OC Interview
Got tagged by @krokaxe @bokatan and @leavingautumn13
I've already done this for Nora and Al, but I figured I'd do it for some of my other characters... So, Nate and Jack below.
Name: Nate Sosu
Nickname/Alias: Charmer (Railroad)
Gender: (slightly GNC but mostly in private) Cis man (he/him)
Star sign: Aquarius (February 18, 2045)
Height: 6’0”
Orientation: Bi + poly
Nationality: American (white)
Favourite fruit: Cherries and Pineapple
Favourite season: Summer
Favourite flower: Dandelions
Favourite scent: Grass
Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate: Coffee
Average hours of sleep: Not enough. He has trouble sleeping due to PTSD.
Dog or cat person: Dog person, because he loves to play with them.
Dream trip: Nate's the kind of person who cares less for a location specifically but more for who he is with while visiting. He'd love to go just about anywhere if he could do it with someone he cared for. He probably would have dragged the family to Nuka World when Shaun was big enough to enjoy it.
Number of blankets they’d choose to sleep with: One or two, depending on how cold it is.
Random fact: Considering he went right from school into the army, this man had no idea what he'd do for an actual job. Probably would have looked into mechanics. He knew he'd love to coach little league, though.
Name: Jack (No last name yet)
Nickname/Alias: He doesn't have any unique nicknames or code names (yet?).
Gender: Cis man (he/him)
Star sign: Taurus (1st May, 2058)
Height: I dunno exactly yet, but he's quite a big boy. Over 6ft for sure.
Orientation: Gay
Nationality: American (white)
Favourite fruit: Cranberries and Blackberries
Favourite season: Winter
Favourite flower: The kind that grow on melon and gourd plants.
Favourite scent: Petrichor
Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate: Tea
Average hours of sleep: 6-9 hours, depending on the time of year and if he needs to get up earlier to feed his chickens or something. He'd happily sleep in more if he could. Probably the best sleeper of my OC's.
Dog or cat person: Either. He can't own a dog though, so I guess it defaults to cat person.
Dream trip: Jack travelled all over every corner of Appalachia a lot during the years after getting out of vault 76, and doesn't have much incentive to want to go anywhere else, since he had so little life experience before going in and so much to do after getting out. He doesn't really think about travel on a wider scale. He also can't be sure how people would react to his unique mutations, so he feels safer sticking close to home just for that alone. If you asked he'd probably say something simple and sappy like hiking up to a high, nature filled point to watch the sunrise or some shit with a very unenthused Beckett.
Number of blankets they’d choose to sleep with: One. He generates a lot of body heat so he's all good on that front, and his house tends to be pretty cozy.
Random fact: He came from a large family, and several of them did survive past the bombs. Still figuring out if he ever actually meets any of them again though.

Huh, I didn't even realize it'd been a year since BG3 came out until I opened tumblr this morning. Kinda wild. I didn't think much of the game's release: I like Larian's games, and I like the BG series. I wasn't ever going to skip the game, but I didn't think I'd play it at launch because I was busy working on a novel in 2023 and not doing well financially.
Thankfully, circumstances left me with a little bit of extra money last year just before launch and it meant I could spend on a video game. I needed a pick-me-up after said 2023 novel failed to go anywhere, and BG3 was right there. Like most CRPGs, I played it in basically every moment of free time that I had and did as much as I possibly could in one playthrough.
It's so odd how these small happenstances can snowball into coming back to fandom, finding some friends I might've never met otherwise, and writing a lot of fanfiction along the way. I'll probably have something more interesting to say/share when it's the 14th, AKA when I sat down and wrote my first fic for this fandom.
Anyways, it's been a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to more years to come 💜

my favorite character flaw to give the jedi is nepotism
they just are too social. the grandpadawan of your lineage sibling you've barely ever seen has caused some trouble? better bet your ass some jedi is gonna bend over backwards to nepotism away any lasting consequences. they all have blackmail on each other and they all are not afraid to use it. it's the real reason why the worst punishment you ever see someone recieve is helping out in the archives. you try to pass anything more and obscure Master Gbblurgg Ginkgagg who has been presumed dead for decades suddenly descends in a rain of fire and highly incriminating holos from that one ill-advised bar-hopping tour on Corellia you did with them during your own padawanhood

if you get this, answer w/ five random facts about yourself and send it to the last seven blogs in your notifs. anon or not, doesn't matter, let's get to know the person behind the blog! No pressure though! 🌻
Okay *cracks knuckles* let's get some bizarre random facts about me.
I have this weird ability to always find where a person will hurt the most when I touch them, sometimes it's by accident, touching exactly where someone has an open wound I didn't know about, for example, sometimes I can purposely pinpoint it. It has happened my whole life and I wonder if that's part of why I'm not very prone to touch unless in certain conditions.
I had never been so actively part of a fandom before Star Trek nor I really got the need to read fics and the like, Spirk initiated me on that.
I have a congenital condition called distichiasis where eyelashes grow thick in several rows, mine can grow endlessly long and I have to trim them from time to time or they get ridiculous.
I can make my eyeballs vibrate inside my eye sockets, I can't exactly explain how but when I was a young teen I somehow became aware of the muscles that can do that and just...do it. It doesn't serve any purpose, it's just a freaky thing to do to surprise people xD
When I was 16 I was diagnosed with limbic-temporal lobe epilepsy, I didn't know about this condition before diagnosis but I had all kinds of hallucinations (visual, taste, sound, touch, smell), mood swings from time to time and would burst out laughing or crying without the emotion that usually comes with it. With the passing of years the symptoms became fainter and now I just have some of them very mildly, mostly when I'm exhausted.
And that's it, I hope it was entertaining or interesting in some way. I'm so not used to talking about myself it took me some time to think of what to write xDU

Something about me is that I’m always dehydrated.
I always have been. I went to the ER in first grade because I didn’t drink water all day during summer camp.
I feel thirsty but for some reason I can just ignore it and I forget I’m thirsty.
I get constipated because I never drink water. I have so much water retention because I never drink water. My skin is suffering because I never drink water. I’m low on energy because I never drink water. My hair falls a lot because I never drink water.
Part of the reason I forget to drink it is because two years or so ago, I hated that I would get bloated after taking a sip of anything (I also hated the way I looked I thought I was fat but this was why) so I decided to just not drink water until I got home from school. I also started skipping meals which made things worse but this is about water right now. Obviously, this made the matter worse because I was already dehydrated to begin with so I started to get even more bloated, more tired, I felt like shit all the time, and my anxiety levels skyrocketed. Then I went to the doctor and told her about it in hopes that she would give me some magical solution. She just told me to drink water and I was like oh…
Long story short, drink water. I started drinking a lot more water and my skin sighed in relief, my hair is try thriving, and I get less bloated now. I overall feel more confident and energized, I would definitely recommend.
I still forget to drink water a lot since it kind of became a habit to ignore my thirst but I’m working on it and it’s helped a lot
