- lwk my least favorite of the designs, like he’s not ugly he’s just not my favorite

- three pairs of wings because his wings are his prize characteristic, to symbolize unity

- his moon halo doubles as the seraphim eye halo, mostly bc he got three pairs of wings so it looked cool and fitting

- water pattern because the moon controls the tides, also ironically because he cries the most (he’s got tears on the big face cross and throughout the water patterns)

- crossed-out eyes in blue and red because soul took his sight after he went after mind

- flowy mythic clothing to drive home that almost angelic look

- honestly my favorite, i’m very proud of how he turned out

- star pattern for obvious reasons

- tragedy mask in blue and purple, because even at his purest form, he still is the host of his heart and mind (also album cover reference)

- claws. demon motifs. religious everything. i was gonna add a little tail but i didn’t like how it looked

- hair is a mix of heart and mind’s

- only one to keep his void self in his simple/humanoid design, probably because he’s the closest to the whole and the loops, and in turn his pure form

the amount of beef i have with this outfit....

They dressed the King of Greed in rags. Literal fucking rags for an outfit. It's more tattered than Belphie's! Sure there's a lot of gold there but it's all being drowned in the stupid color palette. How can the gold stand out from the piss yellow colors they put him in 😭 there should've been black on the outfit! His base sprite is like 70% black from his robe thingy and it's fine! That's good contrast and it makes the golds more obvious!!!

Look at this. I went and set the image into grayscale and the original sprite is dogshit with the color values. It's all one blob of gray. Sometimes a good design isn't just about colors but contrast too.

Look at the other sprites. They have a decent enough balance between light and dark values.

For Lucifer, the dark coat outlines his silhouette better and the belts create segments in a way so his body doesn't look like a blob of white.

For Belphegor, it's all black yeah but that makes you immediately look at his chest and face (and his piercings), which becomes the focus instead (no I do not want to talk about his funky ass hat what the fuck is that)

Satan, Asmo, Levi, and Beel have good enough values all over. If there are areas where it looks like the same shade in grayscale, they differentiate it through either color or texture. I.e., Satan's pants and coat lining are red but they vary in saturation and texture. Pants are a saturated red while the coat lining is patterned. Same situation with Asmo's belt wrap and coat lining, as well as Levi's coat and the bow’s patterned cloth (what a fucking diva he just has to have a bow)

Beel's coat lining could have more differentiation. Ik his base sprite is purple on the inside, but if they didn't wanna mix in Levi's colors in his outfit, then they could've gone with a lighter shade of green.

But Mammon,,,,oh dear me what the fuck did they do to youuuuuu 😭 bro wait til I get my shrimpy hands on a better quality version of the sprite i have so much to say about it

The end of a dark season left a lot of people tired and full of melatonin, which Oikawa Toru could undoubtedly feel that particular day in February. He wanted to get some schoolwork done in the library and sat across from a pretty woman by a table in the corner. The notes on the page slowly started getting blurry as his studying proceeded, and he eventually closed his eyes and rested his head on the tabletop. You only noticed Oikawa when he began lightly snoring. He was wearing nice clothes, and you could appreciate that along with his other striking features. A laugh bubbled in your throat before poking his arm with the back of a pen until he picked his head up at record speed. While you held your breath, he rubbed his eyes with a small mumble, "Sorry."

Embarrassment crept up his spine, but a joyful sound replaced it as laughter rang in his ears. You chuckled at Oikawa’s sleepy face, and he decided then and there that he wanted to hear it more. For the rest of that evening, he would look over at you every time someone in the library did anything and imitated them dramatically. He emphasised his facial expressions, sometimes even crossing his eyes or repeating their sentences. It made you laugh every time. This man was undoubtedly incredibly charming. "You're distracting me," you whispered, leaning slightly over the table and looking him in the eyes.

"What's the hurry?" he whispered back, genuinely wondering.

"I have a project," you informed him, followed by a heavy sigh as you leaned back in your chair to look at your notepad. "A big one." Instead of leaving you to work, this caught Oikawa’s attention. He switched seats to be beside you and looked at what he had supposedly distracted you from.

To his surprise, drawings of clothing and cutouts from magazines filled the pages. Funky coats and tailored pants seemed to be prominent on the page in a variety of colours and illustrated textures. "Fashion design? Amazing."

"I think so too, but we have to make a small collection, and I've created so many pieces that I'm struggling with making it all work," you rambled, and Oikawa showed that what you said genuinely interested him. His intrigued eyes almost made you lose your words.

"Can I help? I'm Oikawa, by the way." His look reminded you of a soft puppy as he held out his hand. What he said was interesting, though, and you didn’t expect it. He did dress very well, from what you had seen so far.

You took his hand, lingering for a second too long. "Y/n. I would like that, but don't you have anything you should work on?"

"It's not nearly as interesting," Oikawa answered quickly, closing his books for dramatic effect.

Thus, you met again one day later, in the same seats, looking at what you had so far. Immediately, it felt like you were old friends, not afraid to ask questions or make jokes.

Arms crossing over each other’s, moving cutouts and exchanging ideas in hushed voices made you forget everything around you until you finally agreed on one outfit. Oikawa even had some exciting ideas for each piece. Sitting back in your chairs with wide happy grins, you gave each other a high five. A loud clap rang through the room, and several heads turned, so you acted like you didn't know where it came from either. A dynamic duo in the making.

My Fashion HCs for Teenage/YA Kyle Broflovski

Disclaimer: These are just my design notes that I consider when designing/drawing Kyle and my personal interpretation of how I think he would dress and present himself! You're free to disagree or even take inspo from this. I don't own clothes nor your opinion. 🫶 Please also feel free to let me know your personal fashion HCs through the comments or tags as well. I'd love to hear other people's interpretations of these characters and I'm always collecting new HCs!!

Getting this out of the way first: he's a bad dresser.

HAVE YOU SEEN HIS PC DESIGN?

The boy does not know how to dress himself.

I imagine he gets his clothes mostly from Sheila and Gerald.

When he gets Gerald’s clothes, he looks pretty good, albeit sometimes it can be a bit big on him when he’s younger.

God help Sheila though. She’s doing her best but I HC her to be a second-generation immigrant and she dresses Kyle up from time to time. HAVE YOU SEEN HIS CLOTHES? Sheila is 100% the type to put Kyle in some funky ass patterned zigzag stuff and thinks her bubbeleh looks adorable.

Absolutely no sense of layering. He wears one thing and that's the outfit. Has to be told how to wear a sweater vest/vest over a dress shirt. The most layering he’ll do is a flannel over a t-shirt. Someone save him.

The worst part about getting his fashion sense from his parents is that he dresses like a dad /derogatory

At least he wears belts.

Also: no sense of customization. He will buy the clothes and he will wear them as is. If he’s feeling adventurous, he’ll tuck the shirt into his pants.

He absolutely bought the same green ushanka after his old one grew out. Whether it's the same color or if it's a slightly more desaturated one, idk (for his sake, I hope it's a more desaturated one). But that dude definitely bought the same one because he likes to hold onto the things he holds dear for longer than he should and not let go. He's stubborn and that hat is going nowhere.

He strikes me as someone who would wear Lacoste and Ralph Lauren

A sneakerhead.

I like to HC he got into sneakers because he initially wanted to fit in with cool people, but then he genuinely got into it.

Colors

God awful. He chose the worst kind of saturated green and the worst kind of saturated orange to be his favorite colors, and constantly pairs them together thinking it looks good. He does not in fact look good. He looks like a High-Vis Jacket. Or a traffic cone.

He gets one or the other: Either the colors work and his clothes are horrendous, or the fit kinda eats BUT YOU CAN’T EVEN LOOK AT IT BECAUSE YOUR EYES ARE BLEEDING FROM THE COLORS

Also, horrible patterns oh my god the patterns. From zigzags to stripes to argyle to gingham to plaid. The thing is these patterns aren’t bad BUT PAIRED WITH HIS CLOTHES AND THESE COLORS? He looks like a carpet shop. Christmas sweater looking ahh

At the very least, occasionally he'll wear neutrals like brown, beige, black and white.

In terms of actual clothes:

Tops

Ugly ass polos. Either a beige one or an Uncle Roger type of orange polo.

Also polo knit sweaters

Boring ass t-shirts. Either in neutral colors or his all time favorite saturated green or saturated orange.

Sweatshirts.

Sweaters.

Turtlenecks

Dress shirts, blouses, and button ups. Long and short sleeves.

Probably his dad’s Alma Mater hoodie.

His basketball jerseys.

If and when he learns... some vests and sweater vests. Must be given guidance on this (mostly from Butters).

Pants

Skinny jeans. Enough said. At least has the ass for it.

Or any tight-fitted pants, like chino pants.

Or dress pants from Gerald that are too big on him.

His basketball shorts.

Fishing shorts.

(that skinny jeans picture kills me. yes he'd wear skinny jeans like this. yes he'd cuff them up and you can see his ankles.)

Jackets/Coats

Blazers.

Flannels.

Fleece jackets.

Waxed cotton jackets.

Barn coats.

Wool car jackets.

Sometimes he'll wear the jackets fully zipped too.........

I imagine him wearing stuff with a tweed material, like a tweed blazer.

When he's older, he'll wear longer coats that his dad gives him, like topcoats or overcoats.

Some sporty windbreakers.

Maybeeee bomber jackets. Has to be given guidance on this or borrows Stan’s.

Shoes

Again, sneakerhead. So New Balances, Air Forces, Air Maxes, Air Jordans, Adidas, basketball sneakers, etc. (Disclaimer: I'm not a sneakerhead. This is just what I was able to gather based on one quick google search).

Sometimes dress shoes when he wants to feel fancy, but he always gets called a douche for it.

Sweatbands for his head and wrists, but only when he’s playing basketball or working out.

For gloves, I imagine those thicker, heavy duty winter finger gloves.

He tries ties, but they are not good. Once again: ugly patterns or colors.

Sometimes needs his reading glasses (he tries to deny it, but he does need them occasionally).

Edit: FORGOT TO ADD he'd totally wear watches.

Hats

His stupid ushanka/trapper hat.

Other miscellaneous stuff:

One thing’s for sure: he’s well groomed.

Not a single wrinkle on his clothes. He knows his way around an iron.

Buttons up every button, though sometimes that makes him look a loser nerd or an uptight douche. Stan has to tell him to at least unbutton the two top ones.

At the very least, his clothes are well tailored to fit his body.

His sneakers are always pristine white. Takes good care of them.

I want to say he sometimes wears cologne but no. I know in my heart he’s an axe body sprayer user. Give him some time, he'll learn.

Hair

At some point went through a phase where he just shaved off all of his hair.

It takes a while for him to learn how to take care of his hair, but he gets some tips from Bebe + a barber shop recommendation from her and he’s never looked back.

Before that, he would just tie it up or hide it under his hat. He still does that though when he's overwhelmed with schoolwork and can't properly take care of it.

Uses some kind of hair product Bebe gives him to make his curls defined (another disclaimer: I have straight hair and not a curl expert so im not tooo sure on this 😔, my only knowledge is based on those curly hair GRWM youtube shorts that pop up on my feed).

But yea, well defined curls and a bit of a little bit of a fade just to get rid of some weight off of his head. Though he probably only gets the fade when he's 17-18.

Diagnosis: BAD BAD BAD. DESPERATELY needs an intervention.

I'm currently writing a skybound fic about when everyone spawns into the new world.

Do you think Virgil would get a fancy new Phoenix outfit or do you think he'd stay the same?

Virgil does get a new phoenix fit!! It’ll be in the Virgil epilogue eventually, butttt it’s also in a couple of the frames Puffin drew for the Elwood epilogue frames too! :D

This is the concept sketch for the fit! It leans a little more into the new magenta-y colouring of his phoenix feathers, and brings back some of the long coat vibes of his original design, and the vest look of his mid-season design!

It’s also a funky little callback to the Valencia phoenix design, where you can see she also has that sort of trailing robe aesthetic about her clothes :))

In terms of cosy comfortable fit, I think he’s still a sucker for his oversized sweater, when Elwood isn’t stealing it, but for the most part yeeeee, new phoenix look :D

HAAANDSS I've always prided myself on being able to draw them so HERES A FUN LITTLE THINGY I DID!!! Tried to get a good variety of hands here. With the humans, ranging from young child to older child to adult, plus a couple of skin tones and features. Then with the animatronics, what the difference is between a harshly-put-together robot vs. an actually well-put-together animatronic.

(AND AS A BONUS their handwriting and how I think they'd draw smilies!!!!)

HEADCANONS UNDER THE CUT, written in the order I drew them in, not the order they appear.

I started with Michael. I was originally going to make him a lot more worn out, but just kept it simple probably for the sake of my sanity. A good few scars from the stuff he's went through. He probably has rather good handwriting because he's had a lot of practice both with legal documents and probably journaling. (Not really taking into account the Logbook here. It totally wasn't because I don't know what his handwriting looks like off the top of my head and was too lazy to get out of bed and get the book to reference.) He does a pretty generic smiley face, too.

Cassie was next. I don't really draw human hands with fingernails a lot so that was a challenge. The idea here was to make a hand that was that of an older kid, but obviously not as big or with fingers as long as Michael's are, for example. I played with her skin tone for a little bit, and I'm not too experienced with working in color, so please do let me know if there's anything I can improve upon when I do darker skin tones in the future! I was trying to get that lighter tone on her underhand but wasn't too positive about it. I also gave her some funky little bracelets, one of which is a direct copy of a bracelet that my lovely friend (@masquayla-the-splendid) for me. Cassie probably has fairly decent handwriting and definitely dots her i's with hearts when she writes her name. She tries to make the smiley faces look cute.

Evan's turn! I headcanon Evan to be much younger, so I made his hands smaller and stubbier. He's pretty pale because of the whole dying thing, and he's got some freckles and moles, sort of inspired by my own hand in a way! I've got little moles everywhere so I figured I'd incorporate that into his design, partly as a way to add more flair to an otherwise plain base. Other than that, not much going on here. He's got messier handwriting because he's a kid, and in my AU he didn't really get to go to school for all that long, so his siblings probably taught him how to write before he died. The brain damage probably doesn't help much either. He's trying his best.

For Sun and Moon, initially I couldn't decide which one of the two to color. As I was making the base I was thinking pretty hard about it, but ultimately figured out that I could probably just split it down the middle, and it worked! I've been trying to give the Daycare Attendants longer fingers to reflect how their hands look in the games. I couldn't make their hands too big because it either looked stupid to me or took up too much space, so I settled with this. I also gave them little scratches on their fingerpads. Sun and Moon have different signatures, with Moon's being a little more neat while Sun's is more fun and just a tad messier. He also overdecorates a bit. Moon stays simple with his smiley faces and Sun loves to express Big Happiness in his.

Ennard's hands (particularly their wrists where their wires tangle together like that) never look the same twice when I draw them, but I like to think the placement of their wires probably changes fairly frequently too, like a Double Rex Rat who has a new coat pattern every few days. Their wires have tarnished over time, but they try to maintain just a little bit of glint, despite the rusting, which is particularly noticeable in the spots where their fingertips brush against things most often. They've also got those little stray wires that poke out of each fingertip. Of course, holding any kind of writing utensil with those Big Meaty Claws has gotta be difficult, so even if they try their hardest, it's not gonna turn out great. Same with their smiley faces. They're doing their best.

Chimata is pretty neat :) SO I just want to talk about Chimata for a lil bit because I think she's pretty cool. First off is her design, it's a rainbow design which most of time can look really ugly. Due to a lack of color consistency making it really hard to focus on the character. However, Chimata's design circumvents this by using colors' natural values.

Some colors are just naturally darker (or have lower values) than other colors. Chimata's design uses these natural values. Just in case if you're a bit confused, I have all the colors all the way to the top right, yet, some of them are still darker.

Our eyes naturally tend to look at what is the lightest. In this case, you're going to look at Chimata's center, her face and her white coat. Then they're going to travel downwards to the yellow, portion, then to the blue/green, then to the purple. Then again from chimata's center, your eyes travel to the orange, and then to the red of her arms.

This is such a clever way to do a rainbow design and I love it so much cause of that. It might still look off to some people though because of the really high saturation, which is why some artists desaturate her colors just a teensy bit. Ok now i wanna talk about her theme, "Where is that Bustling Marketplace Now ~ Immemorial Marketeers", specifically the Rainbow-Colored Septentrion version of the theme. Unlike most Touhou final boss themes, these theme feels desperate and powerless. The closest theme that I think gets to the feeling of desperation this theme has is Sukuna's theme with it's final part. Zun described the song as being split into two halfs, a 'wailing' section and a 'upbeat' section. The trumpets that appear 50 seconds into the song which really emphasizes that wailing part, they're slow and completely cut off the climax that the song was building up to at that point. Then once more, it builds tension up and up again, but once more it fails to capitalize on it and goes into THE BELL SECTION (my fav part !) A calm before the storm before the actual climax with a cool fast piano! This part always feels like a last resort, I know to many it sounds upbeat but to me it always sounded desperate. It has barely any long notes, and is a super frantic. The melody also has this funky lil shape I like Picture from chronondecay's transcription of Chimata's theme

The melody is constantly going up and down in fast sucession. The stops within it, especially with the zunpets, feel like gasps of air to just barely continue. Until it falls down again into a repeating zunpet part that sounds like it's trying to recapture the feeling of the previous section, but just can't. That thing this song does, of rising to a climax that just doesn't come is so cool in my opinion. It feels so desperate and confused as to the direction of where it has to go. Showing Chimata's feelings during the incident where she is completely at a disadvantage due to the pandemic of the outside world, and being a newcomer to Gensokyo. She's trying to survive, but doesn't know how to go about it. Well thats my best try at an analysis of a song 😎 since my knowledge of music just comes from looking at midis lol. I'd like to talk about some of her story stuff too, like the incident and her relationship with Megumu that get's explored in Lotus Eaters but I AM TIRED. Instead of doing my homework thats due in 5 hours I did this for like an hour so I'mma stop for now. Hope you all like Chimata a bit more!

Sketch dump time! A whole bunch of requests from the crazy ex-bird app

In Order: Maisie, Pam, Colette, Buster, Chester, Chuster ❤️🧡 (and a teeny Gus), Leon and Sandy (Leondy 💚💜), Bull, El Primo, and Mandy!

Extra notes about each sketch:

Maisie:

Her breath attack is a condensed foam material, similar to that of a fire extinguisher. Using a gas similar to a pressurized CO² (based on gas-based fire extinguishers!), she shoots it out at high speeds. These hits can potentially cause frostbite and even severe damage to the body if left unattended. She's quite powerful in this AU due to this ability 👀👀 being able to put out the fires and overpower another dragon's breath? Now THAT'S some queen moves right there! She can also simply spray out the foam substance at short range without that pressurized gas. This helps with more close range fire fighting work.

Her right wing and front leg were undeveloped, a disability she'd had since she hatched. However! With the help of mechanics, she uses these prosthetics to help her fly. Still gotta test out how to draw it to make sense, as well as sort out how it stays in place. I've been using inspiration from Toothless (HTTYD) and his tail that Hiccup made.

Pam:

Pam is a bulkier dragon, very much on the larger side of all of them. I'm at odds with myself to figure out whether ot not she'll have wings 🤔 so I had two copies there! Perhaps her wings may be a bit smaller if I do give her them.

Pam spits out molten magma that's stored up inside her as an attack. However, it can also be chunks of scrap metal that she stores up. Otherwise, it's just magma.

Though I didn't draw this, I want Pam to be very resilient to fire in general, as her species/family of dragon use their ability to spew this magma (technically Lava after ut leaves her body? I'll do more research on this...) in order to craft and shape metal. While other dragons need to spend some time to build up a fire hot enough, the Junker family line is able to do this much more easily. (Amber is a close second, though)

Her skin has the ability to crack and seep up lava out of it, potentially coating her body in this to give herself a temporary lava shield, something extremely hard to break through. (In the future, little Jessie may also be able to do this... however, Pam doesn't think she's ready at the moment and avoids the topic or any ideas of teaching her how.)

Colette:

Colette flies in a sort of funny way, twirling around and flapping her wings to maintain somewhat of a chaotic flight pattern. Think of a snake slithering through the sky, but with large wings and the grace of... a teenage dragon (not much, but it does work).

When she gets better at flying...pray and hope she isn't able to catch up to her favourite brawlers cause she isn't ever gonna let go of them 💀 It makes for a great attack, actually! Charging at enemies and coiling around them like a snake to prevent movement, like a big hug ❤️ she just loves everyone SO much 😍

Buster:

Finally kinda set on a design for this funky guy! He's a larger dragon (smaller than El Primo or Frank, but still definitely up there in size)

His wings never quite grew fully, so he wouldn't be able to fly 😔 however, that'll never stop him and his dreams of being a cool movie star 🧡🧡

Buster, at the heart of it, is an unstoppable force when he sets his mind to something. He'll charge in with the same ferocity as his favouite protagonists, rivalling the audacity and hard-headed nature of even Bull! All while doing so for his friends 💪 we love Buster in this AU frfr

Chester:

Chester always has theatrics when he flies. Flips, spins, and fun aerodynamic movements up in the sky! He's gotta compensate for his lack of speed compared to other wyverns after all, but he thinks he's pretty great 😎

Loved drawing this kinda unique pose tbh! That's what I loved with these drawings, I got to experiment without really thinking too much for em with how polished and clean that look. It was very fun! 🔥

Chuster ft. Gus❤️🧡:

We love some goofy gays here 🥹❤️🧡 I just wanted to let em have a little nuzzle + smooch! Dragons don't necessarily kiss, but little side boops like this are the equivalent of a cheek kiss.

Also, a little Gus on the side 🥹🥹 I love this sort of found family dynamic that have! Buster being the cool dad vibe/big bro to Gus, and then Buster being in a relationship with Chester so that he's also a cool dad too 😎 Gus loved these two guys from the very start, they're funny 🤭 never a boring day for these silly lads.

Leondy 💚💜:

My beloveds 🤲 I really do cherish the ship, as well as strong friendship Sandy and Leon have. (Btw in my HCs, Leon and Sandy are 13 & 14 respectively, just to clear that up!)

Sandy, I've mentioned a few times, is very inspired by Capybaras, so Leon finding one is just perfect 🤭 silly little deadpan face lads.

Bull:

BULLDOZERRRR- What a lad! Bull is inspired by- uh, Bulls! Great creatures, large bodies and thick necks to support those headstrong charges 🐂 I love making his posture all confident, strong steps to say, "Yeah. You TRY and stand up to me. I DARE you." Don't wanna mess with him on most days 🏃‍♀️💨💨

El Primo:

Still figuring out a full-body for El Primo, bit he's roughly the same size as Bull! (Maybe a bit bigger)

El Primo has got really small wings, similar to his El Dragón skin. Even his scales and horns are inspired by that mostly! Love when characters have preexisting dragon themed skins 🤭 makes it a lot easier to make ideas!

His "mask" is actually just body paint. He has similar paint on his body, really showing off the vibrant colours and persona he puts on for the crowds.

He WILL beat up his enemies into a pulp in matches. Thank goodness there's the gem powered regeneration and the respawn system in place 😭 I plan to give him a very strong body and tail, enough to support him when he needs to go on his hind legs and overpower his opponents. Buster is designed in a similar way as well!

Mandy:

Last but not least, the Queen of Candy herself. Not even the Dragon AU let's her escape fast food work 😔😔

Her super attack is purely a magical sugar-based rainbow blast, as shown in the sketch. Also, I'm now realizing that I forgot her red spots oml- No wonder she looks so empty 💀 uhh sorry about that, lads 😭 I'll redraw her one day to show off that glowing effect of her spots 🥹🥹

Time for Hiro! Spoilers up ahead!

I'll be honest. These designs were so easy. Just came naturally. Therefore, I kinda don't really have much to say. Regardless though, first design, I gave him a tie die shirt, either something he got from a dingy flea market that costed way too much money or perhaps something he made himself. Baggy pants for both outfits were a given though I made sure. Additionally, he keeps the sandals but I gave him socks with this design solely off of vibes. Hiro just gives me socks and sandals energy. For the second design, his work attire, I'll be honest again. It's a bit lazy in some ways, which both works with Hiro's nature while also just being like, a design I guess. Basically a combo meal of his original design and outfit in the anime. A bit of a snazzier shirt that looks similar to what he wore in his og design, an ill-fitting overcoat in line more with his anime appearance (after all his og coat was from a school uniform), and of course sandals. Ya can't go wrong with sandals. Also I feel Hiro just doesn't wear standard shoes. Man is destined to have the dogs out and no one can stop him unfortunately. I also gave him a little pouch. dunno what he's got in there. Maybe some snacks on the go or literally all he owns. Probably a coin flip depending on the day... In regards to the outfit in context of his work, I see him helping his mom still at this age. Hiro will never not be a mommas boy. Additionally, I see him having his own little clairvoyant shop of his own though I do see him also popping in and helping out with the others and their work in their own way. Maybe he helps fill out Komaru and her little shop while she works on her manga on the side. Perhaps he might pop in at Makoto's school and help out. Not sure how but he could get it done... maybe. I dunno though. I just like the idea of Hiro being there for the others and being that older friend in that Hiro kind of way. Not exactly one of sage advice but just being that guy B]

As for some of his other features, I gave him the small glasses in line with his appearance in the Danganronpa 3 anime. I dunno. They just work for me. I also changed up his hair a bit by having it a mix of both up and spread out like in his original design. It's also still a bit funky though. I genuinely have no idea what to call this. It's weird and unique and I guess Hiro's rocking it so that's gotta count for something! Additionally, I styled his facial hair a bit differently though it's literally just his mustache being slightly more hairy and defined and him having the stubble/sole patch combo. Now Makoto and him can be stubble buddies!! (also chest hair buddies which I say now cus my gosh I should have given Makoto chest hair before but I'm realizing that now so screw it! just going to say that now. right here. cus why not) Also, yeah. Hiro's got the chest hair. I had to. Probably should have drawn it a bit curlier but shhhh. Just imagine the chest curls cus I am both too lazy and too tried to go and edit him now -_- One other thing of note I wish to mention is the tattoo he's got on one of his legs. I thought it'd be very dumb if he had one and it happened to be a really shitty tattoo of his mom. Don't have any specific lore for it but I think the beauty of the tattoo is that any story can work. This is Hiro after all. Maybe he got some crappy tattoo artist to do it for him off of a doodle he drew on the spot of his mom by memory. Maybe he tried needle-poking the dang thing himself even! Maybe even Syo did it for him cus he happened to be a bit out of it and happened to ask help from the local fiend of all people. Sky's the limit on what could have happened and I love it!

For the most part, I think he turned out decently well. Also it was just so fun drawing and coloring that tie-dye shirt. I gotta admit that. (1) | (8)

Okay so this isnt the first post ive made about shape language,

Here are the others:

ASL Shapes Strawhats Shapes

i'm just gonna copy and paste the definition i have for shape language from those posts here so i dont have to write it all again.

Shape language is defined as “a concept used in art and animation to communicate meaning based on shapes we are familiar with” (source). This concept uses circles, triangles, and squares to convey an idea of the “personality” of the design without using any words.

In designs, using circles and rounded edges in your silhouette and detailing gives the design a soft and squishy look. They tend to be harmless, approachable, or changeable.

Designs using squares gives the design a solid, sturdy, and strong look. They are supportive, reliable, and inflexible

Lastly, triangle designs are sharp and directional. They are dynamic, dangerous, and unpredictable.

That's base level but here's more in depth description of each design for ya:

this one is up first!

You may notice how in this design, his hair isnt in large clumps like the others are. His hair falls delicately and waves gently with little to no hard angles.

In this design, i was trying to convey the idea of "he wasnt born to fight, but he's molded himself into someone who will." I tried to depict that by making his hair all light and feathery, his facial features soft and rounded, but also showing how he's modified his body in a pointy and aggressive way.

I didn't want to only go hard edges with the piercings though because much like he's strayed from his mold of being delicate, he's also strayed from his mold of being a cruel noble. so some of his piercings are rings, AKA: Circles.

You may also notice the different in how I've drawn the collars of these guys. the collar of this Babo's black coat falls softly, and its' arc is rounded. The shoulders don't have any padding and it rounds at the corner.

This Man Is Round.

Next up is this Freak

This is supposed to be Triangle Him.

His hair is in larger, hard angled clumps. Indicating that he probably cut his hair himself. He did... greattt. I already headcannon him as someone who cuts his own hair, but i dont think this one ever gets any better at it.

The hard angles on his teeth, his scar, his jaw, his collar, that line i forgot to erase on the left, and his coat all give indication that this guy is Dangerous and you probably shouldnt mess with him.

I didn't have any real deeper meaning to this version, I just wanted to make him look as opposing as I could. this guy is "what you see is pretty much what you get."

Even though he doesn't have a lot of deeper meaning, I think this one is my favorite of the designs. I really love these colors on him and his hair was really fun to draw. I think I wanna draw him again at some point. I think this version of him would be very funny paired with Koala. I'm chuckling thinking about it:

And lastly this guy

Sabo's base design is very rectangle coded. From his Hat, to his face shape, to his coat. So this version was very easy to make as I didn't actually need to change that much!

I think maybe I could've made his design a little more complex? But also I think there is a beauty in simplicity for this one. He looks straightforward, reliable, and kind. He seems like the kind of guy who gets his hands dirty, not because he likes doing it, but because he does what he must for the greater good.

I really love his hazel eyes, too. I think it brings a nice warmth to his design that is really nice.

some notes for everypony:

Twilight Sparkle- i like gold on her design but not the absurd amounts everyone else gives her for some reason, so i made it an accent color. yes her magic is gold now too because of her eyes. her hair was also inspired by Mikan Tsumiki's cause i thought a more orderly version of her choppy mess would look good on Twilight, i was right. also glasses go brr, i think she looks cute in 'em

Apple Jack- while i love the long fetlocks people give her, i can't see her actually doing that because they'd be a pain to keep clean, so i did the opposite and had her shave her feathering off. i also put her hair up to keep it off her neck so she doesn't overheat while working. her cutiemark is my favorite part cause it's that family symbol where two adults and a kid make a heart, but i made it an apple instead, does a better job at showing her emphasis on family ties. no hat cause i like the idea of her hat being from her dad, and she doesn't want to mess it up wearing it daily so she wears it exclusively to special events

Rainbow Dash- i decided to make her less of a living lightening bolt and leaned more into her lazy side, going for the type of butch lesbian look that makes her feel like she wears tank tops and hangs out in the basement getting drunk and listening to rock. i wanted her to look like the only part of her she actually puts effort into maintaining is her wings

Fluttershy- i take great enjoyment in making Flutters a fucking lumbering giant compared to his friends (yes my Flutters is a guy), taking fluttertree and running with it. no notes aside from tall and green patterns and long hair and ooo pretty bronze jewelry. ig also his cutie mark is like- it was suppose to just be a paw and a butterfly but i accidentally made a parasprite with it, and instead of fixing it i just rolled with it and made it look more intentional

Pinkie Pie- THIS HORSE GAVE ME SO MUCH TROUBLE!! every part of my body was like "give her patterns! add things to her hair! it makes sense for her!!" but everything i did looked wrong and i couldn't get it to work. so i bit the bullet and made her really plain... and it worked. i don't know why but she just.... looks so much better with a really simple design, the hair texture does all the heavy lifting really

Rarity- of everyone, she's the one who'd have the long pretty fetlocks, and i decided to double down on that by not only making them so long you can't see her hooves, but also by making her have the longest and softest coat in general. she has the time and dedication to take care of such a high maintenance coat and she's gonna do it. it's even more impressive when you realize ponyville uses exclusively dirt roads. aside from that i think she deserves nice jewelry, and they use leather straps cause i think leather would be a ponyville fashion staple, she shows her hometown pride in her fashion

Spike- i thought it was weird he was so small the whole run, he should have had a growth spurt at some point imo, so i made him a bit bigger and more proportional to the older teen dragons, this is less of a redesign and more of a "make him actually grow up" thing, he's still small but not toddler small. this is the point where Twilight starts complaining about him sitting on her back cause he's getting too heavy. i also don't like how adult Spike ended up looking, but i haven't made a redesign of him yet

i have made an older alicorn Twilight design that i've been referring to as Ethereal Twilight, but i might hold off on sharing that for a while cause i have some funky hc lore ideas for the alicorns that i wanna refine a little before posting her. maybe i'll have older Spike drawn by then too, who knows

Karasuno Hair Salon!AU headcanons

I went to get a haircut a while ago and my hairdresser had silver hair like Suga's and it inspired this whole mess. Also, I don't know much about the hair salon business so take this with a huge chunk of salt?? Mostly assessing based of the qualities of the characters. Do not look too closely because there will be gaps.

Characters: All of your Karasuno volleyball team favourites + Yachi, Kiyoko, Ukai, Takeda

Sawamura Daichi

He takes on a senior/ manager role, has plenty of experience under his belt.

Makes small talk with the customer

Knows the regulars by names

Assigns shifts

Trains the rest of the staffs and is fairly good at all the roles

Covers whoever who can't make it

Used to give his siblings haircuts while they were growing up

I feel like he'd be open to going around to elderly homes and giving them free haircuts

Man's a guy who serves the community!!

Sugawara Koushi

He is so loved by all grandmamas and children.

Man can butter up ANYONE

and he lays it on thick

He's respectful, cheerful, and a good yapper

Children thinks he's kind and friendly

Generally pleasant guy

Will bribe children with candy so they stay still

Azumane Asahi

He knows the way he looks may scare kiddos away, so he uses his long hair to his advantage and styles it with lil' butterfly clips, pigtails and other accessories.

Has won a couple of hairdressing awards

Mostly the go-to person for more experimental styles

Has contacts in the modelling and fashion department which brings in a ton of money for the salon

The less shy children would go up to him and demands he lifts them like a lil' plane

He will never say no

Man makes a mean matcha though

Shimizu Kiyoko

Handles the makeup and photography should anyone come in with needs for bridal makeup services and other events.

Works closely with Asahi

Sometimes, they'll be out in the city together for side quests

She's a woman of many talents so pre-booking required!!!

Has a popular Instagram account dedicated to the bridal looks, mostly spread through word-of-mouth

Ennoshita Chikara

The hair salon prides themselves on incredible service as how they were trained under Ukai Sr.. So expect a nice lil drink while getting your next hairdo. The person behind the delicious coffee? Ennoshita.

Personally handles the coffee stock and orders

Has a good working relationship with the roasteries in town

Ensures each cup of coffee will brighten up your day

Does some cute doodles sometimes on the cups

WILL NOT GIVE OUT PHONE NUMBERS!! MAN'S KEEPING IT PROFESSIONAL

Cakes and other drinks are served too

Kinoshita Hisashi

Don't tell me this guy isn't the biggest gossip in this place. He easily encourages his customers to talk more, and is good at giving advice and reacting in an affirming way.

Him and Suga is always on top with the neighbourhood tea

He isn't a snitch but will act dumb about the drama

Narita Kazuhito

He plays a regular hairstylist role but helps out with Kageyama at the hairwashing station on busier days.

Has an adaptable personality so Daichi pairs him with new customers to have a feel for their personality

Tanaka Ryuunosuke

What many don't know about him is that he is a rather creative and artistic guy.

Paints nails and does incredible nail art

Can get eerily focused unlike his usual loud self

Practices new skills on Kiyoko (HIS WIFE!!)

Kiyoko ofc gets compliments and directs them to her incredible husband

And he recommends his WIFE'S makeup and photography services

When you need a dye job, he's the man.

Gets very excited when someone needs his services

Will talk you through the process, how to care for your new hair, and recommends the right shade for your skin etc

Has a little steppy stool

I feel like he will change that dyed part of his hair quite often. Different colours. Same part. It's kinda funny.

Is very patient throughout the process

Will send a complimentary cake your way as a thank you for the many hours it takes

Hinata Shouyou

Makes light conversation with the regulars when he gives them a haircut.

Daichi also sends new customers his way since Hinata has a certain knack of interpreting someone's requests

Loves it when customers give him free reign

Usually uses that opportunity to film those blind pick challenges

Kageyama Tobio

King of scalp massages

Gives a killer scalp massage

And a neck massage

Is very attentive to his customers and will always ask if the pressure is too hard or too soft

Yamaguchi Tadashi

Apprentice under Ennoshita and handles social media with Yachi

Appears in their TikToks

Likes making different latte art designs. His current go to is a bear since it appeals to everyone. The peacock is a challenge though.

Brainstorms a lot of the content ideas with Yachi, but he's usually the face of it

Has a strong online presence though despite being a little shy in real life

Occasionally, he goes to Suga to ask for tips and learns from him. Suga's more than willing to share his knowledge!

Tsukishima Kei

I see him as taking this only as a part-time job though just for the money.

I see him working together with Daichi to go around giving free haircut to the community centres

He's being paid for it and that's fine by him

It's not the ideal part-time job but it's near his college, pays decently and fits his schedule

His best friend works there and enjoys it, so that's a little bit of a bonus too

I can imagine his brother being the type to be quite fond of caring for the community, so it rubs off on him a bit too

Daichi is understanding of his frank personality. In the end, it really is just a job so no big deal.

Yachi Hitoka

Handles marketing and social media.

It started as a kind deed to help the small business grow but ended up liking the team and stayed on.

Is definitely why they're blowing up online

Usually films the TikToks but plans the content with Yamaguchi

Very on trend, very quick on trends

Also knows who what the people want to see

Ukai Kenshin

Runs his mother's store but spreads the word about the hair salon.

His grandfather started hair salon, and when his dad married, his dad didn't realise that tending to the farm would be incredibly demanding and it was impossible to hold on to both businesses.

The hair salon went to his uncle for a while until he fell ill.

Somehow it fell into the hands of the Takeda family.

Completely entrusts it to the new team to run it.

Is very fond of the new team.

Takeda Ittetsu

He grew up going to the hair salon.

His grandfather used to hang out there with Ukai Sr. all the time.

They'd sit outside and have a smoke, next to lil Takeda who would be doing his homework.

Has many good memories with his grandfather at that hair salon.

So when it was struggling, he struck a deal to run it instead.

Now he's out building opportunities for them, getting them signed on with new businesses and partnerships.

He has a meeting with Shiseido next week.

hey who's ready for another stupidly long post but this time its about the goth kids??? ii think lets start off with Michael i do not see a lot of fanart or acknowledgements of him being wasian then again im not sure i'm too deep into the goth kid side of the fandom for that so my apologies if im wrong here.. but on that note he is wasian, we do see his dad with curly hair but i think it's much funnier that 1. he either gets a perm or 2. he wakes up extra early to curl it every morning. to me he is 100% trad goth, the fits, the makeup all of it. I think maybe he leans more into 1980s trad goth, and his make-up wouldn't be as extravagant as some trad goth makeup if that makes sense?? not as heavy. i think he'd thrift a lot of pieces, it's the best place to find those old vintage outfits, good for cheap trench coats which is a STAPLE in his wardrobe. Definitely shoulder pads and going for that sort of triangular silhouette. i know he's listed as edwardian gothic in his wiki but i just feel like... 1980s trad trust me wink face. Going next to Pete his outfit is a little fancier just going based of the bolo tie because um... so i'm kind of swapping the fashion here and saying Pete kind of leans into a more victorian kind of goth, once again maybe less fanciful seeing as he's only 10 or however old a fourth grader is. More button-ups with frilly sleeves and like frilly necklines, like a vampire but dont you dare. ever EVERR imply his fashion is vampiric. I do, like all of the other kids, believe he does take a lot of fashion from trad goth though of course. I think he already wears platforms?? I'm not sure whats going on with his shoes but i think he wears them eitherway. Big teased hair, always looks like he's mildly balding when roots come in but it's not as bad as it would be if he was blonde. Henrietta im so avoiding firkle... ANYWAY!!! Henrietta, trad goth makeup BUT i think she'd lean more into romantic goth fashion, big sleeves and long dresses with lots of jewlery. She has that pretty extravagant trad goth makeup that Michael doesn't do, white base heavy eyeliner (this is despite her character being the only one to actually not wear eyeliner..) but you know!! the works!! we already see her with colored lipstick so i think she'd continue to use the funky colors on her lips. Henrietta for sure rocks a bats nest and soo so much of that got2b hairspray, like that is STAYING in place. not budging at all. firkle... i know he's considered to be the most goth out of them but he's also like 5 years old??? I don't know if he'd really delve too deep into any category BUT trad goth. A much more casual approach to it though becauese again he's 5!!!!!!! he probably uses his moms makeup and has like eyeshadow on his lips. Either that or he got one of henriettas old purple lipsticks. his PC design is definetely way more hardcore, like full of tattoos and piercings so i like to believe he constantly rocks fake tattoos and like those little glue-on balls.. that'd be cute. I'm not so sure it'd be easy to thrift trad goth clothes for little little kids so i'm guessing he has a lot of like normal looking clothes that are just black or got onesof his parents to do diy stuff. dont know but he's probably the coolest kindergartner in the world. absolutely gives himself stick and pokes and piercings in the school bathroom. im more scene myself but have really been getting into 1980s trad goth lately and have always been in the goth space .. maybe I AM firkle

He's got a squeaker in him though (cause, you know, dog toy) but honestly, probably 100% the actual sound he'd make if you squeezed him too hard lmao. Slugcats are incredibly comfy to draw when my brain is fried. Please enjoy them all

Also below's a bunch (aka a paragraph for each how'd that happen) of headcanons and thoughts about my designs because the brain rot hasn't really stopped

Survivor

The most average slugcat to ever slugcat. So instead I'll say that I decided to give the slugcats whiskers (that are probably closer to barbels on fish or the sensory tentacles on slugs). Also I know they're probably slimy in canon but nothing can stop me from giving them fluff. I like to think that slugcats are prone to weird mutations that lead to a very varied species and makes them easy to purpose.

Monk

Monk is about as average as Survivor except being a little smaller than usual for their age. I don't have many strong headcanons in the way of gender for these guys but I like to think of Survivor and Monk as big sister and little brother to parallel Moon and Pebbles in a way.

Hunter

Just having the absolute worst time. Any wounds Hunter receives quickly rot and stop healing and they are pretty much always in pain. When it gets really bad the rot cysts and tentacles begin to grow and sometimes attempt to eat Hunter themself. They know that it was No Significant Harassment's mistake that led them to getting the rot but aren't really mad about it. They just have a sort of a tired and somewhat grumpy “it is how it is” kind of attitude about pretty much everything.

Gourmand

Gourmand is from the same clan as Survivor and Monk and so is also fairly average, their standout traits being their height, size, and intelligence. Their also a little fluffier than average for maximum comfy hugging potential. Well respected in their clan and considered a legend of sorts for their journey into Five Pebble's facility grounds.

Artificer

Artificer's explosive abilities and abnormally large size are due to a combo of weird mutations and diet. The dark red marks are a mix of dried blood, scar tissue, and general explosive damage. She has damaged her hearing via explosions, has one working eye, and blown off most of her whiskers. She is practically running blind and is literally too angry to die. Fluffy but rough and course and just awful to hug at this point.

Spearmaster

Spearmaster has spines growing all along their back, but only the ones of its tail are strong and thick enough to use as spears. Their whiskers are also thinner and more similar to their spines (or cat whiskers in a way). Their ears are also cropped (like a dog's) and Seven Red Suns gave them a small coat to distinguish them as a messenger. Underneath on their chest is a small scar that marks the pearl's location (that is very quickly a big scar once Pebbles commits the worst surgery in Rain World history).

Rivulet

Rivulet is from a subspecies of semi-aquatic slugcats with increased lung capacity, seal-like fur, and a tail fin for steering underwater. Their whiskers have taken the appearance of gills. While useless for breathing underwater, they mimic salamanders in an attempt to confuse and scare off predators. Rivulet is an adventurer who left their clan to explore distant lands and keeps finding themself in trouble.

Saint

Incredibly fluffy to adapt to the cold but pretty skinny and frail underneath. Their tongue is rough like a cats (so are all slugcats but Saint stands out). As their karma grows, echo scales begin to appear along their body and they subtly glow and distort the close surrounding environment. Saint is just really uncanny to be around.
