One Shot 3, from my story "The Polar Star" TFP
(Idea and request of Wondering)
Miko, Raf and Jack were at the base, sleeping in their safe place, in the main room. It was now late, but the children had insisted on staying. Optimus had been a little reluctant at first, worried about what the parents might say.
But the trio had argued that they would come up with a good excuse, which they managed to do. The pyjama party was always an effective excuse. The base was quiet, while everyone was asleep, when the Japanese girl heard a noise.
The young girl sat down on her makeshift mattress, and yawned, rubbing her eyes. She was then much more awake when she saw a large shadow not far from her, and screamed before throwing a metal bar that was lying next to her!
Miko then heard a cry of pain, and the tall shadow exclaim:
"Ah ! Frag!"
The Japanese girl had a moment of hesitation, before deciding to turn on the light, waking the boys in the process, and revealing that the shadow was none other than Starscream.
The Seeker massaged his helmet with pain, and hissed:
"Frag… It hurts…!"
He turned to the young girl and growled discreetly:
"Are you crazy…?!
- You're the one who's crazy wandering around the base like that in the middle of the night…! Miko replied.
-Shut up!" Jack growled, throwing his cushion into the Japanese girl's head.
Raf sat down on his mattress, his eyes half-closed, then put on his glasses. He then saw the girl send the cousin back to the teen, before she turned to the flyer.
"What are you doing here ? Why don't you sleep with Skyfire?
- … It's none of your business… Starscream answered.
- You scared the crap out of me, I'm telling you! I think that on the contrary I deserve to know!
- *Sigh*…! I can't sleep, that's all…! And since I don't like to stay idle, I told myself that I would just have to come to the main room. See if there is any unfinished work...
- Instead of adding work to yourself, you should rather think about resting.
- What didn't you understand when I told you that I couldn't sleep?
- But you-
- Miko, leave it, he's having insomnia, that's all. Jack intervened. Although, I must admit that I am surprised. I didn't think Transformers could have insomnia.
- Well, now you know it's possible. growled the flyer.
- Yeah, well now we're awake too! Miko exclaimed.
- Less loud… the teenager scolded discreetly.
- Oops, yeah.
- Well, you allow me, I'm going to work. Starscream sighed.
- But... No… !
- *Sigh*… What else do you want me to do…? I have nothing to do, and I'm bored...
- There are many other ways than work to keep busy!
- … Like what?"
There was a silence, before the Japanese girl claps her hands lightly, and smiles:
"Oh ! I know ! We just have to watch a movie!
- Oh no! No way! strongly opposed the Seeker.
- Eh?! Why not?!
- Because if it's another trick to make fun of me, like with Kiki's Delivery Service, I refuse…!
- So, first, that day we didn't do it on purpose! And, two, it's a classic that I've wanted to show you for a really long time! You absolutely have to see it! I'm sure you'll love it!
- …
- Please…!
- … No-
- Please…! Please…! Please…! Please…! Please!
- *Sigh*! Fine...! OK…!
- Awesome!"
The girl rushed to the TV, and pulled out a CD from her school bag. The boys noticed it was the Titanic , and agreed that it was a classic that the jet have to see.
The Japanese girl installed everything quickly, and turned off the light, to create a better atmosphere. She gestured for Starscream to sit down, which he did, after a moment's hesitation.
Miko's gaze was so radiant that the Seeker just didn't have the courage to say no to her...
The film began, and the Japanese girl was happy to note that the jet made at least the effort to be concentrated on the film. She noticed then that the flyer didn't seem comfortable, when the scene started to take place in the past, and that Rose was weighed down by the expectations of society, and of the forced marriage.
The young girl couldn't really understand, but she noticed that it seemed to make him react. Then came the scene of Jack's rescue of Rose, when he manages to get Rose back on the boat. Then, the arrival of the sailors who arrested Jack.
“Wait, pause." said Starscream.
Miko pressed the remote, and the children turned to the Seeker, as the latter flapped his wings in confusion.
“Why are they arresting him, he just saved 'Rousse'.
- So, first, it's 'Rose', not 'Rousse'. corrected the Japanese girl.
- Your names are complicated.
- No more than "Starscream"...
- You still haven't answered my question…!
- Well, because they think Jack was just trying to take advantage of Rose. replied the teen.
- … Take advantage what of Rose…?
- But of her body…
- Wait, I know. the girl intervened. Basically, they think he tried to forcibly conjux her.
- Oh! understood the Seeker. Hold on! What?! But… How could they come to such a conclusion?!
- Well, don't quibble about that… It's okay…
-…”
The jet pouted, and crossed his arms, frowning, now looking rather angry at the situation unfolding in the movie. Fortunately, things ended up settling quickly in the story, which made the flyer then more relaxed.
There was time, until dinner with Rose's family, to thank Jack for the rescue. Starscream scowled again, and Miko sincerely began to wonder if she had chosen the right movie after all...
The Seeker seemed to get angry or frown whenever there was a scene with high society, and the Japanese girl wondered why. She couldn't concentrate on the movie, as she couldn't help noticing each of the jet's reactions.
He would go from an angry or chagrined expression, causing his wings to be in a low, tight position most of the time. The young girl sighed quietly, as she noticed that the flyer didn't seem to like the film.
Then came the implied love scene, and Miko couldn't help but giggle lightly, seeing Starscream's deeply confused expression. It gave him a pretty cute, almost childish innocent side.
Then there was the scene with the iceberg colliding, and the Seeker jumped in surprise. He kinda expected it, thanks to the prologue, but he didn't think it would be so abrupt.
Then there was the flying accusation against Jack, and the children then heard the jet slap his wings between eachother, and had a deeply angry expression.
The adventure continued on the ship. And while one could criticize Rose's behavior, in her desire not to abandon Jack, the flyer did not do it once.
Starscream frowned at Cal's behavior, which he already couldn't stand since the beginning of the film. And when he saw him take a child to pass himself off as his father, it was too much, and he exclaimed:
"What ?! No, but it's a joke!!"
The teen motioned to the Seeker to be more discreet, which the latter did. But that didn't stop him from grumbling, and Miko clearly heard the jet say that "Kal was just a dirty fragger!"
Then came the sinking, and the scene in the frozen waters with Jack and Rose. The Japanese girl noticed that the jet had low wings as Rose promised Jack to stay alive. And his expression was downright devastated when he saw Jack freezing to death, and sinking into the icy waters of the Atlantic.
They couldn't finish the movie, as Starscream burst into tears, as the children looked on in shock. Miko turned off the TV, and turned on the light, before advancing towards the Seeker, then saying:
“Hey, it's okay… It's just a movie…
- No! It's not okay...! cried the jet. Why did you show me that…?!"
The trio looked at each other in confusion, really not expecting the flyer to be so affected by Jack's death.
“Scream… started the Japanese girl.
- First these kinds of absurd social classes…! Then, a forbidden love! The promise to stay alive! And the death of one in the ice…?! Frag! I felt like I was watching my life the whole way through your stupid movie!!" exclaimed the flyer.
The children then realized their terrible mistake, and understood that indeed there were certain points in which Starscream was perhaps a little too recognized.
That's when they heard a noise, and saw Skyfire coming quickly into the room, with a worried expression.
The Seeker soon jumped into his arms, and the shuttle gently consoled him, asking:
"What is happening… ? Why are you crying… ?
- They laughed at me again! With one of their stupid movie! the jet sobbed, pointing an accusing finger at the trio.
- No! No! It was not our intention at all…!" the girl exclaimed.
All that screaming finally woke everyone up, and they wanted a lot of explanations when they saw Starscream and Miko arguing like Sparklings.
Everyone finally calmed down, and Optimus suggested that they watch a movie together. The Seeker was of course reluctant at first, but Skyfire encouraged him to agree, telling him he shouldn't stay on such a negative note.
Finaly the group gathered in front of the big screen at the base, so everyone could see, and they decided to watch The Jungle Book.
