Wait people actually think William has a sad backstory to explain why he kills kids? Literally the only semblance of a canonical motive he had is being jealous of Henry and liking the power he has over his victims in the tse trilogy (which is 50/50 on being canon to the games). Anything else is just a theory. People know this right?

I do not care what the poster is implying, no one gets to call out the new season of GO for queerbaiting if aziraphale and crowley don’t end up being a traditional love story.

Queerbaiting has been used time and time again for marketing purposes, leaving queer watchers desperate for some kind of identification with the people they saw on screen. Queerbaiting creates, bathes and feeds off the drama, controversy and hype it creates. It’s a vicious and insidious way to make sure that audiences stay steady, season after season, hoping and wishing for the illusion that mainstream media cares about them too.

Good Omens needs neither the hype nor this kind of influence on the ratings. Neil has said over and over that the love is there, that it’s been in plain sight all along. For all these iconic lines of S1, every single one of them screams i love you. Good Omens (and Sandman too for that matter) don’t shy away from complex, wonderful characters that broadcast love in all its complex, wonderful reality. Isn’t that what we’ve wanted all these years? Queer characters which are flawed and messy and brave in the way they love ? Not just bc they kissed at the end of the movie, but bc they’re a vessel for all these emotions which never had a place on screen before now ?

We shouldn’t let the (albeit justified) distrust for queer representation in media stop us from enjoying these kinds of portrayals of love. Not when they so openly, so wholeheartedly present themselves to us.
