7 Things I've Learned In 2022:
God is still in control.
Christ is still King.
The Spirit is still within me.
The church is still essential.
Satan is still deceiving.
The gospel is still saving.
Glory is still coming!
And these things are just as true in 2023. 🙂 Amen! 🙌

very real very canon information about Peter strahm that was revealed to me through psychic visions->
Peter loves collecting vinyl, especially divorced dad rock bands and is an absolute asshole about people's music tastes. Like the kind of guy who only asks you who you listen to so he can immediately insult the band. Unironally asks the "name five of their albums" question to fans. Gets extremely snarky about the digital v vinyl debate.
Mark creates a new hobby where he'll wait for a lull in conversation before saying he thinks one direction has had a bigger cultural impact than pink Floyd so he can watch Peter try and drive the car directly into a tree

Jesus Makes Us Into His Followers
34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? 37 For what can a man give in return for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” — Mark 8:34-38 | English Standard Version (ESV) The Holy Bible, English Standard Version.

Quiet Time 3/14
What am I feeling today?
Absolutely terrible. I’ve been sick for over a week now and it’s just gotten worse. I haven’t been able to sleep and I’ve lost my voice and I had to miss school and work for two days and I’m not looking forward to having to make all that work up. I also neglected my time with God, I decided to go to other things for comfort during this time instead of turning to Him which has been weighing on me. I feel like a failure since I’ve strayed from my routine. I’ve been wasting away in my bed for a couple days now and I know that technically my body needs the rest, but I feel so useless when I’m not doing anything productive.
Luke 8 NIV
(v. 11-15) ““This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”
I will be honest in saying that this parable troubles me at times. I wonder if I’m the rocky soil or the one with thorns. It’s always been something that has bothered me because I don’t want that to be the case. I know I was so joyful when I received my salvation but even with such short time, I’ve struggled and weakened. I wonder if it’s that my faith is wavering or if I’m just experiencing the spiritual desert, I don’t understand how to discern the difference between the two. Maybe the world is also killing my walk, I have so much that I commit myself to that every day I wake up and feel it’s a battle to get through it all. And I’m tired. I’m so young but I’m just so so tired by life, I’m drained, I’m exhausted, I’m deflated, I’m drained, and I just wish I could escape from it all sometimes. I’m tired of fighting but every day I have to keep praying to God to give me the strength. If it weren’t for Him, I’d never be able to keep going through it.
(v. 17-18) “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.””
Just further reinforcing that He knows all we do and that there’s no hiding anything from Him. How foolish would we be if we thought we could conceal some of our sins? Something I’m currently battling is idolatry in a few areas. I know that it’s empty and that the feeling fades and it’s a sin and everything else but I’m having a hard time shaking it. If God needs to destroy it then so be it because I don’t know how to do it myself. Idk I think I’m just having a hard time and feel stuck and trapped in my own skin if that makes sense. I can’t shake the feeling of me existing and it’s bothering me so much.
(v. 24-25) “The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.””
I think this is something that applies to every trial of our lives. The disciples were scared and worried and Jesus had to ask where’s the faith. I think he asks the same of us when we go through tough times and don’t fully rely on him. I think he may be asking me that right now because my anxiety gnaws at me like a dog with a bone and it’s so hard to take it away.
(v. 30-31) “Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “Legion,” he replied, because many demons had gone into him. And they begged Jesus repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss.”
I just wonder about the Abyss. That struck my interest because I wonder if it’s just hell, a part of hell, or something else entirely.
(v. 47-48) “Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.””
I just think this is comforting. She had faith so strong that just by touching Jesus she was healed. How incredible is that? How inspiring is it? Our faith is a powerful thing and something we should not treat lightly. I wish to continue growing my faith, I wish to be the good soil.

𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐆𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐥
Monday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time
Mk 2:18-22
The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were accustomed to fast.
People came to Jesus and objected,
“Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast,
but your disciples do not fast?”
Jesus answered them,
“Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?
As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them,
and then they will fast on that day.
No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth on an old cloak.
If he does, its fullness pulls away,
the new from the old, and the tear gets worse.
Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins.
Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins,
and both the wine and the skins are ruined.
Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins.”

Now I Want to Watch
Tumblr media
I watched the Paper Girls trailer before sending it to a work friend as part of my campaign to get her to watch the show. Now I want to rewatch Paper Girls myself.
(The friend says she's going to check it out, by the way, so my mission was a success.)

I have one more post drafted for Thursday, but after that, I will be taking some time off. During this time, I'm going to be writing to my local representatives and demanding a cease-fire. I'm going to be attempting to find protests in my area that I can join, participating in marches, anything I can, and I'd encourage all who can to do the same.
Do not stop talking about Palestine. Do not let zionazis scare you into silence with laws and threats. The people of Palestine can not afford our silence.
I love you all, and I pray that Lord Satan smiles upon us as we continue fighting the good fight.
Ave Satanas.

Quiet Time 3/4
What am I feeling today?
Sick/pain, my throat hurts even more today, I can’t really swallow, looks red and swollen, I’ll be going to the doctor after I spend this time with God. I’m also feeling confused, conflicted, hopeful??? bc of smth that happened yesterday and some dreams I had too, just not sure how to interpret it🧍🏻‍♀️
Luke 6 NIV
(v. 1-5) “One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and his disciples began to pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels. Some of the Pharisees asked, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” Jesus answered them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.” Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.””
Jesus was making it known that he and his disciples were not guilty of violating the Sabbath (just some of the rules that the Pharisees had come up with). Also, he staked his claim of his power, that he’s Lord even on the Sabbath.
(v. 12-16) “One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles: Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.”
I love when the Bible shows us just how much Jesus prayed. Even though he was powerful and righteous, he still felt the need to talk to God the Father consistently because Jesus was also human. Also, I don’t think I ever took into account that Jesus had more disciples but chose these twelve out of them to be the apostles.
(v. 22-23) “Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.”
Good reminder to have, sometimes I can get in my head about rejection when it comes to sharing with other people, I can lack boldness and courage because of fear. But why should I fear that? We are told to rejoice and be joyful!!
(v. 27-31) ““But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
When I was younger, I always thought that the term to turn the other cheek was to strike them back. Upon looking at other versions, I’m seeing it means to offer the other cheek (basically, to simply ignore insignificant insults or losses and do not bother to retaliate—maintain your dignity). I do wonder if there’s a difference between what Jesus is saying here and allowing people to walk all over you and treat you however they please?
(v. 35-36) “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”
One, I feel like the motivation behind doing good shouldn’t be an incentive but because you genuinely desire to do what’s right. But it also shows here that in doing what’s kind and righteous, our reward will be great.
(v. 37-38) ““Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you…””
I need to work on judgement. I know that I can be quite judgmental, questioning people’s motives/intentions, how they operate, how they treat me or others. But I do understand that I need to refrain from judgment because what about me? I am no better, I am a sinner, I’m not perfect. How can I judge others when I’m no better than them?
(v. 39-42) “He also told them this parable: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit? The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
I don’t wish to be a hypocrite. This is also part of being held accountable, sometimes we’re oblivious to the sin we’re in and need the help of others. But also, if we struggle ourselves, and give the same advice to others but don’t follow, we’re being hypocrites.
(v. 45) “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”
This really sticks out to me, the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Kinda like the saying drunk words are sober thoughts. Whatever we end up saying is coming from somewhere inside. We need to analyze whether it’s righteous or sinful. If sinful, need to further examine our hearts and where it’s coming from.
(v. 46-49) ““Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.””
I want to have a strong foundation. I like to believe that I follow relatively well but there are other times when I doubt whatever I do. It’s this frustrating up and down and I just wish I knew what the right thing to do was every time and actually obeyed it.
