are right. She did absolutely nothing for Sasuke.
I mean... It's not like going through harsh training for two years, getting your own bones broken to get stronger, becoming an excellent medic nin to help bring back, willing to blow off your arms and legs, getting stabbed and poisoned, almost dying, doing everything to know his whereabouts, willing to kill the man you love to save him from his own darkness, willing to die in the process, still continuing to love him, even though he tried to kill you, still trying to save him from darkness, Saving him from bleeding to death after his battle with Naruto, despite the fact that he put her in a harsh genjutsu.... means absolutely nothing....Right?
All these efforts go to drain because you don't have a Kyuubi sealed inside you.
Also...Sasuke is a complete fool who goes around thanking and poking random people who did "absolutely nothing for him".
Even kakashi was ready to die for sasuke, she was right beside obito Why didn't she run to save her
Yeah... You are right... She should have run to save Sasuke.
Even if She just saved him from the other dimension.
Even if she was completely chakra exhausted.
Even If She was barely standing few minutes before, because of which Sasuke was holding her.
Even if Kishi wanted this to be a Kakashi-Obito moment, and wanted this to be their farewell scene.
Even if the Author didn't want her to move.
I mean it's not like She couldn't have just popped out of the Sketch and saved Sasuke, if she really wanted to save him.
She is indeed completely selfish.
Seriously, Their logics are blowing my mind.

Paperhearted
Summary: ‘Tch. Who says ‘I love you’ to someone they just met?’ he thinks, frowning all the way home. ‘Annoying.’
But his heart feels caught in quicksand, slowly sinking to his stomach.
She never did tell him her name.
[ModernAU, for @disquieted]

A chill cuts through the autumn air as Sasuke waits for his brother to pick him up. The kindergarten playground is quiet except for the creaking of the swing that he sits on as he waits. With every passing second his mood grows sour. All the other kids had already been picked up long ago, he is the only one still waiting. He wonders if Itachi nii-san will make up for his delay by playing with him when they get home, and suddenly perks up at the thought. In his mind he devises how he will pout and look disappointed to really drive home the guilt, when the silence of the playground is interrupted by a scream.
Startled, Sasuke whips in the direction of the sound. It came from the adjacent woods, and nii-san had told him strictly to never leave the kindergarten campus. Besides, he is only a kid. He will just get in the way, he reasons.
‘Then why am I doing it?’ he wonders as his legs move on their own accord, tugging him across some invisible string to where the sound came from.
As he draws closer, he regains enough control to slow down, and quietly pulls to a stop behind a tree. In the clearing ahead he sees two boys snickering, peering down at something obscured from his view, and he vaguely registers seeing them before around town. They look a year or two older and seem to wear the same school uniform Itachi wears, though mother would throw a fit if she ever saw Itachi’s clothes so rumpled and untucked.
“Boo-hoo, look at little strawberry shortcake crying.” one of them mocks.
“Ooh! Leave the cat alone!” the other squeals in a high-pitched imitation, “Well how do you like being in its place then?” he finishes in his normal voice, aiming a kick forwards.
He sees her then, as she falls sideways from the blow, into his line of sight.
Pink hair (pink! ) falling out from her red ribbon, teeth biting her lower lip to keep from crying out, and the brightest green eyes he has ever seen brimming with tears and the determination to not let them fall.
The first boy, egged on, aims another kick at her stomach. She closes her eyes shut tightly and gasps when his foot connects. Sasuke feels his heart clench. He wants to help, but there are two of them and only one of him. They’re older too. It would be stupid to engage.
‘I’m not stupid.’ he thinks. ‘I’m not stupid!’ he repeats.
Her eyes open and they are glassy and unfocussed. He watches as her gaze travels dimly across the landscape around her till she spots him and stills. All of a sudden the clarity of the world around him shifts, and Sasuke feels like he is waking into a dream. She holds his gaze, and then a single tear falls down her swollen cheek.
“I’m not stupid!” his mind echoes again. Only this time he isn’t thinking it, he is screaming it from his lungs as he charges across the clearing into one of the bullies.
By the time he has regained his sense of time and place, his fist has already connected with the face of the boy who kicked her the second time. Sasuke isn’t sure where he mustered the strength because the boy flies back a full two feet, planting face first into the ground. Around him, the boy’s accomplice and the girl both stare at the scene that just unfolded in shocked silence. Then the stillness of the moment is shattered as both the bullies scream, and scramble to get away.
Sasuke is heaving from the rush of what has just transpired, and watches as the boys make their escape. Behind him, the girl lifts herself off the ground and sits up. He turns to face her.
She is looking at him quizzically and he can’t say he blames her, he himself is unsure of what possessed him. But looking at her, eyes and cheeks swollen, hair and clothes in disarray, a tear-trail cutting across a muddied cheek, he can’t bring himself to regret it.
“Your hand...it’s bleeding.” she says, softly.
Sasuke frowns and looks down, and indeed she is right. There is a gash across his knuckles, angry and red.
Slowly she gets up, and limps towards him. Reaching out, she gingerly takes his bleeding hand into her own and looks at it thoughtfully. Then she retreats one hand to pull out the ribbon in her hair, and ties it around his knuckles. She releases his hand and immediately he feels bereft, though he isn’t sure why.
“Um, thank you.” she says shyly.
Before he can open his mouth to respond, they hear commotion in the distance.
They turn towards the sound to see the two boys from earlier staggering back towards them...with three other friends in tow. Sasuke doesn’t know where his strength came from earlier, but he is doubtful he can summon it again. Especially against five older opponents.
They look at each other. There is an understanding.
And then they run.
They race through the woods with reckless abandon, hair flying in the wind. Beside him he hears her laugh as they are running, and he has half a mind to ask her what exactly she finds funny about this, but he is laughing along too. There is something so freeing and young about the whole situation. They run without thinking, giggling every time they glance back at the group giving chase. Every few moments they are drenched in sunlight breaking past the canopy, before plunging into the shade again. Despite her beating, the girl manages to keep up pace, never falling more than two steps behind him. From the corner of his eye, Sasuke spots the kindergarten playground in the distance, and a lone figure standing in the center.
‘Nii-san!’
Swiftly he grabs her hand and breaks perpendicular to their trajectory, pulling her along with him. They run until they make it out of the woods, and Sasuke grins at the sight of Itachi looking confused to see his brother racing out of the woods with a girl in tow. The boys chasing them exit the woods not long after, hot in pursuit, before halting at the sight of Itachi.
Sasuke pulls the girl with him to stand behind his brother. Itachi glances at the pair, then at the pursuers, and quickly catches on. He stares at the boys and quirks an eyebrow, and that is enough. Itachi may be a gentle soul, but everyone knows better than to mess with him. In an instant they are scrambling to disperse from the playground, mumbling hurried apologies to Itachi. From behind him, Sasuke and the girl look at each other, and then break into full-bellied laughter.
Amused, Itachi bends down on his knee, “Care to explain what’s going on, little brother?”
Sasuke turns to him to answer but notices Itachi is looking downwards. He follows his brother’s gaze to where his hand is still wrapped around the girl’s.
Immediately he drops it and jumps a foot away.
Blushing and embarrassed, he explains to his brother what happened. Itachi listens patiently and then turns his attention to the grl. “Are you okay?” He asks. Mutely, she nods.
Before anything else can be said and done, a woman bursts onto the playground.
“Oh my god, there you are!” she exclaims, and runs to take the girl in her arms, “We’ve been looking all over for you!”
Moving back from the hug to take a look at her state, the woman gasps. “Sweetie, what happened?”
“Some boys were picking on me. He helped.” she says in a small voice, pointing her finger at Sasuke.
“Oh dear, thank you so much.” says the older woman as she pats him on the head. “She just wandered off. We were worried sick!”
“Come along now, sweetheart, we have to be on our way.” says the woman that Sasuke assumes is her mother, as she gently tugs her along in the direction of a car waiting by the roadside, a man standing by its side and waving.
“Wait!” the girl cries, and then turns to him, “What’s your name?” she asks, a desperate urgency ringing in her voice.
Sasuke knows because he feels it too.
“Sasuke!” he yells after her, because she is already halfway across the playground, “What’s yours?”
She breaks into the widest grin.
“Thank you, Sasuke-kun!” she yells back, “I love you!”
Her mother laughs loudly, and beside him Itachi huffs in amusement too. Sasuke is stunned, and can only stare as she gets into the car and drives away.
She has already disappeared over the horizon before his senses return.
‘Tch. Who says ‘I love you’ to someone they just met?’ he thinks, frowning all the way home. ‘Annoying.’
But his heart feels caught in quicksand, slowly sinking to his stomach.
She never did tell him her name.
x
There is a rumor spreading across their middle school that Sasuke likes girls with long hair, and he knows exactly what prompted it.
He jogs back from the track to the sidelines, breathing heavily, and then runs through his stretches. A brief cool-down later, he returns to the locker-room, trading in his sweaty track clothes for his standard school uniform. He finishes buttoning up his shirt, puts on his tie, and then reaches into his locker for one last thing.
He pulls out a red ribbon, and ties it around his hand.
Beside him, Naruto quips—
“Are you ever going to tell me why you wear that thing?” he asks, gesturing to the ribbon.
“Hn.” Sasuke grunts in the way of an answer.
“You know all your fangirls think that ribbon is reserved for your one true love , and if they make you fall in love with them you will tie that ribbon to their hair?” he questions, clasping his hands together in a decidedly feminine gesture for dramatic effect.
Sasuke rolls his eyes as he strolls out of the locker-room, with Naruto following behind him.
“I’m serious!” he insists, “I’ve seen them role-playing it after school!”
They settle into their seats for their next class, and Naruto pesters him again.
“Well? Is it true?” he wiggles his eyebrows, “Is this about a girl?”
Sasuke lets the question slide as he turns his attention out of the window. The horizon is endlessly far and there is a pang in his chest. If it’s about a girl, then it’s a girl he has never met again.
He never saw her again after that day, and figured she had only been visiting. As distinctive as her hair was, he was only a kid and the world was just too big to go looking. He doesn’t even know why he is looking, why even after all this time there is a feeling that something has been lost.
‘I’m a fool.’ he thinks, staring off into the distance.
“Or maybe it’s auntie Mikoto’s? Does leedul Sasu-cakes miss his mwommy?” Naruto continues to speculate.
Sasuke promptly smacks his best friend’s face into his desk.
x
Sakura watches Ito walk out from the classroom. He pauses briefly at the door, and turns around to flash her a forced smile that she returns with just as much strain. As soon as he is gone, she sinks into her seat. The love letter he wrote sits unopened in front of her. She is grateful, at the very least, that he chose to approach her after class when they had been alone. Others had not been so courteous, and her heart had lurched with each shake of her head in front of an audience of merciless classmates.
Not long after he is gone, Ino pokes her head into the room. Finding it bereft of anyone except her friend, she invites herself in.
“Well? What did he say? Actually nevermind that, what did you say?” her best friend interrogates her, and Sakura has no doubt she had been lurking just outside the classroom. She simply looks at the blonde and frowns.
“Seriously, forehead? Again?” exasperated, Ino plops down on the chair in front of her. “How many hearts do you intend to break, huh?”
“Why don’t you at least give someone a shot? What are you waiting for?” she eggs on.
Heaving a deep sigh, Sakura stares up at the ceiling. ‘What am I waiting for?’
“Earth to forehead? Hello? Anyway, since you’ve declined everyone who asked, you can be my date to the festival. Sai-kun will understand, he doesn’t care much for this stuff anyway.” Ino declares while inspecting her nails.
Sakura smiles at her friend.
“No, pig, you and Sai should go,” Sakura says, “I don’t think I am going anyway, I have to prepare for the university entrance exams.”
“Are you kidding me? Sakura, this is our final year of school. How can you miss the spring festival?” Ino is appalled.
Leaning back on her chair, Sakura scoffs. “It’s our final year, that’s why we need to study. We’ll have fun in college, okay?”
“You take this way too seriously, forehead. Are you that eager to leave us and run away to some big city?”
Sakura falters. A memory resurfaces. Being five years old, visiting her aunt in Tokyo, running through the woods, and then leaving much, much too soon.
To her relief, Ino isn’t waiting for a response.
“Well, let’s at least get some ice-cream on the way home.” she says, getting up. Smiling, Sakura joins her as they walk out of the empty classroom. “Just be careful Sak, the rate at which you’re going, you’ll end up passing right by your soulmate.” Ino says jokingly.
Sakura laughs along and tries to smother the voice inside her that says she might already have.
x
Sasuke finishes his last class for the day and unhurriedly strolls to his academic supervisor's office. He pauses in front of the office door and glances down at his watch. Two minutes late, not that it made a difference considering his supervisor. He knocks.
“Come in,” a lazy drawl beckons.
Sasuke walks into the office. “You asked to see me?” he inquires.
Hatake Kakashi leans back in his chair. “I did, have a seat.” he motions, “So Sasuke, have you given any thought to what you want to do after university?”
Sasuke shrugs.
Kakashi sighs and leans forward, resting his elbows on his desk. “Sasuke. You’re an excellent student, your grades are flawless, and you have so much potential. But all of that is lost if you have no ambition.” Kakashi looks at him with the slightest hint of frustration in his bored eyes, “You have a year of university left. Give it some thought. Ask yourself what gives you purpose.”
Sasuke nods, agreeing simply to end the meeting faster. Anticipating that he won’t get through to him, Kakashi dismisses him, promising to have another catch up after his mid-terms.
Sasuke walks out of the office, his book bag slung carelessly over one shoulder. Despite himself, he is pondering over the brief lecture he just received.
Ask yourself what gives you purpose.
“Tch.” Sasuke scowls in annoyance, and then halts his stride.
Though the scene itself plays in his mind like a vignette, blurry and faded at the seams, he still remembers the feeling of throwing his body forward on instinct, pushing off the bully from the girl fallen on the ground. He remembers standing between them and knowing with unflinching clarity that he had done the right thing. He sighs in disbelief at himself, even after all these years, living his life based on a stupid childhood memory.
On the way back to his dorm, he picks up a form for the police academy.
x
The announcer’s voice calls over the PA system, alerting the passengers on the train of the upcoming station.
Closing her book and stashing it in her bag, Sakura prepares to disembark. She glances at the door nearest to her, but finds it already packed with the rush-hour crowd, each one eager to be the first one out the doors when they open.
Instead of swimming through the hoard of people, she chooses to cross over to the only slightly less crowded adjacent compartment, hoping to deboard from there. Rubbing shoulders with the others that had the same idea, she traverses the narrow section that bridged the two coaches. Instantly, she feels a shift.
Anticipation coils in her stomach and all her nerve endings are firing in an urgent panic. It feels like crossing into a different world. ‘What is it?’ she thinks, trying to pinpoint the cause of her alarm. And then she spots it. On the far end of the compartment, peering into his phone, eighteen years older than the last time she saw him but nonetheless unmistakable, him .
She feels the urge to scream, but his name is caught somewhere between her lungs and her mouth. In the background, the speakers announce the opening of the doors.
Sakura feels the push from the people around her, and she feels like she is caught in the current of the sea, being sucked under again and again with nothing to hold on to, the water swallowing her voice. All of a sudden time slows to a standstill, and she watches as he lifts his head and looks in her direction. Their eyes meet.
There is a quiet murmur in her heart that she has carried with her most of her life. The one that piques up each time she thinks of him. The one that tells her it is all in her head, that he has already forgotten, that she has been building castles in the air all along. She feels that voice surface again, but then she sees his eyes widen, mirroring the alarm in her own.
He lifts his hand, and she catches a glimpse of an old familiar ribbon. The treacherous voice in her heart is silenced.
But the current around her persists, and she feels the tug of the crowd pull her along through the doors. One again she is five years old, watching helplessly as the distance between them grows.
She watches as he tries to wade through the crowd to reach her, but she has one foot on the train and one foot on the platform, and she knows he won’t make it. So, she decides to take this chance to answer a question she left unanswered many years ago.
She cups her hands around her mouth and yells, “Sakura!”
In the next moment, she is on the platform and the doors are closing. Rooted in place, she watches as the train begins to move and another chance slips away. An overwhelming sense of grief washes over her, but in the midst of her heartache is a small bud beginning to bloom.
‘He remembers.’
x
The day has not been going well for Sasuke. It started with being roped into attending a celebration with his batchmates to commemorate their passing out from the police academy. His social battery had long since run out, but the day wasn’t over. His parents had invited him to their home to celebrate his graduation with their extended family. Unfortunately, the celebration with his classmates dragged on longer than anticipated, and he had ended up missing the train that would have taken him to his parents home. Now he was forced to board a different train instead, one that required him to deboard and connect to a different line midway, and he had to do it during the evening rush hour.
‘Just great.’
Standing cramped against the back of the compartment, Sasuke distracts himself on his phone and hopes for the journey to end as quickly as possible. Twenty minutes into the ride, he has drowned out all the nearby chatter, the announcements over the speakers, the screech of the train wheels slowing down to a stop. Then he feels it, the shift in the air.
As if his body already knows what his mind is yet to discover, his gaze lifts from his phone to the other end of the compartment where the people planning to deboard are crowding. And there she is, bright green eyes, looking at him.
He hears his heart thumping in his ears.
He sees the surprise in her eyes, along with the slightest tinge of hesitation. On instinct, Sasuke lifts his hand over the bobbing heads in the crowd, to show her the faded red fabric that he has held on to for the last eighteen years, and watches as the doubt in her eyes dissolves. But all too soon the crowd begins to move, pulling her along. He sees the panic building in her eyes, and he is already pushing through the crowd to reach her. The divide between them is just too wide though, and he can feel time slipping through his fingers like sand. He has felt this feeling before, though he was too young then to understand its gravity. The weight of watching the course of your life change before your very eyes, like a train shifting tracks, moving away from what could have been.
She must know he wasn’t going to make it too, because just as she is being swept through the doors, she turns around and shouts—
“Sakura!” —the answer to a question long unforgotten.
In the next moment, she has bled out with the crowd, the doors have closed, and all the air in the cabin has left with her.
Sasuke watches in agony as she gets further and further away, unmindful of the people around him staring at his crazed state. He races out of the train at the following stop and catches the next one headed in the opposite direction back to where he lost her. He steps foot on the platform and is overwhelmed with the desire to run in every direction at once, but despite all his searching, he doesn’t find her.
Exhausted, he plops down on a station bench. Despite everything, in his defeat there is a sliver of redemption.
‘She remembers.’
x
A chill cuts through the autumn air as Sasuke crouches behind the boxes piled in the warehouse, waiting for backup. What started as a low-stakes inspection of a tip-off evolved into a drug bust gone very wrong. Beside him, Juugo coordinated with the en-route backup while Sasuke kept lookout, monitoring the movements of the cartel as well as searching for Suigetsu and Karin, their two other officers who had splintered off early into their inspection.
"Ten minutes." Juugo confirms the status of the backup's arrival and Sasuke nods.
Just then there is a commotion, and Sasuke feels a chill run down his spine as one of the cartel members drags Karin out to the center of the room.
"Found her hiding behind the loading dock!" he announces. There is a brief pause of contemplation before a man, that Sasuke assumes is the kingpin, announces—
"Pack everything up, we're clearing out."
There is a flurry of activity as the men follow what they have been instructed. Sasuke grinds his teeth, but keeps his eyes trained on Karin.
"What do we do with her?" asks the man who dragged her in and is still keeping her arms pinned behind her.
The leader gestures to the man on his right, "Kill her. Put the body in one of the crates."
'Shit.'
The man nods, and Sasuke stiffens at the sound of the gun cocking.
He watches as tears stream down Karin’s face as she looks into the barrel of the gun. This time around, his feet want to remain rooted to the ground. There is no tug, no reckless abandon from his youth. But there is a sense of duty, and so, Sasuke leaves the sanctuary of his hiding spot and tackles the armed man to the ground. In no time at all, the entire warehouse springs into action, and multiple men launch themselves at him. Sasuke parries a blow from one, and maneuvers to throw the goon over his shoulder, while Juugo provides cover by firing from his spot behind the crates. In the distance, Sasuke can hear the sirens of police cars nearby, but each passing moment has slowed down to be an eternity long. From the corner of his eye, he sees Suigetsu use the cover of the chaos to pull Karin away from the action and he breathes a sigh of relief.
In the next instant there is a searing pain in his side, and whatever little relief he felt is replaced by agony. Though he is aware of exactly what has conspired, Sasuke doesn’t look down, because seeing where the bullet went through him would make everything a little too permanent. His knees hit the floor just as the warehouse fills up with an influx of police officers. The call of duty that pushed him this far finally eases up, and Sasuke ceases his struggle against his body and mind. Lying on the cold concrete floor, Sasuke offers a quiet apology to his family for the pain he is going to cause them, and in the final moments of his consciousness, he wonders if the afterlife will be small enough to go searching for green eyes.
x
“Paging all Emergency Medicine staff. Please report immediately to Trauma Bay One, I repeat—”
Sakura pauses mid-signature as the announcement blares over the speakers, right as her pager begins to beep. Quickly closing the chart she was working on, she sprints off in the direction of the trauma department.
Arriving on the scene, she runs up to the attending surgeon, “What’s going on?” she asks, out of breath.
“There was an encounter between the police and a drug cartel downtown. We are receiving multiple gunshot victims.” answers Tsunade, “Kenji take the first one, Sakura you’re in charge of the second, I’ll take the third.” she orders, just as the paramedics pull up to the bay.
The first gurney rolls in carrying a man bleeding from his leg, with his hand tied to the side of the stretcher with handcuffs. Sakura guesses he is one of the cartel members as Kenji breaks off to inspect his patient. The second gurney brings in Sakura’s patient, also in handcuffs, with a bullet in his shoulder and a deep gash across his forehead. Sakura runs to his side as they roll him towards the operating theater. Behind her she hears the third patient being rolled in.
“He is one of ours, he was shot during the encounter.” an accompanying police officer tells Tsunade.
She feels a familiar tug at her heart.
Turning around, she catches the briefest glimpse as the nurses roll him away, but it is enough. She is always looking for that face, after all.
Her heart sinks to her stomach.
x
As wakefulness slowly seeps into his consciousness, Sasuke struggles to remember where he is and what happened. Then the pain kicks in and all his memories resurface. Slowly blinking his eyes open, he takes in the harsh, clinical white of his hospital room ceiling, tethered to consciousness by the routine beeping of the machines he is hooked up to.
Near his abdomen is a lopsided sensation. On the side he was shot is a searing pain, the sensation of an open wound replaced by that of his skin being uncomfortably stretched and sown. On the other side is a dull, weighted pressure.
He looks down to see a figure in blue scrubs sitting by his bedside, head resting on his side, and a waterfall of pink across his middle. The pace of the heart monitor picks up.
Slowly, the slumbering form rouses, awakened by the broken rhythm of the beeping. Sasuke watches as her brows furrow, trying to hang on to the fading traces of sleep. Her eyelids take their time to open, and the wait as they flutter is utter agony. Then she glances up at him, and her eyes widen as realization dawns upon her. There it is, he thinks, that brilliant green.
“You’re awake.” she says, breathlessly.
Without waiting for a response, she lifts her head from his side and immediately he misses the pressure. She pushes back the chair she has been sitting in and jogs out of the room. His heart panics like a caged animal and he wants to call after her, but his throat is parched and no sound comes out. In a few moments she returns, and in her hands is a familiar red ribbon.
“They had to cut you out of your clothes to operate, but I thought you might want this back so I kept it.” she tells him as she places the ribbon at his bedside table and pours a glass of water. She brings it up to his lips and he hungrily drinks it up, relishing how it drowned the thorns in his throat.
“Thank you.” he says, voice still hoarse. She smiles lightly in response as she sets the glass back on the table, then settles back into the chair she had been occupying before.
There is a pause.
Much of him is still suspended in disbelief. All these years he spent looking, only to wake up to her suddenly by his side. He can see the turmoil in her eyes too, as she stares at him with a frown, biting her lip as she searches for something to say. What do you even say to someone you have spent your whole life searching for but know nothing about, he wonders.
“I waited,” she says abruptly, and then shrinks just a little, like she surprised herself by the confession, “at the train station, I mean” she adds, as if trying to lighten the intensity of what she said. They are still strangers after all. In his mind, the memory of an ‘Iloveyou’ screamed across a playground echoes back.
“Aa.” he nods in agreement, “I did too.”
‘At the station, at the playground, at every turn and intersection, in every crowd’ , but he leaves that part out.
She smiles the sweetest, softest smile, and he decides it was all worth it for this alone.
“I should go now, I have rounds.” she glances at the door, “I’ll let Tsunade know you’re awake, she’ll want to check on you.”
“But after my shift I could swing by with some dinner, if you’d like?” she asks bashfully, “It’s only hospital food, but I have some seasoning packets I keep in my locker that make it a little bearable. But if you want to rest instead that’s totally okay, you’ve been through a lot and—”
“Sakura” he interrupts her rambling, “Dinner sounds good.”
She beams, and it’s a brand new start.
x
“Who says ‘I love you’ to someone they just met?” he asks out of the blue.
They’re on the couch in the living room, in the apartment they’ve been sharing for the past two years. He is turned towards the TV while she is deep into a book, sitting with her back pressed into his side, legs thrown over the arm of the sofa.
She scoffs at his question.
“What kind of a battle-cry is ‘I’m not stupid’?” she challenges back.
When he doesn’t respond to her jab she cranes her neck to look back at him, and finds there is no mischief in his eyes, only a solemn intensity. She closes her book and sits up, turning around to face him fully.
“Hm.” she says as she ponders, “I’m not sure.”
“I just...felt something big.” she says, “It felt like you were slipping away before I even had a chance to hold on and I was desperate to make you understand what I was feeling— and love was the only thing that seemed big enough.”
He nods like he knows exactly what she means, and she smiles.
“Besides,” she says, throwing her arms around his neck and leaning in close enough to brush her nose against his, “I was right, wasn’t I?”
“Hn.” he gives her a sideways smile, and closes the distance between them.
Fin.
AN: A mediocre execution of the extraordinary @disquieted‘s beautiful story idea. Thanks my love! And happy SS month to everyone! I love this community so much and I am so excited to see what’s in store.

THE LAST (what a waste of time)
These are, from my point of view, some inconsistences I found from this movie. Not a proper analysis, just my thoughts.
I dont know where to start but first with Naruto.
I have seen all the Shippuden Movies, from 1 -Death of Naruto , to this one number 7. Almost in all these movies there was a princess or a girl who will be his "companion" across the events of the movie. We had Shion, Amaru, also the Snow princess- movie 1 from Part 1- and etc. In all of them, Naruto had chemistry with them. Not an amazing relationship since we have short time, an 1 hour and half, but there wasn't this akwardness and discomfort around the female co-protagonist.
With Hinata this happened. The Naruto we saw here, it's completely different from the person and shining boy we see until 479. I know, 2 years passed but in Shippuden 3 years passed , and we saw the transition from a kid naruto -12 yo.- to a 15/6 y.o. boy entering in adolescence. Two different evolutive stages, and yet he was the same shingin boy we know; of course he matured AND HE MATURED WITH SO MUCH MORE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE.
There are many fact wrong in this movie. First, across the whole thing he looks almost desolated, very quiet and akward. Coy, someone who doesnt know how to interact with hinata despite the fact that across all the manga, he never had problems to deal and talk with her.
Anyway, then we have Sakura insulting, because that what she did, him and saying that maybe "he doesnt know what love is" and Naruto also nods, to don't know what Love is. We are talking about the same Naruto, at age of 12, who made Zabuza Momochi cry
Tumblr media
Then we have Sai, saying that when Naruto was whispering Hinata's name in dreams, Sai heard his sentimental spot, he didn't know Naruto had. And It was helping. Again, we are talking about the same naruto who said this to Sai
Tumblr media
And I could quote many other scenes but this will be too long.
Then it takes just 30 minutes from the start of the movie to Naruto to "realize" with a epiphany of Jesus, that he ...loves hinata. What I see here is a glimpse of guilt tripping.
Other Inconsistence. they had to make Naruto fall in a Genjutsu -which theorically jinchuriki can not!- in order to let him realize Hinata was in love with him. Also, with the experience of Game of thrones ( i know, i know 2 totally different things but) but with the last shitty season they used the same resource that it was used here. Spit all the facts in your face, again and again just in case you dont forget that naruto HAS to fall in love with Hinata. Because we have this forced scenes between them all the damn time, at the expense of a Naruto totally ooc who can not interact properly with a mate that he knows since genin times. Also we have this recurrent scene from the academy Days, which was never shown on the manga, about some Iruka's class always repeating the quote "Whom would you spend your last day on earth?" Also, they made us recall a love confession that happened ALMOST 3 YEARS AGO, pain's arc, in which Naruto was absolutely indifferent about it until 699.
And it's not even that in these 2 years between movie and anime finale, that we see some approachment and more development between them (same with SS) because IS IN THE MOVIE, in this like 2/3 days that movie events takes place, where Naruto """realizes""" about Hinata's feelings. He literally just took days xD And it's inconsistent because with Sasuke he toook YEARS to set his true feelings AND EVEN THO when Sasuke asked him what A FRIEND means to him? He didn't know how to put that in words.
Following this logic, if a """friend""" took him all this time, i can imagine how it would be with the love of your life.
Also, worth to mention. All the Moon-symbolism stolen from Sasuke's figure. Across the last arc of manga we had a strong portrayal of how Naruto and Sasuke were Sun and Moon respectively.
Tumblr media
* Another inconsistence, Naruto doing the ShadowClone jutsu at that short age. Yes, he doesn't make them properly but they were better that what we have seen in Naruto Episode 1. Also, in this movie he did 2 clones, mini clones, but they were capable of speaking, moving, and they were identical to naruto, the only flaw was the size. In episode 1, what he made was a really bad-almost dead-copy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now some really random stuff that when i was watching this, i thought for a moment this was like Dragon ball.
-Why the fuck they had to fight ON THE SURFACE OF THE MOON? This was IDENTICAL to that episode from Power Rangers Red Forever where all the red rangers fight on the moon surface in order to defeat the bad guy.
I know this is fiction, and we are in fictional world. But naruto never went that far to talk about astronomical phenomena such as "THE MOON IS FALLING IN PIECES AND METHEORS ARE FALLING FROM THE SKY" and we.. We plan on destroying the moon.
Yes, I remember Tsukuyomi Infinite and stuff, but this is very different and came out SP asses.
In conclusion, I think i'm forgetting some things but anyway. This is a bad movie, what a surprise, not JUST because of the ship -i mean yes jeje- but because of all the inconsistences, the out of characterization, the rush on making naruto fall in love with hinata at expenses of some guilt, akwardness, and in 30 fucking minutes.
For being the only Naruto canon movie, it's very poor. I could quote Bonds #2 movie, Naruto's Death #1, Last Tower #4, even Road to ninja, as better material with better plots than this one.

I love your blog. I have three questions for you. What made you start to ship sasusaku? What do you like about both characters? What is your 5 favorite sasusaku scenes?
Hi nonny,
Thank you so much! 💕🤗
When I read your questions, memories of a 14-year-old-self-Flah came to the surface and that helped me answer your questions. 😁
So, let's go:
What made you start to ship sasusaku?
Ok, I stumbled upon Naruto (classic) a long time ago and the first time I saw Sakura and Sasuke interacting was in the Land of Waves arc.
Two scenes made me fall in love: Sasuke moving in front of Sakura to protect her and Sakura crying over him. I got some star-crossed lovers vibe right there. 😍
When she ran towards his supposed lifeless body, my heart clenched for her. 😭 I was just chanting in my mind "nononono this can't be true, they didn't even begin! It's not fair!" something along those lines.
By the end of that heart-wrenching scene, I just knew they were meant to be together. The misunderstood bad boy needed the soft-ball-of-sunshine good girl beside him. 🥺💕
After that arc, I started watching the anime from the beginning and I was already shipping them without even knowing what shipping was.
But if we are summing up, I would say: the subtle way Sasuke cares about Sakura, always protecting her, and how Sakura cares/worries for him, trying to provide him the warmth and support of a family, sealed the deal for me. 😄
What do you like about both characters?
🍅: Sasuke's loyalty to his family (he was misunderstood, misled and lied to, but all the time he wanted to honor his family). His bluntness (ok, it might hurt to hear the truth sometimes, but many times we need to and I don't know, I feel this doesn't happen as often these days). His way of caring for his precious people (Sasuke cares too much - and not too little how people think - and he doesn't need to parade his feelings to show that. No one needs spectators intruding in those moments. He shows his love through the little things and when/where is most important).
🌸: Sakura's determination! (check that post, it's amazing). Her character development or should I say it, her glow up! (also - confession time here, her pre-teen years were kind of relatable 😳). Her kindness (she's so good!) and intelligence: the scenes where she creates an antidote for Kankuro? 🤯 And she finding Kakashi below in the second bell's test? 🤯 And figuring out things during the fight with Sasori? 🤯 She's a real strategist! And last, but not the least, Sakura never giving up on Sasuke and wanting to save him from his darkness. 💕
What is your 5 favorite sasusaku scenes?
This was so hard 😭 why only five? Why did you do this to me?🤣 After some time, I settled for these 5 scenes:
1. Forest of Death: The moment they squeeze hands and Sakura helps him through the exorbitant pain. The whole sequence from when they are alone until Sakura takes him to somewhere safe pulls at my heartstrings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Land of Waves - I talked about that scene on the top of the post, so yeah. The moment Sasuke realizes someone cares if he dies was significant to me.
Tumblr media
3. Back to Forest of Death - Please... Stop...
I'll quote the Databook 1 for this scene, because it says everything:
「呪印の影響で暴走するサスケを身を挺して鎮めるサクラ。サクラのサスケを想う心が、邪な力を包み込む。」(translation by Nobusaki) (Databook 1 RAW can be found here)
"Sakura who [voluntarily (bravely)] calms the rampaging Sasuke under the influence of the cursed seal. Sakura’s heart that thinks of Sasuke devours the malevolent/wicked power."
Tumblr media
4. The Bench scene - Because it's a pivoting moment and I'm a sucker for confession scenes. Guys, he could have ignored her and left like fifteen minutes ago, but he's hesitating! Also, his eyes are shadowed/hidden, he's not showing Sakura his feelings because he's resolute in leaving.
And here's when we get that fundamental quote from Databook 2:
「孤独だった自分の存在を愛情という想いで満たしてくれたのがサクラだった。だが、その想いに応えることはやはりできない。サスケは、ただ一言の感謝の言葉を、別れの言葉として告げることしかできなかったのだ。」 “The one who filled his lonely existence [for him] with the emotion called love was Sakura. But, as expected, Sasuke cannot respond to her feelings. Sasuke was only able to leave a single word of thanks as word of parting."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was going to choose the war scene, featuring that chef's kiss catch and SasuSaku eyesmex for my top 5, but I couldn't because...
5. The Poke - nothing better than Sasuke canoninzing SasuSaku, huh?
Tumblr media
Ahhh this might be my longest post ever (that is not a list)!!! I hope you enjoyed reading my answers. This took me longer than I expected to put together but I had a lot of fun re-analyzing all the 🍅🌸 moments and remembering when I saw them for the first time. 🥺❤
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 😊
See you next time ;) 👉
xoxo

Don'cha think it's annoying how people compare nobara and sakura and say nobara is 10x cooler and better than sakura events though their different ppl, like wtf??? Sakura is strong and badass already tsk tsk
Its not only you anon, I too feel exactly the same.
Tumblr media
Okay anon, I am going to rant a bit here, so please bear with me. I have got sick of these ill-found and rabid comparisons of Nobara and Sakura. I have typed this based on that.
To be honest, both are really good in their own rights. Sakura is a very divisive character and has a diverse of emotions. She is so realistic and I can't even really stress on the fact. Nobara is just normal and doesn't get strayed by emotions that easily, and overall, both are really badass characters. They ARE badass in their own ways, no cap in that. Afterall, they both are from two freaking different verses and have been written by two different authors. Kishimoto sensei's style of writing females are far different from what Gege sensei writes.
What both Nobara and Sakura have undergone are different. People don't factor their circumstances and situations which affected them emotionally. None of Nobara's comrades left her, they were there with her, so Nobara never had the troubles of comrade-betrayal. Nobara's friends were by her side. Her problems are what every Jujutsu sorcerer faced. But the case was different for Sakura. Sasuke left the village and Sakura JUST wanted to save him from his cycle of darkness and its so legit that Sakura wants him back safe. She had to undergo a lot in order to save her comrade. Both her and Naruto, more or less DID have the exact same reasons to get back Sasuke. People call her selfish, when its selfish if its the other way around- to not tag along with Naruto to save Sasuke from his darkness. How on this earth it is selfish when a girl confesses to someone she loves, when she just wants to knock sense into him about her feelings for him during his highly emotionally manipulated state? People just assume that as, "Mwahahahaha, she was confessing in midst of a war arc when Sasuke was going to destroy the world! She still cares only about Sasuke-kun who doesn't even give a F about her!"
Then why did Sasuke get reminded of his family after hearing Sakura's confession? Did they even read the manga where Sasuke DID relate Sakura with his own deceased family for several times? Did they forget the parts where Sasuke was also nice with her during their Genin days and has saved her for several times? So, is it dumb and shallow of Sakura to save Sasuke him in return and still try to get back him after futile attempts when he was her friend and the one she loved? Is there any policy that only the best friend can save, not a lover? Is there any policy that only orphans can help each other? Is there any policy that you should not love a person who rejects you when he is not himself? Is Sakura's feelings for Sasuke an obsession when the authors themselves confirmed that it was love? Are her feelings for Sasuke still shallow when they have CLEARLY been confirmed mature by their voice actors?
They also bring up this statement where Sakura had to be saved for so many times and Nobara handles up everything individually, when they clearly forget the fact that Sakura is a medical ninja, and she is strictly prohibited from fighting in front lines when she appears in a platoon (exception being in the Kazekage arc where she and Chiyo Basama were the only people fighting Sasori so she had no other option), whereas Nobara had no such restrictions and showed up as and when she pleased. Sakura can only break the rules of medical ninjutsu when she gets the Byakugou seal and she did a great contribution in the war arc (the time when she got the seal). But, weren't there instances where even Nobara had to be saved by Megumi and also by other teammates (during the goodwill arc and maybe the others)?
"DoN't tHinK thAt NoBarA iS aNoTHeR SuCKuRa, iTs An iNsult tO coMparE a pInK tRaSh wItH a bAdASs WoMaN. SuCkURa WaS iN LoVe WiTH aN iNtErnATionaL TerRorIst, NoBaRa wAs CoOL AnD shE wAs wAyY moRe iNdEpenDent!"
😑😑
Its okay, telling which character is better is highly-opinionated but please don't make Sakura fans believe as if its a fact. Every person has their own opinions and standards, just because someone is better than the other, you can't degrade the other to the extreme. Nobara might be better, but how does it make Sakura bad? What is more wrong is, they sometimes compare the 12 year old Sakura with a 16 year old Nobara, how odd? A 12 year old girl is way different from a 16 year old one. Did we ever know how Nobara was when she was 12?
They only translate Sasuke as an international terrorist when he didn't even kill as many people when compared to other villains and there were a few scenes where Sasuke reminisced his team.
Its just haters don't understand her personal problems and others. She had self-confidence issues, but people don't factor it in the story. And, fans too tell that she loves Sasuke for literally no reason when Sasuke has approached her for several times and saved her!
Should Nobara or Sakura be the carbon copies of each other? Can't they have any differences to make each of them have an individuality for themselves? Just because Sakura was in love with Sasuke, how does it make Nobara infinite times better than Sakura? Did her feelings for Sasuke ever degrade her performance? Wasn't it mentioned in the first databook that her feelings for Sasuke was what actually pushed her to become a great kunoichi?
THEN HOW ON THE EARTH IT IS WRONG TO SAVE AND FALL FOR A PERSON BECAUSE OF WHOM YOU HAVE COME SO FAR?
How on the earth it is immature for Sakura to break her feelings for a man because of whom she came a long way?
How does it make one worse than the other when they had different ways of becoming strong?
How on the earth is Sakura inferior to Nobara just because one was in love and the other wasn't?
If haters tell that Nobara is in a different league, then why they themselves get reminded of Sakura when they see her? 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
If Nobara is the person that Sakura can never be, then Sakura is the person that Nobara never can be too.
Just got miffed up with baseless comparisons. Both of them are my queens and I stan them all time.

jasmin, tea leaves, and honey
chap. 1
Sasuke recognizes her immediately when he enters the room, and it isn’t because of her pink hair.
It’s because of her scent.
He doesn’t know her name, but he’s seen her around the village. He’s heard other Alphas talk about her: the pink haired Omega, the civilian nurse at the hospital, the medicinal herbs specialist that makes expensive and effective salves for shinobi.
She sat with him once, at the hospital, and applied a lotion directly to his bicep, but it happened even before she touched him.
It happened the second she entered his hospital room, the second he inhaled and smelled her sweet scent, a mix of his favorite tea leaves that he’s tried to brew since and haven’t smelled as pure and lovely, sweet jasmine, and the smell of honeysuckle, a flower he’d like to place between his lips and inhale like her sweet scent.
Sasuke feels woozy when he inhales, and desperate when he exhales. He remembers this feeling from when she touched him, but her delicious scent is disorienting enough.
What is she doing here in the Hokage’s office?
“Watch your tone, Uchiha,” Tsunade warns.
Oh, he must have said that out loud. He has the decency to look sheepish. “Sorry, Hokage-sama. I meant, is this about a mission?”
Tsunade’s eyes narrow, but she licks her lips and moves forward. Out of the corner of his eye, he can see a pretty flush on Sakura’s cheeks. Has he embarrassed her? Or worse, hurt her feelings by his comment? He hadn’t meant to be rude, but the way her scent invaded his senses left him incapable of proper speech.
“Yes, this is about a mission.” Tsunade shifts in her seat behind her desk, a frown on her face. For someone who acts like an Alpha, you can tell easily from her scent, or lack thereof, that she’s a beta. A strong, powerful beta that could easily send him flying through the wall behind him if she decided to. “It’s an escort mission to the Land of Lightning—you’re familiar with the route, aren’t you?”
Sasuke nods his head.
“Our medicinal herbs specialist needs to cultivate a specific plant that grows near the far North,” Tsunade explains. “Unfortunately, she can’t go alone. It will be at least a seven day trip on foot if you walk, and take the safest route… And even then, you’ll still be sleeping in the woods most nights.”
“So I’m to escort… her,” he says, gesturing toward the girl, whose name he doesn’t even know yet, but whose scent he’s figmented in dreams, “to the Land of Lightning.”
“Sakura Haruno,” Tsunade supplies.
Her name fits her hair, he thinks, a sheet of vibrant pink that cascades down her back that matches the color of cherry blossoms, all the way to her narrow waist. She takes care of her hair—she can afford to; she is not a ninja, she is a civilian doctor who happens to understand the intricacies of herbal medicine, and healing. It’s beautiful, more beautiful than any woman’s hair he’s ever seen, but he wants to push it behind her ears so he can see her gland on the side of her neck.
Sasuke almost shakes his head before looking back at the Hokage. “When do we leave?”
“Go home, get some rest,” Tsunade offers. “You can both leave first thing in the morning. There’s no rush to get there, the plants have nowhere to go, and there’s no rush to get back… Remember that Sakura isn’t a ninja like you, Sasuke,” she reminds him. “She needs to rest. I’ll give you three weeks to complete the mission, give or take.”
“Understood.”
“And, one more thing…” Tsunade’s lips curl into a sly smirk. “Walk Sakura home. It’s getting late.”
Sasuke nods, decidedly ignoring her smirk as he tries to keep his eyes from narrowing. “Yes, Hokage-sama.”
Sasuke opens the door, and waits a moment for Sakura. When she doesn’t take the hint that he’s holding the door for her, he clears his throat and then says, “Haruno-san, are you coming?”
She seems to shake herself out of something, turning a pretty pink color that matches her hair, and he wonders how far that flush goes down past the modest collar of her dress, lovely civilian clothes that define her waist and a long skirt that flares out at the hips. It’s a pretty green that matches her eyes, sparkling emeralds that make contact with his shyly. “Sorry, Uchiha-san—”
“Sasuke is fine,” he supplies quickly. He’d rather move past formalities now, and he’d like to hear her say his name, too.
She smiles demurely. “Okay, Sasuke. You can call me Sakura, then.”
Sakura moves past him through the doorway, and Sasuke is close enough that her scent nearly floors him. He inhales deeply. She smells delectable, too good, how is he ever going to survive this mission?
“Thank you,” she says, turning around to meet his gaze, but when she sees him: pupils dilated, nostrils flared, eyes staring down at her, scent spiking and agitated, her mouth falls open and her eyes widen. She stammers, “is—is everything alright, Sasuke?”
He shakes his head, and tries to hold his breath, closing the door behind him as Sakura backs away. When her back hits the wall, he doesn’t take another step forward, leaving enough space between them so that Sakura can breathe. Sasuke takes a deep breath, and there’s enough space between them that he gets a little oxygen and everything is a little less fuzzy. He relaxes, if only a little, and he’s able to start breathing regularly. “Everything is fine. Where do you live, Sakura?”
When Sakura smells him relax, she relaxes, too. “I… I live a few blocks away from the hospital, in the apartments past the market, but you don’t have to walk me home, Sasuke. I’ll be fine. The Uchiha District is on the other side of town—”
“It’s fine.” He starts walking down the hall, out of the Hokage tower. She follows him. “I insist.”
“Well, thank you, Sasuke-kun.” She smiles, and what a pretty smile she has, lips plush and soft-looking. They’re painted pink today, but last time he saw her they were red, and he decides that he likes both. “I appreciate it.”
They walk in a comfortable silence down the city streets. It’s late now, and Konoha becomes quiet when the sun goes down. It’s summer, and the civilian kids are off from school, usually dancing through the streets with their friends, but they’re home now. It seems like it’s just the two of them on the street. The hospital looks dead as they pass it, and Sakura stops. “Do you mind if I grab something from my office, Sasuke-kun?”
He shakes his head. “Not at all. Lead the way.”
She smiles at him, again, and it makes his heart flutter, a little. Just enough that he’s sure his scent might have spiked slightly, embarrassingly. He follows her into the hospital, to the elevator where Sakura idles, but then says, “maybe we should take the stairs.”
Relieved, Sasuke agrees. He couldn’t imagine standing in an elevator with her, her scent overtaking his scenes and leaving him breathless and nearly confused. He’s afraid he might say something he regrets, not that he’d ever touch her, but he’s sure something stupid might come out of his mouth if he’s left alone in an enclosed area with her. He nearly fell to his knees when she passed under his nose while she walked by him; standing in an elevator couldn’t be good for his health.
They walk up two flights, and he follows her down the hallway to her office. She stops in front of a large wood door with her name on it, reaches into the pocket of her skirt and pulls out a set of keys, unlocking the door. “I’ll just be a moment. You can come in, have a seat…” she trails off, stepping into her office and immediately scurrying over to the bookshelf and trailing her fingers over the spines of textbooks.
Sasuke takes a step into her office, and is immediately overwhelmed. Everything, absolutely everything, in the entire office smells like her.
It smells like she lives here.
Sasuke takes a step out of the office, holding his breath. “I’ll be right outside, Sakura.”
“Sure,” she says, unfazed, and continues scavenging through her books. Sasuke takes a few more steps away from the office, back into the sterile hallways of the hospital, nostrils filling with the nearly stinging and acrid smell of antiseptic. It’s better, less dizzying and more orienting.
When she’s done, she locks the door behind her. She’s carrying three textbooks, and heavy ones by the looks of it. They look bigger than her. Sasuke immediately grabs them from her, his hand grazing hers, his finger touching the gland on her wrist mistakenly. They both gasp, and the books clatter to the ground.
“I’m—I’m sorry,” Sasuke says, and immediately bends to the floor and begins picking up her books. He did not mean to touch her gland, but he’d be lying if he said it didn’t feel glorious, that soft, sweet patch of skin on her wrist that would smell like her scent bottled, almost as delicious as the one on her neck. He could scent her here, make her smell like him until everybody thinks she’s his.
He doesn’t do that. He picks up her books, and begins stalking off maybe a little too fast toward the stairwell. She trails after him, trying to catch up, before she says, “Sasuke-kun, wait!”
He slows down until he’s walking at her pace again. “Uh, sorry.”
“It’s okay,” she says. “You must be in such a rush to get home. Were you just coming back from a mission?”
“No,” he says. “Just training with my team.”
“You’re on the same team as Naruto-san, right?” Sakura asks.
“Yes.” Sasuke nods his head. “Do you know him?”
“I’ve treated Naruto-san… many, many times,” she says between laughs. Sasuke smirks, knowing exactly what she’s talking about: Naruto is a klutz, and often ends up in the hospital in need of healing because of it. “He is very kind.”
Sasuke snorts. “He’s something.”
When they make it to Sakura’s apartment, Sakura stops and turns to Sasuke with a smile. “This is it.”
“Can I drop off your text books for you?” he asks quietly, and then shakes his head. “Only if you’re comfortable, obviously, and—”
“Sure, Sasuke-kun,” she says and her smile only widens. “Thank you.”
Sasuke follows behind her up the stairs that leads to her apartment door. She unlocks it quietly, and then let’s Sasuke in behind her. If her office smelled incredible, then her home smells unreal. It smells like laying in a field of flowers, lush and bright, like opening up a used book at the library, crisp and somehow fresh. It smells like Sakura rolling onto him in the morning, her hair over her shoulder, neck exposed to his sharp teeth, tongue grazing her gland as he tastes her scent with his tongue.
“You can put those on the kitchen table,” she says. She’s smiling at him, and he’s suffocating. He could actually die, maybe.
Sasuke quickly places the books down on the table, and then makes a sprint for the door. “I’ll see you in the morning,” he says, before locking the door behind him, and shutting it swiftly. He takes a big lungful of the air around him, and sprints home.
The Uchiha District is always full of life, cursed with the hustle and bustle of every mundane village. The Uchiha’s settled on the outskirts of Konoha, not quite part of the village and not quite one of its own. It’s over 20 acres large, and lined with vendors, homes, businesses, and the entire police force of Konoha.
Sasuke calls it home.
When he enters the gates, he slows his pace to moseying. He greets his Aunt and Uncle who own the candy stand at the entrance, cleaning up for the day as they offer him sweets he kindly declines. He isn’t one for candies, and he isn’t one to take something he won’t use. He greets his nieces and nephews as they are running back to their home as the sun sets. When he finally makes it to his own, small home, he unlocks his door and pads through with a sigh.
Sasuke strips to his boxers, and begins to make a dinner of eggs, rice, and tomatoes, something simple that he can handle after a long mission. If he’d had the energy, he’d have walked the extra mile into the district to his parent’s house and joined them for dinner, but he couldn’t bear to walk much further.
Once he’s full and settled, Sasuke walks into his bedroom and sighs when he sees his messy bed and his laundry on the floor that he hasn’t tended to in a while due to missions. He gathers his soiled clothes, throws them in the hamper, and gathers clean linens from the closet. He makes his bed, gathers his lightest quilt against the summer warmth, and decides to check in early for the night.
He’s exhausted, but sleep evades him. He stares up at the ceiling, hands laced behind his head, as he thinks. His mind is crawling with thoughts of Sakura: Sakura, in her emerald green dress, blushing in embarrassment as he holds the door for her. Sakura, brushing her hair out of her face and over her shoulder, innocently showing off the plush gland on her neck. Sakura, in her office, her scent surrounding them like a warm, soft blanket, cocooning him like it’s her own arms wrapped around him.
Then, he closes his eyes, and his thoughts change. Sakura, sliding her emerald dress down her arms, showing off her bony shoulders. Sakura, tilting her head slightly, baring her ripe gland to him like an offering. Sakura, in her office, on her desk in lordosis, baring her pussy to him, wet with slick, ready for his knot.
This isn’t the first time he’s fantasized about Sakura. It’s not the second, or third time since she helped him in the hospital after that mission a few months ago.
It’s not the first time he’s touched himself thinking about her, and he’s sure it won’t be the last.
Sasuke throws the cover off of himself, unearths his cock from his underwear, and strokes himself mercilessly to the thought of Sakura in his bed, now, on her back, legs open wide so he can get a good look at her dripping cunt. It would be perfect, and pink, and it would strangle and milk him for all he’s worth.
He’s almost there, and then he thinks about her asking him—no, begging him to mate her, and he falls over the edge, finishing in viscous globs of white on his stomach, and into the curly, black hair at the base of his cock.
After a moment Sasuke sighs, and throws his clean arm over his eyes. It takes him a moment to get up, and he curses when he realizes he’ll be going to sleep much later than anticipated now that he needs a shower.
Sasuke rises from his bed, strips, leaving his soiled boxers on the ground by his bed, and walks toward the bathroom where he’ll take a long, cold shower and try to think about things other than pink haired omegas that smell so beautiful and divine that there aren’t enough suppressants in the world to stave off the scent.
Once he’s freezing and clean, he stumbles into bed and falls asleep naked to the lull of embarrassed blushes and quick brushes of his fingers against a gland he may never have the pleasure of feeling.

You know I had to..... :)
Besides the clear lack of romantic interest in Sakura and Hinata from Sasuke and Naruto, respectively, Kishimoto made it clear that both Sakura and Hinata were selfish in their “love” for Sasuke and Naruto, respectively. Everything was catered toward how the women felt towards the men. Or rather how the girls felt towards the boys. Since they were all still underage at the 4th war.
While some people may believe that love is inherently selfish, I believe that it can be the most unselfish and giving thing ever.
Narusaku: (Naruto) Naruto has risked his life and saved Sakura more times than you can count. Though Naruto clearly loved her, he promised to get Sasuke back for her benefit. He was so pained when he saw Sakura hurt over Sasuke. (Sakura) She has saved Naruto on many occasions as well no matter how much people like to discredit her. She has healed him on multiple occasions. She has cheered him on and thought about his happiness and dream. She literally had his heart in her hands, helping it beat. (If this is not symbolic of love, Idk what is). Though Sakura wanted to get stronger on her own accord and not be left behind, she wanted to get stronger to take some burden off of NARUTO.  She broke down crying when hearing Naruto’s feelings.
NaruSasu: We can see from the beginning that Naruto and Sasuke were always bickering, but from the beginning Sasuke threw himself in front of Haku’s spears to save Naruto without even thinking about it. Sasuke mentions Naruto as his one true friend (I don’t know any people that calls their “friends” one true friend” that has such romantic connotation. like dude you could have just said only friend or best friend). (Naruto) We see how Naruto is willing to bow and plead for Sasuke, how relentless he is chasing him, how he lets Karui (I thiink? choji’s wife) punch him until he is bruised (not like the slapstick/tsundere comedic punches Sakura gives Naruto which amount is exaggerated). How he goes to bat with him. How he loses his arm. Pretty grim but the blood flowing from their lost arms creates a heart.....how can you deny this??? (I am pro-Narusasu as well, but Sakura never severed a body part of Naruto’s...the comedic punches left bumps that disappeared in the next frames. That’s not how real bruises work. Like how he looked after Karui punched him or fighting with Sasuke or any actual fight)
SasuKarin: Sasuke jeopardizes his mission to save her. The only time where he is mentioned to enter into true darkness is when he attacks her, not when he attacks Sakura. Like you could have replaced Sakura in that scene if Sakura was so romantically important to him then but noooo it was Karin). (Karin) And we all know that Karin goes to the extreme to protect Sasuke.
The 4th war shows everyone’s romantic priorities as well.
Karin was mowing down people with her chains trying to get to Sasuke.
Sasuke was protecting Naruto.
Sakura protecting and being protected by Naruto. Sakura saving Naruto by pumping his heart.
Hinata...Hinata tripped over a rock.
*Hinata jumped in from of the spears but ultimately Neji was the one making the ultimate sacrifice. When instead of just standing there, Hinata should have rotated the spears away like Neji is able to. If Neji had enough time to jump behind Hinata, Hinata had plenty of time to try and deflect at least. Neji I could understand if his time was limited...but his death was just so pointless. they did him wrong.
I actually felt like Hinata’s character could have been saved if throughout the series we saw her making changes to her personality and taking training seriously, learning new moves. Like she’s famous for her one panel scenes, show her training at the hyuuga compound at least. I honestly felt like with this, if she actually did die instead of Neji, I would have liked it more. Not only for the Hyuuga main branch/lower branch situation but in general.
People like to say he was prioritizing the world over love, but Sasuke didn’t even attempt to save Sakura. He was going to let her fall in lava and he didn’t even seem shocked or resigned to it. It was like...meh. TIMBER!!!
We didn’t see a SasuKarin scene in 4th war like the fighting together but she was trying her damnest to get to him. Meanwhile, Hinata is splayed out on the floor while cloaked with Kuruma’s chakra shared by Naruto with everyone.

I would've liked if the last was structured different. The story stays the same but it's different. Here me out :
the movie could've opened up with Naruto randomly thinking about his life because he's not the kid people used to hate. Then he remembers the comrades he made along the way. You can still have him acknowledge his crush on Sakura and have him question the crush. Then have him remembering people who supported him first like jiraya etc. Then BOOM have him remember his conversations with Hinata. Not the Haha funny moments but the one that have meaning. Like when he told neji he was going to make him pay. Have him question his moments with Hinata. Have him wondering if there are maybe possibly other reasons why she was always there 4 him. The story plays the same way of course. Toneri kidnaps hanabi bla bla bla. They go on a mission bla bla bla. They save the world bla bla bla.
I think if it begun that way, it would've been more natural with Naruto's perspective. Like we could still Hinata's perspective too but it would be better. I seriously thought that's how they would tell The Last. I mean it's so obvious and easy 👀.
me too!! What I would have preferred is if they began the show with moments after the war or scenes when they were 17-18 yrs old. Scenes from the blank period, how most fans would name it. I mean, it was canonically mentioned that they did in fact grow closer after the war so why not show those scenes where Naruto ever so slowly grows more fond of Hinata? Imo, the game protrayed those blank period scenes really well. They were cute as heck so i recommend watching them
I understand what the movie was going for, I really do. I get that Naruto didnt fall in love with Hinata, he realized he was in love. But the way they executed it made it seem like he only fell for her because "oh wow! she likes me?! dang i think i kinda like her too"
NO BUT LIKE IMAGINE THIS IN THE MOVIE.
Instead of the flashbacks about their childhood, the movie starts off with a scene immediately after the war where Nart lost his arm after the fight and Hinata comes running to him and Naruto is so relieved to see she's alright because he was worried as heck for her when he heard her call in the midst of the Tsukuyomi attack
Fast forward, maybe a short clip of Hinata taking care of Nart when he was armless. Then montages of them gradually hanging out together, Sakura teasing him, Kakashi forcing them to go on missions together, them having ramen dates but theyre not really dates. They couldve fit all of that in 20 minutes or so, like??? gAAhhHH
I also had this scene in mind where they went out on a mission together but there was a snow storm and they got trapped in an abandoned cave. They bond more, Naruto eats her bentos and he's all like. "Your bentos taste so good! Who taught you how to cook?" and she replies sadly "My mother" she then traces back to her memories of her mom, how she taught her to cook, how she'd prepare snacks and bentos for her and Hanabi, because for some fucking reason she wasnt mentioned in the series and Nart is like "Yknow, Ive actually met my mom once, but I wouldnt know what a mom would do with her kids." And they confide in each other about the loss of their mothers, he gushes about how he wished he had his mom's hair color, and THATS where Hinata gets the idea of knitting him a red scarf, the same color as his mother's hair. Genius? I know.
Its just, they have sooo much in common, theyre actually a lot similar if you think about it, which makes their dynamic all the more heartwarming! Hinata would know the giref of not having a mother growing up, the feeling of being ostricized by the people around you, the lonely childhood they had to go through. Theyre both the kindest and most empathetic people on the show!! I mean, theyre complete opposites but they are so much alike. You get me??
Maybe Hinata wouldnt understand the full extent of his pain BUT she would definitely understand the feeling of being shunned and ignored by the people around her. She would know what being inivisible would feel like and I'd like to think they talk about that with each other in their down time :,))
ANW BACK TO THE STORY HAHAHAHAH
The storm is gone and then Nart is like "Hey, after this, wanna visit Neji together?" then she smiles and nods and next scene~
If they started off with that, it wouldve established to the audience that they indeed grew closer after the war and it would also explain Hinata's more comfortable atmosphere around Nart. Maybe then it wouldnt seem all too out of the blue
I also wished they talked about Naruto's crush with Sakura and how he moved on. I think I kinda get what she meant by "You only liked me because of your rivalry with Sasuke right?" The way I see it, Naruto always vied for attention as a kid, he has this sort of hero complex, always on top, always the one to get the prettiest girl. To which the prettiest girl in class was Sak. Which explains the whole rivalry thing.
I actually have some thoughts about his feelings for Sak and how it was completely different with his love for Hinata but its kinda long so hehe, if youre interested, my asks are open ;D
Then the whole Hyuga/Otsutsuki drama starts. Hanabi gets kidnapped blabla Shikamaru team blabla AND NOW THE GENJUTSU WAHH
OKAY IMAGINE THIS. HINATA'S CONFESSION SCENE RIGHT? BUT WHAT IF THEY DID THIS WHOLE TRANSITION THING WITH MINAKUSHI'S SACRIFICE. THEYD DO KUSHINA/HINATA PARALLELS
Theyd replay the scene where Kushina jumps in front of Naruto just when he was about to be killed by Kurama and match it with Hinata jumping in front of Pain. Then Kushina's words "Find someone just like me" would be repeated over and over again
Hinata's I love you and put it side by side with Kushina's I love you
The red scarf with Kushina's scarf.
Their infinite love for Nart. AaAAAAAAAA THE POSSIBILITIES!!!!!!!
THAT WOULDVE BEEN SO CUTE AND COOL.
And by the end of the genjutsu scene, Kushina would hug him for the last time and ask him with loving eyes,
"Have you found her yet? Becuase I think you might already have."
AND SCENE
WAHHHHHH T^T
Aand then everything after that stays the same ig. Except for that cage scene. I freaking hated that.
BuT BESIDES THAT. THEY HAD ALLLLLL THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY AROUND A LITTLE AND USE THE BLANK TWO YEARS BUT NOOOOO LEAVE IT TO THE FANS IMAGINATION. AGAIN!!!$*@($&
dont get me wrong i LOVE the movie but I have all the right to critique it and give it my two cents while also being a very big slut for Narhina :DDDD

What are your full thoughts on Sakura's confession to Naruto? I've seen some fans blame it on Sai as he "emotionally manipulated" Sakura into doing all she can to stop Naruto which led to the fake confession.
Thanks for this ask @dinainwater 👍🏼 I always wanted to talk about that arc where all the characters' motivations were clearly set up. Sorry for the late response, Sakura’s prompts always makes my skin crawl.
I never knew that Sakura wankers would retort to such tactics by shifting the blame on Sai. I've said this in many posts and I don't mind repeating it here. Sakura was always written as a narrative tool to propagate the main characters, Naruto and Sasuke. This was always the case right from chapter 3.
This is also the arc where Team 7′s loyalty was put under the microscope for us viewers to observe. What will Team 7 do, when they hear about Sasuke who turned into a wanted Criminal??
SAKURA’S FAKE CONFESSION
Let’s start with Sai. He is also a member of Team 7. Sai doesn’t give a damn about Sasuke and he doesn’t have to. Because he never knew anything about him. But Sai really cared about Naruto more than Sakura ever did anything for Naruto combining Part 1 and Part 2. Unlike others, Sai started to care about Naruto because he saw something in him that reminded him of his brother Shin. Naruto didn’t have to prove anything to him to win his friendship like he did with Neji and others. In fact, Naruto hated him in the beginning.
Tumblr media
Sai, a guy who couldn’t understand any feelings, has slowly started to understand something and he started to help/save Naruto without any motivations or expectations.
Well, I feel Kishi meant to parallel Sai with Sasuke not only in terms of looks but also when it comes to protecting him.
That’s why Sai went to Sakura to call her out for being a lazy donkey by dumping all the works on Naruto whereas she was sitting on her cool Ass without doing anything.
Well, I want everyone to put yourself in Sai’s place. What would you have done? While Naruto is getting beaten up for Sasuke’s sake and Sakura is sitting there leaving everything with Naruto to deal with the rough parts.
Now the wankers may make silly excuses like, ‘Naruto asked her to leave it to him’.
Tumblr media
I am asking them, ‘Well, That didn’t stop Sai from not following what Naruto was about to do. He was worried about Naruto and followed him to see what he was going to do. And defended him from Karui’s attacks. Why couldn’t Sakura do this?’.
Tumblr media
All these panels proves,
Sakura doesn’t give 2 shits about Naruto. But Sai genuinely cares about him a lot.
[[No wonder, Sai is one of the people with whom Naruto contacts a lot in Borutoverse also]]
Emotional manipulation is when someone uses their own feelings to make the other person feel guilty. I am pretty sure you all know who manipulated whom emotionally throughout the series.
Sai was simply acting here as the viewers’ voice. I don’t know about how viewers felt about the confrontation scene. I felt that Sai was asking what I was feeling about Sakura, the whole time!!!
Simply put,
“Just now, Karui beat Naruto into a pulp. He just doesn’t want to worry you by telling this. But why are you sitting simply without worrying about what’s happening to others? Do you really care about Naruto, a bit? You made some shitty promise with him some time ago and I don’t even know what it was. But he means to carry on that promise for the rest of his life because he likes you. Don’t you think you should take responsibility for putting such a burden on him?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, This is where things get really interesting. Sai just observed Naruto’s behaviour around Sakura and concludes that Naruto is bearing all this pain for Sakura and to an extent for Sasuke but mostly for Sakura.
Sai comes to this conclusion because he never knew what happened between Naruto and Sasuke in part 1. He never saw their interaction or what’s going on between them. But Sakura does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sai feels deeply empathetic towards Naruto’s sadness and doesn’t want him to get hurt anymore. Hence he is calling her out for her insensitiveness when asking Naruto to make a Life Time Promise. Sai went one step ahead and added that everyone relies on Naruto too much. As a friend, Sai thinks that they all should shoulder Naruto’s burden.
There’s nothing wrong with Sai and his perspective.
Also, if he really intended to manipulate her, Sai shouldn’t have to tell Naruto about everything that had happened with Sakura and his Academy friends when he met him in the Land of Iron.
Even the most sensible Shikamaru thinks Sai was right.
Tumblr media
For me, All of her Academy Classmates were speaking sense. Because, they were just observers.
Simply put, Sai and Everyone thinks that Sasuke has joined Akatsuki, the organization which destroyed their Village to the ground and was also hunting Naruto. But Sakura’s promise is putting Naruto’s life at danger because they feel Naruto is doing these for the Life Time promise he made 3 years ago before all of her Academy Classmates because everyone knows that Naruto never go back on his words.
Tumblr media
Where is the emotional manipulation here?
The only problem from their opinion is that they never factored the extent of Naruto’s and Sasuke’s relationship into the equation and it’s not their fault. Because no one knows. But Sakura knows, atleast a bit if not entirely. We, the audience knew what happened in the VoTE1.
Sakura openly acknowledged to Sai that Naruto considers Sasuke as his brother. She even saw Naruto fall into the ground and bawling like a baby when Sasuke left with Orochimaru.
Can’t she put 2+2 to know that, Naruto is not just doing this for her??
Well, Since when has she ever been emotionally perceptive of others’ feelings? She always thought everything revolved around her. So, it’s not really surprising.
Tumblr media
Well, in this scene I genuinely thought, She was going to do something good once and for all.
What Sakura could have done?
She should’ve confronted to them like a strong woman (as much as her wankers portrays her to be), ‘Naruto is not doing this for me. He may love me. But He is doing this not just for me. I knew about Naruto better than anyone. He truly wanted to save Sasuke for himself as well. We all should talk about this to Naruto and decide later.”
But she didn’t!!!
Later Sakura went on and proposed to Naruto pathetically and got rebuffed. She really thought Naruto would believe her proposal. She still thinks ‘Naruto is an idiot’. Even Kiba couldn’t believe this bullshit.
‘Sakura, You Dumb Biashhhh’, This is what Kiba must be thinking inside.
Tumblr media
This is just another way for Kishi by dissing her and telling us that ‘Sakura never reached any emotional maturity. She is a self-absorbed girl who thinks that she is the center of everyone’s life. Sai, who spent very little time could understood Naruto better than Sakura, who was with him for a long time’.
From Writing point of View,
Up until that point, Kishi tried to build some platonic crush between Naruto and Sakura. But he decided to break that crush by making Naruto reject her Fake Confession and prefer Sasuke over Sakura.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, He used her as a tool to make Naruto and Sasuke meet under the bridge, which was the iconic scene of the entire Series and that’s the moment, that particular Arc was leading upto. The writer is telling us that,
Even though Sakura wholeheartedly love Sasuke, when things don’t go well, she is not a person who will try to understand why Sasuke is doing whatever he did so far. Instead, she plunged right at him.
Even though Naruto likes Sakura, Sasuke trying to kill her will not evoke any kind of rage as one would display for their loved one when they gets hurt. Which means Naruto places Sasuke higher than Sakura.
Even though Sasuke plunged into the depth of darkness, seeing Sakura would not evoke any kind of positive feelings in him. But Naruto can.
Even though Sasuke turned into a killing machine, and the entire world turned upon him including his former Team, the only person who will stand with him will be Naruto, no matter what.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Sai has nothing to do with her delusion. Sai simply spoke his perspective about Naruto and his pain, excluding Sasuke (because he didn’t know about him). As someone who knew both Sasuke and Naruto, Sakura should have a better judgement in this matter. But she didn’t. She made a fool out of herself by taking a worst decision to confess dishonestly before Naruto and tried to kill Sasuke without understanding what both of them are going through.
Even if you live with this woman for 100 years, she is incapable of understanding anyone.

AN AN MAGAZINE
Haruno Sakura: A Blossoming Spectacle By: Yamanaka Ino Photography By: Nara Shikamaru
Nobody in Japan’s film industry is thriving like Haruno Sakura. Having gone head to head with Baby, Box, Broker by Director Koreeda Hirokazu, acclaimed industry senior and Palme d’Or Winner, for a spot at the illustrious international film festival—she surprised everyone as the young director’s The Promise of a Lifetime was chosen. We’ve sat down to catch up with the rising director right before her film premieres at Cannes.
An An: Congratulations on your success, Director! Did you expect to make it to the Cannes Film Festival? How has it been?” Haruno Sakura: It’s been a very new experience! As a child, I used to wish I could visit just to be part of the audience, so to come here as a director really is a dream come true.
An An: It’s the first time here for everyone in The Promise of a Lifetime, from you to the cast. You’re all fresh faces on the festival circuit, but it seems you already know them pretty well! This is the second film you co-wrote with Screenwriter Uzumaki Naruto, and the third film where you directed Uchiha Sasuke. What is that dynamic like?
Haruno Sakura: Working with Naruto. Well—we’re kind of like a well-oiled machine at this point! I’ve known him since we were children, and he always had big dreams for the kinds of stories he wanted to tell. It was our goal to get to a place where we could work together. With Sasuke, it’s nice to work with a thoughtful actor.
An An: Of course, we all know the Uchiha family are a legendary dynasty in the film industry. Sasuke shocked insiders when he stuck to the independent scene as he worked with you.
[“He...Well. Actually, Ino, is it okay if we skip this question?”
“Of course, Sakura. Are you okay?”
“I’m okay, Ino.”
“No. This is off the record; I’m asking as your best friend. Are you okay?”
“Let’s continue the interview. Shikamaru, please make sure to get a good shot of my shoes. They’re sponsoring The Promise.”]
An An: Your Instagram story of Director Tsunade’s congratulatory bouquet to you was heartwarming! How was it starting off your career on the film sets of the most feared and one of the most respected directors in the industry?
---
The day of the Cannes premiere is a blur as they get swept up into the whirlwind of the event. Their buzzing newbie energy is devoured by the press who only craves more, unable to let Sasuke escape their camera flashes as they fall in love with him through the other side of the lens. Arms linked beside him, his co-star Hyuga Hinata blushes from the attention she is getting in her tailored lilac silk dress. The contrast between them only assists Sasuke in playing the role of the handsome, confident, golden boy film star.
When the press urges their Director to join them in the pictures, Sasuke’s expression finally falters but after another flash from a camera, followed by shouts for him to look straight, he straightens his face and it passes. Sakura moves to stand beside Hinata, who smoothly moves out of the way, forcing Sakura to stand in between her lead actors. Sasuke reluctantly puts his arm around Sakura’s waist. His hand lands on bare skin and even though she stiffens, neither of them pull away.
Sakura and Sasuke are assigned to sit beside each other for the premiere. He realizes he is far too aware of the way she’s rubbing her fingers together as she nervously shakes her left leg, and he resists the urge that rises in him to place a hand on her thigh to calm her.
He feels the same nervous energy ring through him but the weight that sits on his chest and smothers his throat is stronger. They hadn’t touched at all apart from their little show in front of the camera. He had taken it for granted, the chance to give her a light touch on her shoulders, to secretly thread their fingers together as she rubbed her thumb over his, to have her gently lean against his side, to bump the knees together when they sat just like this.
Now they sit shrouded in the dark of the theatre, a hum of excitement murmurs through the air as the audience anticipates the feature film that they all poured their soul into—and for the first time, Sasuke put his heart into. He sits with his back achingly straight against the chair, his face turned to the screen as he experiences his wildest dreams coming true before him, but his mind rests on the girl beside him, wishing he could hold her hand.
The film opens with his voice, as the title sequence lights up the screen and his eyes gloss over The Promise of a Lifetime to zero in on the smaller letters written underneath: Directed by Haruno Sakura.
It wasn’t supposed to happen like this.
notes: Currently, Director Koreeda Hirokazu's Baby, Box, Broker is still in film production and I really want it to make it to Cannes, so of course I wrote exactly the opposite of that.
