nina and kate didn't know eachother for a long time. when they first met, nina was deep in her relationship with jeff. she was at a really low point, super dramatic and emotional and constantly fighting for attention, glamor, material goods, and men to prove her self worth (or further deteriorate it..)

meanwhile kates been lost in that forest for years. her closest friend is Toby, and even that's largely built on both being the 'runt' of the proxies. she occasionally works on the farm with the animals, rarely ever goes out in public, sleeps on fucking coal and dirt every other night.

so i'll talk about how they first met!

Nina and Kate's first meeting is a fucking MESS.

nina would be wandering through the forest, headphones in and music blaring. she'd be on her way to hang out with Toby and Clocky, so excited she's practically bouncing off the fucking trees.

she's oblivious to kate watching her for the last 10 minutes. until, of course, she catches a glimpse of her. all she sees is dark pants, a blood stained white-hoodie, black shaggy hair.... she thinks its jeff.

this would already be pushing her luck, but she hadn't seen jeff in a couple weeks. so she'd quickly start running to the figure, laughing and waving her arms and being way too excited. she'd try to throw herself into a hug, only to be met with a hand on her throat and getting slammed into a tree.

kate would ask who the fuck she is, what she thinks shes doing there, something something 'are you fucking stupid? youre gonna get eaten alive' something. nina would probably be in a lot of shock, just grabbing kate's hand to alleviate the pressure on her throat, lifting her knees so kate couldnt get too close. the fear couldnt meet the embarrassment, though, especially when kate gets torn off of her by toby. did he HAVE to watch that happen?

toby would shout something at kate, smack the back of her head and tell her not to put her hands on nina. 'thats my fucking friend you dumbass' etc etc etc.

while kate is a fucking SOLDIER working for O/S, she's really docile towards the other proxies. just keeps her head down and scoots away, not another word. then listen to toby now scold nina for stupidly walking through the forsest like that. "i told you to WAIT at the railroad, not get your ass killed looking for me"

toby would just take nina to hang out with clocky, like they originally planned, but nina could NOT get kate off her mind.

and the feeling is returned tenfold. kate hasnt seen a girl like nina in a long, long, LONG time - if ever, really. flashy, bubbly, makeup and glitter and lipstick and pink and purple and gold and jesus christ nina is an anomaly in a place like that.

it would haunt kate for weeks, until she ends up meeting nina again at the cabin and finally ushers out an apology (demanded by toby). and with nina's warmth and affection and forgiveness, kate goes back to the mines sick to her stomach wishing she could see nina again. just wants to look at her for a while. marvel at her.

mike walked inside after his first shift at freddy’s, slightly rattled by the dream he had.. but glad to be home to finally get some freaking sleep.

when the door opened, he was BLESSED by the sight of you. abbys babysitter. if he had maybe a drop of self respect or confidence he could ask you out, maybe even date. but lets be honest hes a complete wuss and his best excuse is “not wanting to ruin the thing they had now” which was an occasional awkward exchange of the same 5 phrases such as “hello, good morning, how are you? im ok. how are you? good, hows abby? good. good.” and then a super awkward silence. but in the recent days, when he still worked at the mall he and you actually had nice conversations that didnt feel forced. mike had hope yet.

“hey, y/n.” he said as he put his keys down, observing abby as she swung her feet in excitement from the table, watching you as you made her pancakes.

“hi mike !” you say, turning to him slightly and cracking a smile before you looked away to put the pancakes on a plate and pass them to abby. luckily you looked away when you did because your eye contact was enough to make mike look like a tomato. “i hope you dont mind i made pancakes, if you want some, theres a little more i was gonna put away !” you said, reaching for a plate. “im ok, thanks. and dont worry about it.” he said, sitting next to abby who was looking between him and you, plotting an evil, DEVIOUS, horrid plan with a grin comparable to the cheshire cat. mike gave abby a terrified look as he began regretting even MENTIONING the idea of you in a romantic way to abby. he began mouthing pleads of her to show an ounce of mercy but she already turned to you and began to open her mouth.

“are you busy this weekend?” abby said while making direct eye contact with mike and snarfing down pancakes.

“uhm.. i dont think so? my only plans from now and the unforeseeable future is watching you so if your asking to hang out chances are ill be with you already, weirdo.” you said, as you begin washing up the dishes used to cook.

“not for me, silly! for mike!" she says innocently, batting her eyes and grinning like a madman to me.

god, ive never been more terrified by a fucking 10 year old. trying to brush off the comment of a date to a child, you piece together a response.

"uhh, if im babysitting you.. and its a weekend.. mike would be there too..!" you said awkwardly, trying to just scrub a damn pan.

"but, what if i was at a friends house?" abby added

"then i wouldnt be there." you say.

"but mikes so lonely..! he has so friends-" abby begins, before mike puts his hand on her mouth.

"abby, stop being weird- what the hell!" he says before being interrupted by abby licking his freaking hand.

"thats so unhygienic, dont do that." he says as abby giggles evilly, and you begin to speak.

"well if mikes sooo lonely, he can.. i don't know... just maybe.. ask? if i wanna hang out? because id.. say yes?" you say, looking at mike.

he blessed the skies above that you were actually confronting and he didn't have to face the awkward rejection that haunted him.

the kitchen was finally quiet for a moment, until abby break the silence.

"would you.. wanna go out.. with me.?" mike said silently and awkwardly, cursing himself in his head for being so nervous when she literally confirmed she was down.

but yeah my quick two cents on heinkel specifically going comatose is that, like people have mentioned in those threads that stuff would happen differently. marcos doesnt rejoin the royal guard, reinhard probably doesnt get the dp of mind changing, wilhelm might die to the whale instead since heinkel isnt around to get sent on a suicide mission and wilhelm Would Not Back Down from that, etc etc. or did theresia get sent to kill the whale right away while wilhelm like in canon went to deal with the royal family?? that sort of thing.

i think ultimately we dont 100% know what would happen on the louanna side of things just because. we dont know anything about how she was as a person hah so hard to predict!! but i think things would probablyy turn out a little better given everything i just mentioned. and also the bar for how canon went is super low anyway aljsdfl. but yeah i mean louanna seems like she might cope a little better (i mean. shes Probablyy not the type to fall into alcoholism right haha). or she might Also Cope Badly, depending on how you wanna interpret this. and depending on how louanna turns out to be as a person. and Someone is still gonna die to the whale probably. so things are Not That Great and also heinkel being comatose means he wont be head of the house. louanna in this situation either way would need to take charge - both in the sense that uh, in the end it'll just be her and one of reinhard's grandparents left around, and also in the sense that she is reinhards only parent left now. and also reinhard Might get a bit more pressure to hurry into the royal guard sooner. he'll get compared to his comatose MIA dad im sure :(( esp since heinkel is. frozen in time.

theres Always something chilling about how in canon, long term sleeping beauty syndrome victims are just. Stuck. in time. forever frozen. never aging a single day from the moment they were gone. thats Haunting. thats like living with a ghost thats still there. and in this au itd be heinkel!! heinkel whos still at his prime and hasnt truly had a permanent failure yet (losing his mom to the whale, losing louanna to a coma, etc etc), and of course like canon heinkel, louannas left to pick up the pieces which is always really sad to me :(( she and heinkel were young too when all of this started to go wrong T^T like Still Adults, of course, but still young!! like shes 21 and hes 22 T^TT wild stuff.

Chapter 3

Snatcher didn't know how to feel. There in the dinning room was the monster that haunted his afterlife the horrific beast that had an unpredictable temper and often took her anger out on others... Looking at him like he was some kind of small cute animal. He had forgotten how tame she used to be when she wasn't upset. No wonder she loved him THEY WERE BOTH DORKS! she was just a significantly prettier dork. Wait,? What was he thinking? EW NO he hates this woman! Doesn't he? YES! Yes he does stay focused! "Good mooorning My Prince!" She spoke in a sing-song voice. Yup definitely a dork. Snatcher hoped giving her the silent treatment would work because if anyone was gonna notice his voice it was going to be her! "Oddly quiet today my love? Are you feeling sick?" She got up out her seat and tried to hug him resulting in Snatcher letting out a startled hiss. "dang it!" He hadn't been human in 1000's of years and hissing was one of those behaviors he picked up in that time. "Oh my! Are you upset today? What did I do?" She said shocked from the sudden reaction "you touched me without my consent what did you expect to happen?" He muttered under his breath. God breathing sucked! "What was that My Prince?" Oh boy he could sense it she was getting mad! "Nothing Vanessa" he replied in a snarky tone "oh? What happened to the name Princess?" "Nothing I just think Vanessa suits you better" "buts thats my real name I thought you agreed to only refer to me as princess!" Snatcher Grinned "I take it back" "YOU PROMISED!" A spike of ice shot up almost impaling poor Salem "uhm breakfast is ready-" good he didn't need to eat but he wanted to have an excuse to stop talking to Vanessa. His enthusiasm only got bigger when he saw what was on his plate. "Bacooooon-" he was not immune to bacon... And he never was. However over a millennia of consuming the souls of the innocent leads to some unpleasant visuals at the table... Snatcher bit into a piece of bacon as hard as he could and started ripping it apart with his teeth and claws. Salem proceeded to leave the room as Vanessa stared in pure horror. Just the way he liked it. "My Prince... WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???" "bacon" Snatcher responded with a smug look on his face. "MY PRINCE IM SERIOUS DO YOU NEED HELP??? IM GETTING HELP!" Uh oh! Uhh think of something! "Are you sure YOU don't need help?" Vannesa flintched. Nailed it. "Hehehe WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?" Snatcher made sure to put on his creepiest smile as the lights flickered out.

Huh so he did still have some of his powers. Vanessa looked like she was about to snap. "LISTEN HERE YOU-" she then realized she was talking to her "precious little Prince" and backed down. She finished her breakfast in angry silence as Snatchers smug grin only got bigger. In that very moment he used his past selves body to verbally harass his abusive ex and get away with it scar free. He was ecstatic so ecstatic that he decided to take a walk around the village and maybe try another jab at Vanessa when he gets back. Poke the sleeping bear and all that jazz. "Hey everyone look it's Prince!" A swarm of children proceeded to corner him but not just any annoying children the village children "can you play us a tune on your fancy violin?" "OO OOH! How about you tell us a story!" "Yeah tell us a story!" Ignoring the sinking feeling in his gut (ew) Snatcher tried to mimic his old self. He just couldn't be mean to the children. "Sorry little ones I'm not feeling so well and I forgot violin back at the manor but if you all run along I'll be back tomorrow!" (Eugh! "Hiii Ivy-" "dude that was the worst voice crack I've ever heard holy cow!" Oh yeah his voice used to crack when he was nervous. And apparently it still did curse this flesh vessel- "so how are you doing now that your back from that fancy law school!" "What" "your back from the academy? I thought it was obvious" she jokingly said. There was an intense moment of awkward silence. "OK IM GOING BACK TO THE MANOR NOW BYEE IVY-" he cringed as he heard his voice crack. There was no way forget annoying Vanessa he need to think about this. As he entered the manor he saw them. The flowers he had bought for Vanessa placed nicely in a pot. Hello I'm not dead just extremely busy and burnt out because we leave for our yearly convention on Thursday and guess who's making an entirely new hammer for Heisenberg

This is what I have as of last night and I need to finish the front piece in order to paint it tomorrow because we leave for the hotel on Thursday

This thing is fucking huge, about 4+ feet in length. It nearly comes up to my shoulder.

Real talk, I would have had it done about a month ago had everything not happened at once... My moms accident, plus the depression and fuckery at work, its been... bad. Really bad mentally. So I've been crunching making this thing, I hate looking at it because it makes me depressed but I'm almost done and its already so much better than my old one and ill post a comparison image when it's done but like.

I've been chipping away at this for about 3 fucking weeks, if not a straight month because of everything happening. I haven't been able to do art, barely been able to sleep because I've been staying up late to work on it (between 1-3am when I need to wake up between 7-8am), this thing has been haunting me and I despise it

But also my cosplay is gonna be so much better for it, I can hold it WITHOUT the handle threatening to snap because I used PVC pipe as the base instead of wooden dowles AND i can swing it around. So it begins during the sealed siblings ending of Hollowknight (aka, ghost failing to dreamnail hollow to go fight the radiance. Hornet gets knocked out and becomes the dreamer, ghost becomes the new hollow knight and Hollow dies)

Well as Hollow is dying and desperately trying to wake up Hornet (it doesnt work, the spell is already in effect, the only way to wake her now is the dreamnail her and wake her up, destroying her in the process) they look at little Ghost, now suspended by glowing chains

It wasnt supposed to end this way, Ghost was meant to defeat the Radiance and finally let the kingdom rest, not seal her away with no possible way of defeating her now

And Hollow cries, for the first time in their entire life they cry, cry for their sibling now forced to endure their same agonizing fate, cry for Hornet forever doomed to sleep, cry that they failed. They failed their siblings, their father, the kingdom of Hallownest, everyone.

As they lay dying, the void hears their cries.

And the void, agrees that this isn't fair, this wasnt supposed to happen.

So the void decides to allow its last living child another chance. A chance to prevent this and actually save the kingdom.

Hollow is swallowed up

The next time they awake they are back in the palace. Their body completely untouched by the infection. (Though they still feel all he pain and suffering that the infection brought like a phantom limb because we need some pain for hurt/comfort purposes) they are the pure vessel once more

And the void heart is now sitting in the center of their chest. The void now united under their own will

A will that at this current time they were still denying they ever had.

Not only that but their own shade is now stronger, faster, growing restless in their shell

As they try to make sense of this sudden new development they realize WHEN they were.

They were somehow, through the power of the void, sent back to a living hallownest, one month before they were to be sealed away.

All their memories of their sealing are fully intact. They remembering suffering so much, crying and begging someone ANYONE to put them out of their misery. They remember watching hallownest fall through the infected. They remember failing their siblings

Now they have a chance to prevent all that, to save Hallownest (and become the new Lord of Shades, whether they want to or not thats gonna happen)

Only problem is that they still have to pretend to be the Pure Vessel, unthinking, unfeeling just an empty tomb for the Radiance. Which is a hundred times harder now because they have suffered for so long and even though their body is physically unharmed the pain still haunts them.

Now some fun ideas I have!

Hollow straight up kidnaps baby Hornet to try and keep her safe (its not gonna go well for anyone involved)

"Nope. i stand by my decision, i ain't going in'' Lo'ak started laughing at him, "fine then i'll go by myself" he said as he slowly walked in the house, "yea no i'm not gonna stay hour here all alone, i'll come with you!" Aonung screamed as he followed him. 

Before the boys could even open the door, it flew open because of the wind, and started cracking. They jumped away and aonung let out a scream "AHHH-" Lo’ak started laughing at him, "you scream like a little girl. Do you miss your mommy and daddy?" he said with a sad look on his face. "Just shut up and go in already" aonung said as he pushed lo’ak in the house. 

The windows were broken. There's not even one source of light. Insects everywhere. It wasn't really your typical dreamhouse. 

"Can we get outta here? It's like I'm walking on the North Pole" aonung said as he rubbed his body with his arms. "Nahh let's just look around a little" they started walking around in the house, but what Lo'ak didn't notice was the spider crawling up on his pants towards his arms. 

And then. It bit him

"OH FUCK WHATS THAT!" he screamed as he started wiggling his arms to get the spider off. "Bro calm down what happened" aonung said as he turned to him, "SOME SPIDER BIT ME. AND IT WAS BLUE AND RED, THAT DOESNT EXIST AONUNG." 

"Okay? Well if it doesn't exist, then it's not there" he said in a bitchy voice. 

"Aonung this isn't fucking funny. My body bro, I'm starting to feel his venom course through my entire body" he said as he started shaking his arms and legs even more.

"I just wanted to bond with him, so that we could start to be friends. And I didn't text you because it was 1.30am, and I didn't wanna bother you" bother me? Why would he think he would bother me if he asks me if he wants to hang out? Does he really know me that bad. 

"Get out of my room Lo'ak." Tears started flowing down my eyes, and it almost looked liked the same thing was happening with him, "baby please let's talk about this." 

"No. No. Get out." I said as I pointed at the door. He looked to the ground with tears falling down his cheeks, and walked out of my room.
