That's the way life is. You just have to take it. Some of us can, some of us can't.

"Literature works from mind to mind and is thus more progenitive. It is at once more universal and more poignantly particular." - JRR Tolkien
This captures one of the things I love best about books, they're universal and poignantly particular. I've seen this with my Book Club. We all read and get something out of a particular book, but for some of us something about the book is more poignant. It's a magical thing to touch the mind of someone else.

The Mirror Crack'd (1980)
My rating: 6/10
Excellent cast, delivering excellent performances that are unfortunately somewhat wasted on a rather uneven script that sags quite a bit in the middle.

"‘Things have to happen to all of us . . . That’s the way life is. You just have to take it. Some of us can, some of us can’t.’ So Agatha wrote in The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side, and, having been one of the people who couldn’t ‘take it’, she thereafter remade herself into one of those who could. At the root of this shift was her writing. That was her refuge, her protection, her outlet: her real life."
