did you know that the jon's suspenders used to belong to the suspender man? i like to think that when rabbit gifted him the suspenders, he could suddenly play the banjo! he thought it was part of an update that peter five gave him and he just never noticed until then.

in my personal headcanon, the jon plays the banjo during the suspender man's song, since it fits with this idea!

and sometimes, if they play the song during a late night show... it almost feels like someone else is pulling his hands to pluck at the banjo strings. to play that familiar tune, perfect note after perfect note.

that deep laugh you can hear at the end of the song, that is supposedly played over the speakers during live shows? no one in the band knows where it comes from. they never added it to the sound effects. but maybe, if you were to watch the jon carefully as the song ends... you might find that the laugh is coming from him.

when neil was going to save andrew at the hemmick's house, he knew exactly what kind of wood the door was, and how easy it would be to break through. that's what kind of guy he is. neil doesn't win fights, but he is damn good at a getaway. this is a really good example about how all of neil's knowledge is really selective because of his upbringing. we need more survivalist neil because he shows all these traits in the books, another example is when he hitchhiked from columbia to palmetto. please stop ignoring this because i want to see batshit insane neil on the run fics right now thx
