i know i just said it but !!! so far i. dont know??????? like i have a lot of Hms about the way he raised dave especially about how he. apparently frequently beats his ass BUT!!!! to say that he doesnt love dave would be a lie i think because he did raise him at the end of the day, and he also protected him from the meteor and i just KNOW this guy has the Older Brother instincts. you cannot see a cute baby and decide to call yourself his Brother and not have the Older Brother instincts. and theres another thing!!! hes dave's bro, not dave's dad, so i think it would be fair to assume that hes the youngest guardian??? he must have been 20 when he found dave and i get that raising a kid when youre fundamentally a kid yourself isnt easy.

but like i cant Ignore how the way he brought up dave has given him a lot of issues and trouble expressing his emotions ((similarly to rose, i think mom lalonde and bro are very similar in that they care for their kids but they were literally thurst into their hands out of the blue, and they had some Issues they needed to sort out first to be a Good Parent; more obvious with mom and her alcoholism i think but bro has this too)). then again we dont know how bro was raised ((or at least i dont know yet, if they ever tell us)) and maybe he genuinely thinks hes doing whats best for dave. i dont want to get in too deep about how i also think that the fact that theyre both men might have a play in this too ((perpetuating toxic masculinity; also in a way similar to how roses relationship with her mother appears to me very influenced by the fact that theyre Mother & Daughter specifically)) but uh its a point to consider imo.

i just. i truly believe that like every other guardian he loves his baby brother. i also believe that hes never been taught how to properly express emotion, that hes basically a teenager when he finds dave, that he doesnt know what hes doing but he cant let it show because hes Too Cool for that, that hes been told that Men Are Tough and thats what he tries to teach dave albeit in an enterely wrong way ((i mean the idea itself is wrong but you get it)). basically i think he can be very interesting from what i know about him so far!! ill probably update this later on because theres no way were done with him or with any other beta guardian for that matter. but also i can understand perfectly why people wouldnt like him because he did basically abuse dave so.

ranking naruto characters by how good they would drive if they knew what cars were:

sakura: 4/10. technically she does have a liscence but god knows how she got it on account of the sheer amount of traffic violations she racks up every time she gets in a car. drives a honda civic and brags about it even though its literally not that fancy. exclusively plays true crime podcasts while driving but blasts them like at hard rock volume. thinks turn signals are a mark of the devil and that all speed limits are marked by at least 15 under the real limit. you will get to your destination on time. but at what cost.

sasuke: -5/10 the man cannot drive. he gets negative points because hes a terrible influence in the passengers seat. the main people he steals rides from are naruto and sakura and they are ultra-possesive of the aux cord so he doesnt get it often but when he does he WILL be playing the minecraft soundtrack. tells people to hit old ladies crossing the street for "extra points." doesnt mean it.

naruto: 2/10 weirdly cautious but it might be warented because he is awful. drives five under the speed limit at all times but not on purpose he nust doesnt know how to read a speedometer. if sasuke is in the car with him they WILL get pulled over because naruto got so distracted he almost hit a tree. plays country music and drives a slugbug

kakashi: 8/10 drives a mustang and is so so anxious every time he gives anyone a ride because he doesnt wanna be responsible for killing them. no one is allowed to play music when he is driving because it scares him. when hes alone he drives like a madman because he has no regard for his own life <3

obito: 1/10 drives like hes actively being pursued by the police. thinks he is good enough to drift. he is not. his trashy little nash rambler has been on its last legs for 4 years and its a miracle it hasnt given up completely because he slams it into fire hydrants at least once a week. plays taylor swift exlusively. any attempts to change this will end with you kicked out of his car. which might be for the best.

rin: -6/10 cant drive and actively makes a game of giving bad directions to the driver. she thinks its fun. tells people to hit old ladies crossing the street for extra point and means it. if given the aux she will play "10 hours of silence occationally broken by falling medal pipe" because that is uniroincally her favorite song.

tsunade: 5/10 refurbishing a old mozda named tangerine. shes gotten weirdly attatched to it and keeps humanizing it to an uncomfortable degree. uses her knowledge of the human body to draw comparisons between rumaging atound in the car guts and actual surgeries she has preformed before. also she doesnt use turn signals.

orochimaru: 10/10 cant drive but instead of hounding people for rides he takes the bus. literally the most normal about transportation out of everyone on this list so he gets full points.

hiruzen: 3/10 drives an electric car because he feels bad about his carbon footprint even though hes not actually making that much of a difference :/ has hit bikers on multiple occations

danzo: 7/10. hes actually a pretty good driver but i have to take away points on account of the fat that he uses his white windowless van to kidnap children and transport assassins to kill his rival politicians.

minato:-700/10 drives a cybertruck

kushina: 2/10 cant drive but at least shes a decent passenger. will deliver devistating insults for the drivers honor and also shoot at any cars that deserve it (she carries around a pistol). only okay at helping with directions but thats fine because at least shes not actively working against the driver.

Hi! So I have a few things I wanted to say/ask so hopefully this isn't too long or out of place or anything

Okay so first off, you always reblog and say such nice things about my art in the tags and I wanted to say I appreciate it so much, I never know what to say but like you're the backbone of the hikakao community so it feels like a seal of approval in a way haha. And your art is so amazing like, damn! I love it sm. Kaoru has been my fav character for nearly a decade so I love seeing that its not just me he has a grip on, and as an autistic person myself who loves princesses’ and specifically Cinderella… well your hc means a lot to me haha. Oh and your hanahaki fic??? I ugly cried. SO damn good like the characterizations… one of the best Hikakao fics I've read on god

So I kinda wanted to ask two things, first being if you had to choose for the other hosts to have a fav princess who would it be? Im personally very partial to Tamaki loving Belle, given the like french beauty and romanticism of it all, plus her giving herself up for the safety of a parent connection. I like the idea of him being kinda dumb and taking it as you need natural inner AND outer beauty, which he oh so obviously has in spades and that kind of nonsense. Idk I was just curious if you'd have an opinion on this as ive been giving it some thought lately. Especially on Hikaru, I think he would like a more down to earth princess that doesn't have too much frills or singing in the film, like Merida because it's the most adventurous one without character songs if you're just going off disney. Second was if you had any thoughts or analysis of how the maid the twins had when they were young impacted them and their development? And more importantly how it impacted them each differently? Would they of been less warped? I think they'd just meet someone else who they liked who couldn't tell them apart, who'd just say the same thing in a different way. THIS IS SO FUCKING SWEET YES!!! I WAS DRAWING HIKAKAO RIGHT AS YOU SENT THIS ASK TOO BTW.... i was htinking like, should i post this... theres kissing..... but then i remember why it's so rewarding to do what I love <3 really and truly. I've met SO many incredibly kind, creative, and thoughtful people through hikakao it's insane. And tbh it makes me want to never stop posting about them even if it nets me hate every now and again LMAO it's just, stuff like this is irreplaceable to me. And I LOVE your art!!!!!! It's SO cute... the picture of Kaoru dressed as cinderella made me legit scream. I sent it to all my friends and showed it to my brother haha. The whole Kaoru/Cinderella headcanon is very personal to me as you can probably gather from my carriage posting. so whenever I see it I go nuts (in a good way. it not destructive).

I think it's very funny (in a good way) that you already had a special interest in princesses, esp Cinderella. For me, it's like...I can NOT look at anything Cinderella related normally anymore because I'm reminded of the carriage allegory, and yet we have Cinderella movie nights every thursday now because of me...I describe my relationship with Cinderella as "stockholm syndrome" because i legit didn't care about or really even know Cinderella before all this went down, but now she is my Worst Enemy but Best Friend and if anybody says Cinderella is mid I'm blowing up another hostage.

Okay, onto the questions...firstly, YES, Tamaki DOES seem like the type to love Belle. He may also enjoy Rapunzel and her whole being held captive her whole life because maybe he feels the same way with his own family situation. Haruhi strikes me as a little mermaid type, no real reason, I just get that vibe. Although Kyoya probably relates to the original fairytale of the little mermaid in some ways for sure. I actually HC Mori's favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast, so he's probably also really into Belle. As for Hani, I'm not sure...Giselle, maybe. He likes her whimsy.

Hikaru is interesting, because I feel like he's like Me in which he HATES Cinderella because he has to hear about it 24/7 but if ANYBODY said anything mean about cinderella he'd be like...you bitch...you take that BACK. Altho I have this headcanon that Hikaru's favorite princess is Alice from Alice in Wonderland (tho she really isn't a "princess") because he always liked that movie better. Kaoru would cry as a kid tho when Hikaru said he thought that movie was better so he pretended to like Cinderella more. But he doesn't. Merida tho...that's a very good choice, I can defff seeing Hikaru being a big Merida fan.

So, to the second question: it's very interesting! What stood out about that maid to Hikaru and Kaoru was the fact she was mean to them. being raised as rich and "better" than everyone else, all the maids HAD to be nice or they got fired pretty much, so to see a maid go against that status quo, to treat them honestly...that's why they liked her so much.

If anyone else had said "nobody will be able to tell you two apart", would it have hurt? sure. But it wouldn't be devastating, because they likely wouldn't care about that person's opinion. but they liked this maid, they looked up to her in a weird way. Having somebody you like and trust tell you something hurtful is way more harmful than if a stranger did it.

Now...would they be LESS twisted if it never happened? I doubt it. I mean, maybe they'd be LESS focused on looking identical, but they would still be rather cruel and mischievous, because that's how they were simply raised: they were raised being taught their actions have no consequences, because they're better than everyone else. Simple by being "Hitachiins", they had a pass to do all sorts of nasty shit to people because they were rich and powerful. Besides, canonically, their mom & dad were barely in their lives, and child neglect causes the children to act out to get attention, usually via things that would get them scolded. So, while they miiight not have been AS keen on matching had that maid never said what she did before leaving them forever, they would probably be just as mean and cruel.

To le third point: YES that is so good. Kaoru very much dissociates in my heart of hearts as well. He has days on end where he doesn't feel like he's in his own body, everything's sort of a blur, he can't remember things well...Hikaru's there for him in those moments at least.

I always saw Hikaru and Kaoru as ADHD/Autism solidarity. But bipolar is an interesting one, too. I could def see it.

Also the hairdryer thing FUCKING RELATABLE...I'd think Kaoru is "afraid" of hairdryers/thunder - just really fucking loud noises that are sudden and/or unceasing. They don't make him "cower" necessarily but like, he gets super jittery/irritated because he gets overwhelming anxiety from it. Hikaru as a kid probably didn't understand why his brother acted so strangely to certain sights/sounds/touches, and maybe at first teased him about it, but when it was clear these things actually DISTRESSED Kaoru he stopped and did everything he could to make him feel better. and if anybody makes fun of kaoru for it Hikaru beats the shit out of them.

like when i get into an ao3 tag i got a full blown system like first i do my favorite character depending on the size of the archive ill either filter it to just angst or the specfic type then read thru back to front once being selective then twice with lower standards and then a third time with desperation. then once ive done that i take off the angst tag and just leave all my exclude this filters on and just do the above with their entire archive. after that i do the same with the relationship i have identified as my favorite

I feel like there's been this weird, obnoxious notion in high media critique, when suddenly conveying strong emotionality and sentiment is seen as "cheap" and "unintelligent" for some reason - emotional music is now considered cheap, fierce and "exaggerated" acting is considered overdone, etc. as if quality media and storytelling is always supposed to be repressed, always subtle and always inferred through subtext. And I honestly find it bafflingly heartless - what's the art of storytelling without emotion, without moving the consumer of the narrative? the emotionless idea of "quality media" nowadays is nothing without evoking emotion and thought.

where does this idea that dazai regrets his past come from. like i dont recall a single instance of him showing guilt or remorse for being in the mafia and especially not for all the damage hes done to akutagawa or chuuya. and maybe thats why i hate him so much. because he just he doesnt care. hes always praised for changing so much from when he was in the mafia or having character development and yeah, sure he does change but he never seems remorseful for what he did to chuuya and ESPECIALLY akutagawa. he still ignores akutagawa unless he wants to use him like a tool while propping up atsushi as his prodigy and hes still just. the same with chuuya. he never attempts to make it up to either of them.

its just a pain in the ass especially when characters like ango have tried so hard to make it up to dazai for something he didnt even do only to still be used as a tool by dazai.

and thats because dazai doesnt care. he doesnt see people as people, but rather tools to get what he wants. see: every interaction he has with a woman ever.

it can also be seen in the way he operates. luring a deadly ability user to yokohama just so akutagawa and atsushi will form the new generation of double black, something neither of them really seem that into. especially akutagawa.

we can even see it in his interactions with fyodor, playing chess with real people.

and i think thats also why i hate so many dazai ships, because none of them would realistically work. he sees himself as so above everyone and acts as if everyone is his pawn. the only real exceptions to this are fyodor, someone equally as powerful as him and oda, one of the only people hes ever cared about.

i really hope theres a good explanation for his actions and that he can truly get help and make amends with the others. i'll finally be able to enjoy him that way

This is a small theory I made last week about Yuki and his last days. Please do bear in mind that this is my own analysis of what happened and possible reasons as to why. Other characters mentioned will also be tagged btw.

Let's start from the pretense that Yuki called Mafuyu or sent a message before doing what he did, which is why Mafuyu found him.

Here’s the full picture: the boy was drunk(according to Hiiragi), he had cried (as evidenced by the tissue box under the table) and was probably composing something since his guitar was on the ground, or tried to.

Because of what Hiiragi said here, I’m assuming that he hadn't seen his mother, friends and bf for a while, and was probably just thinking about what happened between him and Mafuyu.

If he really had a mask that hides his feelings to keep Mafuyu and the others unconcerned about him, then it means that he had bottled up everything for a while now. He used to express himself a lot in music, in his own songs and stuff. But this time, he was angry/sad at music because that was the reason for the fight. Something he used to express himself and open up, had now probably ruined the most important thing for him: his relationship with Mafuyu.

The emotional weight of the fight, along with the alcohol, led him to do what he did. He didn't even speak to his mother, or if he did, at least Saeko didn't reveal it to anyone and seemed surprised to receive the order of cup noodles that was for her son. Or maybe, if he contacted her, acted as if nothing had happened not to bother her with his stuff.

In the last few days nobody saw him(based on what Hiiragi said), so assuming he was alone for that time, he may have been brooding over the fight. His intention to call/send a message may not be to ‘‘put the weight of his death on his ex for what was said in the fight’’, but just to ensure that someone would find him. Or he didn't think he would be able to put the mask back on if he found Mafuyu and would be rejected. Alcohol is a bitch, and can make everything worse, too. 

The way I see it, if he even called Mafuyu or texted him, it wasn’t his intention to put this weight on Mafuyu. He was too out of it to think of something ‘‘complex’’ like this.

And if by any chance they had made amends in that day, it is likely that the end would have been the same. Because, you see, keeping a happy mask isn’t easy- you do this so others will think you’re ok and you can take care of those around you, but it will take a huge toll in your mental health. Someday, even if you have a reason to keep going, it might not be enough. Then one slip, and if those around you aren’t careful, you end up thinking about ending everything.

And in that day/for a while before, Yuki probably thought he had no one. He was broken, couldn’t be fixed, so to not bother anyone, he just.

Yes! Soooo many years ago when 03 was airing on tv. My first reaction was, “Why does that robot sound like a little kid?”

I don’t really do analysis. Is it a passing grade if I just say “my analysis is that Greed is hot”?

5. Tell us about a project you have going on! Or if you don’t have one, maybe something you’ve always wanted to write or draw?

I’ve always wanted to make a lyric video of Greed to Disturbs song Avarice. I promise i’ll do it one day when I get motivation lol

6. Favorite opening/ending number and why?

My favorite opening is fmab 3rd one Golden Time Lover! I find it SUPER catchy plus the scenes used in that op are so amazing!!! Just go watch it and pay attention to the transitions between characters and camera angles. I can’t praise it enough.

My favorite ending is actually fma 03’s first ending!! It gives me such a rush of nostalgia, also the song itself is great. And the art style is beautiful, i adore the use of solid black for shading. Plus the little hand to hand combat scene with Ed and Al. It also has little still images from parts from the story. Its beautiful, i love it so much. Also I think endings in general don’t get enough love so go watch them all if you haven’t!

7. Tell me about a scene that really touched you or made you realize something about yourself.

Gosh… I’ve actually been asked the question a lot and I try not to use the same scene but I CAN’T HELP IT!!

The scene when Ed and Al go home to Winry. Idc how many times I’ve watch fmab, I will always cry from that scene. As soon as I hear the music in that scene and see Winry slowly walking to the door I start to tear up. Then when she hUGS THEM I JUST- I get chills just thinking about it. That entire journey trying to get their bodies back and they finally did it, and they get to go home and- Ed’s promise about the tears of joy i just- I CAN’T 8. OTPs! Who are they? Why are you WEAK FOR THEM??

This might be a shock but… My OTP is GreedxLing. I know right, me? Who would’ve thought.

But yeah I ship this ship so hard is makes me sick. I adore shipping them romantically like I LOVE YOU kinda stuff but honestly I am so thirsty I will take anything. There isn’t enough content for that ship and it DEPRESSES ME. Also I hardly ever see art of First Greed and Ling. :/ it’s always Ling and Greedling. Even tho thats literally still LING. I mean I’ll take it but whatever LOL

I also love Edling but that’s always on my blog so no surprise there either. Aside from those two ships I don’t actively search for any other fma ship anymore. I used to hardcore ship KimbleexMiles (even tho it’s totally wrong ik) but ran outta content and fell into a pit of despair. Rip me 9. Funniest headcanon you’ve ever seen. Go!

UMMM… Greed being a super dorky bookworm if his avarice extended to wanting to KNOW everything too. And him just schooling everyone all the time, or just saying random facts out of nowhere.

10. What spurred you to join the fandom?

My sister wanted me to rewatch fmab with her since I hadn’t watched it in a long time. I fell in love with Greed and slowly started devoting my tumblr to him till I became a part of the fandom lol I was actually an Osomatsu-san blog before this. I someone managed to smoothly transition to fma tho

11. Definitely the same question… have a fandom meltdown here and tell me why you love your fandom or show/comic so much!

Fma is probably the most well crafted, interesting, and heartwarming series ever created. I mean there is no pointless filler episodes, everything happens for a reason. And every character serves a purpose while still being able to stand out among the huge cast of characters.

Basically it’s a work of art that makes you care for the characters and stay interested in the plot from day 1. Also, out of all the fandoms I’ve ever been apart of, fma has the nicest, warmest community of people. I’m so glad to be a part of it and to have been able to meet and talk to so many of yall.
