Is Kabru a Twink? A possible answer from queer history

Abstract: ever since his introduction, discussion amongst Kabru scholars has been vivacious, sometimes to the point of some vitriol, on one particular specific point: does Kabru of Utaya fulfill the basic traits of a twink? There are points to be made on both sides of the issues. The solution proposed in this paper aims to be the compromise that might allow the scientific community to move on from this terminological impasse.

First of all, since this is a terminological discussion, let's start with a few definitions. What is a twink?

Twinks are typically associated with a few key tropes: general physical attractiveness, a slim build, and a youthful appearance that lacks facial hair and often body hair as well.[1] In his book Never Enough (2007), Joe McGinniss describes a court case in which twink was defined as "a gay slang term used to denote an attractive, boyish-looking gay man between the ages of 18 and 23, slender ectomorph and with little or no body hair, often blond, often but not necessarily Caucasian."

Now sadly we don't have the time to delve into the ways the term "twink" has sometimes be used to enforce ageism, racism and fatphobia in the LGBT+ community, since we are talking about, you know, a fictional character in a fantasy. We will refrain from judgement and just base ourself on these barebones definitions without further fleshing them out.

On the surface, Kabru fulfills many of the requirements for a twink. His build is slender (tho more on that later), he is in the age range (22, altho its worth noting age of majority in the dunmeshi world is 16).

Also, he has the baby face. Round cheeks, long lashes, big eyes... Like there's no way around it thats the kind of face some seme asshole would grab by the chin as they call him "pretty boy" in a bl manga. That's a face that gets men who have always considered themselves hetero to question a thing or two. That's a face that gets your landlord to make your laundry for free.

Kabru Schrödinger's twink paradox comes from the fact that as someone who practices swordfighting and wears an armour (a lighter one but still) and marches for days in the dungeon, he MUST be muscular. There is no way around this. And this goes against one of the basic tenets of twinkhood, which is Twinks MUST Be Lithe And Delicate.

To further this point, I will quote from this article from OUT magazine titled "Dear Internet: THIS is what the word 'twink' really means", dated 01 March 2024 [retrieved 2024-06-12]:

"But the things that tie all these definitions together include being gay, being thin, young-looking, little to no body hair and no facial hair, and attractive. So NO, 27-year-old with a ’70s mustache and buff arms full of the tattoos he’s gotten over his adult life is, you guessed it, NOT a twink..."

As you can see, emphasis is put on the lack of muscles. While Kabru has no facial hair, we can however substitute the tattoos for the many scars he has received in battle - his body looks much more like the body of a man who is weary with experience. Again, keeping in mind that the age of majority in dunmeshi for tallmen is 16 and Kabru is 22, we could argue that proportionally, at least culturally, Kabru leans towards being almost too old for a twink, too, and his scars can be symbolic of that in much the same way tattoos are.

Also, in both the definitions above a tendency towards feminine-coded behaviour is noted. In Kabru's case, while see him occasionally engaging in behaviour that might read as slightly feminine, we see him also assume very masculine roles both in his party and during battle. Its also worth noting that Kabru was raised by elves, a culture whose aesthetic standards lean heavily towards what reads as feminine to tallmen, and that Kabru himself is characterised as someone who heavily adapts his behaviour based on other's expectation - we can therefore argue that it is possible that what "effeminate" behaviour he engages in is actually a result of his upbringing, as well as a way to endear/ingratiate himself to those that he judges would respond better to such behaviour, rather than a matter of self-expression.

Now, i already hear the objections, so i will further elaborate on the muscle point. Having been killed and resuscitated so many times, Kabru has lost the soft layer of fat that makes Laios body so evidently strong, and it has probably even started to cut into his muscles. Also, differently from Laios' stout build, we see young teen Kabru in a few illustrations with Milsiril and he IS naturally lanky - even at his top weight its probably going to look more like an athletics/gymnastics body type than the wrestler/weightlifter type.

However, the muscles ARE there, and losing the layer of fat would make them even MORE visible. He is more likely to have defined cut abs than Laios, paradoxically. And again, if you look at the classic twink porn, the boys rarely have sixpacks or even visible arm muscles. They're bony.

Thankfully this is not the first time the lgbt+ community has been faced with this dilemma. Therefore, falling back on the wisdom of our elders, i propose: Kabru is a twunk.

Tw: incest, gender dysphoria, homophobic parents, sexual assault.

In our country you have to give a board exam (goverment??? Exam??? Similar to SATs) at the end of your 5 grade. So you need a primary school certificate (PSC)

After my PSC, my parents fixed up my Tablet. And went to work., i sat on my leaving room couch with blankets and pillows for a whole month (there was a dent on the couch when i actually got up for 6th grade) and i surfed the internet in those weeks.

I saw the malec video on yt ( i didnt click on it and didnt think much of it)

So my friend told me to watch anime. Somehow searching 'anime' on yt lead me to an anime 'Super lovers' (yaoi, pseudo incest, pedophilic and rapey everything under the sun you can find, its in super lovers) also i was like 11. 5 years old at this point. I have no concept of whats right or wrong. And bc of these animes (theres so much of it) i thought incest was fine. I also got into Todobaku and bakudeku. And thats part was fine i was mainly watching edits on yt. Then i started reading yaoi mangas and wattpad stories and gacha vids (And yes incest is still featuring on these stories for the most part)

Somewhere along the line, i was like, this feels weird (it was a particularity bad wattpad story with incest i think) i was already consuming gay content for months by then. (I still hadnt started 6th grade mind you.) and my standard for content increased a bit. And i stopped engaging with incest fics and mangas completely. After i distanced myself from it i realised how fucked that was and moved on from it.

But i still engaged with gay content. Somehow i stumbled upon the malec vid again. I watched it. (The first time im seeing live action gay ppl on screen) then i got into thai bl. ("Love by chance" was my first) the thai bl scene was a bit better. Around this time i read bl, watched bl and started to research about gay culture and what not. I figured out i was attracted to girls before i even went back to school

When i went back to school I became friends with a girl (lets call her bunny) I knew bunny since 5th grade but i didnt talked to her that year. she was smart and cool and i had a bit of crush on her from afar.

(5th grade before gay awakening) One time in my school bus while guessing one of my "friends" crushes i asked if he had a crush on bunny, he laughed, i "joked" if i was a boy, i would grow up to marry her. That 'friend' emptied his water bottle on my head as a response.

In 6th grade, the first week (maybe 2nd /3rd January), bunny and i got selected for a group project along with other friends. Me and another friend went to bunny's house for the project. The other friend left. After that friend left bunny and I started to unpack our traumas for each other. Family troubles and what not. I (being the dumb bitch i am) told her that i liked her (and also the water bottle thing) and that i liked girls too (at this point I identified as bi)

In class 6 and of fuckery happend, but me and bunny became bsfs so fast, with in a day. And we were inseparable. I asked her out and she laughed in my face. And we laughed about it years later too. 6th grade ends with her being made at me for smth i didnt even do wrong and some other shit with out toxicest friened. (We werent hanging out by the end of the year)

(Also i finished all off the percy jackson and percy jackson spin offs in 6th grade) and i also told my dad that i liked girls too. He conveniently forgot it for the nest year.

I come back for 7th grade knowing I was bi or pan (couldnt decide which i identified with the most) i start hanging out with a group of boys. Then covid happens.

Lockdown at the begining was fine (terrified but fine) around the second month of lockdown some genderfuckery started to happen. I would forget my own gender (round the time i was falling asleep or waking up). I started consuming for trans stuff around this time. And i journaled on my sketchbook with doodles and cried on it. I had terrible dysphoria. And i didnt even have a name for it in the begining. And one day the pain became too much and i broke in front of my mother. I came out to her. She ignored me. (Muslim parents) she said i was just a tomboy and "theres nothing wrong with me" and other stuff. I was sure i was trans. And non binary (trans tiktok helped with that bit).

My dysphoria became worse as time went on. Just before time of my birthday. My step mother bought me some books i asked for (queer books) and it had Chain of Gold She saw that it had just come out and thought i would like it. So i was reading chain of Gold. And i didnt get shit. I maybe read 100 pages before i decided that i needed context. I went on goggle and searched the best ways to read cassandra clare books in order and they said that Series wise is best. So i started City of bones (worse mistake of my life)

It was on yt so i started with it first. I already knew before starting that jace and clary werent related and incest might come up. (I didnt know it was that levels of fucked in the books) i just saw a pinterest meme where it was said rather jokingly.

Anyway i finished the whole part one and two of The mortal instruments. I read it for Malec bc they were the only gay characters. I have 101 problems with this series but my most major one was Malec. So at this point in my life i was a closeted trans, (multispec) queer kid Something about reading Queer characters tell each other horrible things about bejng closted and bisexual made me hate myself more. Malec didnt not develope my internalized homophobia, it definately fueled it tho. After my birthday i got grounded (my parents found out the queer content i was engaging with. It was very traumatic. I came out to them and my dad to my face said that i am not queer, instead i am fetishizing queerness and i was engaging in perversion.)

Alot happend many times my parents tried to distance me from queer culture and media but gave up.

As 7th grade ended me and bunny reconnected (shit also happend when my mother read our chats)

Around 8th grade i cried and begged to my mother that i am not going to change and all that jazz, she didnt say anything. But she became more on gaurd, she would analyze my interactions with other girls differently (one time while riding in her scooty, i was in the back said and waved to a girl that was starting at me for some reason) my mother told my dad that shes afraid im flirting with girls AS IM ON THE SCOOTER WITH HER-

In class 8 bunny pulled some shit (i explained it in another post i think) also i finally watched the shadowhunter series show malec healed the wounds that book malec anf my parents left. I was for the most part okay i think (academic studies were my biggest problem)

In class 9 around second half of the year i joined tumblr (helped my mental health immense, finding other gay ppl) and i asked for a book from my step mother (it was a bangla book about a trans girl) my dad delivered it to me. And said that he got that i wasnt going to change (BC LORD KNOWS THEY TRIED) he told me to study well so i could go live abroad bc this country will have me dead. I agreed and took the book (i couldnt finish the book, it was too dark for me at times, i gave the book to bunny).

Bunny and my relationship is vented about in another post. I wont get it.

So my problem with cassandra clare happens for three major personal reasons, one of them i didnt even mention bc i still feel weird about it.

1. The Malec part.

2. The incest part : reading TMI made me relive that first part where i engaged with incestuous content. And just disturbed me to my core this time around EVENTHOUGH I HAD A MILD HEADS UP i didnt know the extent of its fuckery. I dont know why but it just turnt the disgust at incest meter up the roof. Like completely fucked my brain and i wasnt okay. (I was 13/14 my birthday fell in the middle)

3. The sexual assault of Aline.

As a child (9/10 yrs old) i was assulted in an crowded elevator, my dad was in the elevator, i didnt not see the assulters face. I just remember being sqished against the wall, with a mans hand jammed between my legs. I rember trying to flatten myself against the wall to get away from the hand but it woulnt stop. The hand was knuckles deep between my thighs. I didnt see the mans face. I dont rememeber what he looked like from the back. After we got out i told my dad. He barely reacted and said 'people are assholes'. I told my mother about it.... Earlier This year. I thought if i had told her, she wouldnt let me hang out with dad anymore. He was so nonchalant about it that i thought i was over reacting.

Reading the Aline SA scene fucked me up. It was the first time i had come across an SA scene in a book, before that it was lightly mentioned. In the Aline scene, my mind visualised the whole thing. And it nearly drove me to a panic attack. I was 13 at this point. And in the books it was never brought up again, like it was no big deal. Like it was normal. It was for shock value. And i fell for it.

And the rest of the tsc is still bad writing and i hated it. But tmi fucked right up mentally and yeah. I have other posts explaining my journey with it, under the tag auru's tsc rant. Those explain it better.

broader (cishet) society has kind of conditioned us for the "born this way, come out loud and proud" view of queerdom where our big mountain to climb is being honest about who we are, and once we're Out, the hard part is done and we can just live comfortably as ourselves. this is ... almost entirely fabricated and has not been the experience of almost any queer person i know. realizing youre queer is the first tiny baby stepping stone for the rest of your journey. ahead of you there is a long and slow and, sometimes arduous, potentially joyful, process of figuring out the things that make you comfortable and happy

because that's really the thing, isnt it? identity labels are HIGHLY dependent on society and culture and time period, and are in no way Fixed and Inherent Facts about the universe or even about human beings. its a name for a collection of similar experiences that, like many things, have more variety within them than between them. two lesbians may have vastly different experiences, while a lesbian and bi woman may be almost identical. a trans man and a butch person may view their masculinity almost the same way but come to different conclusions. three people with similar feelings on gender may identify as nonbinary, agender, and genderqueer because those are the labels that speak to them the most. defining yourself as an identity is not a test you can pass or fail. its a word that you are using as a tool. and that tool unlocks things for you - experiences, community, feelings of safety, comfort, joy, expression

it is natural that our conception of ourselves will change as we grow because we are constantly changing and morphing as we have new experiences, see new things, learn new terms, meet new people. and the terms we use will change too, because that's just what society does. i feel comfortable identifying as nonbinary, and often do, but the term that makes me feel the warm fuzzies is 'genderqueer', because that was what i had as a child when i desperately needed something, and, to my point, the term nonbinary wasnt even a thing yet. literally no one was using that term when i needed it, i wouldnt even hear it used until 7 years after that. and i now am feeling more comfortable identifying as a trans man, even though, many many times, i asked myself "am i trans? am i a dude?" and thought, nah, not me. and then one day it clicked. and my attraction to men clicked. and i thought "well, okay, not a lesbian anymore. lets find out whats comfy now". and it was scary, for sure. but theres also been so much joy in the process of discovery

I beg to differ, maybe for the late 2010′s and performing at award shows but not for kpop as a whole. However, this is always going to be a topic that always going to be two sided. And I full on respect your opinion, because I can see where its coming from. 

I’ve always felt like kpop was just a sub genre like a lot of other music, while its not mainstream and US artist will always have the upperhand in their home country kpop has a large enough following in the US, its just like that time were J-rock and J-pop was huge… btw does anyone remember Puffy AmiYumi?

I think the reason as to why it really looks like they were the ones who paved the way for kpop is because of the social media and fandom culture we have now, from 2005-2014 social media culture wasn’t like what it is today, I’m not even talking about fan interaction either, because I feel like there was way more fan interaction on twitter from the B.A.P members. 

Lets see the timeline of kpop/korean artist making headlines in America 

2005

Rain made headlines for being the first ever Korean artist to perform outside of Asia. He was also the first Korean artist to perform in the US, and let alone do a 2 hour concert. It’s one of the biggest Korean concert that was held in NYC. It even featured Pi Diddy, Omarion, and JoJo Levesque. This was the initial foot print that the hallyu wave had outside of Asia 

2006

Rain made headlines for because Time magazine listed him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, to that Stephen Colbert invited him on his show and they did a parody of Way to Avoid the sun. 

The year that MTV made a special channel on American TV soley for kpop called MTVk

2007

Rain also again gained more american attention for being listed in People’s most beautiful people in the world

Bi Rain and Joon Park both were in Speed Racer, that was a big achievement for Korean Singers… just simply being able to graze the big screen. Rain more so than Joon got a good amount of attention, he even got some American interviews 

2009

Rain and Lee Joon were in Ninja Assassin. Rain made major headlines for again not only being in an American movie but this time actually staring in the movie and about how much training he did just for the movie. 

This was also the same year Korean actor Lee Byun hyun had his US debut 

GD at the time also got some attention after the alleged plagiarism between Heartbreaker and Right Round when Flo Rida performed with him

Wonder Girls made their American debut

I would go more into detail by just tweeting about kpop but thats too much work to look for, kpop is a fad and it comes and goes. I kind of like what Hyukoh said about the whole Hallyu Wave/BTS thing they said “I think it’s really interesting and it’s fun to watch. Because of it, I think in some aspects were are benefitting from it, that’s really great. But nothing is forever, there will be some point when K-pop won’t be as popular. But because we’re not K-pop, I hope we stay popular even when K-pop is not.“

BTS did not start the hallyu wave, nor did they pave they way. They were just the first to walk on that new path which then inspired more to do the same and they were the first to win fandom based awards.

I know this is out of nowhere but I wanted to ask another trans person for advice. Because my family are super nosey and insensitive when asking me questions and just barging in and starting a conversation about what's in my pants, am I gay or straight, misgendering me and just being super fucking rude sometimes I get really mad but then I wonder if I'm even allowed to. Bcs when I get mad they say how else are they supposed to know and I'm just being dramatic and I feel guilty. Maybe their right

There was a few things that made me realize i was trans that really helped me. I write down a lot of what im thinking in notebooks and how i feel to  affirm myself over and over, it helps

-cisgender people have no fucking idea what being trans actually is 99% of the time. I was always told and so i believed being trans was “a boy who wants to be a girl” or a boy “trying” to be a girl, or someone who is “unhappy with their gender” and... etcetera. Being trans is actually realizing that you werent born a girl or boy, you were born a baby with no concept of gender or language or ANYTHING, but society forces the cisgender binary on us through thousands of years of cultural influence. Western culture forces these ridged customs and reinforces them  to uphold oppression. Thats one reason it’s called homophobia/transphobia,  people ARE afraid of lgbt ppl, we turn their perception of what a perfect cis binary society should be on its head by just existing. Their fear turns to hate.

- being trans isnt a political statement/ phase/ trend to get attention and never will be. Its about how you feel about yourself, its never about anyone else. Only you can ever know your true self and your gender, everyone else only sees you how they want to see you, and its influenced by what you show yourself to them. 

- your not wrong or broken or mentally ill for deviating from societies norms. Wanting to love yourself as your gender isnt wrong. Breaking societies imaginary rules doesnt make you ill. 

Like honestly your family sounds abusive and you should seek help, but i really cant give you any advice on how to deal with them specifically because im no professional. Youd have to find a therapist or someone who actually knows how to deal with that kind of problem. All i can really tell you is that im only out to a certain amount of people and “lie” about it a lot, but its not a bad thing to do that. The moment i knew i was 100% a trans man and not a bi woman, lesbian with compulsive heterosexual, or asexual was when I realized i could be any of these things and its okay if i am. Like, i could be any of these and its not wrong. But when i look in the mirror, talk to myself, daydream, and have designated safe spaces with friends/online where i could just sorta trywhatever i wanted and  i just sort of embraced being trans more comfortably then anything else. But i also had to just...isolate anyone else from my mind to see what i really want and who i really am. It sounds dumb but try just meditating on it before you let people gaslight you out of your own gender. I wish i couldve figured mine out earlier, it wouldve helped me a lot.

And yes, I’m aware Ichimatsu has hurt Karamatsu at times (the bazooka, I think smacking?) but he doesn’t LITERALLY ABUSE HIM. You don’t see him kicking him around, PUNCHING HIM, HITTING HIM, EVERY SECOND OF HIS LIFE. Yes, he calls him names. Yes, he’s threatened to hurt him (“I’ll kill you, Shittymatsu.”) but he’s been stopped or HAS stopped every time. If he really was so intent on hurting Karamatsu, don’t you think he wouldn’t ignore his brothers and hurt Karamatsu anyway? But no, he didn’t, and he stopped each time he grabbed Kara. That’s because the entire “Ichimatsu despises Karamatsu” thing is a GAG in the show. It’s meant to be funny. It’s not meant for your negative ass to label it as abuse and then boohoo about it every time Ichimatsu is mentioned. That’s not a valid reason to hate a character, hell, even Karamatsu’s seiyuu said in a Doramatsu CD that Karamatsu was just comic relief. And if you’re gonna look for a reason why Ichimatsu dislikes Karamatsu, consider the hinted and well-supported reason: Ichimatsu “hates” Karamatsu because of how confident he is and how he can always be himself. Ichi is insecure. Ichi is antisocial. Kara, on the other hand, can express himself and show how “cool” he is. Consider that Ichimatsu wants to be more like him, hence why he said he’s the “number one Karamatsu boy” in that one episode.

In conclusion, I would like to say you need to shut the fuck up and chill with your fandoms and headcanons, realize headcanons aren’t canon, and also get your head out of your ass. You’ve done so many wrong things and need to stop blaming them on others. You’ve lied, insulted, and put the blame on so many of your old friends, you’ve avoided people who you deem “toxic” (simply because they have different opinions than you), you think people can’t form their own opinions, and you don’t back up your friends when they’re getting shittalked. You act like an assoholic brat and cannot, for the life of you, open up your eyes and see this. some thoughts about middle earth

elves and dwarves are so confused by men’s gendering?? in both elf and dwarf cultures your gender and physical sex is completely seperate, so when they see a human baby and the parents are like, “yep, this our son, he’s a boy,” the elves and dwarves are so confused?? becaue the child hasn’t gotten a chance to decide for themselves??

elf and dwarf children get to feel out different genders until they feel comfortable to call themselves that gender. even then, theyre free to change it later on if they want

(aragorn was raised as an elf and therefore also went through this process. he tried out being a girl for a few years, then agender, and eventually decided on calling himself a boy. elrond was super proud)

it’s easy to tell with dwarves, bc they have special braids/beads for their gender

elves generally ask each other if theyre unsure, bc theyre deathly afraid of making assumptions, since thats like a really big insult

elves and dwarves each have very distinct body shapes. its difficult to differentiate between a (physically) female or male dwarf and between a (physically) female or male elf, which is great bc it means the humans cant just assume their gender

they dont really gender jobs (eg the woman cant be a guard or the man cant be a cook) bc thats not how elf/dwarf gender works?? theyre like the epitome of gender equality

elves are usually pansexual

dwarves are usually demisexual

ooh, fun! and unless i’m asked otherwise, i always do movieverse, so teen years for kurt would be circus years! great, i was already thinking about that!

raised by romani circus fortune teller margali szardos, along with his two older siblings (her natural children from her late husband. whom kurt is named after btw) stefan and jimaine. 5 and 2 years older respectively

the outfit he wears for his acrobatics act looks like kurt’s iconic black & red leotard from the comics (jimaine aka daytripper gets a similar outfit except its white in the black parts and pink in the red parts)

The Incredible Nightcrawler & The Incomparable Daytripper are a double act, doing like… flips and magic and shit

he’s walked into on other circus folk doing sexual things to each other, like, a lot of times. it keeps happening. its how kurt figured out sex is a thing and it seems to look fun and a bit weird but fun?

massive growth spurt between the age of 15 to 16, like wow

his hair is naturally curly (like wavy fluffy curls when long) but jimaine straightened it for him and added the blue highlights. (she does the same thing to her own hair, and thats where kurt got the idea and asked)

the smile is so blinding that we overlook how kurt naturally goes into a pose. that boy’s a natural model. he’s posed for pictures before! which makes sense. tho i think most of his posters are drawn, there had to be have been some photo taking. that and he’s natural performer!

he’s really good at make-up because the make-up artists at the circus taught him their skills

branching off that, kurt has great artistic skill (his scars and clothing choices are a sign of that) and sketches/doodles a lot

he’s kept a journal since he was a small boy. it acts as an artbook more than a traditional journal because kurt uses drawings more than words. most notable examples are the designs for his enochian marks (margali could never have predicted that kurt drawing swirls was actually a plan) and a lovely head & shoulders sketch of ororo after they meet

being ace (specially bi ace, possibly bi demi) he doesn’t experience sexual attraction and it takes him a bit to realise other people do (observational skills) and he doesn’t have negative feelings about sex or sexuality. in fact, i’d describe him as fascinated/curious at most. he’s realised its a thing most people want, and probably not with him

so specifically he’s a sex positive/indifferent asexual

margali taught him english but he also picked up a lot from american TV, of which he’s a great fan. american pop culture in general is so cool to him

his teleportation power didn’t kick in until relatively late, like… late teens (as a defensive reflex to being threatened by somebody with a gun)

very chubby as a baby, gawky as fuck as a teen

crawled out of his crib at night as a baby lots of times… so margali started calling him… you know where this is going

his first kiss wasn’t very good because it was from jimaine, so he pulled back suddenly in shock/horror and made her lip bleed (LEMME EXPLAIN, yes, i could have abandoned that weird incest shit from the comics all together but i decided to do something else with it for DRAMA. by something else i mean: KURT IS NOT OKAY WITH THIS AT ALL. basically i’ve gone with: stefan doesn’t love him enough and jimaine loves him too much. i allow fucked up shit for the angst okay, im a writer)

take comfort in the fact that whatever sad shit i thrown into kurt’s backstory, that he ends up happy with the x-men. i mean, not always, he has manic depression, but i mean he’s better! also for the most part i actually do imagine kurt had a good childhood. in my version of things, margali is a really good and protective mother

there’s just some… massive bumps along the way. i can’t resist!

like this one: almost lost his virginity to the ringmaster’s wife (the logic being “i should be grateful for the chance”) but was instantly put off and horrified when he realised she wanted to sleep with him on the basis of  wanting to fuck a freak… (i imagined this story after the realisation that in the x-men universe there’d be people who’d fetishize mutants, so i imagined a scenario wherein kurt encounters somebody like that. like, im not being needlessly cruel here, there are reasons for things)

loves 80s pop & techno and has quite a talent for break dancing

upon BAMFing for the first time he was understandably scared and confused, then realising he’d gone away a distance, he was EXHILARATED. i imagine that one’s powers unlocking for the first time causes an unbelievable energy burst, too 

kurt loved being in the circus because he loves to make people (the audience) happy, especially the children
