birdcage why is college so expensive. sorry this is weird ask i am going SICKO mode right now
my friend i wish i knew. i do not know what country you are coming to me from but here in the united states of hell, i feel only rage when i think about how university is free in some countries. like rn in graduate horror funhouse college, i just paid for a semester where the line items for cost were "credits" + "fees". tf am i paying for here. give me a line item breakdown. tell me exactly where my money is going so i feel empowered as a student!!
i am sorry you are in the thick of it, you have my greatest sympathies. if you have to take out federal student aid, my main recommendation is whenever you have to call their customer service line to get some nonsense bullshit sorted out, be really careful about what you dial bc one time i misdialed my student loan servicer by one number and ended up on the phone with a sex line call center. the psychic damage i took was immense. "hey handsome thank you for calling [name of the sex line call center i forgot what it was], are you touching yourself? would you like to be?" "this is not my federal student aid loan service customer help line......is it??" and it wasn't.

A little love letter to Din Djarin writers... 🤍
I love that some of you write him as soft and gentle while others focus on the darker, harsher parts of his personality. I love that he can be both a quiet, kind man caring for his child or an intimidating, terrifying bounty hunter who is a lean, mean killing machine... depending on what the fic warrants.
I love how you write him with other characters from The Mandalorian or even with those who would never cross paths with him in canon, from Star Wars or elsewhere. I love how you write him interacting with yourselves and us, and some of you even create your own original characters to exist a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away alongside him.
I love that some of you ship him with that one other special person, while others recognise how desirable he is and ship alllllll the ships. Not forgetting those of you which are here for none of those ships and/or even headcanon him as ace. I love that any of those options allow you to explore your own identities and sexualities through him.
I love that you can write the most tooth-rotting fluff or filthiest smut, and all of those things in between. Whether it's for general audiences or explicit and strictly 18+ ... all of your fics have an audience and someone out there who appreciates your writing.
I love how differently you can interpret him, but there are also so many common themes and tropes running through your writing. I love that there is room for all of your Dins here.
I love that he means so much to you and that all of us here hold him in our hearts a little bit. I love that we can all watch the same episodes and come to entirely different conclusions about him. I love how much we love him.
Getting to be a part of this wonderful community and interact with so many people who love the space tin can man as much as I do has truly been one of the best things that happened to me recently. I'm so glad I made this little blog... It reminded me just how good fandom can be. I am blown away by the number of talented people here!
So, I just wanted to take a moment to express some gratitude towards all of you! Thank you for writing your Dins and please don't ever stop. Finally.... last, but not least:
I love Din Djarin!!!

the thing that gets me about the "must read 100 books a year Or Else" thing is that you just.... don't see it with any other hobby?
no one (as far as I know) is telling knitters "you have to knit 100 projects in a year, it doesn't matter if they turn out holey or misshapen or ugly, it matters that you made so many of them!" pretty sure no one is telling gamers "you have to play 100 games a year, doesn't matter if you really enjoy them or explore the worlds, what's important is that you finish them!"
So...why, and I say this as someone who's a fairly fast reader and has read a lot this year, are (terminally online) readers so obsessed with numbers? Is it because more books = more intelligent? Is it just Number Go Up mentality? I understand the thrill of wanting to beat your past self and read more books than the year before or whatever, but why do you expect to hold others to your standards??

you've probably been asked this before but if you could change anything (rewrite remove add) about ctntduo (character, dynamic, events) what would it be?
Interesting, haven't been asked this before actually!
One of the crucial issues with ctntduo especially once it was established as an actual plot point during Las Nevadas is that while ccWilbur was focused on his own arc and how he and quackity were paralleled, ccQuackity had his own story to tell. He clearly included cWilbur's influence on his character, but nothing past this. I think it impacted the weight of tntduo's dynamic in the story.
In his finale and pentultimate stream, Quackity focused a lot more on dapuo and his character's dynamic with Charlie. I don't even fully agree with how it went, because he clearly wanted to include more stuff with the whole las nevadas crew and his dynamic with Charlie kind of went into a direction that didn't really fully flesh out their nuances that I would have liked. Charlie was a bit... woobified in his writing. But most significantly for this post, Quackity did not have the same emotional investment for ctntduo for the same way Wilbur did, and it accidentally shifted the character dynamic to being less of equal stance too.
So firstly, I mean this is a common suggestion but to have more streams with Wilbur to intersect the burger arc was one thing. I really like how it was more in Wilbur's POV to make Quackity's role in this more uncertain! But I would have desperately wanted Wilbur to have taken part of the prison break, clearly idolized Dream for saving him, then wrestled with exile after Tommy told him. Pissed off Quackity got to Dream before he did. Wished it was him doing the heroic torturing to gleefully put himself as the hero "saving" his brother. Inconsolable differences, where Wilbur straight up fantasizes killing cDream over and over was one of the most beautiful streams ever tbh.
Another theory that my friend suggested and NEVER got out of my head is that after Wilbur planted tnt detonations to fuck with Quackity, Quackity actively destroys a part of his city and blames it on Wilbur. Vile. Underhanded. No one has any evidence and people are quick to turn on Wilbur -- Tommy believes him though.
And, I've never admitted this but I personally believe Wilbur's finale had initially involved asking Quackity run away with him to Utah. I know. Not Tommy, he'd idiotically choose Quackity. I know that sounds really stupid but for this to work, Quackity would immediately turn him down. It would parallel when Wilbur eagerly accepts the "offer" to join Quackity's Las Nevadas from the very beginning. During that time, Wilbur is so in disbelief that Quackity would turn him down. You can see him convincing himself that he's changed for the better, you can see him really believing he'd be the perfect man for the job. But this time, when Quackity says no, Wilbur accepts it.
They would never work out, bc that is not the POINT of ctntduo. Each have their own arcs that are not resolved by ending up together. They go their separate ways in the end, but respect each other. I never liked him anyway.
so TLDR
More burger lore streams... We really didn't get much of ctntduo
Dream's prison break with Wilbur's slow descent realizing his "saviour" is not to be idolized
Quackity destroys part himself in the process trying to get back at Wilbur
"Come to Utah with me?" "...I won't."

so! so the thing is- often there'll be just fluff or just angst in any form of media fanart fanfic etc and i just think i mean
you cant really have one without the other? angst doesnt work unless you have a little bit of fluff mixed in, even if its just imagining or memories or dreams
and fluff just tastes so much sweeter after you've read like 20 chapters of angst you know what i mean?? just like-
angst and fluff mix so well and are just so TASTY together you have agnst and then you have fluff and just- MWAH these are the fics and art that just make me internally combust *cough closer to another shore cough*

Hello! I’m a new author here and I just wondered: how long did it take you to gain the number of followers you now have? If the question is uncomfortable for you or if the info is private, just leave this unanswered!
And thank you for the amazing content you create 💜
hey hi! (o゚v゚)ノ
i had to think for a while how to answer this question. i could just be blunt and tell you exact numbers but if i'm being honest i don't see how any of this information could be useful for you as a new writer?
one thing i really like about Tumblr is that you don't see someone's follower count. and i know everyone always likes to pretend that the numbers don't matter but at the end of the day they're still there and you'll inevitably end up comparing them. and i truly hate that. i don't think your follower count is a decent measurement on how good you are in telling a story as a writer.
for me, i've made the decision earlier this year to not share my follower count here publicly anymore because i feel it creates this strange air of competitiveness that just kills all creative energy for me. i'm aware i hosted milestone events in the past and contributed to the problem, but i think that's exactly why i made the decision not to do so anymore (no judgement to anyone who does though, everyone is free to celebrate in their own ways)
do i still look at the numbers? sure. but i'm not as obsessed with them anymore like i used to be and don't feel the need to compare myself with other writers, i can simply celebrate them.
this might not be the answer you were looking for and i apologize for that, but what i'm wishing you is that you find joy in writing and can share it without letting those numbers get in your head! if you're writing with the thought of "what will bring me the most notes and followers" in mind, i can guarantee you that you'll burn out in no time (and it will show in your writing). do your thing and have fun with, celebrate your milestones but don't let them control you. i'm sure you'll do great! good luck!

Can you see the eclipse today? If yes what is your plan for today. If no do you wish to see an eclipse someday ?
Personally I will watch the eclipse today. I plan to watch close to where I live since my town is in the totality of the eclipse. Also closed everything at home to be sure that my cat don't see anything so his eyes will be okay.
Boop back!!
i can see the eclipse today, but i don't plan on seeing it, lol!! i would prolly prefer watching it from an observatory, lmao!! but i am super busy this week because of final exams, and i should prioritize studying rn!! but i follow a bunch of astrophysicists, so i'm sure they will post a nice video for me to look at!! yes, we closed the curtains for albert today as well!! he needs to be protected!!

I’m just so… I don’t want jaehyun to eventually alter the way he acts or presents himself due to backlash from fans (in and out of the bonedo fandom) regarding his “loudness” and energy. it doesn’t cause harm to him or his band members. he’s relatively good at reading the room and adjusting his seriousness (like sometimes I think people think they chose the bonedo leader willy nilly lmao) and he’s not oblivious or unaware of his bandmates and others. like anyone else, I’m sure there’s moments when he might need help refocusing or w/e, but I have yet to see anyone who is warranted to have an opinion (ie: knows him irl) react negatively to his personality? like he’s not the first idol to be talkative. he’s not the first idol that might run around a bit. he’s not the first idol to make a lot of jokes or flirt with half his bandmates. it’s not a new personality. it’s a little different than what we see in other leaders but again, it’s not “new”. loud people were not invented in 2003. and over time, maybe he’ll mellow out a bit. it happens. or maybe he’ll remain as he is, that’s cool too. and as a leader, I kind of hope for the latter bc the industry will work them and burn them out and I hope they’re able to maintain their youth and softness towards the world. that not everything is a battle or a fight, that the job while a job, can be one they continue to enjoy to do.
