Let's jazz things up a little....
BRING OUT YOUR SALT LET'S GOOOOOOOO 🧂👀👀👀
(Yes, I included some popular/beloved sequels here, not because I dislike them - hell, I downright love a couple! - but because these are literally ALL of the "Disney Princess" sequels that came out in the 90s and early 2000s. Don't @ me, just have fun voting lol)
Disclaimer: With these sequel polls, I will NOT include ones from the Walt Disney Animation Studios, which are as of June 1, 2023: The Rescuers Down Under, Fantasia 2000, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Frozen 2.
Have fun voting and try not to start any fights over your personal faves! 😘

Headcanon fanfiction merformer cryptid Rung/reader
@auntabysmal
1 PART (I divided  fic into parts)
- The reader is a fem human
- I leave the city names blank so you can imagine the meeting places for yourself.
----
Their first meeting and acquaintance took place on the shore (Name of the resort town).
The LL pod stopped in this city, and so far they had been here for three days. There is always room at the Aquatic Research and Rescue Center for the mers, and most of them sailed there to rest, only sending their holoforms there to scout out a human settlement. The rest settled on the beach area reserved for them, immediately finding various caves and flat low rocks and settling there.
Rung, who was in the rest of the group, crawled almost halfway out of the water onto dry land, with a caught fish in his teeth. He was going to have a good rest and lunch. The sun was warming his long orange and white body, and his tail was still in the water, just in case the wind was too dry - he could easily splash water into himself with his tail.
- FISH!
The merformer had finished his meal before he heard someone else's scream. Licking the remains off myself of his lunch, Rung looked around, thinking someone was asking for his prey, and saw nearby a human, looking right at him.
As he approached, it turned out to be a land puppy. The human puppy waved cheerfully at him with his little hand and was already walking toward him. Rung himself was in no hurry to leave the warm place, watching the child, only waving his palm back excitedly and uncertainly. In a way, his invisibility could ironically be called avoidance of the land people, while the rest of his congeners leave their places so that no one will bother them.
Of all possible human beings, he can be seen by children. He still couldn't get used to it.
- Hello big mermaid, what are you doing here?
The child stood beside me, looking at Rung with a smile. Like all human children, his gaze did not linger long on someone else's physical form, immediately looking around, sitting down next to the unknown creature. The toddler held a bucket in his hands, immediately taking to building sand castles. He was in his home clothes and had not yet changed into his little bathing suit. He had a panama hat on his head.
- What's a human puppy doing in "mermaid territory"? You're not allowed in here, are you? I don't know if your parents will scold you. Maybe they're already looking for you
Rung did not correct the child, playing along with him on the first word. The cryptid merformer lay his chest on the sand, so as not to tower over the little man too much, and show his peacefulness. Why are children always drawn to him?
The child squeaked resentfully, grabbed his panama and patted Rung's arm with it. Would have hit the creature with the bucket, but didn't want to ruin the sand mound, the merformer himself, chuckling quietly, found the fluffy hair braided into cute pigtails.
- I am not a puppy!!! I am a human being!!! My name is Y/N. My mom knows where I went...I guess.
The little girl showed him her tongue, aghast as the wind snatched the panama out of her fingers. Rung managed to grab the flying little hat in time to return it to the child. Y/N was visibly embarrassed and hid her face in it.
Rung smiles at the child's emotions and introduces himself in return. He hadn't planned on meeting people in any way, of course, but even this interaction was pleasant. He asks permission to touch her hair, and after her affirmative answer, he lowers his head further and pokes his nose lightly into her small shoulder while his large hand, compared to hers, touches the fluffy plaits. Human hair really is unusual to the touch.
After a moment, he feels a reciprocal touch, against his face. He looks at the girl - her eyes wide open, she doesn't look away from him, her hands touching his glasses, going down to his cheeks stroking them. Rung lets out a rumbling sound under the human happy smile, and swishes his tail to splash some water on his body. A couple of drops hit the Y/N, but she doesn't resent it
****
When two voices call out Y/N's name, a little girl sits on the sand and builds sandcastles under Rung supervision. They both turn at the sound, and the little girl gets up from the sand with a sigh, appraising her creation. She waves to the two human behind the merformer territory line, and they spot her, look around, and walk toward her across the strange stretch of beach.
- Will we meet again, Mr. Rung?
The Merformer meets a naïve look, to which he only smiles, shrugging uncertainly. He doesn't know the answer himself; he won't tell her it's all down to her memory. But the little man seemed pleased with that answer anyway.
He watches as the family gathers, the adults looking through him as usual as the child tells them about the "new friend of Rung" and points in his direction. Parents only sigh, gently scolding the child for entering someone else's territory, where people should not be.
When they leave, Rung returns in the water to hunt again.
The second time they crossed paths (Name of Town).
Several people gathered on the high pier because they saw dolphins swimming by. But they especially made delighted noises when they spotted the merformers.
The humans were smart enough not to jump in the water to the sea creatures, who decided to look at them themselves. But the sea creatures were close enough, and it was as if they were flaunting themselves in front of the crowd on purpose. Merformers usually avoid humans, but that's until the creatures decide to communicate themselves.
Rung looked out of the water to see the whole circus. Rodimus, as always, attracted attention by the way he splashed in the water. The rest of the merformers swam quietly at a good distance from the humans, and from him, So they don't get hit by his tail.
- The merformers are so cool! Y/N, come here and look at them!
Ears fins Rung twitched as he heard the rather familiar name. Adjusting his glasses, the cryptid-merformer carefully looks at the pier and sees two young men, one of whom called out to a rather familiar girl. He swam closer, looked closer, and saw a pendant hanging around the human neck. He recognized it immediately. Y/N hasn't gotten rid of it after all these years.
He looked at her more closely and realized that she had grown up and was not at all like the child who had kept him company for so many days, a few years ago. Except now she couldn't see him anymore.
Her wandering, curious gaze fell on him, and Rung had a blind hope that she would be able to see him. No, her eyes and brain can't recognize and distinguish Rung's figure, so she was immediately distracted by something else.
The girl herself was twirling the pendant in her fingers, looking curiously at the Merformers. Her eyes kept falling on the object in her hands, Y/N frowned as if trying to remember something. Something seemed vaguely familiar to her.
Her thoughts are interrupted when Rodimus finishes his games and calls his crew to continue their journey. The people look at the merformers for a little while longer, and leave the dock to go about their business.
Rung watches as Y/N hides in the crowd with his friend, and then catches up with his pod himself.
Their second meeting is over before it begins.

Postwoman au (Part 4)
N/A: This all AU begins thanks to a cute comic of a postwoman sending letters to mermaids. So...we´ll get some action here. Also, I think Kitty and Krampus will have more time to bond and for Kitty to feel comfortable with him...like in Model verse. Well, here we go.
@dannybagpipesarecalling @djinmer4 @bamfoftheundead @muninandhugin
Getting the hangs up of any new job is something one takes time-yes, time is a bit relative, some bosses expect you to follow the flow of the company since yesterday and show no compassion, except, platitudes towards new workers- and even in a society where magical creatures, mutants, and humans can co-exist in peace. The only truth that is irrevocable is how society still works in a capitalist mindset. And the magic community is no different. Kitty arrives for her new day working for Krampus. The succubus secretary now is bestowing a more sporty look- too similar to that famous feminine soccer player everyone seems crazy about it- and has no regard for Kitty.
"Still room 23," she says without care or looking into Kitty´s eyes. Kitty can label her as rude. "Go, I´ve things to do" and Kitty will be glad to go but if she can confront a Krampus, well, she can confront a rude secretary.
"Look, I get you may not like humans. But I´m working here now...can you try to be less bitchy with me?"
"No, darling...I´m bitchy. And I´m even more bitchy because my last date turns out in failure. The man wanted to date the real one" she points at her looks "instead of me...and the rules prevented me to do anything against him"
"And...are you hungry?"
"No, just salty. And don´t worry, if I was hungry. Santa and Krampus wouldn´t let me in...I have my fill don´t worry. But my ego on the other hand..." and well, that´s enough of personal information.
"Well, even so. Don´t snap at me. I´ve nothing to do with your problems...got it?" she said looking at the succubus´s eyes firm and the creature shurgs off now doing her nails.
Well, at least, she´s not planning to eat me.
And with that Kitty uses her key and is now in room 23. All the while she wonders if she is respected here- "Am I a pet human or I really work here?"- and Krampus is there. In his desk folding some papers and now his golden eyes meet with her brown one. "I can feel your questions...Kitty, ask away then" and she has no time to fear- truth to be told, she fears but is too brash to let the fear sink in- and without further ado. She makes her questions.
"How do you know a person truly deserves to be punished? Yes, you show me...there´re bad children out there" Kitty amends before she was forced to see those crimes again. Sometimes, children can be needlessly cruel and Kitty doesn´t want to face that.
Krampus snaps his finger and a mini-version of himself bamf into the desk. Kitty would find the creature cute if it wasn´t by the fact this creature works for Krampus. The little creature is gazing at Kitty-titling his head and speaking Bamf as its only word for communication- and is waving his tail.
"They do the job for me. They´re my eyes. So to speak. They´re called Bamfs" he looks amused either at the said bamf or to the fact Kitty is caressing the said bamf´s head. -gingerly touches. His fur is like velvet and Kitty has to wonder if anything if Krampus´s fur is really soft as the bamf- and she speaks again. "Ok. They spy for you. But...still, errors can happen"
"Not in my profession. Not on my job. You see, I have more eyes than you can imagine. Wind spirits, faes, and sometimes even Gods keep me update on who is naughty and who isn´t. Also, sometimes, a person is naughty but I can´t interfere"
"Why?" and Kurt/Krampus come closer and has a sort of malicious glee in his eyes. "Me and Santa are your bosses. But we have our bosses as well...and sometimes, mortals are punished by them...and trust me, they´re way worse than me" and Kitty won´t back down.
"Ok, what´s the point of your torture? I mean, you´d not seem a sadistic type" Krampus is somewhat amused by this line. "if you were, you would have tortured me a long time ago. So, you aren´t torturing people just because..."
"True, I´d torture people and give the chance of them to change. Remember Katzchen" he drawled out. "I´m responsible for revenge. I seek out those who committed terrible deeds. I´m not after innocents"
"And how many people have changed after, uhm, everything?"
"20% of them. Some can change. Some humans have the chance to turn the new page and be a better version of themselves...while others...will rather die than admit faults"
"What if you try to take someone who is close to me?"
"I wouldn´t" and Kitty thinks is because some contract or law established. "All your friends have a pure soul and are sinless. I have no reason to go after any of your friends, family, and even some people you see daily. They all are good souls Kitty...just like you" he concludes. Those words sink in.
"I´ll not kill for you" not a question. A fact. Krampus is not bothered by that.
"You´re not here to help torture others nor to kill. So, of course, I wouldn´t ever ask this to you. Anything else?"
"Why Galaticus indicated me?"
"Ok, that I can´t answer. Look, he never did that in the past. If he indicated you...he has his reasons. I can feel you´re afraid. I´m a bit afraid too...again, Galaticus never indicated anyone..." the man swallows hard and now the bamf is cuddling with him. "this is new to me too"
Oh...I never thought about this angle.
"So, since we´re working together...let´s get along. This is new to us, but, we´re here now" Kitty concludes and maybe her curiosity is satiated for now.
(Not really. She has no idea what Krampus is. And she is not sure if she can just ask this to him- wouldn´t that be rude?- she vouches to do some research more deep research about her boss)
"Do you have more questions?"
"For now? No" and Krampus seems more amused- too extrovert. Not what some movies portray him to be- "I have a mission for you. Say, do you know about the Little mermaid?" and before Kitty can answer. "Not the Disney version"
"Yes, a very depressing story" Kitty interjected. "Why?"
"Well, I have something I need you to deliver to the sea witch" and with a snap of his fingers a purple box materialized in his desk. "I need you to return this to the witch. She made me a favor a couple of years ago...and I´m now paying" and Kitty looks between the box and her boss.
"Krampus, I can´t breathe underwater"
"I know...do you know Neverland?"Krampus asked grinning. And Kitty is quick to quips.
"Isn´t that place where Peter Pan lives? The man is facing some big sues and did some serious crimes" and she eyes Krampus who only shurgs in response. "Not every crime is dealt with me, Kitty, and yes...he did those crimes, but, anyway...the Sea Witch likes to hang out in the lakes of Neverland with all her entourage of mermaids." and if Kitty thought this would be an aquatic adventure. She´s wrong.
"And how is the Sea Witch? I mean, how she looks like?...I´m guessing she´s not like Disney"
"Correct and don´t mention that version to her. She hates it. Her name is Ursula, by the way, but, even if you didn´t know her name...she has two different colors in her eyes. One is green and the other is blue. That´s the signal of a Sea Witch" and adds just to make his point come across. "And is really, really rare. She´s not happy that Disney made her a villain or made her ugly...her words, not mine. She´s one of the prettiest mermaids in the court and has magic"
"Will she sue Disney?"
"She has magic but she´s not that powerful"
"Ok, not going ask what´s inside"
"Well..."
"I SAID I´LL NOT ASK WHAT´S INSIDE"
And using her key she´s gone. Krampus almost pouts. He was looking forward to sharing this story with someone.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Neverland is just like Kitty imagined. And the mermaids are just like Kitty imagined to be. Pretty ladies -unashamed of everything else. Tits out. No shame- and as Krampus mentioned, it was easy to located Ursula- what Kitty has to deal is to talk with pretty ladies and deliver the box. No big deal. She can do it.
I can do it. I can do it.
Stepping on the rocks in the pond where the mermaids are Kitty speaks. "I´m working for Krampus...he has a delivery to you" and shows the box and Ursula grins wide and the mermaids- who may or may not have thought in prank Kitty. Now, change their sentiments to be more friendly- and Ursula hugs the box as if her life depends on it.
Kitty does not wish to know what is inside.
"Thank you. I was waiting for this for a long time. Please, let me reward you" and the mermaids took her cue and are making a necklace to Kitty- a token of their gratitude. If Ursula is happy. They´re happy too- and once-promising is just a necklace and not a curse ("dear, cursed necklace are out fashion years ago")- Kitty accepts the necklace (seashells and aquatic flowers she never heard before) and manages to talk with the mermaids.
"Now that Peter is arrested. We rule Neverland...and those pirates hate that"
"And the animals?"
"Ah, the unicorns don´t care...as long we don´t bother them"
And now the box is delivered and Kitty has a good relationship with the mermaids("come to visit us, Kitty, we can talk more") Kitty uses the key to return.
________________________________________________________________________________________
Happy hour with the boss was never something Kitty was counting, but, alas her boss wanted to take her out to celebrate ("the mermaids don´t like messengers so easily") and offers to take her to a nice coffee shop- once she made clear she doesn´t like go to clubs- and Kitty is wondering if Krampus works in the law of the fae.
"Uhm, Krampus..."
"Kurt, my name is Kurt...and we´re outside the working place. You can call me Kurt...well, you can call me Kurt anytime you want. Call me Krampus is just as if I call you human"
Oh, he has a point.
"Ok, Kurt"
"Say, Kitty, I have some question for you" and Kitty decides to buy her coffee and cupcake before he could do it. Even if he´s not a fae...she doesn´t like men to pay for her stuff.
"Ok"
"Are you married?"
"Not sure how this has to do with anything...but, my first boyfriend propose to me. I rejected him. I´m not interested in marrying"
"Kitty, what you wanted to do with your life?"
"Live well"
"Do you fear me?"
"A little...but I think is all because how new this is to me"
And Krampus smiles.
"Think we can be friends?"
"Maybe? I´m too introvert, you seem to extrovert but hey, some of my friends are extroverts..."

[NOTE: Like a dumbass I was, I accidentally deleted the original post of the Descendants Family Tree while I was updating it, so I’m posting this again. Please show as much love with this one as you did with the first by reblogging! Thanks!]
♔ ♕ - Disney’s Descendants - Family Tree  ♕ ♔
Note: I may update the chart once there are new characters that will be introduced in any upcoming books, movies, spin-offs, etc.
I made this chart so I can group the characters in their respective movies and whom they descended from. Most of the information I got was from Disney wiki. There are possible cases where some characters only adopt their children and raise them as single parents (hence the ??? at the opposite side of their name). If you know any other information that I have overlooked, please let me know.
There are some things I want to point out (and thoughts I had while making these charts) so here’s an explanation under the cut.
Beauty and the Beast
The fact that there are Descendants characters who are named exactly/closely similar like their parents really irritates me to no end. Like how lazy can Disney be anyway? But let’s be real though; Gaston would definitely name his sons after him because he’s that much of a narcissist. However in Descendants 2 and Rise of the Isle of the Lost, Gaston has a third son named Gil. This raises two questions: Does Gaston have any more kids other than these three? Do they share the same mother or not?
The Beast doesn’t have an official name according to his character wiki (although I was really tempted to type “Adam” since that name stuck with me out of nowhere throughout my entire childhood).
Tumblr media
Sleeping Beauty
I’m really curious as to who is Mal’s father (like seriously. As said from someone else in some other post, “WHO WAS BRAVE ENOUGH TO BANG MALEFICENT?!” which to be honest, sounds like a game show title. LOL). According to the novel, The Isle of the Lost, we definitely know for sure that he is human. When is he gonna make an appearance? Along with the other missing parents of the Rotten Four?
Snow White and the 7 Dwarves
We can see here that Evie and Snow White are stepsisters and Prince Florian is her brother-in-law.
I’m wondering if Snow White and Florian have any children yet at this time. If so, this would’ve make Evie an aunt. :D
Doug has 3 other cousins, Bashful Jr., Sleepy Jr. (both in School of Secrets), and Gordon (Return to the Isle of the Lost, chapter 43).
Aladdin
Two things are mentioned in The Isle of the Lost: Aladdin and Jasmine had a son named Aziz and Jay mentioned he has a cousin named Jade. Since Jafar has a twin sister named Nasira (who appeared in the video game Aladdin: Nasira’s Revenge) it would make perfect sense for him to have a niece.
Another thing mentioned in Rise of the Isle of the Lost, is that Aziz is the eldest son, implying that Aladdin and Jasmine may have more than one child.
In Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams, Jasmine has a cousin named Sharma who was a schoolteacher, but it wasn’t clear as to whether she’s her maternal or paternal cousin.
Genie is in a loving relationship with a female djinn named Eden on the show Aladdin: The Animated Series. With that much devotion to each other, I’d be pretty surprised if they don’t end up having a child together in the Descendants verse (unless Disney happens to overlook that fact as well. Just like everything else. -__-).
There’s also another unknown fact (not sure how many people know about this) that Aladdin has a canon father, Cassim, who appears in the movie Aladdin and the King of Thieves.
In the live-action Aladdin (2019) movie, Genie had 2 children with Jasmine’s former handmaiden, Dalia; a daughter named Lindy and a son named Barro. It seems that Genie’s other daughter, Jordan, doesn’t exist in this particular universe.
101 Dalmatians
“Who was brave enough to bang that crazy bitch, Cruella de Vil?” would’ve been added to the list of questions that will probably go unanswered. Although someone did pointed out that in the original novel of The Hundred and One Dalmatians, Cruella was married to a furrier but that detail was omitted in the Disney verse. (Discussion about that can be found here: 1 2 3 .)
There is official info on Cruella’s relatives, so her having a nephew named Diego seems plausible. I tried to fit them in with what space I had. Looking at it however, I’m pretty sure either Cecil B. de Vil is Diego’s father or Cruella has some other unknown sibling who is the parent of Diego.
Tumblr media
The Dalmatian puppies listed on the chart are the ones that Perdita and Pongo have naturally. The other 86 puppies are adopted (like hell I have the energy to name every single one of them LOL).
It has been confirmed that Carlos’s middle name is “Oscar”. Carlos Oscar de Vil.
Cinderella
Anastasia have just entered in a relationship with the local baker in the sequel Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True (he even made a small cameo at the end credits in Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time). I had a discussion with a few other friends that the baker might have went with Anastasia to the Isle willingly and if that’s not the case, then Anastasia might have had children with someone else (which made me sad to think about, since she and the baker seemed to genuinely love each other). I’m willing to bet that Anthony Tremaine (who appeared in The Isle of the Lost) is Anastasia’s son, if we are to follow the “first name alliteration rule” that applies to almost every Descendants character. He also seems to be Lady Tremaine’s only grandson.
In Descendants 2, Drizella has a daughter named Dizzy (another stupid name). Might appear to be her only child if we were to disregard the Isle of the Lost novel.
The novel doesn’t specify how many granddaughters Lady Tremaine has.
As we can see here, Chad Charming is cousins with Anthony and Dizzy.
There are questions whether Jane is either a full blooded fairy or a half blood. This post addresses that.
Mulan
The only thing I have to say about this is; I wonder if Shan Yu has a kid in this universe too? (Even though I don’t really agree that every single Disney character should bear a child.)
The Princess and The Frog
Tiana’s and Naveen’s child(ren) has got to exist somewhere.
I have this headcanon that Freddie was actually reborn from another life by the help of Dr. Facilier (or somewhere along the lines of being resurrected from the dead), but due to some complications from knowing the facts (i.e. magic can’t be used on the Isle and voodoo probably doesn’t work that way) that headcanon is pretty short lived.
Dr. Facilier happens to have another daughter named Celia who appears on Descendants 3.
Tangled
So I’m really confused as to who Rapunzel’s and Eugene’s daughter is. From the web series, “School of Secrets”, there’s a girl named Anxelin who was said to be Rapunzel’s daughter, yet in “Wicked World”, a girl named Ruby was also confirmed to be Rapunzel’s daughter. It’s still unknown whether or not they are sisters or if it’s the same character renamed.
Ginny Gothel is a character who appeared in The Isle of the Lost.
The Little Mermaid
Ariel is the first Disney princess to have a child in canon (The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea), so shouldn’t that count for something? But knowing Disney, they would probably throw in a redhead girl whose first name starts with “A” just to fit in with the criteria.  -___-  Either that or Melody would only be mentioned as the “older sister” of this girl.
In “School of Secrets”, Ariel has a niece, but it’s not clear as to which of her sisters is the mother of this girl.
In Descendants 2 and Rise Of The Isle Of The Lost, Ursula’s daughter, Uma, was introduced.
Ursula has a sister named Morgana (The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea). Morgana is often very jealous of Ursula because their mother always considered her to be her favorite daughter.
Tumblr media
Thanks to @auradone who pointed it out, there’s a musical that portrays Ursula and Triton as siblings. This means that Ursula (and Morgana) is Ariel’s aunt and Melody’s great aunt. Although to me it’s kind of confusing since they’re both a completely different species. (Honestly I’m not exactly on board with this story line since Ursula and Morgana’s mom was shown above. Definitely doesn’t seem like she’d be related to Triton.)
Tumblr media
Peter Pan
Before, I thought Harriet and CJ were the same person but the confusion was cleared in Rise of the Isle of the Lost that Harriet, Harry, and CJ are apparently siblings (oldest to youngest in that order). Still unsure as to whether or not they all came from the same mother.
I strongly disagree that Peter Pan would have any kids himself. He’s a child and will always be a child, so I highly doubt that he would take on the responsibility of being a parent. EVER. If Disney ever try to shove that bullshit under our nose, I will completely lose ALL faith that they’re going to put any effort into accuracy.
Mr. Smee had a son named Sammy in the 1st novel Isle of the Lost, but has 2 other sons in Descendants 3, Squeaky and Squirmy.
Tumblr media
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Thanks to @72crowe89 for reminding me that Phoebus and Esmeralda had a son together.
Quasimodo and Madellaine had a happy ending in The Hunchback of Notre Dame ll, so I’m pretty sure they have to get married at some point.
I guess since Frollo was so used to have Quasi as a personal slave (and so abusive towards him), he had to assign that same fate to his daughter (hence her job as the bell ringer at Dragon Hall, the school on the Isle). How sad…
Others
Again, who’s in charge of naming the kids of Disney characters when their “originality” is as dull as a brick?
Clayton has a sister named Lady Waltham who appeared in a spin-off TV show, The Legend of Tarzan.
Tumblr media
Alice’s sister doesn’t have an official name (it wasn’t even mentioned in the credits), but in a few sources, her name is Mathilda. I just went along with it, because it would look weird if I only put in a nameless sibling.
Pin? JUST PIN?!! THAT HAS GOT TO BE THE LAZIEST NAME EVER. They couldn’t even give him a legit Italian name that starts with a “P”? Are you serious right now?! I pray to God above, that better be just a nickname. This was mentioned in the second novel Return to the Isle of the Lost.
Yzma apparently has her own little family; her mother, Azma, and her two nephews, Zim and Zam, who all appeared in the TV show spin-off The Emperor’s New School. Yzma’s daughter, Yzla, appeared in the books Isle of the Lost and Return To The Isle Of The Lost, while her son, Zevon, appeared in Wicked World.

Mermaids are real!
“Auntie Calily, mermaids are real!” Izzy exclaimed, jumping up and down.
“Uh huh,” Calily replied, her head bobbing up and down in time with the enthusiastic 7-year-old. She looked up at the harried black woman that followed. “Mermaids?” she questioned.
With a sigh, “Yes, Isabella met a mermaid and decided to go on an adventure.”
“An adventure? With a mermaid? Do tell,” Calily implored.
“I was on the beach and Wolfie kept looking in the water. I told him to come back so I could bury him in the sand. But he wouldn’t come. He just kept staring and staring and staring and staring. So I marched over there and tried to pull him by his collar,” Izzy blurted in a one sentence story.
“Okay,” Calily replied, as the wiry child hopped onto her lap. She wrapped her arms around the little girl who gleefully swung her red cowgirl boot cladded feet. She paused.
“Then I saw it,” Izzy swung a serious expression around to face Calily.
“What? What did you see?” Calily asked, glancing over at Natalie who found a seat opposite them. She rolled her eyes as Izzy continued.
“It was a shiny she-shell. I mean sea-sell. I mean s-e-a s-h-e-ll. Yeah, sea sell. You know what I mean. I looked at it in the water, but I couldn’t see it so good.” She leaned in closer, moving Calily’s hair away from her ear, cupping her hand she whispered, “I went into the water to see better.”
“Oh,” Calily said nodding with understanding that Izzy was not supposed to go into the water by herself. The look on Natalie’s face confirmed her summation.
Izzy nodded briefly glancing at her mother before she continued. “I heard this song.” Izzy began humming the melody. “And I went further into the water. The shiny seashell kept moving away but I wasn’t going to let it get away. I kept going and going and water kept getting higher and higher. I could hear Wolfie barking and I was going to tell him to be quiet but then I swallowed some water.”
“Oh no! Are you okay?” Calily asked concerned, looking between mother and daughter.
Izzy nodded. “uh huh. Daddy saved me.” She made a big arm movement as if pulling something up out of something. “Daddy picked me up so I could breathe. I saw her then.”
“Saw who, sweetheart?” Calily asked taken aback by the whole story.
“The mermaid. She peaked her head up out of the water. Then she was gone,” Izzy finished moving her hair out of her face.
“Oh, are you going to stop there, little elf?” Natalie asked her daughter, who ducked her head at the chiding.
“There’s more?” Calily asked in disbelief.
“Oh, yes there is more,” Natalie replied as Isabella found her hands really interested all of sudden. “mmm hmmm.”
“Now I am dying of suspense. What happened?” Calily asked looking at the mother daughter duo.
“Later that day when we were at the pier someone got a bright idea. She stood on the end of the pier, took a deep breathe and jumped into the ocean below. Apparently, she was going to get answers, no matter what it took,” Natalie explained. “When we were able to recover her from the water, she regaled us with a fanciful tale of the mermaid who looked like her but with curly hair. She kissed her and she could breathe under water. They swam around and she gave her a treasure before returning her to the surface where we could find her.” Natalie paused.
“What did she give you?” Calily asked Izzy. Izzy grinned and pushed her sleeve up to reveal a shimmering gold bracelet woven around an aqua stone. Her skin held a shimmer in the light that resembled makeup in the pattern of fine scales. “Wow!”
“Exactly, the bracelet won’t come off nor will the scales on her arm,” Natalie sighed. “All because…”
“Mermaids are real!” mother and daughter said in unison.

My List of Amazing Disney Princesses that Got Screwed and Didn’t Get to Become Official Disney Princesses
Eilanwy (The Black Cauldron, 1985)
Reason She Should Be a Princess: Strong willed as hell, and would have been the first of many amazing princess role models coming out four years before The Little Mermaid.
Reason She Isn’t a Princess: Failure at the box office.
Megara (Hercules, 1997)
Reason She Should Be a Princess: Sassy, smart, and yeah... a little bit selfish, but she fixes that in the end. Honestly, she was already cheated on by that bastard she sold her soul for, why you gotta cheat her out of being a princess Disney?
Reason She Isn’t a Princess: Hercules is a movie aimed for boys and failure at the box office.
Melody (The Little Mermaid ll: Return to the Seas, 2000)
Reason She Should Be a Princess: Sassy but well-mannered and respectful. Would have been the first (and only) tomboyish princess.
Reason She Isn’t a Princess: She was primarily featured in a sequel.
Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire, 2001)
Reason She Should Be a Princess: Strong and very skilled at combat. She can seem quite forceful, violent, and aggressive at times, she has a kind heart and a general respect for all creatures.
Reason She Isn’t a Princess: Failure at the box office.

For A Moment
Tumblr media
Okay, get a grip Get the hang of this flipper, It's like slipping two feet into one big, huge slipper This way is left, but which way is right Oh, now I'll be circling in circles all night Oh, so this is forward, no problem I can't believe I can do this and more To swim in the sea, like I walk on the shore Out of my shell, not closed up like a clam God see, this is me, here I am For a moment, all of me is alive and at home in the sea I'm swirling and twirling so graceful and grand Not stubbing my toes, getting stuck in the sand For a moment, life is cool I'll splash in the world's biggest pool This is more than my thoughts ever thought it could be For a moment, just a moment Lucky me If only for one moment, I had shared with you all I know The sea wouldn't be a mystery Oh why did you have to go Everything's newer, brighter and bluer And truer to life than before Watch me soar For a moment, I can shine Get a grin and a fin that works fine My fingers are wrinkly I really don't care, If all of my curls have curled out of my hair For a moment, I can feel All the dreams I'd been dreaming are real Wish my mother could hear it, the sea is my song For a moment, just a moment, I belong I will find you, my darling And the moment that I do I'll hold you close, my Melody And sing the song of the sea with you Sing the song of the sea with you (For a moment, just a moment I belong)

DTV Disney Sequels: The Little Mermaid ll: Return to the Sea
We’ve looked at one sequel starring the offspring of the main protagonist of the film it’s a follow up to, let’s look at another.
The Little Mermaid ll: Return to to Sea. As I kid I really liked this one, seeing as how I was a huge fan of the original. I loved seeing my favorite characters again, and I loved meeting the new ones. I think the sole reason I liked it is because well, it is a sequel to a Disney film I was obsessed with as a child. Yeah, I would watch the first and second one at least once a week what of it? Watching it again as a college student and having to look past childhood nostalgia to judge it critically, is it as good as I remember it? Um…. No. It’s really not that good. TECHNICALLY speaking. But I don’t know if I would call it terrible either… I mean I think it’s got one or two worthwhile things… maybe. For me at least. Um… let’s look at it.
The movie begins with the celebration of Ariel’s new baby daughter, Melody. Being the first child born of both sea and shore, Melody’s special. So special everyone sings about her birth. The celebration is cut short when *sigh* ‘Ursala’s crazy sister’ (Ursala has a sister? Since when?) Morgana shows up and tries to hold Melody ransom in exchange for Triton’s Triton. That backfires as it’s Ariel and Eric to the rescue. Morgana vows vengeance and to take control of the sea and goes into hiding. Ariel decides that the sea is too dangerous as long as Morgana is at large and builds a wall (really tempted to make a Trump joke but they’re overdone and we all know anytime some say that sentence that’s what come to mind) to keep Melody away from the sea. ….Ok, well, you’ll tell Melody why it has to be this way, won’t you Ariel? No. Just keep the truth from her? Ok then. Your daughter. Seriously though Ariel. Bad move as a parent on your part. Twelve years pass and based on how some of the characters are reacting to the situation it seems like it’s only been twelve days, Melody is now a preteen who is much like her mother (of course. And of course Sebastian lampshades this) with a dream opposite of hers. She loves the sea as much as her mother loved things from the surface and swims under the wall despite being told she’s not to go anywhere near it. While swimming on her twelfth birthday she finds a necklace with her name on it, which happens to be the necklace with a hologram of Atlantica inside of it Triton was going to give to her as a gift when she was a baby but couldn’t because of obvious reasons. So he threw it down into the sea instead. Close to the Kingdom as opposed to the middle of the sea or just keeping it with him. After her birthday party is turned into a disaster via comedic shenanigans, Melody shows Ariel the necklace and Melody figures out her mother just might be hiding something from her. They have an argument and Melody runs off and sets sails to find the meaning behind the necklace. Meanwhile, Morgana is plotting her rise to power in her secret lair, her tiny shark minion finds Melody and takes her to Morgana as he tells her she can tell her the truth about the necklace. Of course Melody is all too willing to believe it. Kind of don’t blame her seeing as how she was sheltered for her life up until now and was not taught to properly recognize a threat. Morgana turns Melody who is all to trusting of her as well into a mermaid after convincing her that she is destined to be in the sea. Of course there’s a catch. According to Morgana the power she used to transform Melody isn’t enough for her time as a mermaid to last and in order for her to remain a mermaid, she needs to get Triton’s Triton (which she of course makes up a story about him stealing it from her) and deliver it to her so it’s power can make her stay one. Or something like that. Truth being she just wants it to take control of the sea and is manipulating Melody. But we knew that. She meets two ‘wacky’ sidekicks and the three of them head for the triton. Elsewhere, Ariel and Eric realize Melody has run away and Triton transforms Ariel back into a mermaid in order to look for her in the sea. The rest is just a big plot involving taking down Morgana and mother and daughter Understanding one another better.
What’s the problem with this one? The story. It’s more or less the plot first one rehashed only this time the main protagonist dreams of life in the sea instead of life on land. Isn’t that clever? There’s a parent who just ‘doesn’t understand’ their child, an evil sea witch who wants control of the sea, the hero makes a deal with said sea witch out of nativity as they are promised what they want- with a catch, the catch works against the hero, everything goes to shit, there’s an epic climax, heroes are victorious and we end with a big celebration. Yeah, this sequel really doesn’t do anything to expand the story of the first one like Simba’s Pride did. And the characters make some of the worst decisions here. Ariel suffers the most here. Sure, don’t tell your daughter about who she is, or about Morgana and why you don’t want her going far out into the sea, don’t tell her the truth about yourself, or who her grandfather is. You know. So that she recognizes a threat when she sees it and doesn’t blindly trust the obviously evil green sea witch or her obviously not trustworthy mini shark minion(by the way he gets zapped to mini size at the beginning and gets big again during he climax). Just build a giant wall around the Kingdom and keep your daughter sheltered from the outside world without telling her why. Good god, Ariel ; that is terrible parenting. It does more harm than good for everyone. I know she’s trying to protect her but c’mon. There were better alternatives to do so. She also comes off as hypocritical considering how reckless she was when she was not Melody’s age, but older! Who does this extreme over protectiveness and drastic change in character and hypocrisy remind you of? Oh, yeah. Simba in the Lion King sequel. What is it with these sequels about the protagonist’s children turning said protagonists into kind of shitty stick in the mud parents who’s portrayal goes against their character in the first film? I know they’re trying to make Ariel learn that she was wrong and to their credit she does realize that she was kind of being a shifty parent and regrets keeping all this from Melody. Much more than I can say for Elsa and Anna’s parents. I just think the parent learning a lesson was done a tad bit better in Simba’s Pride because Simba learns from his daughter. That was a really nice way to get the parent to learn their lesson. Here it dawns on Ariel just how terrible of a parent she was after Melody runs off in tears after their argument. Admittedly though, the complicated mother and daughter relationship between Ariel and Melody is kind of nice and it is rare that we see these kind of relationships between mothers and daughters in Disney films. Usually it’s siblings, father daughter, or father son as far as family connections go. I did like that.
Triton makes a little bit of a stupid decision when he drops Melodies necklace into the sea so that it dries to the sea floor RIGHT NEXT TO THE KINGDOM.. in water that’s obviously not that deep seeing as how Melody was able to find it whole swimming underwater. Why did he decide getting rid of it would be a good idea? Surely he could have kept it with him if they didn’t want Melody to know about Atlantica or merpeople ( which itself is a poor decision). She wouldn’t have even found it in the first place if you held onto it! Or if you had to get rid of it drop it somewhere like in the depths of the sea so she would have a much, much lower chance of ever finding it. But nope. Because of this she finds it and becomes curious about it’s meaning, leading her to run away and get herself into trouble. I’d like to point out he also agrees with Ariel’s decision to hide every thing frim Melody, no hesitation, questions asked, or challenging of his daughter’s decision. Hey, it’s only to protect her. Something that would have actually happened if you maybe just maybe had taken the necklace far away! Or maybe still have given it to her and Ariel had actually been a proper mother and told her about it! Grandfather of the year. Eric doesn’t do much in this movie except act very useless as a father. He doesn’t even try to comfort Melody when she’s visibly upset. Heck, he doesn’t interact much with her. Talk to your daughter! Make sure she’s ok! Be a father!
Morgana is basically a carbon copy of Ursula. She’s even voiced by Pat Carroll yeah, they brought back the same actress as Ursula to voice her. She’s also Ursala’s sister. Ursala’s crazy sister. There’s one word for that and it’s called laziness. Also they just dub this Villain her sister without any explanation and expect the audience to roll with it. At least it’s not as confusing as the villain introduction in Simba’s Pride. Her motivation is the exact same as Ursala’s. She wants to rule the sea and tricks the main character into getting what she wants. She’s really not interesting as a villain.
Sebastian and Flounder are back and like most old characters in these sequels, have nothing to do except help search for Melody. Sebastian is given the task of watching her but does a lousy job at it as she keeps getting away. Flounder is now an adult and has guppies. This movie introduces two sidekick characters called Tip and Dash who are among the most annoying Disney has to offer. Aside from arguing and failing miserably at being heroes, only really doing anything substantial when they save Melody from drowning in the climax, they are essentially a poor man’s Timon and Pumbaa. Watch any scene with them in it and try to convince me otherwise.
The animation while nice for a DTV sequel, is lacking when it comes to character facial expressions. Triton in particular looks devoid of emotion with his dead eyes. The first Little Mermaid had so much emotion, the characters just look so restricted. The animation itself isn’t supposed to be theatrical quality and once again, the first film was such a gorgeous movie full of life. So like the sequel to the Lion King it would like be too harsh to compare them. It’s mostly the lifeless character expressions that are a turn off.
Well, I said I liked this one as a kid, so is there anything I still like about it now. Actually, yes. In fact, these things actually keep me from disliking the movie entirely. The songs are actually kind of catchy. They’re not particularly memorable, but they’re nice to bop your head to. There is one I actually adore: ‘For a moment’. Jodi Benson and Tara Strong resonate so well together while singing this song. They’ve both got such nice voices and to hear them together is a treat. It’s got such a nice tune and an upbeat tone. I could listen to that one over and over. The background music is soothing. This is another sequel with a decent soundtrack. Just a shame it was in a bland film.
I love Melody. She’s so cute! She’s relate able to kids who felt like their parents didn’t get them, had trouble fitting in, an were considered weird by their peers. She’s also so adorably awkward! Especially when it comes to her interactions with the few kids and mermaid kids her age she comes across. It also makes sense as to why she would be so naïve to the dangers of the sea, having never been told about them. It’s understandable why she we would b upset with her mother for keeping secrets from her. She’s twelve years old and has just learned her mother has been lying to her all her life. What kid that age wouldn’t want to seek out the truth? Her enthusiasm and love of the sea is endearing, and her excitement upon becoming a mermaid is so adorable. Complete with an adorable voice provided by Tara strong. Daww, I want to eat her up. That’s a big positive too. Once again, what a shame. Such a likeable main character in an uninspired, recycled, and watered down (no pun intended) story.
When you really get down to it, the main issues I have with this movie stem from the story, the annoying sidekicks, old characters being useless, and the restricted character expressions and emotion. It’s still got some things in it I enjoyed. The music and the main character; and those are both huge positives. Plus, being part of my childhood, this move does hold somewhat of a special place in my heart.
Yeah, critically speaking, this movie really isn’t good and if you’re a fan of the first you probably won’t like this one. It really doesn’t add anything new to the story and the old characters are wither useless or make such bad choices. But I consider it… harmless. I did get something out of it and while I don’t like being blinded by nostalgia, I find I can’t really hate this movie as I have such find memories of it. Well, it’s not just that. Like I said above, the songs are nothing special but they’re alright (except For a Moment. That was a really good one) and Melody is endearing. Admittedly, I even liked watching the action scenes. They were kind of fun. As a whole I wouldn’t recommend this movie, and the negatives of it probably outweigh the positives but there is at least something here that put me in a good mood. I don’t know. That’s just me. You’ll most likely think a lot differently if you didn’t grow up with this one, and I know there are people who didn’t care for the songs or Melody and really really REALLY don’t like this film and I definitely see why. It’s stupid, cliché, generic, and uninspired and doesn’t have too much substance. Personally though, the things I like about it are just a bit too charming for me to hate it altogether. A lot of other people would beg to differ, but hey, that’s their opinion. Not a good movie in any sense, but I look back in it as a harmless time waster with a few things I still like about it here and there.

rise of the isle of the lost starters pt 2
change pronouns / etc as you will !!
“ I went with [NAME]. We got drenched. ”
“ I was thinking of trying out for cheer. But that seems silly, right?  ”
“ Why would that be silly?  ”
“ You should try out if you want to.  ”
“ But I'm just the mascot.  ”
“ Mascots aren't cheerleader material.  ”
“ I was more of an accidental addition.  ”
“ I used to be scared of dogs when I got here.  ”
“ See, if I can do it, you can.  ”
“ But you're like, brave and all.  ”
“ You guys stood up to [NAME] . You can do anything.  ”
“ No way, I'm not brave. I was scared the entire time.  ”
“ Yeah, I'm scared of a lot of things. I'm also scared of heights. And my mom.  ”
“ Aw, come on, everyone's scared of your mom.  ”
“ Cheerleaders are definitely not scary.  ”
“ Come on, what do cheerleaders do? I'll help you practice.  ”
“ Aren't tryouts for the new season next week?  ”
“ Yeah. I was thinking of maybe auditioning.  ”
“ Come on, let's practice flips.  ”
“ Me, a cheerleader . . . I mean, stranger things have happened, right?  ”
“ Did you ever think you guys would end up here?  ”
“ Honestly, it's the last thing we expected. It was a total surprise, and we didn't even want to go.  ”
“ What do you want to do when you get out of here?  ”
“ What do I want to do when I grow up? I don't know. Something with computers, maybe? What about you?  ”
“ I always thought I'd be like my mom.  ”
“ Now that magic is discouraged, I guess I have to go back to the drawing board.  ”
“ Although, I was sort of looking forward to suddenly popping up when people are crying and changing everything so they get their heart's desire.  ”
“ You like helping people.  ”
“ Come on, race you back to the dorms. One, two . . .  ”
“ Tell [NAME] what you told me.  ”
“ Hmmm. Definitely not the usual freshman drama.  ”
“ Big problems are [NAME] 's specialty.  ”
“ So, um, I did something stupid at the party. I took something that wasn't mine.  ”
“ I just wanted to see if I had enough power in me to use it.  ”
“ I just wanted to prove that I'm one of the king's heirs too.  ”
“ I figured I'd return it right after.  ”
“ I lost hold of it, and it flew up into the sky——and when it fell, I couldn't find it anywhere.  ”
“ I didn't tell him. I didn't tell anyone. I was too scared.  ”
“ So I only have until tomorrow night to find it. Before [NAME] finds out it's missing.  ”
“ My mom would kill me . . . and so would all my aunts, of course.  ”
“ They probably just thought it was lightning.  ”
“ Of course we'll help. Any friend of [NAME] 's is a friend of ours.  ”
“ Where do you suppose you get a spoon that size?  And what's it for?  ”
“ Well, it's for eating little boys.  ”
“ I see your point.  Let's steer clear.  ”
“ Looks like everyone's after the prize.  ”
“ What sort of junk are you looking to find?  ”
“ I heard the mermen saw it on the other side of the Isle!  ”
“ Thought I'd throw them off the scent!  ”
“ Dad really knows how to make an entrance.  ”
“ How are we even going to get out of the harbor?  ”
“ This place is so choked with boats that it'll take an hour before we sail past any of them.  ”
“ We'll never be able to sail faster than those ships on these things.  ”
“ Oh, you just figured this out?  ”
“ That's why I'm going to beat you.  ”
“ Are you certain this is absolutely necessary?  ”
“ Why not send an envoy?  ”
“ At least bring me along.  ”
“ If we arrive with a show of force, they might not believe we're acting in their best interest.  ”
“ Don't worry, [NAME]’s with me.   [P/N]'ll keep me safe. ”
“ In case you get hungry, Mom packed you some sandwiches.  ”
“ What gorgeous countryside.  ”
“ Do you ever think about how lucky we are to be in [PLACE]?  ”
“ My family really appreciates you doing this.  ”
“ Good idea.  I hope they listen to you.  ”
“ It would be a shame if things escalated.  ”
“ Is that what being king is all about?  Listening?  ”
“ How about you?  Everything going okay?  ”
“ That doesn't sound like everything's okay.  ”
“ You know how you wish you could change things, but there's nothing you can do about it?  ”
“ There's always something you can do about it.  ”
“ Has anyone ever told you that you can't do something just because of who you are?  ”
“ When you're king, you can't just think of yourself or what you want.  You have to think of the people, always.  ”
“ I thought being king meant you always got your way, actually.  ”
“ Maybe a terrible king, yeah—but not if you want to be a good one.  ”
“ Like sometimes, I just really want to tell someone off, you know?  Or lose my temper?  Or just say what I mean?  ”
“ What I do matters more because of who I am, and so I can't ever really be myself.  ”
“ Whatever it is you want, don't let anyone stop you from dreaming your dreams and following through on them.  ”
“ You sound like your mom.  ”
“ Who wants to see me balance the table on my head again?  ”
“ I've been training since I could walk.  ”
“ You're doing it all wrong.  Want some help?  ”
“ I don't think you're ready for those just yet.  ”
“ Good start.  Better than I would have guessed for a first-timer, but never get cocky.  ”
“ The first thing is that you're holding it wrong.  ”
“ You have to be ready to defend yourself against an attack that could come from any direction.  ”
“ You think I'll make the team?  ”
“ My sister's pretty good at this stuff too.  ”
“ I guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering who your mom is?  ”
“ I think I'll go with this one.  Looks good?  ”
“ I'll take this bunch.  They're on sale.  You find anything?  ”
“ What's wrong, dearie, give us a smile.  ”
“ What do you want for that hat?  ”
“ I washed the leather five times and picked all the seashells, then I stitched the band with a grosgrain ribbon . . .  ”
“ You work for me, remember?  Do I have to keep reminding you?  ”
“ I'm captain, you're first mate.  ”
“ I just need to ask again—how ARE we going to find that thing in the water?  ”
“ Mama was really something, wasn't she?  Back then? v
“ Those days will come back.  ”
“ Hey, do you know whatever happened to [NAME]'s necklace?  ”
“ I know that.  I mean what happened to it after that?  ”
“ Well, what's it matter anyway?  There's no magic on the Isle.  ”
“ Just because there's no magic around doesn't mean there's no power left in it.  ”
“ What kind of power could it have?  ”
“ Wow, that's one brave mermaid.  ”
“ I don't mean to be rude, but why is this our problem exactly?  ”
“ [NAME]'s a friend, and [P/N] came to us.   [P/N] didn't know who else to ask for help.  ”
“ You really don't have time for something like this.  ”
“ Plus, don't forget, exams are coming up.  ”
“ I'll tell you why it's our problem.  Because when a friend's in trouble, what do we do?  ”
“ Come on, we all know what it feels like to have done something wrong.  And to feel scared and alone afterward.  ”
“ But [NAME] asked us to keep it a secret.  ”
“ We can handle this ourselves.  Let's not bring [NAME] into it.  ”
“ Goblins are terrible gossips.  ”
“ That's not a girl.  That's a sea witch.  ”
“ There was a height requirement?  ”
“ I think it bothered [P/N] more because we were close once, best friends actually.  But then [P/N] . . .  ”
“ I wasn't the nicest person back then.  ”
“ You were only doing what you were taught.  ”
“ The only ones who could possibly be loyal to her are the pirates.  ”
“ You used to run with them, didn't you?  ”
“ That's how I know they're all a bunch of scoundrels.  ”

Kaikeidou Ibun: M.c.s. - Tale of Sea Searching, Part 3
"Oh my, it looks like time's up already~. Congratulations, you wi~in."
"*huff*..... *whuff*....."
 Ugh god my LUNGS...
"Are you all ri~ght?"
"N-No, I, *huff*... am DEFINITELY not..."
Having returned to the real air bubble that Lord Watatsumi had made for me, I stop to catch my breath again. Her sister Ayaori had frozen the water into sword-like clumps that she threw around, but Suimei here fought by making air bubbles in the water. A minute or two later, once I can finally talk again, I ask her about them.
"What... whew, what were those air bubbles...?"
"Oh, those~? My ability is 'scattering water,' and those are spaces I created by making the water disperse~."
"Disperse...? So they really were filled with air...?"
"Well, ye~es, but there's only oxygen left over inside of them..."
So, that means the gaps Suimei creates in the water are filled with high-density, high-pressure oxygen, which is extremely bad for humans to stand around in. And I walked right on into those spaces a whole bunch of times, so...
"I-- how did I even survive that...?"
"Eh heh he~h. I'd expect no less from an opponent that Ayaori acknowledged. That was ever so much fun~."
"Yes um I was kind of about to die for a minute there?"
"Eh heh he~h. With that, I suppose you'd better head off to your next destination~."
 Oh. You're ignoring me. Okay.
At any rate, as little Suimei says that, she walks over to my side and waves her hand out towards the seabed.
"Proceed straight forward from here, and you'll reach our home, the Kaikeidou. Don't think too hard about where you're going; just head on out there and it'll a~ll be fi~ne."
"The Kaikeidou...?"
"Inde~eed. In human terms, I suppose it'd be similar to the 'Dragon Palace'?"
Suimei said "straight forward," but all she's pointing at is the endless sandy seabed and the blurry ocean beyond. Her explanations are about as vague as Ayaori's were, but I suppose it's just another of those things that I'll understand once I get going.
And now, after all this, I finally understand what my destination is.
The majority of the rumors in town were most likely the result of Ayaori and Suimei's actions. The Dragon Palace story, to which people were giving the most credit, is likely to be the "Kaikeidou" where Ayaori, Suimei and their other sisters live. Thus, in order to unravel the rumors, I now have to follow Suimei's instructions to that Kaikeidou.
"I suppose this means that, since I beat you, I can now head onward to this Kaikeidou place?"
"By all means~."
Suimei waves her hand with a soft smile, presumably as a send-off for me. With that, I suppose it's time for me to head off.
"Hey, by the wa~ay... your name is Awakihara, right~?"
"Oh, ah, yes. Allow me to introduce myself again; I am Tsukushi Awakihara, a totally ordinary human who can channel the power of gods."
"Ordinary~? Is that perhaps meant to be a joke~?"
 Eheh. Was it obvious?
"Ahaha... so, is there something you want to ask about my name?"
"Oh, nothing mu~uch. I was just thinking 'what's someone with a name like Awakihara doing down he~ere...?' What exactly are you here for~?"
"....."
........
After just about an hour of walking along nondescript stretches of sea floor, the sand suddenly began to slope dramatically downward. Little Suimei had told me that "if you're able to dive deeper, that's a sign you're going in the right direction," so it looks like I'm still on course.
"........"
I had left without really answering Suimei's question, though. I didn't think it was something that I could talk about very easily to someone who I'd just met, and who I probably wouldn't see again...
I wonder if they're searching for me in a blind panic up there, now.
My uncles and everyone else are probably searching, too.
I wonder if I'll eventually have to go back.
"...I'd really rather not go back now..."
As I idly thought to myself, progressing deeper still into the ocean, a clear change of scenery suddenly leapt into my field of view.
"...Oh, wow."
A massive thoroughfare, lit up by stone lanterns arranged in neat rows. Strange things moving around-- humanoid, definitely not fish. And a massive, castle-like building, stretching onward for stories, one that would hardly look out of place on top of a mountain. Even though I'm down in the deep sea, this one little corner of it has transformed into an amazing, gorgeous castle town.
"This is what the fishermen were talking about... and so this must be the Kaikeidou...?"
It's so beautiful that I almost think twice about taking a single step. As I place my foot forward onto the polished stone tile, I turn to look at the somewhat-short street stalls that fan out to either side. There's these little things swimming around in there that look almost like people. They're smaller than children, and have wings... it might not be the most imaginative word for them, but they look like fairies. With so many these astonishing sights all around me, I can't help but express it out loud.
"Fairies, mermaids... it's like I'm in a total fantasy world..."
"AAAAAH HAH HAH HAH HAAAAH!!"
Just as I do, a high-pitched laugh reaches my ears. High enough, in fact, that I almost forgot I was hearing it through a layer of water. Up at the other end of the straight thoroughfare... at the front gate of what I'm assuming is the Kaikeidou, I see a girl standing with her arms crossed.
"Looks like you finally got here, yeah? Now, c'mon! You're ready to fight me, aren'tcha?!"
She's about the same height as me; she's got short, pretty gold hair with a slight scarlet tinge to it, wide azure eyes fixed right on me, and... well, *cough* I kind of hate to admit it, but her figure's a lot more defined than mine. Looks like she's my next opponent.
"Are you one of Ayaori and Suimei's sisters, too?"
At my question, the girl gives a haughty grin, spreads her arms wide, and jerks her thumb towards herself. Like she's putting on some big, pompous show...
"Heck yeah, I am! Hear, and be amazed! Behold, an' shout to the heavens! You're looking at this here Kaikeidou's strongest gate guard, yeah...? Fourth of the Kai sisters, Tenpyou Kai!"
Little Havfrue of Benighted Ignorance Tenpyou Kai
"I was gettin' SO bored waitin' for a human to show up, yeah? So I'm gonna make sure you gimme a real fun fight!"
Little... or, uh, Miss Tenpyou? points at me this time, still with the ostentatious gestures. At the same time, several distorted spaces appear in the water around her. They're roughly spherical and floating around her general vicinity; I imagine they're the manifestation of her ability, but I don't know what that ability is yet...
"See these? I've got the ability to manipulate microvibrations! If you bump into one, you'll get totally scrambled, so you'd better be careful if you don't wanna die, yeah? Hee hee hee..."
Oh okay she just blurted it out. Microvibrations, apparently. But even with that said, I still don't know what the scope of her ability is. Ayaori and Suimei had made the absolute most out of their respective powers, and little Tenpyou is their big sister, so I'd better not underestimate her...
"Now, come at me! I've prepared myself with the full extent of my power, yeah, so you'd better fight with all the strength you've got, too!"
Oh okay she blurted that out too. There's eight areas of distortion drifting around her at the moment, so no matter how hard she tries, I can safely assume that she's only got enough power to maintain eight at any given time. Anyway, that aside, this Tenpyou girl seems kind of...?
"...Well, still, 'never underestimate thy opponent.' I accept; if I've come this far, I'm going to keep going as far as I can. Now, Miss Tenpyou Kai, let's make this a nice, fair fight!"
"Hee hee hee... a'ight then! GAME ON!!"
Without even stopping to plan my strategy of attack, I stepped forward to do battle with Tenpyou.
