Going to jump on the please-read-Rebecca campaign!! I didn't realize you hadn't! She's a very British version of Shirley Jackson imo--slightly queer vibes, anthropomorphic houses, incredible prose voice, claustrophobic female POV--I think you'll really like it!
@no-where-new-hero
oh ho! you inspired me to go get rebecca from my library today, so I am now the new possessor of that and The Mill on the Floss, very excited to begin!
I will say, as someone who spent the whole morning doing yardwork, reading the first chapter of rebecca was chilling for entirely different reasons than the author intended - here I am thinking "man that's gonna be a lot of work to clean out" 😭

This episode was really tragic and beautiful at the same time. It showed that yes, this world has ended and is full of monsters, but you can still find something to fight and live for.
You can still plant strawberries. You can still paint art and play music. You can have dinner together and live a domestic peaceful life with someone you love.
You can survive, but you can also live.

on the topic of hozier and tamino. as far as my synesthesia is concerned, their fundamental vibes are somewhat similar or adjacent, but the aesthetics that cover them/the way they go about PRESENTING those vibes is different. hozier is all green and brown and reddish-brown and gold and orange, lots of very autumny colors, and tamino had some similar colors—earthy browns and greens and golds and whatnot—but he also has a lot of dreamy purples and deep roses/magentas, like a night sky-- or, should i say, an indigo night.

Dream Home - Part 2
Today I want to continue the description of the ideal home my partner and I envision. I copy here again what I said about it in the first part of this post, here.
In that first part, I shared with you our idea for the home itself, while today I am going to speak about its sustainability, a topic that deeply resonates with us.
