#the stunti-con job
Text
One last round of trivia:
"The Stunti-Con Job" exists as both a comic and a BotCon script reading; the plots are the same, but the script reading added a subplot featuring Minerva, a medibot determined to meet Ratchet at all costs, who's somehow dragged Warpath along on her quest. (She does also appear in the comic version - see below.)
The script reading also featured a musical interlude - a duet sung by G1 and Animated Grimlocks. I don't think it went according to plan.
Like the story's title, the comic's original cover pays homage to the classic British comedy film "The Italian Job". (As do the picture captions on the relevant TFWiki page.)
Sideswipe and Breakdown share a body-type (first seen on Rodimus Prime) - possibly a callback to the G1 episode "Masquerade", in which that iteration of Sideswipe was disguised as Breakdown. (The same applies to Jazz and Dead End, and, more or less, to Optimus and the Motor Master.) In-universe, all the Stunticons underwent spark transplants into Autobot frames - except Toxitron, who's a clone of Optimus. Not a very successful one.
Cheetor, meanwhile, is a retool of Blurr - a fact Sideswipe remarks on four BotCons later, in "The Return of Blurr". which takes place at about the same time as "The Stunti-Con Job". Hence Blurr's appearance in the latter, in the High Council box alongside Cliffjumper - still cubified, and no doubt still talking twenty-four to the dozen.
Strika's Team Chaar, seen at the very end of this story, has undergone a reshuffle since "Transwarped" - Oil Slick is still there, unfortunately, but Cyclonus, Blackout and Spittor have been replaced by Mindwipe, Sky-Byte, Scalpel and Blot.
As for Autobot cameos, there are too many to list, but most of them are here:
Tumblr media
(Botanica is also in this frame, but further up in the High Council box. TFWiki claims that Tap-Out is somewhere in the crowd; I can't see him, though.)

this is my first time sending a request but could you do inspection prompt from the non verbal list? maybe something to do with a stunt driver!reader and colt? like the reader gets hurt doing some kind of driving stunt?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
prompt: [ inspection ] sender holds receiver's face while inspecting an injury they got -prompt list
summary: because of reasons like a tight schedule and an asshole director, when your stunt goes slightly askew, colt's the only one who comes to your rescue.
pairing: colt seavers x fem!stuntdriver!reader
warnings/content: fluff, angst, blood mentions, hurt/comfort, kissing, barely any swearing but some is there
word count: 1.73k
notes: thank you to kira for requesting, and thank you to her and shannon @bisexualcoltseavers for beta-reading this!! had a lot of fun writing it, hope you guys enjoy <3

Being a stunt driver had its pros and cons.
Pros being you got to ride cool-ass cars, trucks, motorcycles, and motorized couches, you had an overall aura of daring and bravery, and you got to make friends with a lot of really nice people.
Cons being you could lose a limb or your life while doing the stunts, and could be pressured into doing things you didn’t want to do, but that was part of the job, and besides, it rarely ever happened.
Today’s schedule for had you involved with the filmBright Days dir. by Charles Levine.
He sounded like quite the gentleman, but dear god, his sexist ideals and extra tight schedules were hard to work with.
You were supposed to do a scene where the lead crashed into the goon’s car because of a slippery road in the middle of the night during her escape mission.
The goon was Colt Seavers, a skilled co-stuntie, and someone you’d had a crush on for over 2 years.
It was super confusing, and so was he, because you could never tell if he was just being friendly or aiming a bit higher.
“We really need to go now,” Colt said to you, taking your half-eaten spinach corn sandwich from your hand and keeping it on its paper plate, before nudging you. “Levine’s heading for us.”
You made a sound like a deflating balloon, with Colt appropriately responding by encouragingly rubbing your back. You couldn’t help but ease into his touch, something you were certainly embarrassed by, cheeks heating up.
“You’re gonna be great, alright?” he said, and his tone made you blush and smile, which was not an appropriate reaction at all.
“And I promise not to crush you.”
“Shut up,” you quipped at the grinning man, slapping his shoulder.
When Levine came and stood by the break table, he looked quite unhappy.
“We’re on a schedule, stunties. Get moving.”
You glanced at Colt, giving him a ‘who gave him permission to say stuntie?’ look to which Colt just responded with an exasperated nod, making you sigh.
“Coming,” you muttered, before heading to the set with Colt. He had an arm around your shoulder, a fact you actively tried to ignore.
Five minutes later, you were in the stunt car, strapped down, helmet clipped on, mouthguard on, neck restraints snug, gloved hands tight on the steering wheel.
The helmet was unusually loose, but with the way Levine was rushing the shot, you knew nothing would be done about it. Colt was on the other end of the road, speaking to you through the walkie talkie.
“Good luck,” his voice said, and you smiled to yourself.
“You too.”
“Alright, no wasting time, c’mon, I want to see action!” Levine yelled into the talkie and to everyone else.
The cameramen and crew moved away, the stunt coordinator got in his buggy, and you double checked everything before taking a deep breath.
This was going to be great. You were going to be great. You were a stunt driver! You’d done this millions of times.
No, the helmet wasn’t an issue. It was probably fine.
“…And action, action!”
You slammed the accelerator and the car zoomed forward, racing through the road.
Colt’s car was heading towards you, on the other lane — In another 5 seconds, you were supposed to skid and crash into him, successfully taking the brunt.
Alright.
You swerved the car, hard, and it turned 180 degrees, when your helmet fell off your head.
What the f-
“NOW!”
Instinct took over and you sped backwards, crashing into the other car with a boom, the bonnet almost floating for a split second. The vehicle shook thunderously. Your ears began to ring.
Glass shattered and all you could do was brace your head with your arms, helplessly watching the helmet roll around the groaning car, eyes tightly shut to protect them from the splintering metal and nails and screws and shards.
You sat there in the same position for what felt like ages, until the walkie talkie came to life with the coordinator's voice.
“Are you both alright?”
You heaved deep breaths, a tad shocked to realize that your face was bleeding into your sleeves. You shakily pulled your sleeves away and were a bit taken aback at all the blood staining it.
Your shaky hand grabbed the walkie talkie and you gasped an” alright” into it.
After a few moments, you put the helmet on and stepped out of the car— two stuntmen helped you to your unsteady feet, and behind them was…
“Colt.”
He rushed past them, tripping on the pebbles, before scooping you up in his arms, almost lifting you off the ground.
“You okay?” he asked. You could only nod, which was already hard with the flimsy helmet, never mind with the cuts on your face.
“You?” you returned the question.
“I’m good,” he said, grinning through his visor.
The right thing to do now was to tell someone about the accident and see the set’s medic, but last time a stuntie got hurt, Levine got extremely upset about the wasted time and resources and lectured the crew for a solid twenty minutes. Ironic.
So you decided to stay silent instead.
Colt seemed to notice your silence and stumbling steps.
“Are you alright?” he asked again, tone laced with concern this time, his hands coming to rest on your shoulders. He tried to take the helmet off your head but you pushed his hand away, shaking your head.
“I’m fine, I’m just-“
Colt took off your helmet before you could react, but you smacked his head, taking advantage of his shock and quickly sliding it back on.
Colt had a ghastly expression on his face at the momentary sight of your cuts, some deep, some faint, and it made you feel warm that he cared, yet upset, that you had upset him.
“You need to get that taken care of,” he whispered. “Now.”
“Levine wouldn’t like that,” you said, but he ignored you and grabbed you by the arm, taking you to one of the tents, hurriedly sitting you down and taking a first aid kit under the table.
“Take it off,” he instructed seriously, and you almost giggled. Colt caught on and gave you a serious glare that made you shut up, stifling your laughs.
You did as he said, and when his eyes landed on you once more, he seemed to be genuinely shaken.
“I’m fine,” you said, trying to make him relax, but his expression didn’t falter.
“What happened?”
“The helmet clasp was loose - came off when I did the 180 swerve.”
“Motherfucker,” he grumbled to himself, and you knew he was talking about Levine. You nodded in agreement.
“Indeed.”
Colt knelt on the sandy floor and took your face in his hands, his hold gentle and cautious. He turned your head to see how bad the injuries were, eyebrows arched and eyes perturbed.
“This might sting a little,” he said softly.
“I’ll manage,” giving him a smile.
Colt let his gaze linger on you for a second, before reaching for the first aid and taking out bandages, tincture— everything he needed to tend to you.
There was a cut on your forehead, under your eye (Colt looked visibly distressed by this), a deeper one on your left cheekbone, a slit on your lower lip, and a few shallow scratches everywhere else.
He soaked a cotton pad in tincture and brought it to your face, first gently dabbing at the cut on your forehead. The stench of alcohol was strong, but to you, it was mellow in comparison to Colt’s cologne.
His deep concern gave you time to observe every bit of his beautiful face in much detail, and it brought you great joy.
He had a pretty nose, you observed, and pretty, pretty, deep, warm blue eyes that looked even prettier when he was worried. That word seemed to be the only one capable of perfectly describing him.
“Does it hurt?” he asked.
“No. Not at all.”
You didn’t even feel the stinging of the disinfectant, too busy appreciating him, too giddy with the feeling of his calloused fingers on your skin. You couldn’t tell if he knew.
Your attention drifted lower to his mouth, his lips barely parted in focus, not too far from your own.
So pretty.
The cotton pad came down, and Colt started to clean your split lip. His fingertips brushed over it as he did, causing goosebumps to rise on your arm.
Whether it was on purpose, you weren’t sure. There were so many things you could never clearly interpret when it came to this man.
“My eyes are up here, hey.”
Your heart skipped a beat as you looked up, gaze connecting to Colt’s. He had the smallest, teasing smile.
“I’m aware of that,” you replied, blushing a little.
“Hey?”
“Yeah?”
“If I kissed you right now, would you taste like disinfectant?”
At that precise moment, it dawned on you that this man knew what he was doing after all, and you only flushed harder, blinking rapidly, heart speeding up.
“Probably,” you managed to say. You could barely speak.
Colt picked up very quickly on how flustered you were, and it seemed to give him so much joy, much to your annoyance.
He was definitely much less worried, now that you’d been tended to. That was good, but at the cost of your dignity? Not at all.
But then, he whispered, “I wanna find out,” with so many emotions packed in those four words, and you gave in entirely.
“Please do.”
He looked like a deer caught in the headlights for a second, as if he didn’t expect you to agree, but you pleaded again, and that was all he needed to bring your face close and press his lips to yours.
He kissed you like he hadn’t consumed anything for weeks. He kissed desperately, lovingly, his fingers stroking your skin and scalp, pulling you in closer so he could taste you better.
You were lost in the feeling, and you were willing to get lost in it for the rest of your life. You let your hands rest on his neck, thumbs grazing over his skin. He seemed to love it with the way he sharply inhaled.
You had to pull away to catch your breath, and when you saw Colt’s dreamy, amused gaze, you questioned, “What?”
“You do taste like disinfectant.”
You laughed, sincerely, and he did too.
“Idiot,” you mumbled, giggling. “Of course I do.”
“But it, like— it tastes pretty alright, you know?”
And you started laughing even harder.

@da-ray Character ask game (I'm assuming this was for me since you replied to my reblog, but just so you know these are intended to be sent as asks)
How I feel about this character
He became my favorite TFA character I think. Realistically flawed, strong backstory, fun to watch the antics of... unique and fitting alt-mode too. Snow plows are cool. Beleaguered middle management characters are often fun as well!
All the people I ship romantically with this character
I ship him with Optimus. I know some fans have strong opinions about this, but I feel like that makes sense. It kind of felt like TFA did the same story with Sentinel and Optimus over and over again and I did get sick of it, but they also did kinda seem to canonically go on a date in The Stunti-Con Job so lol
My non-romantic OTP for this character
There actually seemed to be mutual respect between him and Jetstorm and Jetfire!
My unpopular opinion about this character
The sheer amount of hatred toward this guy I saw when I first entered the fandom was strange. I saw posts unironically saying things like, "TFP Megatron is actually less bad than TFA Sentinel" getting hundreds of positive notes which is so weird lol The worst thing Sentinel ever did IMO was be cruel to Blackarachnia when he was really triggered, but that doesn't compare to lots of genuinely horrible shit fan-favorites have done that people will ignore just because they were traumatized.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Sentinel perceiving Sari Sumdac to be a young bot who needs training like Jetfire and Jetstorm, only for her to reject this idea of "bootcamp" and point out all the things wrong with the Autobots' creepy system. Meanwhile, Sentinel struggles to work through how gross he finds a techno-organic being, motivated by the fact that he doesn't think those lame washouts on Earth should be training a super-powerful being like Sari.

"Dead End, hold him still."
The robo-goth sighed. "This does nothing to help us, Drag Strip," he began, his hold on the hostage still loose. They were half-dead anyway, if they managed to get away he could just shoot them, but Drag Strip didn't seem to care about that. She just insisted that Dead End hold him still. "What's even the purpose of this?"
"I'm trying to do a trick shot," she hissed, pointing her gun... not at the hostage. Far away from him, in fact. "Watch this."
Right before she fires the shot, the door burst open- thank you, Breakdown- and he opened it with such strength that it managed to knock over at least half of Drag Strip's elaborate set-up. If Dead End cared enough, he'd thank Breakdown.
The gold 'Con let out a yell of anger, stomping. "That was gonna be so cool, dammit!"
"Oh," Breakdown let out, glancing at the almost-demolished set-up. "I, uh, didn't realize this room was being used. Sorry. I can pick it up later?"
Drag Strip stomped over to her fellow Stunticon, shoving a servo in his face. "You better! And then-" she gestured to the Autobot Dead End was holding, rapidly bleeding out. Dead End could probably let go now, they wouldn't be able to get away. "-You can find us a second Autobot that we can use for target practice!" She let out a groan. "Why do you even NEED this roo-oh. Hello."
Hello. She had already seen Breakdown, and she definitely didn't greet Motormaster or Wildrider like that. After shooting the hostage in the leg- just in case, he supposed- Dead End returned to Drag Strip's side, glancing past Breakdown to see- "Who is that?"
A car. Not an Autobot, though, he wore the Decepticon badge. He was a bright cherry red, with a white face that looked almost pink. His silver accents made him look sleek, and almost futuristic. Certainly fast. While Breakdown jumped at the bot- con, he's a con- being addressed, said red mech simply extended a hand, as though he expected Dead End to kiss it. "Knockout," he introduced himself, "are you Breakdown's partners?"
"We're his gestalt," Drag Strip hissed, smacking Knockout's hand away. "What are you, his floozy?"
"Drag Strip!"
"Spicy," Knockout simply laughed, seemingly unbothered. Breakdown looked horrified. "Nothing I haven't heard before. I'm Breakdown's conjunx-to-be."
Drag Strip's jaw dropped. Dead End couldn't help himself. "You're kidding, right?" Knockout tilted his head in confusion as Breakdown's gaze fell to the floor. "You're joking. Why Breakdown? Can you honestly say anything good about him? Are you with him for money? 'Cause he doesn't have any money."
Knockout, in that moment, grabbed Breakdown's hand, and the orange-faced mech seemed to actually blush. Primus. "Breakdown is very charming in his own right, thank you." And then he simply walked away, taking Breakdown with him.
Dead End glanced at Drag Strip, who was stomping again. "What just happened?!" She shouted, "He owes us an Autobot!"

Ramble abt combiner dynamics, but I personally think they're so much more interesting when they're drastically different between teams.
Disclaimer that this is all MY PERSONAL opinion.
Like Protectobots (whom many don't know I love), they're for me, good coworkers. Being gestalt is their job, and they're professional about it - sure they share a room together (the ark ain't that big) and maybe get drinks after a work day, but Hot Spot isn't venting to Blades about how his wife took his kids after the divorce. I find it even more interesting if the Autobots are very G1 cartoon, where they are a big family - because then the contrast is noticeable.
The Constructicons are even cooler to explore because they actually care for each other in canon??? Isn't that so cool? G1 cartoon, where every Decepticon is at each other's throats, and they're just chilling A.K.A. Also hating the other 'Cons, but hating together. Well except when the episode is "The Secret of Omega Supreme", which uh... I think kinda flattens them a bit, so let's pretend this episode is a fever dream and never mention it again on this account, for my sake. At the end of the day, there's more CANON material for the Constructicons being untrustworthy in regards to the Decepticon faction than the contrary.
(I have so MANY thoughts on the Constructicons, but I'll refrain for now.)
As for the Combat-icons? BRUH, I think they're barely associates; they tolerate each other, sure, but at any opportunity to get an advantage of some kind they're taking it, fuck all. (Blast-off and Ons is another can of worms). They still don't get that as a Gestalt they're basically extensions of each other and blah blah blah teamwork, but I don't think they don't want to get it... Just... The purest form of willful ignorance.
Stunties? Siblings, obviously, they're the only ones that I personally view as family - with the caveat that they're all mentally ill teenagers who don't know how to deal with each other nor the fact that they're gestalt... so... Get these boys a therapist ASAP!!!
The Technobots are a fraternity, duh!
No ideas for the plane guys and my idea for the Terrorcons... I can't even pretend to be canon-compliant, so I'll keep quiet.

wada sez: The oil-loving Scrapper and Mixmaster were introduced in “Rise of the Constructicons”; this strip takes place between that and the later two-parter “A Bridge Too Close”, in which they obtain G1-inspired green-and-purple Decepticon color schemes. Naturally, the inclusion of Breakdown and Wildrider here predates their official incarnations created for BotCon 2011 and its exclusive comic “The Stunti-Con Job”. Clean art is included below, along with some later character models of Bashar’s for Breakdown and Menasor, which actually lean into the Animated aesthetic.

I can respect that you’re a Sentinel Fan, and you want to make him a better person, in your stories... But I think that Canon Sentinel is a lost cause... He lets Optimus take all the blame for what happened to Elita... He also doesn’t seem to miss or care for Elita all that much (considering that he’s a smug jerk with Optimus, instead of bitter)... Then there’s all that stuff with Wasp, Blackarachnia and Lockdown... And all he could’ve done, if TFA was not cancelled... 💔
Actually he does still missed her..like I can literally feel the pain in his voice during these entries:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why would Sentinel even consider that Elita would trying to protect him if he suddenly doesn't care for her anymore. The fact he still thinking about Elita after his confrontation with her and say that terrible thing about her she should of died as Elita one is so painful. The fact that he wanted to go back and collect her shell yet Ultra Magnus didn't let him is so tragic. I don't think that Sentinel is a lost cause since he was the frist one to rush to the Jettwins aid when they were stuck in that simulation thing and they were being attacked by Starscream in the Rise of safe gaurd comic and him saying sorry to Optimus that they ever went to that stupid planet is so..wow.
Too bad decepticon air have to ruin everything. I seriously think Sentinel and Optimus should of end their frenemy relationship in Predacons Rising and for the rest of the show to have positive development between these two or have Sentinel get any proper development.
Like The show have small moment of Sentinel showing decently like him saying thank you to Optimus and even shaking his hand ( Return of head master my beloved). like why would writers do that if Sentinel and Optimus just going stay as the rivals that argue a lot...if they just going to keep the status quo. At least throw in some moments of them actually bonding once in a while
Look I don't usually make theories but I feel like Sentinel wasn't originally always going to be apart of Optimus or Elita's story and he was just going to be a a standard smug rival character yet the writers wanted things to be more complex so they dediced to make him Optimus's former friend. This could explain why Sentinel isn't bitter when he see Optimus in the frist episode of season one because Sentinel wasn't originally going to be apart of Optimus or Elita's story. This could also explain why us as the audience only get to see Sentinel's feelings on Acha Seven throughout the all spark almanac instead of the actual show
But that's just a theory and I don't really consider season four as canon since it was never officially made in the first place. The last TFA content that I do see a a canon is that The Stunti-Con Job comic since Sentinel get to wear that amazing cape without becoming a crazy dictator.
In conclusion I think Sentinel prime is a emotional mess and yes he is smug jerk but I don't think he out of reach or unredeemable. I mean compare to other versions of Sentinel prime where he is a antagonist ... Tfa Sentinel is probably the most redeemable and less crazy version of the character. ( Not including season four)

Does Magnificus Have a Spark?
Alternate title: There Are a Lot of Clones in TFA
Here’s a link to the original version of this post just in case I update anything later.
Older post on CNA and clones in TFA (I might have gotten better facts or changed my mind on a few things there since then, but most of the info’s still good)
Magnificus‘s tfwiki bio and an older post about him
This has been bugging me for the past week.
Now I have to make a list of all the known clones and bots given life by the AllSpark fragments in TFA and make notes on how they were formed. Enjoy, folks:
(Canon info is in regular text, speculation and headcanon is in italics.)
Clones
Magnificus: Result of Operation: Doppelgänger. The first known successful attempt at cloning in TFA canon. The actual first successful attempt at cloning.
CNA Donor: Perceptor
Cloner: Scalpel
CNA Collector: Shockwave
Cloned by order of: Megatron
Protoform/body origin: Stolen protoforms in possession of Decepticons
Spark/AllSpark fragment origin: unknown; Not AllSpark fragments (did not yet exist). The AllSpark was missing and Vector Sigma was on Cybertron, so it is unclear how the Decepticons brought Magnificus to life. It is possible that when Lockdown stole the blank protoforms, he also took a spark (or sparks) from Vector Sigma. Whether taking and transporting bodiless sparks is possible in TFA is unknown.
Time of cloning: after Blackarachnia joined the Decepticons and after Shockwave infiltrated the Autobots (~a thousand stellar cycles ago), but before Megatron crashed to Earth
Starscream’s Clones: “Starscream created the clones in a multi-step process. First mechanical shells based on Starscream's design were infused with protoforms stolen from Master Yoketron's dojo. Since those protoforms were sparkless, a fragment Starscream's AllSpark fragment was inserted into their chassis to give them life.” This seems to imply that Starscream’s AllSpark fragments were used as substitutes for sparks for each clone. As Starscream’s fragment was substituting for his own spark, it must have had his CNA encoded into it. The CNA can be taken/copied from the fragment, as the Autobots do in First (and Second) in Flight (Arrival comic). However Starscream can also simply take shards from his own fragment already encoded with his CNA and use them directly in the clones, which he does.
Clone #2716057 and Clone #3370318: Possession of sparks unconfirmed, and unlikely (Starscream did not have a spark when he made them, and their sparkchambers were seen to have bombs in them).
CNA Donor: Starscream
Cloner: Starscream
CNA Collector: N/A (CNA already in fragments used)
Cloned by order of: Starscream
Protoform/body origin: Stolen protoforms in possession of Decepticons, prepared Starscream body shells
Spark/AllSpark fragment origin: fragments in possession of Starscream (presumably broken from the one in his head that was keeping him alive despite the loss of his spark)
Time of cloning: After ep19 Mission Accomplished and First (and Second) in Flight (Arrival comic), before ep23 A Fistful of Energon
Sunstorm, Skywarp, Slipstream, Thundercracker, and Ramjet:
CNA Donor: Starscream
Cloner: Starscream
CNA Collector: N/A (CNA already in fragments used)
Cloned by order of: Starscream
Protoform/body origin: Stolen protoforms in possession of Decepticons,  prepared Starscream body shells
Spark/AllSpark fragment origin: fragments in possession of Starscream (presumably broken from the one in his head that was keeping him alive despite the loss of his spark)
Time of cloning: ep28 A Bridge Too Close, Part I
Dirge and Thrust: It is unclear whether the fragments they received were directly from Starscream’s or if they were blank fragments later encoded with separately acquired Starscream CNA, but the end result is the same.
CNA Donor: Starscream
Cloner: Swindle, using Starscream’s cloning equipment, which he stole
CNA Collector: Swindle (acquired CNA from a Starscream clone)
Cloned by order of: Swindle
Protoform/body origin: Starscream shells found with Starscream’s equipment. Stolen protoforms in possession of Decepticons (”A while back I picked up a brace of protoforms from an old business associate.”--Swindle, The Complete AllSpark Amanac)
Spark/AllSpark fragment origin: fragments in possession of Swindle, possibly previously in possession of Starscream
Time of cloning: After ep39 Decepticon Air, possibly after Season Three.
Lugnut Supremes (3):
CNA Donor: Omega Supreme (Lugnut gave them their activation codes, influencing their design and personality)
Cloner: Starscream & Shockwave
CNA Collector: N/A. The protoforms seem to simply scan Omega Supreme. How they did this instinctively/automatically is unclear. The AllSpark fragments given them were found in Omega Supreme’s spark chamber, so it is possible that the spark fragments acquired his CNA by a sort of osmosis. They scanned him before they were given the fragments, however, so it is still unclear how or why they did that.
Cloned by order of: Megatron
Protoform/body origin: Stolen protoforms in possession of Decepticons, body shells formed from Nemesis remains
Spark/AllSpark fragment origin: fragments in possession of Omega Supreme in his spark chamber, collected by Autobots on Earth. Presence of sparks unclear and unconfirmed, possibly implied by Starscream (the most knowledgeable about cloning and also a known liar, so take his word with a grain of salt). Sparkchambers shown to have bombs in them.
Time of cloning: Season Three
Skipjack: Joined Constructicons.
CNA Donor: Erector
Cloner: Lockdown and/or Dirt Boss
CNA Collector: Lockdown
Cloned by order of: Dirt Boss
Protoform/body origin: Unknown; No formal protoform; formed from existing Earth vehicle as other Construticons were.
Spark/AllSpark fragment origin: fragment in possession of Dirt Boss
Time of cloning: After Season Three
Toxitron: Failed clone of Optimus Prime. Works with Team Stunticon.
CNA Donor: Optimus Prime
Cloner: Scalpel & Oil Slick
CNA Collector: unknown; Lockdown, while he had Optimus Prime captured, likely suspecting he would be able to make a profit on it later; he’s a known opportunist.
Cloned by order of: unknown; Megatron
Protoform/body origin: Stolen protoforms in possession of Decepticons
Spark/AllSpark fragment origin: fragment in possession of Decepticons
Time of cloning: around the same time the Team Stunticons’ Autobot shells were cloned, after The Thrill of the Hunt, after Season Three, before The Stunti-Con Job
Nemesis Prime: Successful clone of Optimus Prime. Taken by Straxus soon after creation.
Time of cloning: After Toxitron and the Stunticons’ shells were cloned, after The Thrill of the Hunt, after Season Three
Dark Rodimus: CNA donor chosen on Cyclonus’ suggestion.
CNA Donor: Rodimus Prime
Cloner: possibly Megatron using Starscream’s cloning lab, but the wording of Dark Rodimus’ bio implies that Megatron ordered his creation remotely, so Dark Rodimus was more likely actually made by Scalpel.
CNA Collector: unknown; Lockdown or Pharma while Rodimus was being treated for Cosmic Rust (speculation based purely on actions of Pharma in other continuities.)
Cloned by order of: Megatron
Protoform/body origin: Stolen protoforms in possession of Decepticons
Spark/AllSpark fragment origin: fragment in possession of Decepticons
Time of cloning: After Season Three
Bots Brought to Life by AllSpark(Key)(fragments)
--AllSpark Key
Optimus Prime:
After his death, was intentionally revived by Sari Sumdac’s AllSpark Key in Season One. Proves AllSpark Key can and does grant/restore sparks.
Dinobots: Grimlock, Swoop, Snarl: Given sparks unintentionally. Details and time of creation noted on TFWiki pages. No formal protoforms.
“Animatronic theme park exhibits, until an AllSpark Key upgrade granted them sparks.” Presence of sparks confirmed.
Soundwave: Created intentionally by Megatron. Details and time of creation noted on his TFWiki page. No formal protoform.
Upgraded gradually into fully-functional Cybertronian by AllSpark Key used by Sari Sumdac and himself. Presence of spark unconfirmed, but likely (see Optimus’s revival by key and Dinobots’ possession of sparks above). Soundwave himself knows what a spark is and seems to count it as proof of independent mechanical life (source: bios of his Prototype Minions in The Complete AllSpark Almamac), so it is very likely that he has one himself.
--AllSpark Fragments
Constructicons: First three (not including clone Skipjack) created unintentionally. Times of creation noted on their individual pages. No formal protoforms.
Scrapper:  Created when an AllSpark fragment came into contact with a construction vehicle. Presence of spark unconfirmed, but likely. AllSpark intended to grant life.
Mixmaster: Created when an AllSpark fragment came into contact with a construction vehicle.  Presence of spark unconfirmed, but likely. AllSpark intended to grant life.
Dirt Boss: “Created accidentally by the fusion of a forklift, a Headmaster unit and an AllSpark fragment.”  Presence of spark unconfirmed, but likely. AllSpark intended to grant life.
Starscream: Revived by Allspark fragment after death (twice, if you count the deleted Endgame Part II scene in which Slipsteam puts a fragment she found in him and he comes back online), confirmed no spark. Why his spark was not restored as Optimus’ was is unknown. (Optimus was revived intentionally with the AllSpark Key, while Starscream was revived with no clear external intent from anyone [read: by accident] by an AllSpark fragment lodged in his head (the first time anyway), but it is unknown whether these differences are the cause of the different results, or if the AllSpark is just fickle like that.)
Wreck-Gar: Created unintentionally. Time of creation noted on his TFWiki page. No formal protoform.
AllSpark fragment landed in a garbage scow. Presence of spark unconfirmed, but likely. AllSpark intended to grant life.
Ratbat and Laserbeak: Bodies made by Soundwave; tiny AllSpark slivers installed by Soundwave gave them sparks, confirmed. No formal protoforms.
Stretch: Created unintentionally by Porter C. Powell. Allspark fragment. Spark unconfirmed but likely. After Season Three. No formal protoform.
Special Mentions
Drift: Reformatted from a Decepticon shell to an Autobot one.
Sari Sumdac: Unusual (in shape and size) protoform already possessing spark, infused with human Isaac Sumdac’s DNA, resulted in human/Cybertronian technorganic with a primarily human appearance and functionality (at first).
The AllSpark Key’s purpose was to upgrade her and grant her a Cybertronian form. After months (a year?) of misuse, she finally used the Key for this purpose and acquired an armored Cybertronian mode as well as a general upgrade and change in appearance.
Starscream’s Potential Clone Army/Body Replacements: Cloned shells of his body that were never given life. Did not have protoforms. No sparks or AllSpark fragments. Many unused shells were destroyed by Megatron; remaining shells/parts were later used by Swindle to make Dirge & Thrust.
Jetfire and Jetstorm: Reformatted/given flight capability with aid of Decepticon flight schematics taken from Starscream’s CNA. No new protoforms used. The two bots are twins, the result of a split protoform; split after given a spark. Hence the intuitive combination and presence of a combined alternate mode. Safeguard is implied to be their true form.
Starscream’s CNA: Took over the training simulation in First (and Second) in Flight (Arrival comic) when uploaded by Perceptor. Whether this program was uploaded in full, actually held consciousness, or was just the result of a buggy system is unclear.
Team Stunticon (sans Toxitron): Scalpel & Oil Slick cloned several Autobots’ shells only and transplanted Team Stunticons’ sparks into the shells. Described as reformatting.
Soundwave’s Prototype Minions: Buzzsaw, Sunder, Garboil, Wingthing: Bodies created by Soundwave. No Allspark fragments; presumably no spark. Indexed as drones on tfwiki. Soundwave says in their bios that “before I successfully created machine life” (the successes being Laserbeak and Ratbat), he created some “prototypes””failures” that he chose not to destroy; instead he “released them into the wild to sow discord.”
Sights: Presumably no fragments or spark, but unclear and unconfirmed. “Sights was presumably created by Soundwave, or someone who swiped his technology, given that he shares a body-type with Laserbeak and his kin, and that he originates from Earth.” Possibly another one of his Prototype Minions.
Cyclonus: In The Complete Allspark Almanac, he is implied to be from “a dark future of the Animated universe, in which Megatron has become Galvatron. It also hints that Cyclonus is the future version of Starscream's clone, Skywarp, the cowardly clone since Scalpel believes he located within Cyclonus's code some of “Starscream's 'self preservation' algorithms commented out.”” His personality is described by Scalpel as “cold, virtually sparkless,” possibly a hint that he does not in fact possess a spark, which also supports the theory that Starscream’s clones are sparkless.
Blurr: Spark remained intact when body was crushed into a cube; body restored by AllSpark Matrix during The Return of Blurr. No extra protoform or shell pieces used.
Conclusions
The Autobots have never made clones. (They don’t really have a need to; unlike the Decepticons, they can create new bots normally.)
All bots made with the AllSpark Key definitely have sparks.
Grimlock, Swoop, Snarl, Soundwave
Most bots made with AllSpark fragments have sparks:
If they were an original bot with no CNA donor, they have a spark.
Srapper, Mixmaster, Dirt Boss, Wreck-Gar, Laserbeak, Ratbat, Stretch
If they were a clone whose CNA donor had a spark at the time of CNA collection, they have a spark.
Magnificus, Skipjack, Toxitron, Nemesis Prime, Dark Rodimus
One possible exception to the above rule is the Lugnut Supremes, but the CNA was not collected directly from the spark as per norm; AllSpark fragments stored in Omega Supreme’s sparkchamber were used, possibly resulting in improper clones and no sparks.
If they were a clone whose CNA donor did not have a spark at the time of CNA collection, they do not have a spark. (This really only applies to the Starscream clones, as there are no other instances of this method of cloning.)
Clone #2716057, Clone #3370318, Sunstorm, Skywarp, Slipstream, Thundercracker, Ramjet, Dirge, Thrust
There is no clear evidence indicating that Starscream’s clones have sparks. Most evidence and hints seem to imply that they do not.
AllSpark fragments can grant sparks to bots, OR act as a substitute for a spark, notably granting life and a spark signature despite the lack of an actual spark. (Why and how this works may be up to the AllSpark itself.)
Either fully-formed protoforms are not necessary for Cybertronian life, OR the energy of the AllSpark can generate protomatter/protoforms when it creates/gives life to a bot, if needed.
Reformatting primarily involves a change in shell. The protoform may or may not be replaced.
When Starscream restored his body, he used shell pieces already formed in his image, as well as a protoform and his AllSpark fragment. He did not possess a protoform as he was just a head, hence the need for a new one to fill in the shell. It seems that bots with their own bodies (damaged or otherwise) typically do not need a new protoform when reformatted. See Drift, Jetfire, Jetstorm, and the Stunticons.
Does Magnificus have a spark?
He seems to act like a fully living intelligent Cybertronian, so he’s probably not a drone like Soundwave’s Prototype Minions, but how the Decepticons got a spark is unclear. An original spark would have its own CNA and the result would be more of a reformatted original bot with Perceptor’s body than a true clone, but Magnificus is quite explicitly a true clone.
The only plausible possibilities are that AllSpark energy (who knows how they got a hold of some) and not an original spark was used to give the clone a spark that matched Perceptor’s CNA (which the Decepticons had a sample of), with similar effects as the use of the as-yet nonexistent AllSpark Key when it creates new bots--
OR that Shockwave was able to split or fragment Perceptor’s spark and transport a piece to the Decepticons for use. Intentional spark-splitting and long-distance transport of bare sparks is unconfirmed to be possible in TFA, but has been possible in other continuities. Notably, there has been one instance of short transport in TFA, when Prowl transferred a dying Yoketron’s spark into a blank protoform.
Personally I think #1 is more plausible. Maybe the Decepticons had some one-use artifact or device with stored AllSpark energy.
The final answer to this question is a resounding, “Probably, despite the fact that it should have been impossible.”

WARPATH: ...This is my friend Minerva, she's got somebody she wants to meet, and I was wondering—
SENTINEL: If I could... give her an autograph? Why, sure! It's always good to see the younger generation taking an interest in their role models.
MINERVA: Actually, I, uh—
SENTINEL: There you go, young lady. Stay in school, keep your optics on the stars, and uh, do everything I do and then you might make Magnus. Maybe Prime. Definitely Major.
MINERVA: But, but—!
SENTINEL: Speechless with gratitude! Ah, it touches me right in the spark chamber! See you around, Warpath, Minelba!
WARPATH: Uh, Minerva, you okay?
MINERVA: Of all the arrogant, self-absorbed, scrap-spewing...!

FUN FACTS from “The Stunti-Con Job” super-early iteration
So I found my old notes for BotCon 2011′s story, back before Marty Isenberg and @adelightfultedium and such were brought in. Various elements were retained, but here’s some fun development factoids!
The “cop investigating stunt performers” angle was always there, just... different. An early idea was the Stunticons were all disaffected/anarchic Autobots running illegal stunt shows and making pirate broadcasts, using Decepticon imagery for shock value. That’s because we weren’t really thinking “lead in to Season 4″ at the time, cuz we felt that was better left to Isenberg & company. Lo and behold!
Sideswipe was originally more Axel Foley-ish hip young cop. The final idea that he used to be that kinda cop and is now a cranky veteran is a lot more fun tho.
Ironfist was the plucky clueless rookie partner. Sidelining him for Cheetor though was definitely more entertaining.
The Stuniticons really didn’t change much from initial concepts, though various aspects did get added as Derrick’s designs came in, such as The Motor Master’s Macho-Man-ness.
I doodled some Dead Ends with skullface paint, but that level of detailing was kind of really damn difficult to apply to the toy’s tiny face. The beat-poet ‘stache works out great tho.
Drag Strip’s voice and general mannerisms were done with Vyvyan from The Young Ones in mind, only without that weird lip-thing Adrian Edmondson did.
Wildrider was always meant to be the one most “in control”, a deliberate subversion of the original. And yeah, he’s effectively Michael Bay, being incredibly meticulous in the execution of really dangerous explosive stunts. Neil Ross added the Jonathan-Harris-ish snobbery for his performance at the script reading and it was GLORIOUS.
Toxitron’s character development was... complicated. I don’t even remember all the details and arglebargle, but I recall most of it centered around Hasbro insistence on major character representation that led to the “Optimus takes on a Toxitron disguise” angle.
