#look this was probably the most experimental post i've ever done considering i had to make the newspaper article from scratch#and to be entirely honest i uuuh im not happy with it lmao#i should've done an obituary instead of the article but too late ! i have no energy to start again#but whatever .the point is that the article is supposed to allude to alex's death okay so yes obituary would've worked better but too bad#idk i think i just had a massive brain blegh halfway through which sucks because i was thinking about this post all day#but the idea behind the whole concept and the QUOTE in the first place and the stupid article concept#was the idea that nigel wasn't the only one to kill himself at the end of the film#alex did too . just not in the literal sense#alex kills the old version of himself . kills the who he used to be#this did not do that quote or the intention behind the post justice but i'm just gonna dump it here and go#also deep in tags is the best place for me to put the random shit i'm thinking of and i've had the trainyard scene on my mind lately#but i left my thoughts to simmer too long and now it's been reduced into thickness 😞 but anyway#greg may have been too much of a coward to give them the maraclea ending they deserved#but he will never be able to take away the fact that the trainyard scene will always be their version of the myth TO ME and me only probs#okay because that story is supposed to parallel the typical conventions of marriage - the consumation when he lays with the body#and then 9 months later the skull symbolises a birth resulting from their union#that moment at the railway ? where nigel shoots himself with the very gun alex is holding?#that's their consumation babes; their union; their wedding#'pray for me pray for yourself we're one now' may as well be their vows#and what do we get as a result of that union 9 months later? we get jack#jack is the product of these 2 people becoming 1 and just like the skull granted great power to the lord#so too does jack grant power to alex; the power to take control of his life and forge his own path forward#me making this post 🤝 cats : oooooo big stretch#seriously#lowkey glad no one will see this in the tag search lmao#like minds

Mw3 spoilers (just a long personal ramble)
Hiii. So
As soon as the pre-release came out on, I hunted down spoilers, because I know myself and knew that if someone died and I got that information out of the blue, I wouldn’t take it well. Jokes on me, because I still haven’t been taking it well lol
I won’t talk about how Soap’s death was handled or the quality of the game. Plenty of smarter people are doing so.
I try not to talk a lot about myself and irl stuff on here, but will just say: I am very unwell, mentally. (Cue silence because that’s not surprising at all) Something I am very aware that I do, is that I latch onto fiction with my whole being, usually one specific character. For some reason, I always latch onto the character that ends up dead, usually in a way that make them only exist to further the motivations of other characters. It sucks.
So my hope for Soap has never been great, but for some reason I was still so shocked?? I don’t know, I tricked myself into thinking this time was different. Such an iconic character with so much good setup for great character development. I knew someone would die, but ow. To me, he was the element that made 141 seem more like family than coworkers. Soap’s interactions with the rest just livened up the games so much and made them all shine. Especially Ghost. Their dynamic, man.
Soap was the character that intrigued me enough to jump into the cod rabbit hole. It feels very hollow without him.
I keep telling myself that it’s silly to be so hurt over something fictional, and that I can just treat it as a mcd fanfic and move on, but nope. Brain’s stuck in the bad stuff. It’s a bad habit of mine to let something like this affect me so much, but well. Logic vs feeling and all that.
I really did find so much comfort in Soap this last year, that I severely needed. It feels a little like losing someone I know, someone who helped me through a rough time. I related to something in him and felt inspired. I only started writing after getting into ghostsoap, I started working out and I got back into art after a very long burnout. It may be fiction, but the impact is not.
So that was pretty much the worst case scenario of what mw3 could be to me. I always knew the risk, but, once again, ow. But there also seems to be plenty of good stuff in the game that I enjoy. I’m happy with the Ghost and Soap dialogue, the whole team working together and seeing Laswell and Farah and Alex and Nik. I hope I can be inspired by some of the new content once I’m calmer.
And I was worried they would ignore Ghost and Soap’s relationship after their development in mw2, but they genuinely seem to have gotten real close. It’s nice. I thought the shipping might scare the game devs into never having them appear in a scene together again, so that’s a plus.
Bottom line to all this is: I probably need a little break to get my head sorted. The grief is surprisingly real, it’s triggered some old stuff for me (haven’t been sleeping or eating, been stuck in some old thoughts). I’ll need to calm down and become a bit more normal about this again. Part of the grief isn’t so much about Soap himself, but also just the safe space that this account has been. The very nature of how the fandom is going to interact with Soap and Ghostsoap is going to change now, and man… I liked how it was, y’know? Could’ve used a little longer in that bubble. There’s going to be plenty of new fics and art, lovely stuff as always, but many of them will be tinged with grief, and I’m not in a place where that won’t break me a little.
I will hopefully come back to posting and making stuff once my brain settles down. I have so many drafts for fics and ideas that I hope I can return to. I’ve gotten so used to drawing these lads that I doubt I can stop tbh
The version of Soap that we love is already evolved from the games due to all the time and care the community has put into the character. The games may have killed him, but luckily, he’s fictional. We can do what we want, same as before.
I’m not even saying that I wish they hadn’t killed him. The games are crafting a story that fits their audience. It makes sense.
But I will choose to live in one of the many universes we’ve created for Soap, where he is alive and cared for, with a found family and a spooky lieutenant with a soft spot for him. Good for him.
Hope you’re all taking care of yourselves. RIP canon Soap (again). Thanks to Neil for a wonderful portrayal. And no matter where we go from here, thanks for a wonderful year of creating with you lovely folks. Seriously, some of the kindest people I’ve met in fandom. <3
Lastly: fuck you Kevin O’Reilly, but more importantly, sincerely thank you. (CallMeKevin video about mw2 got me into this mess. Otherwise I was keeping cod at an arm’s length, but he’s my fav youtuber, so I watched it. And here we are!)

Here are some cool Easter eggs that I found the newest My Adventures with Superman episode, "My Interview with Superman" Links to my first two easter egg posts for episode 1 and 2 are here and here.
Link to my episode 4 easter egg post is here
Link to my episode 5 easter eggs post is here
Link to my episode 6 easter eggs post is here
Link to my episode 7 easter eggs post is here and here
Link to my episode 8 easter eggs post is here
Link to my episode 9 easter eggs post is here
Link to my episode 10 easter eggs post is here SPOILERS if you have not seen the episode of course:
We start off the episode with an Amazo Tech blimp crashing into a building in Metropolis
Tumblr media
You don't see a lot of blimps in Metropolis. Gotham is usually the one with a lot of blimps flying around. If you saw the episode on Adult Swim when it premiered on air you'll know that the next episode involved Professor Anthony Ivo and Amazo Tech. Throughout the previous episodes and this one, the Amazo Tech brand is shown to set up next week's episode. After the scene we go to a break in at Stryker's Island (more on that location later) as we see one of the villains for the episode Mist...
Tumblr media
and one of his partners...
Tumblr media
Rough House who are trying to break out...
Tumblr media
Shiobhan McDougal. If you know your Superman comics, you'll also know here as Silver Banshee.
Kyle/Mist is a VERY old DC supervillain from the 1940s who first appeared in Adventure Comics #47 (1941) as the arch villain to Starman. Mist's design in the comics is RADICALLY different from the show.
Tumblr media
MAwS modernized Mist's design compared to here in these comics panels (W: Alfred Bester, P&I: Jack Burnley, C: Raymond Perry, L: Betty Bentley). In the comic Mist's power allows him to turn his body into a gaseous form thus the name. MAwS uses Mist as someone who can turn himself and objects invisible (lowkey when Mist showed up I was like "is that Luminus from Superman the Animated Series?") Fun fact in the comic, we don't know what Mist's last name is. All we know is that his name is Kyle and in the show that is what Rough House calls him on accident but at least he has a last name, McDougal in MAwS.
Tumblr media
Rough House makes his first appearance in Adventures of Superman #544 (1997) (W: Karl Kesel, P: Stuart Immonen, I: José Marzán Jr., C: Glenn Whitmore & Digital Chameleon, L: Albert DeGuzman) where we see him rip open a door with his bear hands as a member of Intergang (more on them later).
Tumblr media
Siobhan McDougal aka Silver Banshee makes her first appearance here in Action Comics 595 (cover by John Byrne). In the comics Silver Banshee's powers are a lot different than how MAwS does it. Comics Silver Banshee has the Banshee Curse giving her powers like flight, super strength, a death stare, and of course her signature thing, the Death Wail, a sonic scream that can knock someone into a coma or it outright kills them. The version in the show gives Silver Banshee her signature sound manipulation powers through a mask...
Tumblr media
which kind of invokes her comic counterpart's skull face design.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mist and Rough House break into Stryker's Island to free Mist's sister Silver Banshee (in the comics Mist and Silver Banshee have no familial connection). Stryker's Island makes its first appearance in Superman #9 (1987) (W&P: John Byrne, I: Karl Kesel, C: Tom Ziuko, L: John Costanza) where Joker arrives in Metropolis to challenge Superman. Stryker's Island is supposed to be a stand in for Riker's Island in New York even though there is a Riker's Island in the DC Universe because Metropolis is often a reflection of New York City.
Tumblr media
The next Easter egg is the scene after where Lois name drops Waid's Cafe as a reference to...
Tumblr media
Mark Waid, one the best writers in the comic book industry. In terms of DC work, you might recognize his writing credit on Flash with artist, Brian Augustyn (we miss you Brian), Kingdom Come with painter, Alex Ross, and Superman Birthright with artist, Leinil Yu (highly recommend checking out all three titles). He's also currently writing for Batman/Superman: Worlds Finest with artist Dan Mora, which I also HIGHLY recommend reading. Fantastic writer, super nice person if you ever meet him at a convention.
Later, Jimmy is heard screaming "back you monsters" and we see some more of the Daily Planet staff...
Tumblr media
From left to right its Cat Grant (doing the anime high society lady laugh), who runs the celebrity and gossip side of the paper, Steve Lombard, who reports on sports, and Ronnie Troupe, the investigative journalist on the team. Their names were mentioned in the previous episode after taking Lois, Jimmy, and Clark's credit for the Superman piece.
Tumblr media
Cat Grant make her first appearance here in the Adventures of Superman #424 (1987) (W: Marv Wolfman, P: Jerry Ordway, I: Mike Machlan, C: Tom Ziuko, L: John Costanza) as a potential love interest to Clark to shake up the Clark-Lois-Superman dynamic. You might've seen her in the live action CW Supergirl show. Like in MAwS, in the comics Cat does the gossip columns writing for the Daily Planet.
Tumblr media
Steve Lombard makes his first appearance in Superman #264 (1973) (W: Cary Bates, P: Curt Swan, I: Murphy Anderson) as a foil to Clark Kent. Steve acts very brash and rude to contrast Clark's mild manner and friendly demeanor. Later iterations of Steve give him the mustache that becomes part of his signature design.
Tumblr media
In MAwS, Ronnie Troupe is a gender swap of Ron Troupe in the comics who makes his first appearance in the Adventures of Superman #480 (1991) (this page specifically, W: Jerry Ordway, P: Tom Grummett, I: Denis Rodier, C: Glenn Whitmore, L: Albert DeGuzman). Like his MAwS counterpart, Ron is an investigative journalist and very level headed. He was the first to break the story about Cyborg Superman meeting the then PoTUS, Bill Clinton.
Tumblr media
A news report on TV in the Daily Planet shows Bethany Snow of Channel 52 News reporting about the break out in Stryker's Island. The logo for Channel 52 News reminds me very much DC's 2005 logo.
Tumblr media
As for Bethany Snow and Channel 52 News, Bethany made her first appearance in the New Teen Titans #22 (1982) (W: Marv Wolfman, P: George Perez, I: Romeo Tanghal, C: Adrienne Roy, L: Ben Oda) as a news reporter and follower of the Brother Blood cult.
Tumblr media
Later iterations and retcons had Bethany Snow as just a reporter where she does the Channel 52 news in the back end of DC comic titles in 2013.
Tumblr media
Freddie E. Williams II is the artist for these as Channel 52 was way to let readers know what is happening in other DC titles that they might want to check out with other DC characters reporters accompanying Bethany as seen in the promotional art with Vartox, Ambush Bug, and Calendar Man. Obviously MAwS redesigned Bethany Snow but they at least kept her occupation.
Tumblr media
A quick one but we see Lois call Clark "Smallville" a nickname that has been used in various media involving Clark and Lois.
After news report on TV, we cut to Siobhan, Kyle, and Rough House in their hide out where they name drop their group name, Intergang.
Tumblr media
In the comics and other media, Intergang is a world wide crime syndicate who is supplied with powerful high tech weaponry from the evil New Gods of Apocalypse, if you know your DC universe, that is everyone is Darkseid's circle. Intergang first appeared in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #133 (1970) created by LEGENDARY artist Jack Kirby.
Tumblr media
Here in Forever People #1 (1971) (W&P: Jack Kirby, I: Vince Coletta, L: John Costanza), you can see they have direct contact with Darkseid. Originally led by Morgan Edge, later versions of Intergang had leadership change from Joe Danton to Max Danner. Post-crisis, Intergang is led by Bruno Mannheim (the Intergang boss that I am familiar with), his father Moxie Mannheim would later lead Intergang. Current continuity in DC has Bruno still be the leader of Intergang.
In the episode we learn that MAwS version of Intergang is very small time. Siobhan, Kyle, and Rough House rob convenience stores and make smash and grab runs. But maybe MAwS will move Intergang in the criminal syndicate direction in the future who knows.
After the Intergang scene we cut to Lois, Jimmy and Clark walking up to the front of Stryker's and Jimmy mentions something interesting about convincing the warden to spill on the government's... (read Jimmys quote in the screenshot to complete the sentence)
Tumblr media
The term meta-human has its roots in the DC Universe if you did not know! The term was first used here in Invasion #1 (1988) (W: Keith Giffen and Bill Mantlo, P: Todd McFarlane, I: P. Craig Russell, C: Carl Gafford, L: Gaspar Saladino)
Tumblr media
In the comic, the Dominators discover that certain humans have what is known as the meta-gene which grants them powers when under a lot of duress and so to test this they rounded up a group of humans and experimented on them with only 6 surviving who gained powers. The Dominators conclude that the human population must be eliminated or there will be a rise in meta-humans on Earth.
How does the government, according to Jimmy, connect to all this. is a possible nod to one of the plot points in Doomsday Clock where the idea that 90% of DC's meta-humans are from the US and they have been engineered by the government. This conspiracy, in the comic is known as the Superman Theory.
Tumblr media
This here is one part of the back matter you can read at the end of Doomsday Clock # 5 (2018) (W: Geoff Johns, P&I: Gary Frank, C: Brad Anderson, Back Matter Design: Amie Brockway-Metcalf). Later the trio, specifically Lois, steals the warden's ID badge and were able to access where Siobhan was kept. On the ID the warden's name is Agatha Zorbatos, who's first appearance in the comics was in Batman #23.4 (2013), as the warden of Blackgate Penitentiary in Gotham
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously her design in the comic is drastically different from how she looks in the show. The one on your right is from Batman Eternal #4 (2014) (Story: Scott Snyder & James Tynion IV, Script: John Layman, Consulting Writers: Tim Seeley & Ray Fawkes, P: Dustin Nguyen (my favorite comic book artist of all time), I: Derek Fridolfs, C: John Kalisz, L: Rob Leigh).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the climax of the episode we see more of the alien crystal that Superman encountered last episode from the tech that MAwS Intergang used and it strangely looked familiar. I wouldn't be surprised if the animation team were fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion especially with the way the robots were designed in the first part of episode one and here how the crystal reshapes itself like the angel Ramiel. Also since I'm at my 30 image limit here and I can't post anymore, I also want to point out that the poster that Siobhan has in her cell was a cat with the words "Believe it" over its head I like to believe that is a Naruto reference because the dub has Naruto say "believe it" all the time. I guess I'm gonna be doing the Easter Eggs and references for each episode so expect this to be a weekly thing. I hope you all enjoy my doing this If you made it down here and want to see my first two easter eggs and reference posts for episodes one and two are here and here.
My post of episode three's easter eggs is here

Jewish refugees are begrudged that little sliver of refuge called Israel
By bataween on 14 December 2023
With the rise of antisemitism, Jewish refugees from Iran who found refuge in the USA now worry that they might have to uproot themselves once again. Alex Abel tells one’s family’s story in Jew in the City:
Tumblr media
Hebrew version of the 12th century Persian poet Nizami Ganjani’s “Khosrow va Shirin”.
In all this talk about the Jews “colonizing” Israel, so many don’t even know that Israel was the place Jews had to go to because they were kicked out of somewhere else. It wasn’t just a fun mission of conquering a land (which by the way is completely indigenous to the Jews), it was a place of refuge. For some, it was refuge after the Holocaust. For others, it was there when they were actually kicked out of all the other Arab lands around them.
Israel represents a little sliver of hope, freedom and simply existence for the Jewish people. That’s why it’s so infuriating that the world doesn’t even want to allow us that much.
Today, November 30, is the day the Israeli Knesset actually adopted as a national day of commemoration for the 850,000 Jewish refugees who were displaced from Arab countries and Iran in the 20th century.
Jews lived in Arab lands for thousands of years and many of their communities were actually there before the advent of Islam. In the 20th century, Arab nationalism rose around them and it was no longer safe to be a Jew in many of these places.
According to the Israeli government, “Arab states expropriated property of their native Jews, and denaturalized, expelled, arrested, tortured and murdered many of them.”
Ariel Homapour (who goes by Ariel Laurent now) knows this story well. His mother and father left Iran and Pakistan, respectively, after experiencing fear and oppression there. Ariel himself is the eldest child in his family and the first born outside of Iran in the last thousand years of his family’s history.
His father, Morris, left when he was just 16 years old in 1987. At that age, you could be drafted into the military in Pakistan. Laurent says they didn’t have time to actually train the teenagers taken into the army and even with that, would just take them straight to the frontlines right away and naturally, many were killed right away.
Ariel’s grandmother hid his father in an underground cellar for six months so he wouldn’t be drafted. After that, they paid someone who was driving a caravan to Iraq to smuggle him out (which was a common practice at the time). The first person they paid actually stole their money and left. The second worked out though and so Morris was driven covertly across the border.
Once they got there, they were getting shot at by the Islamic regime. He ran the rest of the way.
In Baghdad, there was no clean, running water. It was muddy, with worms coming out of it. He knew if he drank that water he would get very sick so lived off of Coca Cola for 5-6 weeks. From there, he took a flight to Vienna, Austria where he waited for a few months before he could get into the United States. He survived in Vienna by shoveling ice to make money.
When he got to America, he stayed with his uncle in Queens. He worked at a flea market selling random odds and ends and helped in the jewelry business. Eventually, he saved enough money to open a woman’s clothing store called High Image. It initially had just five to six items in the whole store. He grew this business to two different locations — in Brooklyn and Long Island that existed until right before Covid.
“He never really had a childhood,” Ariel shares. “He had to grow up really fast and always had to work hard. He never really had anybody to lean on. That’s the trauma of war, it’s really hard.”
Morris’s family in Iran owned many dry cleaning locations which were all pretty much taken away from them. The rest of his family stayed there until 2001 when they moved to Israel. It wasn’t until that year that Morris saw the rest of his family again — more than 20 years.
Ariel’s mother got to leave with her family, but didn’t know she was leaving for good until they never looked back.
They went to Israel from Iran to visit a sick relative but were planning to come back. Then, they didn’t. The revolution in Iran was getting so bad and being Jewish was such a fear, they decided to stay. They went back one time two years later to gather some of their personal belongings, but weren’t able to take all of it because so much had been seized by the government.
That was in 1978, when his mother was ten-years-old. She also demonstrated immense resilience amid the struggle to start over. In Israel, she was bullied because she couldn’t speak the language. When she was 12, in 1980, her family moved to America and she had to learn yet another new way to speak.
While the mountain felt almost too high to climb, she did it gracefully. She learned English, went to high school and college in America, grew to the top of her class and became a CPA.
His parents met each other when they were 26 at a wedding in New York.
Ariel’s parents made sure to keep their heritage alive in the next generation. Ariel and his two younger siblings speak Farsi. “They made sure I didn’t lose the Persian language,” he says. He grew up in Roslyn and didn’t learn English until he went to Kindergarten.
Now, his parents are having flashbacks to having to uproot their entire lives. With the rising antisemitism in the U.S., they’re scared. “They always say how much they sacrificed to get here,” he says. “It was always a land of refuge. It’s very traumatic for them with the rise of antisemitism.”

Constantine and Jericho resurrection au thingy
I don't have much context and idk if I'm gonna even write this but basically am au where Constantine and Jericho come back but as babies and it's just a mess because they both keep their bodies and minds but their bodies are babies and they keep their memories and thoughts and it gets confusing.
And Connie hadn't realised Jericho was back, his main focus was getting back to Joseph before he died, so Jericho was left in the cold massacre with Call, and Sarah had written kill the child because she'd thought Jericho was Constantine but Alistair thought she meant Call was Constantine and didn't realise Jericho was either twin.
When Jericho's body was about four/five he decided to just be honest with Alistair and tell him everything he knew. Alistair was confused but could tell Jericho was telling the truth. And Jericho did look like this old self, just as a five year old.
And then there's the moment of Alistair coming downstairs at like three am after another nightmare because I headcannon Alistair has nightmares and then he comes downstairs and finds like the nine year old version of his dead friend sat inside a kitchen cabinet and eating cereal straight from the box without milk.
Meanwhile Constantine is with Joseph this whole time, and so at the same time with Drew and eventually Alex. Neither twin knows the others alive. Constantine eventually starts to think of Drew and Alex as his brothers, and he gets less lonely, though he's still not mentally okay at all.
Jericho ends up being friends with Call and Aaron, but Tamara recognises his name and doesn't 100% trust him, especially when she finds out how much he knows about pre-war Constantine. When Jasper tries to tell Connie's story in that one chapter Jericho interrupts him, and he turns out to be way more accurate.
The night Call got Havoc, Havoc naturally liked Jericho a lot because he could sense a soul that was also touched by chaos. When Jericho woke up with a puppy in his arms it took him ten minutes to realise he's not in his old group and there shouldn't be a wolf in this one.
The twins first interaction in like twenty years was Jericho stopping Constantine killing Call because Connie thought Call killed Drew.
The magisterium didn't trust Constantine, for obvious reasons, but Jericho convinced them to let him in. It was at first just getting them to let Connie into the infirmary because he overused chaos again getting Drew's chaos elemental under control then summoning it when trying to murder Call. It wouldn't be that bad but he was sleeping deprived and didn't use a counterweight after having Drew or Alex as a counterweight (switched between them to make sure they didn't die like Jericho did) for years. Rufus let Connie in, and after a lot of convincing let Connie into his apprentice group again. Jericho was already in his apprentice group.
The twins personalities were sort of switched for a lot of copper year and the end of iron year. Jericho was familiar with the new magisterium and new students and everything that had changed, and was generally well liked, or at the very least had nothing against him. Connie didn't recognise half the magisterium and didn't know anyone there at all, and had a lot against him that everyone knew. He mostly just tried not to draw attention to himself and just spoke to himself and Jericho, and sometimes Call or Aaron if he needed to (Tamara straight up refused to talk to him).
Alistair did try to steal the Alkahest like what happened in cannon, this time to keep Call safe because he didn't think Call would be safe in an apprentice group with the literal Enemy Of Death. Constantine didn't know this at first, because obviously Tamara's family wouldn't be letting him stay at their house like they did for Aaron and Call. Since everyone thinks it was Connie or someone working for Connie who's trying to steal it, people hate him even more, and even Aaron glares at him and is mean to him. Jericho's the only one who believes that it's not him.
Jericho tries to prove it's not Connie by looking up stuff about the Alkahest. He finds out that it's made with mostly metal magic, and remembers Alistair is a metal mage, so tries to contact him for more information. Alistair doesn't give any, and is really awkward and nervous the moment Jericho brings the Alkahest up, which instantly makes Jericho suspicious of him.
Jericho attempts to sneak out to find out more, and he's caught by Constantine, who freaks out slightly thinking Jericho was running away. Jericho explains what he's doing, and Connie joins him, but that makes them have to go back to get Connie's stuff too. Then they're caught by Call, and they try to say that they're going to walk Havoc, but Call doesn't trust Connie with his dog, and starts arguing, and Aaron hears the argument and points out that they're packed like they're going somewhere for a while, and Tamara also hears and soon the whole group is arguing.
Jericho eventually just tries to explain what's actually going on, but Call refuses to accept Alistair could be guilty of anything, Aaron doesn't really want to accuse anyone of anything, and Tamara doesn't trust Connie or Jericho enough.
They end up all somehow sneaking out of the magisterium anyways, and being caught by Jasper like they are in cannon, though both Connie and Call are suggesting ways to kill Jasper and it's Jericho that threatens him with "Look, there are two Makars with us here and both of them are insanely powerful, so are you going to cooperate, or are you going to be a fucking idiot?". Jasper chose to cooperate.
The order of disorder didn't immediately trust the group when they saw Connie with them, but Master Lemual really didn't seem to give a shit or didn't recognise Connie or something and let him in. Call, Aaron and Tamara trusted Connie even less when they saw him commanding chaos-ridden.
Connie tried to convince Aaron to teach him how to hotwire a car when he found out Aaron could, but Aaron refused to.
Connie suspected Alex of being involved somehow when he saw automatons (idk if I spelled that right the big metal elemental), but didn't tell anyone just in case he was wrong.
Jericho ends up pushing Connie out of the way of the Alkahest when Alistair fired it at him, and in the same chapter Call was revealed to be naturally a Makar.
Tamara trusted Constantine and Jericho slightly more but not all the way after that, Jasper decided to just avoid the entire apprentice group (he's still probably being dragged back into this later).

Nonfiction Thursday: True Crime Picks
Behold the Monster by Jillian Lauren
He was sitting right across the table...and he would have killed her if he could. Jillian Lauren had no idea what she was getting into when she wrote her first letter to prolific serial killer Samuel Little. All she knew was her research had led her to believe he was guilty of many more murders than the three for which he had been convicted. While the two exchanged dozens of letters and embarked on hundreds of hours of interviews, Lauren gained the trust of a monster. After maintaining his innocence for decades, Little confessed to the murders of ninety-three women, often drawing his victims in haunting detail as he spoke. How could one man evade justice, manipulating the system for more than four decades? As the FBI, the DOJ, the LAPD, and countless law enforcement officials across the country worked to connect their cold cases with the confessions, Lauren's coverage of the investigations and obsession with Little's victims only escalated.
Lauren delivers the harrowing report of her unusual relationship with a psychopath - but this is more than a deep dive into the actions of Samuel Little. Lauren's riveting and emotional accounts reveal the women who were lost to cold files, giving Little's victims a chance to have their stories heard for the first time.
Fear is Just a Word by Azam Ahmed
Fear Is Just a Word begins on an international bridge between Mexico and the United States, as fifty-six-year-old Miriam Rodríguez stalks one of the men she believes was involved in the murder of her daughter Karen. He is her target number eleven, a member of the drug cartel that has terrorized and controlled what was once Miriam’s quiet hometown of San Fernando, Mexico, almost one hundred miles from the U.S. border. Having dyed her hair red as a disguise, Miriam watches, waits, and then orchestrates the arrest of this man, exacting her own version of justice.
Woven into this deeply researched, moving account is the story of how cartels built their power in Mexico, escalated the use of violence, and kidnapped and murdered tens of thousands. Karen was just one of the many people who disappeared, and Miriam, a brilliant, strategic, and fearless woman, begged for help from the authorities and paid ransom money she could not afford in hopes of saving her daughter. When that failed, she decided that “fear is just a word,” and began a crusade to track down Karen’s killers and to help other victimized families in their search for justice.
Tangled Vines by John Glatt
Among the lush, tree-lined waterways of South Carolina low country, the Murdaugh name means power. A century-old, multimillion-dollar law practice has catapulted the family into incredible wealth and local celebrity―but it was an unimaginable tragedy that would thrust them into the national spotlight. On June 7th, 2021, prominent attorney Alex Murdaugh discovered the bodies of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, on the grounds of their thousand-acre hunting lodge. The mystery deepened only months later when Alex himself was discovered shot in the head on a local roadside.
But as authorities scrambled for clues and the community reeled from the loss and media attention, dark secrets about this Southern legal dynasty came to light. The Murdaughs, it turned out, were feared as much as they were loved. And they wouldn’t hesitate to wield their influence to protect one of their own; two years before he was killed, a highly intoxicated Paul Murdaugh was at the helm of a boat when it crashed and killed a teenage girl, and his light treatment by police led to speculation that privilege had come into play. As bombshells of financial fraud were revealed and more suspicious deaths were linked to the Murdaughs, a new portrait of Alex Murdaugh emerged - a desperate man on the brink of ruin who would do anything, even plan his own death, to save his family’s reputation.
The Angel Makers by Patti McCracken
The horror occurred in a rustic farming enclave in modern-day Hungary. To look at the unlikely lineup of murderesses - village wives, mothers, and daughters - was to come to the shocking realization that this could have happened anywhere, and to anyone. At the center of it all was a sharp-minded village midwife, a "smiling Buddha" known as Auntie Suzy, who distilled arsenic from flypaper and distributed it to the women of Nagyrév. "Why are you bothering with him?" Auntie Suzy would ask, as she produced an arsenic-filled vial from her apron pocket. In the beginning, a great many used the deadly solution to finally be free of cruel and abusive spouses.
But as the number of dead bodies grew without consequence, the killers grew bolder. With each vial of poison emptied, a new reason surfaced to drain yet another. Some women disposed of sickly relatives. Some used arsenic as "inheritance powder" to secure land and houses. For more than fifteen years, the unlikely murderers aided death unfettered and tended to it as if it were simply another chore - spooning doses of arsenic into soup and wine, stirring it into coffee and brandy. By the time their crimes were discovered, hundreds were feared dead.
Anonymous notes brought the crimes to light in 1929. As a skillful prosecutor hungry for justice ran the investigation, newsmen from around the world - including the New York Times - poured in to cover the dramatic events as they unfolded.

Ghostly Hands and Spaces Spoken
Waking up to the man who had nearly killed you several times. Floating a couple inches above the floor staring at you with a deeply saddened look and ghostly tears falling down his cheeks and disappearing into the void.
He sat up in bed and stared at the older man (was he older now since he’s been dead for so long?), who was roughly 25 when he died. Jay couldn’t stop himself from starting to hyperventilate, said man had terrorized himself both in reality and within his mind for years in his dream.
“Leave, Leave me the fuck alone. I know you’re not real you son of a bitch” He was so tired, normally he didn’t swear all too much, but being around Tim caused him to become more like a sailor. Jessica had given him a sailor hat for him for his 35th birthday as a joke.
The slightly see-through version of Alex Kralie, who looked like on the day he laid on the floor of Benedict Hall. Finally gone and dead. The form jerked back and flinched. The tears streamed down the pale face quicker before disappearing.
Jay sat there rubbing at his oily face, rubbing at his eyes before promptly fixing his blankets and turning over to go back to sleep. His skinny form pressing more into the squishy mattress. The tension once in his shoulders slipped, before completely going back into the world of his Mono-colored dreams.
—-
The second time he was met with the pale ghostly figure of his ex-best friend was when Jay was cooking in the kitchen. The feeling of someone being behind him becoming too overwhelming. For god’s sake he was handling a pan on the stovetop.
Turning quickly to see what was behind him. A sharp pain in his elbow at him hitting a mason jar he had some of his water in. Using practically anything he could that could be used as a cup, so he didn’t have to purchase more stuff. A collection of mason jars, old sauce glasses and jars became his welcomed drinkware.
He watched as the glass fell about two inches towards the tiled kitchen floor before a pair of thin arms and hands grabbed the jar and placed it back onto the countertop. Familiar handmade wristbands on said wrists before they simply weren’t there again.
Taking food off of the hot stove making sure it wouldn’t burn. Jay turned to the fridge, pressing his warm forehead against the cool metal. Surely, he was going insane, which frankly he should have gone insane SEVERAL years ago. Hope being the only thing keeping him going and somewhat sane. It's hard to have hope when you don’t know what the fuck is going on.
Pushing off the cold comfort of the fridge, he went back to making his dinner. His eyes darted around the apartment, anxiety of what might come next. The Operator? The masked figures? He really couldn’t know, trying to have his heartbeat lessen as he ate his frankly delicious pasta.
—-
The next occurrence when he came home to his warm apartment. Soaking wet from a sudden thunderstorm, his whole body completely and utterly cold. His coat, hoodie and jeans were completely soaked through. Leaving Jay incredibly uncomfortable, huffing as he threw down his jacket and gloves, he detested but wore when it got too cold. He stomped to his room, taking a small note of how the cartage to the thermostat was hanging open.
Once he was dried off with one of his fluffy towels, in a long-sleeved sweater and some gray sweatpants and hiker socks. He walked back through the hallway. Closing the Thermostats cartage and looking at the temp. It was now a comfortable 70 Fahrenheit or 21 Celsius. He did not at all remember turning it up or having even touched it in the past weeks. Squinting at it before going back to the entrance to his apartment, going to hang up the sopping mess of his coat and gloves before they ruined the hardwood floor.
Walking up. He just stood there, looking at the wet sheen on the floor. His coat and mittens have been hung up on the coat rack on the back of his heavy wooden door. He fricken knew he didn’t at all put them, he actually threw them down in frustration and overstimulation.
Running his hand through his short hair, scratching at his scalp before sighing, rubbing the bags under his eyes before going to the kitchen to heat up some tea and make popcorn. He was too tired and cold for this shit.
—-
Today was the weekend, meaning Jay didn’t have to work at the library today. Tammy was aggressive over the weekend shifts, saying they were her time to ‘Get away from her kids and have some peace and quiet’. Jay frankly thought she needed therapy, allowing her to take the days and allowing him to have some time to himself at home.
It was around 6 pm, the sun started to set, leaving the warm light to pass through his windows as he watched some YouTube learning about some lost media that had caught his attention when passing through the suggested videos. The room grew colder, shifting, pulling the blanket completely over his lap he cocked his head when he saw the video suddenly stop.
Messing through his nest trying to find the remote and to see if he accidentally stopped it. Only to see it on his well-loved long coffee table. Grabbing the remote trying to un-pause the video, hitting the button three times before he huffed and tried to get up. A clearing of a throat before he froze in his position.
Glancing around a second before his eyes caught a see-through man, shots of warm light pushing through his chest as he sat in the lazy boy chair, he had sex up for Brian when he came over. Meeting the dull brown eyes of Alex Kralie.
“God, i'm hallucinating again aren’t I”
“No, you aren’t. Just being haunted.” Good, even better Jay thought before his mind caught up. Yeah, Alex had just spoken to him. The man who had been dead for ten years. He just blinked a couple times before chuckling bitterly.
“I need new fucking meds, don’t I?” This got a sigh and a rolling of the eyes from Maybe-not-Real-Alex. Jay just rubbed his hands through his hair anxiously and looked all over the pale blue-ish man. He was sitting stiff in the chair, like he knew he didn’t belong or was even welcomed. His hands laid out on his thighs. His clothes didn’t hold the grime Jay knew would have been there. Dirt, glass, twigs, mud and blood have stained most of the familiar clothing. He was just sitting there, looking incredibly uncomfortable and making micro movements Jay picked up. Like he wasn’t trying to scare him off.
“Jay, I wanted to talk to you” The words left the dry dead lips of Alex. They held so much consideration, sadness and hurt that it threw him off guard a bit.
“Yeah yeah okay. Um, go ahead?” He responded, what the fuck was he supposed to say? ‘No sorry dude, you’re not real and you tried to kill me’.
“First of all, I'm sorry I have been making you feel like you’re going insane. I really didn’t mean to cause that. Or even cause you any more stress.” There was a pause before he continued. “I also want to apologize to you, for everything. For nearly killing you several times, verbally and mentally abusing you. Being a huge fucking dick in general.” The hands were now pulling at the holes in the jeans, ripping them more open, though no noise caught Jay’s ears.
“I-I. When I died, I laid in the body for hours. I knew in some form of whatever the fuck was happening. I was being tortured for what I did in life. What I did in my final years. I stared at the ceiling for hours, my mind and body having finally been cleared from all of the cobwebs of. IT.” Alex said, still looking down at his jeans. And Jay was hit with the pain. Alex knew what he was doing but couldn’t stop it. He was altered, his body working without his want. His chest tightened and he let out a whimper.
“I'm sorry, i'm so fucking sorry. I'm sorry I wasn’t strong enough to fight it, to not hurt you guys. I didn’t want to let it win, and when I first died. I was so happy Tim had killed me. Ended it all. Before I opened my eyes and knew. In a new form. I was still alive.” The thin hands tightened, becoming even whiter at the pain radiating off of Alex.
Before Jay even knew it. He was off of the couch kneeling in front of the lazy boy. His own legs phasing through Alex with a gasp. Trying to hug the cold air that was there. There was a moment of silence, where he could tell that it wasn’t working in any form. His shoulders slumping as he holds his arms awkwardly in the air. Before he felt cold pressure of hands on his back and a press into his shoulder.
“Alex, I'm sorry that I wasn’t there for you. I'm sorry that I brought your living nightmare back to you again. To make it even worse.” He felt his long-sleeved worn-out shirt being scrunched up. The sound of a voice coming close but softly near his right ear.
“Jaybird, don’t apologize to me, I should be yelling sorries to you until I cannot” As he started to move away, Jay felt the cold pressure let go quickly before he sat on the floor in a way more comfortable position.
“I forgive you.” He stared blankly at the blue-ish see-through man in front of him. Alex just stared back at him. Eyes wide and mouth open and gaping. Jay took notice of the bandage now wrapped around the thin neck, hiding away the fatal wound that had killed him.
“...Why”
“It's been ten years for start, and about a year after me, Tim and Brian moved away. I started therapy. I have gotten over your death in the best part I can. I separate college you from, Sickness you.” He spoke matter of factly. Picking at his cuticles as he waited for the other to respond.
“But- when you caught me watching over you- you. Acted like. You spoke with such hate” The taller man whimpered, messing with his clothes again with such anxiety, it made Jay wish he could grab the other’s hand and keep it still.

"what choice do you have?" ↳ @surviveds
a decade ago?  he had many choices.  he made a long, fulfilling life out of one lie.
the fall of the world was a chance to reinvent himself,  to put the person he was expected to be to rest.  maybe that version of himself,  the person who was forced to strive for perfection,  the one his father and his sister had been so hard on,  he died then,  born anew,  into something he wishes he'd been from the start.
his sister's words ring through him, constantly, as if he hadn't thought about it all these years:  he has a gift that he could have been using to save lives.  that's true.  but it didn't fulfill him back then,  and he was certain that,  in a world like this,  it would have killed him this time.  maybe it still will,  now that he's back in a labcoat,  the place he thought he was free from.
ezekiel's initiative makes it tolerable;  it makes him feel like he can save people's lives without feeling like he's some kind of puppet,  without the expectations clouded above him;  there's freedom in that, and it makes his job much more efficient,  like he hasn't been locked in some kind of cage.  ezekiel, alex, theo -- they've all helped him with that.
❝  well,  i suppose i don't have many left now, do i?  ❞   he admits, though there isn't bitterness in his tone this time  (  not when he's around people like alex, who've seen through the cracks of the system.  )   ❝  they made sure of that.  my own fault for not being honest about my past to begin with, i imagine, but---  i hope you don't mind me admitting,  i don't regret the years i spent here living a lie.  baking cakes in that shop,  those were the best years of my life.  ❞   or rather, the healthiest -- he was much less hard on himself as a baker,  the pressure no longer drowning him, turning him to a bottle.  he felt free.  are there people out there who understand that feeling, or is it something he should keep to himself?
❝  i understand what a privilege it is to say that, given all you've endured out there.  my apologizes for that.   i suppose there is certainly comfort in the way this feels like the old world -- people like me don't have to know what it's like to fail out there.  and, well, people who are brave like my sister, they survive out there.  ❞   he nods to alex,  flashing a warm smile.  ❝  you've survived this long.   how disorienting this must be for you, still, right?  ❞

An Introduction to Alex Evergreen.
AKA, "you know what I really should put my stuff on tumblr"
This is my official introduction to my guy, my muse, my blorbo Alex Evergreen. he lives in my head rent free and has consumed my waking thoughts for the last YEAR.
long post, content under the cut.
he is:
lonely
very smart
absolutely terrible at introspection. he's an idiot.
independent. too much so for his own good, really. once flew across the Atlantic ocean when he was 12. without telling anyone. because he wanted to visit his friend who had gone home for the summer.
I love him
has a collection of highly ironic t-shirts. the t-shirts vary by au but options include "science: like magic but real" when he's a wizard.
ask me about the t-shirts.
quiet
HUGE nerd.
forgets to be quiet when he's being a nerd
he is very hard to befriend but is INTENSELY ride-or-die
appears tolerant and chill until you cross a line, and then he will end you. he once sent himself to the hospital due to blood loss as part of his plan to get back at someone.
he buried someone alive in the woods when he was 16. because he didn't want to hurt them and needed them out of the way.
Background: he is, unfortunately, rooted in HP because he's a result of me saying "what if harry was replaced with someone who behaves entirely differently, with the exact same background?". JKR sucks and is transphobic, pass it on.
among other things, he:
figured out he had powers when he was 8 or 9. however, he assumed that he was force-sensitive rather than a baby wizard.
befriended multiple garden snakes
stuck the hogwarts letter up his shirt when he got it, thus avoiding the whole letters incident
decides staying with the Dursleys for the rest of the summer would be stupid and boring and gets money for transit to London from Vernon with the promise that he'll be out of Vernon's hair until next summer.
he rents the smallest room he can find in diagon alley. not bc of price but because normal sized rooms feel too big to him.
sorts slytherin. this is not taken well by anyone. this eleven year old is met with DEAD SILENCE from the entire great hall because they either are shocked that their little baby hero got the evil house or because they've taken this as a sign that he's the next dark lord.
allows himself to be befriended by draco because he can tell that draco has a lot of social power and figures that standing behind the bully is better than getting picked on by them
fights the troll- reason varies by au. in the original/base au he does it bc he realizes that if someone gets pasted by a troll they might close the school. in the "true" version he does it to protect someone who was kind to him.
he knows far more spells than Harry and Ron did, but none of them are effective on a troll, which is resistant to magic. his strategy is to make it mad and stall for time until the teachers arrive.
is terrible at quidditch
this causes quirrel to put a snake under his bed instead of trying to make him fall off a broom
he convinces the snake not to kill him
is entirely disinterested in the philosopher's stone and the third floor corridor
"someone's trying to steal the infinite money and live forever stone? sounds like a problem for adults."
not that he thinks adults are competent enough to stop it happening. he just doesn't care.
the mirror of erised works as intended, actually, if quirrel ever gets there.
quirrel probably either takes one last stab at alex before going for the stone or is unsuccessful and returns to trying to kill alex while he works on that. alex uses the protection his mother gave him to kill quirrel.
while fighting quirrel doesn't really make sense, I wanted to keep that in so that the main events in following books would still happen.

Alan Wake II
2010's Alan Wake would be high in the running for my most disappointing game ever. The open world tale of a frustrated writer whose stories start bleeding into reality released five years after it was announced (considered a VERY long development period at the time). The setup, vibes, and look of the game landed for me, but the gameplay killed it. It felt like the devs kept throwing combat encounters at me so I wouldn't get bored. I came back to the game several times over the years and bounced off each time.
Tumblr media
This process was repeated with Remedy's 2019 release Control. Fascinating fiction, writing, style, and world building with rotten combat and an obtuse map. So any sane person would not fall for it yet again with Alan Wake II. Certainly not as a full price release. Thankfully this time it was different.
Well, different enough.
The way Remedy designs action and traversal in their games just fundamentally does not mesh with me. It's the inverse of the old Blizzard secret sauce. I don't think they are Bad at it since I'm in a minority with that opinion, but as much as I am drawn into the world, the part where I am pressing buttons often yanks me back out. Thankfully Alan Wake II is heavy on the story and aesthetics and lighter on the action.
Tumblr media
Remedy's worldbuilding is second to none. I immediately fell in love with the cast and the "every person in this town is just a little bit off" presentation. Saga Anderson and her partner Max Payne Sam Lake Alex Casey as FBI agents investigating a disappearance in this fucked up little Twin Peaks town is just what my wife and I needed for a few weeks in November.
The game opens on a grizzly murder in the woods followed by a weird interaction in the local diner and it just spirals out from there. There's a cult of people in deer masks, dead naked dudes walking out of Cauldron Lake, a defunct coffee-themed amusement park, and the Koskela Brothers with their wonderful commercials. And good old Ahti. It's a rich tapestry of weirdness and I love it.
Tumblr media
Like with 2019's excellent 13 Sentinels, early on I decided to just go along for the ride wherever the writers wanted to take me rather than try to hyper analyze it all. Alan Wake is trapped in the lake and he has to write himself out but there's a bad version of him named Mr Scratch who is already out causing trouble and wait now the real Alan is out too? Also Alan made his fame writing a fictional detective named Alex Casey and one of the agents investigating him is also named Alex Casey? And Thomas Zane and Barbara Jagger and and and...
Alan has written Saga Anderson into his story as the hero in an attempt to free himself from the Dark Place* and in the process has endangered her and those close to her. Maybe? Everything that happens has to be filtered through your "This might not be real" filter. Eventually Alan escapes the Dark Place and the game has you switch between playing as Alan and Saga in an attempt to unravel all the strange happenings in the town of Bright Falls.
Tumblr media
Along your journey you will encounter a murderer's row of memorable weirdoes:
Saga's FBI partner Alex Casey. Alex Casey is also the name of the protagonist in Alan Wake's bestselling series of books. Total coincidence.
Rose. She works in the Oh Deer! diner in town. The first time you meet her, she addresses you by name as if she's known you for years and gives her condolences for the passing of your daughter last year. The one you just talked to on the phone.
Jaarko and Illmo Koskela. These guys run a wildlife tour in the area as well as the Coffee World amusement park. Their live action commercials are a highlight of the game.
Tor and Odin Anderson. These two old guys live in the local retirement home, but they used to be in a band called The Old Gods of Asgard.
Thomas Zane. He apparently disappeared into the lake decades ago much like Alan. He made a short little arthouse film that I watched in the game.
Ahti. The cryptic janitor from Control appears in this game as well. I love him.
Warlin Door. He's the late-night talk show host frequently interviewing a confused Alan Wake. He's definitely a key player in the story and I still am not 100% sure how.
Tumblr media
The confidence they show in wedging live action sequences and frequent references to their past work into their video game is the work of a development team at the height of its power. Two musical numbers stand out in the game: "Herald of Darkness" which everyone knows and was performed live at the 2023 game awards, and "Dark Ocean Summoning" which was less acclaimed but awfully damn cool.
A lot of the videogame-y parts didn't land for me. I didn't enjoy the combat, I found much of the Alan gameplay tedious, and the Mind Place / Storyboard elements are better on paper than in practice. No matter, the game's highs are so high, and the things it gets right work so well that I can overlook its shortcomings. I'll take ambitious and flawed over safe and rote any day.
youtube
I'm invested in this story and this world now. I'm onboard for the ongoing mysteries surrounding Saga's origins and her daughter, Alan's madness and Alice's...well, Alice's whole deal. Alan Wake 3, the inevitable Alan Wake 2 DLC, Control 2...I'm in for whatever's next.
*Alan is not an especially strong writer.

Family Guy Characters Who Died
1. Mayor Adam West - There may be a few entries on this list that are the result of their voice actors dying in real life. Former Batman actor Adam West voiced a fictional and eccentric version of himself, as the mayor of Quahog. Unfortunately, the real life West died in 2017, and after all his unused dialogue was used, the show runners had to retire the character and pay a homage to the late actor by renaming the high school to Adam West High.
2. Angela - Like Mayor West, this character was tragically killed because of her voice actor, Carrie Fisher, having unfortunately died in 2016. The season 17 episode “Pawtucket Pete” begins with Peter giving a touching eulogy for his old boss, while also paying homage to Fisher’s best known role as Princess Leia Organa from Star Wars. Unfortunately, in classic Family Guy fashion, Peter gives his eulogy at the wrong funeral.
3. Brian Griffin - My criteria is the character has to have been killed and remain dead for the rest of the episode, and remain dead for at least another full episode. In season 12, Brian was hit by a car and died from his injuries. The grieving Griffins decide to get a new dog named Vinnie, and for the next two episodes, Vinnie replaces Brian in the theme song. However, at the end of “Christmas Guy,” Stewie miraculously brings Brian back via time travel, making all those crying viewers feel stupid for getting those “R.I.P. Brian” tattoos.
4. James Woods - Like Brian, he was axed and brought back. In the season 9 premiere “And Then There Were Fewer,” James Woods had become a born again Christian, and invites pretty much all of Quahog to a dinner party to make amends with everyone he’s ever wronged. The Griffins weren’t the only victims of his antics. Unfortunately, he was killed by TV news coanchor Diane Simmons after he dumped her for turning 40. However, he reappeared a season later, and explained that since he’s a Hollywood actor, he gets better health care than regular people, being given the life force of a 17 year old girl, raising him from the dead. Now he’s no longer in the show due to his real-life counterpart’s staunch conservatism and controversial tweets.
5. Thelma Griffin - Peter’s mother, who has actually had three voice actors, two of whom have passed away. She appeared in cutaways in season 2, voiced by the late Florence Stanley, but made several appearances in seasons 5 and 6, voiced by the late Phyllis Diller. In season 5, she reveals that she divorced Peter’s father and dated TV news anchor Tom Tucker for a bit. She then appeared in two more episodes informing Peter that his real father is a drunken Irish man named Mickey McFinnigan, and that Peter was actually born in Mexico when she tried to terminate her pregnancy after her affair with McFinnigan, resulting in Peter’s birth. When Phyllis Diller died, the creators decided to retire her character. She last appeared in a flashback scene, voiced by Alex Borstein, who voices Lois.
6. Francis Griffin - Peter’s devout Irish Catholic father, who puts his faith and his work above all else, including his own son. Francis disapproves of Peter’s lifestyle and hates Lois for being Protestant. He does, however, love Peter, even though he doesn’t like him at all. In “Peter’s Two Dads,” at Meg’s birthday party, Peter gets drunk and accidentally kills Francis. In the hospital, his last words were to tell his son he was a fat, stinkin’ drunk. The same episode reveals that Francis is actually not Peter’s real father, as Peter’s mother took a vacation in Ireland and had an affair with Mickey McFinnigan. Francis appears as a ghost to remind Peter that he is a fat, stinkin’ drunk, just like his father, and that motivates Peter to prove to Mickey that his is, in fact, Peter’s father.
7. Diane Simmons - Introduced in the beginning of the series as the Channel 5 Action News coanchor next to Tom Tucker, the pair started having fun and witty banter during their news segments. As the series progressed, however, their back-and-forth has become more hostile. In “And Then There Were Fewer,” she was the mastermind behind all the murders at James Woods’s dinner party, including Woods himself, Stephanie, Pricilla, Derek Wilcox, and Muriel Goldman. She was close to killing Lois too, before Stewie shoots Diane from a distance, causing her to fall to her death off the cliff into the rocks below. Stewie then declares that if anyone was gonna “take that bitch down,” it’d be him, as only he had the right to kill Lois.
8. Jonathan Weed - Peter’s old boss back at the Happy Go Lucky Toy Factory. He’s a boss first, and friend second. He fires Peter for negligence in the pilot after the latter shows up to work with a hangover. Of course, like all cartoons, when the main character loses their job, they end up getting it back in the end of the episode. Up until the Griffins invite Mr. Weed to dinner and end up getting Peter an upcoming promotion. The shock of the news causes Brian to choke on a dinner roll, and after having the Heimlich maneuver performed in him, the roll flies into Weed’s throat, causing him to choke to death. His death causes the toy factory to be demolished in his will, eliminating Peter’s job.
9. Doug- Hot take time: I NEVER cared for Doug. He was introduced as another toddler voiced by a mature man, who would share a few back-and-forth banters with Stewie, until the writers decided to make them rivals, because clearly we need another rivalry with a main character. It’s not like we already have Peter and Ernie, Peter and Carter, and Brian and Quagmire. Their rivalry reaches an all time high when they both run for an election for their daycare’s snack captain. Stewie ends up winning because he has revealed at the end of “The Candidate” that Doug has died in a commuter plane crash. He was a smug asshole and I’m indifferent to the fact that he died.
10. Muriel Goldman - Mort’s wife and Neil’s mother, both she and Mort were introduced when Meg ended up kissing Neil, and like all cartoons, the parents have to look EXACTLY identical to their kid! She was one of the last victims of Diane’s killing spree. Turns out she was not exactly missed by Neil. Or Mort for that matter. The only thing the latter missed about her was the fact that they were married.

"I've never gone all out before. I'll show you what I can do."
I enjoyed the duel with Rakepick in chapter 42 and all, but I really wish it was more epic. In my headcanon, Sarahi uses the smokescreen spell, Fumos, to distract Rakepick and when the smoke cleared, she'd literally pointed dozens of arrows at her. That was obviously not good.

Made a loading screen version too because it was fun.

"Happy Birthday Sarahi..."
Today is 11 September 2021, therefore mine, and Sarahi's birthday! I'm always just overly excited on my birthday for no reason whatsoever. I guess while I'm not exactly ready to grow up, I do find it amazing, personally, that I am, in fact, getting older. As of today, I am now 19 years old, but my brain mostly goes towards the fact that I will be 20 next year. It feels weird to me, but it's also rather thrilling.
I always make a birthday drawing for myself in advance, but I was late this year and only finished this soft Saranby piece at 5 PM. I have to say, I think this is the softest Sarnaby drawing I have made to date. I wanted to make this last year, as this is something that happens in Year 6, when Sarahi turns 17, but I forgot then, so I made it this year instead.
In Year 6, Sarahi doesn't spend her birthday with her friends. After putting on the dress Andre had given her as an early present, she goes to Diagon Alley to wait for Jacob, who had promised a week ago that he would show up for her birthday. He did show up, and presented Sarahi with a music box he had finished recently. Sarahi spent as much time as possible with him, but Jacob had to leave quickly. Even then, she only returned to Hogwarts in the evening. By then, her friends had already gotten worried and had been looking for her for hours. Barnaby eventually finds Sarahi in the Astronomy tower as it was getting dark, playing the tune of the music box on repeat. Soon enough, he sits down next to her and asks her where she had been. Sarahi explained where she was all day and her concerns, seemingly uncomfortable. Barnaby is thoughtful as ever, decides not to pry further, and just spends the evening with Sarahi, giving her as much affection as he possibly could. The two spent a while in the Astronomy tower, before Sarahi agreed with him to go have dinner and see her friends. At dinner, everyone is happy to finally see her (especially Andre who is so proud of himself for making the dress), and give presents of their own to Sarahi. She also recieves some gifts from her muggle friends back home.

SPOILERS for Year 6 Chapter 18 and later
OKAY I JUST REALIZED THIS BUT HEAR ME OUT-
Tagging my fellow Rowan lovers/friends because I think you may like this?
@weasley-adoptee @wandsandrings @adellovesrowan @carewyncromwell @carmilla-the-bird
So we know that Jam City apparently “had to” kill Rowan off in Year 6 Chapter 18 because we know in canon she’s not the youngest Professor at Hogwarts.
BULLSHIT!!!!!
That “canon” problem could have EASILY been avoided by making it so Rowan DID become the youngest Professor, but AT ANOTHER SCHOOL!
Imagine this: Rowan is gravely injured by a considerably less lethal curse (than Avada Kedavra at least). Her parents now are terrified of literal attempted murder, and decide to switch her school for her last 2 years of education.
Rowan could be left with scars like the ones @immagrosscandy once made? And once she has recovered in the Hospital Wing, we visit her, and she gives MC the news.
NO ONE IS HAPPY ABOUT THIS. ROWAN DON’T WANNA LEAVE. MC DON’T WANT HER TO LEAVE. BUT MC KNOWS THEY’LL BE SAFE SOMEWHERE ELSE. THERE IS CRYING. THERE IS GONNA BE A TEARFUL GOODBYE. THERE WILL BE THE PROMISE THAT WE WILL ALWAYS BE BEST FRIENDS! THERE WILL BE THE PROMISE OF WRITING TO EACH OTHER AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE!
And you know where Rowan goes? The Brazilian Wizarding School, Castleobruxo! Maybe let’s assume she has some family there. And that’s when Alanza comes in! (Alternatively, Ilvermorny is also an option, but I’m just saying.)
And because we had to let go of Rowan because of Rakepick’s antics, the Circle of Khanna could still be made in her honor. And once we’ve thoroughly kicked Rakepick’s ass, write to Rowan about it, and she replies “I’d normally pummel her with my extensive vocabulary of profanities, but I’m not going to write them down. I hope you gave her a couple punches from me.”
BONUS: The Head Kid TLSQ
MC writes to Rowan that Dumbledore offered us the position. Rowan writes back saying she’s proud of us, and also writes some stuff in Portugese (with translations), while excitedly telling us that she’s picking up the language and getting better, and how amazing Castleobruxo is. MC misses her extremely so we can’t share her enthusiasm very much even when we try. The whole “Dream Rowan” conversation could happen, instead, when Rowan sends MC a letter encouraging them to take it up.
In the end, MC sends her another letter saying we got the position and the badge, and we go the extra mile of even sending her the badge so she can see it. Rowan is already doing excited SQUEEEEEEEEEE at breakfast because she’s so proud of her bestie… and she sees that MC sent her two badges- one with MC’s name, and one with ‘Rowan Khanna’ on it. In the letter, MC has written, “Thank you for encouraging me, Rowan, but I will always feel like this position should have been yours. I may be the Head Girl now, but I choose to stand in your place. In the meantime, I requested Dumbledore get a badge for you too. You’re still my Head Girl, and that will never change. I hope you find it as shiny as I do.”
And Rowan fucking cries, like “That’s my best freind, right there!” Feeling a little bad that MC misses her so much, she sends MC her badge back with a letter and a surprise.
“Thanks for getting a badge for me, MC! I love it! Now you take yours and put it on, and remember that we now have matching badges! I miss you too, and I know you do as well, so I decided to send you a gift- the very thing that began our friendship in the first place. You’re my best friend, and I’m trusting you with this. Take care of it, yeah? Love you!”
Lo and behold, Rowan has sent MC the item from the beginning of the game- The scarf, hat, or sweater. AND WE. FUCKIN. TREASURE IT. LIKE WE DO ANYWAY.
As for the future, she tells us that she wants to continue studying at Castleobruxo and become a professor there. And MC and friends will be supportive!
Bottom line is, A LOT OF LETTERS.
TAKE THAT JAM CITY SHITHEADS! I FIXED YOUR PLOT LIKE I ALWAYS DO!

izzie’s favorite movies and tv shows of 2020 (aka the worst year ever)
another year, another movie and tv show review. this year has, to put it simply, sucked. 2020 has been so terribly awful that sometimes the only light you can see are the absolute bangers of movies and tv shows that came out this year. with that being said, some of the movies and tv shows didn't come out in 2020. if the are mentioned in this post it is because they either: had a season come out this year, i found them this year, or they became popular this year.
SPOILERS: it may not come as a surprise but just in case you didn't realize, there will be many spoilers ahead, read at your own risk.
tw // death, suicide, drug use, mild adult language. if any of these things might trigger you, i strongly urge you not to read this post.
there is no specific order of these shows and movies, i'm just writing as they come to mind. if you enjoy any of these movies or tv shows, or if you have any suggestions for me, please let me know!
TV SHOWS
1) Santa Clarita Diet
Okay, so I know this show doesn't have anything to do with 2020. But, I found this show in 2020. I put it off for a while, thinking it wasn't my style of a show, but boy was I wrong. I loved this show. Sheila Hammond (Drew Barrymore) is a normal suburban wife and mom. She is a real estate agent with her husband Joel (Timothy Olyphant). She struggles with the fact that she isn't very adventurous. This all changes when she throws up an insane amount at a house showing. She then finds herself craving adventure, and craving human flesh. Yeah, she's a zombie. Not only is this show super hilarious, but it also shows the growth that they have with their characters and their family. I'm also team Abby (Liv Hewson) and Eric (Skyler Gisondo).
Tumblr media
2) Outer Banks
So, I'm from NC. And, watching this show at first bothered me because I can very obviously tell this show isn't actually filmed in the obx, and the geography isn't exact, but once I got past that, I loved it. John B (Chase Stokes) is a teenager that lives in the poor side of the outer banks. He has a friend group called the Pogues which consists of JJ (Rudy Pankow), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Kie (Madison Bailey). They absolutely hate the Kooks, which are the rich kids. A while after John B's dad gets lost at sea, presumed dead, the group finds some evidence that may solve the mystery, and make them rich. In the process, John B falls in love with a Kook names Sarah (Madelyn Cline) whose father Ward (Charles Esten) may have a little more to do with the mystery than he let on. Through friendship, murder, and secrets, the gang may just figure out what happened to John B's dad.
Tumblr media
3) Love, Victor
Alright. I loved loved loved Love, Simon. I also really loved the book "Simon vs. the Homosapien Agenda." So, when I heard about this show, I was so excited. Victor (Michael Cimino) is a teenage boy that moved to Creekwood with his family. He meets Felix (Anthony Turpel) who lives in his building. He also meets Mia (Rachel Hilson) and they begin dating. But, he also meets Benji (George Sear). While trying to get used to a new school, new friends, and a new relationship, Victor finds himself questioning his sexuality. With the help of Simon (Nick Robinson) and his friends, Victor finds it in himself to finally come out, and he admits his feelings, for Benji. This is such a good show, but I was so upset when season 1 ended on a cliff-hanger.
Tumblr media
4) The Haunting of Bly Manor
The sequel to The Haunting of Hill House. Now listen, haunting of hill house was an absolute banger. When I saw that Bly came out I nearly died. I was so excited. But, I was alone in my apartment and also a lil bitch. So, I had to wait a week until I was home with my family to watch it. Now, I was so excited to be scared, and there were a few jump scares and ominous moments, but this season was more centered around the story line of Dani Clayton (Victoria Pedretti) and her new life in a foreign country. When seeing an ad for a live in job as an au pair. When she gets there, she meets the two young children she’ll be looking out for and the other workers of the house, including the gardener, Jamie (Amelia Eve). Throughout her stay at Bly she begins to notice weird behaviors from both children and by the end of the series she sacrifices herself for the children. Sadly, this story is being told by Jamie who Dani had fallen in love with during her stay at Bly. Now I was somewhat upset about the lack of horror, but was still very intrigued and drawn in by this series.
Tumblr media
5) Julie and the Phantoms
Alright, at first I was not gonna watch this show. I thought it looked a little too young and childish for me, but everyone was talking about it on twitter so I had to. I. Love. This. Show. This show centers around Julie (Madison Reyes). Julie is a teenage girl who, sadly, lost her mother. The one major thing she shared with her mom, was their love for music. Since her mothers passing, she gave up music. This is until, dead musicians from the 90′s show up in her garage. Luke (Charlie Gillespie), Alex (Owen Joyner), and Reggie (Jeremy Shada) all tragically passed away in the 90′s after eating bad street hotdogs. When Julie finds their CD in her garage, she decides to play it and they come back in ghost form. But, only she can see them. With their help, she finds her confidence to play music again. Also, she has to find away for them to stay because they’re slowly disappearing.
Tumblr media
6) Derry Girls
Bitch. I love this show. And yeah it didn’t come out in 2020. Shut up. I found this show recently after watching the cast on the holiday special of the Great British Baking Show. I loved the actors so I had to watch the show. This show focuses on Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson) a 16 year old girl that lives in Derry, Northern Ireland in the 90′s. Alongside her is her cousin Orla (Louisa Harland), her two friends Clare (Nicola Coughlan) and Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), and Michelle’s English cousin James (Dylan Llewellyn). During these years, a lot of people in Ireland struggled, especially because it was during wartime. Even thought this show isn’t focused heavily around the war, it’s amazing to see these teens live a fulfilling life while struggling with the state of their country, and the lack of money that their families have.
Tumblr media
7) Elite
HA. This show did have a season in 2020 so leave me alone. But bro, I love this show. At first, I didn’t watch it because I thought I could only watch the dubbed version in English, which I hate. I hate dubbed shows they look so weird. But, once I found out I could watch this show in Spanish, I fell in love. But, sadly, theres too damn much to talk about in one little post. It’s crazy. But basically it just follows the lives of teens in high school that are trying to survive. And no, not in the “I’m surviving high school,” sense. No, people be getting murdered.
Tumblr media
MOVIES (tbh i didn’t find a lot of movies good this year lmk which movies u liked this year and maybe i’ll like them!)
1) All the Bright Places
After the death of her sister, Violet (Elle Fanning) is devastated. She closes herself off, and has her parents get her out of doing school work that involves working with others. But, as time goes on, they realize she may need to start to move on. Violet then meets Finch (Justice Smith) who is enamored by Violet. He suggests they do a project together. While finding and visiting some of the smallest wonders of their state, they begin to fall for each other. While you are focusing on Violet and her mental health, you tend to miss some of the signs that Finch’s mental health isn’t great either, but by the time you do, it could be too late.
Tumblr media
2) Dangerous Lies
Hmm. This was weird for me. I had only ever seen Camila Mendes in Riverdale, and honestly, not a fan. So, Katie (Camila Mendes) and her husband Adam (Jessie T. Usher) are struggling with money. Katie decides to take a job working for an elderly man, and eventually gets her husband hired there as well. Unfortunately, he dies, but for some odd reason, leaves the house and all of his fortune, to Katie. As they get comfortable in the house, they begin to uncover some very weird and dangerous lies.
Tumblr media
3) The Devil All the Time
Ok. Iconic. You got so many hot men in this movie. Bill Skarsgård, Sebastian Stan, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson. C’mon now. That’s crazy. But, this story is so long and in depth that I wouldn’t even know where to begin. This movie is a bit disturbing. It involves murder, sexual assault, killing of animals, and so much more so if that’s an issue for you please do not watch this movie. It was also quite long, but it was still good.
Tumblr media
4) After We Collided
Okay just listen. I was that teenager. I read wattpad stories and was, embarrassingly, addicted to After. This was not a great movie per say, but it was After. This is a sequel to the movie After. This movie centers around Tessa (Josephine Langford) and her recovery after her breakup with Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin). Theres sex, alcohol, bad acting. The whole nine-yards. But c’mon, they’re so cute together.
Tumblr media
5) To All the Boys p.s. I Still Love You
Okay it was a good movie. I enjoyed it. This movie focuses on Lara Jean (Lana Condor) and her boyfriend Peter (Noah Centineo) and their relationship post the first movie. But of course relationships aren’t super steady, and John Ambrose McClaren (Jordan Fisher) shows up. Yeah, John Ambrose, from her letter. They become closer and Lara Jean has to decide who she wants to be with. Spoiler, it’s Peter. BOOOOOOO justice for John Ambrose McClaren, he deserved better.

The Democratic establishment
Tumblr media
Sometimes, a casual conversation turns out to be prophetic and stays with you for decades to come. In 2006, I had lunch at the LA World Science Fiction Convention with Eric Flint when the subject of Barack Obama came up. I admitted that his incredible rhetoric gave me hope.
Flint - a union organizer from Chicago - quickly disabused me. Obama, he said, was a Chicago Machine Democrat, and that meant he was a cynical horse-trader whose version of "democracy" was for insiders to do deals in back-rooms, without accountability or transparency.
Those words stayed with me through the Obama years, as Obama literally shut off the server that grassroots organizers used to coordinate the campaign that got him elected and told us all to shut up and go away so he could strike deals with the GOP to get stuff done.
Flint's compact description of Chicago Democrat politics has been an invaluable guide to understanding everything from Rod Blagojevich's criminal corruption to Lori Lightfoot's ghastly handling of the Black Lives Matter uprising last summer.
Above all, Flint's description is how I've come to understand Rahm Emanuel, a terrible person even by the standards of the Chicago Democratic machine, whom Obama brought into the White House, evidently a necessity of Byzantine Democratic machine politics.
There's no other way to say this: Emanuel is a piece of shit.
He's an emotionally incontinent, corrupt bully, a guy who once stabbed a table "while shouting the names of people who betrayed Bill Clinton."
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2008/11/17/emanuel-in-full
It's not like Democrats don't know this. Obama himself once joked that after Emanuel accidentally cut off part of his middle finger, it "rendered him practically mute."
https://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/31/us/rahm-emanuel-shows-his-softer-side-in-chicago-mayoral-runoff.html
It's not just his demeanor, it's his actions. Emanuel's turn as Mayor of Chicago included an all-out blitz to suppress the footage of a Chicago police officer murdering Laquan McDonald, a Black 17 year old.
https://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/30/opinion/cover-up-in-chicago.html
If the Biden administration was the progressive bastion we're hoping for, it would be distancing itself from Emanuel. Instead, it's embracing him.
As Alex Shephard writes for the New Republic, the Biden admin is running two very distinctive federal jobs programs.
The first is the progressive infrastructure/clean energy/health program in the American Jobs Plan.
https://newrepublic.com/article/162367/why-rahm-emanuel-japanese-ambassador
That program will spend $2t to create hundreds of thousands of good jobs where hard-working Americans will be well-compensated as they labor to repair America's sagging infrastructure, care for its sick people, and transition it to sustainable energy.
But there's another program, this one devoted to finding one federal job for one American: Rahm Emanuel. Biden seems to have put Emanuel in charge of this, despite Rahm's initial delusional idea that he would be a great Transport Secretary:
https://www.politico.com/newsletters/transition-playbook/2020/12/17/o-rahm-where-art-thou-792379
Progressive activists within the Democratic Party killed that idea, but now it looks like Emanuel will head to Japan to serve as ambassador, a job that famously requires an even, diplomatic (!) temper. No one - *no one* - would use the word "diplomatic" to refer to Emanuel.
As Shephard points out, this kind of cronyism - where key diplomatic appointments are handed out as favors to party bosses - is not the norm among other advanced democracies.
And while cronyistic governance by asshole party bosses is a bipartisan affair, it's not bipartisan in its effect. When Republican Presidents kowtow to party bosses, they do so to advance the Republican agenda and usually it works.
But listening to Rahm Emanuel - a lavishly corrupt abettor of racist police murders - doesn't advance the Democratic Party agenda.
If anything, it *also* advances the GOP agenda, both directly (by preserving the murderous status quo) and indirectly, by helping the GOP paint the Democrats as the party of corrupt insiders.

Tumblr media
(I started writing the response to this at work and it got uhhh long, sorry. Also I came home and then had to drive back to work to activate a keycard so you know...that's why this took like nine hours to post, sorry. And thank you both for asking!)
*shows up six hours late with Starbucks and a powerpoint presentation*
Welcome! Have a seat! We might be here for a while :3c
So like I guess about six years ago or so I started a pet project that I told my friends about calling it “the novel I’ll never write” which has spiraled out of control and now lives in my mind rent free but also refuses to be written down. (I even made a blog for it @thisisnotanovel and my friends and I call it tinan) It’s changed several times in the last few years as I’ve made plot changes and character changes but the basis remains pretty much the same.
“This Is Not A Novel” is not a novel about Alecsandyr “It’s Alec, asshole” Summers (who a friend once called Alex sand hair dryer and now I can’t stop calling him that in my head) who’s a mid-twenties burn out who lives with his mom, dropped out of college, and has severe anxiety and depression issues. While on a trip with his mom to visit his grandfather up in Alaska, he steals his stepfather’s car and tries to take it for a joyride. He crashes pretty spectacularly, and it’s literal luck that he survives the crash - though, if asked he wouldn’t call it luck, he’d call it a failed suicide attempt like he’s failed everything else in his life. Anyway he gets air lifted to a hospital and is put on life support.
Now, Alec’s mom is a piece of shit and she makes no secret that she hates her son and hates that he still lives with her and doesn’t want him around. She starts asking the doctors when they would know for sure if he’s going to make it and starts making funeral arrangements even before he gets out of surgery. (Syl, you might be saying, this isn’t how hospitals work. And my answer is that it’s my not novel and I get to make up what I want. I’ll do actual research if I decide to write it.) All of this gets the attention of Alec’s nurse, Dante Lebasque.
Dante is an older, sympathetic man (who in my mind version of this not novel as a not movie is Idris Elba) and he decides that if Alec does have to fully go on life support and if Alec’s mother decides to let him go then he’s going to do something about it. Because -and this is where my emo 2007 self comes into full spotlight- Dante is the head of a small vampire coven, so in order to preserve Alec’s life he decides to turn him into a vampire.
So imagine you’ve decided that you’re going to steal a car, okay? And that you’re going to drive that car off the side of a mountain. And there’s pain and then it’s dark...and then you wake up in a coffin. Because that’s how Alec’s shit goes down. He’s laying there, fully dressed in a suit he’s never worn, and somehow he can see? And he’s not breathing? And his heart isn’t beating? And he’s starving?? And of course he’s freaking out because he’s locked in a box of some kind and he has no clue where he is or why and then suddenly there’s shifting sounds and scraping metal and he’s blinking up at a solid black sky and the greenest eyes he’s ever seen and a deep voice saying “Took a bit longer than we thought. Welcome to the legion of the undead, kid.”
And that’s how we meet Richard Davis, like 100 years old but somehow also the most “new and with it” of the group. He is the hipster meme personified. He used to like Starbucks but now he’s really into this one coffee chain you’ve never heard of. He doesn’t listen to music, actually, just Gregorian chanting. His last living breath was probably saying “well, actually.” And he’s Alec’s guardian, the one who teaches him how to like, ya know, be a vampire. Alec calls him Dick.
Also at the graveside is an angel of a woman, wearing a white dress with bright curly red hair. The first thing Alec notices about her is that she’s barefoot. Her name is Erika Chambers and where Richard is blunt and impatient she’s kind and measured. She was turned by a different vampire and left to fend for herself and she killed a lot of people before killing her sire. When Dante found her she was practically feral and just looking to be taken out by a hunter. He helped her understand what was happening to her but let her decide if she wanted to stay. She did, and she’s never left.
Alec hates all of this. It’s a special hell to want to die and not be allowed to. He refuses to believe that Dante turned him for purely selfless reasons.
When Dante has meetings with the governing council, Alec finds a way to spy on him and overhear, which is how he learns that Dante’s coven was about to be absorbed into a larger one because it was too small and he needed more coven members. Alec is furious and tries to leave but Richard stops him and explains that fledglings can’t go anywhere without a guardian. Alec tries to fight Richard and loses.
Alec confronts Dante later and Dante admits that, yes, part of the reason he turned Alec was because he was about to lose his coven, but it was also because he didn't want to see a young life ended so soon blah blah blah.
So during that fight Alec totally forgets about this other part he heard between Dante and the council where they mention some concern about missing vampires from smaller covens that they haven't heard from in a while and Dante mentions that they were loners and they'll likely show up in a few years.
But alas! They have been murdered! By my favorite villain of all time, Ariadne Rosewood, who is a witch using immortal blood to keep herself immortal.
So you have Alec struggling with himself and his feelings of self worth and depression vs his struggle to trust those around him vs the larger villain that wants to kill them all.
And then we have such wonderful characters as: Karazeda Sloan, Erika's girlfriend and a vampire hunter born into the trade that kind of maybe wants to be a vampire herself. Dominic, the leader of the wolf pack that I added as a joke because I made Alec a furry and it infuriated my friends. Carolina Davenport and her girlfriend Ava Lopez with their coven of vampires, Blaise, Ambrose, and Cole.
So yeah!! Horribly long post and now to the actual joke of it:
Tumblr media
(H)imbo - Dominic, because he's a big beefy wolfman with no braincells but much love in his heart
Mean Bisexual - Alec, because he's a bitch and I love him so much
Meaner Lesbian - Karazeda, because she's an even bigger bitch and I love her So Much
She/theys - Carolina and Ava
He/theys - Cole and Ambrose
Token Straight - Dante, but he's also ace so he gets a pass
Astrology Bitch - Erika, I bet she keeps everyones birth charts on the wall
Short King - Richard, 5'5" tiny motherfucker and the more he acts like a brat the shorter I make him. He used to be 6'2".

20 Most Important Female Characters in DC
Tumblr media
14- White Canary 😎
Unlike her television counterpart, the White Canary of the cartoons is very different from Sara Lance (and very different). To begin with, she is not a hero, but rather a villain whose only relationship with Black Canary is antagonistic, as she is (to date) her fiercest enemy.
Silk Sister (name by which she was known) was a "ghost member" since she received the same training as her 12 half-siblings, but they were unaware of her existence, since the presence of a female assassin was considered dishonorable to her traditionalist father. .
When this group of assassins fails in their mission to kill the members of the Birds of Prey team, Silk Sister must cleanse the dishonor on her family, so she murders her 12 half-siblings *Yes, you read that right... 12* and adopts the identity of White Canary, to show the contempt he feels towards Black Canary.
Tumblr media
Her combative level is something worth highlighting, since Black Canary herself, an expert combatant with a lot of experience facing members of the League of Assassins and multiple villains, has shown to feel quite intimidated to face White Canary, comparing her skill to Lady Shiva, the most skilled and deadly (human) warrior in the DC Universe. She has also shown to be extremely cruel and Machiavellian, even kidnapping Sin (the adopted daughter of Dinah Lance / Black Canary) to use her as a hostage.
CW Version
Tumblr media
okay. It is the best known and most popular version.
Sara Lance is a former vigilante who was part of the League of Assassins. She is the daughter of Quentin and Dinah Lance, younger sister of Laurel Lance, ex-girlfriend and friend of Oliver Queen, and current girlfriend of Ava Sharpe. She is also the Paladin of Destiny.
At some point during her five years with the League, she and Nyssa became lovers. During her time with the League, she was told to "pick a new name". She chose "Ta-er al-Asfer" (Arabic: الطائر الأصفر), which is Arabic for Canary ("yellow bird"), a reminder of the canary Quentin gave her when she was ten years old. She was also trained by Ra's al Ghul himself.
Upon being contacted by Rip Hunter to save the timeline from Vandal Savage and join the Legends, she is convinced by her sister Laurel Lance to take on a new, unmasked identity: White Canary.
Tumblr media
This is the most important character in the Legends of Tomorrow. and it has been a watershed in her sexual liberation... * Cw if he dared with her *
Sara can be irritating, charming... How could forget that she was flirting with Alex Danvers? or how he defended sexual freedom in an emotional speech before the Nazi version of Supergirl and Green Arrow? 🙇🙌 *100 points for gryffindor*
Tumblr media
she is quick-witted, with a sharp tongue and a superhuman tolerance for alcohol *We all want that ability* 😉
and now she is she is going to be a mom... 💣💥
