for the reborn au: how will Itachi deal with being a dad?

the idea of itachi as a "dad" is so weird it took me a hot second to realize you meant him and his Illegal Test Tube Baby, Kushina Jr.

So, I think Itachi is someone who thinks he likes children (but in practice doesn't really enjoy non-Sasuke kids). In canon I think he definitely wouldn't want to have his own kids, but I don't think he's totally turned off by the idea. Maybe his pacifist life fantasies occasionally include a kid. Or maybe just like a cute neighbor kid he can talk to sometimes. This means that, in a universe where his life is more stable and people are actively expecting him to pop out an heir, he's able to make peace with the idea of having kids.

I talked about this before, but I think Itachi is more likely to form an attachment to kids that he can conceptualize as not being his. Sasuke's kid? Shisui's kid? He will Uncle them so hard. I think he's more likely to bond with his own kid if he thinks of them as a product of his beloved partner than his own. Not that he'd dislike his own kid-- he already resolved to have the mandatory heir and attempt to raise it well-- it's just... weird. With the test tube baby, from his POV.... it sort of feels like Tori went off and adopted a new puppy. He knew it was happening. He donated half the DNA. He's seen the test tube. He read a bunch of safety evaluations for cribs. It's still VERY WEIRD when a whole ass baby comes home one day. He's not like "oh gross, a mini-me," but Tori is his platonic friend SLASH life teammate he decided to move in with permanently and not his cherished lover, so he doesn't instantly fall in love with the baby. It's.... a process.

(I think at this point Itachi and Tori have to have some genuine affection for each other, so the idea of a tiny Tori IS funny/cute, it's just not like how I'd write him having a kid with a more romantic partner.)

The danger with giving Itachi kids, I think, is that he has a lot of anxiety over people he loves being taken away or killed by the ongoing horrors of the ninja world. That's why he makes a bunch of Insane Choices about Sasuke: if he can't completely control his loved ones, he will force them to be as strong and resilient as he thinks they need to be. The good news is that in the Reborn AU:

He's an adult and not a teenager, so his bad decisions and life philosophy have slightly more wisdom.

There are a lot fewer terrifying forces outside of his control that he can use to project anxiety onto his helpless little test tube baby.

There are a lot more people he can trust to have his (and therefore his kid's) back. This doesn't necessarily include his parents, but it definitely includes Shisui and Sasuke, and probably the rest of Team 4. All these people can also theoretically stop him from being insane. :)

So I think Itachi would have high standards for his kid, in part because Itachi forgets what normal people are like, and then in part because his kid being a good ninja eases his anxiety. BUT he's in a place where he doesn't feel the need to push them beyond what would be healthy for the kid. Like he would prefer they be able to best him in single combat at 10, but also he recognizes this is unrealistic. I can see him having to be reminded to compliment his kid for getting good grades, but I don't think he'd be like. Horrible.

All that being said, I don't think either him OR Tori completely conceptualized "making an illegal test tube baby means we have to take care of a baby now." Partly because if no one actually gets pregnant... you can just go home for the night and forget about how you have a baby in the works. So the learning curve is high and also very confusing the first couple years, in part because like. Navigating a baby is very different from from navigating a deep conspiracy to get rid of Danzo or a fake romantic relationship. And there's suddenly? A whole ass new human?? something I've been musing over lately is Meng Yao and Lan Xichen having completely opposing needs re: marriage (particularly in a modern AU) and how their relationship with Nie Mingjue helps them work through it.

like, Lan Xichen growing up very very aware of the fact that his parents should not have been married, didn't make each other happy, refused to divorce Because of the Kids(/traditional values!!) which are bad reasons. so he knows from a very young age that he's not going to marry. he's going to fall in love with his whole heart, he's going to be loyal and generous, and if at any point the relationship starts to turn unhealthy, if he stops making his partner(s) happy, he is going to let them go.

annnnd then Meng Yao growing up has the exact opposite experience. painfully aware of how badly things can go when you don't have concrete reassurances to fall back on, knowing that someone can say all the right things, make all the promises in the world, and that doesn't mean jack shit if they're not willing to back them up with something real. it's fine in the early stages, but after a while he starts to second-guess himself, wondering if "I would let you go" might not have shades of "I don't care enough to hold on to you."

but then! up pops Nie Mingjue! who has some parental issues of his own, don't get him wrong, but he had a front-row seat to both of his dad's happy marriages, and he's perfectly content with the idea that 1) you can love someone without being obsessive over them, in life or in death, 2) it's okay to move on if that's what life has in store for you, 3) marriage is nice! domesticity and commitment are nice things to have when it's with someone you love and trust.

so NieYao get married, and Lan Xichen remains their boyfriend/partner, and it takes some getting used to but it soothes them all a bit. from LXC's point of view, he trusts that NMJ is a little more level-headed about relationships, more willing to see the bad and the good instead of getting obsessive, and he's happy that MY feels more stable, that he'll have something even if they don't work out. from MY's point of view, he's got that proof that NMJ is willing to commit to him (and lbr their relationship has been shaky at times too, so that's comforting for its own sake). and also he knows that NieLan have a much longer history so that's some reassuring data that LXC isn't going to disappear on them out of the blue. NMJ likes making both of them just a little less stressed out... and now he has a good excuse to foist some of his domestic paperwork on Meng Yao, which is NOT him being lazy. I feel like, out of the two, Woods is the more protective one overall. I feel that he would look at Jodie and, knowing everything she's gone through, would want to make sure nothing to that calibre ever happens to her again. Then he'll learn some more of her lore and it just throws his need to be protective into overdrive.

I also feel that, in the sense of the brainwashing aspect, he's gone through this kind of thing with Alex, who is and will always be his best friend, and there's possibly some guilt there that maybe he didn't help enough or he let certain experiences happen under his nose kinda thing, so the second time around he's trying to be better where he's seen himself 'fail' before, especially because he loves this woman.

Although, it can sometimes lead to them butting heads because there's some situations where he's been worried about how she'd deal with Perseus related missions, Adler, and in an attempt to protect her, it's gotten in the way of her being able to do missions - she sees this as him not thinking she's stable, capable of doing her job, and that he thinks she's weak WHICH IS NOT THE TRUTH. This man knows she can fight, knows she is a good, efficient and resilient operator... but he doesn't want her going through things unnecessarily?

They could probably talk to each other about it but I think we know that Frank can be a bit abrasive and Jodie, well, sometimes she clams up.

Jodie can be just as protective but it's not as generalised as Frank. Of course there's a base level of protectiveness, but it will spike in specific situations.

Oooooo, ok. So, a cozy night in for these two would go something like this:

They would start it with a quick meal, neither are fantastic cooks but their food is edible. Then they'd grab drinks and chill out on the sofa. Depending on the night, they're either watching a film/TV show together or they're doing their own separate thing. Reading, listening to the radio, sometimes Jodie will be writing, etc.

The film nights are the best because Jodie has a lot of media that she needs to catch up on. 9/10 Frank will have fallen asleep by the latter end of the film or a few episodes in and Jodie will turn her head to mention something or ask a question, only for it to stop on the tip of her tongue as a smile forms. She'll then gently put the back of her fingers to his cheeks, or tap his wrist, all in a calm bid to urge him back awake.

Normally she would let him sleep, but sometimes she can't believe how he can with his head at such an awkward angle. That, and she doesn't want him having a bad neck or stiff shoulders.

In response to being woken up, he'll just pull her close, then they finish the film/tv show or continue with whatever they were doing before.

Right, this one, damn. I feel like in the beginning of the relationship, they probably said it without actually saying those specific words. But, later on, I feel that saying 'I love you' before they leave to go on a mission, go somewhere for a short/long time, would be commonplace.

I personally think that Johnny wouldn't be able to cook for shit but maybe doesn't realise and she always jumps at the chance to cook just so they can eat something edible.

45. Can they fall asleep without the other?

I think that Johnny can, only because he's in the military and you have to sleep when you can. I'm pretty certain that there's certain training or advice given to military personnel to help them sleep wherever. I may be wrong. But, yeah, I feel that irregardless of how Johnny feels about sleeping separately from his wife, he would be able to because it is necessary to be prepared for missions etc.

When he's deployed, Nanette struggles to sleep for the foremost part of that time. She'll have just gotten used to having him back, to having him close, wrapped up together and warm, and then she's straight back to having a hollow bed that doesn't quite hold the warmth like it does with him in it. She'll struggle to get a good night's sleep, often broken spells of lighter bouts of sleep. I don't think she ever gets used to not having him there, but she does get better at managing her sleep.

She does use a lot of herbal remedies to try and urge her into tiredness to try and make that transition into sleep, while he isn't there, a lot easier for her. Otherwise, no, falling asleep is very, very difficult for her without him there.

52. Describe their weekend getaway?

It would be an argument between going to the Scottish highlands or the beaches of Cornwall. So, they make an agreement to do both. They'd probably like to go to those places for longer, but given his line of work, you know, they make do.

They're both outdoorsy (though I'd say Nanette has to run to keep up with Johnny on walks, not because of height but because he'd naturally tab it everywhere lmao). You can take the man out of the military but not the military out of the man. They'd spend a lot of their weekend being out and about, walking, exploring - one of the evenings they'd splash out for a nice meal.

I have to leave you with the image of Johnny with their bairn in a baby carrier on his back, bobbing up and down in rhythm with his steps and her little head poked out over his shoulder with wide blue eyes. Probably chewing her hand or something, nearly dribbling on him, but he looks so at home with her there. Nanette would be slightly behind, beaming at the sight of them. Johnny would stop, turn around to check that his wife is alright, a wide smile on his dumb little face, "ye alright, bonnie?"

"Definitely," she'd reply, because everything is good and he's home and the sight before her is too cute to bear.

Bonus: if they don't go on a weekend getaway for themselves, it's definitely to go see family. Depending on which can be the difference between a chaotic weekend (in a very good way) and a chill weekend where Nanette's dad is like "me boy! he returns- c'mere I need your help with something, me son, me boy, me lad." Her dad, a farmer, loves Johnny and it's so cute honestly.

Memories of the Beasts - Clavis & Sariel (Epilogue)

One day after finishing her work, Emma heads to Sariel's office to report in. Seeing Clavis there as well, she asks them about the time when they were teacher and student. Both ask, at the same time, where she heard this from. She tells them that Jin told her.

Emma wonders if this is a subject she shouldn't have brought up. Clavis tells her that he was formerly Sariel's apprentice. Sariel agrees, formerly. But it wasn't that long ago.

Clavis: I was too brilliant.

Sariel: Indeed, in some ways. You've been making all sorts of troublesome inventions since you were a child.

Emma's horrified at that fact.

Clavis: So did you want to know about Sariel's top 10 goofs?

Sariel: There's no such thing. Are you sure you aren't thinking about your top 12 blunders, Prince Clavis?

Clavis: Using oddly specific numbers to increase credibility's a bad personality trait, you know?

Emma's a bit disappointed to learn that they were both lies. She explains to them that she's recently been reading stories about buddies and teacher-student relationships so she wanted to ask people who've had that sort of relationship some questions. First, did they ever fight back to back while on a mission? Sariel replies that unfortunately, Clavis was only a child back then. He would've reached her waist. Not exactly strong enough to support each other back to back.

Emma then asks about passing skills to his student and Clavis answers that he would be using a whip now instead of a sword if they had that sort of training.

Then what about the teacher taking on multiple opponents to save his student? Sariels asks Emma if she's heard about the old saying, "a lion pushes its cub into a ravine"* Clavis calls a trial without love harassment.

Nothing's matching up with what Emma's read in her stories. But despite their harsh responses, Sariel and Clavis appear to be in sync with each other. She then asks if they have any particularly memorable moments from their time together. Sariel says his first mission with Clavis. Clavis says his third mission. That was also a memorable one for Sariel. It was the first time they've encountered such a huge maze. But he thought their fourth mission together was Clavis' favorite. Clavis found the investigation interesting, but the truth was too obvious.

The two's back and forth warms Emma's heart. Sariel asks her if something's the matter since she's been staring at them. She replies that she's impressed with how well they remember each mission. Like every moment was memorable. The two look at her in surprise before Sariel agrees with her. It was all new to him. For Clavis, he had learned quite a bit.

Emma: That means it's possible for the teacher-student relationship to be revived-

Sariel and Clavis: It's not

Emma was shot down so quick and all she can do is shrug. But it's rare for them to agree on something. Though she didn't learn much about their relationship back then, she's glad she's able to catch a glimpse of their memories.

Clavis: If I ever want to revive a teacher-student relationship, I'd want it to be with you rather than Sariel.

Emma: Huh, me?

Clavis: As my apprentice, I can teach you how to design traps, cook colorful food, and all other matters of evil. How about becoming the second Clavis?

Sariel: I won't allow it.

Emma: I'm sorry but I don't have a reason or the courage to carry the name "Clavis".

Though Emma is curious about how he gets his food to be so colorful, she thinks to herself.

Sariel: I would rather have her be my apprentice than yours.

Why is Sariel going along with this?

Sariel: As my apprentice, I can teach you more practical things such as how to be more efficient with paperwork, facilitate meetings, and how to punish troublesome behavior. Being a full-fledged bureaucrat would be financially stable.

Clavis: You wouldn't want a master that dangles money in front of you, would you?

The air is once again tense despite the two smiling at each other. In a way, the two do get along. Like Jin had told her, they used to be friends. But it's difficult to describe their current relationship.

Clavis asks Emma who she'd prefer. Finding herself in a troubling position, she tries to escape. But it looks like Clavis is one step ahead of her. He's suddenly right in front of her and suggests a trial run if she can't decide. She'd be able to do things she'd never be able to do normally like training in combat. Sariel, also suddenly close to her, agrees with Clavis. And the sight of her wielding a whip would be amusing. Emma's good; she doesn't need this experience. But she's interested in stories about buddies and teacher-student relationships, isn't she, Sariel asks. Clavis adds that this hands-on experience from people who were formerly master and apprentice would be more exciting than any of her stories.

Maybe it's better if the two don't get along well, Emma thinks. The two should not be allowed to work together.

The look of amusement in their eyes as the two slowly approach her makes Emma give up on the idea escaping.

*Meaning to put the child through hardships so that they can learn and grow from them. I'm struggling so hard to think of an English equivalent lol

Spider-Man Dream "Mirage-Spider" (Earth 120899)

Dream is a 23 year old man who lives in the city of New York with his little brother Tommy (their parents died in a car crash when Dream was 15 and Tommy 10, they were sent to an orphanage since they didn't have any family to take care of them, when Dream became a legal adult, he got a job and went to live in an apartament with his brother). Dream works as a part-time.job assistant coder in one of Alchemax's buildings, he helps in a minimal way to program different systems that the company needs to perform their activities (you could say he's like the plummer of coding lol). He's also studying in the L'Manburg College to be a writer, since that's one of his passions. His best friends are George and Sapnap, the first one works at the Alchemax´s laboratories, studying different properties of spiders; the second one is his classmate in college, Sapnap is studying to be an athletic coach. Sapnap knows George because they used to go to high-school and became good friends.

He has a very good relationship with his brother, even when he ends up very tired from college and work, he tries to always make time to hear Tommy ramble about his day and hear how he has been, and they do different activities depending on their mood and energy, sometimes they play video-games, others they watch a movie, in others they play some board-games, or others they just cuddle (platonic only/srs) in one bed and just relax with the presence of each other.

One day on work, George calls for Dream to help him with a program he's having trouble with, Dream goes to the laboratory George is (it's full with spiders in cristal cages btw) and tries to help him. Neither George or Dream notice the spider that managed to crawl out of the cage and to Dream's neck. Dream is bitten and slaps the spider out of him, George tries to help Dream with the bite with a first-aid kit but scolds Dream for killing one of his experiments. He recommends Dream going home early and to rest, since he started to look like having symptoms of a fever. Dream follows his instructions and goes home. Tommy was already home since high school was finished for that day, he tried to tell Dream about his day, but his brother told him he was feeling sick so he needed to rest. Tommy understood and went quiet (but he left him a cup of water with some pills on the bedside table and put a blanket over him when Dream fell asleep without changing his uniform on his bed)

After that incident, Dream got his powers, being the typical Spider-Man abilities, but with a new one included: He is able to manipulate existing cristal, like a window, ice, etc. This also includes the reflection it produces, meaning that is a very useful power if he needs to fool the police to get out of a scene. This power is not too strong but he's working to make it better. NOTE: He can only manipulate cristal that already exists, he can't create new one). Because of his weird behaviour and having compared Spider-Man's powers with the properties of the spider that bit Dream, George is the first one to know Spider-Man's secret identity. He tells this to Dream, and at first he calls him crazy for thinking that, but after George showing a lot of evidence, he accepts defeat. After that George is able to create a better suit for Dream (he used materials he had at home to make his original one).

Because of his job as a coder, a student from college, and being a vigilante that saves New York everyday from crime, he doesn't have much time to spend with Tommy anymore, which Tommy always says he understands this and it's okay with it, because he knows his big brother has worked very hard to get both of them a stable life, so he accepts it (even tho Tommy secretly misses hanging out with his brother, talking about whatever nonsense he wanted to tell and always being heard, play games with him, or just relax by his presence. But he doesn't want to make him feel bad, so he doesn't says anything) (And the same feeling goes for Dream as well).

One night, Dream arrives home very late after a patrol, he's frozen when he sees Tommy sitting in his bed, looking at him -without his mask- (he took it off because he thought Tommy would be asleep because of the hour and wouldn't bee seen by anyone. He didn't thought Tommy would be waiting for him to arrive home, and even less to be in his room -Tommy wanted to feel Dream's presence while waiting for him, so he waited in his brother's room-). Tommy obviously is very shocked and confused by discovering his big brother is the vigilante he has admired since the day he appeared in the city. They get into an argument about Dream risking his life everyday and for not telling him his secret sooner (he felt betrayed when Dream accidentally said that George knew the secret first, and he felt dumb for not realizing sooner this, he felt like he didn't knew his brother that well as the thought so before).

The next day when Dream went to patrol Tommy tried to stop him, he told him he didn't want to lose the only family he had left, he didn't want to see him hurt. Dream told him everything was going to be fine, that he would be there for him always when he was in trouble, that he had his big brother to protect him (it's the same words he told him the night they received the news about his parents, and he has kept that promise since that day)

That day he had a battle with the Vulture in the top of a clock (who I think could be Punz, idk he fits good with the selling illegal weapons and all that), Tommy was near one of the buildings watching the scene (he sneaked out of the house, he wanted to make sure his brother was alright, and also because he wanted to see Dream's fighting style -he still admired the vigilante, and knowing now it was his brother, he admired him more-). When Dream notices Tommy being near, he tries to redirect Vulture's attacks so they can move to another place, so he wouldn't be near Tommy. Vulture, noticing this behaviour, he observes where Dream's glance goes to in those moments he looks away. He notices Tommy, and he takes him as a hostage, thinking that maybe Mirrage-Spider will do what he demands. Dream demands Vulture to let go of the citizen, but Vulture doesn't budge, he demands Mirrage to return him the weapons he took from him, or the kid would get it. Dream did as told, he threw the bag back to him, and told him to let go of the child. Vulture did as asked. He threw Tommy inside the clock. Dream launched one of his webs to Tommy so it would stuck with him and prevent him from hitting the floor. But as in the Andrew Garfield's movie and scene, the force of the web catching Tommy made Tommy's neck snap and killed him.

Dream was left devastated, he lost the only family he had left. He hugged Tommy very hard, hugged him as if he was hiding a small child in his arms, shielding him from the cruel world, his big brother was here, he would always be there to save him from evil...until he didn't.

That day Dream promised himself to never get attached to anyone else, because he feared that he would lose them. He promised himself to always work hard to be a better version of himself. He promised he wouldn't reveal to anyone his secret identity, only George would know. He promised his brother he would try to save everyone he could, to never let evil touch them, because Mirrage was here to save the day, and he would honor his memory by doing so.

He visits Tommy's grave every Friday (that's the day they usually hanged out the most before becoming Mirrage). He tells him stories about his patrols, the jokes Sapnap tells him in class, the way his relationship with George has developed into maybe something more than friends (but he doesn't want to take the next step, he doesn't want to lose him as well). He tells him he feels sorry for not being a good big brother, for failing him when he needed him the most, and that he understands if he never get forgiven by his spirit, that he doesn't deserve his kidness and his love, and that he misses him, and he loves him so much.

OK WOW THAT WAS A LOT MORE TEXT THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE I THINK HAHA. I literally come up with this ideas as I write this, so that's why it can get so long and a bit messy haha. Hello! I asked the cards your question and the first pull was the 3 of Coins, Queen of Coins and Page of Cups.

So, 3 of Coins means they are working well together as a team. They get along well and they complement each other in this team. Queen of Coins points to them being very practical, stable, confident in their on and off screen relationship, organized and professional. If this is Dakota, she is all that and good to collaborate with. Page of Cups represents them being creative, open to new ideas, excited about the project and very sensitive and comfortable at expressing themselves. If that is Pedro, he’s content and eager to work on this project and with Dakota.

The second pull was the King of Coins, The Star and 10 of Cups. King of Coins means their off screen chemistry is super successful. They are established in their careers, experienced, they see each other’s worth as professionals and, again, they feel confident in what they are doing. If that is Pedro, he’s caring and reliable and satisfied with where he is. The Star points to them feeling positive, hopeful and optimistic and a very nice and relaxed environment to work at. 10 of Cups is success AND happiness, joy and satisfaction, being where you want to be and rejoicing in what you have done and are doing.

So I would say their off screen chemistry is doing quite well. 😃

TMMN: Masaya/Ichigo relationship analysis, episode 17

In this episode the ichisaya scene is only at the end and lasts less than 30 seconds, but there is a lot to say about it. That's why I'm still going to treat this post as an analysis.

First of all, a terminological clarification that made me a little perplexed. In English, I always see fans refer to Masaya and Ichigo's "status" as "dating." Not being an English native, I thought “well, that's their way of describing a stable couple”, even if it always gave me a strange, superficial and not serious feeling. Dating gave me a bit of the impression of two people who start to go out together but aren't a couple yet, in the sense that they are not officially a couple, but maybe I was wrong. But then, by chance, on Wikipedia, I read this: “Dating is a term coined in America to signify that stage of romantic relationships in which two individuals engage in an activity together, most often with the intention of evaluating each other's suitability as a partner in a future intimate relationship.”

Then no. Absolutely not. Dating was the right term for the two of them in season 1, and it perfectly reflected their status: a boy and a girl who like each other and go out together to consider starting a stable relationship. But from season 2 they are in a stable relationship, they are not dating, they are no longer considering whether to choose each other as a partner, they have already officially chosen each other in episode 12. So, what can be a more suitable term, in English, to define their status? I also found this on Wikipedia: “In Britain, if two people are 'going out together,' it may mean they're dating but that their relationship has advanced to a relatively long-standing and sexual boyfriend-girlfriend relationship although they're not cohabiting.”

Oh, that's a much more fitting term for Masaya and Ichigo. So if we want to use an English term to define what they do, they go out together in the British sense, they don't date in the American sense. However, in Italian “going out together” is still a weak term for a stable relationship with a strong bond like theirs, we understand it as “they like each other, they go out together, but it's not serious, and she or he can for example going out with other people, they don't have a duty of fidelity and devotion like in a real couple, etc.”. In short, it’s their situation in the S1. For the state of Masaya and Ichigo in S2 we say, in the moment they declare their love "they get together", and from there on "they stay together". This is the same British concept as above, but more seriously defined. They don't just date, but in life in general they are united by an intimate bond as a couple, even if they are not yet living together.

Now, as for the episode itself, here's a handy bullet list:

- First of all, I really appreciated that Masaya was included in a "friendly" moment among all the other characters and could enjoy a moment of common leisure with them, instead of being relegated outside and being framed only with Ichigo; I also really appreciate that it was a moment between him and Ichigo that triggered her transformation instead of her bumping into Kei, like in the manga;

- Furthermore, even in a short scene like this, it is shown how the relationship of these two gradually evolves and grows. Although short, this scene has a crazy passion, similar to the episode 10 scene, but with a substantial difference. There, Masaya had acted on impulse, driven first by jealousy of her and then by the resulting desire to be closer to her. It's evident that here he has not acted on impulse at all, but everything he does he has thought and decided, among other things despite the fact that they are together with other people. This means that Masaya is gradually losing the shyness towards Ichigo, which he still displayed in episode 13, becoming more and more loose with her, showing her the passionate side of her without the need for a trigger. In fact, then we see him completely satisfied, with himself and with the effect he has had on her; and by the way I love her expression while he compliments her, simple but very much in love. You can see that he is really into her;

- Speaking of the scene itself, I think this is the first time ever in the entire franchise where Masaya compliments Ichigo on her appearance. I don't think she's ever told her before that she's cute or adorable. I'm really soooo happy that in New he does it, like a real boy complimenting his girlfriend telling her she's beautiful and pretty;

- And speaking of what he does… is it just me or does it seem that his whole attitude hides a marked passion/desire/sexual charge? That is, let's talk about it: she whispers to Ichigo with a persuasive voice, takes the popcorn from her cheek, eats it and before eating it she looks at her in a way that… I couldn't better define. Then assuming a satisfied expression. Now... I can't define well the symbology behind taking a piece of food from the body of your girlfriend and eating it, but it gives me the impression that it hides something strongly physical (a bit like the girl who licks and sucks her boyfriend's fingers. I'm not going to tell you what that means, I think you know very well too). In fact, I think that if Ichigo gets so excited that she turns into a cat, she has definitely caught this allusion;

- But in the anime, does Masaya know that Ichigo can transform into a cat or not? In the manga he doesn't know, but here I’m not sure. Does he keep his eyes closed because he wants to pretend he didn't see her, or does he spontaneously stay like that because he's, um… aroused and caught up in the moment?

- And finally: I know this won't happen in the next episode, but it makes me laugh to think what could happen if Masaya went out to look for Ichigo and saw her lying down with Ryo on top of her. 🤣

There's still one last thing to say: with this episode, it seems completely clear to me that the final scene that took place in the manga at the aquarium won't be in the anime. And this, unlike other scenes, cannot be moved later, because its stong point is precisely the fact that Ichigo doesn't know that Masaya knows, and if the picnic episode will take place between two episodes as I assume, it won't be possible to insert it again. Am I disappointed? Well yes and no. Let's say that that scene has been partially replaced with the scene of Masaya looking for Ichigo and being frustrated because he can't protect her (which wasn't in the manga). In the manga the next scene was necessary because we, until that moment, never see Masaya worried about her or that he wants to protect her but he can't. So there's that scene where he talks to Mew Ichigo where he says all those things, "retrieving" what he's never shown before. In New this scene is not there, but there are many other scenes where he shows his concern for her and how much she means to him, even if he doesn't say it. And in the manga, up to that point, it wasn't clear whether Masaya knew whether or not Mew Ichigo was her, so that scene served to further confuse. In the anime, however, it is very clear that he knows. For all these reasons the authors have surely considered that scene no longer necessary, replaced by many other previous scenes and therefore eliminated. Unlike the manga, in the anime Masaya is a character who speaks little but does and shows a lot.

10. mol leed x univen

cursed pairing srsly. one might think that theyd be great for each other cause they are both horrible people in general, but that is dooming one more person to be the abuse victim of univen's fuckery and as bad as mol leed is, pairing him (or most others) with univen is just inhumane. his only saving grace is that he would die of radiation poisoning within a few months because univen is radioactive

also mol leed cheated on rosai with univen. i didnt even know they could do that. i thought hed just reject her because he was already in a relationship

9. vipera x sikra

the two to least likely get together on the entire list; vipera would definitely not get into a relationship with anyone and especially 'i only like men who are pathetic failures' sikra. the two wouldnt last two seconds in-universe before vipera would try and eat sikra's spine. too bad she doesnt have one.

8. giaxxa x tip

the only couple on here who would even have a chance of becoming a legitimate thing in-universe, though not out of love. unfortunately ive already explored that scenario, and itd lead to an extremely toxic relationship filled with resentment on giaxxa's side and neglect on tip's side. however the two are good people so long as they don't get together (and so long as tip's mother doesn't interfere too much in his personal life)

7. shönen x pag

heartbreaking: wrestling champion godess marries worlds most boring dude alive. and she doesnt even like men.

the most interesting thing that could come out of this is a break up, and even that'd put me to sleep

6. pud x big sis

want to give throne a stroke? show him this pairing.

this is just a missmatch of personality, mainly. theyd probably have a fine first few weeks, but big sis would probably drive pud nuts with all her philosophizing (and hallucinogen use).

5. pod x seaadi

the funniest part of this pairing is that in-universe seaadi was dating pud so i like to imagine that he just misread pud's name and now started to accidentally date his lover's aunt.

4. tud x okai

from here on, the relationships could actually work. this one wouldnt work THE best, especially with these two's history with politics and responsibility amongst family, but they'd prolly have fun most of the time

tud would not be happy about being dragged right back into politics after they thrusted that job onto pag though

3. king x frishik

the most stable relationship here, with the both of them being extremely calm and rational (in most cases). they'd also be terrifying as a fighting duo

2. sur x tip

this is the FUNNIEST combination i couldve ever hoped for.

tip, older brother of tip, fell in love with his younger brother's girlfriend, giaxxa. he asked her out twice and got rejected both times, then he asked sur, giaxxa's mother, out and actually got together with her. tip has become his younger brother's father in law, and later had a child with sur, making that kid both giaxxa's brother and nephew. giaxxa had already a weird family due to his sister being older than her mother by nearly two decades, the poor girl will never get a break

and the two could actually make this work. they've got quite a few things in common and tip has a type for women like sur anyways. sur might need a bit of time to warm up to him, but she enjoys ripping on people who act stupid as hell anyways, and tip would provide a fortune for her

nym x glitch 7

how funny that the two victims of the worst couple on here would make the best couple, but i can genuinely see this one. nym's main interest (linguistics and languages) is one of glitch 7's domains as a god, and the two would probably love to go clubbing together. plus nym would finally have a girl interested in him too, instead of just being drowned in potential boyfriends

also glitch would absolutely carry nym around in one arm when hes feeling lazy and/or sad

💔(Is it hard being away from eachother?)

18!: For Lily is extremely hard to be away from him for a day, so when graduation happened and she was gonna go home. She had a breakdown Infront of everyone, saying how much she's gonna miss him, and how she doesn't know how she'll love on without him. Jyushimatsu on the other had, was upset, but was more worried about calming her down than worrying about their future. After her did calm her down, reality set in that they may not ever see eachother again, so he started pouting and being all angsty.

27+: After not seeing eachother for 10 years, they pretty much are not worried about being away from eachother. Lily over the ten years got over her speration anxiety, it'll kick in if she has no contact with him for over 4 days. But Jyushimatsu is pretty emotionally stable (unlike Lily.)

☕(How do they comfort eachother after a bad day?)

18!: Jyushimatsu doesn't really know how to comfort her, other than just holding her(which for the most part works) Lily doesn't know how to comfort either, so she just starts trying to make him smile with jokes, hugs, or gifts. (mainly hugs because she likes them)

27+: Jyushimatsu has now mastered how to comfort her. He gives her hugs and kisses (which works everytime) then followed by a few jokes, and if she's mad let her rant(even though that's probably not the root of her problem)

Lily has gotten better at comforting him, it's just lots of hug and kisses, and telling him how he's the best of best.

💐(How did you two meet?)

18!: The both met eachother in their senior year of highschool, around the frist couple of weeks of the school year. Lily and Jyushimatsu shared a math class together(along with choromastu but he's not important rn), so they both knew about eachother (because he was one of the sextuplets and she was the new foreign exchange student.)

The very first time Lily tried talking to him, her Japanese was so bad that there was basically no communication between them, so she started studying it so hard in the span of 2 weeks to try and talk to him again.

The second time, she just walked straight up to him and demanded that they be friends. (It took them a month to actually start becoming friends.)

27+: Lily tried to talk to him again (after not seeing him for ten years) but when she was about to walk up to him, he was with his brothers, so she couldn't tell them apart.

She then saw him in the park two days later. She then got worried again that she saw one of his brothers and not him(in her eyes walking up to him and saying"Hey Jyushi!" And it ending up being one of his brothers is more embarrassing than spelling water on her pants), so she gave up, till he ran up to and started talking to her.

27+: Jyushimatsu will kiss her anywhere on her body, but his favorite part is her face, mainly her lips because he likes the fact he got his first kiss before his bothers.

Lily's favorite spots, are his cheeks and nose, because seeing his face scrunch up, is the cutest thing to her.

18!: They both just hug, but one time Lily accidentally kissed him on the cheek while hugging him.

🛡️(Who's more protective?)

18!: Neither of them are super protective. Jyushimatsu is secretly a coward, while Lily is just super clingy.

27+: Neither of them are over protective, but Jyushimatsu is definitely more protective than her. He'll protect her from anything(because she has the strength of a twing) but he knows there are situations she can handle herself. Lily knows he can handle himself in any situation, but when someone starts insulting him, after he has told the person to stop, she'll start screaming at them like a banshee. He ultimately has to hold her down from getting in someone's face.(She has a lot of rage that doesn't come out often, so when it does it's normally on some poor stranger)
