Winter 1914

I think it's always a bittersweet day when a mother realizes her little girl is well on her way to becoming a young woman. We recently celebrated Elsie's twelfth birthday and I hate to admit it, I found myself getting quite misty eyed when letting down her skirts for what feels like the fourth time this year. She's closing in on me heightwise and I swear just last year she was only at my elbow. She's looking so grown up even if she's still in short skirts and pigtails. Her hair has recently darkened to more of an auburn than the fiery red of her father. It's almost a combination of his and my coloring now.

I made a special birthday supper for her; she loves fish and Will was able to purchase a beautiful carp in town so we had that fried up with some tomato preserve. The real showstopper was dessert though, I made a coconut cake - a flavor none of us had had before. I had seen the recipe in my Ladies Home Journal and when I came across the coconut at Greenfield's it just felt serendipitous. They're ugly things and quite hard to get open, but the aroma was very pleasant. The cake turned out lovely, I even caught Charlie licking his plate, a behavior I strictly admonished. As a birthday treat, I wouldn't let her help a whit with the cooking or clean up, even if she has become quite a hand in the kitchen.

She's grown into such a responsible young lady, I am quite proud of her really. She's always quick to help and is quite accomplished with her embroidery and knitting. She can be a bit fanciful at times, no doubt encouraged by all the fantastical stories my father tells her and Charlie; I haven't the heart to tell them they're all embellished to high heaven or just pure fiction. The faith of youth is such a special thing and all too soon the world will feel more real. Time certainly sneaks up on you, I recently came to the sobering realization that I was only six years older when I married Hamish. It seems of late more and more of the young ladies of Brindleton have been finding beau's from further afield, Britechester or even San Myshuno. I can only hope Elsie won't stray so far when she marries.

SO! The funny chain saw man,

Edit: I didn’t like the way tumblr kinda.. spoils things?? It felt like the wrong tag to me so!

I wanted to edit the way I posted this SO, the gore shown here is very light and not detailed. There will be a second post of Chip with out the mouth bandages that is more detailed.

Chip is another abnormality, F-01-429.

With abnormalities those numbers have meanings! F meaning fairy tale(will be explained in a moment) the second number being a sort of second classification, 01 meaning humanoid but there’s ALOT of wiggle room for what counts. And the last number being…..tbh I’m not sure they don’t really mean anything. It’s more of just an Id, so chips is based on his employee ID from cogs.

Now chip is my only fairy tale based abnormality in this Au so far as I’m, slowly building it. He was based on both the Hunter from Snow White who was supposed to take snow whites heart and put it in a box as well as the hunter from little red riding hood. Comedically enough his more human design was also based off chip from my sims 4 game.

His abnormality name being “Huntsman with No Axe”

He is classified as an Aleph which is basically the most dangerous classification for abnormalities and breaches very very VERY easy much to his hate. He dislikes when agents come to work with him just wanting to be left alone. Despite breaching easily he hates when he breaches… His breaching in this AU is his form of override and you can probably already see where this is going.

Abnormalities often also change looks when breaching, Chip changes in the way of he gains the blank eyes and his mouth gains to be uncovered showing a lack of lower portion of the head and a chainsaw for a mouth. Saw blades also come from his arms and chest from crudely stitched together gashes. Sitting next to chip in his containment you can hear the saw revving though muffled.

He doesn’t exactly want to escape the facility either due to not admitting the craving of wanting social interaction and feeling like a bit of a hazard.

The context with the one Picture I drew with him and Dave is mostly me going “heheheh chiptune” as well as one of Dave’s abnormality functions going to be calming down other abnormalities via the music he produces in order for him to not be attacked since abnormalities often fight each other on breach…. Plus Chip just thinks the musics soothing enough to keep him calm. Plus drawing abnormalities interactions is fun. :P

Canon to lobotomy Corp is a little red riding hood abnormality Chip has history with, along with a big bad wolf abnormality who the two despise and will often breach if they happen to hear the wolf and stop at nothing to see it dead…..though abnormalities can’t really die either.

I Leave The TDI Cast Unpaused In Sims 4 For A Full Sims Year

The title is self explanatory.

I decided to leave the TDI characters unpaused in the Sims for a full year. In game.

I modded all 22 campers into the household.

Plus a toddler, Beatrix, to make things more interesting.

Plus Mr Coconut in dog form, to include them, and to make things more interesting.

I have built a mansion for them to live in (it’s bad work, I know)

There’s plenty of things and activities for them to do. There’s even a pool area. Which you know, they can potentially drown in there.

There’s multiple grills in case the fridge breaks. They can cause fires.

There’s a fireplace. Fire hazard.

There’s plenty of electronics. I have a mod where they can autonomously repair stuff. So if those things break it could kill them.

AND I have some mods where they can do some autonomous woohoo and romance. So we can see who hooks up with who. And see if any kids come out of it.

There’s also the extreme violence mod in here. That might influence some of their choices for the worst.

I want to make this as chaotic as possible. And I’m hoping that at least SOMETHING happens, and I don’t come back to just garbage everywhere.

They have a full year

When this ends, it’ll be Sunday of Spring again. I’ll check in every season as a save checkpoint.

I put the walls up and muted my computer. And I’ll update this post when results come in.

Result 1:

So… TWO DAYS into the game. In game.

We got a game over.

Literally EVERYONE died of starvation.

I’m not joking!

What happened was, from my understanding, someone started a fire. No one did anything about it.

So… yeah.

It’s ENDLESS.

And the Sims do NOTHING when a fire is going on. So… they all starved to death cause they were all stuck there.

Lame outcome, I know.

I will NOT let that be my outcome. So I quit without saving back to the starting point. Im gonna give them a chance and put one fire alarm in the house. Maybe THEN, we don’t get the genocide ending.

I want some of them to die, I don’t want them ALL to die, you know?

So take 2.

Result 2:

4 Days in.

I have to remove the grills. They are causing WAY too many problems

The fire department doesn’t come.

And everyone freezes to death outside.

That’s a disturbing image right there.

So I have to restart AGAIN.

NO MORE GRILLS.

Thess vs The Pale Reach

So I decided to kill some time before the bath / meds / dinner thing poking around the Pale Reach DLC over on Dredge. Now, I know what it said it was, but ... I mean ... it actually delivered.

Here's what we got:

Whole new area with new fish type, line, and trawl net (finally something to spend money on)

Corresponding new fish and crabs, plus aberrations

Corresponding new hazards

New boat upgrade to deal with one of those hazards

Whole new game mechanic to deal with the rest

New main quest (which actually seems to tie into one of the side quests in the main game in a satisfactory way)

Bunch of new side quests

New lore to go along with the new quests

New consumable that gives people what they've been asking for since this game launched - a means of keeping fish fresh longer

And this is their "Sorry we're running behind on the DLC we promised; here's some DLC to tide you over in the meantime!" DLC. And it only cost £6.

I think of what EA does (I mean, come on; how much DA2 and DAI DLC was just cosmetic stuff, and how much did that shit cost? And that's not even getting into the non-Bioware bits of EA and the fuckery with Sims 4 content), and WB talking about turning the planned Wonder Woman single-player game into a "live service", and that shit they tried with Middle Earth: Shadow of War, and just... Is it sad that I've just got so used to video games nickle-and-diming people to death and producing questionable value for way too much money that this is just blowing my mind? I mean, Black Salt Games made a thing and it is more than worth the money? When it's a struggle getting your money's worth of fun out of a £50 AAA game? Wow.

So ... yeah, if you don't already own Dredge, I highly recommend it, and the DLC. If nothing else, developers like this need the support. Word of mouth is kind of what they have, so I'm spreading said word of mouth. GO FORTH AND FISH FOR ELDRITCH HORRORS.
