#the quest 2022

I keep making myself sad about Disney taking down The Quest, so I rewatched it and…

How? How could they cancel and erase a show so earnest, so warm, so full of heart? Such pure, unbridled, cringe-be-damned fantasy, any geeky teen’s ultimate wish fulfilment? The adventure the books always promised them they’d have, finally realised.

How could they leave behind such an intricate world with so much left to explore, such brilliant characters with so much more to grow? How could they leave it on such a cliff hanger?

It won multiple awards, was that not enough? It was loved, was that not enough? What the hell is ‘engagement’ anyway?

And I know the answer is they don’t care, they never cared, if the lack of promotion and the release schedule are anything to go by. And I know this is a sentiment echoed by so many now, too many, mourning the loss of their own shows that meant so much to them. I am not unique. I am not alone.

But still it hurts to think about how they made something so beautiful and genuine and then left it in the dark to die.

There will always be a place in my heart for Everealm.

As the year comes to a close, I just wanted to stop and take a moment to thank all the people who have made this year possible for both the Archer Inventive shop, and for Loreamour and it's Knights.

It was a busy year filled with plenty of uncertainties, hurdles, and challenges to overcome, but thanks to all of you Loreamour was able to throw not just one event for the community but TWO! On top of that the The Knights of Loreamour were able to attend multiple events, and you allowed the Archer Inventive shop to continue to grow.

It took a lot of hard work, late nights, and a few smashed pumpkins, but thanks to all of you, we did it!!

So, to those who helped spread the word, or who inspired and motivated through kind words, Thank you!

To those who visited the shop. Thank you!

To those of you who came out to help us with setup and teardown, or simply to say hi, Thank you!

To those who donated their time and/ or resources to make all the events of this past year possible, Thank you!

And to those who came out to attend in the festivities and added their own laughter to the frivolity, Thank you! We couldn't have done this without you.

Here's to many more years of laughter as we gather and grow. Creating magical memories and new friendships to last a lifetime.

02112022 - Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest

Very, extremely vague spoilers for 100YQ, ch. 119

~

"I swear to God, Natsu, one day, your curiosity will either get you killed or, at the very least, severely maimed," Lucy sighs as she dries her hair in the bath house's changing room. "Your shamelessness, too."

Natsu shrugs as he pulls up his pants. "It's not like it's anything I haven't already seen before. Why are you getting so weird about it?"

And okay, that might be true, unfortunately, to Lucy's continuous embarrassment, but that's not really her point. "I'm not being weird. You're just being an idiot."

To her aggravation (though not to her surprise), Natsu just rolls his eyes. "I see you naked every other day, though, so-"

"Oh my God," she cuts him off, her face hotter than the midsummer sun. She covers his mouth with both her hands, hoping and praying no one else heard that, before smacking his shoulder. "Don't say that, who knows what people will think?" I'll never get married at this rate, she thinks, dismayed.

"Nobody cares, you weirdo," he says, sounding bored. He steps away, dry and dressed already, and Lucy realises she's still missing a shirt. Dammit.

"Well, I do!" she calls after him, indignant, as she finally finishes getting dressed. Then, more to herself than to Natsu, Lucy mumbles a quiet, frustrated, "Who'll take me as a bride if people heard you say things like that, huh?"

She almost chokes on her own tongue when he yells back from just outside the door. "Me. Now come on, already!"

✦ Art Summary 2023 [/2022] ✦

my art summary for this very turbulent year. I didn't get to draw nearly as much as I would've liked to and slacked like crazy in the rendering/shading department. buuuut I also confronted my fear of doing lineart and clean sketches, designed a ton, defined my personal aesthetics and refined my art style[s].
