yeah, i know what you mean. i can somewhat relate to this problem myself, ever since i was in my first… i guess community would be a good word for it in this sense… but ever since i was in my first community, i have always wanted to contribute to the community and media at hand. it happened with deltarune, it REALLY happened with undertale (every time i get a comment on that one video i nearly shit myself) and now it’s happening again with rain world. if im being real, i may not be the best person to ask about it, since i basically grew in popularity across the internet overall by dumb luck.

but regardless, ill put in my two cents anyways: just keep at it, whatever you’re doing. even if you think youre bad at it, keep going. even if you think you’re not gonna add any more worth to the wider community by making your impact, do it anyways. you’ll thank yourself later on.

you see this? this was my first piece of digital art EVER. of course, looking back at this piece of art from late 2018, i think this art piece sucks ten ounces of cottage cheese and italian driftwood. and im assuming thats the feeling you’re going through right now.

but here’s the thing: i kept at it. i kept trying and trying more and more until i eventually made this like three days later

still not great. but i didnt improve overnight. like i said earlier, you gotta keep at the stuff you love regardless of how you feel about it skill-wise. you’re gonna be thanking yourself later on for nourishing that branch on the tree.

and trust me, keeping at it is worth it. these two images aren’t insignificant, i repeat them every year or two since these first two. my latest one was this one:

the point im trying to make with all this stuff in the end i guess is just that even if you dont feel fantastic about what you make, you should still keep trying. youre not gonna improve overnight, but if you set yourself a goal to get a little bit more detailed, or a little bit more elaborate with what you make each time you make something, your improvement will be noticeable. and dont just do it for any random community out there! do it for YOU!!!! if you have problems with working for yourself as much as you work for others, imagine taking an order from yourself that says do whatever you want! because you can!!!

TL;DR: dont do what you do for just anyone, do it for you. and keep doing it, no matter how little you think of it. you will thank yourself.

thought id start just talking on here more bc i want to really. i have another blog where i just write whatever and ive been able to gather themes and ideas. but here i want to just talk about my thoughts on stuff, art, music, identity, etc. i've always been a big typer, not a talker really and you can see from my online presence lol.

probably whats on my mind right now is just getting back in to music. surprisingly its only been a year and I felt i took too long and just really decided to give it up. i felt i got more from paintings i guess. and tbh i'm scared. i don't like doing shows. but i know its necessary to get my stuff out there.

because i'm not just making music again, i'm trying to like. make it. and i wouldnt decide to do this if i didnt feel like what i did was worth doing all that effort for. and its taken me a while to trust myself that i make good stuff.

i'll probably still paint, but my focus is really on just getting my music out there and fuck it i'll only post about it here and maybe laugh about it one day, but honestly I just want to open for animal collective one day. it would be great to make enough money from it to live off from, or just have a lot of people like what i do. but tbh i just want the people that made me get in to in the first place approve of it.

maybe thats bad, and i should just make music and hope for the best. but idk i kinda don't care about what anyone thinks about my music except for them and daniel johnston but hes dead.

Tbh im not sure where it started but to me its a mix of her ties to dionysus being expression and emotions and me just projecting onto her. her powers are focused on influencing others and manipulating things rather than just nature or art so shes like. full of chaos. not even in a silly personality trait way its literally just built into her. thats what her powers are. chaos and change. thats what she embodies. [which contrasts angels motif of calmness and cowardice and brings a cool balance to their relationship]

so obviously that and having bipolar disorder can make things messy sometimes and she struggles with truly being happy with her friendships. which is bad on its own but these also make her really cling to predictability and the idea of being in control (most obvious ex. is taking the role of leader during the quest for herself and planning out everything they do) which like. is related to the uncertainty she feels towards herself and her future cuz shes like getting closer to being an adult [and also the age lots of demigods dont make it very far past but she hasnt had to worry much about that until now] but really isnt ready to do that nor does she have any real passion for any job or thing related to it. shes just focused on finishing highschool and then she’ll have to worry about that. which she hated cuz yk. Mentioned stuff.

so basically its lots of Wow this is a lot of emotions about stuff with me in it. But who am i even. What is my purpose what am i supposed to do. Why is the world like this i dont want to do adult things. I dont even know what those adult things are or how they work.

i wanna say there were some v small thoughts about this pre-demigod stuff happening [mostly just about if people like her or not or how tf to make friends rather than everything else] and it just like got 10x worse once they did start cuz it like ruined what good she had goin. duh

and going with the linked post where i apologize to gabby she also has the dumbest smart person in the room problem where yes she Is very smart and good at problem solving and fighting but she also feels like shes not very useful or impressive when in certain groups [like how angel and jade have more knowledge about greek myths and nature than her] so its like. Hm is she really all that if she can only shine when surrounded by people less competent than she. also the guilt mentioned in said post is like related to this too cuz she wants to look cool and be inteligent and awesome yet also could come off as stuck up or a showoff or something cuz of how much she wants to be looked up to by others and be complimented

i think the last thing i have to say about it is how she does a lot of avoiding like. as a coping thing. like 2 examples i have so far for p1 would be the whole forced quest thing as an excuse to leave camp and not deal with violet or jack or anyone else who could bring up the fight and then the breakdown talk with angel (though its less avoiding and more finally snapping from all the pushing away) … and like maybe the bedrotting on their first summer there could count since she didnt wanna go out and see her dad or engage in any camp things but idk. maybe the thing w her stepdad too

for silly edits usually just picsart, but procreate for the more intense ones. gifs i use a yt downloader site, then capcut to edit, then ezgif. videos either splice or capcut. glitters i made a tutorial here, but like, my method is really complicated since i’m always on my phone, so there’s probably an easier way if you have a pc…

ok hi, when i made this submission i was def just doing it on impulse and not well articulated but let me be clear about something: i am not mat at MV themselves. their art is good i like it a lot, i even have quite a few of their skins bc theyre pretty and have a cool niche. that said i do appreciate u guys in the comments telling me to shut up bc youre right tbh (/gen), i was just really annoyed when i saw them winning yet again and i'll try to explain

1. as for "tearing them down", i really didnt mean it to come across that way since theres no denying that MV is good at what they do and they have a nice art style on their skins. my annoyance was mainly directed at the staff and not MV themselves, so im sorry that it came off that way

2. ik im probably very much in the minority here but the issue i have with them winning so many times in a row is that it is blatant favouritism on the staffs end, and its not MV's fault obviously.

personally i dont enter skin contests since i dont really do art on/for FR and idk if i would feel differently about it if they didnt win fests in a row, like if there was 1 fest or 2 in between wins? like i said their art is good and i like it so im happy to be able to get nice skins for free, but i dont really see the fun of having a community skin contest if you already know that one of the winners slots is going to someone in particular. its probably a non-issue for a lot of people ("wow, two cakes!" kinda energy) but it just rubs me the wrong way. kind of like some of the surprise/excitement is taken away because you know that since they submitted their skin and their art is good, theyre going to have a winner slot no matter what anyone else posts

oh yeah i saw the mario movie last night. i dont have much to say about it? it was fine. it wasnt bad, i didnt expect it to be bad. just alright, and it was. all i cared about was jack black bowser tbh. and ya know what- even that was alright. i love jack black, he played bowser well, but i didnt really find any of the characterization of bowser, or anyone for that matter, to be all that good. (esp peach).

but actually you know what i DO have to talk about??? trailers. specifically Illuminations trailer for Migration. okay, holy shit. okay.

i randomly saw the teaser quite a while back on a twitter ad, was like "huh, why havent i seen any promos for this one?" took a look back then and was like... ok interested because this seems very different from Illuminations usual thing, but there is NOTHING to go off in this teaser. ducks migrating? they have troubles? is that it? it was just the less than a minute teaser.

so in the theater last night this trailer starts up and opens with a clips of the fist Despicable Me and im thinking oh is it another of those? is it some kinda rerelease in theater? then the video goes on to say "coming from the creators of" [lists of EVERY movie of theirs including Pets, Minions, Mario, Grinch etc] and im like ok wow this sure is a LOT of build up.

and THEN..... its the Migration "trailer" aka the short teaser. You can actually see just what I'm describing here. what the hell kind of set up is that. do they not like this movie? it almost feels like they know its different. and that no one is going to care unless they remind everyone what else they made. theyre going to fall into the typical "hm we made a movie thats weird and not our usual. lets NOT promote it and make it flop". im intrigued because it is different. i want to see this because it looks unlike their normal stuff. why the hell do corps do this thing where they take the Weird and do nothing to help it? id love a silly animated movie about ducks migrating. the art in the trailer looks really nice. but im just waiting for this movie to flop and never be heard of again.

while I dont agree with your take on banshees ( I enjoyed it and I felt colin delivered a really good perfomance and I found his performance to be much stronger than austin tbh) I can actually see why someone may not like it, its structured like an irish fable and its comedy is very bleek, mundane and absurdist which is not something someone might be looking for in a comedy. I can see how that comedic style may not connect with everyone as opposed to the romanitic comedy or a buddy comedy. My sister had a similar opinion where she couldnt connect with the film and lost interest in it real quick.

But to that one anon, its unfair to expect everyone to understand the allegory of irish civil war, if the viewer couldnt see the connections then it may be because the film didnt truly contextualize the setting or the histories of the characters or maybe the viewer just wasnt invested in the film.

Also art in general has multiple meanings, the allegory to civil war is one of many themes the film presents.

I agree women king should have been there but dont hate me but Im taking out elvis.

I definitely felt like Colin's acting was strong in this film. The entire cast was great imo. Very believable. 😊👍🏾 I've just seen Colin in other films where I felt like his acting was more noteworthy. There wasn't really anything that really stood out to me that made me say that his acting was much BETTER than Brendan's or Austin's. I'm sorry. 🤷🏾‍♀️ That's just my opinion.

In all honesty, I actually think that Austin probably had the hardest job out of all the other nominees. I venture to guess he probably worked the hardest as well. He and Baz poured their blood, sweat and tears into that film...a prep and filming that took all in all about 2 and a half years in the making...

Having to not only act, but also sing, play piano, play guitar, work with a vocal coach who not only had to train him on speaking with a southern drawl, but also how to SPEAK like Elvis spoke, SING like Elvis sang, MOVE like Elvis moved, have the same mannerisms that Elvis had, etc... and this is someone who's larger than life that everyone knew/knows, so the pressure to nail it must have been immense!

Add on top of that, thanks to covid, they could no longer film the movie in chronological order, so one day, Austin had to be 1968 Elvis, and the very next day be Elvis from the 50s.... including having to tweak his singing AND speaking voice for those various decades because Elvis' voice changed over the years. 🥴 I mean, to make sure you don't get confused with all of that... That in itself is amazing.

Austin's acting may not have been Shakespeare lol, but imo he did a very excellent job, and really stood out (even above Tom Hanks) in the role, and that's very hard to do since Tom is a GOAT. They have some very TENSE scenes together in the film which I think Austin did beautifully imo. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Colin's acting was good too (don't get wrong), but imo just about anyone could have been in the role and it would have been the same. Nothing really stood out to me. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Imo, Brendan's acting in "The Whale" is the best, with Austin being a close second based on the top 3 contenders that I've seen so far of nominated "Best Actors".

I haven't seen EEAAO yet, so my mind might change after that. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I mean, the way "Woman King" has just been completely IGNORED by the Academy, when this is usually the type of movie based on historical elements that they typically seem to like.... is just very very interesting to me. 😒

I looked through the list of Best Picture again and I tried to find a "weakest link" lol, but I honestly can't find one tbh. Of all the films I've seen, I think they ALL have smthg great about them.

I personally wouldn't take out "Elvis" because to me it was probably one of Baz Luhrmann's Best films (jmho lol), and the film itself said a lot about a time in US history, fighting for civil rights, amongst an artist and singer blended into the very fabric of American living, and how the music really touched different aspects of people's lives. Not to mention, the fact that Elvis wouldn't be anywhere without black music, which I felt the film tried to highlight beautifully.

It was hard to cram 30 years of someone's life into a 2.5 hour movie, but I felt like Baz did the best he could do!

Honestly? You're probably going to hate me lol, but if I had to take out one film I've seen so far and put "Woman King" in for BP nomination, I would actually take out "The Banshees of Inisherin" 👀 I'm sorry!! 🙈😅😅

It has been “Totally Fine” by PUP since it came out several months ago and nothing has unseated it yet- it’s just too good! That said, I was really rocking out to “Where Eagles Dare” by the Misfits earlier today so I’ll give that a little shout out.

- I work at a bank and its not very exciting.

- I keep a bullet journal and decorate it with a creative theme every month, and I’m pretty proud of it tbh. (If anyone is interested in some of my art, let me know, I’ve never really shared it on here)

- I was officially diagnosed with OCD in March this year and it has changed my life so much for the better. Medication and therapy work wonders, turns out.

hello, i'm a new bts fan, what did rm and j-hope say about their albums? i've been listening to both of them for months, they're so good, rm's lyricism is unparalleled and j-hope imo made songs that no other idol is in conversation with! ps. i come from western alternative/indie music and as much as i like bts, i wouldn't call myself an... army... bc i feel like my relationship with their music is too personal and special to me for that. is that weird?

hiiiii my love ! i remember namjoon talking about it during the indigo release live i think. he mentioned he was worried about the album, but especially about wildflower and about putting it as a title track because its a 4 minute song so its not necessarily whats "trendy" or "chart friendly" right now. which granted he said so in a very nonchalant way and was overall like "yeah its not chart friendly but wtv!" which is nice <3 as for hoseok though i think it was in a live where he talked about how armys didnt really seem to connect with jitb like he had hopped and wondering if that meant he should stick to the bubblier hope world style people seem to expect of him now....which is so heartbreaking that they even had these thoughts honestly like its YOUR art its yours its not anyone elses. they both made their albums so personal which is risky when theyre almost expected to just make silly fun chartable safe pop music now. it just makes me so sad especially hoseok really i wish he wouldnt think that :((

as for calling yourself an army GOD felt! i do tend to call myself army esp on here bcs ppl might call you pretentious otherwise. and because i really do love bts but i do also feel like my appreciation for them is not necessarily influenced by the fandom. im not really as up to date on what they do as maybe most fans but that doesnt negate that bts are really important to me for really personal reasons and i dont think i would be more of a fan if i felt more connected to the fandom. i think a lot of people get really defensive over the army title and whenever someone expresses their "fanhood" a little differently or who doesnt necessarily consider themselves a part of the fandom which is super weird and reactionary but thats par for the course with armys tbh. so i dont think its weird at all! i highly encourage you to make enjoying bangtan as personal to you as you want it to be, really no one should have a say on how you see yourself as a fan and why except for you!

i saw you reblog gokushufudou (way of the househusband) related stuff and if you like what you see: tamaki portrayed tatsu in the live action :) im usually not a fan of live action adaptations but they did a good job with that one imo (but it was also the first dorama i ever watched so i didnt have high expectations). theres some fan translations online, i dont think it was ever officially translated into english as far as im aware.

on another note... have you already seen some characters from rgg titles you havent played yet? did anyone catch your eye?? what do you think of them. what are your first impressions. bombard me with opinions if you want, i know i wont be disappointed >:)

Tbh I haven't taken notice to a lot of RGG games outside of Judgement and Yakuza!! I've thought about looking into that when I DO finally get around to finishing the Yakuza series though!! I got into both Yakuza and Judgement through my boyfriend and I don't think he's especially aware of other RGG games either, and I'm only adverse to looking at any of them now bc I still REALLY,,,,Need to finish Yakuza for the sake of my mutuals who've played all the games and don't wanna spoil it for me LMAO

i wanted to include ghetsis in my speculations bc i feel like he had a hand in whatever issue the king was having and probably pushed the rift between nobori and kudari. we haven't heard from him yet so its a sneaking suspicion 🤔 i also wanted to include allusions to kyurem since i mentioned the forest of mirrors as a boundary between wonderland and the real world and guess who's the boundary pokemon idk bulbapedia said it was a husk pokemon idk who that is *wink wink nudge nudge* and since our resident amnesiac kudari was there maybe it means something? i also wanted to make some comparisons between kyurem and the king but i felt it was getting wayyy out of hand hehe

also also as you can probably tell i believe that wonderland is very much a real place but it is also a product of a dream since gen 5 had that dream world mechanic dunno how that's gonna fit in the story but its a nice thought

I'm delighted to meet another Emmet simp! One of the big motivators behind 'I wish for truth' was for Emmet to not be a sad sad angsty depressed boy for once. Hence, him being a mysterious, powered up, bamf lol. I'm so very glad my story was able to provide that break from the *angst* that I myself was looking for.

I'm honoured to have someone so aware of my works! Communication on AO3 is relatively limited and I don't get much feedback aside from what's available on there (and social media ain't really my thing), so it's nice to know that there are people who notice and appreciate. The concept of having fans is still somewhat foreign to me cos all I'm doing is writing stuff... (that's all self-indulgent lolol). Quick question do you ever miss Misaki? it felt like they were a ray of sunshine in this side of the community I still don't understand why someone would hurt such a nice person :( I know they meant a lot to some people on here and not seeing you stop by with your hilarious anon ask on their blog or them drawing your ocs just makes things so sad :'(((

of course I do, tbh I didnt tell anyone this but I kinda felt emotional about it too, liked rebloging her stuff, doing art trades and sending her goofy asks on anon which where obviously me was fun but also she just dmed me out of no where wanting to be friends in a really cute way and I felt more comfortable on here when she was on.

I also feel sad like maybe I should have just blocked or deleted those gossip anons? I still remember getting my first one and didn't think much of it , I didn't respond to it , figured it was jus a person who clashed with her that was all but I kept getting them, I wish tumblr had a private reply button for anons I was hoping I could convince them calmly just to leave her alone. Things got really creepy when I saw one of her stalker anons said they had to use their neighbours internet to still anon her, this kinda freaked me out and honestly I 100 percent get why she left not all the anons she got where even on her blog she told me somebody left her a shitty farewell anon.

It is depressing to say this but if you find a new blog and recognise her ocs you prob will have to dm her first before following and this might be a risky option if your previous relationship with her was very open but even if you where just one of her kind anons she is gonna have trust issues on this site for a while.

My way of dealing with it is to just try and distract myself with new blogs and new projects I thankfully have made a few other friends on here. That is why I cope , avoid and distract ;(

Try and think of the positives anon tho , she needed to get away from a toxic environment and as long as she has family and good friends she can heal (= maybe even in a few yeas you will see her again, full of confidence wth her own secure happy blog and by then whoever these anons where will have moved on x

i feel a little silly but this made me cry AHHhah had to take a moment

ngl it is a little stressful for me here lately. like, i already mentioned it a lot of times before i think but im. very very bad with people. i get nervous extremely easily and im very awkward, im pretty sure thats noticeable in some of the stupid, brainless things or gibberish i say-- i like talking to people (and lots of you are really nice) but at the same time im scared i mess up bc im jsut so bad and awkward at talking. i dont get jokes sometimes, i dont get it when someone is purposefully mean to me or just messing around. ; i dont mind some teasing but sometimes i cant tell if smth was meant seriously or not, so bc i cant pick up on that i just get a bit more careful and quiet or just like "ahaha" bc idk if i actually behaved annoying and i dont wanna upset anyone (i know i know its my blog and all, but its jsut me as a person. i dont like upsetting someone and im just. a people pleaser ig?) so yeah i guess you could say some stuff affects me, though it is mostly stuff i cant tell the meaning of or interpret wrong?

people deciding for me what i post about is not really an issue tbh, i have lots of requests or ideas in my inbox but i long since stopped trying to draw everythign like i did back then in fate. i draw for whatever i personally like or smth, if that was what you were worried about (i just get insecure sometimes when i draw smth "too often" e.g. suggestive stuff etc that it might annoy people. again, i know its my blog but again, im someone who worries about other people etc) i enjoy drawing, for myself and for others, and sharing my stuff here and it makes me super happy whenever i see people like it or tell me about it, thats not whats stressful for me. its just bc of this whole thing mentioned above and how insecure it gets me sometimes. and bc im worried i accidentally annoy anyone with uhhh. me being me i guess, when i cant control it good. im trying my best, really. its just not very good, im sorry about that
