Hi @spinchip I saw your post about wanting to commission Ice Emperor x Sea Nya and I was like "Oh! I could draw that for him! Plus sounds like a pretty interesting ship" and within minutes of drawing it I was fucking obsessed
So obsessed in fact that I made a playlist for them as well 😁
I've been working on this for a month straight and it has taken me over 20 hours 😁😁😁
Anyways hope you like it! Consider it a gift :D

Can You Lick the Investiture?
As requested by anon. :)
There's a post on tumblr somewhere that asks, "can you lick the science?" And it's like: geology-yes, physics-how?, chemistry-DO NOT, etc. So now we're going to ask the all-important licking question of investiture. So...can you lick the investiture?
1. Starmark (White Sand)
Do not lick a person's Starmark without consent! Got consent? Go wild, I guess!
2. AonDor (Elantris)
The Elantrian who has just drawn the glowing Aon may not want you to lick it, but it won't harm the Aon in any way--and don't you want to know if it makes your tongue tingle?
3. Surgebinding (Stormlight Archive)
What are you licking exactly?? You can lick the gems, I suppose, and you can lick some spren, but only if they want you to. If you are trying to draw in Stormlight, then I don't think licking is the right move. Seriously. Stop licking the gems. It's getting weird.
3. Forgery (The Emperor's Soul)
Ha ha! Lick that stamp all you want! Feels real, doesn't it?
4. Bloodsealing (The Emperor's Soul)
DO NOT LICK THE BLOODSEAL
5. ChaySan (Elantris)
Good luck! The practitioner is leaping all around, constantly in motion. Can your pitiful tongue really keep up?
6. Allomancy (Mistborn)
Hell, yeah! You should definitely lick those metals!
7. Hion (Yumi & The Nightmare Painter)
Honestly, I bet those hion lines and hion lights look like a delicious forbidden treat. You should lick them.
8. Feruchemy (Mistborn)
People do not want you to lick their jewelry, generally speaking. Is it YOUR jewelry, though? Then lick away.
9. Hemalurgy (Mistborn)
S-Stop it! That's a dead human! The spike is very gross as well, PLEASE do not lick it!
10. Awakening (Warbreaker)
Can you lick someone's Breath? I don't think so. Can you lick an Awakened object? Yes, but depending on what it is, could be risky. Can you lick a god? Yes, and they might be into it.
11. Dakhor (Elantris)
I think you will be killed.
12. Old Magic (Stormlight Archive)
I would not recommend licking the Nightwatcher. Or Cultivation. They may alter the deal.
13. Sandmastery (White Sand)
T-That's one way to get water, I guess. But licking sand? I don't think you'd enjoy it.
14. Aether (Tress & The Emerald Sea)
NOOOO YOU WILL KILL US ALL

Can’t sleep. Thinking about the fact that one of the symptoms of Kharaa is increased aggression. And how that would’ve affected the Architects considering their minds are all networked. I don’t think they’re above experiencing this symptom, especially with the whole point of their story sort of being that they were wrong to think themselves capable of fighting nature itself, and what happened with Kharaa being sort of the manifestation of that in a way.
But I wonder if they could all feel each others’ pain. I wonder if each of them could feel the network as a whole getting angrier and more desperate around them as the infection spread. I wonder if that’s why the Sea Emperor couldn’t break through and communicate with them. The Architects’ own telepathy just being too loud and chaotic with the state the network was in.
I wonder if the network’s growing aggression singled out and targeted Al-An, when he was supposed to be developing a cure, he was supposed to save them; instead he disobeyed the collective, betrayed them, and set back their progress finding a cure. I wonder how often they reminded him of that.
I wonder if he heard their voices, felt their anger towards him. He was such an easy target for the heightened aggression Kharaa left them with. What was he hearing over the network as he tried to fix his mistake? As the Warpers were created? As the Sea Emperor fetus was dissected?
I wonder if he felt the progression of the infection in other Architects through the network billions of times over before his own body began to develop those tell-tale green blisters, signifying he didn’t have long.
I wonder if it was almost a relief for Al-An to be put into storage, not able to hear them anymore. Not able to notice as the network goes from unusually uproarious compared to the usual order… to silencing almost completely as his species slowly died off… only echos of familiar harmonies remaining.

Remember that wasper from the comic?
Tumblr media
It had been in the mind for quite a long time, ever since coming across the theory that aliens could transfer their minds in warpers. As in those who had complete immunity to the disease. I don't subscribe to that theory, for not only do these creatures behave autonomously, performing only a couple of functions depending on what they see in front of them, but they are generally quite limited.
Tumblr media
But the point is that this particular warper is more intelligent than the others. He is far from the same Al-An, but he has similar features of the peculiar thinking of his creators. And he has additional tasks in the form of keeping an eye on the experimental samples. The baby reaper is also the one specimen that is showing signs of life (i.e. not dead), and therefore arouses the warper's interest. The aliens held a collective mind, so why wouldn't they and the warpers create some sort of center of that very mind that could communicate with the rest?

*omnom-nom*
I thought about how to make him look different from the rest of the warpers and at the last moment it was decided to make him 4 translucent tentacles. I really don't like those “legs” that actually look like legs. So let it be 4. Especially since for some reason I really feel like their appearance is based on the Sea Emperor for the most part. Which is evident from their head-jaw shape and forelimbs x)
Tumblr media
Maybe there's more to him 🤔
